Left-leaning celebrities took to Twitter to voice their outrage after President Trump issued remarks on impeachment following his acquittal on two articles in the Senate.

Trump on Thursday spoke at the White House for what he called a “celebration” that his impeachment trial ended without him being removed from office. The Senate on Wednesday acquitted the president on both articles of impeachment against him — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress — following a weeks-long trial.

“It was evil. It was corrupt. It was dirty cops. It was leakers and liars. This should never, ever happen to another president, ever,” Trump said. “It was a disgrace.”

STARS REACT TO DONALD TRUMP’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

The president’s remarks prompted an immediate backlash from his detractors in show business, who took to Twitter to voice their complaints publicly, with many lambasting not only the president but the Republicans who voted to acquit him as well.

“Republicans are now accomplices to Trump’s abuses of power,” wrote former “Two and a Half Men” actor Jon Cryer.

“Hurry honey, get the kids in here to watch this historic moment!” mocked comedian David Cross.

“I always thought “The Emperor’s New Clothes” was a parable, not a history lesson,” comedian Michael Ian Black wrote.

“I’m calling unsportsmanlike behavior. Election Penalty, 4 years,” mocked former “Star Trek” actor George Takei.

“Yesterday on live TV Trump said ‘bulls—.’ The literal word ‘bulls—,’ not just the wet gush of it that usually spews forth from his trap. SUCH a classy guy.  But I didn’t notice #MoscowMitch chide him for his ‘incivility’, like he did Nancy. #MoscowMitch? Nasty old hypocrite,” Bette Midler noted.

TRUMP’S POST-ACQUITTAL SPEECH BASHED BY MAINSTREAM MEDIA: ‘THIS IS REALLY CRAZY’

“Trump and Clinton sure did respond differently to being impeached,” wrote Alyssa Milano over a video comparing Trump’s speech to Clinton’s after his impeachment closed.

“When is the orchestra gonna play him off?” actor Adam Goldberg joked.

“Why’s this garbage minstrel show even being broadcast?” wrote “Westworld” actor Jeffrey Wright.

In September 2019, Beatrice’s parents, Prince Andrew of York and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, who are divorced, announced her engagement to Mozzi. Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne.

A source told People that Beatrice and Mozzi’s wedding will be a “low-key” celebration amid reports that the ceremony will not be televised due to Prince Andrew’s alleged involvement with late convicted felon Jeffrey Epstein.

A number of passengers aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship are being tested for the coronavirus after arriving at a port in Bayonne, N.J., on Friday morning.

The passengers, believed to be Chinese nationals, had been kept in isolation aboard the Anthem of the Seas before docking at the port, according to sources for the New York Post.

As of Friday morning, it was not immediately clear how many passengers reported feeling ill. Some sources have reported that the number may be over a dozen.

CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK: WHAT DOES TRAVEL INSURANCE COVER?

“We are closely monitoring developments regarding coronavirus and have rigorous medical protocols in place onboard our ships,” a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean said in a statement provided to the outlet on Friday morning.

“We continue to work in close consultation with the CDC, the WHO, and local health authorities to align with their guidance and ensure the health and wellbeing of our guests and crew,” they added.

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis said he believed local officials would be “equipped to address any concerns” that should arise.

“I have been briefed on the RC cruise ship arriving this morning,” Mayor Davis said on Twitter. “I am certain that the NJ [DoH, CDC, and PA NY/NJ are prepared and equipped to address any concerns this morning.”

Trump Impeachment 2.0: Historic fight spurs new probes and clashes even after trial

Westlake Legal Group Jerry-Nadler-Donald-Trump-AP Trump Impeachment 2.0: Historic fight spurs new probes and clashes even after trial Ronn Blitzer fox-news/politics/trump-impeachment-inquiry fox news fnc/politics fnc d46ecf3a-8615-54ea-9627-b3a8d54357c3 article

The Senate impeachment trial of President Trump may have ended with an acquittal, but ongoing legal battles and talk of future subpoenas hint that the drama between Congress and the White House is far from over.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., was dismissive of Trump’s acquittal, calling it “virtually valueless” and the result of “one of the largest cover-ups in the history of our nation.” And remarks from multiple House Democrats show that they are still looking for more information they can use against the president.

HOUSE DEMS RAISE PROSPECT OF NEW IMPEACHMENT ARTICLES IN COURT BATTLE OVER MCGAHN TESTIMONY

Meanwhile, the president delivered celebratory remarks with supporters on Thursday as his White House declared vindication, maintaining as he did throughout the impeachment inquiry and trial, that he “did nothing wrong.”

But one matter could result in new developments as early as Friday, with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals expected to issue a ruling in the near future regarding whether the House Judiciary Committee can compel the testimony of former White House Counsel Don McGahn.

In a court filing for that case, House Democrats revealed that McGahn’s testimony related to information in the Special Counsel’s Russia report could even be used for new articles of impeachment.

“If McGahn’s testimony produces new evidence supporting the conclusion that President Trump committed impeachable offenses that are not covered by the Articles approved by the House, the Committee will proceed accordingly—including, if necessary, by considering whether to recommend new articles of impeachment,” the committee’s December brief stated, noting that they still have “ongoing impeachment investigations.”

