The Only Reason This Kuwaiti Flag
Isn’t an Iraqi Flag – Is US

Most of the world is neither a friendly nor appreciative place.

No matter what we in the United States do to help the rest of the planet – no matter how much for how many countries – we only continue to be hated and reviled.

A lot of it is not our fault.  Because human nature.

Life is high school on steroids.

Most people in high school really didn’t like the varsity quarterback.  He was athletic.  And popular.  And dated multiple cheerleaders.  Most of the rest of the student body resented him much more than even those who liked him – liked him.

The United States – is the world’s high school quarterback.  Our economic and military prowess – is going to be resented.

The rest of it – is our fault.  Because human nature.

We do insist on sticking our enormous proboscis into all sorts of things and places – where neither it nor we belong.

We have a particular affection for armed invasions – for all the (publicly asserted) right reasons, of course.

We are now almost two decades into Afghanistan.  Which started righteously – we were attacked on 9/11/2001 by Islamist freaks based out of there.

But what should have been at most a six-month endeavor – has dragged on and on and….  With no end in sight.

The things we were told prevented us from leaving in Year Three and Year Eight, and Year Twelve, and… – are exactly the same things we are told prevent us from leaving now.  With no end in sight.

A sad, horrible, horrendous waste of blood, time and treasure – by any rational measure.

One of the many follies this Afghani folly’s proponents have incessantly put forward – since even before we invaded – is that our efforts would “win the hearts and minds of the Afghans.”

Ummm…they still have not.

Green on Blue Attacks:

“‘Green on blue attacks’ is the name given to a growing series of incidents where seemingly rogue Afghan security forces turn their guns on their NATO counterparts.”

Protestors Burn U.S. Flag in Pakistan and Afghanistan

In fact, we never will “win the hearts and minds.”  In Afghanistan – or anywhere else on Earth.  Most especially under arms.

As French politician Maximillian Robespierre knew:

“The most extravagant idea that can be born in the head of a political thinker is to believe that it suffices for people to enter, weapons in hand, among a foreign people and expect to have its laws and constitution embraced. No one loves armed missionaries; the first lesson of nature and prudence is to repulse them as enemies.”

Even when we do do a country a real solid – in exactly the right way – it doesn’t help or matter.

In August 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait.  The United States led a 35-nation coalition that rapidly expelled Iraq.  After which we all got the heck out – and returned Kuwait to the Kuwaitis.

So we’re Kuwait’s eternal heroes, right?  They love US forever, yes?

Not so much:

“Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time (at the United Nations).”

Which brings us to today.

Much of Kuwait’s economy – is business centered on and around raising oil from beneath their feet and selling it.  A lot of help in so doing – comes from US.

One such US company – is KGL Investment Company:

“A Kuwaiti investment fund is calling on the Kuwaiti government to clarify its position over close to $500 million of the fund’s assets which are currently stuck in a Dubai bank, after growing concerned about possible efforts by some Kuwaiti individuals to seize the money.”

Kuwait and Dubai have frozen KGLs half a billion dollars – and then some:

“This is just one part of a wider dispute which includes allegations of corruption and embezzlement involving Russian businesswoman Marsha Lazareva, managing director of KGL Investment (KGLI), which sponsored The Port Fund.

“Lazareva was handed a 10-year jail sentence by a court in Kuwait in May. Her lawyers, Washington D.C.-based law firm Crowell & Moring, say she was subjected to a ‘show trial’ and have started proceedings to set up an international tribunal to examine the case.”

So Lazareva and her four-year-old son were held captive in Kuwait until she was released on bail.  On a ridiculous conviction and facing ridiculous fines.

A great and growing group of people are calling for action – including from the Donald Trump Administration:

Lawmakers From Both Parties Request Action from Treasury to Help Businesswoman Stuck in Kuwait

Both inside and outside government – and the US:

“Among those advocating for Lazareva’s release are Neil Bush, the son of the late President George H.W. Bush, Louis Freeh, former director of the FBI, Jim Nicholson, former United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs, former U.S. Representative Ed Royce, Sergey Lavrov, foreign minister of Russia, British Barrister Lord Carlile and members of UK Parliament….”

Why all this Kuwaiti nonsense?  Besides innate ungratefulness?  Kuwaiti cronyism:

“Behold Agility Logistics.  A Kuwaiti company – with close ties to the Kuwaiti government.

“Agility’s CEO, Essa Anwar Al-Saleh – is a former Chairman of Kuwait’s Gulf Bank.  So he exercised significant power over Kuwaiti commerce and finance.

“And it appears Al-Saleh still does.  Agility is a KGL competitor – with the home nation advantage.  The Kuwaiti government appears to be (holding the Lazarevas and) freezing KGLs coin – to benefit Agility.”

In fact

“Agility, a Kuwait-based multi-billion dollar logistics company spawned by the U.S. invasion of Iraq….”

…we made Agility’s very existence possible.

Yet again – no appreciation.  Only antagonism.

Oh: Agility has a long history of screwing its clients.  Including US:

“The Defense Logistics Agency suspended Agility, which specializes in logistics, in November 2009 after its parent company Public Warehousing Company K.S.C. was indicted in Atlanta on $6 billion in fraud charges stemming from food services contracts for troops in Iraq, Kuwait and the Middle East region.”

Defense Contractor Resolves Criminal, Civil and Administrative Liability Related to Food Contracts:

“Agility Pays $95 Million and Gives Up $249 Million in Claims to (the US) DOD.”

So you have an ungrateful Kuwait – screwing a US company and its executive and thumbing its nose at US.

So as to benefit its crony, corrupt in-house company – that has already, repeatedly screwed US.

This cacophony of nonsense has dragged on, and on, and….

It is high time we bring it to an end.

Ingrate Kuwait has already held the advantage for far too long.

Please note: This piece has been updated.  We wrote Mrs. Lazareva and her son are being held captive in Kuwait.  They were – until she was finally released on bail.  Please forgive the error.

Koch Brothers Never Were Conservative

Sarah Palin was right about “Crony Capitalists.” The Headline reads, “Koch Network Willing to Back Dem. Candidates In 2020.” Well No Kidding!” In the June 7th issue of National Review Online, Jack Crowe announces what we’ve all known for a long time (well, at least for the 31 months since Donald J. Trump’s unexpected thrashing of the criminal crone from Chappaqua) the Koch Brothers never were conservatives.

From the article

Americans for Prosperity (AFP), the political arm of the billionaire Koch brothers’ sprawling influence network, which has traditionally confined its support to Republicans, plans to pursue a “bipartisan approach” when determining which candidates to back in the 2020 election cycle.

Crowe elaborates

In a memo distributed to employees Thursday and obtained by CNBC, AFP CEO Emily Seidel announced that the group will evaluate candidates entirely based on their support for its preferred policies without respect to party affiliation.

