Gal Gadot to Produce and Star in Movie About Christian Woman Who Saved Thousands of Jewish Children from Nazis

Continuing to prove to be one of the most stand-up women in Hollywood, Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot has started up her own production company with her husband and decided their first film will be about a Christian woman who saved thousands of Jewish children from the Nazis.

According to Deadline, Gadot will produce and act the lead in a true story film about Irena Sendler and her efforts to defy the Nazis by saving the lives of others:

Irena Sendler tells the harrowing story of a woman’s defiant stand against Nazi Germany’s occupation of Poland and the incredible network she developed to care for and save 2500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto. Following her arrest by the Gestapo during the height of the war, the drama becomes a race against time to save not only herself but the identities of the hidden thousands who’ll face certain execution. Justine Juel Gillmer will be writing the screenplay. She just wrote another harrowing Holocaust film, Harry Haft. Gillmer has worked in film and television in her native Australia, and has worked on numerous shows in the U.S. including The 100, Into the Badlands, and is now serving as a writer/co-EP on Amazon’s Wheel of Time.

According to Gadot and her husband, their new production company, Pilot Wave, will focus on inspiring stories just like Sendler’s.

“As producers, we want to help bring stories that have inspired us to life,” Gadot and Varsano said. “Pilot Wave will create content that promotes the perspectives and experiences of unique people and produce impactful stories aimed at igniting the imagination.”

Hearing stories like this one would be a breath of fresh air, especially in an age where Hollywood has nothing good to say about Christians or Christianity. It’s likely that Gadot will face more controversy for taking on such a project, but she faces controversy no matter what she undertakes. Many of the hard left already despise her for being a beautiful, pro-Israeli, former soldier.

My hope is that the controversy doesn’t cause her or her production company to pull back on story elements that may give rise to controversy, such as the Christian element to the story.

I have faith in Gadot, however.

Now you have a reason to watch the “Jeff Zucker Presents: A Totally Unbiased Election Debate By CNN” because of CNN’s need for ad revenue. A group that is doing an ad the blows up the dream of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, the New Green Deal, will air tonight.

You know this will make all the Democrats watching so happy.

According to Fox News

A new ad highlighting the “Green New Deal’s” (GND) financial toll will debut as Democrats take the debate stage on Tuesday night.

The ad, created by the right-leaning Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), will portray for voters a stark contrast between life under “common sense energy policies” and an economy “strangled” by the GND.

Tuesday’s ads will run before, during, and after the Democratic debate on CNN, but it’s just the start of a month-long campaign that will escalate with more than $250,000 in ad spending.

As I wrote earlier this week here at Red State about climate change or warming or cooling, these people supporting this nonsense have been acting weird and saying this stuff for years.

Climate Protester Climbs On Top Of An Airplane And Does Not Help The Cause.

CLIMATE FLASHBACK: In 1978 Mr. Spock Told Us Another Ice Age Would Be Here By Now.

I’m glad a group is taking the time and investing some coin to do an ad during a debate where all the candidates up on stage tonight will probably trip all over themselves to say the wackiest thing about climate change. I honestly am waiting for one of them to propose plugging up volcanoes and saying they support a Federal program to do so. #VolcanoesKill

I hope that Competitive Enterprise Institute will help organize and rally people to their cause in other ways. Possibly joining with other groups to start to roll back some of the nonsense that A.O.C and her happy band of Green new Deal bots are screaming about. They have been effective for 40 years and the time to push back is now.

In the meantime enjoy tonight’s debate (Really, I’m SERIOUS) and let me know what you think fo the ad at the info below.

Leftists Upset About Video of Trump Killing His Opposition Sure Seem Okay With Violence Against Him and His Supporters

Westlake Legal Group Capture-6 Leftists Upset About Video of Trump Killing His Opposition Sure Seem Okay With Violence Against Him and His Supporters Violence the hunt Snoop Dogg Politics meme Media kathy griffin Hollywood Front Page Stories Entertainment donald trump democrats antifa Allow Media Exception

By now, you’ve likely heard of the video that surfaced showing the scene from the movie Kingsman, where one of the main characters goes on a violent killing spree within a hate church thanks to a signal that alters brain patterns and forces people to become violent.

My colleague, Brad Slager, covers it in-depth in his article here.

