The Anti-Religion Left Goes Nuts Over Bill Barr’s Warning About the Fatal Results of Militant Secularism

U.S. Attorney General William Barr listens to concerns raised about public safety in rural Alaska during at a roundtable discussion at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, in Anchorage, Alaska. Barr did not take questions from reporters in his first public appearance after former special prosecutor Robert Mueller spoke to reporters after resigning at the completion of his report into Russian interference into the 2016 election. (AP Photo/Mark Thiessen)

On Friday, Attorney General Bill Barr delivered a speech at Notre Dame University. It was, in my experience, much different fare than I’ve come to expect of attorneys general. It wasn’t a plea for more cops or more laws or more money. Rather it was a jeremiad about what happens when the state assumes the role of that religious institutions have previously played in the our public life. In particular, Barr notes that religion is under active attack.

[Full speech here]

The challenge we face is precisely what the Founding Fathers foresaw would be our supreme test as a free society.

They never thought the main danger to the republic came from external foes. The central question was whether, over the long haul, we could handle freedom. The question was whether the citizens in such a free society could maintain the moral discipline and virtue necessary for the survival of free institutions.

By and large, the Founding generation’s view of human nature was drawn from the classical Christian tradition.

These practical statesmen understood that individuals, while having the potential for great good, also had the capacity for great evil.

Men are subject to powerful passions and appetites, and, if unrestrained, are capable of ruthlessly riding roughshod over their neighbors and the community at large.

No society can exist without some means for restraining individual rapacity.

But, if you rely on the coercive power of government to impose restraints, this will inevitably lead to a government that is too controlling, and you will end up with no liberty, just tyranny.

On the other hand, unless you have some effective restraint, you end up with something equally dangerous – licentiousness – the unbridled pursuit of personal appetites at the expense of the common good. This is just another form of tyranny – where the individual is enslaved by his appetites, and the possibility of any healthy community life crumbles.

Edmund Burke summed up this point in his typically colorful language:

“Men are qualified for civil liberty, in exact proportion to their disposition to put chains upon their appetites…. Society cannot exist unless a controlling power be placed somewhere; and the less of it there is within, the more there must be without. It is ordained in the eternal constitution of things that men intemperate minds cannot be free. Their passions forge their fetters.”

The answer Barr offered was unsurprising to anyone with a passing acquaintance with our history or even with Western Civilization:

Religion helps promote moral discipline within society. Because man is fallen, we don’t automatically conform ourselves to moral rules even when we know they are good for us.

But religion helps teach, train, and habituate people to want what is good. It does not do this primarily by formal laws – that is, through coercion. It does this through moral education and by informing society’s informal rules – its customs and traditions which reflect the wisdom and experience of the ages.

In other words, religion helps frame moral culture within society that instills and reinforces moral discipline.

He presents the secularist critique of religion and goes on to document the failures of secularism.

But today – in the face of all the increasing pathologies – instead of addressing the underlying cause, we have the State in the role of alleviator of bad fconsequences. We call on the State to mitigate the social costs of personal misconduct and irresponsibility.

So the reaction to growing illegitimacy is not sexual responsibility, but abortion.

The reaction to drug addiction is safe injection sites.

The solution to the breakdown of the family is for the State to set itself up as the ersatz husband for single mothers and the ersatz father to their children.

The call comes for more and more social programs to deal with the wreckage. While we think we are solving problems, we are underwriting them.

We start with an untrammeled freedom and we end up as dependents of a coercive state on which we depend.

What really drove the secularist over the edge was his conclusion:

Education is not vocational training. It is leading our children to the recognition that there is truth and helping them develop the faculties to discern and love the truth and the discipline to live by it.

We cannot have a moral renaissance unless we succeed in passing to the next generation our faith and values in full vigor.

The times are hostile to this. Public agencies, including public schools, are becoming secularized and increasingly are actively promoting moral relativism.

Finally, as lawyers, we should be particularly active in the struggle that is being waged against religion on the legal plane.

We must be vigilant to resist efforts by the forces of secularization to drive religious viewpoints from the public square and to impinge upon the free exercise of our faith.

I can assure you that, as long as I am Attorney General, the Department of Justice will be at the forefront of this effort, ready to fight for the most cherished of our liberties: the freedom to live according to our faith.

And there is so much more goodness here that I encourage you to read the whole thing.

The criticism wasn’t long in coming:

That anything Barr said was shocking is shocking. The criticisms betray a blinding ignorance of our national history and traditions and show a willingness to lie in order to aggrandize power to the government. What is striking is that Barr is merely making a 21st Century riff off the 1798 speech by John Adams that included:

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion . . . Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Or off Tocqueville:

Liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith.

Or our first socialist president, FDR:

In teaching this democratic faith to American children, we need the sustaining, buttressing aid of those great ethical religious teachings which are the heritage of our modern civilization. For ‘not upon strength nor upon power, but upon the spirit of God’ shall our democracy be founded.