“AFP or AFP Action [the group’s super PAC] will be ready to engage contested U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and state-level primary races, including Republican, Democrat, Independent or otherwise, to support sitting legislators who lead by uniting with others to pass principled policy and get good things done,” Seidel’s memo said.

It gets better yet. Here is the money quote (emphasis, all mine)

The Koch network, collectively referred to as “Stand Together,” has struggled to find a political home since President Trump took office.

Imagine that! A political group that refuses to assist, nay actively undermines President Trump’s signature campaign issue: Immigration both legal and illegal, struggling “to find a home.”

If you want a home, I suggest you come out and actively support President Trump’s agenda. Here’s a challenge for you. How about you match Brian Kolfage’s GoFundMe effort, with a direct donation of your own to his citizen-supported Border Wall Program. If you do that, you’ll likely find the welcome mat out for you as you board the Trump Train. If you can’t bring yourself to help actively protect your fellow Americans, I suggest that you go ahead and come out of the closet and affiliate with the Democrats.

The latest Big Tech censorship news broke last week:

Facebook Bans Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, Other Far-Right Figures

Let us for the moment leave aside this massive media inanity:

“Farrakhan also among those removed from social-media sites.”

If Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is “far-right” – I’m all the way back around to Karl Marx.

That being said, the latest move by Big Tech to de-platform people they don’t like – cleaved the center-right in two…Donald Trump-style.

The Trump-Never Trump Venn Diagram – is a nigh perfect overlay with the division over Big Tech censorship.

The Never Trump (NT) contingent mostly refused to defend the de-platformed – mostly on three fronts.

One: The de-platformed aren’t themselves defensible.  Because by their NT definition – they aren’t actually conservatives.  And/or they simply do not like them.

Which is willful blindness to the inexorable next waves of Big Tech purges – which will undoubtedly swallow very many who meet their definitions.

Next the NTers – start REALLY sounding Leftist.

Two: The de-platformed’s speech – may actually incite violence.  That crazy people will read what they say – and commit violence as a result.

This is at once incredibly anti-First Amendment, Leftist and intellectually diminutive (please pardon the redundancy).

Crazy people – are crazy.  They can be driven to mad acts – by their refrigerator manual.  Or by a Rogaine commercial.  Or by a flower opening in their yard.  Serial killer David Berkowitz said he took his murderous orders – from a dog named Harvey owned by his neighbor Sam.

Westlake Legal Group censored-620x331 ‘In Bad Faith’: Big Tech’s Growing Conservative Censorship World Wide Web wireless Welfare Veterans Administration twitter trade Title II Reclassification Title II Time Warner tea party Taxes tax reform tax day Tax Tariffs tariff stop online piracy act STELA spectrum incentive auction spectrum auctions Spectrum SOPA social security Social Media slowdown Slow Lanes Shutdown Science Sales tax Russia collusion Robert McChesney Retransmission Consent Retransmission republicans Regulation reed hastings reclassification public broadband protect ip act Privacy PRISM President Barack Obama Portland Politics Policy PIPA patriot Obamacare Obama NSA News network neutrality Netflix Net Neutrality National Security Agency municipal broadband muni broadband merger Medicare Media Marxists MARK LLOYD Local Choice law july 12 day of action John Brennan james comey James Clapper IRS internet sales taxes Internet Sales Tax internet reclassification Internet Internal Revenue Service infrastructure spending Infrastructure Hillary Clinton HHS Health and Human Services government broadband Government Google Fiber Google gamers FTC Front Page Stories Front Page Free trade food stamps fiat Federal Trade Commission Federal Communications Commission FEC FCC Diversity Czar fcc chairman tom wheeler FCC Fast Lanes fast and furious farm policy farm law Farm Bill facebook evan greer EPA Environmental Protection Agency Endorsements elections Edward Snowden Ed Markey Economy Economics EBT donald trump Department of Agriculture democrats default debt ceiling crossfire hurricane Cronyism crony socialism crony capitalism critical infrastructure crime CRA Congressional Review Act comcast Chicago Campaigns Business & Economy Budget broadband April 15 AOC antitrust antifa amazon Alexandria Ocasio-Cotez Affordable Care Act acquisition #OccupyPortland “federal spending”

You simply can not sanitize the planet for crazy people.

And there is simply no way the threshold for violence-inciting speech – is this ridiculously low:

Conservative actor James Woods has been locked out of his Twitter account for now more than a week.  For curse-word-free quoting the TV show “The Wire.”

If it was on pay TV fifteen years ago – and available via streaming services ever since – there is no way Woods Tweeting it is even remotely problematic.

We’ll get into more, even more ridiculous examples in just a bit.

Three: The NTers say “These Big Tech monsters are private companies – and they can have or not have whomever they wish on their platforms.”

Under normal circumstances, this is exactly the First Amendment “freedom to assemble” argument I have made my entire life.

In our private and business lives, we are free to assemble – or not assemble – any way we wish.  Completely free from government interference or imposition.

I made this exact argument when the Colorado baker wouldn’t bake a homosexual wedding cake.  His lawyers made the “freedom of religion” argument – which worked, he won – but that was to me the weaker tack to take.

“It’s my private business…and I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone” – seems undeniably strong to me.

But when faced by monstrous Big Tech’s de-platforming – this argument simply does not apply.  For several reasons.

For starters – Big Tech isn’t making this argument:

“Facebook Inc. said it’s banning a number of controversial far-right figures…for violating the social-media company’s policies on hate speech and promoting violence.”

This is omni-directional absurd.

“Promoting violence” – ???

Gay gadfly Milo Yiannopoulos was among the recently Facebook banned.  He was also banned by Twitter in 2016.

Milo has to my knowledge – and I LOOKED prior to writing this – never said a single thing that could be even remotely construed to incite violence.

But what about Leftist radical group Antifa?

Antifa got a Milo appearance at Berkley University cancelled – by violently tearing up the campus the month prior to Milo’s arrival.

Here’s a bunch of videos of Antifa’s violent Berkley destruction.  Here’s more videos of Antifa violence – in Portland, Oregon, Huntington Beach, California, Laguna Beach, California, at Kent State University and elsewhere.  Here are two compilations of Antifa attacking people all over the place.

But Facebook – hasn’t banned Antifa.

So Milo tries to peacefully engage in free speech at Berkley.  Antifa responds with violence.

And Berkley, Twitter and Facebook – ban Milo, and keep Antifa.

That’s…a little backwards.

And “hate speech” – is speech.  You can’t ban the adjective – without banning the underlying noun.

And “hate” – is in the eye of the beholder.  And the beholder – has biases.  Because the beholder – is human(s).

Let’s do some basic math, shall we?

There are about seven-and-a-half billion people on Planet Earth.  Let’s conservatively say three billion of them have access to the Internet – which means access to Big Tech’s platforms.

