Trump Takes a Moment to Tell Us What the Most Heartbreaking Part of His Job Is

Doubtless, President Donald Trump has a tough job as leader of the free world, but he took a moment on Wednesday to tell the press what the hardest part of his job is.

According to him, the most difficult part is writing letters to the families of fallen soldiers, and even attending the moments where the bodies of soldiers are brought home from overseas in a coffin with an American flag draped over it, and hearing the screams and sobs of the parents.

“The hardest thing I have to do, by far, much harder than the witch hunt, is signing letters to parents of soldiers that have been killed,” Trump said. “And it’s not only that — in areas where there’s not a lot of upside, if there’s any upside at all, and in many cases, it’s only downside.”

“The hardest thing I have to do is signing those letters. That’s the hardest thing I have to do. And each letter is different,” Trump continued. “We make each letter different. And last week, I signed five of them for Afghanistan; one in Iraq; one in Syria, from two weeks ago. And sometimes I call the parents. Sometimes I see the parents. I go to Dover, when I can, but it’s — it’s so devastating for the parents that — you know. It’s so devastating when they bring that boy or young woman out of the back of those big, powerful planes in a coffin, and the parents are there.”

“And then I see it. And I see people that were smiling, “Oh, Mr. President, thank you for being here. Thank you for being here.” And I think they’re doing great. And then, twenty minutes later, we’ll be outside when that big plane pulls up and that door comes down, and they are walking the coffin with their boy inside this coffin with an American flag over the top. And they’re walking that coffin down this ramp,” said Trump.

“And I’ve seen people that I thought were really incredible the way they were ta- — I didn’t even understand how they could take it so well — scream, like I’ve never seen anything before,” he continued. “Sometimes they’ll run to the coffin. They’ll break through military barriers. They’ll run to the coffin and jump on top of the coffin. Crying mothers and wives. Crying desperately.”

This is likely a move included in his reasons to stop the war in Syria and withdraw our troops, and many may see this as an attempt to use an emotional argument to gain public opinion for his side. Regardless, I can’t imagine having to be in his position and do that kind of thing.

Whether you think Trump is right or wrong on this, having to do this kind of thing can’t be easy on anyone.

Syria Withdrawal Part IV: Conclusion-Way Ahead

The first three parts of this series outlined President Trump’s decision to quickly and forthrightly disengage from U.S. Military operations in Syria. They also generally described the current situation in this particular area of interest.

Yesterday morning, I had the opportunity to call in to the David Webb show on Sirius XM, where Webb had an interesting guest, Dr. William J. Parker, President and CEO of the East West Institute, a non profit that specializes in international conflict resolution. After a brief introduction by Webb, Dr. Parker gave an outstanding overview of all the players, their objectives and the current situation on the ground. He actually reiterated many of the points covered in Parts I, II & III of this series. He even added one I was holding for today’s piece, the effects of the now 103 year old, Sikes-Picot agreement. The Sikes-Picot agreement, is the post World War I poster boy for the Western Powers’ belief, that drawing a straight line on a map without regard for tribe, nationality or religion, couldn’t possibly have adverse consequences over a century later. More on this further down.

Mr Webb and I had the opportunity for a quick chat after Dr. Parker signed off. After I reviewed the main points of tension, I asked him a direct question:

As President Webb, what do you see as your desired endstate 5 years from now? We have to establish a desired result and then Of course work backwards to produce a plan to get us there.

His answer surprised me:

Nothing. We need to let it play out and react to events as they happen.

Webb went on to say like his guest Dr. Parker, that the last thing we want to do, is emulate Sikes-Picot and start drawing arbitrary lines again. Honestly, I get that and agree. Mr. Webb’s response was clearly focused on the ugly lessons learned from Sikes-Picot—imposing our view of the world on other folks and the ugly results that still cause issues over a century later. Nobody looking at the mess today’s Middle East has become, could possibly argue with that—and I certainly won’t.

However, I’m not sure about a wait then react process. If we cannot imagine what we want the endstate to look like, how can we even dream of getting there? Having said that, we also know in the real world, no matter how altruistic our objective may be and how hard we try, we can likely count on…less.