(h/t to the WSJ for the quotes by Tocqueville and FDR)

Barr is right. I’ve never been able to understand why people on the right who are allegedly conservatives haven’t hesitated to jump aboard virtually every train to crazy town that has pulled out of Tolerance station in the past ten years. The inability to stand up and be counted in opposition to really bad ideas–here I include all manner of pathologies from homosexual marriage to the mainstreaming of transgenderism–has made the right unable to restrain the growth of the militant secularists who are clearly out to eradicate religion.

But just as we can’t rely upon the government to fill the role of religion in society, neither can we rely upon government to protect religious liberty. We can only do that by speaking out and by teaching our children Christian morality and dogma from Day One so that they can resist the pressure of a hostile society.

Gal Gadot to Produce and Star in Movie About Christian Woman Who Saved Thousands of Jewish Children from Nazis

Continuing to prove to be one of the most stand-up women in Hollywood, Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot has started up her own production company with her husband and decided their first film will be about a Christian woman who saved thousands of Jewish children from the Nazis.

According to Deadline, Gadot will produce and act the lead in a true story film about Irena Sendler and her efforts to defy the Nazis by saving the lives of others:

Irena Sendler tells the harrowing story of a woman’s defiant stand against Nazi Germany’s occupation of Poland and the incredible network she developed to care for and save 2500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto. Following her arrest by the Gestapo during the height of the war, the drama becomes a race against time to save not only herself but the identities of the hidden thousands who’ll face certain execution. Justine Juel Gillmer will be writing the screenplay. She just wrote another harrowing Holocaust film, Harry Haft. Gillmer has worked in film and television in her native Australia, and has worked on numerous shows in the U.S. including The 100, Into the Badlands, and is now serving as a writer/co-EP on Amazon’s Wheel of Time.

According to Gadot and her husband, their new production company, Pilot Wave, will focus on inspiring stories just like Sendler’s.

“As producers, we want to help bring stories that have inspired us to life,” Gadot and Varsano said. “Pilot Wave will create content that promotes the perspectives and experiences of unique people and produce impactful stories aimed at igniting the imagination.”

Hearing stories like this one would be a breath of fresh air, especially in an age where Hollywood has nothing good to say about Christians or Christianity. It’s likely that Gadot will face more controversy for taking on such a project, but she faces controversy no matter what she undertakes. Many of the hard left already despise her for being a beautiful, pro-Israeli, former soldier.

My hope is that the controversy doesn’t cause her or her production company to pull back on story elements that may give rise to controversy, such as the Christian element to the story.

I have faith in Gadot, however.

Leftists Threaten to “Bring Out the Guillotine” If Theaters Show Jordan Peterson Documentary

Westlake Legal Group jordan-peterson-SCREENSHOT-620x349 Leftists Threaten to “Bring Out the Guillotine” If Theaters Show Jordan Peterson Documentary Violence threats Social Justice Radical Left Politics Movies mob Media Jordan Peterson Front Page Stories Free Speech Featured Story Fascism Culture & Faith antifa Allow Media Exception

Theaters in many locations are terminating their showing of the documentary “The Rise of Jordan Peterson” after receiving threats of violence.

According to The Stranger, showings in theaters in Toronto and Brooklyn had all been canceled due to complaints by staff that they were fearful of “getting in trouble.” It’s the kind of “trouble” that is seen whenever Antifa and violent leftists show up to impose their anti-fascist fascism on everyone present.

The film’s co-creator, Maziar Ghaderi was giving an interview to The Stranger when he received a text message from a pastor who had agreed to screen the film in his church after theaters refused to play it. He too had begun receiving complaints and threats.

One threat involved an “or else” kind of message, threatening that if he doesn’t obey then these radical leftists will “bring out the guillotine to fix society”:

“Fair warning,” it read, “several community organizations are planning to shut down your showing of the Jordan Peterson propaganda film. While many of us aren’t Christian and some even flat-out condemn the religion, we do not want any harm to come to your place of worship or those within. However, we cannot allow fascism to continue to rise and will not tolerate its presence in our city, whether it is on the streets or on the waterfront or in a church. Read some history books, read about eugenics, read about sex and gender and then compare it to Peterson. Pray on it if you must. Do the right thing. As much as we joke about it, we really don’t want to have to bring out the guillotine to fix society.”

Peterson, a Toronto clinical psychologist and professor, achieved international fame when he became a central figurehead in the conversation of ethics and his opposition to identity politics and political correctness. This put him square into the crosshairs of hard-left activists and protesters. This includes Antifa, who often utilize violence to silence political opposition.

The reason the hard-left becomes so vehement about Peterson’s silence is that much of what Peterson says makes sense, and as such, even members of the left find him appealing. Peterson is dangerous. He doesn’t just change minds, he changes hearts, and those are two things the radical left would like to own.

But it also exposes the weakness of their position. If they can only retaliate to Peterson’s words with violence for silence, then their arguments aren’t very good. Peterson has already won the debate.

