President Trump Official White House Photo

During a speech at the Republican retreat on Thursday night in Baltimore, President Trump explained why he’s not a fan of new, energy-efficient lightbulbs.

In the clip below, he tells his audience, “The light’s no good. I always look orange.” And the crowd loved it.

Clearly, the President was joking. But that didn’t stop the Washington Post from fact-checking his comment.

Yes, really.

In an article entitled “Trump blamed energy-saving bulbs for making him look orange. Experts say probably not,” writer Rebecca Tan weighs in:

The comment drew laughs from the audience, though it was not immediately clear whether the president meant it in jest or in earnest. The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

It is true that bulbs have different light temperatures, but the effect this has on someone’s complexion is typically not very significant, said Jocelyn Augustino, a D.C.-based freelance photographer.

“When you go into a family’s house, just because there are tungsten lights, I don’t think you look around the room and think everyone looks orange,” she said.

In situations where the president is being photographed or filmed, professional photographers will know to adjust the white balance so that it is accurate to what is being seen in person, she added. “It’s video or photo 101.”

Tamzin Smith, a portrait photographer in Rockville, Md., pointed out that Trump’s orange complexion is visible even when he is photographed against white backgrounds. If bulbs were responsible for casting a warm glow, anything white in a photo of the president — including the background, a white shirt, or even his teeth — should also be orange.

“You can see that even when his teeth are white, his skin is orangey-red,” Smith said. “It’s definitely not the lighting.”

A clear case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

“Last Jedi” Director Rian Johnson Is Going Full “Orange Man Bad” In Latest Movie, and Critics Can’t Stop Raving

Westlake Legal Group d27ab6d4-4a93-4e8d-9cfd-409009571881-620x317 “Last Jedi” Director Rian Johnson Is Going Full “Orange Man Bad” In Latest Movie, and Critics Can’t Stop Raving Trump Derangement Syndrome Star Wars Social Justice Rian Johnson Politics KNIVES OUT Hollywood Front Page Stories Featured Story Entertainment donald trump democrats

Trump Derangement Syndrom has infected too many people, and tragically, a lot of those people are currently working in Hollywood where they’ve been put in charge of franchises we love. Specifically Star Wars.

Thanks to Disney putting in charge social justice advocates to make Star Wars movies, we’ve got what I can only describe as a dumpster fire where they’re burning everything we love about the galaxy far far away. Even Luky Skywalker himself (Mark Hamill) made it very clear that he hates the direction they’re going in, and former actors of beloved characters are telling stories of how they’re legacies are being thrown out like so much garbage.

Still, Rian Johnson, the man responsible for the much-despised “The Last Jedi” is letting his TDS all hang out in his latest film, which is being described as a direct insult to Trump supporters, according to The Daily Wire:

“KNIVES OUT is a fun ‘f*** you’ to rich white Trump voters, wrapped in a crafty Agatha Christie package. VERY pro-immigration. And none of this is subtle. Enjoy it in a crowd,” said film critic Tomris Laffly.

“Congrats to [Rian Johnson] for writing the most telenovela of films. KNIVES OUT is a total blast and a total takedown of privilege, gringos, and perceptions through a genre that’s very missed,” said film critic Yolanda Machado.

“KNIVES OUT is a ton of fun: a slippery, stylised murder mystery, littered with zingers, that also operates as a satire of Trump’s America. I also enjoyed the Baby Driver reference,” said Nick de Semlyen of Empire Magazine.

“KNIVES OUT is a total delight from start to finish. It’s also a scathing indictment of American greed in the Trump era. I’ll have more on that when the movie opens in November,” said Matt Goldberg of Collider.

“One of many things I love about Knives Out — it takes DIRECT aim at the MAGA crowd,” said Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com.

The story is a classic “whodunit” about a rich man being murdered and everyone in the house when it happened is a suspect. The family is reportedly filled with Trump supporters, including one character a critic described as a “mini Ben Shapiro.”

Critics are already lining up to give the movie rave reviews. In fact, it currently sports a 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes thanks to raving critics.

Not to make judgments before I’ve seen it myself, but this is usually bad news for the movie. As I wrote about Rotten Tomatoes ruling on Dave Chappelle’s “Sticks and Stones” comedy special, the higher a critic review, the less likely the audience will consider it a good movie. A perfect example is the documentary “Bring Down the House,” which lovingly tells the story of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

(READ: Dave Chappelle’s Audience Reviews Are In, And The People Made It Clear That The Critics Are Very Wrong)

It’s also a bad sign that many of the critics seem to be centered on the fact that this is a middle finger to Trump and his voters. The problem is that many people voted for Trump, right, left, and center. What’s more, this looks to repeat in 2020 due to the fact that Democrats have presented no one that most of America would consider a solid candidate.

