Trump, in Super Bowl interview with Sean Hannity, predicts fall of Pelosi: ‘Radical left is gonna take over’

In an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity during the Super Bowl LIV pregame show, President Trump confirmed that the State of the Union address would go ahead as scheduled on Tuesday — just a day before the Senate is set to overwhemingly acquit him after a months-long impeachment process.

“I think she’s a very confused, very nervous woman,” Trump said, referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, who reluctantly announced impeachment proceedings last year after months of resisting the progressive wing of her party.

“I don’t think she wanted to do this,” Trump continued. “I think she really knew what was going to happen, and her worst nightmare has happened. I don’t think she’s gonna be there too long, either. I think that the radical left — and she’s sorta radical left too, by the way — but I think the radical left is gonna take over.”

The president cited the personal cost of the multiple investigations that have taken place during his administration, saying the media is deliberately ignoring historic economic numbers and “the good stuff” to focus on invented scandals.

“Her worst nightmare has happened.”

— President Trump on Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

“Well, it’s been very unfair. From the day I won … from the day I came down from the escalator. … it probably started from there. It’s been a very, very unfair process,” Trump said. “The Mueller Report, Russia, Russia, Russia, as you say, which was total nonsense — it was all nonsense, the whole thing. It was very unfair, and mostly it was unfair to my family. I mean, my family suffered because of all this. And many other families suffered also.”

But, Trump said, his supporters would remain undeterred.

“There’s a revolution going on in this country, and I mean a positive revolution,” Trump said, noting that unemployment rates have plummeted among minority groups.

The president also asserted that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was “rigging the election again” against “crazy” Bernie Sanders and candidates like Cory Booker, after the DNC announced it would change debate rules in a way that would help Mike Bloomberg appear on stage.

BLOOMBERG’S $10M SUPER BOWL AD IS MISLEADING, COURT DOCS SHOW

Asked what he felt about Bloomberg, Trump didn’t hold back.

“Uh, very little. I just think of little,” Trump said. “You know, now he wants a box for the debates to stand on. OK, it’s OK, there’s nothing wrong. You can be short. Why should he get a box to stand on, OK? He wants a box for the debates. Why should he be entitled to that? Really. Does that mean everyone else gets a box? … I would love to run against Bloomberg.”

Trump added that the U.S. has offered assistance to China amid the deadly coronavirus outbreak, and hinted that more aggressive action may be taken as the problem worsens.

“Well we’ve pretty much shut it down, coming in from China. We have a tremendous relationship with China. … We’re offering ’em tremendous help,” Trump said. “But we can’t have thousands of people coming in who may have this problem, the coronavirus. So, we’re gonna see what happens.”

Separately, Hannity asked Trump to quickly describe what he thought of other prominent Democrats:

On Joe Biden: “I just think of ‘Sleepy.’ I just watch him. He’s sleepy. Sleepy Joe.”

On Hunter Biden: “Where’s Hunter? Where is he? He made millions of dollars — he went from having no job, no income, he had nothing. As you know, he had a very sad experience in the military. He has nothing, to making millions and millions of dollars of year. Not just from Ukraine. From China. And from other countries. How can you do this? This is crooked as hell. What they did is very dishonest.”

WHOOPS: BIDEN CAMPAIGN TOUTS ANTI-CORRUPTION ACTIVIST IN UKRAINE WHO CALLED HUNTER BIDEN’S ACTIONS ‘VERY BAD’

On Bernie Sanders: “Well, I think he’s a communist. I mean, you know, look, I think of communism when I think of Bernie. You could say ‘socialist.’ Didn’t he get married in Moscow?” (Hannity then interjected that Sanders had honeymooned in the Soviet Union.)

“At least he’s true to what he believes,” Trump concluded, by way of contrast with Elizabeth Warren.

On Warren: “She’s not true to it. I call her ‘fairy tale.’ Because everything’s a fairy tale. That’s how Pochahontas got started. This woman can’t tell the truth.”

On Hillary Clinton: “I think of emails. I think of the email scandal. How she got away with that is a disgrace.”

This is a developing story. Check back soon for updates.

Brexit prompts rowdy London parties, quiet Scottish vigils and protesters demanding public housing residents ‘speak English’

Thousands of Brexit supporters waving the Union Jack, and others even dressed as the twelfth-century English King Richard the Lionheart, gathered in London’s Parliament Square Friday night for a massive celebration of the United Kingdom’s official exit from the European Union.