In the world the United States would like to see, all of our international associates, friends (Great Britain & the rest of the 5 I’s) and allies, long term or of convenience (Turkey & the Kurds) all like each other. However in the real World we live in, we need to settle for something less, like the relationship between Israel and Egypt. For quite some time following the Camp David Accords, their relationship was often described as, “formally correct.” At that time, both sides cordially despised each other, but had come to the realization (Thank You Anwar Sadat) that they could indeed (and needed to) cooperate without killing each other. Today, Egypt-Israel cooperation, although not at the “5 I’s,” level, is far more friendly, especially when dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood. The question then becomes, how to we achieve this kind of relationship between Turkey and the Kurds, PKK, Syrian and Iraqi? What would this endstate look like?

Seemingly opposite of Mr Webb’s “Let it play out” and react as necessary option, Richard Fernandez penned this, emphasis mine

With the Arab Spring and political opposition to OIF ending the hope of “bringing democracy to the Middle East,” some sort of repartition of the region, a redrawing of boundaries, seems the sole alternative.

With Turkey’s entry, we are perhaps witnessing the de facto partition of Syria with Kurdish borders dependent — if any are preserved — on how far the U.S. will pull back and what line they are willing to defend. But a stand-fast solution would require generational political will and boots on the ground. It will entail confronting a NATO ally and it won’t be free. The question is whether the public is willing to pay.

If America midwifes a Kurdistan, it must see it through, for it may only be popular in the first weeks. Kurdistan could be a “future Israel,” whose origin will be America’s eternal crime in future Left-wing history. As Brandon Weichert noted, partitions create centuries-long enmities.

What Fernandez, Weichert and my radio mentor David Webb focus on, is the word, “force.” Fernandez even posits a requirement for American “Boots On The Ground.” Sikes-Picot was all about white Europeans deciding what was good for the “bloody wogs”** and forcing it down their throats, regardless of tribe, religion or familial association. This time around, it could be different—by just removing the element of force and instead, asking for buy in.

Positing an endstate where the Kurds—all three major groups, have a place to call home, is a start. However, Sikes-Picot (and David Webb) has shown us that forcibly carving out territory from other folks’ property is a nonstarter, fostering hate, discontent and violence for decades. The way to go about this, is to involve all the stakeholders…except of course, ISIS, Russia and Iran. And Yes—that means President Bashar Al Assad of Syria. Stupidly wanting to depose him, was what got us into this mess in the first place.

Syria, Turkey, and the 3 major Kurdish groups, with the good offices of the United States, could with some effort and recognition of all parties’ interests, birth a voluntary agreement. This could not only to provide the Kurds an internationally recognized homeland, but also form a regional coalition that could totally defeat ISIS. This might not be as hard as it would appear at first blush. The two actors that would be the least difficult to move on this, would seem to be Iraq and Syria. In Iraq, the Kurds already govern their semi (defacto, totally) autonomous territory. In Syria, President Assad at this point, exerts little to no control over his Northeastern territory and has very little leverage. An agreement that helps keep him in power and lessens his reliance on Russian occupation assistance would almost certainly ease the transfer of some of his territory to help build a Kurdish homeland.

That leaves Turkey. This series began recognizing that Turkey is the key to this entire region for the United States. It will be an especially difficult partner in this effort. The United States needs Turkey as a loyal NATO partner, more than President Erdogan needs the U.S. President Erdogan’s hostile attitude notwithstanding, PKK terrorist operations make it difficult for the 80 percent of the Turkish population who are not Kurds, to support any form of rapprochement.

The keys to moving forward here, are the Iraqi and Syrian Kurd territories. If Erdogan can over a 2-3 year period, be convinced that those territories and their Kurdish populaces are not providing support for the PKK, instead are assisting in running ISIS and other terror groups to ground, then he could possibly be persuaded to negotiate a small Turkish contribution to the new territory of Kurdistan.

Dr. Parker and David Webb are correct. We cannot jam this down anyone’s throat…except perhaps President Assad’s. However, if we can convince the right stakeholders that they could benefit from this, then we might avoid the mistake of Sikes-Picot.

This is just one option. There are almost certainly other ideas out there that have a greater likelihood of success. The purpose of this series, is to move our thinking in a different direction than one that requires a continual hemorrhage of American blood and treasure. Ultimately, it comes down to…

“The hardest thing I do, is write letters to parents and spouses of OUR troops killed in combat overseas.”

– President Donald J. Trump

** “wog,” in 1916, when Sikes-Picot was signed, was as commonly used as the “n” word. It was then and even more so now, a racial slur, of the highest order. I used it in this piece, to convey the sheer arrogance and assumed superiority of Sikes-Picot

David Webb Show is on Sirius XM, Channel 125, M-F 9-12:00EST

Screenshot from this video.

