Admittedly, Playboy has never been your typical girly magazine. The ubiquitous bunny has always mixed scantily clad (or less) ladeeez with articles about politics, technology, literature, alcohol, and other fancypants men’s interests.

During Hef’s era, there was an element of “guy smoking a pipe in a high-back leather chair” to it all.

And then BOOM — a topless cheerleader.

But are men as sophisticated these days? And are they randy (and) savage enough to admit they wanna see girlparts? Or have contemporary American males taken a hard look at their genitals and distilled, “#TimesUp”? And can they even spell “genitals”? This ain’t the tuxedo generation.

But if the ol’ spirit’s still alive, where does aristocratic love for the flesh go from here?

Playboy tried to…uh…play by the new rules, but it didn’t work: For about 10 seconds, the hare stopped the bare. With all nudity cut from the book, a whole bunch of people suddenly and curiously lost their love for reading.

So skin came back in, and now there’s a new chief in town.

As reported by Queerty.com, the new executive editor for Playboy is 31-year-old gay man Shane Michael Singh. He’s been hoofin’ it since September to make all your “Entertainment for Men” dreams come true.

And some of those dreams’ll be new. Just ask KCRW:

Playboy Magazine built a culture of objectifying women that doesn’t fly in the #MeToo era. Now the magazine is embracing diverse models and photographers, more LGBTQ representation, and political themes.

In a recent interview with Santa Monica College’s National Public Radio member station, Shane explained the new wave. Now, it’s just about pleasure for everyone:

“We want to create a culture where everyone is free to pursue pleasure. … To say we were only appealing to men was very limiting from an editorial and creative perspective. Especially because we have decades and decades of readership across demographics.”

As stated by Queerty, “[Singh] said that gay people think about issues regarding sex, sexual expression and sexual freedom more than others. So that, combined with his journalism background and past work with Playboy make him a good fit for its executive editor.”

So how does Shane go about giving the nekkid rabbit a makeover? Like this:

“It starts with creating with intention. … We acknowledge parts of our legacy that others find problematic, while also saying, ‘What are the best parts of our legacy? What else have we been on the right side of history about? LGBTQ rights has been one of those. That’s how we have been leaning into that space a little more.”

They’ve certainly been leaning — as I noted just days ago, in 2017, the lusty lagomorph featured its first man identifying as a woman (here). Check out the cottontail of Ines Rau:

Do you have questions? So does Queerty:

As for whether the new magazines will feature frontal male nudity now that a gay man is in charge, Singh says the current issue has a retrospective of all the times the magazine has featured that.

Singh also says it’s possible that future issues might contain male nudity, but that the editorial leadership hasn’t decided on it yet because they’d want to do it intentionally, to consider the effect that presenting male nudity along female nudity would have on the magazine and the culture they want to create.

Singh also highlighted the magazine’s recent shoot with Ezra Miller wearing the iconic Playboy bunny ears and mentioned that the ears bring out a playful and sensuous side of anyone who wears them — male, female or otherwise. As such, the magazine had seven queer artists redesign the ears and they sold them to raise funds for the Trevor Project to help campaign against so-called “ex-gay” reparative therapy.

Straight men, is that gettin’ your motor runnin’? Gay men, will you rush to the Rabbit for your foxyman fix?

Time will tell.

For those of you whose appetite has just been whetted like it’s goin’ outta style, get the 411 on your brand new savory subscription here.

Finally. A fed federal study on transgender athletes in female sports

Westlake Legal Group race Finally. A fed federal study on transgender athletes in female sports transgender The Blog study Connecticut competition athletes

Better late than never I suppose. Why this didn’t happen years ago remains a mystery, but the Department of Education has finally agreed to look into the practice in several states of allowing boys who “identify” as girls to compete against actual girls in athletic competitions. This action came in response to recent complaints from the families of several girls in Connecticut who have been shut out at track events by two biological male competitors who have been setting records and clearing the field over the past couple of years. (Washington Times)

The federal Office for Civil Rights has launched an investigation into Connecticut’s policy that allows transgender high school athletes to compete as the gender with which they identify.

The investigation was announced in a letter Wednesday from the arm of the U.S. Department of Education. It follows a complaint in June by the families of three girls, who say they were discriminated against by having to compete in track events against two athletes who were identified as male at birth and who they say have “male hormone levels and musculature.”

