Paula White on how she became Trump’s spiritual adviser and why he’ll carry evangelical vote in 2020

President Trump‘s spiritual adviser, Paula White-Cain, told Fox News Thursday that she’s sharing “never-told stories” as his personal pastor in a new book.

The author of “Something Greater: Finding Triumph Over Tragedy” is confident, with a recent Fox News poll showing Trump with 81 percent of support from evangelicals, that he will carry the vote in 2020.

“We look at these baseless claims. First, it was the Russian hoax, now it’s the Ukranian inquiry of impeachment…and it’s not only against the president…but it’s against the vote of the American people in 2016,” White-Cain said on “Fox & Friends.”

President Trump’s personal pastor and spiritual adviser, Paula White, kicked off the president’s reelection campaign rally with a fiery prayer.

The president of Paula White Ministries said many Christian voters wondered if Trump would keep his campaign promises, to which she responded that he has.

White-Cain said Trump has been staunchly pro-life and pro-Isreal, strong on religious liberty and preventing human trafficking. She also said that the average American now [has] $1,400 more in their pocket.

“I could go on and on,” she said.

TRUMP CELEBRATES YOUNG AFRICAN IMMIGRANT’S PRAYER AT WHITE HOUSE: ‘SO AMAZING!’

She promised “a lot of voter registration, organization, and activation.”

On Trump’s tweets and, sometimes vulgar speech, White-Cain said many people disapprove of it, but many voters love the authenticity.

“Number one, he’s a New Yorker, a strong businessman,” she said. “I know him personally, so I know behind what would be seen as the persona and understand the man. I get to see him with his family, with his wife, with his grandchildren, his children. He’s a strong man, no doubt about that, but I also see the compassion, the humanity, the care, the strength in maybe a different way than many other people see it.”

TRUMP’S SPIRITUAL ADVISER, PAULA WHITE, PRAYS TO STOP ‘EVERY DEMONIC NETWORK’ AGAINST HIM

White-Cain said she starts her book, “Something Greater,” by explaining how, after 18 years of knowing Trump, she was connected to him and shares “never-told stories” of pastoring the former New York City real estate mogul.

“He’s watching Christian television and calls me out of the blue,” she said. “I’m joking and I’m like if I’m on ‘The Apprentice’ he’d be like you’re fired.”

Instead, however, Trump’s first words were positive, telling her she had the “it factor,” which she said was like an “anointing.”

White-Cain told “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt she decided to share her “extreme, vulnerable pain” in the book — including her father’s suicide, sexual and physical abuse, an unwanted divorce, and more — to help others find their purpose as she did.

“This was not the script that I would’ve written out…I don’t say I like the broken parts…but how can I show you what God can do in your life,” she said. “Looking back now I can see…that it prepared me for such a time as this.”

The wife of Jonathan Cain, who is on tour with the band Journey right now, further explained, “It prepared me to stand in a position and understand what’s really happening, from both a spiritual perspective and in a natural way, like how the system fights you when you stand for righteousness, how unfair our ‘supposedly’ fair democracy can be.”

‘Bomb Cyclone’ slams Northeast with heavy rain, winds as hundreds of thousands without power

A rapidly intensifying coastal storm known as a “bomb cyclone” has brought torrential rain and gusty winds to the Northeast, causing numerous trees to be downed and leaving hundreds of thousands of residents without power.

The National Weather Services’ Weather Prediction Center said the storm will continue to bring heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and the threat of coastal flooding to parts of New England through Thursday before heading into Canada by Friday. Several inches of rain fell from Washington D.C. through Boston, which has now shifted up from upstate New York through Maine.

“The story that’s going to continue if you live in this region, we are under wind watches, warnings, advisories, from the Mid-Atlantic running all the way up the coast,” Fox News Meteorologist Adam Klotz said on “Fox & Friends.”

“This wind, unfortunately, is going to stick with us the rest of the day,” Klotz said.

Those winds have caused numerous trees to fall throughout the region, closing roads and bringing down power lines. Around 400,000 customers are without power across the Northeast, with the highest number of outages in Maine and Massachusetts, according to PowerOutage.us.

The Duxbury Fire Department in Massachusetts reported that many roads are “completely impassible” due to downed wires and trees.

