Aaron Carter briefly appeared to want to make amends with his family.

The troubled singer, 31, tweeted and deleted his desire to make right with brother Nick Carter, writing, “I’ve been very hurt by the fact that my big brother has not made an effort to be part of my life for a long time. So therefore, I lashed out and said some hurtful things I did not mean to say.”

“I love my brother,” he added. “I love my family, and all I want is peace and love for everybody.”

AARON CARTER’S FACE TATTOO ARTIST SAYS HE TRIED TO TALK SINGER OUT OF IT

Aaron erased any mention of his family hours later and indicated he had successfully arrived in Canada after getting held up in customs.

In September, Nick requested a restraining order against Aaron after the “Aaron’s Party” singer allegedly threatened him and his wife.

“After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today,” Nick, 39, said in a tweet.

“In light of Aaron’s increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family,” wrote Nick, who has since welcomed a baby girl.

The statement continued: “We love our brother and truly hope he gets the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else.”

Aaron went on to accuse his late sister Leslie of sexual abuse, which prompted the Los Angeles Police Department to launch an investigation.

Hong Kong protesters defy mask ban in new round of demonstrations, as city braces for more

Hong Kong demonstrators defied a new face mask ban as they took to the streets Saturdays in relatively quieter protests following an evening of violence and unrest.

Marchers – wearing blue doctor’s masks – told reporters that the protest movement was merely harboring its strength for the long haul as Hong Kong’s most disruptive crisis since its “one nation, two systems” agreement with the Chinese in 1997.

Shops and banks were shuttered. Lines formed at cash machines, while the entire transit network of subways and trains that usually handles more than 4 million trips a day was closed.

HONG KONG’S LAM BANS MASKS IN HARDENING STANCE ON PROTESTS

The government’ initiated the ban after widespread violence in the city on Tuesday, which marred China’s National Day and ended in blood. Two teenagers – 14 and 18 years old – have been shot by live ammunition by police.

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam is blamed for sparking the movement with a now-abandoned bill that would have allowed criminal suspects to be extradited for trial in Communist Party-controlled courts in mainland China.

On Friday, she announced the criminalization of the masks at rallies, as well as denounced violence.

“People are asking can Hong Kong go back to normal? Is Hong Kong still a place where we can have our sweet home?” Lam asked. “We must stop the violence. Now, it’s all over Hong Kong.”

REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK: HONG KONG PROTESTERS VOW TO KEEP FIGHTING AS CLASHES GROW VIOLENT

Lam added that the ban targeted violent protesters and rioters and “will be an effective deterrent to radical behavior.”

But, analysts cautioned that the use of the Emergency Ordinance for the first time in over half a decade set a dangerous precedent.

Those who break the regulation will face a year in jail. Police said no arrests had been made so far on the anti-mask ban but did not explain why.

Before Lam spoke, thousands of masked protesters marched through city streets, chanting slogans for greater democracy including “Wearing a mask is not a crime.” Cars stuck in the chaos honked their support.

In a televised address broadcast on Saturday, a solemn Lam described Hong Kong as “semi-paralyzed.”

Even though many blamed Lam, some are turning to the government’s side in the wake of the riots.

“Protesters want democracy and freedom, but don’t they have freedom now? People can go anywhere and do things freely,” 67-year-old retiree Peter Tai said. “Freedom is more valuable than democracy. I hope these young people don’t do things they’ll regret forever.”

University of Kansas apologizes for controversial Snoop Dogg show

The University of Kansas athletic director Jeff Long issued an apology on Friday night following a controversial performance by Snoop Dogg during the school’s “Late Night in the Phog” preseason celebration.

The performance, which kicked off the Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team’s 2019-2020 season, featured pole dancers, a money gun and profanity in front of a raucous crowd of 16,300 people at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas.