The complaint was submitted on the girls’ behalf by lawyers for the conservative non-profit organization Alliance Defending Freedom…

The problem here is that any study they engage in is going to immediately be poisoned by all the politics involved. Unfortunately, we have too many elected officials who have been cowed by activists and have seemingly forgotten that biology is not bigotry. It’s just science.

If they need some guidance as they tackle this subject, perhaps they should take a look at the results of a recent study on transgender athletes in women’s sports. (Daily Caller)

The paper, “Transwomen in elite sport: scientific and ethical considerations,” concluded that male athletes who identify as transgender women have an “intolerable” advantage over their female competitors.

The authors, two bioethics professors and a physiology professor, noted that “there is very little scientific evidence” to support the argument that “hormone therapy will mitigate the advantage transwomen may have in comparison with cis-women athletes.”

The authors cited research showing that “healthy young men did not lose significant muscle mass (or power) when their circulating testosterone levels were reduced to [below International Olympic Committee guidelines] for 20 weeks.”

At least someone is throwing some actual science at a subject that should have been available for a yellow card based on common sense. You really need to go no further than clicking through the links above and looking at those two high school track stars from Connecticut. I’m sorry to have to be the one to say it, but those are not girls. They can “identify” as girls if they like. They call themselves whatever they wish… it’s still a free country for the time being. But when it comes to physical prowess, those are boys. And they are shutting out actual girls from a chance at scholarships and college acceptance.

We have separate sports for the two genders for a reason. Males have distinct biological advantages for most fields of athletic competition and the best among the men will defeat the best among the women virtually every time. If you’re going to ignore science, then we might as well just do away with having female sports entirely and just have everyone compete in the same leagues. And the women might as well pack it up and go home if that’s the case.

Victoria’s Secret: New model is transgender woman, executive resigns

Westlake Legal Group cb2b1412-de6f-42d7-af2c-1adaa3e86a08@news.ap_.org_ Victoria’s Secret: New model is transgender woman, executive resigns Victoria's Secret transgender The Blog Jeffrey Epstein Beauty

When times get tough, the tough …. hire a transgender model? That is the message from Victoria’s Secret, is seems. Ed Razek, the chief marketing executive for L Brands, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret, has made the decision that it is time to say adios. To be fair, he’s been maneuvering in rough terrain for many months. Not only is Victoria’s Secret struggling to remain the gold standard for sexy lingerie, but there’s also the whole Jeffrey Epstein connection, too.

Valentina Sampaio, a Brazilian model, and actress made the announcement on her Instagram account because this is 2019 and that is how these things are done. The picture was one taken as Valentina worked on the Victoria’s Secret Pink campaign. She has a solid resume of international work for a 22-year-old. This is not her first transgender ceiling-breaker, either, as she was the first transgender model to grace the cover of any Vogue edition – hers was for Vogue Paris.

Sampaio is a 22-year-old transgender model from Brazil who began her career walking in São Paulo Fashion Week. She was subsequently cast in the ad campaign for the collaboration between L’Oréal Paris and Balmain in 2017. She also appeared on the cover of Vogue Paris for the March 2017 issue, marking the first time a transgender model appeared on the cover of any Vogue edition. She has since appeared on other Vogue covers, including the Brazilian and German editions, and on the covers of Elle Mexico and Brazil and in the pages of Vanity Fair Italy and Marie Claire Brazil. Sampaio has also worked with brands such as Philipp Plein, Moschino and Pollini, among others.

We will be made to accept the transgender agenda whether we want to or not. Transgender is the new black, to paraphrase a quote from the fashion industry. There was a time when a transgender reveal was a rarity, not a mainstream conversation. I’m old enough to remember Renee Richards, the tennis player, who was born Richard Raskind. There was a whole controversy over if Richards should be allowed to compete in women’s tennis competitions. VS Pink, for which Valentina was hired to market, is Victoria’s Secret athletic line.

It turns out that Razek got into some hot water last year because of a remark he made in a Vogue interview.

The marketing executive made headlines last year when he said in an interview with Vogue that Victoria’s Secret should not cast “transsexuals” in its fashion show “because the show is a fantasy.” Mr. Razek later apologized for his “insensitive” remarks.