The climate change activists of the group “Extinction Rebellion” have been about trying to save the planet over the past few days.

Were they picking up trash? Doing clean up at the ocean?

Nope.

They were throwing a “Climate Strike” in London during which they were doing interpretive dance, yoga and just downright weird things. Daily Wire caught a lot of the action.

Note all the plastic tents used to block the streets and cause cars to spew more carbon emissions into the air.

Check out all the yoga mats made with fossil fuels:

I’m sure people gave up their fossil fuel use after this:

This scared me more than a little:

No idea what’s going on here:

There were diesel generators in vicinity seemingly powering the camps there, although Daily Wire didn’t confirm they were for the group.

But some of the group did make it to McDonald’s. Apparently no one told them about the bad plastic use and the horrible meat eating that contributes to killing the planet.

And how much water was wasted cleaning up this ridiculous stunt? Did they pollute with whatever they used?

But it’s a great racket. According to one account, Extinction Rebellion is raking in close to $50,000 a day.

Republicans Should Stop Talking Out of Both Sides of Their Mouths On China

U.S. President Donald Trump shakes hands with Chinese President Xi Jinping after a joint press conference at the Great Hall of the People, Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, in Beijing. Trump is on a five-country trip through Asia traveling to Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines. (AP Photo/Andy Wong)

As tensions with China and the NBA boil over, we’ve seen a remarkable showing of unity among all corners of American life. It seems we’ve finally reached a point where people recognize what China truly is and that the long term dangers of continuing to shovel cash and influence their way outweighs the short term gains.

At the same time, I find myself frustrated by some of the double talk I’m seeing on the issue because my fear is this new, widespread epiphany may not last.

Let’s remember, it was just five minutes ago that many Republicans within the beltway and their subsequent media circles were vehemently stumping for unfettered free trade with China. I can’t count how many “Trump is an idiot and will destroy the economy” tweets I’ve seen over the past few years. The consistent message has been to call for a total normalization of trade relations with China, absent any additional tariffs or leverage being used to press them.

Take this example of contradiction at play.

I actually agree with French on that point. But here’s the thing, none of this is new.

We’ve known for a long time that China is a human rights violator. We’ve known they cheat and steal when it comes to trade. It’s well documented that they put people in concentration camps and that they’ve killed minority groups via genocide. Heck, there are stories of them harvesting organs of prisoners.

No offense to Guy, because he’s right to point out what China is doing with Muslim minorities, but at the same time, he and many others like him have found Trump’s trade war with China highly objectionable on economic grounds. But if the Chinese are evil and reprehensible, why would anyone support China being such a large trade partner in the first place? These are questions many Republicans haven’t properly grappled with, instead choosing to illogical compartmentalize them.

Getting back to French, since he knows everything about China’s history of atrocities, why has he spent so much of his time levying critiques such as this?

When you hear Donald Trump claim that he can magically negotiate “winning” trade deals with China or Japan, here’s what it means in the real world: more expensive goods at home as tariffs drive up prices, and less opportunity for exports abroad as trading partners retaliate with import restrictions of their own. We won’t see textile mills spring open across the land — we’ll just pay more for shirts and socks.

Again, French isn’t necessarily wrong in a vacuum, although he was wrong about manufacturing not coming back. It actually has increased over Trump’s presidency, but tariffs do hurt American companies in the short term (they also hurt the Chinese). Yet, if he truly believes China is a tyrannical dictatorship and is a dangerous threat, why exactly would he be stumping for the status quo of enriching them and expanding their influence?

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t stump for unlimited trade with China, allowing them exponential growth to challenge us and our ideals, while at the same time proclaiming how terrible they are and how they are destroying democratic freedoms.

It’s time to choose a side and stick to it, even if there’s a cost.

I’m not writing this to call anyone out. I’m writing this to challenge Republicans to come up with a message on China that’s not a convoluted mess. When Trump started hitting China early in his tenure, the Republican response should have been to steer him into doing it for the right reasons (to blunt Chinese aggression and influence), not castigating him for not retreating and letting China do whatever they want just because it may benefit us financially.

You can’t demand unfettered free trade with China out of one side your mouth and then proclaim the vast, dangerous evils of China out of the other. That is a contradiction that can not be squared and Republicans should stop trying.