While I doubt the radical left would pull out a literal guillotine (yet), I do believe they would resort to violence. The kind of violence that puts people in hospitals. Those screening the movie should continue to do so despite the threats, but make sure that security is a factor.

Speech shouldn’t be silenced, whether it’s Jordan Peterson or not, and shutting down showings of the movie isn’t going to progress anything forward.

Mayors from 50 Cities Take Gas-Guzzling Jets to Sweden in Order to Save the Environment, as the Goofy Game Continues

From what I’ve seen, there are few if any public voices on climate change whose lifestyles affirm the reality of their claims.

If you consider yourself a warrior in the fight against a solar Armageddon yet do more than the average person to worsen it, you’re just playing a game.

The average American doesn’t do much. They mostly live where they were born. They drive to work, they drive home. They go to little league games.

If you’re championing the cause against pollution and you board a jet, you’re not making any sense.

Pick one.

As I’ve said before, human beings started out wanderin’ around, nekkid in the woods. They were “green.” Walmart? Not green. Best Buy? Not green. Amazon? Apple? NBC? None green. Any company manufacturing and transporting things and paying people to do it — employees who’ll also require transportation and resources which in turn mandate more transportation and employees — is not green.

If you wanna be green, stop making stuff. Go live in the buff under trees in the leaves.

Greenness attained.

That’s my advice, but no one seems interested.

Hence, mayors from 50 cities and officials the world over got in a buncha giant gas guzzlers and shot across the sky to Denmark last week for the C40 World Mayors Summit.

That group also included cowfart-fighter and frequent flier Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who dreams of a world without planes, and you can read about her emotional speech in RedState writer Nick Arama’s coverage.

Shouldn’t scientists be speaking at a conference about science? I can’t imagine a 1955 convention on the effects of pollution and cosmic components being led by someone who was just recently a bartender.

“Progress”?

Another non-scientist who laid it: Al Gore.

That would be, the man who, 14 years ago, said we only had 10 years to save the world.

He knows it’s way too late. Shouldn’t he be on the golf course, or skydiving with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman?

He’s also the recent recipient of the Climate Hypocrite Award.

As I wrote in September:

[T]he Tennessee Center for Policy Research revealed the great global warming activist lived such an extreme lifestyle that the utility bills for his Belle Meade mansion totaled $30,000 per year.

A similar exposé was delivered by a Nashville newspaper a few years before that.

In 2010, Al and Tipper added another house to their collection, in Montecito, California.

Here’s the World Property Journal:

The couple spent $8,875,000 on a gated ocean-view villa on 1 1/2 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, according to real estate sources familiar with the deal. The Italian-style house has high ceilings with beams in the public rooms, a family room, a wine cellar, terraces, six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms in more than 6,500 square feet of living space. … The 93108 ZIP Code, which includes the coastal hamlet, was ranked as America’s seventh most expensive area last year by Forbes.

And consider a bit of info from the National Center for Public Policy Research:

In powering his home, Gore still greatly outpaces most Americans in energy consumption. The findings were shocking:

  • The past year, Gore’s home energy use averaged 19,241 kilowatt hours (kWh) every month, compared to the U.S. household average of 901 kWh per month.
  • Gore guzzles more electricity in one year than the average American family uses in 21 years.
  • In September of 2016, Gore’s home consumed 30,993 kWh in just one month – as much energy as a typical American family burns in 34 months.
  • During the last 12 months, Gore devoured 66,159 kWh of electricity just heating his pool. That is enough energy to power six average U.S.  households for a year.
  • From August 2016 through July 2017, Gore spent almost $22,000 on electricity bills.
  • Gore paid an estimated $60,000 to install 33 solar panels. Those solar panels produce an average of 1,092 kWh per month, only 5.7% of Gore’s typical monthly energy consumption.

Here’s what that guy — who also flew in — had to say at the conference:

“Because of what’s happened to our national governments, mayors are on the [climate change] front line now.

“A lot of this is up to you; we need you, we need your help, the world needs your help, the next generation needs your help and the young people are saying in ever louder, more passionate terms that they depend on us to do the right thing.

Al explained that mayors “do not have the luxury of just going away and reading reports about what is going on. You run into your constituents every single day.”

As reported by The Daily Wire, mayors from 14 of the world’s largest cities promised to cut down on the amount of meat served in schools, hospitals, and public buildings.

They want to reduce the amount of meat people eat to less than 300 grams a week, about the size of two steaks. Dubbed the “Planetary Health Diet,” it is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. So far, such cities as Barcelona, London, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo and Toronto have signed on to the C40 Good Food Cities Declaration signed on Thursday.

Does all this change anything? 14 cities? On a planet of 7 billion? Thanks to a convention involving tons of jets? By people who do more than the average person to pollute?

Someone should tell the gang about Skype. And the rest of the world.

These days, saving it is strange business.

Well, what do you know?

Seems that CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has been sitting down in secret with conservative pundits, writers and even a congressperson as of late. Maybe he realizes that Elizabeth Warren and her merry bunch of zealots are worse than dealing with people he opposes politically.