I assume Valentina was brought on to mend fences and to be held up as a gesture of kumbaya to the transgender community. Victoria’s Secret also has to deal with the #MeToo movement and its connection to Jeffrey Epstein. For years, Epstein has been an adviser to Leslie H. Wexner, the company’s chief executive.

The Times reported last month that L Brands executives in the mid-1990s had learned that Mr. Epstein was trying to pitch himself as a recruiter for Victoria’s Secret models. They said Mr. Wexner was warned. Around the same time, a model said, Mr. Epstein lured her to his hotel room under the pretense of being a Victoria’s Secret talent scout and then attacked her.

L Brands has said it hired outside lawyers to “to conduct a thorough review” into the relationship between Mr. Wexner and Mr. Epstein.

The long knives are out from activist groups and Victoria’s Secret has had a hard time keeping up. It looks like the sexy lingerie fashion shows aren’t going to be televised anymore. That’s sure to bring sighs of disappointment from men across America. So much for the young women wearing wings and high heels sashaying down the runway. Transgender models are up-to-date, you see. And inclusive.

In May, after nearly two decades of star-studded events, Mr. Wexner said that the fashion show would no longer air on network television. Last week, the model Shanina Shaik told The Daily Telegraph that this year’s show was canceled entirely.

James A. Mitarotonda, who heads the activist investor Barington Capital Group, sent a letter in March to Mr. Wexner complaining about L Brands’ poor performance. Mr. Mitarotonda wrote that Victoria’s Secret needed to employ “a more inclusive marketing message” and that Mr. Razek “has done a poor job of stewarding Victoria’s Secret’s brand by failing to communicate a compelling, up-to-date image that resonates with today’s consumers.”

Make Your Mark: The Pasadena Rose Parade Invites Men Who Identify as Women to Be Its Next Queen

If you’re a man who’s always wanted to lead the New Year’s Day Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, your time has come.

That’s right: The iconic extravaganza has opened up its title of Rose Queen to dudes.

Why not just have a Rose King, too? They’ve had a few, since 1905.

But this is different. Who doesn’t wanna be queen for a day?

There is a catch, though; you can be a man, but you’ve gotta conform to the social construct of female: It seems you’ll have to dress like a lady.

As reported by Pasadena Now, the Parade’s changed its rules so the royal court now invites any and all candidates who “identify as female.”

Once again, men swoop in to unseat a girl who would’ve otherwise gotten an opportunity. First sports (herehere, and here), then Playboy, then Victoria’s Secret (here), now a Rose is a ruse — I mean, rose. Get outta the way, chicks, and let Ethel Merman sing it to ya — anything you can do, men can do better. Or at least, they’ll try to.

From Pasadena Now:

A change to the Tournament of Roses application for the Royal Court could allow transgender applicants the opportunity to enter the process. Requirements previously required that applicants “must be female,” but this year the requirement has changed to “must identify as female.”

Actually, the local outlet specifies that men aren’t welcome:

As before, men still are not allowed to enter the process.

So no men, but any people who identify as female. But also not just women.

Sounds like in Pasadena, they’ve got their own kinds of people walkin’ around.

But the important thing is the important thing that’s always the important thing, as stated by Tournament of Roses Chief Executive Officer David Eads:

“We have always tried to be very inclusive and embrace diversity.”

But not so inclusive as to allow men.

And this new diversity began over half a year ago:

“With our Royal Court members, last year we had our first Rose Queen that publicly identified as LGBTQ. So then the question of would we accept a transperson as part of our Royal Court, and again, based on our selection criteria, somebody’s sexual identity or orientation has never been part of our selection criteria.”

Indeed — Rose Queen Louise Deser Siskel came out to the Los Angeles Times as bisexual.

Going forward, guys have more reason than ever to challenge chicks for the throne:

Eads said the selection process is still based on several qualities, including speaking skills, leadership and their academic achievement and their community and school involvement.”

The Tournament of Roses will also increase the scholarship from $2,500 to $7,500 for members of the Royal Court.

Louise Deser Siskel made history. And now, if you’re a man who identifies as a woman but you’re definitely not a man, so can you.