BREXIT IS OFFICIAL: UK LEAVES EUROPEAN UNION

Meanwhile, police in Norwich, England, investigated “racist” flyers telling residents in order to have a “Happy Brexit Day,” they should “speak English” or go back to their home country so the local government could let British people live in their public housing apartments. And anti-Brexiteers in Scotland, which voted to remain in the EU in 2016, held solemn vigils instead of the more rowdy celebrations in London.

Following the historic departure, Nigel Farage, the leader of the Brexit Party, will travel to Washington Sunday in order to attend President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday.  In a London speech, he shot down speculation he’d be joining Trump on his 2020 campaign trail – telling the crowd he’ll spend most of next year in the UK to ensure Prime Minister Boris Johnson delivers on Brexit policy proposals.

“The war is over,” Farage said in his speech. “This is the single most important moment in the modern history of our great nation…We have to make sure that we watch every step of this journey over the next 11 months and more and we will do that.”

Three and half years after the British public voted to leave the EU, Brexit was finally set into motion Friday night. The historic referendum vote was held months before Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Now an 11-month transition period will allow the UK to negotiate new deals on trade and security while following the bloc’s rules.

“We’re open for business from the rest of the world. We want unity, peace and stability,” Caroline Jones, of the Welsh Brexit Party, told the BBC. “That’s what we didn’t have because we were in limbo for three and a half years, so as well as it being exciting, it’s also a relief.”

A recording of Big Ben’s bells sounded when the departure became official at 11 p.m. London time when the clock struck midnight in Brussels, Belgium, where the EU is headquartered. The crowd belted “God Save the Queen,” as some were photographed setting fire to the European Union flag in the streets, others trampling on the bloc flag, covering it in a thick layer of mud and grass.

Meanwhile in Scotland, which voted to remain in the European Union during the 2016 referendum vote, solemn Brexit vigils were held in several cities, government buildings in Edinburgh were lit up in the EU’s blue and yellow, and the bloc’s flag continued to fly outside the Scottish Parliament.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said Brexit was “a moment of profound sadness.” British flags were quietly removed from the bloc’s many buildings in Brussels.

On Sunday, police in Norfolk, England, launched an investigation“Happy Brexit Day” notices stuck to the doors in a 15-story public apartment building demanding residents speak English or get out following Friday’s departure from the European Union.

“We finally have our great country back… we do not tolerate people speaking other languages than English in the flats,” the flyers posted on the doors in Winchester Tower, a public housing building for people ages 55 and up, reportedly said, according to BBC. “We are not our own country again” and the “Queens English is the spoken tongue here.”

“If you do want to speak whatever is the mother tongue of the country you came from then we suggest you return to that place and return your flat to the council so they can let British people live here and we can return to what was normality before you infected this once great island,” the notices, which surfaced Friday before being taken down, read.

Residents and other demonstrators denounced the flyers as racist and protested outside the building Sunday, posting new notices reading: “Everybody is welcome in Norwich,” The Guardian reported.

Parties on Super Bowl Sunday for homeless people are being held across the country

This is one party that’s definitely worth throwing.

While parties on Super Bowl Sunday tend to either be for watching the big game or checking out the commercials, one party-thrower is taking a different approach. Three years after inviting several homeless people to a party on Super Bowl Sunday, a young Internet personality has started a movement.

“Super Bowl is this unofficial holiday in the US,” Meir Kalmanson explained to Fox 8. “There’s all this stuff going on for those who are experiencing homelessness around Christmas and Thanksgiving but nothing for the Super Bowl.” (iStock)

Meir Kalmanson was inspired to help the homeless after a chance meeting in New York City, Fox 8 reports.

“He was holding a cardboard sign and on it said, ‘I don’t want anything to eat. I don’t want to drink. All I want is to be seen. I want to talk to somebody,”‘ Kalmanson told the news outlet. “That just hit me in the gut.”

After sitting down and talking to the man and hearing about he felt alone, Kalmanson says he was inspired to invite several homeless people to a rooftop party his friend was throwing on Super Bowl Sunday.