According to Politico this has been going on for a short time…

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been hosting informal talks and small, off-the-record dinners with conservative journalists, commentators and at least one Republican lawmaker in recent months to discuss issues like free speech and discuss partnerships.

The dinners, which began in July, are part of Zuckerberg’s broader effort to cultivate friends on the right amid outrage by President Donald Trump and his allies over alleged “bias” against conservatives at Facebook and other major social media companies. “I’m under no illusions that he’s a conservative but I think he does care about some of our concerns,” said one person familiar with the gatherings, which multiple sources have confirmed.

Some of the people who have been rumored to have attended the meetings are Mary Katharine Ham, Ben Shapiro, Matt Continetti, Guy Benson, and Brent Bozell. Byron York confirmed he attended one of the dinners but refused to discuss what was talked about.

The article does say that this outreach was to try and ease some of the fears of those that might have some influence with the Trump administration in the hope to quiet some of the saber-rattling.

Trump is not your problem Mark.

Elizabeth Warren is on the warpath (PUN FULLY INTENDED) and she is coming for your monopoly buddy.

This is a classic example of liberals wanting to claim the higher ground while shutting down any discussion of any ground under the rules of feelings being hurt. Zuckerberg is part of this mindset no matter how many dinners he holds to try a charm offensive and act otherwise.

All you have to do is treat both sides equally.

In this case, what that means is to let the words fly. Don’t referee to any side and you will not have any issue. The notion that Facebook has been treating all sides fairly is ludicrous. Just go and google how many grievances people that are “right” leaning have been banned as opposed to “left” leaning. The complaints are numerous on the right. If you think the left doesn’t like to complain when they get axed I have a bridge to sell you in Chappaquiddick.

Hopefully, these meetings do show Mark that conservatives are not that scary and these concerns should be dealt with going from the top down.

Otherwise, you will have to deal with Elizabeth Warren and no one rational wants to do that.

Proverbs 24:16 (NASB)

That’s beneath the french fry tray.

Want a refreshing beverage? Here’s what your root beer will tell you:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His [a]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

John 3:16 (NASB)

Even water comes with a reminder:

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’”

John 14:6 (NASB).

You could go your whole life and never know the references were there; In-N-Out isn’t into beating people over the heads.

But the privately-owned portal to heaven and the family overseeing it were both founded on Christian principles.

Speaking to The Christian Post recently, President Lynsi Snyder — whose grandparents launched the hit hamburger haven in 1948 — discussed her personal trials and her help from above.

The 37-year-old lost her father when she was 17. That led to drug and alcohol abuse, as well as three rocky marriages.

But that was then:

“I finally found that the deep need in my heart can only be filled by Jesus and my identity in Him.”

Now, in addition to running a restaurant empire — she became a billionaire before the age of 35 — Lynsi is sponsor of the Army of Love ministry.

The organization’s purpose: to “unify the body of Christ into soldiers” and “unite various ministries.”

She wants to share the joy she’s found:

“The battle over souls is being waged in the heavenly. We want to be on the front lines of this battle to save the lost and bring fallen Christians back to their first love.”

As for the scriptures — which were her Uncle Richard’s idea — she explained, “It’s a family business and will always be, and that’s a family touch.”

Richard began with John 3:16 on the bottom of cups to honor his own rededication to God.

As for a commitment to expansion, Lynsi’s content to keep the Christian-owned burger joint small:

“I like that we’re unique. That we’re not on every corner. You put us in every state and it takes away some of its luster.”

It seems to be working out; In-N-Out’s current worth is estimated at $3 billion.

If you land anywhere near one, I suggest you immediately add to that number.

Benevolence has never been more delicious.

Screen grab via WFAA.

Last week, former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger, 31, was convicted of murder in the September 2018 shooting death of 26-year-old Botham Jean as he sat in his apartment.

Guyger, who said she mistakenly entered the wrong apartment and shot Jean because she believed he was an intruder, received a 10 year sentence.

Botham Jean’s brother Brandt, who is 18, gave a powerful victim impact statementt on forgiveness and asked for a hug afterwards, which Judge Tammy Kemp okayed after a few seconds of consideration of the request.

Not long after Brandt Jean gave his statement, Judge Kemp walked over to his family and consoled them over their loss. But she also walked over to Guyger and spoke with her for a few moments before retreating and then returning with a Bible. She talked to Guyger about John 3:16, and told Gugyger that God had already forgiven her after Gugyer asked if He ever would.

Watch their interaction below:

Their moving exchange predictably caused social justice warriors and freedom from religion types to erupt in outrage, as streiff noted here.

In her first public comments since the trial, Kemp was unapologetic in the face of criticism:

… Kemp said she felt her actions were appropriate since the trial was over and the former officer told her she didn’t know how to begin seeking God’s forgiveness.
[…]
“If she wanted to start with the Bible, I didn’t want her to go back to the jail and to sink into doubt and self-pity and become bitter,” she said. “Because she still has a lot of life ahead of her following her sentence and I would hope that she could live it purposefully.”
[…]
Kemp said that Guyger asked twice if she could hug her as well and, after a moment’s hesitation, the judge wrapped her arms around the former police officer.

