Chick-fil-A customer says manager asked her to ‘cover up’ while breastfeeding

Westlake Legal Group chick-fil-a Chick-fil-A customer says manager asked her to 'cover up' while breastfeeding Michael Hollan fox-news/food-drink/food/restaurants fox-news/food-drink/food/fast-food fox news fnc/food-drink fnc article 83af0f27-9bfe-519a-8005-14eced3870fa

This mom was shocked and surprised at the way she was treated at a Georgia Chick-fil-A.

A manager reportedly asked the woman to “cover up” while she was breastfeeding her infant daughter in the dining room of the fast-food place. After sharing her story on social media, a group of moms staged a “nurse-in” at the restaurant.

Samantha Dawn McIntosh shared her story on Facebook, where she wrote, “So imagine my shock and surprise when I am sitting at Chick-fil-a yesterday with my 9-year-old niece and my daughter (breastfeeding) and the manager walks up out of nowhere and tries to hand me her jacket saying someone has complained and would prefer if I cover up because of the other children in the restaurant…please keep in mind that I am wearing a nursing tank top under a large long sleeve shirt. My shirt was pulled up and resting on my daughter’s cheek and my tank top was pulled down just enough for my daughter to latch so I happen to know that absolutely no skin was showing and we sat in a booth in the back of the restaurant.”

VETERAN CLAIMS HE WAS KICKED OUT OF MCDONALD’S FOR WEARING BLADE AROUND HIS NECK

According to McIntosh, she told the manager that she would finish feeding her baby later, although she admits that she “got angry” over the incident. She then wrote that another mother in the restaurant noticed the situation and called over a different manager to inquire about the company’s policy and ask for the corporate contact information.

“So the original manager that approached me now noticed it has caused a problem with another customer and comes back TO ME to inform me that they have every right to ask me to cover up when I’m nursing my child and that I should just leave it at that,” McIntosh continued. “So I quickly packed the kids and left, all while trying to explain to my niece that I wasn’t doing anything wrong by nursing and that some people don’t see it for what it is (feeding a hungry baby). Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in the way Chick-fil-a management handled the situation.”

McIntosh’s post was shared over 15,000 times and received about 14,000 reactions. Motivated by the post, a group of moms held a “nurse-in” at the restaurant, CBS 46 reports. The group told reporters that it’s legal to breastfeed in Georgia “anywhere a mother is allowed to bring a child.”

The owner of the Chick-fil-A, Jason Adams, spoke with local news outlet WRDW, saying, “I am truly sorry for the experience Ms. McIntosh had in our restaurant yesterday. I have reached out to her to personally apologize. My goal is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for all of our guests.”

Famed chef Paul Bocuse’s restaurant downgraded to 2 Michelin stars after 55 years

The restaurant of French chef Paul Bocuse, who died two years ago, has lost one of its Michelin stars after holding three since 1965, a world record.

The Michelin guide announced Friday that the restaurant in Collonges-au-Mont-d’or, near the French city of Lyon, has been downgraded to two stars.

The footage also shows a man calmly sitting at one of the establishment’s tables, eating his food. Even when the fight gets close to him, he barely seems to react.

Salt Bae restaurant called cops on customer who refused to pay for $1G gold-wrapped steaks

A customer at the popular Nusr-Et steakhouse in Miami, owned by the Instagram star known as Salt Bae, had the cops called on him after he disputed a whopping $5,000 bill.

Duane Miranda said he was stunned after seeing the massive bill at the end of his group’s luxurious meal last month at the swanky restaurant, according to the Miami Herald.

Nusr-Et is known for its signature tomahawk steaks, in which the meat is cut tableside in performative fashion. The restaurant’s owner, Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, performs the task himself on nights he’s in town.

NYC SALT BAE OPENING BURGER JOINT IN NYC

Gökçe earned the nickname Salt Bae after going viral on Instagram for the culinary routine, in which he artfully cuts the meat and garnishes it with salt. The gimmick has made him a social media and international sensation, and he has restaurants around the globe, including in New York City, Mykonos, Dubai and Istanbul.

But Miranda is now on a mission to expose Nusr-Et after his dramatic dispute with the restaurant.

“I think they’re out to victimize their customers,” Miranda said. “It’s a bait-and-switch.”

