An Australian bikini model and mother of two has shared that she was shamed for having too large of a baby bump when she was expecting her second child.

GENDER REVEAL BACKFIRES WHEN PARTY POPPER BLASTS DAD IN THE CROTCH

“I would get comments everywhere I went about how big I was and ‘am I sure there’s not two in there?!’” Hannah Polites wrote on Instagram.

“In the end Arlo stayed in an extra week than Evaliah and was born 450g (1 pound) bigger but was still well within average,” she said. “Luckily, I don’t let the comments worry me as I knew my body wouldn’t grow a baby it couldn’t handle.”

The 28-year-old Instagram influencer wrote that her body is still recovering and showed a side-by-side from when she was 38 weeks pregnant and when she was nearly two weeks postpartum.

Polites, who shared that people were negative about her large stomach when she was expecting her son, also received significant criticism about being too small when she was expecting her first child, daughter Evaliah.

When Polites was pregnant with her daughter in 2016, she received negative comments from followers accusing the fit mom of not being healthy.

“This can’t be healthy,” one commenter shared.

“I’m just saying these pictures prove her baby does not have room at all!” another person wrote.

In addition to being shamed for her bump, Polites was also shamed for taking a labor photoshoot with her husband and Evaliah.

However, the midwife and model seems happy with her new bundle and joy and not fazed by the comments.

Dad praised for taking daughter with autism to prom: ‘Love this’

A New York dad is being applauded for stepping up and taking his daughter, who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, to her senior prom.

Thomas Perl wanted his daughter Tori, 17, to experience her high school prom – a milestone Thomas never had.

“I wanted Tori to go because I want her to have memories of it since I never went to mine,” he said to Yahoo Lifestyle.

Tori’s mom, Anna, reportedly asked three different boys to take her daughter to the prom – two said no, and one did not respond – before Thomas decided he was the best person to escort Tori to the dance.

Tori, who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in seventh grade, doesn’t have a large group of friends, Thomas told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“She’d rather play with video games and play with dolls than look at boys, which I’m totally okay with,” the 50-year-old dad said, noting she’s like a “13-year-old living in a 17-year-old girl’s body.”

Before the dance, Tori had to get permission from the school’s administration since dates over 20-years-old are not typically allowed. However, the assistant principal made an exception for Thomas, Yahoo Lifestyle reported.

Ouch! A gender-reveal stunt for an expectant couple in Tennessee epically backfired when an exploding two-piece party popper hit the dad-to-be – smack in the crotch.

Over the weekend, Parker Stuard and his girlfriend, Micah, revealed the gender of their unborn child, who is due to arrive in November, Fox 17 Nashville reports.

Standing on a deck with the celebratory canisters in hand, the Chapel-Hill area pair smiled at each other as partygoers counted down from five, in a now viral video that has since been viewed over 7,800 times to date on Facebook.

Immediately, Stuard’s canister released a puff of blue smoke – as the bottom piece of the party popper nailed him below the belt.

Excited onlookers screamed in response to the news of the baby boy, before bursting into laughter, as Stuard folded over in pain.

5 mistakes that are ruining your elliptical workout

The elliptical gets a bad rap for being an ineffective workout tool, but that’s only because most people use it wrong. Tweak these bad habits to get the most out of your workout.

You only ever use the elliptical

Using the same equipment at the gym in the same way every single time is not only monotonous, it can also hinder your ability to meet your fitness goals in the long run.

“Working out your body the same way every day can lead to overuse of certain body parts that may result in injuries,” says Ryan Halvorson, senior editor of Idea Health & Fitness Association and a personal trainer in San Diego, Calif.

If you don’t want to give up the elliptical, fitness experts suggest incorporating an elliptical workout into a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) routine; this means you alternate between high-intensity exercise for 30 seconds to a minute and low-intensity exercise for one to two minutes.

Instead of an hour straight on the machine, try doing as many burpees or mountain climbers as you can in 30 seconds, then hop on the elliptical for a minute or two to let your muscles recover.