“Super Bowl is this unofficial holiday in the US,” Kalmanson explained. “There’s all this stuff going on for those who are experiencing homelessness around Christmas and Thanksgiving but nothing for the Super Bowl.”

Over the following years, Kalmanson created Super Soul Party, which also hosts clothing drives and helps provide free hygiene kits, haircuts, manicures and on-site therapists.

This year, Super Soul Party is teaming up with homeless shelters in about 15 cities across the country and is hosting events on Super Bowl Sunday. In total, there are about 20 parties planned across the country.

“Ultimately, the mission of the Super Bowl party is less about the party,” Kalmanson said. “It is just the stage for human beings to come together, put … aside our differences, our struggles or challenges, and connect on a human level to show love, compassion.”

Rep. Ted Budd: Americans rejecting anti-gun policies – I applaud 2nd Amendment sanctuary movement

Westlake Legal Group 694940094001_6126062545001_6126062381001-vs Rep. Ted Budd: Americans rejecting anti-gun policies – I applaud 2nd Amendment sanctuary movement Ted Budd fox-news/us/us-regions/southeast/virginia fox-news/us/personal-freedoms/second-amendment fox-news/opinion fox news fnc/opinion fnc article 7968914c-2fb1-5120-816e-58e075eadf01

Over the past few months, I’ve watched Virginia, a state that has historically respected and understood the importance of the Second Amendment, move toward a dangerous new approach that would overturn this crucial constitutional safeguard.

Red flag laws with no due process, redundant background checks, so-called “assault weapons” bans, and many other anti-gun policies have been proposed or discussed. But these policies will do little to address the mass violence problem in our society.

What’s happening here is quite simple: liberal politicians in Virginia – from Gov. Ralph Northam on down – are trying to punish responsible, law-abiding gun owners with additional regulatory restrictions instead of focusing their attention on those who commit heinous acts of violence.

TOMI LAHREN: RED FLAG LAWS WOULD CREATE DOMINO EFFECT OF DEMS INFRINGING ON 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

In response to the attacks on the Second Amendment by anti-gun politicians, 90 percent of the Virginia’s counties passed measures making themselves gun sanctuaries, ensuring that law-abiding gun owners would not have their rights threatened.

In response to Virginia’s gun control crusade, we’ve seen over 400 municipalities in 20 states, including my home state of North Carolina, pass sanctuary resolutions rejecting the enforcement of certain gun laws that would violate the Second Amendment rights of American citizens. In my district, Davidson and Rowan County leaders have passed sanctuary resolutions to push back against any state-level gun-control measures, and I applaud them for doing so.

More from Opinion

After many of the mass shootings, we see days of slanted coverage by liberal media outlets followed by a renewed push for gun control. What’s most surprising and disappointing is the lack of coverage and conversation about the need to address the root problem of mass violence.

Contrary to what you might hear, there are legislative solutions that will help prevent mass shootings that do not include gun control. For example, one bill that I strongly support is the Mass Violence Prevention Act, which would establish a fusion center at the FBI to prevent mass violence and improve law enforcement coordination, information sharing and responsiveness. Unlike many proposals that would violate the Second Amendment, this bill would take concrete steps to prevent and deter the same sort of violence that we see too often in public gathering places.

Contrary to what gun control advocates claim, a background check is required to buy a gun from a store, and it is always unlawful to transfer a firearm to a prohibited person.

Despite the existence of common-sense solutions, too many Americans are fed myths about guns and the process of purchasing them. As a gun store owner who has overseen thousands of purchases and background checks, I know what firearm regulations currently exist and the safeguards that are already in place.

Whenever individuals go to a store to buy a firearm, they can either show their concealed-carry permit, present a handgun purchase permit from their sheriff’s office (both of which require a full criminal and mental background check), or the licensed retailer is required to run a background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) or a comparable state-level system before the purchase can be completed.

Since 1998, more than 300 million checks have been completed on firearms purchases. So contrary to what gun control advocates claim, a background check is required to buy a gun from a store, and it is always unlawful to transfer a firearm to a prohibited person.

Perhaps the most troubling part of watching these policies unfold in Virginia is the fact that such laws ignore the benefits of having an armed and responsible citizenry. Just last month, a man walked into a Sunday church service in White Settlement, Texas. The assailant intended to murder as many people as he could. The reason that his attack resulted in a limited loss of life was due to the presence of volunteer security members at the church who stepped in. Following the shooting, Britt Farmer, senior minister at the West Freeway Church of Christ, said “It could have been a lot worse. I’m thankful that our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves.”