If Democrats want to attract people back, insulting them is not the way to go.

Kira Davis: ‘Hurricane Nukes’ is Fake News and You Have to Be Pretty Deranged to Think Otherwise

Did you hear that Trump thinks we can nuke hurricanes? What an idiot! You can’t nuke a hurricane. Only a complete and total moron would believe that. How did we get a president who is so stupid? We’re doomed!!!!!!!!!!

You’ve probably seen some version of the above paragraph in your social media over the last few days. “Reports” from “sources” say that Trump told Homeland Security officials they should think about nuking hurricanes before they land on U.S. shores. Without any direct sourcing of the ridiculous claim, Axios completely O’Donnell’ed it and ran with the story anyway.

Naturally, President Trump denied the entire thing because despite the current narrative from the Not My President Trump Derangement Choir he is not a three year old child. In politics a lot of rumors fly around, and there are a lot of things that aren’t true but are yet believable. Then there are things that make the believer look like a complete moron. This would be one of those things.

Because seriously…you have to be a complete and utter moron to believe that Trump is such a complete and utter moron that he thinks you can – or should – nuke a hurricane. Trump is one of the richest men in the nation. If for no other reason than he needs to know how to build things that he can sell, Trump has at least a basic knowledge of physics and science…at the very least as much as the rest of us have. You have to be completely consumed with rage against Trump to believe he actually thinks that.

George Bush was the dumbest man alive until Trump took office. Now people love GWB. They see pictures of him laughing with the Obamas and think of his presidency with nostalgia, even though during that time those same people were calling him Literally HitlerWestlake Legal Group 2122 Kira Davis: ‘Hurricane Nukes’ is Fake News and You Have to Be Pretty Deranged to Think Otherwise Trump Derangement Syndrome Trump pence nuke Morons hurricane Front Page Stories Featured Story fake news . People actually believed he knew nothing about anything, but few people would say that about him today.

It is astounding that no one recognizes this pattern of Derangement Syndrome, but I guess an addict never really thinks they’re addicted until it’s too late.

No, Trump did not seriously suggest nuking hurricanes. I can’t promise he didn’t make a joke to that effect because if you read his timeline you’ll see Trump is a surprisingly funny guy (or he hires funny people to write his jokes). But because I’m not a moron, I can promise you Donald Trump doesn’t really want to drop nukes into a hurricane.

I can’t tell what is worse – that this is even a story or that a great majority of media outlets have devoted significant word counts to “debunking” it. This is 2019, people. It’s time to grow up a little bit.

Here’s Mike Pence confirming what those of us who are not morons already know.

Unhinged Streisand: ‘Send in the Clowns’ remix all about Trump

Westlake Legal Group 445e5018-3126-4ead-81ae-e685ad50f7b4 Unhinged Streisand: ‘Send in the Clowns’ remix all about Trump Trump Derangement Syndrome The Blog song President Trump nyc Madison Square Garden Barbra Streisand

Barbra Streisand broke a 13-year absence from the stage when she returned to Madison Square Garden in New York City Saturday for a concert performance complete with lots of other celebrities and politicians in the audience to cheer her on. Her performance included some new material and even a remix of ‘Send in the Clowns’. The twist is that Ms. Streisand is so Trump-obsessed that she turned her appearance into a political rally.

It’s no secret that Streisand is not a Trump supporter. Her tweets against him all but drip venom. She has a long history of publicly criticizing Republican presidents and Republicans in general. So, when she used her concert in New York as a vehicle to attack President Trump, she was in her element. She even warned the few Republicans in the audience to cover their ears as she launched into a new rendition of ‘Send in the Clowns’, complete with a photo unveiled of the White House under a circus tent and Trump’s 2016 Person of the Year award from Time magazine photo altered to show his face in clown make-up. The photo carried the wording “Clown of the Year”.

We know that the majority of the concert-goers were Democrats because, in an unusual move for a singer, she asked the audience, “How many Democrats are in the room tonight?” It is reported that only a few people booed as she sang.

The query came after a rendition of “Send in the Clowns.” Streisand had a sly smile on her face after finishing the song, telling the audience, “We were going to fool around with another version of this. But we decided not to do it because it’s not nice.” But once she had established that the sold-out arena was largely populated by cheering Democrats (and a few Republicans, to whom she jokingly advised, “Cover your ears for a couple of minutes”), she proceeded to reprise the number, this time with very different lyrics.

