California Highway Patrol on Monday said they rescued a 17-year-old girl who was bound and gagged in the back of a car about an hour north of the border, according to a report.

Police said the teen’s father and sister were attempting to take her from Orange County to Mexico for a drug treatment facility, San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Authorities were alerted by a witness and the car was stopped on Interstate 5 in northern San Diego.

“It was the intent of the father and sister to transport the juvenile to Mexico to a drug treatment facility,” a CHP spokesperson said in a statement. “The 17-year-old female admitted to using methamphetamine for the past year.”

The girl was taken into protective custody.

Alyssa Milano says she has no regrets about 2 abortions: ‘I would not have my career’

Alyssa Milano, 46, revealed in the latest episode of her podcast this week that she made the “devastating” decision to have two abortions while in a serious relationship in 1993.

Milano, who was in her early 20s and had just finished working on “Who’s the Boss?” at the time, said she knew she wasn’t ready to be a mother, according to People.

“I chose. It was my choice,” she said on “Alyssa Milano: Sorry Not Sorry.” “And it was absolutely the right choice for me.”

Milano said she was using birth control both times she found out she was pregnant.

“It was not an easy choice,” continued Milano, who is a vocal pro-choice advocate. “It was not something I wanted, but it was something that I needed, like most health care is.”

“It was devastating,” she admitted. “I was raised Catholic and was suddenly put in conflict with my faith. A faith I was coming to realize empowered only men to make every single decision about what was allowed and what was not allowed.”

She said she found out she was pregnant for a second time just months after her first abortion.

“I had done what I knew to do to prevent pregnancy and was still pregnant, so once again I made the right decision to end that pregnancy,” she said.

Milano said she looks back on the decision without regret.

“I would not have my children [Elizabeth, 4, and son Milo, 7] — my beautiful, perfect, loving, kind and inquisitive children who have a mother who was so very, very ready for them,” she said. “I would not have my career. I would not have the ability or platform I use to fight against oppression with all my heart. I would never have met my amazing husband, David, whose steadfast and immeasurable love for me sustains me through these terrifying times,” according to People.

Last spring, Milano called for a Hollywood boycott and “sex strike” in Georgia to protest a heartbeat bill passed in the state.

US fencer punished for kneeling on podium at Pan Am Games, other athletes warned

Two U.S. athletes were given a year of probation by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) for staging protests while on the podium at the Pan American Games earlier this month, letters sent Tuesday revealed.

Hammer thrower Gwen Berry raised her fist and fencer Race Imboden took a knee while on the medal stand last week in Lima, Peru. All athletes at the Pan American Games and the Olympics agree to rules forbidding political protest.

The committee also warned other athletes that future protests could face more serious consequences.

“It is also important for me to point out that, going forward, issuing a reprimand to other athletes in a similar instance is insufficient,” USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland wrote in the letters, which were obtained by the Associated Press.

“We recognize that we must more clearly define for Team USA athletes what a breach of these rules will mean in the future,” Hirshland wrote. “Working with the (athletes and national governing body councils), we are committed to more explicitly defining what the consequences will be for members of Team USA who protest at future Games.”

After his protest, Imdoen tweeted “Racism, gun control, mistreatment of immigrants, and a president who spreads hate are at the top of a long list” of issues that need to be addressed.

Berry said she was protesting social injustice in the United States. It was “too important to not say something,” she said.

Both athletes are eligible for the Olympics next year in Tokyo.

Pennsylvania school district’s typo costing it nearly $900G, report says

A typo is saving homeowners in one Pennsylvania county about $32 each in property taxes but is costing the school district about $895,000, according to a report.

In June, an interim business administrator in the Pennsbury School District board resolution in Bucks County incorrectly stated the millage rate for this school year at 170.076 mills instead of the correct 171.076.

The error was discovered by the district’s new chief financial officer, Christopher Berdnik, when he started at the beginning of July – after tax bills had been mailed, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

TRUMP SAYS FRENCH WINE MAY FACE ‘100 PERCENT TARIFF’ IN RESPONSE TO TAX ON US TECH FIRMS: REPORT

Any retroactive changes could also leave the school district open to lawsuits.

Berdnik said property values are higher than they were assessed and the school district’s tax collection rate is high, which will account for $700,000 owed and the incorrect millage rate is 1.5 percent higher than last year. A resolution expected to be passed by the school board this month will refund much of the remaining debt.

No one caught the error initially because the millage rate wasn’t read aloud at the June meeting, The Inquirer reported.

Democratic 2020 presidential frontrunner Joe Biden praised Republicans as “decent people” at a Massachusetts fundraiser Saturday while touting his ability to work across the aisle, according to a report.

“There’s an awful lot of really good Republicans out there,” the former vice president told the audience, according to The Hill. “I get in trouble for saying that with Democrats, but the truth of the matter is, every time we ever got in trouble with our administration, remember who got sent up to Capitol Hill to fix it? Me. Because they know I respect the other team.”

BIDEN’S RESURFACED ADMISSION HE ‘LIKES’ CHENEY SPARKS DEM BACKLASH

He said congressional Republicans ran because they “care about things,” but are afraid to be at odds with President Trump.

“They’re intimidated right now,” he told the audience, The Hill reported.

Biden took heat last fall when The New York Times published a story that said he “stunned Democrats and elated Republicans” three weeks before the midterms by lauding Republican House candidate Fred Upton, R-Mich.