There is literally no way a website with as many posting members as a Facebook or YouTube – can possibly read each and every post for possible deleting purposes.  There are simply WAY too many.

So the platforms will have to come up with some sort of criteria to preemptively prevent the kinds of posts they wish to prevent.

Well, Big Tech – is exceedingly hard Left.  So their criteria – will be exceedingly hard Left.

We could list examples…until the crack of Doom.

All of which brings us to: The 1996 Communications Decency Act – and its Section 230.

Which gives Big Tech companies running allegedly open platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube – immunity from the lawsuit likes of slander, libel and Intellectual Property (IP) infringement.

Because it is users – not the companies – posting on their platforms.

So if a user slanders someone on Facebook – Facebook must remove the post when made aware, but can not be sued for it.

If a user uploads an entire movie to YouTube – Google must remove it when made aware, but can not be sued for it.

Makes perfect sense.

Except: The Big Tech companies were given this massive immunity – in exchange for each being an open platform.

Where everyone can post – and the companies do not edit.

If the companies start editing content and users, they cease to be immunized “platforms” – and start to be sue-able “publishers.”

To wit: The New York Times is a publisher.  With First Amendment rights – including the freedom to assemble any way they wish.  But they can be sued for slander, libel and IP infringement.

Big Tech – can’t have it both ways.  Availing themselves of “platform” immunities – while editing conservatives out of existence like “publishers.”

Big Tech’s Lying Legal Two-Step – To Defend Their Censorship Of Conservatives

Here’s the portion of Section 230 – on which Big Tech seems to be hanging its anti-conservative hats:

“Civil liability:

“No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be held liable on account of—

“(A) any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected; or

“(B) any action taken to enable or make available to information content providers or others the technical means to restrict access to material described in paragraph.”

(Emphasis ours.)

If Big Tech’s censorship is done “in good faith” – they do not lose their lawsuit immunity.

No one with an IQ above nine on a warm day – can possibly think Big Tech is censoring “in good faith.”

I’m no lawyer (thank God) – but there are several ways to address the monster, censoring monoliths these Big Tech companies have become.

Certainly antitrust is one.  (We have, in fact, made this argument also – for several years.)

Ok – Milo is kicked off of Twitter and Facebook.  What competitors to these two behemoths can he join instead?  You can’t think of a single reasonable one for either – and neither can I.

Really long second shot: We may even be able to use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act:

“(C)ommonly referred to as the RICO Act or simply RICO,…focuses specifically on racketeering and allows the leaders of a syndicate to be tried for the crimes they ordered others to do or assisted them in doing, closing a perceived loophole that allowed a person who instructed someone else to, for example, murder, to be exempt from the trial because they did not actually commit the crime personally.”

But where we should certainly start – is Big Tech’s wanton and blatant violations of Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act.

I’ve been told by a Never Trump attorney that it is impossible to prove “bad faith” in court.

I’d argue I just did here in print.

But if it’s true this part of the law is unenforceable – then the law is an ass.

We should throw it out – and pass something enforceable in its place.

We must do something about what’s happening.

Because what’s happening – ain’t great for the future of our nation.

Energy: More Anti-Federalism State-Level Leftist Impediments to National Progress

We have repeatedly discussed federalism – and its rightful definition:

“A system of government in which power is divided between a central authority and constituent political units.”

In America, per our Constitution, that means the central authority (the federal government) does certain, specific, expressly enumerated things.

And the rest – comprised of MOST things – belongs elsewhere:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Leftists – really don’t like federalism.  Because it serves to limit government.

Of course the Left will ignore or cite federalism – whenever and wherever. So long as whatever they claim – increases the power of government somewhere.

The Left’s Warped, Ridiculously Fake Federalism

Sure, Leftists will cite federalism – when it is states and/or municipalities trying to expand government power beyond the nigh limitless bounds to which the federal government has already expanded.

And the Left will cite federalism incorrectly – when the states and municipalities are trying to expand government over which The Feds have actual, Constitutional control.

Of course, the Left will also flip the federalism script – if it impedes actual progress for America.

To wit: Energy policy.

America is a nation that runs on actual energy: coal, oil, natural gas and occasionally nuclear.

Unfortunately, we waste tons of time and money screwing around with fake energy: wind, solar, biofuel, etc.

Insane states like California and New York are trying to make a go of it with mostly fake energy – and it is killing their economies.

But the rest of us can do math – so we want to continue to enjoy the real energy revolution President Donald Trump has incepted.

The U.S. Just Became a Net Oil Exporter for the First Time in 75 Years

United States Has Been a Net Exporter of Natural Gas for More than 12 Consecutive Months

Energy policy – is quite obviously in the federal government’s purview.

Our sovereign nation should have one federal slate of energy policies – and our federal government should negotiate terms for international interaction with the rest of the planet.

Insane states – are messing with this obviousness.  And not only are they flipping federalism upside down – they are blatantly violating the Constitution’s Interstate Commerce Clause:

“The Commerce Clause was – like all of the Constitution – a government-limiting entry. It was written to prevent states from big-government-imposing barriers to interstate commerce.

“’How to Understand the Commerce Clause in One Simple Sentence:

“‘Congress has the authority to regulate trade between the states; or in other words, the process of goods and services moving from one state to another. Not the products themselves. Not the process of creating those products. Just the act of the products moving from state to state. That’s it.’”

To get our oil and gas around the nation – and to the world – we need pipelines.  They are the interstate highways of energy.

And some insane, anti-actual-energy state-level politicians – are unconstitutionally screwing with our pipelines.

Not just because they’re Leftists – but because they’re funded-by-the-Left Leftists.

One of the very many myths in politics – is ideas chase money.  It is almost always the other way round – money chases ideas.

Barack Obama wasn’t a free market conservative – until Leftist terrorist William Ayers threw him a fundraiser in his home.  At which point Obama flipped – and went on to be the most Leftist president in our history.

That flip happens – but very, very rarely.  What happened was:

Obama was a hardcore Leftist.  Leftist terrorist Ayers liked the cut of Obama’s jib (please pardon the sailing reference) – and hosted in his home a fundraiser for Obama.

Money chases ideas – not the other way round.

And sometimes – the political cash simply purchases wanton government cronyism.

Meet Democrat Pennsylvania state Senator Andy Dinniman.

Pennsylvania Lawmaker Opposed To Pipeline Took Money From Company Suing It:

“A Pennsylvania state senator opposing a pipeline project in his district has accepted nearly $80,000 in campaign donations from a developer suing the energy company behind the project.”

Let us pause to point out:

To those of us exclusively used to dealing with federal government dollars – $80,000 doesn’t sound like very much at all.  But at the state level – that is a LOT of campaign coin.  And state-level pols can get REALLY cozy with just one funder – WAY more than can federal pols.

The piece continues:

“Democratic state Sen. Andy Dinniman is one of the chief opponents to the Mariner East pipeline project by the energy company Sunoco….

