‘Ingraham Angle’ Exclusive: Seattle’s homeless crisis

Laura Ingraham addressed the homeless crisis in Seattle during Friday’s edition of “The Ingraham Angle,” showing exclusive video of the situation as well as reactions from Seattle residents who are concerned about what it’s doing to their home.

“I take the train in every day,” one resident said. “So coming just on my train ride from here to the building, seeing the amount of homeless people that we see every day … I see needles, I see people struggling — and there’s people that are trying to solve it.”

LEFT BEHIND: HOMELESS CRISIS IN SEATTLE

According to The Seattle Times, a local police officer filed a $10 million claim against the city, alleging he was exposed to an “extremely dangerous man-made toxin” when he was assigned to clean up a homeless camp in the industrial SoDo neighborhood in January.

“What we saw today is not all that different from what we’ve reported on in Venice Beach, in L.A.,” Ingraham said. “We see it in San Francisco. The Trump administration is now getting involved on the EPA level. That’s how dangerous this is: Now you have police officers apparently getting sick. They’re concerned about bringing the diseases home to their families at night.”

— Laura Ingraham

Former Reagan administration official and author Jeffrey Lord joined Ingraham to discuss the homeless crisis.

“If the toxins that made that police officer ill were found dumped in the Puget Sound out there in Seattle instead, everybody, all these people in the streets today, would be outraged,” Lord said. “But no, no, no. It came from a homeless encampment so they didn’t want to do anything about it.”

Lord blamed liberalism for Seattle’s situation.

“Laura, this is the governing philosophy of liberalism at work,” Lord said. “One city after another, ruled by liberals for decades — and they have this problem.”

Peter Schweizer says Hunter Biden worked in Ukraine despite lacking credentials: ‘What is he being paid for?’

Author Peter Schweizer on Friday night addressed the questions surrounding Hunter Biden’s involvement with a Ukrainian natural gas company while his father, former Vice President Joe Biden, oversaw America’s Ukraine policy.

“The underlying story here involves Hunter Biden going around the world really collecting large payments from foreign governments and foreign oligarchs in the case of Ukraine,” Schweizer, the author of “Secret Empires,” said on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

CONTROVERSY OVER TRUMP PHONE CALL CENTERS ON UKRAINE, AS PRESIDENT DECRIES ‘PARTISAN’ COMPLAINT

Joe Biden, now the Democratic presidential frontrunner for 2020, faced scrutiny for months over accusations that he pressured Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, who at that time was leading a corruption investigation into a natural gas company that had ties to Biden’s son.

Rudy Giuliani, a personal attorney for President Trump, has suggested that Biden worked to protect the company from investigation while in office. Biden said Friday that the claim has no credibility.

The issue involving the Bidens resurfaced Friday after The Wall Street Journal reported that, in a July phone call, Trump repeatedly asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to work with Giuliani on a probe into Hunter Biden’s business activities in Ukraine.

Schweizer implied Hunter Biden’s credentials didn’t match with the position he held, and that the situation looked suspicious.

“He is supposed to be advising them on natural gas regulatory issues. He has no background in Ukraine. He has no background in energy or natural gas. So the question is, What is he being paid for? He’s not being paid for his expertise, he has none,” Schweizer said. “His father at this time is the point person on U.S. policy to Ukraine.”

The author said Trump was “right” to ask for an investigation and accused Hunter of lying.

“Donald Trump is right to ask the question and to ask that there be an investigation to see what Hunter Biden was being paid for. Joe Biden has offered no answers,” Schweizer said. “Hunter Biden, when he’s been asked about this, has lied repeatedly and they’ve been proven lies by ABC News and other outlets.”

Joe Concha blasts media for Trudeau blackface hypocrisy, says a Republican would face more ‘snark’

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is geting “a pass” from the mainstream media in reaction to his blackface scandal, The Hill media reporter Joe Concha said Friday.

“It seems that the media is trying to put it behind him,” Concha said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“While there is coverage,” Concha added, “I don’t see the snark and I don’t see the sanctimony that I saw that you would see, obviously, with a conservative or Republican in these situations.”

CNN’S DON LEMON KNOCKS TRUMP WHILE PRAISING JUSTIN TRUDEAU’S APOLOGY OVER BROWNFACE PHOTO

On Thursday, host Carlson pointed out the media’s hypocrisy by comparing the way CNN’s Don Lemon handled the Trudeau story to the way Lemon reacted when former NBC host Megyn Kelly was under fire for blackface comments last year.

Kelly, who worked for Fox News before moving on to NBC, was famously fired for suggesting blackface could sometimes be OK when used for a costume.

Concha agreed with Carlson that Lemon was being hypocrital — and also blasted NBC for firing Kelly last October.

“They should still be ashamed of what they did to her in that situation,” Concha said about NBC, “because it was completely unfair. She was simply making an observation.”

Trudeau, who is up for reelection Oct. 21 but now faces uncertainty at the polls because of the scandal, apologized during a news conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Thursday.