We don’t need to legislate pronouns, people

Westlake Legal Group intersex We don’t need to legislate pronouns, people transgender pronouns transgender The Blog Legislation intersex

At NPR, Berkeley professor, linguist and self-described “grammar geezer” Geoff Nunberg has published a screed about the need to shift the English language to gender-neutral pronouns. He provides a brief history of various pronoun revolutions that have taken place over the centuries, leading up to the bizarre creations we’re seeing today, such as “ze.” But the one the professor settles on, in the end, is the “singular they.”

You can see why people would pick “they.” In everyday speech we often use that pronoun for a single person, though only when the word or phrase it substitutes for — its antecedent, as it’s called — doesn’t refer to a specific individual. So we say, “Somebody lost their wallet,” or, “If a student fails, they have to retake the course.” Or the person we’re referring to may be simply unknown. Your daughter’s cell phone rings at the dinner table; you say, “Tell them you’ll call them back.” Male or female, one caller or several? The pronoun “they” is like, “whatever.”

That singular “they” goes back hundreds of years. Jane Austen’s novels are bristling with sentences like “No one can ever be in love more than once in their life.” But that use of the pronoun fell into disrepute in the 19th century, when grammarians condemned it as incorrect and proclaimed that the so-called generic “he” should be used instead. The idea is that when you write, “Every singer has his range,” the pronoun “his” refers to both men and women — or as they sometimes put it, “the masculine embraces the feminine.”

It’s interesting to see someone who butters their bread as a wordsmith taking a dip into this particular pool. It’s true that the English language, particularly as employed by Americans, has been on an unending evolutionary journey for as long as it’s existed. But that phenomenon is mostly characterized by the addition of new words, old words absorbing new, alternate definitions or the generally annoying addition of portmanteaus that may survive in the long run or turn out to be fads that quickly fade from memory.

The underlying sentence structure, however, doesn’t change nearly as often or as radically. Nunberg attempts to make the case that the singular “they” is a good candidate as a substitute for he or she when referring to the “gender-ambiguous.” (This extends to “their” and “them” as required.) The reason given is that we already use “they” in place of gender-specific pronouns all the time, so the author argues that it would be easy for us to make the adjustment. All you need to do, he claims, is “tweak your internal grammar so that the pronoun ‘they’ can refer to a specific individual.”

But that’s not a tweak. It’s an aberration, and everyone who does any significant amount of either reading or writing knows that it strikes a sour tone in their ears. Oddly enough, Nunberg provides the argument against his own premise early in the article. True, we do use the singular they on a regular basis, but it serves as a placeholder when the specific identity of the word or phrase it’s replacing is unknown or unknowable, or obviously plural. The author provides the example of “Sandy was brushing their hair.”

After tossing that linguistic grenade out onto the field, he immediately (and correctly) notes that the only way that sentence works for most people is if Sandy is in the process of brushing the hair of multiple people. Perhaps he or she is a hairdresser. But inserting “their” if Sandy is brushing his or her own hair breaks the sentence. Nunberg refers to this change as “a small courtesy and sign of respect.” But is it really?

The painful (for some) reality is that we are a species comprised of two genders, with the exceedingly rare exception of those individuals born with anomalous chromosomal structures, primarily in the 23rd pair. Recognizing that fact in speech or writing is a simple thing. To be sure, free speech applies to all and you can call yourself whatever you like. But that doesn’t mean your choice should be forced on everyone else or lead to erratic use of the language.

Breaking: Canadian Police Raid Home Of Trans Activist Who Sued Over Genital Waxing

Westlake Legal Group car-1531273_640-620x413 Breaking: Canadian Police Raid Home Of Trans Activist Who Sued Over Genital Waxing wax Uncategorized transgender RCMP raid predator jessica yaniv Front Page Stories

Jessica Yaniv is a transgender activist who gained notoriety recently when he demanded British Columbia beauty technician wax his genitals after she said she was uncomfortable waxing male genitalia. Yaniv took his complaints to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and won a financial judgment against the terrified woman.

It might have ended right there, with Yaniv just becoming another story in a long line of bizarre stories about gender recently. However, the attention from the story put Yaniv in the spotlight just long enough to reveal he had some other very serious issues.

Not only has Yaniv been accused of sexually exploiting young girls, he also tried to arrange a “topless swim night” for girls 12-14 years old. Conveniently the night was deemed “parent free”.

