Runners competing in the London Marathon allegedly endured taunts about weight and speed while completing their 26.2 miles last Sunday, an official race pacer claims. Liz Ayres, who paced runners to finish in 7.5 hours, claims contractors and volunteer marshals were the worst offenders as she led her group to the finish line.

“I had runners that were crying — ones saying they were going to go home and quit,” Ayres told the BBC.

Ayres even claimed that as early as three miles into the race, the water stations along the course had been packed away, and that one runner was injured by a cleaning solution used by crews who allegedly told the group to “hurry up” so that they could clear the streets quicker. She told the news outlet that the pacer leading runners to finish in 6.5 hours experienced similar taunts.

“If you look at the timings of people who finished, that means about 1,000 people were affected. That’s almost one in every 40 runners,” she said.

Another runner who finished in 8.5 hours said it was discouraging to see the course being broken down around him.

“We work hard to provide the best possible experience for every runner in the London Marathon and we were very sorry to hear about the experience of Elizabeth and a small number of other runners on Sunday,” Hugh Brasher, the marathon’s event director, said, according to the BBC.

“A senior member of our team called Elizabeth yesterday to find out more and we are now looking into this detail as part of a full investigation. We’ll be talking to the people involved to find out what happened and we’ll also be contacting the runners who were in the group being paced by Elizabeth.”

Bride allegedly tells bridesmaid she can’t bring son to destination wedding: ‘Everything is now paid for’

A bridesmaid is seeking advice after claiming her best friend told her she could no longer bring her 2-year-old son to the woman’s wedding.

The anonymous woman wrote on the forum, Mumsnet, about the upcoming nuptials and how the wedding invite stated “no children.” However, when the woman expressed her concern to the bride – noting she had “no childcare options” as her husband was going to be attending the wedding with her and her dad was “too old and sick” and had “no parents on husband’s side” – the bride said her son could come.

BRIDE CLAIMS ‘HUGELY PREGNANT’ BRIDESMAID PAL OWES HER A $30G WEDDING ‘DO-OVER’ FOR UPSTAGING HER

“The wedding invite stated “no children” and when I queried this she said they were having an adults only wedding — except obviously their own children would be there (1&3),” she claimed in the forum. “She told me that as I am a bridesmaid, my son (2) could come…”

However, as the July wedding got closer, the woman said the bride told her the son was no longer allowed.

“My husband and I took the time off work, the accommodation and the transport. Everything is now paid for. Today she has told me that my son can no longer come with us as they have decided it really is adults only and they don’t want the stress of children. She suggested I come alone and leave my husband at home with our son,” the anonymous woman wrote.

Though the woman said she understands “it is her wedding, and therefore her rules,” she is upset over the bride changing her mind after “everything is already booked.”

“Would like some second opinions please as genuinely can’t work out who is being unreasonable here,” the woman wrote.

Those on the forum agree the bride was being unreasonable.

“She is [being unreasonable]. She invited you all and you’ve now booked and paid for it,” one person wrote on the forum.

“You may be able to get a refund on the hotel/ask the bride if anyone else may want to buy it off you as you’re no longer going to be able to attend. If you’ve booked flights to the country enjoy it as a family holiday,” one person suggested.

“What an awful friend – and telling you after you’ve booked! She’s no friend. She’s just an entitled brat – she knows your situation too! Awful behavior,” another wrote, slamming the bride.

“Ditch the wedding, still go, enjoy the family time,” another one commented.

Reigning Masters Champion Tiger Woods is scheduled to play in the PGA Championship in New York on May 16 but his glamorous yacht has apparently already docked.

The PGA Championship will be held at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale. The golf superstar’s yacht, named “Privacy,” was spotted about 13 miles away — in Oyster Bay, according to MarineTraffic.com.

An Oyster Bay Marine Center staffer told Golf.com they weren’t sure if Woods was in the area.

“I don’t know if he’s here, but that’s his boat,” the staffer confirmed. “I really don’t know too much, but I know it’s [Woods’ boat].”

It was not immediately clear if Woods would be staying on his yacht during the tournament.

The yacht was said to be worth a whopping $20 million, according to Forbes. Woods reportedly bought the vessel in 2004.

On Monday, Woods is slated to celebrate his Masters win at the White House with President Trump. The famed golfer, 43, shot a 2-under 70 for a one-stroke victory in Augusta, Georgia on April 14, securing his fifth Masters win and 15th major championship.

Trump, who has golfed with Woods in the past, congratulated him on his victory and announced he would be presenting him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Florida Gators quarterback Jalon Jones was accused of sexual battery last month, though no criminal charges were filed, according to a police report.

A University of Florida student told authorities that the freshman football player sexually assaulted her in the early morning of April 6. According to the report, obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, the student got a rape kit from the Shands South Hospital the night of the alleged assault but decided not to press criminal charges.

The female student says she went to Jones’ residence and was “upset about an incident that happened earlier that night with a friend she had a disagreement with” and that Jones consoled her. However, once sexual activity began with Jones, the victim says she told him to stop several times but that he only did so when he heard Florida freshman Jaydon Hill in the living room.