“Following my own convictions, I could not refuse that woman a hug. I would not,” said Kemp, who is black. “And I don’t understand the anger. And I guess I could say if you profess religious beliefs and you are going to follow them, I would hope that they not be situational and limited to one race only.”

What a refreshing way to look at things. Nice work, Judge Kemp.

News Summary from the Week that Was (29 September – 5 October)

Westlake Legal Group censored-620x331-copy News Summary from the Week that Was (29 September – 5 October) Uncategorized Ukrainian collusion in 2016 election Ukraine investigation into 2016 election interference Ukraine socialism religion Media Hillary Clinton Email Scandal Hillary Clinton Front Page Stories Featured Story Economy donald trump democrats Culture & Faith Crooked Hillary Clinton corruption Corrupt Democrats climate alarmism cia scandal Catholic Church bill barr biden Abuse of Power

Here is some of the news from last week that the legacy media buried or obfuscated because the stories don’t fit their “Republicans bad, Democrats good” narrative.

1. This is a great way to get the ball rolling this week! There are a TON of culpable criminals who enabled Shrillary during her tour as secretary of state. She’s always been guilty of mishandling TS/SCI information, too.

[T]he Washington Post reported State Department officials informed up to 130 Clinton aides that they were found to be “culpable” of handling information that was classified lower than they should have been when transmitted through the private server. Although some former Obama administration officials have attempted to discredit the investigation by accusing the Trump administration of targeting them, one official retorted that “the process is set up in a manner to completely avoid any appearance of political bias.”

A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigation into Clinton’s server found at least 100 emails containing classified information, including 65 emails declared “Secret” and 22 regarded as “Top Secret.” Additionally, the State Department retroactively classified 2,093 emails that were not initially marked as such. Some experts charge Clinton broke multiple laws, including 18 U.S. Code § 1924, which forbids “unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material.”

Read the rest here. I’m one of those experts noted in the article based on over 45 years as a national security professional (albeit have never been interviewed and quoted formally). There is no statute of limitations on mishandling classified information (especially of the TS/SCI variety!).

2. Next, Peter Schweizer provides the goods on the Bidens’ corruption that the legacy media continues to hide:

[Peter] Schweizer told host Mark Levin that the former vice president’s son was being paid by Ukraine despite not having expertise in the energy sector while Joe Biden was the “point-person” on former President Barack Obama’s administration in dealing with Ukraine. “The key question here that nobody seems to want to ask in the media is: What was he being paid for? He wasn’t being paid for his expertise. What was he being paid for? And what were the Ukrainians expecting to get in return?” Schweizer stated. “I think when you overlay the financial payments with the fact that Joe Biden as point person on Obama administration policy to Ukraine was steering billions of dollars of Western money to Ukraine it becomes crystal clear exactly why they were paying him money. They wanted access and they wanted to influence Joe Biden. And Joe Biden has been around a long time here, and he had to know exactly why his son was being paid.”

Source. It’s only a matter of time until the stalking horse for Shrillary is forced to retire from the Democrats’ Star Wars bar scene field of wannabes.

3. CNN and MSNBC are infested with former Obama national security and intelligence community political hacks who rail against POTUS, but they won’t touch this story with a 10-foot pole:

Former CIA officer John Kiriakou explained why he feels President Donald Trump should ask the Senate to investigate the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Appearing on Monday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Kiriakou described the difference between an instance during his own employment where he filed a whistleblower complaint, and the highly published complaint regarding Trump’s July 25 phone call to the president of Ukraine. The former CIA officer described his 1996 complaint, then the current one that “went through layers of editing and coordinating and lawyers were involved and managers were involved.”

“It looks like a legal document,” he said. “It doesn’t look like a whistleblower complaint, and that leads me to believe that this whistleblower that we’re talking about is just a face of an entire group that’s at the CIA that’s pushing this forward.” Kiriakou speculated that the complaint likely went “through the chain of command” to CIA Director Gina Haspel herself before landing at the office of the DNI.

Read the rest here. The experienced among us know that is was a set-up and political hit-job yet again, folks. Period.

4. Joe Biden is running scared on the Ukraine issue. He’s trying to squelch political free speech by using his campaign to pressure networks to not interview Rudy Giuliani:

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign demanded on Sunday that news networks stop booking Rudy Giuliani for interviews, handing President Donald Trump and his allies a new talking point against the former vice president. Biden’s campaign sent a letter to executives and anchors at ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC, according to the NYT, which first obtained the letter. In it, Biden campaign officials Anita Dunn and Kate Bedingfield call interviews with Giuliani “a disservice to journalism.”