However, Yaniv may be in serious trouble after an appearance on trans Youtuber Blair White’s channel. White, a transgender male-to-female personality, is known for taking a more conservative approach to gender and sexuality issues. Last month, White expressed a concern about Yaniv, suggesting he might not be transgender but a predator.

White noted that Yaniv is either delusional about girls or is intentionally predatory. She says that she’s going to be called “transphobic” herself for calling Yaniv a “he,” but lays out her belief that Yaniv isn’t actually transgender, just a predatory posing as a transgender person.

“I do not believe this is a trans woman. I believe this is a predator posing as a trans woman,” said White.

“Make no mistake, none of these messages are how women talk to each other, or how trans women talk to women, or anyone,” she continued. “Yaniv clearly has an obsession with feminine products, and women, and girls. It’s incredibly disturbing and it needs to be called out.”

White also points out the tweets Yaniv has sent to underage girls consistently asking their age, and notes that you don’t ask these questions in online discussions as age is irrelevant in most cases. Yaniv has made it a habit, and White even shows us a tweet of Yaniv celebrating on Twitter a ruling judging girl’s have no right to visual bodily privacy.

Yaniv’s appearance on White’s show unsurprisingly took a turn for the bizarre when he began ranting about foreigners invading Canada through immigration and took out a taser he keeps for “personal safety” in his apartment.

That’s where it all went off the rails because Canadian law does not allow citizens to own tasers as weapons. He also ran afoul of speech laws with his immigration rant. That was enough for the RCMP to issue a warrant and raid Yaniv’s apartment on Tuesday. From The Post Millennial:

Reports about the raid initially circulated on the forum KiwiFarms, with user and neighbour to Yaniv, WGKitty, reporting the arrival of Police at approximately 9:46 pm EST. The user reported Police presence at Yaniv’s Walnut Grove residence overnight August 5th, with a search to be conducted by the Federal RCMP this morning.

Yaniv was reportedly not allowed access to the residence while the RCMP conducted their search, with Langley Police guarding the residence since police arrived last night.

While the RCMP declined to provide a specific name unless charges were laid, they were able to confirm to The Post Millennial that a warrant was executed at a Walnut Grove address confirmed to house Yaniv. The warrant concerned a prohibited weapon, with the responding officer noting that “an active file is still ongoing.” An earlier call to the RCMP by Jessica Rumpel, whose story of sexual interference by Yaniv was covered by The Post Millennial, resulted in her noting that the RCMP had an open “file report” on Yaniv.

Human Events Managing Editor Ian Miles Cheong tweeted that he believes this is only the tip of the iceberg for Yaniv.

The definitions of “sex” and “gender identity” are heading to SCOTUS… sort of

Westlake Legal Group TransBathroom The definitions of “sex” and “gender identity” are heading to SCOTUS… sort of transgender rights transgender The Blog Supreme Court lawsuit Equality

For some time now, we’ve been waiting for a court case that could clear up some of the rather daunting questions arising from issues of transgender rights and how they intersect with traditional views on privacy and the segregation of the genders. A variety of these cases have produced a mixed bag of results in the lower courts and the Supreme Court has seemed reluctant to do more than nibble around the edges of the underlying questions. That may be about to change, though perhaps not for the better.

The Daily Signal has a good summary of such a case where oral arguments will be presented before the Supremes on October 8th. The case is R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Homes Inc. v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The case centers on Tom and Nancy Rost, who operate a family-owned funeral home in the Detroit area.

Six years ago, one of their male employees announced that he was transgender and planned to begin dressing as a woman at work. Tom reportedly agonized over the decision and the impact it might have on his female employees and, even more so, their grieving clients. In the end, he decided he couldn’t allow the employee to do that and declined the request. In short order, he was sued by the EEOC. And as the Daily Signal points out, it’s a decision that could have a dramatic impact on small businesses around the country.

Later, following the commission’s urging, a federal court of appeals effectively redefined the word “sex” in federal law to mean “gender identity.”

Enacted by Congress in 1964, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act has long protected women, along with racial and religious minorities, from unjust discrimination in the workplace.

Redefining the term “sex” in that law to mean “gender identity” would create chaotic, unworkable situations and unjustly punish business owners like Tom while destroying important gains women and girls have made over the past 50 years.

Indeed, Tom Rost’s case, in which Alliance Defending Freedom represents the funeral home, is just the tip of the iceberg.

