A front-door video camera captured a horrifying robbery outside an Oakland home Monday night that reportedly showed the assailant chase a woman at gunpoint until she fell and then robbed her.

The video was graphic and the woman could be heard screaming during most of the encounter. KTVU reported that the robbery occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday.

Residents in the area told the station that they noticed an uptick in crime. Some local officials said they are working with police to make sure there is a “strong response.”

The woman in the video eventually gets up and walks to the door and says, “I just got robbed.”

Surrounding homes in a Northern California neighborhood were evacuated Thursday after emergency responders found hundreds of military explosives inside the residence of a 70-year-old man who died of apparently natural causes.

Investigators in Stockton didn’t immediately know how the man came to possess the explosives, FOX 40 of Sacramento reported.

WORLD WAR II EXPLOSIVES FOUND WITH METAL DETECTOR BOY GOT FOR CHRISTMAS

Following the discovery by Stockton police and paramedics around 9:10 a.m., a police bomb squad and personnel from Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield responded to the scene, the station reported.

“They just left about an hour ago just because of how many types of devices are still in the home, they had to go back and get additional personnel,” Stockton police Officer Joe Silva told FOX 40 Thursday evening.

An estimated 20 surrounding homes were evacuated, with residents gaining access to a Red Cross shelter set up at a local community center, The Record of Stockton reported.

Street closures in the area also were in effect, according to a Stockton police Facebook post.

The evacuations were a precaution because of the high number of devices found at the scene, Silva said.

“You have to look at each device, determine if it’s live or not and then figure out exactly how you’re going to move it out of the residence,” he told The Record.

Authorities didn’t immediately know if the deceased man had served in the military or if anyone else lived in the home, according to the newspaper.

One neighbor, Dale Boyd, described the man who died as a pleasant man who “never caused a problem.” But Boyd said he didn’t know the man well, The Record reported.

The press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence hit back at reports Thursday that he might have been “snubbed” by Prince Charles while at the World Holocaust Forum in Jerusalem.

“This is not true,” Pence’s press secretary Katie Waldman wrote on Twitter, including a photo of the vice president and the prince sharing a laugh at the event. “VP and Prince Charles spoke prior to entering the event floor and after his remarks as well.”

Several outlets reported on a possible snub after a video showing the prince appear to skip over Pence while shaking hands with other world leaders circulated on social media.

Buckingham Palace also denied the reports.

“Shortly before the Yad Vashem memorial event began, the prince and Vice President Pence had a warm and friendly chat, which is why they did not greet each other again in the room,” a statement from the office of the Prince of Wales said, according to the Times of Israel.

Pence spoke in front of world leaders and Holocaust survivors at Israel’s Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Center on Thursday, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

“We gather to fulfill the solemn obligation, an obligation of remembrance, to never let the memory of those who died in the Holocaust to be forgotten by anyone anywhere in the world,” Pence said. “Today we remember what happens when the powerless cry for help and the powerful refuse to answer.”

Pence also shook hands with the prince after his speech, The Hill reported.

Antonio Brown surrenders to police in Florida: report

Antonio Brown, the former NFL wide receiver, surrendered to police in Florida on Thursday in relation to an arrest warrant stemming from allegations that he threw rocks at a moving truck and assaulted the driver, TMZ reported.

He reportedly arrived at Boward County jail alongside his lawyers.

The driver claimed Brown was under the influence at the time of the altercation. The outlet on Thursday obtained the 911 call placed by the driver of a moving truck outside Brown’s Hollywood home

Laura Ingraham: Adam Schiff is claiming he can read minds during Senate impeachment trial

Laura Ingraham took aim at House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and the Democratic impeachment managers Thursday for their latest presentation during President Trump’s Senate impeachment trial.

“The theme about this new maxim seems to be ‘If at first, you don’t persuade, lie, lie again,'” Ingraham said on “The Ingraham Angle.”

SCHIFF, IN MAJOR REVERSAL, ADMITS HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLEAR ABOUT HIS OWN CONTACT WITH THE WHISTLEBLOWER

Ingraham sarcastically claimed that Schiff had developed the “power to read minds” in the course of the impeachment investigation.

“You can see a lot of things about the attorney general [William Barr], but you cannot say that he ever has looked to pursue something he thought was not in the president’s interest,” Schiff said earlier Thursday. “This is pretty extraordinary where he is saying the moment this [July 25 phone call] transcript is publicly released. ‘I’ve got nothing to do with this scheme.’ The attorney general, I mean, could recognize a drug deal when he sees it too.”

“He’s been called a virtuoso,” Ingraham said of Schiff. “So I guess they forgot to mention that he’s a walking, talking, Magic 8-ball, too, because he now can read the mind of Attorney General Bill Barr just because Barr said I didn’t talk to anyone about this big deal.”

Ingraham boiled down her interpretation of the Democrats’ motives for impeaching Trump.

“The impeachment zealots don’t like Trump’s vision for U.S. foreign policy. They want to go back to the old globalist days, where we’ll intervene anywhere we feel like on any given day,” Ingraham said. “So instead of challenging him on his ideas or at the ballot box, they hope to remove him from office. That’s what it all comes down to.”