“We are writing today with grave concern that you continue to book Rudy Giuliani on your air to spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of Donald Trump,” the letter begins. “While you often fact check his statements in real time during your discussions, that is no longer enough. By giving him your air time, you are allowing him to introduce increasingly unhinged, unfounded and desperate lies into the national conversation.”

Read the rest here. Biden’s toast. That video of him bragging that he forced the Ukrainian president to fire the prosecutor investigating his son Hunter and Burisma Holdings sounded his political death knell. It’s just a matter of time until he’s gone.

5. More on Ukraine that the anti-Trump media and Democrats are ignoring – but it’s going to bite them all BIGLY where the sun don’t shine!

[T]he president never spoke with Attorney General William Barr “about having Ukraine investigate anything relating to former Vice President Biden or his son” or asked him to contact Ukraine “on this or any other matter,” and that the attorney general has not communicated at all with Ukraine. It also contains the following morsel: “A Department of Justice team led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is separately exploring the extent to which a number of countries, including Ukraine, played a role in the counterintelligence investigation directed at the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

While the Attorney General has yet to contact Ukraine in connection with this investigation, certain Ukrainians who are not members of the government have volunteered information to Mr. Durham, which he is evaluating.” When you grope through the miasma of Slavic names and follow the daisy chain of related people and entities, it appears that Ukrainian officials who backed the Clinton campaign provided information that generated the investigation of Mr. Manafort—acts that one Ukrainian court has said violated Ukrainian law and “led to interference in the electoral processes of the United States in 2016 and harmed the interests of Ukraine as a state.”

Read the rest here. Bit by bit, the real truth about Ukraine is seeping out – and it AIN’T good for the Democrats.

6. It’s about time the vegans got a little pushback. This is one less thing that the leftist fascists can force down our throats.

A new study states that previous claims of the harm done by eating beef and pork are inaccurate. It was thought for decades that eating too much red meat contributes to heart disease, diabetes, and certain forms of cancer. But the study, published Monday in the Annals of Internal Medicine, concluded that meat was probably only a contributing factor to disease — not decisive — and cutting consumption would only marginally improve risk factors.

Read the rest here. Another long-held leftwing myth is debunked. Who knew?

7. The Democrats are rushing headlong to impeach @POTUS no matter what. It’s not going to work out for them they way they think it will.

Back in 2017, Rep. Adam Schiff was crowing that there was evidence in plain sight that Donald Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election. The intel committee boss never produced the evidence and neither did Robert Mueller with his police-state tactics. Schiff has now turned to improvised dialogue about President Trump pressuring Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden in exchange for military aid. That is a tough act to follow but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is up to the task.

President Trump is like Paul Newman in Absence of Malice, being set up by someone with no face and no name. The whistleblower is reportedly a CIA employee but the president wants to know who this person is and face his accuser. The accuser is being represented by Andrew Bakaj, a former CIA officer who says the whistleblower “is entitled to anonymity.” Democrats want more of Trump’s phone calls with Vladimir Putin and other world leaders. Adam Schiff wants to see if “the president was also undermining our security in a way that he thought would personally benefit his campaign.” For his part, Trump wants Schiff questioned “at the highest level for Fraud & Treason,” and he wants to know who was spying on him.

Progressives believe they have somehow escaped the repressive conditioning of the masses and are wise enough to usher in the utopian state. This has all been predetermined by history, so if the progressive candidate loses, it can only be due to trickery or theft. Progressive candidates cannot accept that outsider Donald Trump defeated … Hillary Clinton. Democrats are worried that if they don’t impeach Trump he will win again in 2020. Others don’t care about the election and just want him impeached by any means necessary.

President Trump, the most powerful man in the world, could extend deployment of his power to declassify. That could prove interesting, even for someone like POTUS 44, who in 2012 told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have “more flexibility” to deal with contentious issues like missile defense after the U.S. presidential election. And of course he and Hillary Clinton gave the Russians everything they wanted. They also colluded with Russia to take down candidate and President Trump. Vice President Joe Biden pressured Ukraine to fire a prosecutor investigating a firm whose board included Biden’s son.

Trump thinks Ukraine should investigate, and that was what the call was about. Yet Trump, not Biden, faces the barrage.

Read the rest here. The focus is corruption as it always has been, not the false Democrat spin of quid pro quo.

8. POTUS is not your typical pol (thank God!).

He wasn’t supposed to release the transcripts. Or the whistleblower report.  He was expected to do what any president would have done – what President Obama always did. Hide the evidence. As scripted, the president was intended to (rightly) claim executive privilege and withhold the written notes of his July 25 conversation with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. That would allow House Democrats to ramp up speculation about what the president was hiding.

In contrast, President Trump did the unthinkable:  he actually waived both executive privilege and attorney-client privilege for the Mueller investigation.  What other president would allow his general counsel to be interviewed for more than 30 hours? Donald Trump does. He should be winning awards for his openness and transparency. We’ve never seen anything like it before.  And it’s messing with the Democrats’ narrative.

Americans are not fooled. By now most of us have heard the message loud and clear. Rep. Al Green told us exactly what it was about when he told MSNBC in May, “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.”