Nobody can deny the horror of mass shootings. No one should minimize the heartbreak that is felt by the victims. We all want our loved ones to come home safe. But we must remember that the Second Amendment is not the cause of these tragedies. Broken families, substance abuse and mental health disorders are recurring patterns that we see brewing inside the perpetrators of mass violence. For instance, among the 25 most-cited school shooters since Columbine, 75 percent were raised in broken homes.

An armed, law-abiding citizenry has its roots in the founding of our country. It goes to the heart of what makes America strong and free. It was Thomas Jefferson who said that “No free man shall be debarred the use of arms.”

Like Jefferson, I believe the Second Amendment is an indispensable constitutional protection that is a safeguard in defense of every American’s individual liberty. We must not sacrifice it in the heat of our heartbreak. We should develop sensible and practical solutions that deter the mass violence problem plaguing America today.

Sen. Rubio says Super Bowl is uniting in an atmosphere with ‘all the divisions in this country’

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio spoke on “Fox & Friends Weekend” ahead of Super Bowl LIV in Miami Gardens, calling the game uniting amid “all the divisions in this country.”

“The great thing about the Super Bowl is even with all the divisions in this country, maybe it’s the last thing still existing in this country that everybody does,” Rubio said on Sunday.

“Everybody in this country is going to be watching that game and have a rooting interest in it, so at least for a few hours today, everybody will be sharing an experience.”

He added, “We just don’t have those shared experiences as a country anymore.”

Rubio also discussed President Trump’s impeachment on Sunday saying, “I don’t think this should have happened to begin with.”

His comments come two days after the GOP-led Senate blocked new witnesses from testifying at the president’s trial. A deal struck with Democrats to delay the impeachment vote until Wednesday sets up a wild week ahead in politics.

SENATE IMPEACHMENT PUNT SETS UP JAMPACKED, UNPRECEDENTED WEEK IN WASHINGTON

“My view of it has always been from the beginning is, this is not something to be taken lightly,” Rubio said on Sunday.

He said in the history of this country, “We’ve had great presidents, we’ve had scoundrels in office, we’ve never removed one, and that’s a very serious thing, it’s different.”

“Impeachment is one thing,” Rubio continued. “In the Senate you vote guilty, you’re not voting guilty, you’re voting to remove, to literally take someone out of that office, the person in whom all the power of one branch of government resides.”

He went on to say, “That’s a big deal, that’s a really high standard and it’s very divisive for the country and so I don’t think this should have happened to begin with, and it’s unfortunate, but I think the Senate will do its job.”

On Monday, the House Democratic impeachment managers and Trump’s defense team will return to the Senate chamber at 11 a.m. to make their closing arguments.

The following day, senators will give floor speeches on whether or not Trump should be impeached — just hours before the commander in chief arrives at the Capitol to deliver his State of the Union address.

The White House had wanted a quick acquittal to end what they’ve dubbed a witch hunt. But the administration signaled that the delayed vote won’t stop Trump from delivering an optimistic nationally televised address Tuesday that celebrates his achievements.

SUPER BOWL LIV: JENNIFER LOPEZ, SHAKIRA TO PAY TRIBUTE TO KOBE BRYANT DURING HALFTIME SHOW

Less than 24 hours after the speech, the impeachment trial will resume on Wednesday, when the Senate will give Trump an all-but-certain acquittal on two articles of impeachment — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

“Impeachment is divisive under any circumstances, but we don’t live in normal times,” Rubio said on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday.

“There are people that wanted to impeach the president within a month of his inauguration and then you have people out there that routinely call the people, half the country that support the president or more, ‘deplorables,’ you’re automatically a xenophobe, a racist, even a traitor for supporting him. So, for a lot of the president’s supporters, this is not an impeachment of the president, it’s an impeachment of them, it’s a rejection of them. “

He went on to say, “No one can say this wasn’t partisan and no one can say there’s broad public support for removing the president.”

Rubio added that in November people will get the opportunity to decide if the president should stay in office.

“If you don’t like the president, you don’t like the job he’s done, that’s what the election is about in November and it’s like nine months away. It’s not two to three years away and that’s where you hold the president accountable.”