The video, which has been up on YouTube for over a year, has President Donald Trump’s head superimposed on the head of the main character, and much of the people he kills during the scene to have their heads replaced with people and logos of those on the left.

You can watch it for yourself here.

The video was allegedly played at one of Trump’s Miami resorts for his supporters during a conference. Naturally, the media has lost its mind over it and has given it unmitigated attention.

Let’s get some things out of the way before I continue.

Firstly, this is clearly a meme representative of Trump fighting off his opposition, which is both numerous and vicious. It’s not going to incite violence as some on the left are claiming, it’s clearly figurative as most memes are. No one in their right mind is advocating that Trump’s opponents be brutally murdered.

Should it have been played at a pro-Trump conference? Probably not. It does feature Hillary Clinton getting run through the neck with a disassembled gun, and CNN having a wooden stake shoved into its mouth. It’s not the best way to go about a political rally. It works as a meme, but probably not as something promoted officially.

The thing is, it’s hard to take any outrage from the media seriously, seeing as how violence against Trump and his supporters is a pretty regular occurrence, and in a very official capacity no less.

Let’s take Kathy Griffin’s severed Trump head, for instance. Or the Broadway play that depicted Trump’s assassination. Or Snoop Dogg’s music video where he points a gun at Trump’s head. You can see them pictured in the tweet below in case your memory needs jogging.

The media’s certainly does.

But most of all, let’s also not forget that Universal created and was set to release a movie titled “The Hunt” before the release was canceled due to the studio believing it was “bad timing” thanks to the El Paso shooting and backlash by Americans. You may say that Universal shut the movie down because they knew it was wrong, but that’s not the case.

They signed off on the movie, spent millions of dollars making it, and had a quickly approaching release date. They only canceled it because they were afraid that the timing would make them look bad.

In short, a major motion picture studio is actually okay with violence against its, vision of what Trump supporters are being depicted, and the only coverage is got was news about its progress and hindrance, and the typical “Republicans react” style of news reporting.

What’s more, the producer of The Hunt, Jason Blum, said in an interview that if he could relive a single day over and over again, he’d “take out the current administration.” The look on his face was very serious, and even writer Christopher Landon seemed momentarily taken aback by it.

You probably didn’t hear a thing about this, though, because the left doesn’t seem to care about violent rhetoric like this if it’s geared toward Trump or his followers.

Please, spare me the outrage about this meme video. It rings so hollowly in the face of the violence that I see promoted from the left. Especially when I even carried out against Americans.

Planned Parenthood has Become Embedded in Hollywood to Promote Onscreen Abortions

While claiming to downplay the importance of terminations, PPFA has become an entrenched fixture in entertainment.

There has always been a bond between Hollywood and Planned Parenthood. Abortion is something of a sacrosanct act with the celebrity set out there and there has been no shortage of vocal voices in support of the nation’s biggest abortion server. But now we learn that the alliance has developed into more of a professional partnership.

Meet Caren Spruch, who is an outreach liaison for Planned Parenthood working in conjunction with studios and content creators inside the entertainment industry. Caren’s official title is “Director of Arts and Entertainment Engagement”, which is a high-minded way of describing what is her actual position — Hollywood’s abortion lobbyist.

Spruch began her endeavor years ago with the intention of seeing to it that abortions are not only featured with more regularity but also portrayed in a positive light on screen. During her brief tenure Spruch has encouraged more productions to take on storylines in which characters opt for the choice to terminate their pregnancy, as well as to not have it portrayed as a detrimental process for them to go through.

By her own estimate in the five years since she has taken on this role Spruch says she has ushered through up to 150 instances of abortions shown on screen.

Hollywood has embraced her. When she initially began Spruch was in something of a door-knocking position, seeking out potential properties that could incorporate her desired activity and trying to convince others to include it. She would circulate in places like the Sundance Film Festival to begin developing alliances with actors and others in the industry.

Now she has grown in stature to the degree that she is the one sought out. Not only do writers and producers contact Spruch about details in a plot, for instance, but she is now actively working on screenplays, and serving as a script doctor for abortion-heady scenes. Says one writer-producer in an excitable fashion, “She’s like Planned Parenthood’s secret weapon!”

This of course flies in the face of the tired spin often heard from pro-aborts in the debate. It used to be that they tried to downplay the zeal behind their cause, saying things like no one is happy about getting the procedure, and how it is needed service for some. Nobody celebrates getting their abortion, has been the claim.