Read the rest here. I’ll take the transparency and responsiveness of @POTUS to the secrecy of the Deep State and Democrats any day of the week!

9. The Catholic Church goes off the deep end on enviro-wacko-ism. Funny, I thought the goal was to save souls, not “the planet.” There’s a lot of work to do on that front; just consider all the elected Democrats who support unrestricted abortion!

[T]he movement is not confined to secular discourse: it coincides with escalating rhetoric from the Vatican about environmentalism. This issue is quickly becoming central to contemporary Catholicism, just as economic justice rose to the fore in the late 19th century. This is not merely a passing phase either. The language the Church uses to discuss environmentalism today will have profound ramifications for how we think about God, humanity, creation, and salvation itself.

Pope Francis’s 2015 encyclical Laudato Si was acclaimed as being for environmental justice what Pope Leo XIII’s landmark work Rerum Novarum was for economic justice in 1891. But the comparison is more aspirational than accurate. But Laudato Si, unlike Rerum Novarum, falls into the trap of adopting secular language to describe what is essentially a spiritual problem. It’s rife with the doomsday language that dominates secular environmentalism. Doomsday language does not lend itself to well-rounded philosophical frameworks or to judicious, practical applications. Instead, it promotes panic, and panic leads to moral compromise.

The unjustified moral panic over the Amazon fires is not unique. The last five decades are full of climate doomsday predictions that have been proven false. Some—like the 1970 proclamation that, by 2000, the world would be gripped in a new Ice Age—are exactly the opposite of current climate panics. For climate change activists, these facts simply don’t matter. What matters is that they see an impending climate disaster—a disaster which they believe justifies distorting the truth. This is exactly the same kind of prevarication Catholics must watch out for.

Because many leaders in the Church—including the Holy Father—have come to believe that there is an impending climate disaster, we shouldn’t be surprised if we see doctrinal distortions as a result. By elevating neo-pagan tribes to the level of moral arbiters and castigating Western Catholics en masse, activists within the Church lose sight of the Church’s primary purpose, which is to affect the salvation of human souls—the bringing of souls into harmony with God—through its preaching and sacramental ministries. All other Church activities must flow from that purpose and not from any other, lest we fall into a trap set by the forces of darkness.

Read the rest here. That article nailed how the Pope and the church hierarchy have gone off the rails, didn’t it? The Devil is hard at work boring from within.

10. A DNC contractor was digging for Trump dirt in Ukraine in 2016, but there is total silence about this in the legacy media.

There is a media narrative that is false. How do we know it’s false? The documents I possess show it’s false. They said there is no evidence that the Ukraine embassy was ever asked for help to help the Democrat national committee. She called that Russia propaganda. I have a statement from the Ukrainian embassy in Washington on the record from their sitting Ambassador in Washington that in fact Alexander Toluca, the DNC contractor came to the Ukraine embassy in spring 2016 and asked for help in finding dirt on Donald Trump in hopes of staging a congressional hearing to hurt Donald Trump. That is the on the record statements.

In addition, they state that he also asked the Ukraine president to visit the United States and spend time with an investigative reporter trying to turn up dirt on Donald Trump and Paul Manafort. What did the embassy do? They say they recognize this request for what it was, and improper efforts to influence the election and they refused to cooperate. That is a very important confirmation of something the rest of the media is calling tinfoil hat, conspiracy.

Watch the video here. Where are the legacy media in following up on this bombshell? Why, running for the hills, of course!

11. Finally, there is more circumstantial evidence that Rod Rosenstein wasn’t a “white hat,” as some have speculated.

Judicial Watch released 145 pages of Rod Rosenstein’s communications that include a one-line email from Rod Rosenstein to Robert Mueller stating, “The boss and his staff do not know about our discussions” and “off the record” emails with major media outlets around the date of Mueller’s appointment.

The time period referred to in this suit is critical. On May 8, 2017, Rosenstein wrote a memo to President Trump recommending that FBI Director James Comey be fired. The next day, President Trump fired Comey. Just three days later, on May 12, Rosenstein sent an email assuring Robert Mueller that “The boss and his staff do not know about our discussions.”

In a May 16, 2017 email, sent the day before Mueller’s appointment, Rosenstein emailed former Bush administration Deputy Attorney General and current Kirkland & Ellis Partner, Mark Filip stating, “I am with Mueller. He shares my views. Duty Calls. Sometimes the moment chooses us.”

Read the rest here. Occam’s razor says that Rosenstein indicted himself with his own words. I’ll wait for definitive proof to the contrary, no speculation.