“We apologize for the Snoop Dogg performance at Late Night,” Long said. “We made it clear to the entertainers’ managers that we expected a clean version of the show and took additional steps to communicate to our fans, including moving the artist to the final act of the evening, to ensure that no basketball activities would be missed if anyone did not want to stay for his show.”

He added: “I take full responsibility for not thoroughly vetting all the details of the performance and offer my personal apology to those who were offended. We strive to create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening.”

During the event, Snoop Dogg performed some of his famous hits like “Gun and Juice,” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” complete with a team of pole dancers. He wore a Kansas Jayhawks Jersey and even shot fake money into the crowd, which ESPN reported featured his own face on the currency.

While the performance isn’t new for the rapper, the school is currently facing five NCAA Level I violations, including a lack of institutional control and a violation of coaching responsibilities standard. Those violations could result in serious penalties for the basketball program.

Kansas head coach, Bill Self also issued an apology for the event while exclaiming the performance went a bit further than he expected.

“That’s not the direction that anybody at our school would want that to go, at all,” Self told USA Today. “Regardless of the entertainment that it provided many. It was still not the right way to provide the entertainment.”

Trump calls Romney ‘pompous a–’ after criticism for appeals to China, Ukraine

Westlake Legal Group Donald-Trump-Mitt-Romney-AP Trump calls Romney ‘pompous a--’ after criticism for appeals to China, Ukraine fox-news/politics/trump-impeachment-inquiry fox-news/person/donald-trump fox news fnc/politics fnc c7e84399-7d15-5ebf-aa4b-fc879aa5c153 article Adam Shaw

President Trump on Saturday ripped into Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, over his criticism of Trump’s request for foreign investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden — branding the 2012 presidential hopeful a “pompous ‘a–’” who “choked” in his own run for the White House.

“Somebody please wake up Mitt Romney and tell him that my conversation with the Ukrainian President was a congenial and very appropriate one, and my statement on China pertained to corruption, not politics,” he tweeted. “If Mitt worked this hard on Obama, he could have won. Sadly, he choked!”

MITT ROMNEY BLASTS TRUMP’S ‘BRAZEN’ REQUEST FOR FOREIGN PROBES INTO BIDEN FAMILY

“Mitt Romney never knew how to win. He is a pompous ‘a–’ who has been fighting me from the beginning, except when he begged me for my endorsement for his Senate run (I gave it to him), and when he begged me to be Secretary of State (I didn’t give it to him),” he said. He is so bad for R’s!”

Trump was responding to recent criticism by the Utah senator over his comments in which he said that China should investigate Biden, just as he had urged Ukraine to do in July.

TRUMP CALLS FOR CHINA TO INVESTIGATE BIDEN FAMILY

“China should start an investigation into the Bidens because what happened with China is just about as bad as what happened with Ukraine,” Trump said earlier this week. “I’m sure that President Xi [Jinping] does not like being under that kind of scrutiny where billions of dollars is taken out of his country by a guy that just got kicked out of the Navy.”

Trump had urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a phone call this summer to “look into” the Biden family dealings in the country, particularly related to gas company Burisma Holdings, where Hunter served on the board.

On China, Trump was referencing a 2013 trip to Beijing on Air Force Two in which Hunter tagged along. NBC News reported that Hunter Biden was attempting to start a big-money private equity fund. Chinese authorities issued the business license for the fund 10 days after the trip was over.

Romney on Friday said that Trump’s call for China and Ukraine to investigate the Bidens was “appalling.”

“When the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China’s investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the Democratic nomination process, it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated,” Romney tweeted.

He added: “By all appearances, the President’s brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and to Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden is wrong and appalling.”

Trump and Romney have feuded with regularity in recent years, with Trump regularly referring to Romney’s 2012 defeat to President Barack Obama. Romney, earlier this year, penned an op-ed in which he attacked Trump’s conduct and said, “he has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere once fought over Princess Diana according to Elton John

Princess Diana almost caused a fight between Slyvester Stallone and Richard Gere at one of Elton John’s famous parties.