“He says he’s rich/ Maybe he’s not,” she sang in her usual gorgeous voice, to the melody of Sondheim’s classic. “Until he releases his returns, who can be sure?/ Who is this clown?

“Something’s amiss, I don’t approve/ Now that he runs the free world, where can we move?

“This is no farce, it’s not just smoke/ Is this the art of the deal, or some awful joke?/ You’ve got to admit, this fraudulent twit, is so full of….”

“I can’t say it, I can’t say it,” Streisand laughed, as she cut herself off. The audience erupted into cheers and a standing ovation (and a handful of people loudly making their displeasure known) as a mocked-up picture of President Donald Trump wearing clown make-up appeared on the giant video screen behind her.

Plenty of well-known Democrats were in the audience, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, Al Sharpton, New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, and former New York City Mayor David Dinkins. She described her pal Sharpton as someone who’s bearing “the brunt of Trump’s wrath these days”, and thanked Nadler for “fighting to uncover the truth and for all you’re doing to protect our democracy.” She saved her most glowing praise for the Clintons – “two people I deeply admire and am proud to call friends.” Poor Babs still isn’t doing well with the fact that she didn’t get to sing at Hillary’s presidential inauguration in 2016. She was sure to remind the audience that she sang at Bill Clinton’s inauguration. Some of the entertainment world celebrities included Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Rosie O’Donnell, and Sally Field. Streisand’s long-time friend, fashion designer Donna Karan was there, too.

“A great president needs the compassion that would never let children by separated from their parents,” the singer declared. “A great president tries to inspire us and in times of distress make our nation heal.” She never mentioned Trump by name, but the comparison was unmistakable.

Turning to Hillary, Streisand went on. “In addition to being a magnificent first lady and secretary of state, you gave our allies confidence and our foes unambiguous clarity,” she said. “Needless to say, three years ago, I was greatly hoping to sing at your inauguration.”

She admitted to the audience that she has no self-control when it comes to commenting about politics. At the age of 77 years old, no one should expect her to mellow out after decades of partisan political attacks. She incorporates politics into her music concerts because she can. She doesn’t suffer a backlash from any conservatives who may be in the audience. Her performances are sold-out.

She lectured about climate change. Then she lectured about the need for truth and diplomacy. Streisand proves the point that there is no bigger hypocrite than an aging limousine liberal. She’s all about peace and love, you know.

“We’re living in divided times, but I think there are some things we can agree on,” Streisand commented during her encore. “The antidote to lying is truth. The remedy to war is diplomacy. And the solution to hate is love.” She then proceeded to sing “What the World Needs Now Is Love” as the audience whipped out their cellphones to provide what another, very different Republican president would have described as “a thousand points of light.”

Her audience laps up her political rants interspersed with musical interludes. At her age, she has nothing to lose. There are no consequences for Streisand, as she’s in her retirement years. Streisand acknowledged the ‘Clown’ parody is meant to be funny but isn’t. Her very unoriginal message is Trump lies.

“You know, that was meant to be a funny song,” she added. “But what’s going on just isn’t very funny, because it would take me all night long to recite 11,000 lies. You know what I mean? But there’s a line by Oscar Wilde that kind of describes this person. The line is: ‘He’s a man who knows the price of everything, but the value of nothing.’”

Good thing her good friends Bill and Hillary don’t have reputations as lying politicians. That would make Streisand’s words ironic, right?

This YouTube video is from the Rolling Stone story:

If President Trump wins re-election in 2020, the mental breakdowns from both coasts will be epic. The unhinged reactions we saw in 2016 will look like just a warm-up act.

‘Morning Joe’ Crew Compares Trump to Mussolini [WATCH]

Westlake Legal Group MSNBC-620x423 ‘Morning Joe’ Crew Compares Trump to Mussolini [WATCH] Trump Derangement Syndrome Trump mussolini Morning Joe Media Joe Scarborough Front Page Stories Featured Story Donny Deutsch

‘Morning Joe’ convened a giant panel on Thursday to break down the Democrat debates. Unsurprisingly, the conversation devolved into “orange bad man” quite quickly. Host and struggling musician Joe Scarborough compared Trump to “Fat Bastard” from the Austin Powers movies. He was so tickled by his own “genius” that he could not stop droning on about it until he was sure every person understood the brilliance of his comparison, and when it seemed there were some people on the panel who didn’t get it or didn’t think it was funny he didn’t let that stop him. Scarborough continued to beat a dead movie character until Donnie Deutsch screamed “Uncle!” and acknowledged the reference.