“Use extreme caution,” officials said.

Numerous schools were closed throughout the Boston area and the MBTA warned that commuter rail riders should expect “severe delays” due to so many downed wires and trees, Boston 25 reported.

The winds were so powerful in the town of Duxbury, Mass. that several dinghies were blown out of the water onto the shoreline.

Game 4 of the AL Championship Series scheduled for Wednesday night was postponed a day because of poor weather, with Game 5 pushed to Friday night at Yankee Stadium and Games 6 and 7 in Houston on Saturday and Sunday, if necessary. The Houston Astros beat New York Yankees 4-1 on Tuesday to take a 2-1 series lead.

The winner will face Washington and its well-rested, talented rotation starting in the AL city on Tuesday night.

The coastal storm impacting the Northeast met the criteria to be known as “bomb cyclone,” which means it rapidly intensified, dropping 24 millibars (or atmospheric pressure) over a 24-hour span, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). A typical range in millibars is around 10 to 15.

Forecasters said once the storm moves out, that temperatures should be “rather cool” for October, with daytime highs as much as 10 to 20 degrees below normal.

‘Fox & Friends’ hosts on Dems walking out of Syria meeting with Trump: ‘Déjà vu all over again’

After a contentious meeting at the White House between the Democratic leadership and the Trump administration, the “Fox & Friends” co-hosts said Thursday it’s “déjà vu all over again.”

“Guess what? Another day. Some more drama,” Brian Kilmeade said.

“It didn’t seem like this meeting lasted long. Next thing, it’s deja vu all over again,” he added, “as both sides give their versions of a breakdown, let’s say, of communication.”

KEVIN MCCARTHY: TOP DEMOCRATS WHO WALKED OUT OF WH MEETING JUST ‘INFATUATED’ WITH IMPEACHMENT

Discussing Turkey’s invasion of Syria and the humanitarian crisis there, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., reportedly told President Trump that Russian President Vladimir Putin always wanted a foothold in the Middle East and that, “All roads with you lead to Putin.”

“And that started it,” Steve Doocy added.

As the Democrats got up to leave the meeting, the president shot back: “We’ll see you at the polls” and then he reportedly said Pelosi was a “third-rate politician.”

Following the meeting, Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., held a news conference in front of the White House hitting back at the president. Pelosi told reporters Trump was having some kind of “meltdown” inside. She said they had to leave because Trump was unable to grasp the reality of the situation.

“And that’s the same reaction … ‘We’re going to do impeachment prayerfully,’ Kilmeade chided. “She always is praying for the president’s health. Their goal is to paint the president not as they had a dispute and disagreement, but that he’s totally unworthy … mentally unhinged.”

He added that Democrats want to paint that picture “because maybe they got a look at the debate stage and thought to themselves, ‘If we just wait for the polls to happen, I don’t think we’re going to be too successful.’ And now, all of a sudden, the Warhawks are sitting outside of the White House!”

Later that evening, the president tweeted in response to the meeting: “I am the only person who can fight for the safety of our troops & bring them home from the ridiculous & costly Endless Wars, and be scorned. Democrats always liked that position, until I took it. Democrats always liked Walls, until I built them. Do you see what’s happening here?”

“These people who didn’t say a word when President Obama pulled everybody out of Iraq. Didn’t say anything when President Obama didn’t enforce the red line. Now all of a sudden, she wants the president to crack down,” Kilmeade told his co-hosts.

Ainsley Earhardt chimed in: “So, if you’re a Democrat you look at it and say, ‘Glad they walked out. They were standing up to a bully” is the narrative that they’re painting. If you’re a Republican…they look at it as another chance for them to come together and they don’t.”

Only in Washington do they take pride in breaking up meetings, not accomplishing anything, and then hoping to score political points,” Kilmeade concluded.

RNC raises record-setting $27.3 million in September, amid impeachment push

EXCLUSIVE: The Republican National Committee raised a record-setting $27.3 million in September and had $59.2 million cash on hand last month amid the impeachment push against President Trump — which has fueled GOP campaign contributions heading into the 2020 election.

The RNC’s September fundraising haul is the best off-cycle month in the history of both the Republican and Democratic parties. This cycle, to date, the RNC has almost tripled the Democratic National Committee’s fundraising efforts, according to the GOP, which also noted that the Democrats, as of last month, carried $7.3 million in debt.