“Dinniman’s campaign for years has been backed by the real estate developer Hankin Group, another principal party opposing the pipeline.

“The Hankin Group filed a lawsuit against Sunoco in February to force the energy company off four Hankin Group properties where the pipeline is being constructed.”

Did you get that?  “(W)here the pipeline is being constructed.”

That means – construction is already underway.  Which means – it has already been multi-government approved.

Any of us who have ever applied for a government permit for ANYTHING – know what a giant pain in the rear end that process is.

Imagine the heinous nightmare – that is applying for the very many permits required to build a petroleum pipeline.  And you must do it – with dozens of governments in multiple states.

This pipeline has run all-the-governments’-gauntlets – and been green lit.

And now this bought-off state-level hack Dinniman – is trying to retroactively stop it.

Leftists love lobbing ridiculous vitriol in opposition to actual energy – just as much as they loathe actual energy.

Behold – the Nazi card being played.  Meet Democrat Pennsylvania state Representative Danielle Friel Otten.

Pa. Lawmaker Faces Backlash for Bringing Nazis into Pipeline Debate

“On Saturday, Chester County Democrat Danielle Friel Otten got in a Twitter exchange with a pro-pipeline group.

“She’d been supporting protesters who were using cars to block pipeline work….

“During the protest, the Pennsylvania Energy Infrastructure Alliance tweeted that protesters were preventing workers from doing their jobs.

“In a now-deleted tweet, Friel Otten responded that ‘The Nazis were just doing their jobs too.’…”

Ahh, yes.  American citizen employees of American companies – trying to get to their gigs in America.  Which about fourteen different governments have given them permits and permission to do.

Which is JUST like the Nazis.

State Senator Dinniman is bought.

State Representative Otten is nuts.

They’re both championing the same Leftist nonsense.

They’re both anti-actual-energy, anti-sanity, anti-Reality and anti-Constitution.

Because they’re both anti-already-approved, national-energy-policy pipeline.

They both need to get out of the way.

And their Quaker State (SWIDT?) constituents – should un-elect them both at their next available opportunity.

I’m Not a Globalist – But We Absolutely Should Protect Americans Abroad

The globalism debate – finally arrived in DC in or about 2015.

After percolating for decades in what DC considers America’s hinterlands – which is the vast expanse of America between its coasts.

Globalism – per the dictionary:

“The development of social, cultural, technological, or economic networks that transcend national boundaries; globalization.”

Globalism per DC:

At least a half century spent subjugating US interests – to every other nation on the planet.  So as to expedite the exodus of American companies – to cheaper locales abroad.

DC didn’t care if other countries screwed US with massive tariffs, import limits and domestic subsidies.  Because the companies whose bidding they were doing – didn’t care.

Because these companies were already out of America – and in those other countries.  And those countries’ tariffs, import limits and subsidies – were now helping them…rather than hurting them.

Meanwhile, US domestic policy kept getting worse and worse.  We kept jacking taxes and piling up regulations.

And companies, rather than fight for governmental sanity – fled the insanity and followed their cohorts abroad.

Lather, rinse, repeat for fifty years – and you get President Donald Trump.

Thanks to President Donald Trump, we are rightly rolling back this half-century-plus of abject governmental stupidity.  Companies are returning to our shores in droves.

However….

We have a LONG way to go to undo all the damage done.  Even if the Trump approach is applied for decades – there will still be companies that should be here…that are still over there.

And, of course, there will always be American companies that do business abroad.  Because even the most passionate nationalist (which I consider myself to be) – knows there is money to be made out there beyond our borders.

And as has always been the case:

It is the job of the American government to protect American citizens – no matter where they are.  Absolutely including when they are engaged in commercial activities.

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison – our third and fourth Presidents – absolutely thought so:

“The Barbary Wars were a series of conflicts that culminated in two wars fought at different times over the same reasons between the United States, Sweden, and the Barbary states (the de jure possessions of the Ottoman Empire, but de facto independent, Tunis, Algiers, and Tripoli) of North Africa in the late 18th and early 19th centuries….

“At issue was the Barbary pirates’ demand for tribute from American merchant vessels in the Mediterranean Sea. If ships of a given country failed to pay, pirates would attack the ship and take their goods, and often enslave crew members or hold them for ransom.

“When Thomas Jefferson became President of the United States in March 1801, he refused to pay tribute and sent a United States Naval fleet to the Mediterranean; the fleet bombarded various fortified pirate cities in present-day Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria, ultimately extracting concessions of fair passage from their rulers.

“James Madison, Jefferson’s successor, directed military forces for the second war in 1815, shortly after the conclusion of the War of 1812 against the British.”

US businesses were getting screwed.  And Jefferson and Madison – had their backs.

Two-centuries-plus later – we still face the exact same problem.

America First – Must Include Demanding Foreign Govs Unfreeze Americans’ Coin:

“(US company) KGL (Investment has) made much of its money in Kuwait – and now wants to return much of it to the US.

“Enter Middle East cronyism.

“The Kuwaiti and Dubai governments – have frozen KGLs coin for no reason whatsoever.  Well, no legitimate reason.

“Behold Agility Logistics.  A Kuwaiti company – with close ties to the Kuwaiti government.  Agility’s CEO, Essa Anwar Al-Saleh – is a former Chairman of Kuwait’s Gulf Bank.  So he exercised significant power over Kuwaiti commerce and finance.

“And it appears Al-Saleh still does.  Agility is a KGL competitor – with the home court advantage.  The Kuwaiti government appears to be freezing KGLs coin – to benefit Agility.”

“Not satisfied with crucifying just the company – Kuwait is going after its executives.

“When Leaders Land In Jail: Prominent Gulf Businesswoman Gets Ten Years, Vows To Appeal:

“Marsha Lazareva, (chief executive and vice-chairman of the private equity group KGL Investment), has vowed to appeal her conviction for misusing public funds in Kuwait after being sentenced to ten years hard labor.”

“‘Ten years hard labor’ – ain’t Club Fed.

“Lazareva is a Russian national – but she has a five-year-old America-born child.  And the charges against her – appear to be as bogus as those against her company.”

It certainly seems so.

Kuwait Government Faces International Tribunal over Jailing of Russian Businesswoman:

“Lazareva(’s)…lawyers…say the charges brought against her were ‘demonstrably false’ and the case amounted to a ‘show trial.’…

“Her lawyers say she was denied access to one of the hearings and on other occasions the defence team was not permitted to introduce its own witnesses and was refused access to critical documents….

“‘Ms. Lazareva is the subject and victim of a politically-motivated vendetta initiated by powerful persons and entities, as well as competitors and rivals in Kuwait, against KGLI, KGL, and TPF,’ the (lawyers’) notice says.”

This is orders-of-magnitude bogus:

“Kuwait is attempting to smear as many KGLI people as possible – in an attempt to make their crony garbage case against KGLI look less like crony garbage.

