CNN anchor John King appeared to be walking back his reporting on Tuesday that the Biden campaign had planned on challenging the results of the Iowa caucuses, which faced a lengthy delay due to voter-processing errors.

Amid the ongoing coverage of the chaos that has erupted from the first Democratic primary, King reported that campaign staffers from two of former Vice President Joe Biden’s rivals that they had heard that the Biden campaign was going to “file an injunction” in an effort to block the results from the Iowa caucuses from being released.

King on-air stressed that “we don’t know if that’s true.”

The Biden campaign offered a strong denial, saying it’s “100 percent false.”

King walked back his reporting on Twitter.

“Important: Team Biden says talk it may challenge IA release plans 100% untrue. In the breaking news rush my discussing, even skeptically, incoming from rival campaigns was, in a word, stupid,” King said.

Early results released by the Iowa Democratic Party showed Biden coming in fourth, earning 15.6 percent of support. Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg has a slight lead in first place with 26.9 percent over Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., with 25.1 percent. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. appeared in third with 18.3 percent.

Meghan Trainor opens up about ‘panic attacks’ she experienced on live TV: ‘I had a mental breakdown’

Meghan Trainor is speaking out about a trying moment in her career.

The singer spoke to Apple Music and opened up about overcoming a massive panic attack while announcing the 2017 Grammy nominations on live television alongside Gayle King.

Trainor’s nerve-wracking moment came just a year after she had taken home a Grammy of her own for best new artist.

“After ‘Thank You,’ which was my last album… I met the love of my life. Everything was great. And I had vocal problems ’cause I was working too much,” Trainor, 26, said, according to Entertainment Tonight.

She said she “finally collapsed physically and emotionally” due to her mental health struggles.

“I had, like, a mental breakdown and I had panic attacks live on television with Gayle King,” Trainor continued. “I was reading the nominees for the Grammys the year after I won and I was shaking and I was like, ‘Please don’t collapse on TV right now. We’re live.'”

Despite being able to harrow through the intense TV moment, the “All About That Bass” songstress said that once the taping was completed she “fell and started scream crying and couldn’t breathe.”

“And later, they took me away,” she added. “I was supposed to do more work and they were like, ‘We’re done. This is it.'”

“The Voice UK” coach explained the reason for her anxiety was due in part to mounting expectations as a successful recording artist and fears that canceling scheduled shows could prove detrimental to her fledgling career.

“I had a lot of people tell me, like, ‘If you cancel on this 30-minute set, we’ll never play Meghan Trainor ever again,'” she said. “So I had everything. I had my Grammy, I had what people dream of for years. I had everything I ever wanted, and they were threatening to take it away.

“So, my mind was like, ‘No I’ll keep going, I’ll keep going.’ And my body was like, ‘Bye.’ And my body had to tell me, instead of me being able to take a break,” Trainor added. “Like, the saddest thing is, like, your whole team is in the hospital with you like, ‘Everything’s gonna be OK.’ And you… cannot speak. So I was alone with my thoughts for way too long and I blew up. I freaked out.”

The Four” judge explained that the combination of undergoing vocal surgery and experiencing other “crazy things” that she went through ultimately forced her to visit a psychologist.

“I met so many doctors and I would just cry to them, and be like, ‘It’s something right here. Can you just fix it for me? Help me out,'” she shared. “And finally I went to a psychologist and I said, ‘My back is burning, like, as if someone’s holding a torch to it. But I’m OK.’ And he was like, ‘OK, so what’s happening is your chemicals are like this and we gotta get them back here.'”

“And he gave me two medicines that I take every single day and it saved me. Saved my life,” she added.

Trainor released her new album, “Treat Myself,” last month after it was pushed back from its original August 2018 launch date and explained the inspiration behind its culmination.

“Trust my gut. Believe in myself. I try to write my songs that are like, treat yourself, remember to love yourself. It’s all to me,” she said. “It’s also all to my fans, but I keep listening to these songs and I keep having to remind myself. Like, baby girl, love yourself.”

When Fox News caught up with the “Lips Are Moving” singer in June 2018, she said that in her experience, being able to sustain a career in music has been much more difficult than breaking onto the scene as a new artist.

“I think it’s easier to break. I mean, they’re both very difficult,” Trainor said, speaking about the challenge of not only becoming a star but staying at the top.

“But for me, it was easier to break through than to sustain it, I’ve noticed. Because breaking through, I felt like I wasn’t working and they were just telling me, you have a number one! And, I was like on what, what do you mean? And nowadays, I’m like where are we?” she said with a laugh.