But nowadays the organization is looking to the glamour of Hollywood to elevate the status. One other program Spruch worked with is “Shrill”. That 30-minute comedy is written by Lindy West, and an abortion was a central aspect of the pilot episode, which launched the character into a new and improved version of her life. West is also the creator of the activist outfit “Shout Your Abortion”. This is all a decided turn in the language used by pro-abortion members, and there is a reason for this.

Despite all the talk of a Democratic Blue Wave last November there has been a noticeable turn politically in the abortion debate. Recently six states have undertaken tougher abortion legislation, and up to thirty have bills offered or have otherwise explored similar laws. Despite the Democrats taking control of the House what has been quietly overlooked is that during the Obama administration on the state and local levels the GOP experienced significant gains. The electorate has become decidedly conservative, and there is a push for these bills.

The tired argument of “old white males” forcing these laws falls apart under scrutiny. Most of the bills have been written or co-written by female politicians. In fact, in Louisiana its new 6-week abortion law was crafted by a black female in the state house, and signed into law by a Democrat governor.

So there is a need for Planned Parenthood to combat this groundswell of opposition to its pet service. Look at how they may try to claim that abortions amount to only 3% of the services the organization provides, but its actions defy that dismissive statistic. Tens of millions of dollars are poured into political donations to entirely pro-abortion Democrat politicians. Just last week PPFA announced it was sinking $45 million into anti-Trump efforts and its desire to see the Senate flipped to Democrats.

This expenditure, and the growing pressure to have Hollywood glamourize abortion defies logic in claiming it is such a minuscule component of its operations. Clearly Planned Parenthood feels this is an important enough procedure that it has embedded an activist into the studio system, with the hopes of altering the culture to a more approving stance.

Normalizing a procedure that polls continuously show is opposed by the public, and at a time when record lows are recorded of abortions being performed, is the needed effort to remain relevant. Just do not believe them any longer when they try to sell the idea of no one actively celebrating abortion – not when celebrities are marshaled to tout the procedure.

Hollywood union members pass resolution aimed at President Trump

Westlake Legal Group 5b9e5dc0-35ab-45eb-83ac-958cd86d093f Hollywood union members pass resolution aimed at President Trump unions The Blog SAG-AFTRA resolutions President Trump Hollywood Freedom of the Press

Our brave, brave betters in Hollywood unanimously passed a resolution against President Trump on Friday but their courage stopped just short of actually naming the president. How does one fight an enemy if that enemy isn’t named?

SAG-AFTRA’s biennial convention was attended by 400 delegates and the resolution was passed unanimously. It calls for a “free and unencumbered press”, which is hardly bold and controversial language except in the minds of anti-Trump attendees, apparently. The resolution made headlines in the industry’s publications. The press is protected in the First Amendment, after all. One phrase was included, though, just in case there is any nuance in the wording of the resolution. (There isn’t.) “Enemy of the people” was specifically included.

“We are living in an extraordinary time when the news media has been attacked as spreading false stories and as an enemy of the people,” the resolution read. “SAG-AFTRA has on at least two occasions since the last national convention, issued strong statements on behalf of a free and unencumbered press.

“SAG-AFTRA believes that the entities that employ journalists must do everything they can to ensure their freedom, protection and safety,” it added. “As a proud labor union representing more than 160,000 broadcasters, actors and entertainers, the union stands with all of its members in ensuring that the basic rights of an unrestricted and independent press continue to be defended.”

No American would argue against a resolution that supports the freedom of the press. What many Americans don’t support, though, is the way in which much of the news is delivered in the Trump era. Lots of journalists and reporters seem to have forgotten how to report the facts without editorializing. There is, indeed, a lot of fake news out there, no matter who is making the accusation. Trump, as is his way, points his finger at members of the press or television news networks, or anyone else who has irritated him and calls them out. It isn’t new for a president to have a contentious relationship with the press. What is new is a president who punches back every day.

There is irony in this resolution, too. “The four-day event is closed to members of the press, except for SAG-AFTRA delegates who are also broadcasters.” Oh. Not very transparent, are they?

President Trump himself is a member of the union. He even participates in the union’s pension fund like the rest of the members. For example, in 2015 he included a SAG pension fund in financial disclosures.