RESTAURANT OWNER CALLS OUT ALLEGED DINE-AND-DASHERS, LIKENS SELF TO SUPERHERO ON FACEBOOK

On Dec. 28, 2019, Miranda and his party of three couples dined at the Miami location, where they ordered a pair of steaks and a rack of lamb. Where things get completed is when Miranda claims the staff insisted that they order the “golden” option, in which the meats are wrapped in an edible 24-karat gold leaf.

What Miranda didn’t know, he said, was that the gold option came with an upcharge, costing $1,000 each. The standard tomahawk steaks are considerably cheaper at $275 each.

When the couples refused to pay until the manager adjusted the hefty bill, the police were called. The party ended up paying the bill to avoid further conflict.

Miranda, who said he was “flabbergasted” by the incident, has since taken to social media and several online review sites to call out Salt Bae and his culinary empire.

In one post, Miranda calls Gökçe a “communist-loving piece of crap,” apparently referring to the time Salt Bae hosted and fed Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro and honored Fidel Castro.

The restaurant stands by the bill, pointing out that all of its prices are clearly marked on its menus. The general manager, identified only as Oguz, also claims the couples threatened to leave without paying the bill.

“I have people with bills of $20,000; $30,000; $40,000. I never had this issue,” he said.

Miranda said he is no stranger to dropping big bucks for services, including a boys’ night at a night club where they ordered bottles costing $2,400. The difference, he claims, is that Nusr-Et did not tell them about the upcharge.

This isn’t the first time the restaurant has encountered similar disputes.

Miami police were reportedly called to the restaurant at least 12 times when a customer disputed a bill. Outraged diners have also taken to social media to post pictures of their jaw-dropping receipts.

Miranda said he has since asked American Express to dispute the charge.

As for what was left of the four-figure meal, Miranda said he took home both foot-long tomahawk bones that come with the steak — one of which was for his friend’s dog. The other he plans to have tested to see if the gold left on it is actually 24 karats.

20-year-old McDonald’s burger still looks brand new, smells like cardboard

Despite its youthful appearance, this burger is old enough to vote.

A McDonald’s burger purchased in 1999 looks like it could have been cooked yesterday. According to its owners, the decades-old meat only faintly smells of cardboard.

David Whipple originally bought the burger at a McDonald’s in Logan, Utah, in July of 1999, KUTV reports. He had originally purchased the burger to use in a demonstration about enzymes and deterioration.

WENDY’S JOKES ABOUT 10-PATTY BURGER, BUT IT MIGHT BECOME A REAL THING

David explained to the news outlet, “It got stuck in a coat pocket. The coat got thrown in the back of my van, and I guess it just got hung up on our closet in Logan. Subsequently, we moved from Logan to St. George, Utah, and it stayed there for a couple of years and I think my wife was giving the coat away or something and found it.”

The burger originally went viral in 2013, when it was first revealed to the world. After that, however, it was put back in a tin, where it was stored until recently.

KUTV recently caught up with Whipple and decided to open the tin and check on the burger. Aside from the pickle, which is gone by this point, the burger and bun still look relatively the same. The major difference, Whipple said, is that the burger now has a faint cardboard smell.

On Jan. 2, McDonald’s introduced its inaugural vegan meal across the pond with the launch of Veggie Dippers. Punk band hosts concert at Denny’s; fans allegedly cause ‘more than a grand’ in damages

That’s the price you pay for such aggressive Grand Slam-dancing.

A Denny’s restaurant in Santa Ana, Calif. was reportedly damaged on Saturday night after the management allowed a hardcore punk band from Long Beach to play a show in the dining room.

DENNY’S WAITRESS GIFTED A CAR BY CUSTOMERS

The musical group Wacko — whose songs include “Human Fertilizer” and “4 out of 4 Americans Got Me F—ed Up,” according to their Bandcamp page — had shared news of the restaurant’s condition to Instagram the following day, telling followers that the person who arranged the concert was now being charged for damages to “the tables to chairs to the f—ing chandelier.”

“If you broke s— on purpose you suck but at least you and any1 who has a heart for what this kid pulled off should donate some money to his a–,” the band wrote.

The friend who arranged the show, identified as Bryson, had also reportedly remarked that the damages could total “more than a grand easily,” according to the Instagram announcement.

In footage from Saturday night, Wacko’s fans could be seen moshing and attempting to crowdsurf in the dining area. Another fan also shared a video that appeared to show fans who couldn’t get into the venue but watched through the large, airy windows of the Santa Ana Denny’s.

A representative for Denny’s was not immediately available to comment on the concert or confirm the total damages to the restaurant.