“This heinousness began in 2018.  More than a year later – Kuwait ain’t behaving any better.

“Despite the fact the contingent demanding Lazareva’s release – keeps getting bigger.

“Kuwait Refuses Release of Female CEO Held Over a Year on False Charges:

“‘The Port Fund confirmed today that a Kuwait court has refused to release Marsha Lazareva, a prominent member of the international business community, who has been subject to unlawful detention and other human rights violations for the past 15 months.’”

President Trump – absolutely needs to do what Presidents Jefferson and Madison did.

Protect our citizens – and their businesses.

And when real heinousness arises – get them out of hostile foreign hands.

Manufacturing is Back – Now We Need a Food Manufacturing Restoration

When President Donald Trump was Candidate Donald Trump – he promised a restoration of the US manufacturing sector.

Which his predecessor – thankfully-ex-president Barack Obama – dismissed as impossible:

“When somebody says – like the person you just mentioned, who I’m not going to advertise for – that he’s going to bring all these jobs back.  Well, how exactly are you going to do that?  What are you going to do?  There’s no answer to it.  He just says ‘Well, I’m going to negotiate a better deal.’  Well, how exactly are you going to negotiate that?  What magic wand do you have?  And usually the answer is – he doesn’t have an answer.”

Undaunted by Obama and the Downers, just after winning election – Trump yet again teed up his administration:

“Our goal as a nation must be to rely less on imports – and more on products made here in the USA….This is our mantra: Buy American – and hire American….Our country is all about making dreams come true.  Over the last number of years – that hasn’t been necessarily the case.  But we’re going to make it the case again….My focus has been all about jobs.  And jobs is one of the primary reasons I’m standing here today as your President.”

Two years hence, it would appear Trump is a combination of Merlin and Gandalf – wielding magic wands aplenty.

The Trump Manufacturing Jobs Boom: 10 Times Obama’s Over 21 Months

Things do not appear to be slowing down.

Trump’s Policy ‘Magic Wand’ Boosts Manufacturing Jobs 399% In First 26 Months Over Obama’s Last 26

All of which is, of course, spectacular news.

The world has spent the last half century-plus – totally tilting the global market playing field against us.

Titanically stupidly – we have been allowing the world to do it.

Which Citizen Trump spent decades pointing out.  Here he is on The Oprah Winfrey Show – in 1988:

“We let Japan come in and dump everything right into our markets.  And it’s not free trade.  If you go to Japan right now and try to sell something – forget about it, Oprah.  Just forget about it.  It’s almost impossible.  They don’t have laws against it – they just make it impossible.  They come over here – they sell their cars, their VCRs.  They knock the hell out of our companies.  And hey – I have tremendous respect for the Japanese people.  You can respect someone who is beating the hell out of you.  But they are beating the hell out of this country.”

Oprah says “This sounds like presidential talk” – and asks if he’ll ever run.  To which Trump responds:

“Probably not.  But I do get tired of seeing the country ripped off….I do get tired of seeing what’s happening to this country.  And if it got so bad – I would never want to rule it out totally.  Because I really am tired of seeing what’s happening to this country.  How we’re really making other people live like kings – and we’re not.”

(Certainly sounds like a guy who would sell out to the Russians to get elected, does it not?  What a bunch of idiots those people are.)

Flash forward three decades – and Citizen Trump…is now President Trump.

Stupid Trade Policy Isn’t the Only Reason We Lose Jobs – But It’s a Big One

Crony Socialism: Governments All Over the World Are Messing Up a Free Trade Market

Trump Rightly Demands End to All Trade Tariffs And Subsidies – of Everyone

President Trump’s chief weapon to better the trade playing field – has been the tariff.  Dishing out an infinitesimal amount – of what we have been taking on the chin by the ton for decades.

The DC People who allowed the global market to become so anti-free trade and anti-American – freaked the heck out.  Bizarrely, in the name of “free trade.”

Is Trump’s Protectionism The Death Knell For Global Free Trade?

There’s a Glaring Problem with Trump’s Trade War that Could Drag out the Fight Indefinitely

As Trump Ponders Auto Tariffs, Free-Trade Republicans Push Back

And the DC People – were dead wrong.  And they STILL don’t get it.  To wit:

Despite Trump’s Tariff and Border Threats, Mexico Is Now the Largest U.S. Trading Partner

Not “DESPITE Trump’s tariffs” – “BECAUSE OF Trump’s tariffs.”  Trump put pressure on Mexico – and Mexico buckled.

It’s happening – all over the world.

Trump Tells EU’s Juncker He Seeks ‘Reciprocal’ Trade

No Deal: EU Resists Trump’s Zero-Tariff Trade Offer, Prepares New List of Sanctions to Add Pressure

Except less than seventy-two hours after that latter headline….

Trump and EU Officials Agree to Work Toward ‘Zero Tariff’ Deal

It’s almost like – no, it’s exactly like – Trump was right all along.

And despite Trump’s tariffs – oh wait…BECAUSE OF Trump’s tariffs – how’s our economy doing?

U.S. Economy Grows 3.2% in the First Quarter, Well Above Estimates

“Well above estimates?”  Oh look – the DC People were wrong AGAIN.  Shocker.

Just as we globally trade just about every other commodity – we globally trade food.

And just as we have with every other commodity and their manufacturers – we have allowed the rest of the planet to screw our farmers…and the rest of us.  To wit:

Tiny Thailand’s 2016 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was $407 billion.  Tiny Thailand subsidies sugar – just sugar – at $1.3 billion per year.  Which has ably assisted tiny Thailand – to cheat its way controlling 10% of the global market.

That’s nothing.  Bigger Brazil’s 2016 GDP was $1.8 trillion.  Bigger Brazil subsidizes sugar – just sugar – between $2.5 and $4 billion per annum.  Which has ably assisted bigger Brazil – to cheat its way to controlling almost 50% of the global market.

More than one hundred countries sell sugar on the global market.  Two countries – control 60% of that market.  Because they government-money-cheated their way to the top.

We import sugar.  Which means we are importing the government-money-poison Brazil and Thailand are injecting.

Which is obscenely unfair to our farmers.

Brazil’s subsidies – allow them to charge 20% less for their crop.  Thailand’s subsidies – allow them to charge about 10% less for their crop.

Which is obscenely unfair to our farmers.

Thankfully, Trump is also looking to straighten out the farm market.  To wit:

Trump Looks for End to Japan Farm Tariffs Ahead of Two Visits:

“President Donald Trump urged Japan to end tariffs on U.S. farm products when he met Prime Minister Shinzo Abe….

“‘We’ll be discussing very strongly agriculture because as the prime minister knows Japan puts very massive tariffs on agriculture, our agriculture, for many years, going into Japan, and we want to get rid of those tariffs,’ Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with Abe on Friday.”