It’s good to see some are finally getting the message but they need to keep their eye on the ball going forward. China will be far, far more dangerous 20-30 years from now if we continue to heavily rely on them, passing mountains of cash in their direction along the way. It’s fair to say that I even part ways with the President on this matter. I don’t think we need a “better deal” with China (as Trump wants). I think we need to push American businesses to ween themselves off the communist teat completely. The long term gain and security will far outweigh the short term pain. China is not the only country on earth that can make cheap cloths and electronics, among other things.

In the end, the historic normalization of China was a mistake. I understand the purpose was to blunt the Soviet Union, but all we ended up doing was creating a monster. We’ve got precious little opportunity left to cut them down to size. Right now, the U.S. still holds tremendous financial leverage over them and we should use it.

Though Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has been a vocal critic of President Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, which it comes to House Democrats and their show trial impeachment inquiry, Graham remains one of the President’s strongest allies.

Earlier this afternoon, Graham tweeted out a warning for House Democrats to release the full transcript of former Ambassador Kurt Volker’s testimony from last Thursday. If they continue to stall, Graham made it clear he’d use his power as Senate Judiciary Chair to have him questioned publicly:

Graham’s second tweet linked to an interview Fox News did with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who is the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee. Jordan said during the segment that Volker testified for nine hours, and that Democrats should release the full transcript in the interest of transparency:

“Release the transcript so they can see what Ambassador Volker spent nine hours telling us,” Jordan said. “Where he said there was no quid pro quo, there was no linkage… between security assistance dollars for Ukraine and any type of investigation into anyone in Ukraine or any investigation into the Bidens.

“He was clear about that [and] reinforced exactly what President [Volodymyr] Zelensky said when he said, ‘I was not pushed by the administration,’” he continued. “Adam Schiff won’t release that. Instead, there were 67 pages of text messages. Adam Schiff took a few of those text messages and released them. Release them all.”
[…]
“The president was willing to release the transcript of the call with President Zelensky. Why won’t Adam Schiff release the transcript of the special envoy who testified for nine hours?”

Watch Jordan discuss Schiff’s actions below

Jordan’s comments echo what Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) said to journalists on Tuesday morning in a fiery statement about what he described as a “clown show” impeachment inquiry:

Maybe you should ask what was said inside of Volker’s deposition during his transcribed interview with regards to Adam Schiff’s fairy tale quid pro quo charge, that aid from the United States to the Ukraine was being linked to an investigation into the Bidens. Why don’t you ask what did Ambassador Volker say about that?”
[…]
“…if we weren’t there last Thursday, you would have no idea of everything that Ambassador Volker said to obliterate Adam Schiff’s fairy-tale quid pro quo charge. You’d have no idea.

Schiff and company have held up Volker as a trustworthy, credible witness for their side in these sham proceedings so far. That they continue to refuse to release the full transcript of his testimony is a strong indicator that what Republicans like Zeldin and Jordan are saying about Volker’s testimony are true, that what he said during the course of his hours-long questioning undermined the so-called impeachment case against Trump.

Illinois Schools Will Now Be Required to Indoctrinate Young Children With LGBT Principles and Beliefs

Blatant indoctrination has come to Illinois on the government level as, starting on July 1, 2020, schools will be legally required to teach children LGBT history and be forced to buy textbooks on the topic.

According to Joy Pullman of The Federalist, Illinois’ new curriculum won’t just take place during a short amount of time within the school year. It will be something that continues on throughout it. Students will be subjected to various books like “My Princess Boy” and “I Am Jazz” as well as a documentary that compares mixed-race and single parenthood families to families with LGBT parents:

District 65’s full LGBTQ+ week curriculum can be viewed online. To get a sense of of what this public school district is teaching the children in its care, and what the new LGBT curriculum in all Illinois public schools will look like starting next school year, let’s look at a few selections from their preschool and kindergarten curriculum for this week. This is for children ages 3 to 5.

Teachers were given a lesson plan on slides that include movies and a teaching script to show and say to the children each day of the week. The children are shown, among other things, a video of someone reading aloud the book “Heather Has Two Mommies,” famous transgender teen Jazz Jenning reading his picture book “I Am Jazz,” a book read aloud on video called “My Princess Boy,” and the apparently highly awarded video below. The script tells teachers to use materials like these throughout the year, not just during LGBTQ+ Equity Week.

The “highly awarded video” Pullman mentioned stops for a moment to talk about the intolerance toward the LGBT community. It also seems to contain a polyamorous family, as one child describes his two mommies and two daddies.