Here are a couple of honorable mentions from this weeks news:

Here’s the short summary of the items in this weekly news summary:

  • Up to 130 State Dept personnel stand to lose their security clearances as a result of the Shrillary email server debacle. Frankly, it’s not enough; they need to be prosecuted because they knew about it and did nothing.
  • Peter Schweizer exposes the Bidens’ epic corruption.
  • A former CIA officer who submitted a whistleblower compliant opines that the Ukraine complaint reads like it was a legal brief, not a submission by a genuine whistleblower.
  • Joe Biden is pressuring the networks not to interview Rudy Giuliani on their news programs. Sure seems like a desperate move to me (not to mention typical Democrat fascism by attempting to stifle opposing political speech).
  • AG Barr is methodically looking into foreign influence in the 2016 elections. Ukraine is on the menu to the consternation of the Democrats.
  • Red meat isn’t bad for humans after all. I learned “everything in moderation” long ago. Glad to see a return to sanity.
  • Biden did the crime, yet it’s @OTUS who is the focus of Democrat allegations. Yeah, it’s nothing but transference!
  • POTUS upset the Democrats’ impeachment apple cart by releasing the Ukraine phone call transcript summary because he’s not your average brain-dead RINO.
  • The Pope apparently is on the green bandwagon, and saving souls seems to be second fiddle.
  • A DNC contractor was fishing for dirt on Donald Trump in Ukraine in 2016.
  • Looks like Rod Rosenstein was a bad guy after all; he implicates himself with his own words.

The Democrats flawed impeachment gambit (refer to the last bullet in item 12 above) continues to dominate the news. Watching their and their paid media lies, given the phone call transcript, is just amazing. Completely disgraceful! Now they’re shifting to China since that dog won’t hunt. Meanwhile, AG Barr and USA Durham continue their work, making the Democrats more desperate by the day. I love it! And no one has mentioned the DoJ OIG FISA abuse report that’s “under final review” lately. There’s a lot happening, folks; stay tuned!

The end.

Anti-Christian Bigots File Complaint Against Judge Over Amber Guyger Sentencing Hearing

On Wednesday, former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger was sentenced to ten years in prison for the rather senseless and inexplicable killing of an unarmed stranger in the stranger’s own apartment. While SJWs were baying for blood outside the courtroom and giving America a master class in what kind of a sh**hole we’d be living in if they ever came to power

.mcclatchy-embed{position:relative;padding:40px 0 56.25%;height:0;overflow:hidden;max-width:100%}.mcclatchy-embed iframe{position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%}

Inside the courtroom, faith in our common humanity and in justice and possibly redemption were being strengthened.

First, Brandt Jean, the brother of the dead man, Botham Jean, asked for permission to hug Guyger.

How would you top an emotional moment like that? Judge Tammy Kemp, left the bench and gave Guyger her personal Bible:

After stepping off the bench to comfort the Jean family, the judge walked over to Guyger, still at the defense table. She bent low and spoke in the young woman’s ear. “You understand?” the judge said, barely audible.

The judge appeared to be overcome in the moment, and left the courtroom. She returned a moment later, a small Bible in her hand.

“You can have mine,” the judge said to Guyger. “I have three or four at home.”

She then began to counsel Guyger. The pair were talking low, barely audible, just the two of them. “This is your job,” the judge said, opening the book.

The judge mentioned John 3:16, saying this will strengthen her. Guyger nodded her head.

“You just need a tiny mustard seed of faith,” the judge said. “You start with this.”

And how could you top this moment? Well, if you are the bigots of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, you’d file a judicial misconduct complaint against Judge Kemp.

According the the FFR press release crowing about their bigotry:

Government employees may not use the power and privilege of their offices to preach their personal religious beliefs, FFRF Co-Presidents Annie Laurie Gaylor and Dan Barker point out in a letter to the commission.

“It violates the constitutional separation between state and church for a sitting judge to promote personal religious beliefs while acting in her official capacity,” the letter reads. “She was in a government courtroom, dressed in a judicial robe, with all of the imprimatur of the state, including armed law enforcement officers, preaching to someone who was quite literally a captive audience. Delivering bibles, bible studies and personal witness as a judge is an abuse of power.”

FFRF notes that Kemp appears to have generally handled a difficult and widely publicized trial with grace and aplomb, but that her decision to preach the bible to a criminal defendant was a serious First Amendment violation and signaled to everyone watching that she is partial to Christian notions of forgiveness.

“We believe that our criminal justice system needs more compassion from judges and prosecutors, but here compassion crossed the line into coercion,” comment Gaylor and Barker. “And there can be few relationships more coercive than a sentencing judge in a criminal trial and a citizen accused and convicted of a crime.”

FFRF asks that the commission investigate these actions and educate Kemp on her obligation to remain neutral on matters of religion to prevent future misconduct.

This is just a fund raising ploy by these goobers. This complaint is going nowhere. There is no violation of the law or of judicial ethics. To buy into this nonsense would be to accept that Judge Kemp’s own First Amendment rights are voided by her being on the bench. No sane person could view any part of this as coercive, you certainly can’t say Judge Kemp handled the situation “with grace and aplomb” and turn around and accuse her of some egregious violation of her judicial oath.

It is difficult to see how this stunt works out well for these clowns and very easy to see how it will come back to haunt them repeatedly in the future.