Trump REALLY needs to have a sugar talk with Brazil’s new president.  Methinks he might find him receptive.

Conservative Jair Bolsonaro Elected President of Brazil

Jair Bolsonaro: Brazil’s Firebrand Leader Dubbed the Trump of the Tropics

The Great Brazilian Foreign Policy Realignment:

“If Jair Bolsonaro continues to push for privatization in infrastructure and a drastic reduction in red tape, then foreign investment will likely follow.”

And actual free trade will follow as well.

For sugar – and everything else.

Which would be a whole lot fairer for manufacturers – food and all others – everywhere.

Most importantly – here in the US.

Most importantly – because #AmericaFirst.

This has been an absolute truth for at least the last half century:

If something is good for America and Americans – it is bad for Leftists.

The Left is in the misery business.

In order for the Left to achieve and hold on to power – things must be awful.  Or they must lie – and say things are awful when they are not.

To foster this latter massive falsehood – Leftists concoct many less-massive falsehoods.

We import more than a million foreigners per year – yet the Left screeches we are a racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant nation.

We just finished two terms of a black president – yet the Left screeches we are in times worse than the days of Jim Crow.

We just had a very impressive 3.2% Gross Domestic Product (GDP) first quarter.  A continued, massive economic expansion – in the face of widespread “expert” predictions of a looming recession.

Unemployment is at a near record low.  Speaking of “racism” – Black and Hispanic unemployment is at their lowest respective rates…since we began recording such numbers.

Wages are increasing at rates significantly greater than they have at any point during the preceding half century.

The Donald Trump Economy – is roaring.

Unfortunately for the twenty Democrat presidential candidates (so far) – they have to run against it.  So they have to pretend the very may significant improvements upon the Democrat Barack Obama Economy – aren’t actually happening.

Should the Trump Economy continue roaring as we head into the 2020 election – we will be subjected to the biggest Media-Left (please pardon the redundancy) gaslighting in the history of gaslighting:

“(A) form of psychological manipulation that seeks to sow seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or in members of a targeted group, making them question their own memory, perception, and sanity.

“Using persistent denial, misdirection, contradiction, and lying, it attempts to destabilize the victim and delegitimize the victim’s belief.”

If you want a less esoteric explanation – I give you the Marx Brothers:

“Well, who you gonna believe? Me or your own eyes?”

Sometimes things are so antithetical to the Left’s lies – they simply can not continue lying after the fact.

I give you – the Internet.  And the very many lies the Left tells about Network Neutrality.

Disingenuously in its name, the Obama Administration in 2015 unilaterally imposed 1934 landline telephone law upon the Internet.

In 2017, the Trump Administration prepared to undo this titanic stupidity.  And the Media-Left – went completely insane in their attempts to set up the gaslighting.

Except the Trump Administration undid the Obama power and grab, and….nothing bad happened.  NONE of the very many negatives above – transpired.  The Internet after – was identical to the Internet before.

Oh – except private sector investment in the Internet shot back up to pre-Obama-power-grab levels…and beyond.  And as investment increased – Internet speeds increased.

All very good things for America and Americans.  All very bad things for the Media-Left.

The post-Trump-freedom-restoration Internet has been so outstanding – even the Media-Left’s massive mendacity…was exceeded by reality.

As dishonest as they are – they couldn’t bring themselves to try to lie about what is actually happening.

Except here comes another opportunity for the Media-Left to drum up one of their oldie-but-goodie lies – the “Internet fast lane.”

Cox Cable Testing a Form of ‘Fast Lane’ Internet For Gamers

And just like with everything else – this development is good news for America and Americans.  Which means it’s bad news for Leftists.

That phrase “fast lane” – is itself a misrepresentation of how the Internet actually works.  And the Left makes up the phrase “fast lane” – so as to then lie and say we’ll all be consigned to a made up “slow lane.”

After Net Neutrality, Brace for Internet ‘Fast Lanes’:

“Now that federal telecom regulators have repealed net neutrality, it may be time to brace for the arrival of internet ‘fast lanes’ and ‘slow lanes.’

Net Neutrality’s Repeal Means Fast Lanes Could Be Coming to the Internet. Is That a Good Thing?:

“The concept, known as paid prioritization, involves a telecommunications company charging an additional fee to transport a video stream or other content at a higher speed through its network.”

“Paid prioritization” – exists…everywhere else on Planet Earth:

“(T)he examples of private sector ‘paid prioritization’ ‘fast lanes’ – are nigh endless. Let’s examine just one.

“When you send a letter or package – are you limited to one delivery speed? Of course not.

“To chose but one private sector provider at random:

“UPS offers seven different delivery options: UPS Next Day Air Early, UPS Next Day Air, UPS Next Day Air Saver, UPS 2nd Day Air A.M., UPS 2nd Day Air, UPS 3 Day Select and UPS Ground.

“Heck, the government post office offers five different delivery options – right there on its government website.

“These are all variations of ‘paid prioritization’ ‘fast lanes.’ And no one is demanding the government ban them – because anyone who would do so would look titanically stupid.”

And guess what?  The Left only wants to ban “fast lanes” – for Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

The much-more-massive, massive-bandwidth-hog Big Tech companies like Google and Facebook – who shovel lots and LOTS of money to the Left?  They not only can have “fast lanes” – they already do:

(T)here are hundreds of thousands (millions?) of them – and they have for years and years been an intrinsic part of the World Wide Web.

“Behold the Content Delivery Network (CDN): ‘(A) geographically distributed network of proxy servers and their data centers. The goal is to distribute service spatially relative to end-users to provide high availability and high performance….

“‘CDNs are a layer in the internet ecosystem. Content owners such as media companies and e-commerce vendors pay CDN operators to deliver their content to their end users. In turn, a CDN pays ISPs, carriers, and network operators for hosting its servers in their data centers.’

“Get all the facets of this particular Leftist lie?

“‘Fast lanes’ – aren’t actually fast lanes. And they are nothing new. They have nigh always been intrinsically woven into the Internet fabric.

“And the Left only wants to ban the practice for their political enemies – while allowing their political cronies to continue to build and use them unabated. Enjoy some cronyism with your delusion.”

Per the gamers: They use a LOT of bandwidth when they play other gamers online.  And they are very much concerned with “latency”:

“Latency = delay. It’s the amount of delay (or time) it takes to send information from one point to the next. Latency is usually measured in milliseconds or ms. It’s also referred to (during speed tests) as a ping rate.”

Latency is the amount of time between a gamer hitting a controller button – and the computer recognizing and executing his push of said button.  Longer latency – gets you killed or beaten.  Thus, gamers are incessantly obsessing about latency.

And yet again, the marketplace – is trying to accommodate.

Cox Cable Testing a Form of ‘Fast Lane’ Internet For Gamers

Ok – let’s use the Left’s disingenuous terminology.  To demonstrate how incredibly stupid the Left’s objections are.