Afterward, the students are shown pictures of various types of families, like those seen in the video. The children are expected to respond with a “yes,” according to Pullman:

The children are also openly catechized in LGBT affirmations. For example, the script tells the teacher to say after one video: “OK. Let’s see what we learned. For each picture, you tell me if this is a family. Ready?” The children are clearly expected to say “Yes” to each.

The aforementioned slides introduce children as young as three to various concepts such as “gay and lesbian” and “gender identity.” Slides containing “Black Lives Matter” messaging is included as well.

Pullman reported that parents and teachers have already raised opposition and concerns about this curriculum, with many wishing to opt their children out of it. However, one district school board President has responded by stating that no child is allowed to excuse themselves from the curriculum.

“Our administration has heard from a number of parents who want the ability to opt their children out of this curriculum. The District 65 Board of Education does not support allowing students to opt out of this or any curriculum that seeks to include a more complete account of the role of historically marginalized people in our society, as such curriculum is vital to supporting our district mission of preparing students to contribute positively to a global and diverse society.”

So, unless you pull your child out of public school, your child is going to be indoctrinated whether you like it or not, and all in the name of a “diverse” society.

While a family teaching its own children their values is one thing, this is the forcing of values on other families through their children. The fact that these families can’t opt out is a heinous intrusion on the belief structure of a family upon a child against that family’s wishes.

This goes beyond “tolerance” or “inclusion.” This is now a cultural stance being forced into acceptance. In fact, it could very well be viewed as intolerance toward values that don’t align with the LGBT community.

In Break With Pelosi and Schiff, House Democrat Calls for Floor Vote on Impeachment Inquiry (So Does Beto)

Ever since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared an impeachment inquiry two weeks ago, she has said in interviews and elsewhere that calling for a floor vote in the U.S. House on the issue was not a Constitutional requirement.

While she’s technically correct, not calling for such a vote gives off the appearance of not having confidence that your caucus will carry through with their stated support of either an inquiry or impeachment itself. It’s also an indicator Pelosi doesn’t want to put some vulnerable House Democrats on the hot seat in a crucial election year.

Plus, as a fired up Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) noted Tuesday, Pelosi’s refusal to do so has hamstrung House Republicans and Trump’s legal team:

… because there has not been a vote to launch an impeachment inquiry, because the minority does not have any rights for subpoenas, because the president doesn’t have the right to have council present to ask questions for subpoena power, to present evidence.

Earlier today, House Democrat John Garamendi broke with fellow California Reps. (and impeachment circus ringleaders) Pelosi and Adam Schiff, telling CNN it’s time to hold a vote on the issue:

“I think it’s time for us to put a vote on the floor, a resolution for the inquiry structured in such a way that it can move forward with full power of the Congress behind it,” Garamendi said in an interview on “CNN Newsroom.”

“That will further strengthen Congress’s hand,” he added.

“They want a fight, OK,” Garamendi said of the White House. “Then let us arm ourselves completely and totally with the full power of Congress.”

According to The Hill, Garamendi “does not serve on any of the main committees leading the impeachment inquiry.” But just in case you think Garamendi might be one of the more tame Democrats in the House, think again. In the same interview, he said those who do not cooperate with the House’ investigation should be carted off to jail.

Garamendi is not the only Democrat who came out today calling for a formal vote on the House floor for an impeachment inquiry. So did 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke:

“I don’t want to question the speaker’s wisdom and I’m sure she has a very good reason for proceeding in the way that she has,” the 2020 hopeful told MSNBC. “But to your question, I’d love to remove that as a talking point or a reason for the kind of obstruction that you’re seeing from the president.”

MSNBC host Hallie Jackson had asked O’Rourke whether he thought House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., should act to take away the administration’s legal argument for not cooperating with her inquiry.

It’s not really a “talking point” but I wouldn’t expect him to characterize it any other way.

Pelosi should hold that vote on an impeachment inquiry. On one hand, not doing it protects vulnerable incumbents for the time being and gives Republicans and the White House few legal options.
On the other hand, the longer she refuses to, the more it adds credence to Republican and White House claims that this is all nothing but a giant sham a la the Russia collusion hoax.

She’s apparently decided the risk that this will be viewed as a sham over the long term is worth the risk, which is one reason why Pence is traveling this week to key House districts – to remind voters that elections, not impeachment, are how we settle political differences.

The DOJ Finally Decides to Prosecute a Federal Official For Leaking

A bit of news broke the afternoon involving the arrest of a federal official.