Once your body starts to get comfortable with a workout routine, that’s when you know it’s time to kick it up a notch. Increasing your resistance is the best way to ensure you keep progressing. (iStock)

You always use the ‘fat burn’ button

Don’t let that “fat burn” button fool you into thinking that the weight will melt off quicker. The fat burn option helps you burn more fat at a lower intensity, but the problem is that you’re not burning nearly as many overall calories.

“If you want to lose weight, you want to burn calories,” says Dani Singer, Fitness Director of Fit2Go Personal Training in Baltimore. “Whether you’re burning carbs or fat is irrelevant, weight loss is about the calories that you’re burning.” High-intensity workouts are most efficient for fat burn and weight loss because you burn more calories and get that added benefit of the “after burn” effect.

After a physically intense workout, your body breaks down fat and continues to burn more calories to repair your muscles and replenish your energy sources. Make sure to avoid these post-gym mistakes, too.

You pay too much attention to the numbers on the machine

Westlake Legal Group iStock-900522996 5 mistakes that are ruining your elliptical workout Reader's Digest fox-news/lifestyle fox-news/fitness-and-wellbeing fnc/lifestyle fnc Ashley Lewis article 9b7064bc-be4d-5ebb-a489-d186145ba60e

Most cardio machines can only detect weight and age, and that’s only if you plug in your own information. But overall, they can’t detect who is using it in terms of body type, fitness level, height, or body fat percentage. (iStock)

You can’t help but feel victorious when the “calories burned” window on your elliptical dash hits triple digits. But there’s a catch – those numbers may be skewed.

Most cardio machines can only detect weight and age, and that’s only if you plug in your own information. But overall, they can’t detect who is using it in terms of body type, fitness level, height, or body fat percentage, which means the numbers on the machine during your elliptical workout may not be accurate to you.

In fact, researchers from the University of California at San Francisco found that the elliptical overestimated calorie burn by 42 percent.

“Don’t pay attention to the numbers on the machine. Pay attention to how hard you’re working because that’s correlated with calorie burn more than the machine,” says Singer.

You lean on the static handles

Leaning on the static handles in the center console is one of the most common mistakes trainers see at the gym. If you’re slouched over the handrails constantly, your body doesn’t work as hard because the handles act as your support throughout the workout instead of your body.

“We already spend a lot of time slouched, so why reinforce it while you exercise?” says Halvorson. “Elliptical machines allow you to stand nice and upright to help improve posture, promote better circulation, and work muscles more efficiently.”

To maintain good posture, engage your abs and pretend there’s a string attached to the crown of your head and the ceiling, pulling you up straight and tall.

For an additional burn during an elliptical workout, take advantage of those swinging handlebars (if your machine has them) to work out your arms and shoulders, too.

You never change the resistance

Once your body starts to get comfortable with a workout routine, that’s when you know it’s time to kick it up a notch. Increasing your resistance is the best way to ensure you keep progressing.

“If you’re keeping the same pace and distance your body will adapt and reduce the overall calorie burn and physical improvement,” says Halvorson. “It’s not the best bang for your buck.” As you up the resistance, make sure it’s feasible for your body to keep moving.

Poor nutrition, training too hard, and not enough sleep may also put you at risk for an exercise plateau.

One man has been crowned the dad of the year for pranking his teenaged daughter with a hilarious “Parenting 101” fashion lesson, poking fun at the girl’s penchant for denim cutoffs by surprising her with a pair of his own short shorts.

“You wear yours out in public? I will wear mine! Parenting 101!” funny dad Jason Hilley captioned a must-see home video, shared to Facebook on June 12. In the hysterical 75-second clip, which has since been viewed 24 million times, Hilley and his young son burst into the girl’s room for an impromptu schooling.

“Kendall, we have to have a talk,” the father begins, as a mortified Kendall raises a hand to her mouth and the little boy cackles in delight.

“Get your shorts, we’re gonna see whose fit better,” Hilley continues of the “butt cutting shorts.”

“Which ones?” she asks, which her dad describes as “the new ones we bought that were supposed to be a lot longer.”

Complying, Kendall shimmies on the shorts under an oversized long-sleeved top.

“Yeah, exactly!” Hilley cries of the cropped-style cutoffs once she has them on, with Kendall erupting in giggles.