Although the topic was the debate stage, Deutsch could not resist the urge to compare Trump to a totalitarian despot. It’s become a fetish at this point.

You used the ‘Austin Powers’ rather light metaphor. I with all seriousness, the Mussolini, when Mussolini is standing up on the terrace like this, with a face like that, to me, the parallels with Trump in terms of that self-satisfaction at the chaos he’s creating, the parallels are stunning there. You know what’s so ironic? Coming off of, to me, pretty poor debates both nights for the Democrats, if Trump stood up and basically talked about the economy, talked about, ‘Hey, by the way, two benchmark Democratic strongholds, criminal reform and immigration, by the way, they brought up that Obama deported more people than I ever did. By the way, they were arguing about critical reform. I passed the most comprehensive Criminal Prison Reform Act.’ Stronghold Democratic benchmarks that he could own, of course he doesn’t go there.

Hysterical LITERALLY HITLERWestlake Legal Group 2122 ‘Morning Joe’ Crew Compares Trump to Mussolini [WATCH] Trump Derangement Syndrome Trump mussolini Morning Joe Media Joe Scarborough Front Page Stories Featured Story Donny Deutsch ing aside, Deutsch’s statement is tragically indicative of the current state of the mainstream press. Although their job is to report on the mechanics of government (among other things) they are so feverish with Trump Derangement Syndrome that they can only report on what they think he said instead of what he is saying. If they actually ever listened to Trump instead of just reading their own headlines in one never-ending circle jerk they would know that he is constantly tweeting and talking about all those things. Every chance he gets he talks about how great his economy is, how he’s worked to pass criminal reform and done so successfully and how Obama was worse on all those policies than he is. Trump loves to talk about his own accomplishments…why Deutsch and company don’t know that is perplexing since they’re always complaining about how egotistical he is.

Do you know who else ignored facts in order to form their own narratives, Donnie?

Mussolini.

TRANSCRIPT (video below):