When Joe Biden exaggerated his academic record during angry rant in New Hampshire

Former Vice President Joe Biden was in Nashua, N.H., on Tuesday, declaring that he’s “looking forward to making my case across the state.”  But it was here that then-Sen. Joe Biden got in a heated confrontation with a voter that derailed his first run for president in 1987.

In Fox Nation’s new docuseries “Proving Grounds: New Hampshire,” Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume reviewed the history of the first-in-the-nation primary and the role it has played in picking America’s presidents.

“Despite being one of the smallest states in the country, New Hampshire has a gigantic impact on U.S. politics as the first primary in the nation,” said Hume in the Fox Nation show. “It can make or break a presidential candidate.”

That “break” moment came from Biden after C-SPAN aired a video showing Biden campaigning in Claremont, N.H., on April 3, 1987.

A New Hampshire voter named Frank Fahey asked Biden, “What law school did you attend and where did you place in that class?”

“Who cares?” blurted out someone in the crowd, and Biden appeared to lose his temper.

“I think I probably have a much higher IQ than you do, I suspect,” said Biden, pointing at the man. “I went to law school on a full academic scholarship.”

“I was the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship. … The first year in law school I decided I didn’t want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class and then decided I wanted to stay and went back to law school and in fact ended up in the top half of my class,” he continued.

“I was the outstanding student in the political science department at the end of my year. I graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school and 165 credits, you only needed 125 credits. And I’d be delighted to sit down and compare my IQ to yours, if you’d like, Frank.”

Several months later Biden released his academic records revealing that many of the credentials that he cited in the ranted in Claremont were not true.

In fact, Biden attended Syracuse law school on a half-scholarship and graduated near the bottom on his class.  Despite claiming that he improved his academic performance over time, the records did not indicate that he did.  And finally, he graduated with a dual major in history and political science — not “three degrees” as he stated.

WATCH: PLAGIARIZED IOWA SPEECH THAT SANK BIDEN’S 1988 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

By that time, Biden’s campaign was already weathering several scandals. It had already been revealed that Biden plagiarized the speech of British Labor Party leader in remarks that he delivered during a debate at the Iowa State Fair in August 1987. At the same time, Biden was accused of plagiarizing the remarks of Hubert Humphrey, Robert F. Kennedy and John F. Kennedy.

On top of all this, Biden acknowledged that he had plagiarized a paper in the first year of law school. The Washington Post ran the headline, “Biden Admits Plagiarizing in Law School,” and six days later he announced that he was dropping out of the race.

A Canadian artist’s depiction of Mr. Peanut “devouring” his son has gone viral, just days after the famous Planters mascot was resurrected from the dead as Baby Nut.

The artist, Nina Matsumoto, posted the provocative artwork on Twitter early Monday. The drawing terrifyingly depicts Mr. Peanut eating his little one, with peanut butter oozing out of its head.

The artwork is a nod to the famous Francisco Goya painting titled “Saturn Devouring His Son.”

Matsumoto’s painting quickly went viral online, garnering over 16,000 retweets and 66,500 likes as of Wednesday afternoon.

“I quietly posted this at 2 in the morning yet look what happened,” Matsumoto tweeted the next day after the drawing gained popularity online.

“Goya would be so flattered!” one Twitter user commented.

“This is the best thing to come out of the whole Baby Nut fiasco lol” another person tweeted.

“The only Baby Nut news that matters. What a classic,” someone else tweeted.

Other Twitter users inquired on how they could purchase a print of the artistic interpretation.

“My friend is really interested in having this art in their house. I was wondering if it will be available as a print, either on paper or canvas?” a Twitter user inquired.

It’s likely what the Internet will be talking about Mr. Peanut in the days come.

Just 10 days after Planters announced the sudden death of their 104-year-old mascot Mr. Peanut, the brand resurrected its dapper ambassador in the form of “Baby Nut,” reincarnated in infancy, with a gimmick that has social media commenters thoroughly divided.

During Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, Planters’ broadcast a 30-second spoof of the elder Mr. Peanut’s funeral, which included Mr. Clean and the Kool-Aid Man paying their respects. As the service proceeded, the teary Kool-Aid Man cried onto the grave’s mound of dirt as the clouds parted and a sprout magically grew from the earth.

Then, a baby-sized Mr. Peanut lookalike emerged from the plant’s leaves, complete with the famous mascot’s signature top hat and smile.

“What is that, a baby nut?” a stunned attendee wondered.

The Baby Nut cooed and made dolphin noises, revealing that all was well in the legume kingdom, after all.

“Just kidding, I’m back,” the nut announced. “Where’s my monocle?”

“Hello world, I’m happy to be back! I can’t believe everyone came together for little old me!” reps for the newborn peanut later tweeted, adding the hashtag #BabyNut.

