Pro-Abortion NARAL Posts Perhaps the Most Tone-Deaf Father’s Day Tweet in the History of Twitter

Imagine waking up on Father’s Day, grabbing a cup of coffee, the Sunday paper, and your cell phone to catch up on the latest news and social media goings-on before the celebration of the big day gets started.

Eyes still only halfway open from sleep, you slowly scroll down your Twitter feed and see one of two things:

An absolutely absurd tweet from NARAL Pro-Choice America wishing pro-choice dads a Happy Father’s Day, or, if you’re like me, you read Twitchy‘s mockery of the tweet (which is the much better option in this case).

Worse still, you notice NARAL’s tweet contains an image of a dad holding an infant child who is carrying a sign proclaiming she is a “battle born feminist” – the clear insinuation being that the baby is pro-choice.

This isn’t a nightmare. It actually happened:

In addition to this vile message, the group posted a “Men for Choice” Father’s Day letter on their website, which was signed by a number of pro-abortion men who hole public office. The letter reads, in part:

As a society, we cannot reward a misogynist with a vote for president. When our leaders treat women as less than equal and enact policies that perpetuate gender inequality, that hurts all of us. We need a president who will fight for reproductive freedom so our entire families can get ahead.

Planned Parenthood, in contrast, did not post a Father’s Day message on their Twitter feed or website. Thank goodness.

Their global account, however, posted a tweet on Mother’s Day that left a lot to be desired:

Their U.S. Twitter account wasn’t any better (h/t: Life News HQ):

This was on top of the child-centered video posted by Dr. Leana Wen, the president of Planned Parenthood, that same day:

We can’t get lucky enough for both groups to delete their Twitter accounts, but it sure enough would be nice if they at least avoided social media on Mother’s and Father’s days.

Their tone-deafness is just staggering.

GOP Rep. Will Hurd Is Disinvited From a Tech Conference Because He’s Pro-Life, and Dan Crenshaw Isn’t Having It

Apparently the Democratic war on pro-lifers now extends to events and conferences that have nothing whatsoever to do with the abortion debate.

According a report from the Fox News, Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX-23) was disinvited from an August cybersecurity conference last week because he is pro-life:

Hurd, a former undercover CIA officer and an advocate for cybersecurity on Capitol Hill, was invited to speak at Black Hat, one of biggest cyber security conferences in the country, being held in Las Vegas in August. But Tech Crunch security editor Zach Whittaker highlighted on Thursday what he described was Hurd’s “terrible voting record on women’s rights.” It includes voting against funding for Planned Parenthood, programs supporting women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields, and his support on restricting late-term abortions.

Black Hat initially defended its decision to invite Hurd, saying in a statement “Hurd has a strong background in computer science and information security and has served as an advocate for specific cybersecurity initiatives in Congress,” adding that he will offer a “unique perspective” at the conference.

That did not, however, halt the uproar from the cybersecurity community, with some threatening to pull their involvement in the conference.

As a result of the backlash, Black Hat caved:

“Black Hat has chosen to remove U.S. Representative Will Hurd as our 2019 Black Hat USA Keynote. We misjudged the separation of technology and politics,” said a statement. “We will continue to focus on technology and research, however we recognize that Black Hat USA is not the appropriate platform for the polarizing political debate resulting from our choice of speaker.”

“We are still fully dedicated to providing an inclusive environment and apologize that this decision did not reflect that sentiment,” the statement added.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX-2) slammed the decision:

Yep.

I also wonder if anyone at Black Hat sees the irony in disinviting Hurd (who was not going to speak on pro-life issues) in the interest of not wanting to be seen as taking part in “polarizing political debates.” In axing him from the speaking engagement because of the fauxtrage expressed by concern-troll techies, that’s exactly what Black Hat did.

Hurd’s office responded in a statement:

“Representative Hurd was honored to be invited and hopes that the Black Hat Conference is a success,” said Katie Thompson, Hurd’s communications director, via email.

“Congressman Hurd has always sought to engage groups of people that don’t necessarily agree with all of his votes or opinions. That’s why Rep. Hurd is one of the loudest voices for bipartisanship in Congress.”

She continued: “This Congress alone he voted for equal pay for equal work, for the Violence Against Women Act and the Equality Act.”