SCARBOROUGH: “Did you see the Austin Powers movies? He reminded me at times of the Fat Bastard, it’s a character. It’s a character in ‘Austin Powers’. And he’s sniffing and looking around, he’s saying, ‘Thank you, thank you.’ I thought he was going to say ‘Get into my stomach’ at one point. He’s just really starting to take on this role of Dear Leader. And you can see it last night more than usual. He’s amping it up. He’s amping his audiences up, amping up his racial attacks and the demagoguery. This is a guy — he is, as David Brooks said this morning in ‘The New York Times,’ he’s a force, and the only way the Democrats are going to beat him is with an equal force.”
GEIST: “Well, I mean, we have become so numb to the way that Donald Trump behaves. And when you watch a rally like that, it’s worth pausing to recognize that the President of all the United States and all of these cities is trashing the cities over which he presides, whether it’s Los Angeles or San Francisco or Baltimore. But he knows politically he’s not going to win those places, so he’s made a calculation he can go after that to stoke up the people in that crowd and stoke up the people who voted for him last time. I think it’s also worth mentioning, Yamiche, how far the bar has been lowered for Donald Trump. When everyone was crossing their fingers and saying, ‘Let’s see if he asks the public, the group in front of him, or encourages the group in front of him to chant ‘Send them back’ about the United States citizens, about United States congresswomen. And when he does don’t that, everyone says, ‘Oh, good, okay, at least he didn’t do that.’ That’s the president of the United States and people are acting grateful that he didn’t let the crowd chant ‘Send them back.’”
BRZEZINSKI: “Good point.”
ALCINDOR: “In some ways this is what has made Trump to be able to survive scandals and controversies, because right when you think he’ll hit the lowest, President Trump pulls back just a little and says, ‘You know what? I won’t go for the racist chant of send her back. Instead, what I’ll do is make light for several minutes of the suffering of families and of American citizens all across this country in places like Baltimore and Chicago, which happened to have majority black cities and centers. But then not make — not talk about the suffering that’s going on in the state that he’s in, which is Ohio. I just came back from Ohio. There’s a place called Masonry, Ohio, and it’s nicknamed Misery, Ohio because people there are suffering so much between economic devastation and drug overdoses. And the President didn’t say anything about that. Abby Phillip of CNN had a really smart tweet, she said, ‘Can you imagine a president going on an extended riff about the opioid crisis and overdoses in rural areas across this country?’ And you probably can’t. And it’s true, you probably can’t imagine the President focusing on the counties that I visited, which are 95% white, 91% white in a lot of areas that went for him overwhelmingly in Ohio. He doesn’t want to talk about the struggles those places are facing because a lot of them are run by Republicans.”
SCARBOROUGH: “Yeah. When he’s walking around like that, Donny Deutsch, if I’m a little kid, I’m worried, I’m just worried. ‘Get in my stomach.’ It’s an ‘Austin Powers’ joke, we’ll show you the clips later. So, Donny, Jonathan Lemire and the Associated Press wrote an article this past week about how Donald Trump keeps lowering the bar. That every time you think he has gone as low as he can possibly go, which is of course over three years, has been a great deal. Even the most cynical White House observers before he started attacking Elijah and started attacking these women of color in Congress thought that Trump had gone as low as he could go. As Jonathan reports, a lot of reporters and people inside the White House were shocked that actually the frantic sort of management lifestyle has become even more detached and even more dangerous.”
BRZEZINSKI: “Yes.”
SCARBOROUGH: “We don’t know where the bottom is. We do know that he continues to shock by the day.”
DEUTSCH: “You used the ‘Austin Powers’ rather light metaphor. The scary thing for me, and Joe, you and I talked about this last week, as him being a transactional ideologue, is he’s going to keep lowering it, keep digging, digging into the base, and then some time around April or May of next year pivot and start acting somewhat normal. And to your whole premise of the segment, that because —“
BRZEZINSKI: “This is normal.”
DEUTSCH: “So, so low. That when he starts just giving a Normandy speech and talks about why don’t we relook at health care a little bit, people are go wow. A mad irony that worries me. He’s going to keep going there. I think I should’s the — I think it’s top it is, I think he’s going to dig and dig and then Pivot and then be tough to beat.”
SCARBOROUGH: “He’s not proven himself capable of being disciplined for more than a day or two. He can give the Normandy speech and then give an interview on Fox News with the crosses of the dead from D-Day behind him and launch the most inflammatory, terrible political attacks against people in the United States. So he can’t — he’s incapable of doing that. I will say the thing that last night’s rally showed — it was a great — I think it was a great comparison with what the Democrats were doing. It showed here is a guy that strutted across the stage. He was — he was being a demagogue. Picking at racial resentments and then you go like the previous two nights you have Democrats going, you know, I have looked at subsection three of page 487 of your Medicare for all plan and I fear that after the third deductible that the coverage may not be as satisfactory if you are in Medicare zone three instead of Medicare zone one. Of course you have to weigh that with a Brookings — I could go because the Democrats went on all night.”
BRZEZINSKI: “They did.”
SCARBOROUGH: “They never — there’s not a Democrat on the stage that understands how to take it to a higher level, that understands the bigger things. I think most importantly, something that Trump understood from the very beginning they need to get you don’t have to play by the rules. If CNN or MSNBC sets up a question to say, senator Harris, Joe Biden is a jerk and he thinks you’re a jerk. How do you respond? You know what? They don’t have to play by the rules. They can go I think Joe Biden has served this country well. Very proud of everything he’s done and I stand with Joe Biden. He stands with me. Now let’s talk about the man who is changing America for the worst. Donald Trump. They don’t have to take the bait, but they always do. And there doesn’t seem to be a Democrat that understands where we are right now in history against this man.”
KAY: “Yeah. I was laughing, so I’m glad — I got lost in the whole health care debate too. At one point I was thinking do I not know my health care policy enough, if I don’t understand this, I’m covering this every day, what are the voters making of this? You’re right. Look, if they’re going to try to go high as a party in a sense these debates are certainly not the best opportunity to take on Barack Obama as you have been saying, Joe, over the last couple of days the most popular living Democrat at the moment and they don’t need to do that game of taking on each other. That’s why that second night in particular of the debates was so dissatisfying and why it makes the field look so weak. I struggled by the end of that three hour long second debate to see Joe Biden up against Donald Trump on a debate stage. I mean, Donald Trump will change the facts, ignore the facts, reverse himself. But he’ll do it with the phenomenal bluster and confidence the whole time through. And against that if Joe Biden with the nominee were to put in the performance he was looking tired and not in control. The only reason that Biden is ahead in the pack is because people think he can win that belief can disappear pretty fast. Once it does what are the Democrats left with?”

Celebs rise to push back on Bette Midler’s deranged tweets

Westlake Legal Group 2f02b157-affe-4d53-95f3-cb1114b8ff2e Celebs rise to push back on Bette Midler’s deranged tweets twitter Trump Derangement Syndrome The Blog President Trump Norm MacDonald Kirstie Alley Bette Midler

The tide is not turning in any noticeable way yet, but maybe there is a glimmer of hope emerging from Hollywood. Some in the entertainment business have recently pushed back against their peers who are still suffering from severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Case in point: Bette Midler came under fire from two well-known celebrities last week over some particularly coarse and crude tweets.