In 2015, one of Trump’s financial-disclosure forms revealed that he had $110,228 in a SAG pension fund. That sum, which seems surprisingly high, comes mostly courtesy of his hosting gigs on The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice. Trump has also made several cameo appearances in movies like Home Alone 2 and TV shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The leftists in Hollywood included Trump as one of their own until he ran for president as a Republican, then all bets were off. Funny how that happens. It must be a constant thorn in their side that he is a fellow union member.

This resolution wasn’t the union’s first aimed at Trump.

In October, 2017, SAG-AFTRA issued a strong statement in support of a “free and unencumbered press” after Trump threatened to strip networks of their broadcast licenses. That resolution also did not name Trump.

Other resolutions were on the agenda but none of those made headlines.

Other resolutions include expanding protections for LGBTQ performers and sexual harassment and assault survivors; banning casting directors from serving as members of the union’s board of directors; establishing a code of conduct and disciplinary measures for members who carry out acts of misconduct against other members, staff and management, and purchasing a building to serve as the union’s national headquarters instead of leasing. There’s even a resolution calling on the national board to create a committee to craft a detailed proposal for eliminating the convention itself.

Reboots are popular these days in the entertainment world. Looks like the union is just rebooting the standard Orange Man bad rhetoric we hear every day. Freedom of the press in America is alive and well.

LIVE LONG AND FREEZE

I love Star Trek. The whole notion that we survive the mess we see the world in now and actually get to go for drinks on the moon and take a quick spin around Jupiter for fun is just a warm and fuzzy concept.

The show became part of our cultural DNA and the stars of the show went out to successful careers in other areas. Leonard Nimoy A.K.A. Mr. Spock was one of these Trek stars that found other things to do while not on the bridge of the Enterprise.

Nimoy hosted a fantastic show called “In Search Of…from 1978 until 1982 and it covered a wide range of topics that were explored. Material such as, is there a bigfoot, UFO’s and the lost city of Atlantis were some of its episodes.

They also in May of 1978 covered something according to their IMDb page called “In Search Of… The Coming Ice Age”. Of course, with all the interest of climate change and the 1.5-degree shift of getting warmer and all of us dying in less than 12 years ( Not my words ask A.O.C.  Ocasio-Cortez says the world will end in 12 years. She is absolutely right.) I was absolutely intrigued.

Below is a video clip from that show.

Below I have taken some short clips that Nimoy says here to add my stellar commentary.

The data shows that the average temperatures in the Arctic have fallen dramatically over the last 30 years. In most locations, the drop has been 2 degrees centigrade.

According to NOAA we are up almost 1.42 F since 2000. I’m gonna call this a draw.

The whole Northern hemisphere has grown steadily cooler.

Check the NOAA link above. I guess we are getting warmer. Which is really nice for Michigan in Feb.

If we are unprepared for the next advance ( Ice Age) the result could be hunger and death on a scale unprecedented in all of history.

Whether it is massive ice sheets rolling our way or Florida flooding out, it’s always doom and gloom with these people. How about the world comes together like in the movie Independence Day and either does a huge BBQ or use the ice for drinks. CMON PEOPLE.

What scientists are telling us now is the threat of an ice age is not as remote as they once thought.

Well, scientists are telling us something different now. Now I’m not gonna blame them here. They get stuff wrong like this all the time.

During the lifetime of our grandchildren, arctic cold and perpetual snow could turn most of the inhabitable portions of our planet into a polar desert.

Nimoy has 5 grandchildren and from what the scientists are telling us is that we will be all fried before frozen. I’m not sure which one is worse actually.

What does this all mean?

That 41 years ago a show on network television with a beloved actor who played a character that relied on “logic,” scared the crap out of a 9-year-old Duke, making me think the ice was going to kill my family and I.

They were not just wrong but fabulously wrong.

Now those that believe the current dire warnings will say the technology is better, the computer models are more accurate and we have learned so much since 1978.

Well, how about if we do this as a test. Get the current weather reports you do EXACTLY RIGHT for 30 days, then we can chat about making predictions 40 years or 12 years maybe even just 30 months into the future.

Back in 1978, the climate alarmists used an actor who played a Vulcan ( who is not supposed to lie) as a messenger to get people ginned up about impending doom. In 2019 they used a 16-year Lil kid to do the same thing. They were wrong in 1978 and I’m willing to bet Al Gores billions that he made on this fantasy that they are wrong now also.