Apparently that wasn’t bipartisan enough for the “you will be made to care” caucus. You are either 100% loyal to the pro-abortion cause, or you are the enemy and will be ostracized and shunned.

GOP Representative Dis-Invited From Speaking at Cyber Security Conference Over Unrelated Pro-Life Views

The “Black Hat Conference” is a cyber security forum that happens every year. It features plenty of politicians but also draws some people with genuine knowledge of the arena. One of those people who actually knows what he’s talking about is Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX). He’s a former CIA officer and specializes in the area.

He was scheduled to be a keynote speaker at the conference until something happened.

The short of it is that some pro-abortion liberals ran and cried about Hurd’s pro-life views and that got him uninvited as a keynote speaker. Here’s what was said by the conference spokesperson in response to the rescinding of the invite.

“We misjudged the separation of technology and politics,” wrote the conference in a emailed statement.

What you misjudged is how many cowards are on your planning committee. This is a cyber security conference. What does someone’s mainstream pro-life views on abortion have to do with anything? And what is gained by caving into those that complained?

Hurd gave your typical boilerplate response to being shunned.

Hurd is one of the loudest voices for bipartisanship in Congress.

With all due respect to the Congressman, this isn’t going to cut it. Taking the high road is just going to get you thrown off the road all together.

What’s happening here is profoundly dangerous. We’ve already seen numerous examples of this in blue states banning business with red states over the passage of state laws. The new trend on the left isn’t just condemnation when people disagree, it’s complete destruction and isolation. Say something they don’t agree with? They’ll organize a boycott of your advertisers or get you thrown out of a conference. It’s not enough to just say “I disagree” for these people.

This is the future and I don’t mean that dramatically. This is really the future.

Republicans better wake up sooner rather than later and realize the rules of the game have changed. De-platforming, financial destruction, mobbing, and total shunning from society are the left’s tactics now. Responding by wishing them success, as Hurd did here, is not a viable counter strategy.

We either fight on a level playing field or we will lose. Time for some GOP politicians to decide what they want their fate to be because this is coming for everyone.

Sex Strike Activist Alyssa Milano Releases Abortion Map to Inform Hollywood Where They Should and Shouldn’t Film

Incensed over her failure to stop Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) from signing the state’s fetal heartbeat bill into law last month, but emboldened by her role in getting close pal and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden to flip on the Hyde Amendment, abortion queen and sex strike activist Alyssa Milano is on a new mission.

Variety reports on a state-by-state abortion map she collaborated on that will help inform Hollywood virtue signalers where they should and should not film:

In response to the introduction of multiple “heartbeat bills” across the country, actress and advocate Alyssa Milano has created a shoot location tool for filmmakers that lists the status of abortion legislation in all 50 states. The bills have caused uproar in Hollywood and inspired boycotts in production-heavy states like Georgia.

“Following the passage of a number of draconian attacks on a pregnant person’s right to choose in 2019, including those in states in which the motion picture and television industries conduct significant business, it has become apparent that those in our industry need to be able to make informed choices,” Milano and activist co-author Ben Jackson said in a mission statement accompanying the report.

The survey, published exclusively with Variety, is meant to help actors, producers, directors and studios decide “where it is safe for women to work.”

In addition to the toolkit/map, Milano is working with Atlanta’s (Democrat) mayor on an app that would pinpoint areas they believe progressive safe space Hollywood types in Georgia should avoid:

She is also working with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to develop an app location managers in Georgia could use that would guarantee not spending money in places that fund voter suppression or inequality, according to Variety.

There are Democrat governors in certain “under threat” and “most threatened” states who won’t like that the map was released. My state, for example, is controlled by pro-life Republicans in the state legislature but we have a pro-abortion Democratic governor here (Roy Cooper).

In April, Cooper vetoed a Born Alive bill that would have provided protections for babies who survive botched abortions. Because Republicans don’t have a super-majority here anymore, they tried but failed to fully override the veto.

In spite of the political makeup of this state, which for now ensures that pro-life legislation has no chance, Milano chose to list it as “under threat.”

Quite frankly, I wish she would have listed it as “most threatened” because I’d prefer sanctimonious Hollywood hypocrites like Milano be so outraged as to not step one foot inside this state.