Speaking as someone who has been digging into the broader aspects of this subject for some time now, I regret to say that this is probably just about the worst case you could pick to send to the Supreme Court, and not just because it looks likely to go against the defendants. The problems here are many, but the biggest one is the type of action that the employer is trying to engage in.

We’ve covered more transgender lawsuits here than I can count, but the big ones that have been of interest almost uniformly revolve around either issues of privacy or fairness, particularly in competitive sports. The former generally deal with public access to bathrooms, lockers, and showers while the latter focus on males identifying as females competing against actual women in sporting events. In all these cases, natural women and girls frequently come out on the losing end when they go before a judge.

In Harris Funeral Homes, while the issue of bathroom access comes up (and could be easily resolved) this primarily comes down to an employment opportunity question. What the owners have done is basically informed their employee that they can’t keep their job if they dress as the opposite sex. We shouldn’t be in the business of denying jobs to transgender workers, to begin with, and the court will probably read the case that way and find for the plaintiff.

Even worse, this case gives the Supremes an open invitation to ignore the larger, underlying questions we need answered and duck out of a sticky situation with a very narrow, tailored ruling. This case does nothing to address the question of whether or not “identifying” as the opposite gender actually makes you that other gender in the eyes of the law. It doesn’t force the justices to demand answers in terms of the “science” behind transgender claims. It doesn’t take into account the issues surrounding the natural physical advantages males have over females in competitive environments.

No, this case ignores all of that and allows the plaintiff to basically frame this as a question of whether or not the funeral home can force him to dress a certain way for work and fire him if he fails to comply. And of course, the answer to that question is no. It’s not a question of sloppy or inappropriate clothing. It’s gender-specific clothing. And as longs as the clothes are clean and professional-looking, you could no more fire a woman dressed in a suit, tie and trousers than you could a man wearing a gown. Nor should you.

What we need to see is one of these cases of men competing in women’s sports make it to the Supreme Court and attempt to force them to answer these question of whether or not these are actually women and how fair or unfair such competitions are. Don’t be shocked if the Supremes duck away from Harris Funeral Homes on those larger issues and treat this as an equal employment opportunity case. It’s what they love to do in the trickier social conflict cases (as well as with the Second Amendment) and they will almost certainly take that escape hatch here if it’s available.

This is the world in 2019.”

Did the feminists agree?

Someone somewhere didn’t — according to Paper Magazine, Carissa was subsequently dropped by her modeling agency.

As per Paper, though she deleted the posts, users of social media “were able to find the receipts and have been witness to Pinkston’s transphobia…”

Following the fallout, she seemed to, perhaps, have a nervous breakdown. She appeared on Instagram Live, crying and speaking, but the audio was muted.

Afterward, she posted a coming-out notice — saying she’s actually a man identifying as a woman. Therefore, she’s a woman:

“I wasn’t ready to come about it yet but today I got fired and I’ve been receiving hate mail and death threats ever since so I’m being forced to tell the truth. I’m Transgender. I transitioned at a very young age and I’ve lived my Life as a female ever since. It’s been very hard to keep this secret but what I said about Trans-Women is a direct reflection of my inner securities and I have since come to realize that I am a Woman. WE ALL ARE!”

Her fellow models started to rat her out — she’s a girl, not a man saying he’s a girl. And she was in trouble for saying a man saying he’s a girl isn’t a girl.

Over the weekend, Carissa caved. She explained that she was just scared and acted rashly:

Paper Mag reports:

All her posts have since been deleted, except for the screenshots going around online.

What an entangled mess.

It’s a lot to unpack, and I look forward to your disassembling comments.

In the meantime, I feel bad for any 20-year-old who’s attacked on the web. The internet is a merciless place, and that’s a delicate time in one’s life. Feeling the weight of the world attacking you — whether i’s an accurate metric or not — is surely a hard row to hoe.

As for whether a man is a woman, or whether a woman who says she’s a man who’s a woman has no business saying she’s anything but a woman but also has no business saying a man who says he’s a woman is in fact nothing but a woman…Actually, I need to just take a nap.

It’s a brave new world out there. Tread lightly.

Mario Lopez Claims Small Children Shouldn’t Choose Their Gender. What’s Worse – That or His Christian Faith?