Predicting the weather, stocks or what women are thinking when they are really mad is a dangerous proposition. Doing any one of these things is just…

Illogical.

P.S. Kirk is the best Captain E-V-E-R.

Biden to Hollywood donors: Guiliani is a “thug”, “I know him”

Westlake Legal Group Joe-Biden Biden to Hollywood donors: Guiliani is a “thug”, “I know him” The Blog President Trump los angeles Joe Biden Hollywood Fundraising 2020 Democrat candidates

Hollywood donors are getting antsy about Joe Biden’s ability to fight off President Trump’s jabs. The people who comprise the Hollywood ATM for Democrat candidates want Biden to get aggressive and hit back.

Maybe Biden thought it would show the Hollywood bigwigs that he’s a tough guy and can take the heat from Trump if he broadened his criticisms and included Rudy Guiliani. He told supporters at a fundraiser that Rudy’s “a thug”.

“The guy’s a thug, Giuliani. No, he’s a thug. I know him,” Biden told about 100 people gathered at the Brentwood home of Paramount’s Jim Gianopulos and his wife, Ann.

According to a pool report, Biden continued, “And the president is the most dishonorable president in American history. And folks, he picked the wrong guy to pick a fight with, because I’ll tell you what. I’m going to beat him like a drum.”

Biden did some fundraising in Los Angeles Thursday after delivering an attack against Trump Wednesday in New Hampshire. It was the first time good old Joe spoke out forcefully in response to Trump’s remarks about Biden and his son, Hunter The Biden donors would like more, please.

“This isn’t make-or-break time for the Vice President, but it is time to start hitting Trump harder,” said one top industry donor of Biden’s responses to him, his family and his campaign. “Calling for impeachment was one thing, but Biden needs to stop coasting and get out in front of this,” the A-lister added.

Hollywood executives held two fundraisers Thursday – one in the afternoon and one in the evening – and they are looking for more than Biden repeating over and over again that he will “beat Trump like a drum”. Polls show Elizabeth Warren rising and she’s overtaken his lead in both Iowa and New Hampshire, at least today as I write this, according to RCP. The two are bouncing back and forth, though Biden has managed to keep his support relatively steady even without maintaining an aggressive campaign schedule.

Biden has essentially been phoning it in and looking as though he is feeling as entitled as Hillary Clinton was in 2016. His campaign has been caught flat-footed in defense against the charges of Biden family corruption in Ukraine and China, too. It is puzzling why Team Biden wasn’t prepared and ready to respond when all of this first began. Coming out Wednesday as he did with a bunch of name-calling and macho talk of beating Trump like a drum wasn’t very convincing. Donors are wondering if Biden’s up to the task of a tough general election campaign.

That doesn’t mean that they think Biden should do a 60 Minutes-style sitdown to go point-by-point through the Ukraine-Hunter Biden connection, as some believe that would be giving implicit credibility to Trump’s attacks. However, there is a sense that Biden has a unique opportunity to break through, particularly at a time when the Massachusetts senator is drawing so much attention for her rise in the polls and fundraising.

Biden still has strong support in Los Angeles but some are starting to speak up. Elizabeth Warren is an alternative but not necessarily the top choice if Biden fades. Show biz is a business, after all, and most of the show business execs are not quite ready for socialism.

Meanwhile, Warren, who has shunned the type of tony, high-dollar fundraising events that are a staple of Hollywood’s political scene, has a number of fans in showbiz. “There’s definitely an uptick in interest,” Bojarsky said, adding that “people have started to talking about how she can broaden her appeal.”

Right now, a number of Biden’s industry supporters still feel Sen. Warren will prove too far to the left to win a general election, even as she leads the ex-VP among Dems in some polls. And even in an industry that leans heavily to the left in theory, attacks on the rich have their limits for some upper crust donors, what with Warren’s proposal for a wealth tax and vows to overhaul other aspects of American capitalism.

Biden will have to up his game if he wants to hold on to the money in Los Angeles. The question remains, is he up to the task? Time will tell if he’s “going anywhere” or not.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., talks to reporters about the release by the White House of a transcript of a call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskiy, at the Capitol in Washington, Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

During a recent Congressional hearing on the Trump/Zelensky whistleblower complaint, House Intel Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) despicably engaged in a parody reading of the call’s transcript, just outright making up things about the call that weren’t said.