California man who killed son for insurance is convicted of killing wife in 1991 for insurance

A man in prison for killing his son for insurance money has been convicted in California for killing his wife years earlier — and for the same reason.

The guilty verdict was returned Monday in the case of Karl Karlsen, 60, according to reports.

He was charged with setting a fire that killed his wife Christina Karlsen in 1991 in Murphys so that he could collect on a $200,000 life insurance policy he took out 19 days before her death, the Sonora Union-Democrat reported.

She died trapped in a bathroom with a boarded-up window, Mymotherlode.com, a news outlet, reported.

In 2013, Karl Karlsen pleaded guilty in New York to murdering his 23-year-old son for $700,000 in insurance.

Levi Karlsen died in 2008 in upstate New York. He was crushed under a truck that fell off a jack, according to reports. Prosecutors said Karl Karlsen staged the scene to look like an accident.

Karl Karlsen agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a prison sentence of 15 years to life, which he is currently serving.

In court Monday, Karl Karlsen exhibited no emotion as the verdict was read after a month-long trial that featured testimony from 35 prosecution witnesses, including members of his family and his wife’s family, the Union-Democrat reported.

“Three years is a long time to stand firm,” Christina Karlsen’s mother Arlen Melzer said afterward, according to the paper.

Karl Karlsen is scheduled to be sentenced in March and faces life without parole.

Defense attorney Richard Esquivel said his client would appeal the conviction.

Christina Karlsen’s death was reopened after Karl Karlsen went to prison for their son’s death.

He had also taken out insurance on his second wife, a revelation that led her to cooperate with prosecutors, The Associated Press had reported in 2013.

“I would be worth $1.2 million dead to Karl,” Cindy Karlsen testified in court.

George Washington elected 1st president: This Day in History

On this day in history, in 1789, George Washington was elected the first President of the United States.

Washington, then 56 years old, was unanimously elected by all 69 electoral votes, a distinction never achieved by any subsequent presidents.

Presidential electors were chosen from each state between Dec. 15, 1788, and Jan. 10, 1789. Only 10 states cast electoral votes, with New York having failed to put forth electors, and North Carolina and Rhode Island having not yet ratified the Constitution.

As a national hero, Washington was everyone’s first choice. He’d served as the commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and was president of the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.

Per Article II of the Constitution, electors in the Electoral College have two votes and candidates who receive the majority are elected president. Candidates in second place are elected vice president. John Adams, who had served as the first U.S. ambassador to Great Britain, became the first vice president of the United States.

Hall of Fame voter opposing Derek Jeter keeps ballot private

The lone baseball writer who snubbed Derek Jeter for the Hall of Fame and ignited a firestorm of criticism for not voting for the New York Yankees captain has opted to keep their ballot private.

Jeter was elected to be enshrined in Cooperstown on 396 of the 397 ballots issued in the voting process. Jeter and Colorado Rockies slugger Larry Walker were both elected last month.

Walker was in his final year of eligibility. They will be inducted on July 26, along with catcher Ted Simmons and former players’ association head Marvin Miller, who were voted in last month by the Hall’s Modern Era Committee.

Mariano Rivera, Jeter’s teammate for five World Series titles, became the first unanimous pick for the Hall last year when he appeared on all 425 ballots.

In 2011, the BWAA decided to make the ballots public but were overruled by the Hall’s board of directors, which gave each voter the option to make their ballot public.

California surgeon who appeared on Bravo may see rape case dismissed

Prosecutors said Tuesday they will seek to drop charges in a high-profile rape case against a California reality TV show surgeon and his girlfriend.

Grant Robicheaux, 39, and his girlfriend, Cerissa Riley, 32, both of Newport Beach, Calif., were charged with drugging and raping at least seven alleged victims.

“There’s insufficient evidence to prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer told a news conference.

“This office will go to court as soon as possible and seek a dismissal on all the charges against the defendants,” he said.

Robicheaux and Riley in 2018 had been detained on a $1 million bail as they faced charges of kidnapping and rape by use of drugs, among other crimes. Robicheaux, an orthopedic surgeon who once appeared on reality Bravo TV show “Online Dating Rituals of the American Male,” faced up to 82 years in prison to life if convicted and Riley faced up to 63 years.

MORE THAN A DOZEN VICTIMS ACCUSE CALIFORNIA SURGEON, GIRLFRIEND OF RAPE; CALLED ‘BONNIE AND CLYDE’ TEAM

At the time, authorities said the pair slipped drugs to the victims while partying with them then sexually assaulted them while they were incapable of resisting.