Concha said Trudeau is obviously hoping the scandal blows over — with help from the media.

“It’s almost sympathy,” Concha said of the media’s coverage of Trudeau. “And he’s going to play the Ralph Northam playbook at this point. Just let it blow over. And by the weekend we’re not going to hear a thing about this moving forward.”

Washington Post mocked for comparing Elizabeth Warren to Frederick Douglass

An article in the Washington Post this week was widely mocked for comparing Democratic 2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren to historical icon Frederick Douglass — over the way they posed for photos.

WaPo reporter Hannah Natanson began her piece by pointing out that 19th century abolitionist Douglass (1818-1895) “appears alone in almost every photograph, staring down the camera in isolated, thoughtful splendor,” while Warren “features today in countless iPhone photos and Instagram feeds, her arm around voter after voter, always bearing the same wide grin.”

“The two are separated by race, gender and more than 100 years of history that forged an America that would probably be unrecognizable to Douglass,” Nathanson wrote. “Still, experts say, their use of photography collapses the distance: Douglass sat for scores of pictures to normalize the idea of black excellence and equality, and Warren’s thousands of selfies with supporters could do the same for a female president.”

WARREN GETS STUMPED BY COLBERT WHEN PRESSED ON MIDDLE-CLASS TAX HIKES TO FUND MEDICARE-FOR-ALL

The piece goes on to cite professors who support the comparison presented by Natanson that both Warren and Douglass were “smashing stereotypes.”

“She’s presenting a public image of herself as somebody who is presidential,” Columbia University professor Alexander Alberro said. “What Douglass tried to do was to create a public persona in the face of the negative type of image of African Americans at the time … so I think the comparison is really good.”

Louisiana State University professor Nichole Bauer suggested that even if Warren goes on to defeat in 2020, her “million selfies are just a little bit more of a crack in that glass ceiling.”

Still, the comparison raised many eyebrows on social media.

Journalist Jordan Chariton went even further, accusing The Washington Post of “propping up” Warren and “defeating” her progressive opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.

“Just when you think @washingtonpost can’t get anymore absurd in their campaign to prop up @ewarren (and defeat @BernieSanders), they are now comparing Warren taking selfies with people to……Frederick Douglass,” Chariton tweeted.

“Real Time” host Bill Maher took aim at Democrats on Friday night for their renewed opposition toward Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, telling them that “going after a guy for what he did in high school” looks bad.

Maher began the show’s panel-discussion segment by citing the “Kavanaugh effect” and the implication that four vulnerable Democrats lost their U.S. Senate seats in 2018 because of their opposition to the then-Supreme Court nominee — noting that Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., who backed President Trump’s appointment of Kavanaugh, was the only red-state Democrat to keep his job.

“People did not like going after a guy for what he did in high school,” Maher said. “It looked bad — and now Democrats are talking about impeaching him again?”

CNN commentator Tim Naftali — the historian and former director of the Nixon Library in California — defended the Democrats’ opposition to Kavanaugh, suggesting if there was a “dark cloud” above the justice, it should be pursued.

“From high school?” Maher reacted.

MSNBC analyst Heather McGhee sided with Naftali, stressing that the controversy is about Kavanaugh’s “character.”

But Maher doubled down.

“So you’re saying at 17, you have to have your fully-formed character,” Maher exclaimed. “Ruth Bader Ginsburg said glowing things about him. I think he’s an a——. I think he shouldn’t be on the Supreme Court.”

“Sometimes you have to do a fight even if you can’t win,” Naftali said.

“But what were you like at 17?!” Maher shot back. “I’m just telling you what the politics is… People don’t think you should go back to age 17. It just strikes them as preposterous and by the way, it’s counterproductive for Democrats winning.”

Last week, The New York Times walked back an explosive report about a resurfaced allegation of sexual assault against Kavanaugh from his college days. The piece by Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly was adapted from their forthcoming book, “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation,” and alleged that there was corroboration of an incident in which Kavanaugh, as a college student at Yale, exposed himself to a female classmate at a party.

But the Times was forced to issue an update that included the significant detail that several friends of the alleged victim said she did not recall the purported sexual assault. The newspaper also stated for the first time that the alleged victim refused to be interviewed, and has made no other comment about the episode.

Several Democratic lawmakers have called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment, including 2020 presidential candidates Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.

Sean Hannity: Biden faces new Ukraine scrutiny thanks to media mob’s ‘whistleblower’ story

Sean Hannity thanked the “media mob” Friday, saying they’ve “opened the door for a national discussion” on former Vice President Joe Biden‘s alleged pressuring of Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor while he was leading a corruption investigation into a natural gas company that had ties to his son Hunter.

“Multiple reports now suggest that the so-called whistleblowers claim it surrounds the country of Ukraine,” the Fox News host said on “Hannity.” “Now they’re doing us a favor because they’re now opening up a lot of questions we wanted to a cover for a long time.