Republicans were rightly outraged over the theatrical stunt for two reasons: 1) It made a mockery of the seriousness of the hearings and 2) The words weren’t Trump’s. At all.

As even Democrat journalist George Stephanopoulos noted when correcting House Speaker Pelosi’s comments on the issue last week, Schiff’s accounting of the call was his interpretation of it, not what was actually said.

While Schiff’s penchant for fabricating stories about the Trump administration and other Republicans is not exactly a new development, a little known fact about him reported by NPR this week explains quite a bit about his drama queen tendencies:

He’s an amateur screenwriter

Schiff was born in Massachusetts but represents Hollywood, so why not, right? His first screenplay was called, Remnant, which Schiff told The New Yorker “was a post-Holocaust story.” He then wrote a murder-mystery called Minotaur, and is now working on a “spy drama.”

None of his screenplays have sold.

“I had a friend who was a producer,” Schiff told The New Yorker, “and he said there were two answers in Hollywood — ‘Yes’ and ‘Here’s a check.’ I was getting lots of yeses.”

After NPR posted a tweet with a link to their piece on Schiff and noted he was an “amateur screenwriter”, Twitter users understandably had some thoughts:

It all makes so much more sense now. Doesn’t make what he’s doing in Congress right, though. But it does help explain quite a bit.

The weekend success of the Todd Phillips movie Joker has Warner Bros. and Hollywood thinking that more movies based on villains could be the way to go. In fact, it might just be the thing that saves Warner Bros. and DC’s otherwise disastrous run on comic book movies.

Other than the success of Wonder Woman and (to a much lesser extent) Aquaman, DC’s comic book movie universe just hasn’t been stellar. Joker proved that there is still cinematic interest in their properties, but a shared universe in the style of Marvel’s might not be the path for them.

Along with Phillips’ own talk of a possible sequel to the story of Arthur Fleck and his transformation into The Joker, a report popped up on Wednesday suggesting that a movie about another Batman villain, Two-Face, is being considered.

Two-Face has been on the big screen twice already – once by Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever and once by Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight – so it wouldn’t be an entirely new premise to see him in a movie. However, Two-Face and Batman are so woven together that any movie centered on him as the main character wouldn’t be as Batman-free as Joker was (and even then, a not-so-small part of Joker very much had to involve Batman in the form of young Bruce Wayne).

It would be possible, mind you, but you’d need to invent a reason for Batman to not be there, and you’d also have to make sure you’re not writing another Catwoman – arguably the worst comic book movie of all time.

What is interesting about all this, however, is that many of the villains in DC – especially Batman’s rogue’s gallery – are just as compelling as (if not more than) the heroes. What draws people to The Joker is the fact that he is Chaos personified. It isn’t just the insanity, but how it manifests. It’s a trainwreck we can’t look away from and becomes more horrifying as time goes on.

Two-Face is another example of this. He was a force for good until his face was disfigured and drew out  a split personality. He is constantly at war with himself over right and wrong, and leaves the final decision up to fate – all at the extreme end of choices we have to make every day.

Deadpool, though not quite a villain (yet certainly not a hero), is fascinating because he is a parody of the genre, yet not at the same time. Venom compelled us because we all recognize Spider-Man and see just how quickly those powers can shift from one end of the moral spectrum to the other.

Harley Quinn, featured in Suicide Squad and the upcoming Birds of Prey, is another example of the fascination we have with the dark side. She wasn’t even created in the comics, but was so popular in the ’90s animated Batman series that the comics quickly added her into their stories as well. People were drawn to the former psychiatrist drawn into the insane world of The Joker because we all know what it’s like to be close to the edge, and many of us know what it’s like to be drawn to the wrong crowd.

There is something very human, though admittedly very extreme in their flaws, about these villains, and the way their stories could be told on the big screen could draw us further into identifying with those flaws. It’s not worship of the violence or insanity, as many in the media have tried to explain the success of Joker by claiming, but rather an introspective look at ourselves and seeing ourselves in these flawed individuals and (sometimes) just how close we are to relating to their plight.

I would welcome more villains on-screen getting their stories told… though, given DC’s and the Warner Bros. studio’s records, we’re gonna have to make sure they are written by people who actually know comics.