Comedian Norm Macdonald responded to Bette Midler’s personal attack of former Senator Al Franken’s accuser, LeeAnn Tweeden. Not only did Midler deliberately use a salacious photo of Tweeden from back in her days as a lingerie model, but she did so to slam her as “right-wing”. Oh, the horror!

The photo is not safe for work, but you can see it at this link. Suffice it to say that Midler would erupt in righteous outrage if Tweeden was a progressive and conservatives attempted to use Tweeden’s modeling career to shame her over a sexual harassment allegation. As it was, though, Midler was promoting the New Yorker piece about Al Franken. The piece was seen as Franken’s first step into vindicating himself, now that some time has passed. Midler, however, fell into the trap of shaming the victim. Remember, LeeAnn Tweeden was asleep when Franken was captured with his hands on her breasts in the photo that went viral. She was in protective gear on a USO tour with Franken.

Macdonald called Midler out for what she did, which was sounding like a rape apologist. Tweeden wasn’t wearing lingerie when Franken assaulted her. Macdonald went on to describe the #MeToo movement as separate from due process. Midler unwittingly proved that we are to believe all women except when it is inconvenient for the Democrat Party.

Trump supporter Rep. Steve Smith countered with the actual photo that led to Franken’s resignation:

Ms. Midler wasn’t letting up, though. She tweeted a photo from the Trump rally last week and noted the “blackground” – African-American men in the background. She pondered how much they were paid to be there.

Actress Kirstie Alley responded to that one. “We get it Bette, you hate Trump.”

Ms. Alley has spoken up in the past about the demonization of people with a different political opinion. The truth is, Midler and her ilk in the entertainment world not only dehumanize President Trump, they do the same to Trump supporters and conservatives in general.

“I understand preferring Democrat over GOP or vice versa. What I don’t understand is why people feel the need to say hideous things demonizing citizens of either party,” she wrote in January 2018.

Kirstie Alley endorsed Trump in 2016 before the Access Hollywood tape surfaced. Then she un-endorsed him. Since then she hasn’t made headlines one way or the other on Trump.

Alley has been vocal about her conservative views in the past and, in April 2016, endorsed Trump on social media. By that October, however, she walked back that support in the wake of the “Access Hollywood” tape on which the presidential candidate was heard making obscenity-laced boasts about groping women.

Midler’s Twitter feed is a treasure trove of examples of Trump Derangement Syndrome at its strongest. I’ll end with a tweet that was posted that perfectly shows that self-awareness if hard. Midler’s had quite a week, that’s for sure.

The Average American Simply Does Not Care About the Mueller Mess

The Democrats are holding hearings on the Mueller Report and it’s as much political theater as one would expect. Clips and analysis are available right here at this site. Needless to say, the testimony was heavy on grandstanding and light on new revelations. Perhaps the only people really even watching it are politicos and commentators. The Democrats in Congress surely know that the American people are not very moved by the details of the Mueller investigation. Why would they continue to draw out this media circus for very little public gain?

The answer, of course is that they are trying to create an unearned buzz around the Mueller report because this is what they’ve pinned their impeachment hopes on for two years now. To let it die is to let go of the last vestiges of the argument. They need Americans to care…but the problem is, most of us don’t.

The Mueller report has been out for months – dissected, poured over, pulled apart, analyzed incessantly. But the average American isn’t holding their breath over it all. Remember when people all over New York City took the day off work and crowded into pubs and restaurants at 8 a.m. just to watch James Comey “destroy” President Trump with his testimony?

There are no “Mueller testimony drink specials” today.

Americans are burned out on the promises of the Left to take down Trump. From the moment it became clear Trump would be the next president, left-wing politicians and progressive media have been screaming that there must have been some cheating involved. No way could it be that they got the concerns and requests of the average American voter so woefully wrong. Trump must have cheated because President Hillary Clinton was all but promised to us.

The Washington Post dramatically changed their motto to “Democracy Dies in the Dark”; the Women’s March popped up and promised us they would #Resist the president until he was driven out of office.

The Comey investigation became a lynchpin of Democrat resistance, and when the report of his findings was released we were assured that this would be the most damning thing to come out about a sitting president in the history of this nation. A show hearing ensued and as discussed above, boys and girls in the coastal cities excitedly took a day off work to sit in bars and watch the downfall of the Orange Bad Man.