“Whose are shorter, babe?” the silly dad asks as he strikes a pose in the mirror and looks at the camera, which is evidently held by his wife.

“I can’t handle y’all,” the woman laughs.

Beauty blogger accused of releasing lumpy and hairy lipstick: ‘This can’t be ok’

YouTube beauty guru is trying to survive lumpy-lipstick-gate.

Jaclyn Hill launched her cosmetic line, Jaclyn Cosmetics, about two weeks ago. While fans were initially anxious to get their hands on the product, since then, some have been taking to social media to complain about defective products.

Many of the complaints center around the lipstick being “lumpy,” People reports. Pictures began surfacing of lipstick tubes full of lumpy product. Some even appeared to have tiny, mysterious balls embedded inside of them. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the worst of it.

Some users noticed that there appeared to be tiny hairs in their lipstick.

YouTube beauty blogger RawBeautyKristi posted a review of the lipsticks, which can be summed up with one of her tweets. “All I can say is WTF,” she posted along with a picture of “hairy” lipstick.

Another user posted a similar picture, saying “I’m a longtime fan, but I’m disappointed with @jaclyncosmetics BOTH of my lipsticks came with fuzz on them.”

More users posted pictures of “lumpy” looking lipsticks, with one saying, “I got my @jaclyncosmetics lip stick today and it’s got these little scratchy balls in the lipstick?? #jaclyncosmetics I don’t understand?”

Another user asked, “Why is my @jaclyncosmetics Decaf lipstick lumpy?? @Jaclynhill This cant be ok right?”

Even die-hard fans had issues, with one posting, “I am a huge supporter! Seriously love you. I was soooo excited to buy your lipsticks. Today when I went to put on “Decaf.” I noticed there was a hard ball inside of it. What is it? Can I get a replacement?”

Hill took to Twitter to respond, saying “If any of you are receiving lipsticks like this…. please know that this is NOT hair! My factory used brand new white gloves to do quality control & they shed all over my product! We switched to rubber gloves 2 days ago & will make sure this never happens again.”

In regard to the “lumpy lipsticks,” she posted, “In rare circumstances some lipsticks were exposed to high temperatures or the raw materials were not blended thoroughly and that is not acceptable to us – as of now we are seeing less 0.1% with issues – but we see your complaints on social and want to fix things!”

Wedding reception’s ‘luxury’ menu slammed: ‘I thought this was hospital food’

A wedding guest has slammed the “luxury” menu they were served at a friend’s wedding reception.

Taking to a Facebook wedding shaming group, the anonymous guest shared snaps of the unusual wedding meal provided by a 4-star hotel in Leeds.

COUPLE SHAMED FOR ‘PATHETIC’ WEDDING CATERING: ‘THIS MAKES MORE SENSE FOR TODDLERS’

To start, attendees at the nuptials were given a plate of three frozen Yorkshire puddings accompanied with an herb garnish.

When it came to the main course, adults dined on a lackluster chicken dish including an unusual side of zucchini stuffed with green beans.

Meanwhile, children were fed half a pizza topped with tinned tuna, alongside french fries and baked beans.

Captioning her snaps the woman wrote: “I don’t know if the chef of this 4 star ‘luxury’ hotel was sick that day, or on holiday – but something must have been going on.

“I really appreciate the little herb on the side of the frozen Yorkshire puddings, really pushing it out there.”

And it seems that fellow group members were equally unimpressed, with the post receiving hundreds of comments from baffled people.

One wrote: “I would be 100 percent in the kitchen, throwing abuse at the entire kitchen staff if that was what was served at my wedding.”

“I had better food in school dinners,” said another with a third adding, “I thought this was hospital food.”

One particularly horrified member added: “Is that canned tuna on pizza??! WTAF”

“The green onions inside the cucumber. Wtf” wrote another.

‘Sunburn tattoos’ are a painful way to show off your style

These folks are having fun in the sun — but they could be risking their health in the process.

“Sunburn tattoos,” a body-modification trend that first tried to happen in 2015, is heating up for the summer 2019 season, according to a new Inked Mag report.