Giving gamers their own “lane” – gets them off the “main roads” with all the additional traffic slowing them down.  Less traffic – less latency.  Good for gamers.

And getting gamers off the “main roads” – is better for everyone else.  Because those massive bandwidth hogs – won’t be hogging the “main roads’” bandwidth.  Leaving much more for the rest of us.

Charging bandwidth hog gamers a little more for all the bandwidth they’re hogging – is only fair.  You pay more at the grocery store for fifty steaks – than you do for five.

Which, by the way, ends our subsidizing gamers’ bandwidth hogging.

And a whole lot of that additional money – will be invested in ever-improving the networks we all use.

All of which – is nothing more than the creation of more CDNs.

Which have existed for decades – and already exist in the millions.

All of which is very good for America and Americans.

But very bad for the Net Neutrality-fetishizing, anti-free market, gaslighting Left.

Apple Finally Admits They’ve Been Stealing Billions of Dollars from Qualcomm for Years

In February 2017, iMonster Apple (Market Cap: $970 billion) stopped paying Qualcomm for the patented technologies Qualcomm invented – and Apple used in their wireless devices.

Please note: Apple had signed multiple contracts – in which they agreed to pay Qualcomm for permission to use the patented technologies Qualcomm invented.

Please also note: Apple continued to subsequently sell millions of wireless devices – for tens of billions of dollars – containing the patented technologies Qualcomm invented.  For which Apple had signed multiple contracts – in which they agreed to pay Qualcomm for permission to use the patented technologies Qualcomm invented.

Lawsuits immediately sprung up here in the United States – and all over the world.

Rotten Apple

Filed by Apple to try to get out of the contracts they themselves signed – in which they agreed to pay Qualcomm for permission to use the patented technologies Qualcomm invented.

And filed by Qualcomm – to get Apple to pay their contractually agreed-to patent leasing payments.

Let us put these patent payments in their proper tech perspective.

Without Qualcomm’s inventions – an iPhone is very little more than a skinny rotary phone.

Qualcomm has been single-handedly delivering the US global leadership in all things wireless for about two decades.

Qualcomm invented the way wireless devices connect to the Internet – and never again looked back.

Qualcomm led US to 3G (Third Generation wireless), then 4G – and now has us on the brink of 5G.  And they did it all by their onesies – and did it all before the rest of the entire planet.

Let us put these payments in their proper monetary perspective.

Much like Apple’s going all-in with Communist China – its stealing from Qualcomm was short-term cheap – and long-term stupid.

An Apple iPhone X retails for $1,000.  On which Apple was contractually obligated to pay Qualcomm – around $13.  Or 1.3%.

In order to save this infinitesimal 1.3% – Apple may very well have destroyed the entire patent royalties process here in the US.

We are in the very early stages of the burgeoning Information Economy.  Destroying intellectual property protection – and thus its creation – is even more titanically stupid now than it was before.  And it was titanically stupid before.  Though Communist China would LOVE it.

Apple then went one step further in its thievery.  It reversed engineered Qualcomm’s tech – and illegally taught Intel how to replicate it.

Intel having spent the last two decades proving they couldn’t create it – absolutely not as well or as rapidly as Qualcomm.  Which is why Apple has been using Qualcomm’s tech – and not Intel’s.

And now – as Qualcomm delivers us to 5G – Inferior Intel is throwing in the towel on 5G:

“Intel has suddenly announced it’s not even going to try building 5G modems for smartphones.

“Apple had attempted to replace Qualcomm as a supplier for its modem chips with Intel, but reported issues with implementing 5G tech were a reason it’s not expected to appear in an iPhone this year.

“In a statement, Intel said it ‘does not expect to launch 5G modem products in the smartphone space, including those originally planned for launches in 2020.’”

5G – is the only wireless game in town for the next several years.  And Intel – can’t even get itself into the game.

We all knew Intel was inferior.  And by “all” – I absolutely mean Apple.

Apple (Publicly) Said Qualcomm’s Tech Was No Good. But in Private Communications, It Was ‘The Best.’

Which, again, is why Apple was paying Qualcomm to lease it.

Apple – was running a VERY long con:

Apple Hatched Years-Long Plan to Reduce Royalty Payments to Qualcomm, Documents Reveal:

“Apple…was aiming to sue Qualcomm as far back as 2014….

“‘Engineering wise, they (Qualcomm) have been the best,’ said Apple’s senior VP of hardware, Johny Srouji, in a March 2015 email….Another document shown in court, a 2009 internal Apple memo from an accountant, stated that Qualcomm is ‘widely considered the owner of the strongest patent portfolio for essential and relevant patents for wireless standards.’

“Apple decided it wouldn’t sue Qualcomm until after the end of 2016, when Qualcomm would’ve paid out billions of dollars under their exclusive partnership….A third Apple document from June 2016 was labeled ‘Qualcomm Royalty Reduction,’ with one section explicitly stating ‘Goal: Reduce Apple’s net royalty to Qualcomm.’

“The strategy was to ‘hurt Qualcomm financially’ and ‘put Qualcomm’s licensing model at risk,’ the document said. Apple didn’t launch its first lawsuit against Qualcomm until January 2017, at which point it argued that Qualcomm not only owed nearly $1 billion in royalty rebates but maintained abusive practices forcing chip buyers to sign patent license agreements.”

Again: Short-term cheap – long-term STOOPID.  If Apple kills Qualcomm – the iPhone goes back to being a skinny rotary phone.  How does that help Apple?  Or the rest of us?

How does killing the patent license model – help anyone here in the US?  Though Communist China would LOVE it.

Apple tried to all sorts of small cons – to help them make the big con:

Court Documents Show Apple Purposefully Bought Pools of Cheap Patents to Help Make Qualcomm’s Royalty Demands Appear Overpriced

These patents were cheap – because the tech wasn’t particularly valuable.  I wonder if any were from Intel?

Apple’s court debacle – certainly explains Apple’s very next move:

Apple Paid Up to $6 Billion to Settle with Qualcomm:

“Apple paid a high price to end a bitter legal battle that spanned multiple continents and threatened Apple’s ability to release a 5G iPhone and put pressure on Qualcomm’s licensing business model that contributes over half of the company’s profit.”

All of this Apple-and-US-economy-threatening cataclysmic idiocy.

So that a $970-billion-market-cap company – could try to illegally not pay $13 on a $1,000 phone.

This was SERIOUSLY short-term cheap – and long-term stupid.

Wisdom – is eternal.  Because it is so rare a commodity – it is treasured by all who actually like and respect all that is good.

Stupidity – is also eternal.  Because we are humans – and humans are flawed.  All who actually like and respect all that is good – try their best to minimize the stupidities…and ensure we at the very least not repeat any.