Four U.S. military bases in California, Colorado and Texas were selected Saturday to house up to 1,000 Americans expected to be placed under quarantine upon arrival from China where they will be examined for up to one month for signs of the coronavirus.

CHINA DEPLOYS 1,400 MILITARY DOCTORS, NURSES TO STAFF MAKESHIFT HOSPITALS IN WUHAN

Defense Secretary Mark Esper approved a request from Health and Human Services officials Saturday, designated each facility to house up to 250 Americans in individual rooms until Feb. 29, as a precaution to prevent the spread of the novel respiratory illness.

The bases selected were: Travis Air Force Base in Solano County, Calif.; Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego County, Calif.; Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas; and the 168th Regiment Regional Training Institute at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Health and Human Services will be responsible for providing transportation and caring for those housed at the bases, the Pentagon said in a statement. The Defense Department is only responsible for providing lodging, Joint Base San Antonio said in a Facebook update.  Military personnel with not interact directly with those evacuated from China, the Los Angeles Times reported.

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg released a statement confirming there have been no confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Texas border city and that the American evacuees to be housed at the Lackland Air Force Base “have no symptoms and pose no risk to our community.”

On Friday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention placed 196 people under mandatory quarantine at the March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County, Calif. The group had been evacuated from Wuhan to the southern California base earlier in the week. The CDC had not ordered a mandatory quarantine in more than 50 years, the Times reported.

Beginning Sunday, all U.S. bound flights from China will be funneled to seven major airports where passengers will undergo medical screenings for possible signs of the coronavirus. The Trump administration said anyone who had traveled to China’s Hubei province within the past 14 days will be placed under a mandatory two-week quarantine upon entering the U.S.

Announcing the public health crisis Friday, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said other Americans who traveled elsewhere in China will be instructed to self-monitor for possible symptoms. Foreign nations who recently visited China would not be permitted to enter the country. Some exceptions would be granted for the immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

Eight people have been infected with the coronavirus in the U.S., the most recent case in Massachusetts was confirmed by the state’s Department of Public Health in a press release Saturday. Astronauts aboard the International Space Station shared a photo Sunday showing Miami Gardens from outer space ahead of Super Bowl LIV.

The photo shared on Twitter shows Miami Gardens hours before kick-off between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chief — its shoreline and the ocean clearly visible.

“Magnificent Miami! This photo, taken from the International Space Station, shows a sunny day of the Sunshine State and its beautiful beaches,” the tweet said.

Freshman Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Calif., is set to give the Democrats’ Spanish-language response to President Trump’s State of the Union address.

Escobar — who was elected in the 2018 midterm elections to fill the seat vacated by Beto O’Rourke when he challenged Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, for his spot in the Senate – is an outspoken critic of the president and his administration’s hardline immigration policies.

She represents a heavily-Latino district along Texas’ border with Mexico that includes the city of El Paso and has in the past slammed the Trump administration’s family separation policy that split up children from their parents after they illegally entered the United States.

Earlier this year, Escobar introduced the Homeland Security Improvement Act, which is meant to bring more oversight to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection in their work detaining immigrants.

Escobar first entered politics back in 2006 when she was elected as a County Commissioner of El Paso County in 2006 and as the County Judge of El Paso County in 2010. Along with O’Rourke and former El Paso City Council member Steve Ortega, she was part of a group that the local media in Texas dubbed “The Progressives.”

With her election to the House in 2018, Escobar became the first woman to represent Texas’ 16th District and, along with Rep. Sylvia Garcia, the first Latina to represent Texas in the lower chamber of Congress.

Escobar was also elected late last year to be the special representative of the House’s freshman class, after Katie Hill of California resigned from her post.

Along with Escobar, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will give the Democrats’ rebuttal to Trump’s address.

The State of the Union address will occur on Feb. 4 at 9 p.m. ET.

It doesn’t matter who plays in the Super Bowl. Beer wins.

While it may not be all that surprising, Americans love beer on Super Bowl Sunday. According to a new study, before the game has even started, the country will have spent over a billion dollars on the beverage.