According to former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, Trump had instructed McGahn to relay orders to have Mueller fired, which Trump’s critics have said is enough to justify an obstruction of justice charge, although this was not included in the articles of impeachment that were the subject of Trump’s recent trial.

The D.C. Circuit’s ruling in that case could influence how House Democrats proceed with other avenues of investigation. Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., warned Wednesday that he may issue a subpoena for former national security adviser John Bolton in order to further delve into Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.

TRUMP PROUDLY DISPLAYS ‘ACQUITTED’ HEADLINES, MERE FEET FROM PELOSI AT PRAYER BREAKFAST

Rep. Madeline Dean, D-Pa., said Thursday that she spoke to Nadler and that she believes that Democrats “will be doing continuing oversight, including having Mr. Bolton.”

When asked about this, House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., simply said, “Well, that’s a topic we can discuss later,” although days prior to Trump’s acquittal she told Bloomberg, “The investigations and oversight will continue,” and made reference to “several cases.”

Bolton had said he would comply with a Senate subpoena if he received one during Trump’s impeachment trial, but House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Wednesday that after the Senate voted not to call witnesses, Bolton refused to submit a sworn affidavit.

Bolton has not commented on Schiff’s claim.

The legal battles may not all be waged from the same side of the aisle, however, as Republicans are looking to punch back.

Days before Trump’s acquittal, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that in the coming weeks, Republicans would be investigating the anonymous whistleblower, whose complaint about Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky led to the impeachment inquiry. Graham also said he wanted to look into Hunter Biden’s dealings with Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, and any potential conflict of interest with former Vice President Joe Biden.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., announced in a letter Wednesday they are seeking “records of Hunter Biden’s travel while he was under U.S. Secret Service protection as they continue to investigate potential conflicts of interest to boost his business ventures in Ukraine and China.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has also been in the GOP’s crosshairs. House Republicans introduced a resolution Wednesday against Pelosi after she tore up a copy of the State of the Union address Tuesday night.

The privileged resolution, introduced by Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas, slammed Pelosi’s behavior as “a breach of decorum and degraded the proceedings of the joint session, to the discredit of the House.” The House on Thursday voted to table the measure.

‘Birds of Prey’ star Margot Robbie on what makes Harley Quinn unique: ‘She defies social norms in every way’

It’s been three and a half years since Margot Robbie made a splash in the world of comic book movies by playing Harley Quinn in “Suicide Squad.”

Now, the anti-hero is back and better than ever in “Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).”

The character — who now embarks on a journey of her own — stands out for many reasons, but for Robbie, 29, it’s the stereotypes the character breaks that make her special.

“I think the mere fact that we eliminated a romantic storyline kind of goes against what we’re used to or accustomed to seeing in a film when you have a female protagonist,” Robbie told Fox News. “I think Harley defies expectations in every way, she defies social norms in every way and that’s just part of her [behavior].”

As to whether she thinks people will be upset by the progressiveness of the character, Robbie isn’t worried.

“I think people are really responding to something different these days,” she said. “I think any time a movie or TV show is seemingly breaking the mold, people seem to respond extremely positively and I think that will happen in this case.”

Robbie explained that “Birds of Prey” is “fresh and different,” as well as unlike any other comic book film to date.

The two-time Oscar nominee also said that it was “so fun” to play a character as eccentric as Harley Quinn.

A LOOK BACK AT KIRK DOUGLAS’ BIGGEST ROLES

“I mean, there is so much to her and she is so unapologetically herself,” Robbie said. “She does insane things all the time and that is such a gift as an actor because you have many options and you can behave in erratic and unpredictable ways and you can do the things you can’t do in real life.”

“She’s still very human in her vulnerability and her emotions,” the actress said. “That’s a great thing for me to tap into and I think for audiences to tap into.”

Robbie’s co-star Jurnee Smollett-Bell told Fox News that it was “special” to participate in such a female-centric film.

“I think we all were quite aware of the fact we were part of something that hadn’t been done before to have an R-rated action, comic book, girl gang movie,” said Smollett-Bell, 33. “It felt like: ‘Oh wow, this is new and exciting and refreshing,’ and honestly, just to come to work with these bad–s chicks, it was just so exciting and unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of.”

In the same interview, Rosie Perez, who also stars in the film, said she felt similarly.

“For me personally, I’ve always known women could kick a–. I’ve kicked a few a–es myself in my lifetime,”  said Perez, 55.

As China struggles with the coronavirus outbreak and the world prepares to handle a possible epidemic, the “Fox News Rundown” podcast spoke with Fox Business Network’s Liz Claman, who broke down how the virus will impact the China trade deal.

“A lot of people may not realize there’s kind of a pause clause in [the trade agreeement], if you will,” host Lisa Brady asked Claman.

“Oh, yes. The pause clause says pending market conditions or dependent upon market conditions,” Claman responded.

California man flees sexual assault trial to visit Michigan girl he met online, cops say

A California man was arrested Wednesday after skipping his sexual assault trial to see a Michigan girl he met online, according to the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Alan Khatoonian was found guilty in December of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office said. Police said he was awaiting sentencing when he left the state and was tracked down by U.S. Marshalls and Michigan state police.

Khatoonian had sexually assaulted the girl at his home while her mother was in the bathroom, and again while the mother was sitting on the other side of the couch from them, the attorney’s office said.