“Even Democrats,” the host added, “should be alarmed by the stupidity of these arguments.”

Dan Gainor: In Trump impeachment coverage, anti-Trump media embrace Democratic hero

The anti-Trump media are sparing no effort to proclaim their love for their hero in the Trump impeachment drama – House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

As the lead House manager in Trump’s Senate impeachment trial now underway, Schiff’s lengthy assault on the president has drawn so many positive comments that Trump haters in the media are straining to find synonyms for “brilliant” as they heap praise on him. It’s a wonder they aren’t calling for his likeness to be added to Mount Rushmore.

No news organization has praised Schiff more than CNN. It’s probably not even possible. The combined network team dropped the word “very” 11 different times during one impeachment trial break to underscore how very, very much they loved his presentation.

TUCKER CARLSON MOCKS ‘ST. ADAM’ SCHIFF’S PERFORMANCE AT SENATE IMPEACHMENT TRIAL

“Situation Room” anchor Wolf Blitzer said Schiff gave “a very, very powerful and forceful speech” and made “a very, very strong case.”

“The Lead” anchor Jake Tapper described what Schiff was “very forcefully saying.” Tapper also noted Schiff’s speech was “a very factually based argument” and “very long, two and a half hours.”

Yay, verily.

More from Opinion

CNN analyst Joe Lockhart, who was White House press secretary when President Bill Clinton was impeached and has worked for many Democratic politicians, tried a different strategy. He made news the old-fashioned, fake way.

Lockhart tweeted about a supposed discussion between Republican senators where one said of the Democratic accusations against Trump: “I haven’t heard any of this before. I thought it was all about a server. If half the stuff Schiff is saying is true, we’re up s—– creek.”

That post received more than 10,000 retweets and 42,000 likes. But Lockhart followed it up a few minutes later, admitting: “OK maybe I made up the convo, but you know that’s exactly what they’re thinking.”

Lockhart was slammed for what he later termed a “joke.” The Babylon Bee response struck home: “Leave the satire to us; we’ll leave the fake news to you.”

ABC tried a similar hype strategy. Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran could barely contain himself as he oohed and aahed about Schiff’s “senatorial eloquence” or his “meticulous” nature and the argument he made in “classic legal fashion.”

Washington Post theoretical “conservative” columnist Jennifer Rubin also used “meticulous,” to which she added “brilliant.”

Former Newsweek editor Jonathan Alter made it sound like Schiff was ready to hold a concert on PBS. He declared: “I think it’ll go down as one of the great performances.”

Both “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski praised Schiff for “a virtuoso performance.”

Perhaps future Schiff speeches will get their own soundtrack or win a Grammy.

Schiff was even compared to Daniel Webster, who went down in history as one of the great Senate orators. Esquire writer Charles P. Pierce said Schiff “was playing in the same league as Webster was 190 years ago.”

And Slate’s Tom Socca said that Schiff and his team have “all the facts and principles on their side.” To address that, Team Trump “had nothing to counter them with but nonsense and lies. Nonsense, lies, and 53 votes.” That number is key and Slate’s “Impeach-O-Meter” only gave Trump a “0.5% Chance of Removal.”

Congress and the National Press Club better stock up on Teddy Bears and Scotch for when this fiasco is over. Because the media and the left are going to need them both.

Trump shares satirical image of Obama spying on him at Trump Tower amid FISA abuse developments

President Trump raised eyebrows on Twitter by sharing a comical image of President Obama spying on him at Trump Tower.

Trump posted the image, which shows Obama using a pair of binoculars to eye Trump while hanging outside of his Trump Tower window, without any comment.

The photoshopped image appears to date back to early 2017 around the time the president made the claim that Obama had “wiretapped” Trump Tower during the 2016 election.

It could, however, be tied to the latest developments regarding the legitimacy of the controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) application process into former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

At least two of the FBI’s surveillance applications to secretly monitor Page lacked probable cause, according to a newly declassified summary of a Justice Department assessment released Thursday by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC).

The DOJ’s admission essentially means that the FISA warrant authorizations to surveil Page, when stripped of the FBI’s misinformation, did not meet the necessary legal threshold and should never have been issued.

The June 2017 Page FISA warrant renewal, which was among the two deemed invalid by the DOJ, was approved by then-acting FBI Director (and now CNN contributor) Andrew McCabe, as well as former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The April 2017 warrant renewal was approved by then-FBI Director James Comey.

“Today’s unprecedented court filing represents another step on the road to recovery for America’s deeply damaged judicial system,” Page said in a statement to Fox News. “I hope that this latest admission of guilt for these civil rights abuses by the Justice Department marks continued progress towards restoring justice and remedying these reputationally ruinous injuries.”