The “Tiny Dancer” singer has revealed his new autobiography, “Me,” that he threw a posh dinner party for the head of Disney Jeffrey Katzenberg when he was making “The Lion King”– and was begged to invite his pal Princess Di.

Elton and his husband David Furnish also invited A-listers Richard Gere and Sylvester Stallone to the party alongside George Michael, Richard Curtis and his wife Emma Freud.

Diana was separated from Prince Charles at the time and was “very taken” with dashing Richard Gere who had just broken up with Cindy Crawford.

“They ended up sitting in front of the fireplace together, locked in rapt conversation,” an excerpt from Elton’s autobiography published in the Daily Mail reads.

“As the rest of us chatted, I couldn’t help notice a strange atmosphere in the room. Judging by the kind of looks he kept shooting them, Diana and Richard Gere’s newly blossoming friendship was not going down well with Sylvester Stallone at all.”

Elton claims Sly attended the dinner party just to meet Diana – and he had hoped to romance her.

So when everyone sat down to dinner Sly took Richard for a word outside.

“It transpired that David discovered Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere in the corridor, squaring up to each other, apparently about to settle their differences over Diana by having a fist-fight,” Elton writes.

“He’d managed to calm things down by pretending he hadn’t noticed what was going on — ‘Hey, guys! Time for dinner!’ — but Sylvester clearly still wasn’t happy.”

“I never would have come,” he snapped, as David and I showed him to the door, “If I’d known Prince f***in’ Charming was gonna be here.”

Canadian man trying to rest calls 911 after Amber Alert wakes him up

A 70-year-old man in Canada was arrested this week after complaining to police about receiving an Amber Alert on his phone.

Douglas Bagshaw was taken into custody on a mischief charge after calling 911 on Tuesday to say he was upset about the alert on his phone because he was trying to rest, CTV News reports.

He was accused of purposely tying up emergency lines, Hamilton police said Thursday.

“Simply put, he was angry about receiving the Amber Alert on his phone because he was trying to rest,” Detective Sgt. Lisa Chambers said, according to CBC.

“And then he further told us he would continue to call in response to the ongoing alerts,” she said.

The Amber Alert was issued after five children went missing in Ontario. Police said they issued the alert out of concern for the children’s safety, CBC reported.

The children were found safe Wednesday and police credited the alert with providing information that led to them being found.

Pompeo defends administration amid Ukraine controversy: ‘It is our duty to investigate’

Westlake Legal Group 694940094001_6091289148001_6091286260001-vs Pompeo defends administration amid Ukraine controversy: ‘It is our duty to investigate’ fox news fnc/politics fnc article Adam Shaw 37f1ac14-fe61-5008-b574-0bacb6b008e4

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday defended the Trump administration over its dealings with Ukraine amid an escalating impeachment inquiry into the matter from House Democrats — telling reporters that governments have a “duty” to investigate possible interference in the 2016 election, and accusing the Obama administration of not doing enough.

“This administration was incredibly focused on making sure that we worked with Ukraine in a way that was appropriate,” he told reporters in Athens, Greece. “And it is not only appropriate but it is our duty to investigate if we think there was interference in the election of 2016.”

POMPEO MISSES DEADLINE TO TURN OVER STATE DEPT. DOCS ON UKRAINE, GIULIANI IN IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY

He spoke after the State Department missed a Friday deadline to comply with a subpoena issued by House Democrats to hand over documents related to the department’s dealings with Ukraine and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani. He told reporters that the department had sent a letter to Congress, “which is our initial response to the document request.” He also said that the department would do what it is required to do by law.

Under particular scrutiny is Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Trump urged Zelensky to look into possible interference by Ukraine in the 2016 election as well as former Vice President Joe Biden’s and his son Hunter’s conduct in the country. During the call, Trump asked for a “favor” in the form of Ukraine providing information about theories related to the hacking of the Democratic National Committee server in 2016.

