Civil rights attorney Leo Tyrrell told “Hannity” Friday that a now-deleted tweet from the Democratic National Committee that tried to link Mount Rushmore with “white supremacy” made him “embarrassed to be a Democrat.”

On Monday, the DNC’s Twitter account @TheDemocrats posted the message: “Trump has disrespected Native communities time and again. He’s attempted to limit their voting rights and blocked critical pandemic relief. Now he’s holding a rally glorifying white supremacy at Mount Rushmore- a region once sacred to tribal communities.”

DEMS TWEET THEN DELETE POST LINKING TRUMP’S MT. RUSHMORE EVENT TO ‘GLORIFYING WHITE SUPREMACY’

“[Mount Rushmore] is a great place for the president to celebrate our nation’s birthday,” Terrell told “Hannity” guest host Jason Chaffetz ahead of Trump’s address at the national monument.

“That tweet — I want people to hear this,” Terrell went on. “The Democratic Party calling this a ‘white supremacy’ meeting is the race card at its highest level and that came from the Democratic Party.”

Tyrrell added that instead of looking to Trump to “find a racist,” they should “go back to Joe Biden insulting every African-American … and secondly, Kamala Harris calling Joe Biden a racist.”

“The bottom line is simply this,” Terrell concluded. “If you are a Democrat, you can be a racist. But the point here is, you accuse the Republicans of being racist and there is no evidence of that whatsoever. It’s embarrassing and I am embarrassed to be a Democrat tonight.”

Hoover Institution senior fellow and author Victor Davis Hanson told the “Ingraham Angle” Friday that President Trump must respond to America’s current unrest with a firm statement along the lines of Abraham Lincoln’s message to Congress on July 4, 1861.

“In 1861, Lincoln gave a Fourth of July address to Congress, and it [the situation in America] was divisive, much more divisive than it is now,” Hanson explained. “He wanted unity but it’s very hard to have unity when a small proportion of the states don’t want unity. So what Lincoln did was he said, basically, ‘I have bent over backwards, I’m going to protect federal property.’

“‘I don’t want you to do what you’re doing,’ [Lincoln said] when he addressed the people who were against unity in the Union, but he reassured the others that he was going to be firm.”

In his remarks, Lincoln defended his actions in response to the bombardment of Fort Sumter, S.C., including calling up the militia and suspending the writ of habeas corpus, and requested additional funds and troops to put down the rebellion.

“I think Donald Trump has got to say, ‘We have 244 links in this chain [of] years. Our generation is not going to be the first one to break it, I’m sorry,'” Hanson said.

“‘People died in Okinawa. They died at Gettysburg. They died at Shiloh. We have an obligation to them to carry on that spirit, and I’m not going to preside over the first generation that says we are going to tear down statues … we are going to cancel people’s lives out with McCarthyite tactics,'” Hanson said, describing a passage Trump should or could say.

“We have blue state mayors and governors who deliberately do not enforce the law. We have corporate CEOs, we have retired generals, we have university presidents, who know better but either out of weakness or timidity or fear, they are allowing people to change our customs, our traditions, our icons, and our reverence. And somebody has to say, ‘We are not going to do that. We don’t want to offend you, we don’t want to go to war with you, but we are not going to let you, a minority, dictate to a majority that is trying to keep a wonderful nation.'”

Former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson told “The Story” Friday that the ongoing rise in coronavirus hospitalizations in parts of the country suggests that either doctors are treating the virus more effectively — or more people are being hospitalized “with” the virus rather than because of it.

“There’s definitely been community growth in the transmission of the virus,” he told host Jon Scott. “There’s been spread in the Sun Belt states in the last month, nobody could dispute that. It’s also true that if we tested everybody on the same day, we have a massive number.”

Berenson noted a study out of North Carolina which found that nearly 15 percent of residents there have coronavirus antibodies.

“We still haven’t done that on the national scale so we truly don’t know how many people have already gotten this,” he said. “What I’m saying to you, what I’m saying to everyone, this rise from 20,000 positive tests to 50,000 positive tests, essentially means very little if we know there are hundreds of thousands of people nationally infected with this.”