CONTROVERSY OVER TRUMP PHONE CALL CENTERS ON UKRAINE, AS PRESIDENT DECRIES ‘PARTISAN’ COMPLAINT

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that, in a July phone call, President Trump repeatedly asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to work with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani on a probe into Hunter Biden. The call came a month before Trump put a hold on $250 million in military aid to Ukraine — a hold that was eventually released after objections from the Senate.

Giuliani has suggested that Biden, as VP, worked to protect the company from investigation. Biden said Friday that the claim has no credibility.

Biden released a statement Friday criticizing Trump for the alleged phone call, demanding the president release a transcript and the whistleblower’s complaint.

WHISTLEBLOWER COMPLAINT, REPORTEDLY ON TRUMP ‘PROMISE’ TO FOREIGN LEADER, TOUCHES OFF DC FIRESTORM

“This behavior is particularly abhorrent because it exploits the foreign policy of our country and undermines our national security for political purposes,” the statement read.

Hannity blasted the media for ignoring Biden’s possible corruption.

“I didn’t see anyone in the mob interested in that story but I do think the media mob, you have opened the door now for a national discussion about, well, what did Biden and his son do — and when did they do it?” Hannity said. “And what kind of interference was the Ukraine involved in as relates to our 2016 election? Now we’ll hopefully get to the truth.”

Earlier, the host dismissed the allegations against Trump, calling them just another example of Democrats and the media trying to impeach the president.

“This is what the mob does best — hyperventilating at the remote possibility that this unknown information will somehow lead to the impeachment that they’ve been craving [since] the day after Election Day 2016,” Hannity said. “This is a psychotic rage.”

‘Storm Area 51’ has alien ‘believers’ mostly standing near a gate, looking ‘to the skies,’ feeling the spirit

On the lonely dirt road to one of the entrances to the enigmatic Area 51, the only thing that resembled “storming” on Friday was all the dust kicked up from all the vehicles making the trek for selfies and group photos.

After months of hype — and emergency preparations that saw hundreds of law enforcement and fire officials scatter across the vast high-desert area around Rachel, Nev., about 140 miles north of Las Vegas — hardcore alien “believers” and those open to having their minds changed on the existence of extra-terrestrials gathered outside the military base, and were mostly just happy to be there.

“I’ve always looked to the skies, but I always kept it to myself because you didn’t talk about those things and now everyone is talking about things because it’s easier to come out in the open with being a believer,” Lisa Miller, who came all the way from Kentucky, told Fox News.

Miller, who’s currently on a “sample platter of a vacation” across various stops in the Southwest, said she ventured out in the early-morning hours Friday when the actual “storming” took place. She described the scene as maybe 50 people walking, but “nobody being stupid.”

“I keep telling people, everybody’s looking at the gate. Look to the skies because you don’t know what you’re going to see out here in the desert,” Miller told Fox News. “Stop looking just at the gate and broaden your mind.”

On the road to the gate, there were dozens of vehicles traveling in either direction, kicking up large plumes of dust along the way.

After parking their cars near a “road closed” sign, about 20 people walked down to the gate that serves as an entrance to Area 51. When they finally arrived, they were greeted by about eight police vehicles, with officers milling around.

One officer told Fox News that people had been coming and going throughout the day, but their numbers were never overwhelming. Most groups stuck around for up to 10 minutes, taking selfies and other photos by the gate before heading back to continue their treks through the desert to the sights along the “Extraterrestrial Highway.”

For Daisy Blue and Benton Huang from Tennessee, the trip to the gate took thousands of miles. While they weren’t greeted by a massive crowd, Benton said it was fun to come up and see officers outside on guard and interact with them.

“It lived up to my expectations,” Huang told Fox News.

‘STORM AREA 51’: HAVE YOU INTEREST IN SEEING THE MYSTERIOUS SITE’S ENTRANCE? TAKE A PEEK

Area 51 tested aircraft ranging from the U-2 in the 1950s to the B-2 stealth bomber in the 1980s. The government spent decades refusing to acknowledge the site even existed, before releasing documents confirming it in 2013.The continued secrecy surrounding the site has fueled rumors of government studies of extraterrestrials and crashed UFOs.

In that spirit, and with tongue planted in cheek, the “Storm Area 51” Facebook event went viral in July as people pledged to overrun the base in an attempt to “see them aliens.”

After all the hype and emergency preparations, officials said that only two arrests were made so far during the alien-themed events in Rachel and Hiko.

Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee told FOX5 of Las Vegas that the arrests were made overnight, between late Thursday and early Friday. A Canadian citizen was arrested in Hiko for indecent exposure but was later released. A second, alcohol-related arrest was made and the suspect was transferred to a booking facility in Pioche.

Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman said his recent health scare was a consequence of a broken heart.

“It feels much better now. And I’m going through some psychological things right now, too, so that doesn’t help,” he told FOX31 in an interview published on Wednesday. “I think, basically, I had a broken heart. And of course, it’s going to heal.”

According to People, he was hospitalized for a heart issue earlier this week after he was feeling pain in his chest. Per the magazine, he returned home on Tuesday.