“The server, they say Ukraine has it,” he told Zelensky.

Democrats claim that Trump used $400 million in military aid as a quid pro quo for the Ukrainians to investigate a political opponent and have opened an impeachment inquiry, firing off a raft of subpoenas within a few days to top administration and White House officials. The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the White House late Friday, with the Democratic chairmen of three committees saying that Trump has “chosen the path of defiance, obstruction and cover up” in response to the inquiry.

On Saturday, Pompeo did not specifically address the Biden question but defended the administration’s interest in any possible Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election as one that was part of the government’s duty to make sure America’s elections are secure. He also said that administration was “full-fledged” on its commitment to pushing back against corruption in Ukraine.

HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE SUBPOENAS WHITE HOUSE IN IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY

“I think everyone recognizes that governments have an obligation indeed a duty to ensure that elections happen with integrity without interference from any government whether that’s the Ukrainian government or any other,” Pompeo said Saturday. “So inquiries with respect to that are completely important and if we need another government’s assistance it’s very reasonable to ask that government to say ‘Do you have any help that you can provide?’ So we can protect the American people so that they can vote in free and fair elections without interference from any other country.”

He also suggested the Obama administration was negligent in those duties.

CLICK HERE FOR THE ALL-NEW FOXBUSINESS.COM

“I only wish that the previous administration had protected our elections back in 2016,” he said. “You recall that the interference that took place took place under the previous administration.”

Pompeo’s remarks come as the administration has sought to go on the offense in the face of the Democratic impeachment push. The White House was expected to send a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., as early as Monday arguing that Congress could not mount its impeachment inquiry without first having a vote to authorize it. Trump on Friday said that he has an “obligation” to end corruption, even if that requires enlisting other countries.

“This has NOTHING to do with politics or a political campaign against the Bidens,” he tweeted. “This does have to do with their corruption!”

Luke Perry might be gone but his kids are continuing his legacy.

The actor’s son, Jack, who is a pro wrestler and goes by the name Jungle Boy, was photographed at New York Comic Con on Friday and his resemblance to Luke is uncanny.

The 22-year-old was in town to promote All Elite Wrestling, which just made its debut on TNT on Thursday night.

Jack celebrated the accomplishment on social media. “Awesome tv debut last night for @aewonthnt! History in the making,” he wrote.

Luke died in March at only 52 years old after suffering a massive stroke.

In July, Jack opened up about his father’s death to Entertainment Tonight, saying “the thing that I’m most proud of about my dad, always, is that he was a really good guy.”

A letter sent from House Democrats to Vice President Mike Pence requesting documents as part of the impeachment inquiry was based on “fake news,” the vice president’s Chief of Staff Marc Short said Saturday.

Chairman Elijah Cummings, D-Md., Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., gave Pence until October 15 to produce pertinent documents.

The House Oversight Committee also subpoenaed the White House late Friday evening.

The Democratic chairmen of three House committees wrote that President Trump “has chosen the path of defiance, obstruction, and cover-up” in response to the ongoing impeachment inquiry related to his conduct on a phone call with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Ukraine.

Appearing on “Fox & Friends” with host Pete Hegseth, Short said House Democrats only want to discuss their “partisan impeachment” narrative and the American people are “fed up with it.”

“And, as opposed to working on things that we could actually be working on together — like lowering drug prices or continuing to create new jobs with new trade deals — Democrats want to focus on these continued investigations,” Short lamented.

“I think this administration’s continued to deliver for the American people in rebuilding the military, in securing the border and confirming a record number of judges. And, just yesterday, more evidence of this booming economy with 3.5 percent unemployment rate,” he touted. “The economy is booming. Democrats don’t want to talk about that, and so they’ve been focused on impeachment.”

The president has resisted Democratic attempts to produce documents and administration witnesses for the inquiry, although acknowledging that Democrats “have the votes” to proceed.