Gators spokesman Steve McClain said the university is “aware of the incident reports” and that athletic and campus protocols were followed.

Jones, a four-star prospect out of Richmond, Virginia, was the 10th-ranked duel-threat quarterback and one of six four-star recruits signed by coach Dan Mullen this year.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound player decided to transfer after falling to fourth on the depth chart this spring, The Orlando Sentinel reported Wednesday, though they did not say where he would be going.

Olivia Jade is reportedly spending less time with her boyfriend amid college admissions scandal

Olivia Jade is reportedly spending less time with her singer-songwriter boyfriend, Jackson Guthy, amid the ongoing college admissions scandal.

Jade’s parents, actress Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli were swept up in the scam that exposed the lengths wealthy parents will go to in order to get their children accepted into the college of their choice. Jade, 19, is perhaps the most high-profile student involved in the ordeal, which has reportedly taken a toll on her relationship.

LORI LOUGHLIN WANTS A TRIAL TO CLEAR HER NAME IN COLLEGE ADMISSIONS SCANDAL, REPORT CLAIMS

“Olivia and Jackson haven’t been spending as much time together than they were before,” a source tells Us Weekly. “It’s a strange transitional time, but he’s trying to be there for her.”

However, a second source tells the outlet that Jackson, 23, is still trying to be there for Jade as her parents face a tough legal battle ahead.

Things have been hard for Jade, a popular YouTube celebrity who stopped posting on social media shortly after news of the scandal broke. She was previously reported to not be speaking to her parents, believing they “ruined her life” with their alleged $500,000 bribes to get her and her sister Isabella into the University of Southern California (USC).

Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded not guilty to money laundering and mail fraud. They’re accused of spending the money in order to make it look like their daughters were recruits on the school’s crew team despite never rowing in the sport.

Democrats are decrying Attorney General William Barr be charged with perjury, with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi asserting that Barr lied to Congress during a House Appropriations Committee hearing in April.

Pelosi apparently told Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Fla. in a closed-door meeting, “We saw [Barr] commit a crime when he answered your question,” referring to when Barr was asked if Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller or his team would have any objections to the summary presented by Barr of the Russia probe findings, according to a report by Politico.

DOJ CALLS OUT DEMS FOR IGNORING LESS-REDACTED MUELLER REPORT, SERVING SUBPOENA INSTEAD

“Bill Barr explained it differently yesterday and he said that he didn’t feel that Robert Mueller had any dispute with the conclusions that were drawn in the letter that he drafted but with some of the process of how it went out,” Fox News host Martha MacCallum said Thursday on “America’s Newsroom.”

She added that Mueller: “would have liked to have seen more of those summaries come out. It seems like a very fine point of distinction.”

Several Democratic lawmakers, as well as 10 2020 presidential candidates, are also calling for Barr to step down from his position.

MacCallum thinks the Democratic outrage is misplaced, while also pointing to Barr’s admission that he was surprised that Mueller’s investigation did not clearly yield any charges of obstruction of justice against President Trump despite a two-year investigation.

“I think that there’s an enormous amount of frustration that this process did not produce what Democrats thought it should and now they’ve got to figure out what their next move is,” she said.

Barr was a no-show on Thursday as the House Judiciary Committee gathered for a second hearing to discuss the Mueller report. He refused to attend the hearing after Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. insisted committee lawyers be allowed to question him instead of the usual members.

Facebook bans Louis Farrakhan, Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos for being ‘dangerous’

Facebook has permanently banned several far-right or hateful figures and organizations including Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, Infowars host Alex Jones, Laura Loomer, and Milo Yiannopoulos, for being “dangerous” — a signal that the social network is enforcing its policies against hate speech more intensely.

The company that’s led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Thursday that it removed the accounts, fan pages and groups associated with the above individuals from Facebook and Instagram after reevaluating their content or reexamining their activities outside of Facebook. The removal also applies to Infowars, the conspiracy-peddling organization run by Jones.

“We’ve always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology. The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today,” Facebook said in a statement.

GOOGLE’S SUNDAR PICHAI MADE $470 MILLION LAST YEAR

The social network, which has taken heat from civil rights groups over the last few years for not moving quickly or strongly enough against hate groups and figures, has long said that it applies its policies against dangerous individuals and organizations without regard to ideology or motivation.

Facebook examines a range of different actions and statements, including whether individuals have called directly for violence against people based on race, ethnicity or national origin, as well as if they’ve ever had pages or groups removed in the past over hate speech violations.

Jones has hosted Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, which Facebook designated as a hate figure, on his show, and long pedaled a conspiracy theory about the Sandy Hook school shooting. Yiannopoulus, described by many as a member of the alt-right and already banned by Twitter and the country of Australia, publicly praised McInnes this year.

At least one anti-Semitic political figure, Farrakhan, was banned. And Ohio Republican Paul Nehlen, also anti-Semitic and white nationalist, was also banned. Paul Joseph Watson, a British member of the alt-right who works with Infowars, has also been banned.

The company will continue to review pages, groups, content and individuals for potential violations of its hate policies.