“While Democrats focus on fighting President Trump, Republicans have prioritized voters and we have another record-breaking fundraising month—the highest ever off-cycle—to show for it,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told Fox News. “Voters are tired of Democrats’ petty politics and baseless witch hunts, and their shameful attacks have only energized our grassroots army and allowed us to lay the groundwork for Republicans to take back the House, expand our majority in the Senate and re-elect President Trump in 2020.”

The announcement comes just days after the RNC and the Trump re-election campaign announced a massive third-quarter war chest of $125.7 million.

The party’s momentum also comes as House Democrats lead an intense impeachment inquiry into Trump.

Earlier this month, the RNC launched a “Stop the Madness” national counter-impeachment campaign, targeting those House Democrats and vowing to cause “chaos” in response to the formal impeachment inquiry against the president.

RNC LAUNCHES  ‘STOP THE MADNESS’  CAMPAIGN TO FIGHT IMPEACHMENT PUSH

The party spent $2.3 million to keep the pressure on vulnerable House Democrats, as part of the campaign, $2 million for ads across television and digital, and an additional $350,000 multimedia buy that it announced this week on platforms like YouTube, Hulu, and Facebook.

The multimedia buy this week focuses on peer-to-peer texting and phone calls to more than 30 House Democrat districts, encouraging voters to call their congressman or congresswoman and “stop the madness.” The party also is continuing investment into Facebook petitions, encouraging voters to sign up and “Take a Stand” against impeachment.

“Our goal is to cause chaos,” RNC spokesman Rick Gorka, who is heading up the campaign, told Fox News in an interview earlier this month. “This is a poison pill. When you couple the impeachment process with the socialist policies being espoused by 2020 Democrats, it’s going to sink their chances at the ballot box, especially with those crucial swing voters and independents across the country.”

TRUMP CAMPAIGN, RNC RAISED OVER $125 MILLION IN 3RD QUARTER

The counter-campaign is also leading an on-the-ground effort from grassroots and field teams in critical 2020 states.

Meanwhile, the RNC is expected to continue investing money to grow its ground game to benefit the president’s re-election campaign and Republican candidates nationwide. The party has assigned staff in 19 key target states across the country, with staff, including regional political directors, regional data directors, State directors, and communications directors. In the last month, the party has expanded those efforts to states like Illinois, Colorado, South Dakota, Indiana, Wyoming, and Mississippi.

In those areas, the RNC is expected to recruit and train thousands of volunteers and conduct voter registration drives.

A Scotch Maker’s Challenge: First Brexit. Now Tariffs.

Westlake Legal Group 17whiskytariffs-1-facebookJumbo A Scotch Maker’s Challenge: First Brexit. Now Tariffs. World Trade Organization Trump, Donald J Scotch (Whiskey) Great Britain Withdrawal from EU (Brexit) GLASGOW, Scotland European Union Europe Customs (Tariff) Boeing Company

ISLAY, Scotland — Britain’s departure from the European Union has turned distiller Anthony Wills’s workdays into a marathon of logistics.

For months, he communicated with importers to ensure that his single malt, whisky distilled from barley harvested from his farm on the windswept isle of Islay, could be shipped to the Continent and the United States in time for the holidays.

Then, with the Oct. 31 deadline for Brexit fast approaching, the Trump administration imposed 25 percent tariffs on a menu of goods including French wine, Italian cheese and — in a move that could drive a Scotsman to drink — single malt whisky.

“It’s a blow,” said Mr. Wills, the owner of Kilchoman Distillery, who has built a formidable boutique business in the western Scotland countryside. “It doesn’t matter how you try and alleviate the issue, it’s still a big blow.”

The United States was allowed to apply the tariffs, expected to go into force on Friday, after a World Trade Organization ruling settled a yearslong dispute over subsidies for the aviation company Airbus. They create a double whammy for Scotland.

Whisky underpins the economy of Islay (pronounced EYE-la) and much of Scotland. Kilchoman and eight rival Scotch whisky distilleries have flourished here in the past decade. Tourists from the United States, Europe and Japan come to wonder at Islay’s coastal beauty, take pictures of hillsides filled with sheep and hairy Highland cattle that look as if they’ve had vigorous blow dries, and soak up the pricey local spirits.