Henry K. Frese, a DIA official, was charged with leaking classified information to two different journalists, one of which he was apparently sleeping with. Remember that the next time the media tell you are virtuous and upstanding they are.

Here’s the report via The Federalist.

An employee at the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency was arrested Wednesday on federal charges of leaking top-secret classified information to two reporters.

Henry Kyle Frese, a 30-year-old counter-terrorism analyst at the DIA, allegedly leaked classified information to two reporters whose identities were not unveiled by authorities in 2018 and this year, one of which Frese was romantically involved with, according to the indictment.

Federal authorities say one reporter wrote eight articles stemming from at least five leaks from Frese.

While that linked article doesn’t rely the names of the reporters in question, we know who they are. One of them is CNBC’s Amanda Macias, who was in the romantic relationship with Frese. The other was an NBC reporter named Courtney Kube.

Much of what was leaked involved intelligence on foreign weapons capabilities and tests, including Russia and China.

CNBC has already suspended Macias.

We should probably go ahead and congratulate her on her new gig at The New York Times. You know it’s coming.

You also won’t be surprised to learn that Frese’s social media showed him to be rabidly anti-Trump.

I’d assume we are less than a day away from this guy being turned into a #resistance hero and Trump being accused of targeting him for his political views.

While this leaker isn’t directly related to the Trump-Russia fiasco, it does at least show a willingness by the DOJ to pursue these cases when they feel they have enough evidence. This appears to be an open and shut case. Hopefully, there are many more to come in the near future.

“Failing Campaign”: In Tweet Response, Trump Pinpoints Exactly Why Biden Jumped On Impeachment Bandwagon

Over the course of the last 2-plus weeks, Joe Biden has skated right up to the impeachment line in campaign speeches and even in an op/ed he recently wrote about the July Trump/Zelensky phone call. But he had been resistant to actually call for Trump’s removal, and instead had implored (Democratic) members of Congress to get to work investigating the allegations.

In a speech in New Hampshire earlier today, Biden reversed course and joined the chorus of other Democrats in calling for Trump’s impeachment:

“Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation and committed impeachable acts,” Biden told a crowd of supporters in Rochester, N.H. “To preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached.”

“That’s not only because of what he’s done. The answer to whether he has committed acts sufficient toward impeachment is obvious,” he continued.

“We see it in Trump’s own words. We see it in the texts from State Department officials that have been made public. We see it in his pulling much of the United States government into his corrupt schemes, individuals within the government, his appointees,” Biden said. “We have to remember that impeachment isn’t only about what the president has done. It’s about the threat the president poses to the nation.”

Watch Biden’s remarks below:

President Trump responded to Biden’s call with a couple of tweets. The first one being speculation as to why he finally jumped on board and the second one being a new ad on the Ukraine issue:

“Joe’s Failing Campaign gave him no other choice!” is the key line from Trump’s first tweet. It’s not something that the media has given a lot of attention to specifically, but it’s true.

Biden’s campaign is in trouble. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has caught up to him. Real Clear Politics now lists her as being ahead in polling averages.

His 3rd quarter fundraising haul was dismal for someone who remained ahead by double digits in polling for so long, including well before he declared his candidacy in April. Key big money donors are panicking, and recently held a closed door meeting to discuss what path to take going forward.

Biden has come off as unprepared to handle Trump’s sustained attacks on him regarding Ukraine. He has been seen snapping at reporters whose questions hit a little too close to home. His campaign has worked overtime to try and shut down negative media stories, interviews, and Trump campaign ads about the Ukraine issue.

Not only that, but to date he hasn’t done any sit-down interviews regarding the allegations about him, his son, and the firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor, which the elder Biden bragged about on video in 2018.

With all that in mind, what’s a guy who is suddenly on the ropes after months of having a comfortable lead in polling to do? Not just go for broke, but go for woke by way of doing what Sanders and Warren have already done: Call for impeachment.

Of course, in contrast to how they portrayed Trump’s call with Zelensky as politically opportunistic, the MSM won’t bother to point out how politically convenient it is for Biden to call for the ouster of the man who would be his opponent in the 2020 general election. But that’s another topic for another day.

Biden is still in the top tier to be sure, but his campaign has been wobbly in recent weeks and he now finds himself in the role of playing “catch-up” to Warren. Will joining the impeachment bandwagon put him on solid ground again?

Stay tuned…