Berenson emphasized one of the most important figures in any set of coronavirus data is the hospitalization rate, not the positivity rate.

“At some point, we have to acknowledge that the virus — either doctors are treating it better, or there’s a lot of people who are being hospitalized with COVID rather than from COVID,” he said. “Because community spread is so wide, you’re going into the hospital for some elected procedure and they’re testing for COVID and finding it.

“Or it’s possible, and there’s scientific speculation about this, I wouldn’t say it’s confirmed by any means, the virus is actually becoming less virulent.”

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton told Fox News’ “The Story” Friday that his organization filed a federal lawsuit against Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser after their request to paint an “apolitical” slogan on a Capitol Hill street was given “the run-around” for weeks.

Fitton told host Jon Scott he has sought to paint the non-profit group’s motto “No One Is Above The Law” on a street near its office and claimed Bowser’s reticence appears to be because she disagrees with the message.

“That’s not proper under the Constitution,” he said. “Remember, the city painted ‘Black Lives Matter’ and the city also allowed to be painted, ‘Defund the Police’. It’s hard to argue that that can take place, yet a request like we are making can’t.

“When you start denying access to a public forum — now, which the streets are according to the mayor’s own actions — you’re running up against the First Amendment. That’s why we’re in federal court.”

Fitton said his organization gave the District every opportunity to allow them access to the asphalt, including offering to pay for the slogan painting themselves but had no luck

“The government obviously can have certain restrictions about how it is done,” he said. “They initially said, ‘Well, I don’t know if it’ll work because it might interfere with traffic.'”

However, Fitton noted, a street has been closed near the location of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ painting close to the White House.

“We’re just getting the run-around…”

According to Fitton, Judicial Watch is also seeking to paint “No One Is Above The Law” on an Uptown section of Fifth Avenue in New York City after Mayor Bill de Blasio announced plans to have “Black Lives Matter” painted at multiple locaitons throughout the city.

When Scott asked what might stop another group from trying to paint their slogan on a city street, Fitton responded that there is no legal way to prevent such action since Bowser sanctioned the initial “Black Lives Matter” painting.

“This is the consequence when a government starts playing games,” He said. “If they are going to start picking winners and losers on issues … the result is they have to follow the law.”

In a statement on their website, Judicial Watch said they spent three weeks emailing with the mayor’s office but “have yet to receive a substantive response to [our] street painting request.”

“Our lawsuit argues that DC [sic] officials denied timely access to Judicial Watch to paint its own expressive message and violated federal civil rights law in allowing District streets to be used for the painting of expressive messages, which constitutes protected First Amendment activity, but denying [Judicial Watch] the timely opportunity to paint its expressive message on a District street for reasons that are not narrowly drawn to achieve a compelling government interest.”

The statement added that the District of Columbia appears to be “favoring the expressive messages painted on 16th Street NW [Black Lives Matter] and/or created the appearance of endorsing those messages to the exclusion of Plaintiff’s message on a related subject matter.”

The Five” co-host Brian Kilmeade said Friday that White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Anthony Fauci is ignoring the sacrifices made by Americans during the pandemic when he discusses the spike in cases across parts of the U.S.

In Senate testimony earlier this week, Fauci said he was “very concerned” by the increase in cases, adding: “We are now having 40-plus-thousand new cases a day, I wouldn’t be surprised if we go up to 100,000 [cases] a day if this does not turn around.”

“In California and Florida, you can’t go to the beach,” the “Fox & Friends” host said. “Bars in Texas are shuttered again, fireworks displays across the country are canceled. So basically, Anthony Fauci and company said the best thing we could do was nothing and so far, for four months, he seems disappointed with us.

“Really?” Kilmeade went on. “We took the whole country and ground it to a halt. People gave up their jobs and livelihoods and stopped seeing people over 65 face-to-face. How much more sacrifice do we have to make?”

Kilmeade argued that the advancements made by Fauci and the scientific and medical communities toward determining an effective treatment or vaccine for the virus has not corresponded to the sacrifices Americans have made and the general adherence to extreme state lockdown orders.