It landed with a thud…as those of us who actually read Comey’s pre-released testimony already knew it would.

Rape claims against Trump…thud.

Kavanaugh hearings that turned into an indictment of Trump’s temperament and the effectiveness as a leader.

Thud.

Rape claims from unstable columnists.

Thud.

Soundbite after soundbite after soundbite of edited, unsavory comments by Trump.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

The nightly news keeps promising us that Trump’s days are coming to an end, and yet the promise never arrives. In fact, Trump just keep polling higher and higher while the economy picks up steam and day-to-day life seems a bit better for most Americans when they’re not using social media as their gauge.

Imagine being an average voter – not particularly informed but you show up for the big elections and hope for the best the rest of the time – and feeling terrible that Trump won. Imagine you’ve been promised by the politicos you most respect that they would not only remove Trump from office, but they would make the case compellingly and quickly. Then imagine getting yourself psyched up for the other shoe to drop only to me met with the sound of that “THUD” after every promise.

For over two years now the legacy media has been bombarding us with promises that THIS IS THE THING that will finally bring Trump down – the “this” just keeps changing.

Americans – especially those who lean left – are exhausted by the promises. The Democrat party has mercilessly painted Trump as a white supremacist (never before he took office with an (R) behind his name, though of course), a bully, an abuser and Literally HitlerWestlake Legal Group 2122 The Average American Simply Does Not Care About the Mueller Mess Trumps Trump Derangement Syndrome Show Trial Mueller Investigation mueller hearings Front Page Stories Featured Story exhaustion elections . It has been a nonstop festival of fear.

If I’m a faithful Democrat voter and I’ve been hearing about how evil Trump is every day without ceasing, I’m wondering just what the hell is so hard about saving the country from Literally HitlerWestlake Legal Group 2122 The Average American Simply Does Not Care About the Mueller Mess Trumps Trump Derangement Syndrome Show Trial Mueller Investigation mueller hearings Front Page Stories Featured Story exhaustion elections ? If this is a state of emergency, why are we not storming the gates, arresting him and restoring liberty? If it’s that bad, what are we waiting for?

Americans are weary. They want a smoking gun and the Democrats just keep showing up with hot dogs for the weenie roast. There is no smoking gun, no recorded conversation where we’ll hear Trump admit he’s just been running a hoax this whole time, that he’s Putin’s secret lover and that the moon landing was faked. Everything must be insinuated, interpreted and filtered and Americans are loosing their patience for such things. We’re over two years into this presidency. If no one is going to fire their weapon then most people need to move on with their lives.

The Mueller hearings are a show trial – an expensive ploy to glean two or three soundbites for the news. They are not for the benefit of the people. The people are growing tired of rage, which is dangerous because after rage comes boredom. Imagine what politics will look like when every single person in America is simply too bored to care.

Screen grab via WSB-TV.

There must be something in the water in Georgia these days.

There’s been the escalating she said-he said war between a Democratic stage legislator and a Cuban-American Democrat over heated words that were exchanged at a Publix grocery store express lane last Friday.

But there’s also another crazy story coming from Georgia involving a woman who hated a Cobb County man’s Trump 2020 display so much that she drove her SUV through a barbed wire fence to vandalize it at 1 in the morning last Monday.

WSB-TV reports:

[Property owner George] Bentley’s security cameras captured a car driving through the barbed wire fence and then knocking over a bright-colored cube around 1 a.m. Monday.

The video then shows a woman standing in front of the camera to spray-paint the Trump sign.

Bentley and his girlfriend, Dee Corson, discovered what happened when they woke up later in the day.

“That’s pretty strong for it to bother you something like this,” Corson said.

Unfortunately for the vandal, she couldn’t get her car back through the barbed wire fence:

They also made another discovery: a car left behind.

Video shows the woman struggled to get back through the fence, so she left the car there.

“If the car hadn’t been here with the tag on it, and we just had video of the person, it would have been really tough,” Bentley said.

The car led police to Azaria Moore, 20, who is charged with criminal trespass and failure to report a crash.

Moore didn’t talk on camera but told the news outlet that, if convicted, she might have to face up to five years in prison.

Watch the video report below, which includes a short clip of Moore driving through the field and spray-painting the sign:

You know what they say about karma, right?

Maddow to Rapinoe: Will You Run For President?

Westlake Legal Group maddow-620x344 Maddow to Rapinoe: Will You Run For President? World Cup USNWT Trump Derangement Syndrome Rapinoe maddow Front Page Stories Culture

Did you ever in your life think you’d hear the name of one female soccer player as much as you have in the last two weeks?