Annual exports of Scotch whisky are worth 4.7 billion pounds, or about $5.9 billion, accounting for 70 percent of Scotland’s food and drink exports and 21 percent of Britain’s.

More than £1 billion worth of the strong stuff goes to the United States. Almost £1.4 billion is sold in the European Union.

As enthusiasm for single malt has grown, whisky tourism has rocketed. About two million visitors toured this year, double the number about a decade ago, according to the Scotch Whisky Association, a trade group. Most hail from Germany and the United States, and distillers like Mr. Wills have readily wrung profit from their thirst. Connoisseurs can be seen sipping whisky on tours of Kilchoman, the huge gleaming copper stills in action nearby.

And there is some romance to finding the right tipple. Tourists drive past peat bogs and deep blue lochs on their way to the distilleries. Water from the lochs is rendered into a fine fiery spirit. The peat and salty air flavor what they drink. Even a deep breath near a distillery offers a back-of-the-throat alcoholic tinge.

Mr. Wills has spent nearly half his career distilling this experience into something that newcomers can quaff. His single malt has become a popular export, and he can’t believe the predicament his distillery faces. He frets aloud about the cost of absorbing the 25 percent tariffs. He exports 80 percent of all that he makes, and sells about 40,000 bottles a year in the United States. Sales in America have helped spur growth for the past nine years.

Brexit has been a sort of self-imposed pain in the United Kingdom, he said. The Trump tariffs add salt to the wound. “We’re a growing business, and you need all the support you can get,” he added in exasperation.

Karen Betts, the chief executive of the Scotch Whisky Association, said the Trump administration’s decision to apply tariffs only to single malts was likely to hit smaller producers harder.

“The combination of tariffs in our most valuable market and mitigating the potential impact of Brexit is tough,” she said.

Distillers like Mr. Wills cannot lure their American customers to alternative, blended whiskies because they do not produce them, and single malt has been marketed as distinctive, focused on provenance.

Liam Hughes, chief executive of a small distiller in Glasgow, said his company had just sealed a deal to sell whisky to the United States when the tariffs were announced.

“We were all celebrating, and we wake up the next morning and find a 25 percent tariff overnight has been injected into the equation,” Mr. Hughes said in a telephone interview before flying to Japan to introduce Glasgow Distillery products there.

His distillery spent more than £100,000 and prepared for 18 months to begin exporting to the United States. The company installed two new stills to double production to 1.2 million bottles a year. He hired six more people. The staff has been rushing to prepare molds and design new labels for the larger bottles required in the United States.

Mr. Hughes had been planning to release a special whisky with a barrel maker in Kentucky. “Now the cost of that release will increase by 25 percent, which could be prohibitive,” he said.

He likened the last few days in Scotland to being a small boat in stormy seas “being buffeted left, right and center.” “It obviously makes us extremely nervous,” Mr. Hughes said, being “caught up in a trade dispute that has nothing to do with us.”

Even consumers — or least a few happy tourists taking a dram this week on Islay — found the tariffs a rebuke to global ambitions and business.

“Some of our most important allies in the world” have been “betrayed by this administration because they can’t see the value in free trade and fair trade,” said Jeremy Henderson, 34, from Portland, Ore.

“I would drink Scotch sort of in defiance of that.”

The top Republican in the House of Representatives gave his account of a White House meeting in which House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. walked out.

Pelosi, Hoyer and Schumer left because they are “infatuated” with impeachment and couldn’t “handle” the president’s discussion about pulling troops out of Syria, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy claimed Wednesday on “The Ingraham Angle.”

He said the three Democratic lawmakers’ account in a press availability afterward was inaccurate.

“They left the meeting, other Democrats stayed and we had the most normal meeting you could ever have that was productive with the general of the joint chiefs, the secretary of defense and the president talking about how do we keep the homeland safe,” he said.

“The president starts out and he provides the letter he sent to the president of Turkey, Erdogan,” he continued, claiming Pelosi did not look at it when it came to her turn and instead put it face down on the table.

While speaking to the press, Hoyer gave his account of the events that led to the walkout.