“Find a way for the science community to catch up,” the Fox News Radio host said. “I thought you went to college for this. We need a little bit more cutting-edge technology here”

“Anthony Fauci is doing blogs, he’s doing [NBA player] Steph Curry’s podcasts — can’t he put on a lab coat and make some progress? Don’t put down the country. He said 50 percent of the country shut down. No, 100 percent shut down. We are tired of being shut down.”

The host of the “Brian Kilmeade Show” on Fox News Radio added that most Americans want to do their part, but have been let down by conflicting or contradictory guidance from officials.

“It was you guys who told us not to wear the mask,” he said. “It was the Surgeon General [Dr. Jerome Adams] who told us it could make things worse if we wore the mask. So you started for two months telling us ‘No’ and now you’re mad at us for not wearing it all the time, so I’m a little surprised where we are at right now,” he said.

Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie told “Bill Hemmer Reports” Friday that approval of his department among veterans is at an “all-time high.”

“Veterans are now, under this administration, voting with their feet,” Wilkie told host Jon Scott.

Wilkie explained that under his and President Trump’s leadership, the VA is seeing a 90 percent “trust-and-approval” rating. He added that the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization did their own survey and essentially validated those figures after polling their members.

“When we talk about trust and approval ratings, those ratings are almost 40 points higher than they were in the last administration because this president has put veterans front-and-center,” Wilkie said, “and we have seen the benefits of that, and we have seen veterans coming home to VA in record numbers.”

Turning to the coronavirus pandemic, Wilkie said the VA is seeing similar infection rates to the civilian population among veterans. He told Scott that 18,000 of approximately 9.5 million veterans have been infected, and 15,000 of those have fully recovered.

Because of the VA’s efficacy in treating coronavirus, Wilkie said his office is better able to serve other populations. He cited Arizona, where the VA has enlisted nurses to learn the Navajo language in order to assist Native American tribes who are being affected by the contagion.

“It’s allowed us to serve the entire country,” he said. “We are in nursing homes across the country.”

Trump 2020 campaign press communications director Erin Perrine teased on “The Daily Briefing” Friday that the president would deliver “what will be an iconic address in front of Mount Rushmore” to kick off the nation’s Independence Day celebrations.

“He is going to be able to celebrate America’s history — our founding and our Founders — in front of Mount Rushmore –” Perrine told host Kristin Fisher. “[He’ll honor] those who stood up in the face of tyranny to establish the greatest nation the world has ever known, [and] honor the men and women of the United States military who serve day in and day out to protect and bring freedom across the world and protect it here at home.

“And,” Perrine added, “he will talk about the high honor and distinction we all have as Americans and citizens of the United States. It’s going to be a beautiful speech at one of America’s most iconic locations.”

Fisher noted that Trump has been criticized for holding the Mount Rushmore event after South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem announced that social distancing guidelines would not be enforced.

“the governor has clearly been working to establish protocols for safety,” Perrine responded. “And we encourage those who may be in a higher risk group to be able to enjoy the festivities safely at home as well. There are opportunities to be a part of this both there and away.”

Fisher then noted that Native American groups have criticized Trump for holding what they claim “is essentially a photo op at one of their most sacred sites.” Perrine responded that a presidential visit to give a speech at a national monument should not be controversial.

“Listen,” she said, “President Trump is going to stand in front of a national monument and give a speech to our nation. It will be beautiful. It will be patriotic, and it will honor the greatness of this nation, all of it.”

Former civil rights activist Bob Woodson told Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” Wednesday that the Black Lives Matter organization has “blood on its hands” and that the corporations financially supporting it are “paying for the bricks they’re using” to damage property and crush livelihoods.

“The pretext of all of this, of course, was pursuing social justice and challenging institutional racism, and they used George Floyd as the symbol of that,” Woodson told host Lou Dobbs.

“They’re always trolling for other ‘George Floyds,'” Woodson went on. “The head of Black Lives Matter went to Houston when a 7-year-old girl was killed and raised $100,000 in reward money while anticipating that the person who killed her was white, only to discover that the murderer was black and so then it was not a story after that.”

Woodson appeared to be referring to the December 2018 death of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes in a drive-by shooting. The following week, authorities arrested and charged 20-year-old Eric Black Jr., with her murder. According to a NPR report, the local chapter of Black Lives Matter wrote on social media at the time that the “attack seems racially motivated and it will not stand. Make sure that we hold law enforcement accountable in bringing justice for Jazmine Barnes.”

