Call it double trouble.

Twin brothers driving separate vehicles were both charged with driving while intoxicated over the weekend after two deputies were injured in a crash on a Houston freeway.

The Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office said in a Facebook post that officers were initially investigating a “major accident” in which a 19-year-old woman was killed late Saturday on the Sam Houston Parkway.

As officers were directing traffic, two vehicles, a pickup truck driven by 37-year-old James Bramlet and a car driven by his twin brother, Joseph Bramlet, were involved in a separate crash that caused the truck to slam into a K-9 patrol vehicle, according to police.

Another deputy inside the K9 patrol vehicle suffered head, neck and back pain as a result of the crash, according to police.

“K9 Evo, who was also inside the patrol vehicle, was uninjured,” police said.

After an investigation, officials said they determined both brothers were intoxicated and subsequently charged the two with DWI. James was also charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon, according to police. Both officers were transported to an area hospital for treatment, and have since been released.

Police said that the department’s “thoughts and prayers” are with those affected by the two crashes, “especially the family of the young woman who died.”

The investigation into both of the incidents is ongoing.

It’s hard to care when a billionaire suffers abuse at the hands of our justice system. But the case of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has been a travesty, and we should all pay attention.

In February, when Kraft was arrested on charges of soliciting prostitution at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Fla., the media coverage immediately gravitated to the alleged human-trafficking angle.

A few days after the arrest, Chief Assistant State Attorney Tom Bakkedahl said it was unclear how many trafficked women were employed at the spa.

“It could be anywhere from two to five (victims) at this stage, but I’m not positive,” he said. “Those who have been identified as potential victims are being cared for; I have been informed of that.”

At a press conference about the arrests, Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg said, “Modern-day slavery can happen anywhere, including in the peaceful community of Jupiter.”

Indiana State Police are to make an announcement about the investigation into the 2017 killings of two teenage girls found dead on a hiking trail.

State police say Superintendent Doug Carter will discuss how the investigation has gone in a “new direction” during a midday Monday news conference in Delphi.

The bodies of 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams were found in February 2017 on a hiking trail near Delphi, about 60 miles (95 kilometers) northwest of Indianapolis. The slayings remain unsolved.

Investigators on a multi-agency task force have gone through thousands of leads looking for a man who forced the teens off the trail, ordering them to go “down the hill.” Police also have released a composite sketch from eyewitnesses who believe they saw the man in Delphi.

A Missouri teacher is accused of hiring a hitman to kill a 10-year-old boy he allegedly molested.

Deonte Taylor, 36, and his boyfriend Michael Johnson, 66, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges in a St. Louis court on Wednesday, KSDK reported.

Taylor was busted in November after his DNA was found to match samples found on his former student.

WYOMING MAN RECALLS EX-WIFE’S ATTEMPT TO HIRE A HITMAN IN NEW DOC: ‘I DON’T THINK SHE HAS REMORSE’

He’s facing three charges of first-degree statutory sodomy related to the accusation that he took the then-7-year-old boy from class at an elementary school where he worked as a teacher’s assistant in 2015, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Court papers said he took the boy to another room, where the boy performed oral sex on him, KSDK reported.

The boy reported the alleged attack right away, but the investigation lingered after the detective on the case left the department, and charges were not immediately filed.

In the meantime, Taylor got his teaching certificate, and was hired as a teacher by a different school district. He passed a series of background checks despite the open case in his prior district, and was working at a different elementary school when he was arrested, the station reported. That district alerted families about the accusations at Taylor’s former school after he was nabbed.

Investigators said in February, Taylor met a fellow inmate and arranged to have him kill the boy — and his mother —  when that inmate was released. The man instead became a confidential informant for the police, the outlet reported.

Meanwhile, Taylor then talked to Johnson, whom he lived with before he was busted, and allegedly convinced Johnson to pay for the hit, the station reported. Court papers say Johnson paid the man.

Taylor and Johnson were charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution.

A Michigan father intentionally shot his 2-year-old son in the face during a heated argument with the boy’s mother last Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Michael Christopher Glance, 32, faces multiple felony charges in connection with the April 16 shooting of his son.

Jackson County Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kati Rezmierski said Glance got into argument with the boy’s mother, Nicole McCarthy, in their Blackman Township home. Glance allegedly held a pistol to the boy’s temple and pulled the trigger, but it malfunctioned, mlive.com reported.