The political Left – loathes all that is good.  They actively attack it – and whenever possible erase it from history.

The old saw – is true:

“To anger a conservative, lie to him.  To anger a liberal, tell him the truth.”

The Left doesn’t like truth.  They don’t like wisdom.  They don’t like intelligence.  They actively attack all of it – whenever and wherever it arises.  And respond to all of it – the way vampires respond to sunlight.

Very rudimentary science tells us that when a human sperm meets a human egg – it instantaneously (barring a huge genetic mishap) makes a human.  Point that out to a Leftist – and watch the insanity ensue.

Very rudimentary science tells us that when a human sperm meets a human egg – it instantaneously (barring a huge genetic mishap) makes a human that is either male or female.  The chromosomes dictate – XX or XY.  Point that out to a Leftist – and watch the insanity ensue.

Please keep all of this Leftist nonsense in mind – when next the Left accuses the Right of being “anti-science.”

Human beings have spent the last 10,000 or so years trying all sorts of ways to organize themselves together.  Call it community, society…whatever.  What it nigh always is – is government.  Some wise truisms have ensued:

“Government, although intended to protect and preserve society, has itself a strong tendency to disorder and abuse of its powers, as all experience and almost every page of history testify.”  — John C. Calhoun

“Government is not reason; it is not eloquence. It is force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”  — George Washington

“Government is an association of men who do violence to the rest of us.”  — Leo Tolstoy

“Government is the great fiction through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else.”  — Frédéric Bastiat

“I believe that all government is evil, and that trying to improve it is largely a waste of time.”   — H. L. Mencken

The last thing anyone – in 2019, 10,000 years of humanity in – should want to do…is have government try to “help” us.

Because government is incapable of doing so.  And because it always, inexorably leads to tyranny:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”  — C.S. Lewis

“The welfare of humanity is always the alibi of tyrants.”  — Albert Camus

When the United States’ federal government spends $4.5 trillion per year – and the states and municipalities another trillion or two more per annum – there is a WHOLE LOT of government “helping” being attempted.

It is a long, unbroken line of unmitigated disasters.  Resulting in one titanic mess – with our entire nation collapsing under the weight of the accrued failure.

The disasters are of all sizes – and take on all forms.

And like the Left, the Media (please pardon the redundancy) loathe our attempts to minimize the damage they’re doing.

To wit – this recent spate of headlines.  Predicated upon a Leftist report – conducted by Leftists.

Report: 26 States Now Ban or Restrict Community Broadband

Municipal Broadband Is Roadblocked Or Outlawed In 26 States

Telcoms Lobbyists Have Convinced 26 States to Ban or Restrict Municipal Broadband

26 U.S. States Ban or Restrict Local Broadband Initiatives

Laws Prohibit or Restrict Municipal Broadband Networks in 20-Plus States

Apparently this last guy can’t count all the way to 26.

“Community broadband,” “municipal broadband,” “local broadband” – it all means government broadband.

Government pretending to be a Comcast or Verizon – and attempting to provide Internet access.

Government broadband – has been an unmitigated disaster.

The Internet ‘Stimulus’-Just as Destructive as the Rest of the ‘Stimulus’

Municipal Broadband Efforts Have Produced Failures

Municipal Broadband Fails – Again

Despite Glossy Reports, Muni Broadband is Still a Net Money Loser

Lake County Another Example of Failed Municipal Broadband

What Other Cities Should Learn from Philly’s Failed Municipal Broadband Effort

There’s even at least one website – dedicated to cataloguing the very many government fails:

Broadband Boondoggles: A Map of Failed Taxpayer-Funded Networks:

“For decades, local governments have made promises of faster and cheaper broadband networks. Unfortunately, these municipal networks often don’t deliver or fail, leaving taxpayers to foot the bill. Explore the map to learn about the massive debt, waste and broken promises left behind by these failed government networks.”

The Media-Left’s unanimous complaint?

Twenty-six states have watched the train wreck disasters that have been attempts at government broadband – and decided to staunch or stop the bleeding.

And the Media-Left – is angry at the impediments to continued, all-encompassing government failure.

Because the Media-Left doesn’t like truth.  They don’t like wisdom.  They don’t like intelligence.

And they don’t like success.

For those of us who seek to better things for humanity – who understand humans, human nature and 10,000 years of our history – the question isn’t why 26 states have done this.

The question is – why haven’t the other 24?

The US Respects Religious Holidays – Parts of the World Don’t Reciprocate

The United States goes out of its way – in as many ways as possible – to respect all the religions of the world.

In ways large and small, our government hails, praises…and defers to…the planet’s many faiths.

To be clear: Not only do I not have any problem at all with this – I find it to be quite nice.

I love the fact our nation and its government were founded upon acknowledgement of  – and appreciation for – the transcendent.

Our government officials regularly noting many religious holidays and special occasions – is eminently in keeping with our traditions.  And I find it to be really quite nice.

We’ll just use the Donald Trump Administration’s very many examples – as our examples.  But you can go back decades – and see similar things from many previous administrations.

Remarks by President Trump at Diwali Ceremonial Lighting of the Diya

Statement by the Press Secretary on the Anniversary of the Birth of Guru Nanak Devji

Our celebrations also, of course, include Islam.

Statement from President Donald J. Trump on Ramadan

We do this not just here – but all over the world.  Wherever we go – we go out of our way to defer to the locals’ religion(s) and their holy days.

With Islam: So far out of our way – we halt military operations in Afghanistan.

U.S. to Honor Kabul’s Unilateral Ramadan Ceasefire with Taliban

And halt Islamist terrorist prosecutions.

U.S. Stops Terrorist Trials for Ramadan, but the Terrorists Don’t Stop Killing

And aye – there’s the rub.

We’re very deferential to the world’s religions.  Parts of the world – rarely reciprocate.

To wit: Sunday is Christian Easter.  (Happy Easter, All.)  Christian Lent is coming to an end.

And parts of the world – aren’t reciprocating.

To wit: Where we stop Islamist terrorist trials – Kuwait has scheduled for Easter Sunday a completely ridiculous prosecution date.

The victim of this inanity – is Marsha Lazareva.  The chief executive and vice-chairman of US private equity company KGL Investment:

“KGL (has) made much of its money in Kuwait – and now wants to return much of it to the US.

“Not satisfied with crucifying just the company – Kuwait is going after its executives….

“In other words, it would seem Ms. Lazareva is a victim of the same crony garbage her company is.

“Kuwait is attempting to smear as many KGLI people as possible – in an attempt to make their crony garbage case against KGLI look less like crony garbage.”

And Kuwait’s next scheduled smear date – is Easter Sunday.

Christianity and its holiday be…well, you know.

The President and his Administration will quite rightly acknowledge Easter.

The President and his Administration should also quite rightly acknowledge the absurdity of Kuwait’s Easter-ignoring persecutions.

And weigh in to end them.