The White House was expected to send a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., as early as Monday arguing that Congress could not mount its impeachment inquiry without having a vote to authorize it. The speaker has said such a vote is unnecessary.

In the chairmen’s Friday letter, they warned the White House that “Speaker Pelosi has confirmed that an impeachment inquiry is underway, and it is not for the White House to say otherwise.”

Turning to the letter, Short told Hegseth that the chairmen’s source in the letter — a report in “The Washington Post” – was distorted.

“I don’t know about Volker’s exchanges. I saw those same news reports. But you know what, President Zelenskiy himself said he felt no pressure. From the President or the Vice President. That should have ended a lot of these inquiries at that point,” said Short.

“The reality is that we’re going to continue to focus on what we think is most important to the American people,” he concluded.

“There [are] 21 Democrats who are residing in districts where Donald Trump won in 2016. And those members have to be put on notice and say, ‘are you actually going to help your constituents to do things that are beneficial for the American people or are you siding with Nancy Pelosi and these endless investigations?” he asked.

Newt Gingrich: Pelosi’s rigged game far cry from truth-seeking impeachment inquiries into Nixon, Clinton

If you want proof that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats are creating a rigged game that sets up a coup to destroy the president, simply look at the last two legitimate impeachment efforts — in 1973 and 1998.

Both Democratic Judiciary Committee Chairman Peter Rodino in 1973 and Republican Judicial Committee Chairman Henry Hyde in 1998 set a standard for fairness and operated with a judicial temperament of seeking the truth rather than maximizing partisan advantage.

In 1973, Rodino set the gold standard for fairness. The rights of the minority were protected. The American people’s right to know what was going on was protected.

Chairman Rodino himself set a standard for fairness and seriousness as a congressman exercising constitutional oversight.  In fact, the Rodino Rules for bipartisanship were widely considered so fair and legitimate that when we were faced with a special counsel report charging that President Clinton had committed 11 potentially impeachable offenses, our initial response was bipartisan.

Democratic leader Dick Gephardt and I held a joint press conference announcing that we had agreed the entire report should be published so the American people could make up their own minds.

Compare their behavior with the wild lies House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., has been telling for two years – first about the Russian collusion hoax and now about the Ukrainian absurdity.

If you read the opening statements of Rodino and Hyde, and then look at the profoundly dishonest, totally made up and entirely false opening statement by Schiff, you can see the difference between people who are trying to uphold the rule of law and those who seek to destroy a president at any cost.

The result of these very different approaches can be seen in the voting pattern in the House.

In the current atmosphere – with the dishonest, one-sided rigged game, and indeed, an obvious liar as chair of the investigation – can you imagine two-thirds of House Republicans voting with Pelosi and Schiff for a witch hunt conducted under totally partisan rules?

In November 1973, the House voted to fund the investigation into President Nixon on a bipartisan 367-51 vote. By February 1974, everyone was so convinced that Rodino was being fair and non-partisan that the resolution to conduct a formal investigation passed 410-4.

When we were faced with the Starr Report we were in a more polarized environment. The Clinton team had concluded that they had to run a very partisan defense. Despite the intense efforts of James Carville and others to polarize the Democrats, we continued to push with Henry Hyde in an open way.

The result of our openness was that a substantial number of Democrats continued to vote with us on the procedures despite intense pressure from the White House and outside groups.

In September 1998, the House released the Starr Report on a 363-63 vote. Democrats favored an investigation by a better than 2-to-1 margin.

In the current atmosphere – with the dishonest, one-sided rigged game, and indeed, an obvious liar as chair of the investigation – can you imagine two-thirds of House Republicans voting with Pelosi and Schiff for a witch hunt conducted under totally partisan rules?

Everyone interested in better understanding how fair people used judicial standards and basic fairness in 1973 and 1998 should read former GOP Congressman James Rogan’s personal account of the process in an important book: Catching Our Flag: Behind the Scenes of a Presidential Impeachment.”

It will make crystal clear that the current partisan actions are a complete sham.