The heroic rabbi who was wounded in the California synagogue shooting last Saturday said President Trump is supportive of reintroducing a “moment of silence” back into public schools.

Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, who wasn’t on the official schedule, was invited by Trump to the podium at the service for the National Day of Prayer. As Trump stated: “There was no one who expressed the horror and beauty of what you represent better than you did.”

Goldstein, with bandages on his hands, recalled the horrific moment the shooter entered his synagogue. And he said one thing that will help the healing is bringing back the moment of silence in school.

“Children [are] not growing up with values that our Founding Fathers started,” he said. “Something seems fundamentally wrong when there’s a generation of kids growing up doing what they’re doing.”

One person died in the shooting.

“Just five days ago, on Saturday morning, I faced evil in the worst darkness of all time right in our own house of worship, right at Chabad of Poway,” Goldstein said to the faith leaders gathered in the Rose Garden. “I faced him and I had to make a decision: Do I run and hide or do I stand tall and fight and protect all those that are there?”

DR. RONNIE FLOYD: ‘OUR NATION NEEDS PRAYER TODAY MORE THAN EVER BEFORE’

He recalled the words of his Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, who taught him “the way we react to darkness is with light.”

“It was that moment that I made a decision, that no matter what happens to me I was going to save as many people as possible. I should’ve been dead by now based on the rule of statistics. I was in the line of fire, bullets flying all the way, my fingers got blown off, but I did not stop. The rebbe taught me, as a soldier of God, you need to stand tall and stand fast do what it takes to change the world.”

TRUMP: ‘VIOLENCE AND TERRORISM AGAINST PEOPLE OF ALL FAITHS MUST END’

“My life has changed forever,” he continued, “but it changed so that I can make change, and that I can help others learn how to be strong and mighty and tall. Many have asked me, ‘Rabbi, where do we go from here? How do we prevent this?'”

“My response is what the Rebbe [said] when President Ronald Reagan was shot. The Rebbe said we need to go back to the basics and introduce a Moment of Silence in all public schools,” the rabbi said to applause. “So that children from early childhood on can recognize that there is more good to the world, that they are valuable, there is accountability and every human being is created in God’s image. If something good will come out of this terrible, terrible horrific event, let us bring back a Moment of Silence to our public school system … ”

Goldstein turned to Trump: “Mr. President when you called me I was at home weeping. You were the first person who began my healing. You heal people in their worst of times and I’m so grateful for that. You have helped me bring great honor to Mrs. Lori Kaye…”

Trump called him a “great man” with “beautiful words.”

“He said this is my greatest moment in life,” Trump added. ” To go from darkness to the White House.”

Goldstein was accompanied by congregants and fellow heroes of the attack, Oscar Stewart, the combat veteran who chased the shooter from the synagogue; and Jonathan Morales, the off-duty border-patrol agent who took up the chase and managed to shoot the attacker’s car several times.

The president asked both men to share a few words. Like his rabbi, Morales quoted the Rebbe and asked his audience to increase in mitzvah observance and acts of goodness and kindness.

Following the rabbi’s emotional remarks, the president thanked him, saying that “truly your courage and grace and devotion touches every heart and soul in America.”

President Trump on Thursday called for religious unity and tolerance in the wake of a series of deadly attacks in recent months across the globe aimed at Christians and Jews.

Speaking less than a week after an attack on Jewish worshippers at the Chabad of Poway synagogue in California, Trump said violence and terrorism against people of all faiths must end, and that “all civilized nations must join together in this effort.”

“We will fight with all our might and everything in our body to defeat anti-Semitism,” the president said during a speech in the Rose Garden to honor the National Day of Prayer.

Trump paid tribute to those killed and injured on the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka and the Muslims killed in a mass shooting in New Zealand earlier this year. He also cited the burning of three black churches in Louisiana and last year’s shooting spree at a Pittsburgh synagogue.

LEADERS STRUGGLE TO MAKE SENSE OF FATAL ATTACK ON SYNAGOGUE

The president invited a number of people to join him at the pulpit, including Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, whose hands were wounded in the shooting inside his California synagogue and was saved when a 60-year-old woman jumped in front of him. The woman, Lori Gilbert-Kaye, died later from the wounds she sustained in the attack.

“I faced evil and the worst darkness of all time right in our own house of worship,” Goldstein said on Thursday. “But the way we react against darkness is with light.”

Goldstein called Trump a mensch – a Yiddish word for a person of integrity – and said that his healing process began after the president reached out to him following the shooting.

“You were the first person that began my healing process and I’m so grateful for that,” the rabbi said.

In his remarks, the president vowed to defend religious freedom and to expand the use of faith-based organizations when it comes to issues like adoption, inmate rehabilitation and addiction recovery.

Trump’s comments come a day after Israeli researchers released a report that found violent attacks against Jews spiked significantly last year — with the largest reported number of Jews killed in anti-Semitic acts in decades — leading to an “increasing sense of emergency” among Jewish communities worldwide.

According to Tel Aviv University researchers, assaults targeting Jews rose 13 percent in 2018. They recorded nearly 400 cases worldwide, with more than a quarter of the major violent cases taking place in the United States.