Megan Rapinoe is everywhere – hero, traitor, icon, athlete…whatever your opinion of her there are few places one can escape her presence these days.

After winning the World Cup, Rapinoe has been making the media round, answering all the same questions about Trump and hate and Trump and politics and Trump and more Trump and also Trump. On Tuesday she appeared with fellow lesbian icon Rachel Maddow and Maddow had a very pointed question for the soccer superstar…

Would she consider running for president?

Maddow: Public Policy Polling literally did a poll today…

Rapinoe: *laughing* Oh no!

Maddow: …which is you versus Trump in a presidential contest and you beat him by a point.

Oh well, we all know how the public polling worked out for Maddow’s predictions last time!

Rapinoe laughed, saying her girlfriend had already warned her to slow her roll on this one. While she didn’t seem to rule out anything, she did go on to talk about the need to move beyond just words and take action.

On that point, I couldn’t agree more and while I completely disagree with her on just about everything political I have a certain amount of respect for someone who is willing to put their money where their mouth is instead of just running their mouth.

Rapinoe went on to say that despite all of the complaints about equal pay, she is grateful for what the U.S. Soccer Federation already does in their support and funding for women’s soccer. She encouraged fans to support the team by buying jerseys, showing up to games and becoming season ticket holders – which seems a bit…ironic. She wants equal pay but recognizes more people need to buy what they’re selling.

Trump Derangement Syndrome Went MAD This Weekend

Westlake Legal Group 60069986_10101747073697721_3311924924909617152_n-620x335 Trump Derangement Syndrome Went MAD This Weekend Trump Derangement Syndrome Trump derangement Pete Buttigieg Mad Magazine Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump Allow Media Exception Alfred E. Neuman

On Saturday, President Donald Trump called Mayor Pete Buttigieg – a Democrat who is running for the Democratic nomination in 2020 – “Alfred E. Neuman.” The Democratic candidate’s response was that he had to search Google to understand the reference.

That set off what had to be the dumbest outrage I have ever seen on social media since… I dunno, something last week? Anyway, you had a bunch of people who decided to take the opportunity to bash Trump for making an “out of date” reference. Apparently, pop culture references have an expiration date, which is unfortunate because I have a whole set list of 80s love ballad jokes for a rainy day.

These trash takes on Trump being out of touch were not just found on the progressive left, but also among those who consider themselves of the right.

A news flash for Tim Miller and the others who believe this: Alfred E. Neuman still appears in MAD Magazine, which you can still subscribe to in 2019. When Pete is positive 37 years old.

Look, I get it. Y’all don’t like Trump. I don’t much care for the guy either, but there are two issues with this particular outrage. The first issue is that it’s a stupid outrage. You don’t look good by being pissed about a harmless reference like MAD Magazine. What on earth kind of political victory do you think you’re getting if you are trying to dunk on someone making this reference?

Trump made a joke. It’s not a bad joke, either. It’s not offensive, and it’s certainly not going to move the needle one way or another in the polling. You know what might, though? Losing your mind over this reference. Making this some sort of controversy. At a time when everything is supposed to outrage us, crap like this will make sure nothing outrages us. It’s the dumbest version of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” in existence.

The other issue I have with this outrage is that Trump wasn’t wrong. Hell, even MAD Magazine acknowledged that Trump was right. Look at their new Twitter bio.

It’s funny and it’s true. Look at the image at the top of the page and tell me you don’t see the resemblance.

I don’t understand how we got to the point where we have to parse every single word out of a politician’s mouth for a political point to make on it. There isn’t anything to dunk on here.

This is why the phrase “Trump Derangement Syndrome” exists, folks. Trump calls Buttigieg “Alfred E. Neuman,” and instead of moving on, the political world stopped for much longer than it actually needed to and had a discussion on it. And the people who don’t like Trump and always look for a reason to point out when he’s wrong jumped at the chance to make a point here, in a statement where there is no point to be made.

I’ve criticized the President frequently (and a large portion of the active comments section here, if you ask them, will both verify that and immediately question why the hell I’m still even here), but even I stop when I see this particular outrage and wonder why we’re having this discussion. But, that’s what Trump Derangement is. It is a compulsion to find something about Trump to complain about. There is no valid policy to debate here, and there’s certainly nothing offensive about the comment. The mere fact that he said anything at all, however, is enough to make these kinds of people lose their minds.

If you honestly think you’re helping your cause out, I’d suggest logging off for a few days and try yoga or something. It’s way healthier than obsessing over this type of thing.