It works like this: People place stencils on exposed skin and head outside to soak up some rays. When that mission is complete, they remove the stencils to reveal “semi-permanent” designs in paler skin tones.

The practice originated with a French artist named Thomas Mailaender, Inked Mag reports. His “Illustrated People”  series involved placing photo negatives onto models’ skin, then shining an ultraviolet light onto them. The process created contrast on the skin. A portrait of a man on a horse was burned onto a woman’s back; an image of a child was burned into a man’s right arm.

TEXAS MOM’S VIRAL SUNBURN HACK WORKS, BUT IT’S NOT ‘MAGICAL CURE,” DERMATOLOGISTS WARN

It wasn’t long before #sunburntattoo posts were bubbling up on Twitter and Instagram — and we are not just talking tan lines here, people.

Social-media users are feeling the burn via designs of spiders, the Batman logo and the Playboy bunny. In an image and caption uploaded last year, one Instagram user named Paloma Ponce wrote that she got a dreamcatcher-shaped sunburn tattoo by applying a stencil on her skin, then going out into the sun and later removing the stencil.

Another Insta user, @sch_nien, in an image also shared last summer, shows a man’s burned leg with pale patches that say “sun” and “shine” separated by the shape of a sun.

Experts often stress the importance of protecting skin from the sun’s powerful rays.

“Both UVA and UVB [rays] can cause harmful effects on the skin,” says Dr. Mary Stevenson, a dermatologic surgeon and assistant professor at NYU Langone.

“Ultraviolet causes damage to cellular DNA, with UVB damaging the basal layer of your skin predominantly and UVA penetrating deeper and also causing damage which can ultimately result in skin cancer,” Stevenson adds. “Blistering sunburns in particular, which result from intense ultraviolet exposure, are known risk factors for causing cancer. As a dermatologic surgeon, I treat skin cancers daily and advise my patients to avoid burning and to wear a physical blocker with titanium or zinc oxide.”

So play it safe this summer: As the Fun Tan Tattoo stencil brand suggests, opt for a layer of sunscreen or self-tanning cream instead of temporary embellishments with consequences you may regret down the line.

The new features from the OS update allows users to download apps directly on the watch from the app store, instead of through a companion iPhone app. It also has more advanced health tracking to stay better informed of activity levels, though your dad may want to avoid using it just to reach his 10,000 step goal.

The Apple Watch is available online and in stores.

Georgia police officer pulls over girlfriend to propose

Though the flashing sirens of a police car could make any driver nervous, one Georgia woman’s unexpected traffic stop had a happy ending: a marriage proposal.

On June 5, Alexis McCart was driving with a friend in Lawrenceville when a police officer for the city inexplicably pulled them over, Fox 5 reports.

“I was so nervous; I didn’t know what was going on,” McCart told Gwinnett Daily Post. “Then [the officer] got us out of the car, and I was like, ‘Why is he doing this? What is going on?’”

Little did McCart realize, but her pal and the Lawrenceville Police Department (LPD) were in on a plan to help her boyfriend, Officer John Heart of the DeKalb County Police Department, pop the question.

LPD Officer Michael Peterson told the women that authorities were looking for suspects who had been at Walmart and instructed them to get out of the car, the Post reports. The strange orders were part of Heart’s plan, as people don’t normally have to exit their vehicle after getting pulled over.

“I said to myself, ‘She’d be really mad at first, but hopefully it’ll work out in the end,'” Heart recalled to Fox 5. “It was one of the most nerve-wracking things I’ve done.”

Moments later, McCart was shocked to see her beau – down on one knee.

“I turned around and there he was, and I just started bawling,” she said. “I was in such shock — you can tell by the picture. I literally had no clue.”

McCart said yes – and the happy couple couldn’t be more thrilled to tie the knot.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has since congratulated the pair on Facebook, where the photos of the pre-planned traffic stop and the story of “how he asked” have since gone viral with over 16,000 likes and 3,000 shares.

With plans for a fall wedding, the bride-to-be says that they’re considering an October 4 celebration in a playful nod to police code.

Reps for the sheriff’s office joked that the move would be in “true cop fashion.”