I pray for so-called “feminists” like Alyssa Milano, who have made it their life’s mission to guarantee a woman’s “right” to terminate the life of their unborn child. Ghouls like Milano feel like states should prioritize cold hard cash ahead of protecting innocent unborn life. That she feels like that stance puts her on a higher moral ground than pro-life advocates speaks volumes about her character – and none of it good.

Delta Air Lines Makes the Right Call, Will Not Join Other Companies in Virtue Signaling Against Pro-Life States

Westlake Legal Group 0da5d850-d328-41f6-9b52-e3426630cf80.v1-620x317 Delta Air Lines Makes the Right Call, Will Not Join Other Companies in Virtue Signaling Against Pro-Life States SJWs Pro-Life Politics North Carolina Good Deeds Georgia Front Page Stories Front Page Feminism Featured Story Featured Post democrats Delta Air Lines Culture Boycotts Allow Media Exception Abortion

Red State‘s Brandon Morse wrote earlier this week about 180 CEOs – including Twitter’s Jack Dorsey and Bloomberg chair Peter Grauer – who signed on to a “Don’t Ban Equality” campaign that is designed to put economic pressure on conservative states to stop passing pro-life legislation.

The campaign was inspired, in part, by the fetal heartbeat bills that were signed into law last month in pro-life states like Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana.

A refresher, via Fox Business:

The letter, which appeared as a full-page ad in the Monday edition of The New York Times under the titled “Don’t Ban Equality,” Opens a New Window. called on companies to “stand up for reproductive health care.” CEOs from media, fashion, beauty, food and tech companies were among those listed as signatories.

“Restricting access to comprehensive reproductive care, including abortion, threatens the health, independence and economic stability of our employees and customers,” the letter stated. “Simply put, it goes against our values, and is bad for business.”

In spite of intense pressure from Democrats, their MSM allies, and various social justice warrior movements, Georgia-based Delta Air Lines says they are staying out of the abortion debate:

Delta Air Lines is one of the largest employers in Georgia, but the airline’s chief executive said Tuesday the company will not take a stand on the state’s restrictive abortion law, which other corporate leaders have called “bad for business.”

[…]

“This is something that the courts need to settle and resolve, not corporate America. At least for us. I can’t win,” Delta Air Lines Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian said at Recode’s annual Code Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

[…]

“We carry 200 million people a year, we have 80,000 employees. We cannot as a company take one group and put it over another group when you’ve got such an emotional — some would say almost religious — view as to what the right answer is,” he said.

This is the right approach. People across this country are getting fed up with corporations needlessly inserting themselves into political debates. Even more so that that, people are getting sick and tired of progressive bullying organizations like Human Rights Campaign and the ACLU dragging these companies into these debates.

Perhaps Delta learned their lessons on the “can’t win” drawbacks of corporate activism after what happened to them in the aftermath of their decision to cut ties with the NRA last year under pressure from gun control groups.

Delta’s decision not to get involved in the abortion debate will likely rankle leftists like abortion absolutist and actress Alyssa Milano, but if so it wouldn’t be the first time in recent weeks they’ve gotten on the left’s bad side. Just last month, Democrats were outraged over Delta fliers that made the air line’s anti-union stance crystal clear.

In the “good deeds” department, Delta recently provided free tickets to Alaska and Hawaii for Rodney Smith, Jr. of “Raising Men” lawn care service, who had a goal of mowing lawns (for free) for the elderly, handicapped, disabled, and veterans in all 50 states. With those tickets, Smith was able to reach his goal.

Alyssa Milano tells pro-lifers to ‘shove it’ but only makes a fool of herself

Westlake Legal Group Alyssa-Milano Alyssa Milano tells pro-lifers to ‘shove it’ but only makes a fool of herself The Blog Pro-Life border security Alyssa Milano Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Earlier today there was a claim made on Twitter about a premature baby at a detention center:

Actress Alyssa Milano was one of the people tweeting about it and her tweet got the attention of Sen. Jeff Merkley:

At some point, Milano decided to spike the football, so to speak, by calling all pro-lifers hypocrites:

Milano’s argument only works if you assume that pro-lifers a) don’t know asylum seekers have heartbeats or b) support letting asylum seekers die despite the fact that they have heartbeats. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest the number of people who believe a or b is vanishingly small if not zero. As numerous people pointed out to Milano, what this comparison really does is make a good case against abortion:

I liked this one:

Anyway, you get the point. We don’t stop the hearts of people crossing the border illegally. In fact, Border Patrol agents go to great lengths to protect children at the border. But the kicker here, as Ben Shapiro points out, is that even if every pro-lifer suddenly agreed to abandon border controls and let people cross the border at will (as if that made any sense), Milano still wouldn’t reciprocate by defending the heartbeats of the unborn.