Access Hollywood host and Saved By the Bell hunk Mario Lopez is getting grilled on the web for a recent comment he made on children and gender identity.

While guesting on The Candace Owens Show last month, television’s A.C. Slater injected his opinion on the “weird trend” of celebrities “transitioning” their small children.

Former nanny Candace posited:

“I’ve had children say they were mermaids, I’ve had children say they could fly. … I’m trying to understand this new Hollywood mentality where they just think their children now have the mental authority and clarity…”

In joined Mario:

“I’m kind of blown away, too. Look — I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids, obviously. … And I would say if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong. But at the same time, my God, if you’re three years old, and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way or you think you’re a boy or girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make that determination then, ‘Okay, then you’re going to be a boy or girl’ or whatever the case may be. It’s sort of alarming and, my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on.”

Some on social media found him outrageous:

While on Candace’s program, the actor conveyed what, to me, is a great perspective for an entertainer:

“I’m in the people business, right? ‘Cause I’m in show business. So I’m in the people business, and I don’t wanna alienate anyone. I want everyone…to wanna watch me.”

Nevertheless, he’s open about his religion:

“If you follow me (on social media), though, I’m not afraid to talk about my faith. … I don’t know why it’s become so polarizing.”

In order to make a substantial point, Mario brought up a historical figure he admires:

“One of my favorite things about [Martin Luther King] is that he came from a place of faith. If he came around today, I think he’d be a polarizing figure. Or I don’t even know if he’d be able to achieve the things or the heights that he had because he was faith-based. Which is unfortunate. … I think a lot of problems that we have stem from not having that, unfortunately, that nuclear family and having that…foundation of a strong family or having that infrastructure that’s maybe faith-based.”

It is, I believe, a great question: How would MLK be characterized today?

Martin had flaws; but he appeared very sincere in his faith.

So does Mario.

As reported by The Daily Wire:

Mario Lopez has described himself as a Catholic and even renewed his Baptismal promise in the Jordan River while visiting Israel in 2018.

And he believes small children shouldn’t choose their gender identity. In Hollywood, are either of those still okay?

A New Zealand man’s been cleaning up in women’s powerlifting as of late, and a group of chicks sick of dudish domination is lobbying against it.

On Monday, the organization Speak Up for Women petitioned the Kiwi nation’s Olympic committee and sports minister to “defend women’s sport.”

Before announcing he was a woman while in his 30’s, Laurel Hubbard competed against guys. But putting in his sights people smaller, slower, and weaker really did his career up right somethin’ fierce: At the Pacific Games in Samoa earlier this month, of three events, he snagged two golds and a silver (here).

Laurel trounced Samoan runner-up and Commonwealth Games champion Feagaiga Stowers, much to some fans’ chagrin.

And now, he’s headed for Tokyo to wreak He-Man havoc on ladies from across the globe.

But Speak Up for Women spokeswoman Ani O’Brien says it’s baloney:

“[New Zealanders] know that males competing in women’s sport is blatantly unfair.”

The International Olympic Committee allows guys to join the gals so long as they can lower their testosterone below 10 nanomoles per liter for at least a year prior to competing.

But women’s testosterone is generally lower. And there’s this, as stated by Reuters:

[The simplicity of the testosterone stipulation] been criticized by some scientists, who say it does little to mitigate natural biological advantages enjoyed by male-born athletes, including bone and muscle density.

Powerlifting isn’t the only area of sports being manhandled. Kate Weatherly races women on a mountain bike; and since declaring himself female while in his teens, he’s become a national champion.

Despite his sexual advantage, the political peddler insists he’s “not winning by crazy margins and the anecdotal evidence does point to [him] having little to no advantage.”

Here’s a quote from Kate, for ya to think about all day:

“The opinions of scientists, although valid, are just that — opinions.”

Speak Up for Women is echoing the concerns of the UK’s Fair Play for Women, which recently posted to Twitter that sports organizations need to “wake up” in light of Laurel Hubbard’s Samoan sweep:

I’m a firm believer in freedom of personal expression; and if you truly believe the most right thing to do is change your name to Roger and buy some rouge, then I think you should give it a shot. As it seems to me, that should have nothing to do with cheating women out of their rightful athletic accomplishments.

But that’s exactly what’s happening, as the social Left continues to allow a misogynistic takeover.

Not good.