“This is not about social justice,” Woodson emphsized. “And, again, low-income black America are being used by the group to promote insurrection in the country, and anarchy.”

Woodson also noted the indiscriminate targeting of statues and historical monuments for destruction and vandalism by purported anti-racism protesters, including a Boston monument to the all-black 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, whose Civil War exploits were immortalized in the Oscar-winning 1989 film, “Glory.”

“So these people are really out to destroy civil society,” he said. “If a police precinct can be taken over by a mob, then why not your home?”

“My message to guilty white people [is] stop helping us!” Woodson added. “Just stop helping us.”

“There is blood on the hands of Black Lives Matter and these corporations that are paying for the bricks they’re using to throw through store windows because, as you know, Lou, [during] this past Father’s Day weekend there was a hemorrhage of black-on-black death in Chicago, New York and other cities,” he concluded. “It’s just out of control because the police have been diverted to protecting statues.”

Sean Hannity opened Wednesday night’s edition of “Hannity” by calling on presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to leave his Delaware “bunker” and speak out against the chaos, vandalism and destruction of statues and monuments that has taken place across America in recent weeks.

“Liberal mayors and governors are not doing a thing to create peace and security for their citizens,” Hannity said. “Last night, two statues [were] toppled by a hoard of angry protesters, this time in Madison, Wisconsin [and] a state senator was attacked by a crowd, pushed to the ground; punched and kicked in the head.”

Hannity also noted that protesters burned an American flag near the White House in Washington D.C. and publicly announced their intention to topple the Emancipation Memorial, which depicts Abraham Lincoln with a black man newly freed from slavery.

“Joe Biden, you haven’t done a press conference in 83 days.” Hannity said. “You’re hiding in your bunker … [w]here do you stand on all of this, Joe?

“You want to be president in 132 days, how about speaking to the American people?” the host asked. “How about getting out of the bunker, if you’re capable of uttering two consecutive sentences without messing it up?”

“I know Terry McAuliffe is fine because you only see two people a day,” Hannity added, recalling that the former Virginia governor had been recorded saying earlier this month that Biden was “fine in the basement” so long as he holds a sizable lead in the polls over Trump.

“The president is issuing an executive order to protect national monuments, including steep penalties for those who commit acts of vandalism,” the host noted. “And then we have weak, cowering Joe. What does he have to say?”

Mark Steyn: Ongoing ‘elite revolt against the masses’ shows ‘we live in an age of stupid elites’

Author and columnist Mark Steyn told “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday that the violent mobs targeting statues and monuments for vandalism and destruction in cities across America represent “an actual March of the Morons from coast to coast.”

Steyn told host Tucker Carlson that there have been “revolutions throughout history in which very evil persons have participated in.”

BET’S BOB JOHNSON: ‘BORDERLINE ANARCHISTS’ TEARING DOWN STATUES

“But I’m not sure the March of the Morons isn’t actually more dangerous,” he added. “What happens to you could be entirely arbitrary. You might just have too big of a bow on your hair ribbon and it gets mistaken for a noose.”

Before Steyn joined the program, Carlson had referenced Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s claim last week that ropes hanging from trees at a local park were nooses. In the wake of Schaaf’s statement, a black local resident came forward and said he had put the ropes up months before for exercise.

According to Steyn, the ongoing protests and violence against property is a sign of “civilizational regime change.”

WISCONSIN OFFICIALS CONDEMN VIOLENCE AFTER CHAOS GRIPS CAPITOL

“When you actually tear people away [and] uproot them from their civilizational inheritance, then they are completely unmoored and have nothing to cling to and are rooted in nothing,” he said, adding that by that logic, the destruction of a statue of a prominent Wisconsin abolitionist and Union Army colonel would seem “entirely reasonable.”

Steyn also posited that “we live in an age of stupid elites” in which privileged children attend college in order to learn the “correct attitudes” rather than facts and life skills.

“And by [that] they mean entirely insane attitudes,” Steyn said. “This is essentially an elite revolt against the masses.”