Speaking of hacks making dumb arguments, I feel like Milano may have borrowed this from AOC who offered a similar argument on Twitter a few weeks ago. I made a similar response to that one:

For the record, as someone who is pro-life and supports border security, I don’t think pro-lifers are the hypocrites here. I don’t think they would support the death of any child, regardless of immigration status. But if premature babies deserve care because they have a heartbeat, shouldn’t unborn babies get the same care because they also have a heartbeat? I’m pretty confident that AOC and Alyssa Milano don’t support that and never have.

One Texas City Has Banned Abortion Clinics

A city council in Texas has now declared its town a “sanctuary for the unborn” after its city council voted to ban abortion clinics within its borders.

According to Life News, the east Texas city of Waskom voted unanimously to ban clinics after Louisiana, which it borders, made it illegal to abort a baby once a heartbeat is detectable. Waskom residents did not want abortion providers setting up shop in their town in order to attract those seeking abortions to cross into Texas from Louisiana to have it done:

Waskom is not far from the border of Louisiana, which recently passed a law banning abortions after an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable. City leaders said they do not want abortion businesses to try to open in their city to attract women from across the border.

The ordinance says Roe v. Wade and other laws permitting abortion are “unconstitutional usurpations of judicial power, which violate both the Tenth Amendment the Republican Form of Government Clause, and are null and void in the City of Waskom.”

“We decided to take things into our own hands, and we’ve got to do something to protect our cities and to protect the unborn children,” said Mark Lee Dickson, director of the Right to Life with East Texas, according to KTAL.

Waskom’s mayor and the city attorney have both expressed fears that the city would be taken to court in an expensive legal battle to see if the law is constitutional or not, however, the people of Waskom are reportedly on board with the new ordinance, are ready to fight any battles to come under the belief that God will take care of them.

Dem rep’s House speech: I’m tired of hearing about abortion from “sex-starved males on this floor”

Westlake Legal Group nt Dem rep’s House speech: I’m tired of hearing about abortion from “sex-starved males on this floor” woodall The Blog starved sex starved Sex Pro-Life pro-choice Norma Torres House Abortion

I consider this progress. The left’s standard position is that no man, sex-starved or otherwise, is entitled to help set policy on abortion.

Congrats to the bros who are getting laid regularly on their new role in this wrenching debate.

As for the rest of us, for the record: We’re not “sex-starved, ” we’re sex-peckish.

A weird thing about this clip is that Rob Woodall, the Republican congressman who interrupted her, actually did her a favor of sorts by doing so. If she hadn’t retracted, the House could have gagged her for the rest of the afternoon. Then we’d have to wade through a flood of terrible lefty thinkpieces tomorrow about Norma Torres being silenced for speaking feminist truth to patriarchal power, etc etc.

So, really, Rob Woodall did us all a favor:

Her remarks triggered audible outrage — and numerous calls for a point of order — from the Republican side of the chamber. But longtime Rules Committee member Rob Woodall, R-Ga., got the presiding officer’s attention first and gave his Rules Committee colleague a chance to, shall we say, clarify her words…

Torres at that point could have been at risk of being silenced for the entire day, as Republicans could have requested striking her words from the record. A day of silence is part of the consequence if the words are “ruled out of order,” according to the Congressional Research Service.

But Woodall kept requests from other members at bay, and allowed Torres to again propose withdrawing her statement — this time without the inflammatory commentary about GOP colleagues. Torres then rephrased her views.

Why’d she cuck out and withdraw what she said right after saying it? All she had to do to become a viral sensation and overnight star among online lefty idiots was to double down and show defiance. Silencing her for being “out of order” would have been the icing on the cake of her new hero-martyr status in progressive media for the next 24 hours. This was a missed opportunity for five minutes of free airtime on the Rachel Maddow Show.

Anyway, for the record, Republicans have better sex lives than Democrats. Although that’s probably due to marital status: Democrats have more singles than Republicans do, singles are stuck going without sex periodically, ergo GOPers are less likely to be “sex-starved.”

Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA-35) speaks on the floor of the U.S. House – 6/12/19. Screen grab via C-SPAN.

I thought I’d seen it all when it came to Democrat women infantilizing the abortion debate, but what happened on the floor of the U.S. House today just might take the cake.

Roll Call reports:

A routine House debate nearly exploded Wednesday when California Democrat Norma J. Torres implied her Republican colleagues were “sex-starved males” for opposing abortion.

“Mr. Speaker, it is tiring to hear from so many sex-starved males on this floor talk about a woman’s right to choose,” Torres said as lawmakers debated a rule setting up amendment consideration for a four-bill spending package that includes funding for public health programs.

Torres, one of the newest members of the House Rules Committee, clearly broke House Rules — members cannot personally impugn their colleagues on the floor.

Watch video of Torres speaking on the House floor, and what happened after, below:

Unsurprisingly, Torres is being praised and virtually high-fived on social media by The Usual SuspectsWestlake Legal Group 2122 Video: Rep. Plus, isn’t this kinda like reverse sexism or something? Writer Jeryl Bier made an excellent point in this regard on Twitter earlier:

As I’ve written previously, La. Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) is pro-life for very personal reasons – reasons that have nothing to do with being “sex-starved.”

Not only that, but there are many other pro-life male politicians on both sides of the aisle who are also fathers. Some are brothers, uncles, nephews, cousins. They aren’t pro-life because they want to “control women.” Nor are they pro-life because they are “sex-starved.” They are pro-life because they can’t imagine life without their loved ones.

Democrats and their feminist allies want you to believe these men have “no standing” in the abortion debate. That’s just wrong. All voices matter in this debate.

The irony of it all is that Torres’s belief in abortion on demand benefits “sex-starved” liberal males who support a woman’s “right to choose” because it gets them off the hook.

Don’t look for that inconvenient fact to be mentioned by Torres on the House floor, though. Wouldn’t get her near the applause, “you go, girl!” praises, favorable media mentions, and likes/RTs.

Louisiana’s Donna and Gov. John Bel Edwards (D). Screen grab via a 2015 Edwards campaign ad.

The Democrat purging of pro-life liberals continues.

The latest example comes from Louisiana, where a recent poll shows that young Democrats in the state want their Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards primaried – because he’s pro-life.

The Free Beacon reports:

A poll of registered Democratic voters conducted by We Ask America just days after the [fetal heartbeat] bill was signed into law found that 81 percent of respondents were already aware of Edwards’s decision, with a whopping 92 percent of young registered voters saying they knew about the legislation. Unsurprisingly, 60 percent of respondents said they opposed his abortion stance, including 80 percent of young voters.

Many are so displeased with Edwards that they want him to pay for his abortion stance with a primary challenge, the poll found. Forty-two percent of Democrats and 64 percent of young Democrats said they would like another Democratic candidate to be on the ballot in October.

[…]

The Free Beacon reported last week that Democrats in the state legislature are aware of the political problem the abortion issue causes Edwards and made a “strategic decision” to delay a major abortion ballot initiative.

It’s unclear how many of those same Democrats know the reason why Edwards is pro-life:

The Democrat’s anti-abortion stance stems from his wife’s pregnancy nearly 30 years ago. A doctor discovered their daughter, Samantha, had spina bifida and encouraged an abortion, but the couple refused.

Samantha is now married and works as a school counselor, according to the outlet.

“In eight years in the legislature, I was a pro-life legislator, 100 percent with the Louisiana Right to Life,” Edwards said during a Thursday press conference. “When I ran for governor, I said I was pro-life and so that’s something that’s consistent.”

Per Wikipedia, the Louisiana gubernatorial primary will be held on October 12, 2019 under what’s called a “jungle primary” system:

Under Louisiana’s jungle primary system, all candidates appear on the same ballot, regardless of party, and voters may vote for any candidate, regardless of their party affiliation. If no candidate receives a majority of the vote during the primary election on October 12, 2019, a runoff election will be held on November 16, 2019, between the top two candidates in the primary.[1]

Polling from a month ago showed Edwards well ahead of the two Republicans challenging him, but per The Hill “[Edwards] has not yet secured a threshold that would allow him to avoid a runoff.”

That poll was also taken before Edwards signed the fetal heartbeat bill into law.