The Beer Institute released a breakdown of pre-Super Bowl sales on their Facebook page. According to them, “As millions around the country hit stores this week in preparation for this weekend’s Super Bowl parties, beer remains the No. 1 alcohol beverage of choice on football fans’ shopping lists. According to data provided by Nielsen, last year Americans spent $1.2 billion on beer in the two weeks leading to the Super Bowl, compared to $568 million on distilled spirits and $652 million on wine.”

They also revealed that over 58 percent of those sales were for aluminum cans of beer, with another 37.4 percent of those sales being attributed to glass bottles.

The Beer Institute also released the results of a survey of Americans celebrating the Super Bowl on their website. According to them, 76 percent of Americans plan to drink beer as they celebrate the Super Bowl.

“Across the country, men and women will take a few hours this Sunday to enjoy good friends, good food, good football, and – of course – good beer,” Jim McGreevy, president and CEO of the Beer Institute, said in the statement. “Our nation’s more than 5,600 brewers and beer importers are proud to be part of Super Bowl Sunday, and they have poured their talent and dedication into making sure each celebrant has the right beer for Sunday’s game and future occasions throughout the year.”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on the Super Bowl: ‘It’s become essentially its own holiday’

In an exclusive interview on “Sunday Morning Futures,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell talked about “the big money” surrounding Super Bowl LIV telling host Maria Bartiromo that the game becomes “bigger and bigger every year and it becomes more complicated because of that.”

“But, that’s also the fun of it because more people share in it,” he continued. “More people have an opportunity to be part of the Super Bowl, whether you’re here in Miami or whether you’re home at a Super Bowl party. That is what we love. We love engaging our fans.”

The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will go head to head Sunday for the NFL championship in Miami Gardens, Fla. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. ET, with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. ET on Fox.

Both teams were among the top seeds in the NFL Playoffs and won their conference championship games decisively.

SUPER BOWL LIV TIME, DATE AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE GAME

The NFL celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019, with last year’s Super Bowl in Atlanta marking the beginning of the league’s “NFL 100” initiatives, events and programs.

“We’re proud of our 100-year anniversary. It has been a wonderful celebration for us so that’s great, but the event is more than a football game now,” Goodell said.

“It’s something really special that people look forward to, plan around and it’s become essentially its own holiday.”

During the exclusive interview, Goodell also talked about the collective bargaining agreement with players as well as the renewals of contracts with media partners.

When Bartiromo mentioned contracts with broadcast and digital partners expiring after the 2022 season and asked how distribution might change, Goodell answered, “We love to be available on the broadest medium.”

“That’s why our network partners are important to us, but we’ve supplemented that by bringing in other opportunities to reach fans that may not be watching on network television, they may not be watching a full game, they may be watching highlights,” he continued.

“So social, over the top, digital transmission of our broadcasts are really important to us and so we make our games available on all those platforms.”

“We make it easy for people to engage because we want the broadest number of people to watch and to engage and to share in that,” he added.

Goodell also told Bartiromo “our discussions are always ongoing.”

He elaborated by saying, “I wouldn’t say we’re in formal negotiations, but we always have discussions.

“We are very open to changing packages, we’re very open to changing partners, we’re open to do the best thing we can for our fans and for the league overall for the long term,” he added.

As it pertains to the collective bargaining agreement, Goodell acknowledged that the negotiation can always be challenging, “But it’s also the opportunity.”

“Because when people really put their focus on, OK here are the challenges, now let’s work to try to find solutions, our players have been extraordinary in looking at that and coming up with solutions and saying what about if we tried this? It actually leads to really terrific solutions when two parties can come together and say, ‘Here’s a great outcome,’” he explained.

The Chiefs are appearing in the Super Bowl for the first time since 1970, when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 23-7 in Super Bowl IV. San Francisco has won five Super Bowls, but has not lifted the Lombardi trophy since 1995. Colin Kaepernick led the 49ers to their most recent Super Bowl appearance in 2013, but San Francisco fell 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII.

Goodell also told Bartiromo about measures the NFL is implementing to make the game safer, saying, “there are things that we’ve been working on for years.”

“We all want to make sure that the game is as safe as possible for our players,” Goodell said, adding that that includes answering questions like, “How do we train them? How do we take techniques out of the game? How do we take drills out of the game?”

He added, “We’re improving on the equipment. We have six new helmets being introduced this year. All of that will raise, I think, the health and safety of our players.”

Bartiromo said more of her exclusive interview with Goodell will air on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria” on Monday.