He has also frustrated Democrats in the past by praising former Vice President Dick Cheney and calling Vice President Mike Pence “a decent guy.”

While Biden — considered to be the most moderate of the top-ranked candidates — is largely running on his ability to work with Republicans, more liberal candidates like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris are focused on promoting progressive plans like Medicare-for-All and the Green New Deal.

Peter Fonda partied with Beatles, inspired a line in ‘She Said She Said’: report

Peter Fonda, who died Friday at 79, was not only part of the fabric of 1960s Hollywood with movies like “Easy Rider,” he also reportedly helped inspire a line in the 1966 song “She Said She Said” while tripping on acid with the Beatles one night.

In the summer of 1965, Fonda showed up at a Beatles house party on Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles, according to The Los Angeles Times.

STARS PAY TRIBUTE TO THE LATE PETER FONDA

Some of the guests (including the Beatles) were dropping acid, and Fonda, who later said he was high on LSD when he arrived, remembered that he tried to calm down guitarist George Harrison who thought he was dying.

“I told him there was nothing to be afraid of and that all he needed to do was relax,” Fonda said. “I said that I knew what it was like to be dead because when I was 10 years old, I’d accidentally shot myself in the stomach and my heart stopped beating three times while I was on the operating table because I’d lost so much blood.”

Fonda said John Lennon overhead him say “I know what it’s like to be dead.”

“He looked at me and said, ‘You’re making me feel like I’ve never been born. Who put all that sh– in your head?’” Fonda recalled, according to The Times.

Lennon later said that Fonda kept coming up to him and repeating the line.

“We didn’t want to hear about that!” he said. “We were on an acid trip and the sun was shining and the girls were dancing and the whole thing was beautiful and ‘60s, and this guy — who I really didn’t know; he hadn’t made ‘Easy Rider’ or anything — kept coming over, wearing shades, saying, ‘I know what it’s like to be dead,’ and we kept leaving him because he was so boring! And I used it for the song,” The Times reported.

Port Authority police officers at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City reportedly had to intervene after a fight broke out on a Delta flight that was delayed around eight hours Thursday.

One passenger, Juan Andres Ahmad, tweeted that the pilot had “no idea” where the ground crew was and while the passengers waited they weren’t given food or water, Fox 5 New York reported.

“This has gotten out of control – there are people fighting each other and it’s gotten both verbal and physical,” Ahmad tweeted. “Police are on the plane! Complete chaos! I understand weather delays and we all want to be safe but this is not about weather but about how Delta has handled it.”

Local journalist Glenna Milberg was on the plane at the time and tweeted video of “a small sample of the increasing chaos.”

Delta said no passengers were involuntarily removed from the flight, which finally left for Miami around 11 p.m., eight hours behind schedule, FOX 5 reported.

Tributes poured in for a local FOX reporter in New Orleans who was killed in a small plane crash Friday while doing a story about a stunt pilot.

Nancy Parker, 53, was a wife and mother of three who had worked as an anchor and reporter at FOX 8 in New Orleans for 23 years.

She was remembered by NFL quarterback Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, as well as Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and others around the state who admired the journalist and her work.

The pilot, identified by the station as Franklin J.P. Augustus, also died in the crash.

Fox 8 officials confirmed the news of the passing of their “longtime colleague and friend.”

Brees, himself a fixture in the city since 2006, wrote in a Twitter post that Parker was a “beloved reporter & news anchor.”

Saints owner Gayle Benson wrote on Facebook that Parker “fostered great trust with both those who she covered and with her viewers.” Benson included in her post a photo of herself with Parker.

Gov. Edwards tweeted that Parker told “stories that mattered to the people of our state.

“Please join your prayers to mine and Donna’s for Nancy’s husband and three children as they come to terms with this shocking loss,” the governor added.

“Suits” actor Wendell Pierce, a native of New Orleans, said he was “deeply saddened by the untimely death of the consummate journalist.”

A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) statement said the plane was a 1983 Pitts S-2B aircraft that crashed in an empty field about a half-mile south of the airport, which accommodates smaller aircraft, under unknown circumstances. That model aircraft is a biplane.

Playboy senior White House reporter and CNN political analyst Brian Karem said Friday he intends to sue the federal government over the temporary suspension of his White House hard pass credentials last month.

Karem’s credentials were taken away after an altercation with former White House aide Sebastian Gorka during a conservative social media summit in the Rose Garden of the White House on July 11.

Gorka and Karem got into a shouting match that was captured on video, after Karem described the summit participants as a “group of people that are eager for demonic possession.”

JUDGE ORDERS WHITE HOUSE TO RESTORE JIM ACOSTA’S PRESS PASS

After a bit of back and forth, Gorka shouted at Karem, “You’re a punk, you’re not a journalist, you’re a punk.” Karem then told Gorka to “get a job.”

At one point, Karem suggested they take their conversation “outside,” although they were already in the Rose Garden.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham in a letter said she based the suspension decision on Karem’s “insulting invited guests,” threatening a physical altercation and not leaving when asked by a White House staffer during the event.

A letter written by Karem’s legal team Friday said the suspension violates his First Amendment and due process rights and was “yet another example of this administration’s unconstitutional campaign to punish reporters and press coverage that President Trump doesn’t like.”

Last fall, the White House took away the credentials of CNN’s chief White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, after a contentious exchange with President Trump in which the White House claimed Acosta had placed his hands on a female intern while trying to hold on to his microphone.

CNN sued and nine days later a judge ordered his credentials restored.