Grant William Robicheaux, 38, and Cerissa Laura Riley, 31, were charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting two women by use of drugs, officials say. (2018) (Orange County District Attorney’s Office)

One woman reportedly described Robicheaux and Riley as a “Bonnie and Clyde” team that drugged her and engaged in sex acts without her consent. The woman told police the surgeon gave her two pills that made her feel “lethargic.” Robicheaux then had unprotected sex with the woman while his girlfriend — who also performed oral sex on the woman — recorded the ordeal on her phone.

Authorities suggested there could be “thousands of victims” of the couple. “I have not seen a case in my career that involved this many videos and sexual acts and possible crimes,” then-District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said in September 2018.

Authorities believed Robicheaux and Riley used their looks to prey on the alleged victims. “We believe the defendants used their good looks and charms to lower the inhibitions of their potential prey,” Rackauckas said. “We’ve all heard of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Well, a wolf can wear scrubs or doctor’s clothing. Or a wolf can be a beautiful woman.”

“There are thousands and thousands of videos and images. … There are several videos where women in the videos appear to be highly intoxicated, beyond the ability to consent or resist. They are barely responsive to the defendants’ sexual advances,” he added. “Based on this evidence, we believe there might be many unidentified victims out there.”

NEW ACCUSERS EMERGE IN CASE OF CALIFORNIA SURGEON, GIRLFRIEND ACCUSED OF DRUGGING, SEXUALLY ASSAULTING WOMEN

Defense lawyers said no such videos existed. Spitzer, the current DA, confirmed this.

“There is not a single piece of evidence or video or photo that shows an unconscious or incapacitated woman being sexually assaulted. Not one,” Spitzer said.

“No one felt any of the charged victims, the seven, could be proven,” Spitzer said.

The district attorney said he will meet with the victims to explain why the review did not sustain a burden of proof.

California deputy lucky to be alive after bodycam blocks bullet during ‘ambush’ attack, investigators say

A northern California sheriff’s deputy was “lucky” to survive a gunshot to the chest after his body camera helped to block the bullet an unknown suspect fired during an “ambush” attack near a reservoir Friday night, investigators said.

Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputy Sukhdeep Gill was on a routine patrol along a rural mountain road in the foothills of unincorporated Morgan Hill, Calif., near the Uvas Reservoir, when he got out of his patrol vehicle, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

An unknown vehicle approached Gill and suddenly switched off its headlights. At least four gunshots were fired, with one bullet striking the deputy in the chest, FOX KTVU reported. The deputy returned fire, but it was not known whether the suspect was hit.

The sheriff’s office released Gill’s frantic call to dispatchers in which he can be heard shouting “shots fired,” the San Jose Mercury News reported. After two minutes of radio silence, Gill told dispatchers, “I think I was hit.”

The deputy was treated at a hospital and subsequently released without any serious injuries, officials said.

Investigators described the shooting during a news conference Monday as an “unprovoked attack” that  Gill “was very lucky” to survive, according to local news outlets.

“It was an ambush,” Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith said. “Anyone of those rounds could have hit him anywhere. He was very brave under fire.”

Gill survived thanks in part to the bullet hitting his body camera, which was backed up by his standard-issue protective body armor, according to Lt. Brenden Omori, head of the department’s Major Crimes Unit.

“We do know the bullet was stopped by a combination of the bodycam and the body armor,” he said.

The shooting is being looked at as both a potential hate crime and a premeditated attack on a law enforcement officer. Gill, who is a practicing Sikh, wears a turban that is clearly visible, officials said.

Jessica Simpson describes heart-breaking ‘mom jeans’ backlash: ‘I was taken down by the world’

Jessica Simpson revisited a negative moment in her career that she says broke her heart and contributed to an increase in her drinking at the time.

The 39-year-old singer spoke with Hoda Kotb on the “Today” show Tuesday about the humiliation she felt following intense social media backlash after her wardrobe choice at a 2009 event went viral. At the time, the star was ridiculed for wearing high-waisted jeans.

“This picture that circulated and went worldwide broke my heart,” she said. “Not the picture necessarily, the captions. All the captions and it was just, like… viral.”

Simpson wore the infamous “mom jeans” while performing at a chili cook-off in South Carolina. She explained that she felt very confident on stage, but immediately felt insecure about her body after the images went viral.

“I think that that comes from other relationships. Tony never made me feel that way. I always felt confident when I was with Tony,” she said. “I was taken down by the world.”

She admitted to the host that the negative attention she received over what she thought was an innocuous outfit contributed to her increased alcohol consumption at the time, a topic she discusses in more detail in her book as well. The book also reveals allegations of past sexual abuse, drug use and more.

“I’ll be honest, I obviously haven’t read the book, so I don’t know what she said or what she revealed there,” Lachey said, according to Entertainment Tonight. “But certainly happy for her in her life and I know she is happy for us. There is definitely a mutual respect there.”