The mother took the boy to the car and strapped him in a seat, the report said. Glance came out of the house with a shotgun and allegedly fired the weapon, blowing half his son’s face off, according to the report. Glance fired at the mother as she fled the scene with her son in the car, but the shotgun malfunctioned, Rezmierski said.

A mother in San Diego holding a 10-month-old baby while waving a gun was tackled at a church on Easter and ultimately arrested after she made threats to blow up the building, according to reports.

A service was ending at the non-denominational Tsidkenu Church in the Clairemont community of San Diego when “a lady came in with a gun and started talking delusional stuff,” Ronald Farmer told Fox 5.

“After she started pointing the gun at the baby, one of the older gentlemen grabbed it from her, and then me and a couple of other men tackled her,” said David Michael Miller, as KABC reported. “We got the baby away from her. A few minutes after that, the cops came in. She was trying to run away or something so a cop tackled her through a row of chairs. They arrested her and pulled another gun out of her bra.”

Police kill suspect at North Carolina shopping center

North Carolina investigators are conducting a probe into the fatal shooting of a man by a police officer in the state’s capital city, authorities said Sunday.

Soheil Antonio Mojarrad, 30, was killed in an encounter with an officer Saturday night at a shopping center in the eastern part of the city, Raleigh police said.

It’s unclear what prompted the shooting. Officials did not immediately disclose whether Mojarrad was armed with a gun or other weapon when he was shot.

Police identified the officer involved in the shooting as W.B. Edwards. Edwards was equipped with a body-worn camera at the time of the shooting, but that it was not activated, officials said. Raleigh police and agents with the State Bureau of Investigation were reviewing other video related to the incident, police said.

Authorities said the SBI will submit the findings of its criminal investigation directly to the Wake County District Attorney. Raleigh police will conduct an internal affairs investigation focused on compliance with departmental policy, while local detectives will investigate Mojarrad’s actions leading up to the shooting.

According to the City-County Bureau of Identification’s website, Mojarrad has a string of arrests in the Raleigh area dating to 2009 and was most recently arrested in January on a charge of simple assault.

Mojarrad, who was charged in 2017 with assault on a company or campus police officer and disorderly conduct, also has been arrested several times on drug charges, as well as charges of larceny and trespass.

Online records also indicate that he was arrested in Flagler County, Florida, in 2009 and charged with shoplifting and resisting an officer.

Colorado dog reunited with Florida family after 2017 theft

Westlake Legal Group og-fox-news Colorado dog reunited with Florida family after 2017 theft SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. fox-news/us/crime fnc/us fnc dbe2a0fb-f6e1-5ab8-9adc-9dd68fcd71de Associated Press article

A dog found abandoned in Colorado has been returned to its family, nearly two years after it was stolen in Florida as a puppy.

Animal charity organization Wings of Rescue says the German Shepherd named Cedar was covered with snow in a rural Colorado ditch, apparently malnourished with an injured leg when a deputy marshal found her. The pet was identified thanks to its microchip.

The youngest of four dogs in the Peterson family, Cedar was stolen from their backyard in May 2017 in the town of Southwest Ranches, north of Miami. At the time, other signs for missing pets were going up around the community.

Back then, Tamara Peterson told reporters that she thought someone had hopped the fence to take the 4-month-old puppy. The family posted flyers with Cedar’s photos around the town, drove around several neighborhoods and hired a detective to track the pet down.

It was not clear how the dog wound up nearly 2,000 miles (3,219 kilometers) away in the Colorado town of Hugo. Deputy Marshal Steve Ryan found Cedar in a ditch and picked the dog up to put it in his car.

When Ryan took the dog to a veterinarian, she scanned the pet for a microchip and found out the puppy belonged in South Florida. Then the Petersons got a phone call.

“I immediately cried,” Tamara Peterson told The Miami Herald . “I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. It’s almost two years to the day.”

After three weeks of recovery, Wings of Rescue, a charity known for flying pets in disaster zones, helped arrange Cedar’s return flight on Saturday. The Peterson kids petted Cedar’s furry chest and neck on a Fort Lauderdale airport tarmac as the dog looked around and shook its body.

“Miracles do happen, especially when you microchip your pet,” the animal charity wrote on a Facebook post about Cedar.

Peterson said Cedar has been resting, and the family is planning to take her out swimming as soon as she looks better.