Added Iowa GOP Sen. Chuck Grassley, who previously chaired the Judiciary Committee: “It’s about time. It’s about time federal authorities entrusted with our most powerful and intrusive surveillance tools begin to own up to their failures and abuses, and take steps to restore public confidence. … Time will tell if the department will continue working to fix its errors and restore trust that it won’t disregard Americans’ civil liberties. Its admission and cooperation with the FISC is a step in the right direction.”

Questions loom over future of refugee programs after federal judge blocks Trump order

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Staff inside the International Institute of Minnesota said a judge’s recent decision to prevent local jurisdictions from shutting its doors to refugees is just a temporary sigh of relief.

The judge’s ruling comes amid lawsuits filed by refugee resettlement advocacy groups in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order last year requiring states to provide written consent from local officials before moving forward with refugee resettlement in their areas.

“It adds more confusion around the program and a little bit of uncertainty now about what the next steps are for us,”  said Micaela Schuneman, director of refugee services for the International Institute of Minnesota.

The institute is one of only five agencies in the state of Minnesota that works to resettle refugees in the state’s 87 counties.

Before the ruling, Beltrami County was the only county in the state that refused refugee resettlement in its community.

Those against the federal program introduced back in 1980 say it’s about the cost burden on taxpayers.

“Schools, health costs, social services costs, and that doesn’t even deal with the kinds of social disruption that occurs when you mix people who come from radically different cultures,”  said St. Cloud resident John Palmer.

The midwestern state has seen a large influx of Somali refugees in the past decade, reshaping its cultural and political landscape — and sparking tensions in some parts of the state.

Ekram Elmoge, who left Somalia with her family to escape civil war, said a lack of cultural awareness has prompted some to make unfair assumptions about the refugees entering the U.S. She said one misconception is that people who come to America through refugee resettlement programs do not pay taxes.

“Hate groups claim we don’t pay taxes,  we don’t work, we get free cars, and pretty much everything is free, and that’s just not true,” she said.

Elmoge, a student at St. Cloud State University studying education while working full time for a nonprofit to help students in St. Cloud, said she doesn’t take the opportunities granted to her in America for granted.

In recent years, there has been a significant drop in the number of refugees resettling in  Minnesota, a trend that expected nationwide as The Trump Administration capped the total number of refugee admissions at 18,000 for the current fiscal year.

Before 2017, the United States accepted more refugees than every other country combined, according to the Pew Research Center.

In 2018,  the Trump Administration set the refugee resettlement cap at 30,000 –a significant reduction from the 110,000 refugees allowed during Barack Obama’s final year in office.

The Trump Administration’s executive order doesn’t take effect until June 1, so refugee resettlement will resume business as usual.

But now that states and local jurisdictions can’t reject refugees, refugee resettlement agencies like the International Institute of Minnesota say there are more questions on what will happen next if the Trump Administration decides to appeal the judge’s ruling.

“What it means is that we don’t know if this requirement that will go into effect after June 1 or if there will be a different requirement that will take its place, or what that new timeline will look like,” said Schuneman.

She added that her staff would continue to work with communities across the state to educate them on refugee resettlement if written consent will be required again.

Caravan in Mexico broken up by national guardsmen, immigration agents

Mexican security forces and immigration agents put hundreds of Central Americans who crossed into the country early Thursday on buses to be processed and possibly sent back to their home countries amid a wave of migrants passing through in an effort to reach the United States.

The national guardsmen, dressed in riot gear, advanced on migrants who were stopped at a crossroads, prompting the migrants to kneel and chant “we want to pass.”

Authorities awaited the caravan outside the community of Frontera Hidalgo, near Ciudad Hidalgo, where the migrants had crossed the Suchiate River at dawn.

Many were escorted onto buses without resistance. Women cradling small children or holding kids’ hands wept as they walked toward the buses.

Jose Luis Morales, a Salvadoran de facto spokesman for the caravan, said the migrants wanted to negotiate to be allowed to pass peacefully. Federal officials arrived and a dialogue was opened.

He said afterward that authorities’ initial proposal was that they turn themselves in for detention while being processed for refuge — what he called “always the same policy.” Instead, they planned to stay put until Friday, Morales said.

The crackdown comes as Mexico has vowed to help the Trump administration stem the flow of migrants, who inundated American border officials at the southern border in large numbers in 2018. Trump previously threatened Mexico with escalating tariffs if it did not take an active role in halting the surge of migrants.

In previous caravans, Mexican authorities have allowed caravans to walk for a while, seemingly to tire them out, before blocking their path. Migrants and Mexican authorities clashed earlier this week as they tried crossing the Suchiate River.

Some threw rocks at security forces, forcing some families to be separated during the chaos. Authorities shouted that the migrants had two options: go back to Guatemala or turn themselves over to immigration agents.

The majority-Honduran caravan left from San Pedro Sula last week in the hope of of reaching the U.S. to apply for asylum. Aníbal, who declined to give his last name for fear of reprisal from immigration authorities, joined the group from his hometown of Santa Rosa, Guatemala.

He said he was determined to reach the U.S. no matter what.

“They need to let us pass,” he said, adding that Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador “needs to have a little more compassion … we’re going out of necessity. We’re not going for ambition.”
