Shamed Parkland Sheriff Scott Israel Voted Out by Florida Senate Despite Democrat’s Fight to Keep Him

National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch answers a question while sitting next to Broward Sheriff Scott Israel during a CNN town hall meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at the BB&T Center, in Sunrise, Fla. (Michael Laughlin/South Florida Sun-Sentinel via AP)

After the Parkland shooting which claimed the lives of many innocent high school students and teachers, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel sat on a stage next to radio show host and Second Amendment advocate Dana Loesch and proceed to blame her and the National Rifle Association for everything that happened on that fateful day.

The truth was later revealed that it was Israel and his department’s incompetence and failure to act on many occasions both before and while the shooting was occurring that was the real people at fault for the atrocity. He was suspended and Florida lawmakers began the long process of deciding if he should be kicked to the curb.

According to the Sun-Sentinal, the Florida Senate did just that, but it definitely wasn’t a unanimous vote. It would appear that despite Israel’s apparent blunders, Democrats wanted to keep him in office:

The 25-15 vote was mostly along party lines with Republicans, who are a majority in the Senate and loyal to the Republican governor, generally supporting removal while most Democrats voted to reinstate the Democratic sheriff. All five Broward senators voted for reinstatement, despite the wishes of Parkland parents.

“I can stand here and I can tell you how I empathize with the Parkland parents,” said Democrat Sen. Perry Thurston said. “I’m not disregarding them. None of us would.”

Thurstan added that “95% of Broward County feels differently about the attempt to remove the sheriff.” It’s unclear where he got that number.

“We are tasked between deciding about how we feel and the dangerous precedent we leave behind,” said Democrat Sen. Kevin Rader.

According to the Sun-Sentinal, the “high standard for proof for removal had not been met” according to Rader.

Democrat Sen. Gary Farmer believed that Parkland parents and Republicans were being ruled by emotion and not rationality when it came to their desire to see Israel gone.

“Because of the horrendous and ghastly nature of that event, it’s easy to be moved by the emotion and the pleas of the parents who are still grieving and who forever will be grieving for the loss of their children,” Farmer said. “We are a country founded on rule of law. We cannot base our decision on emotion.”

Israel himself also believed that reason didn’t win the day.

“Politics won,” he told the Sun-Sentinal, adding that the “process was as a sham. It was a farce.”

Dana Loesch, whom Israel used as a scapegoat while on the infamous CNN Townhall that followed the Parkland shooting, told RedState that this is a fitting outcome for Israel.

“Scott Israel thinks he’s the victim and that his job was “stolen.” The lives of 17 innocent people were what was stolen,” Loesch told RedState. “He isn’t the victim here — the people he failed to protect are the victims. It’s why the families and his own deputies stood against him. No amount of his thuggish bullying will change that and I’ll be there at his every step to call him out every single time.”

Kyle Kashuv, one of the Parkland students who survived the shooting, told RedState that this was a just end to Israel’s career, and thanked the Parkland families who did lose family members for helping bring it about.

“Thanks to the tireless work of Andrew Pollack, Ryan Petty and the Parkland families, Scott Israel finally got some semblance of the justice he deserved for his deep corruption and incompetence that enabled the tragedy at my school,” Kashuv told RedState.

Kashuv also applauded the Republicans who voted to remove Israel from office and slammed the Democrats who defended him.

“Good on those in the Florida Senate who voted for his removal, and it’s an absolute shame on those who voted against. I cannot thank Governor DeSantis enough for continuing to stand by his promises to Parkland and the Parkland families,” he added.

Israel seems to believe that he’s going to retake his office during an election in 2020, but judging by the number of people who have turned against him after the truth about the shooting came out, especially the Parkland parents and students, it’s unlikely he’ll see office again.

New Info Explodes CNN’s Story That Stronger Gun Laws Would Have Prevented Odessa Shooter From Obtaining Gun

Gun control advocates have promoted the story that the Odessa, TX shooter who killed seven and wounded 25 last Saturday would not have been able to purchase a gun if the US required universal background checks.

CNN’s Josh Campbell tweeted: “Somebody who failed a federal background check was still able to legally purchase a gun in America. How does that make any sense? It’s literally insane.”

Then, CNN published an article claiming that the gun was purchased in a private sale, which doesn’t require a background check. Their source? A law enforcement official. That would be Campbell, who serves as the network’s law enforcement analyst. Campbell previously worked at the FBI.

Naturally, this claim was breathlessly repeated by others including Jim Sciutto who tweeted, “New: Odessa gunman purchased weapon in private sale, which does not require a background check – @joshscampbell reporting.” And by Jake Tapper, who wrote, “A law enforcement official tells CNN’s @joshscampbell that the Odessa TX mass murderer purchased his weapon in a private sale — which does not require a background check.”

As it turns out, an article in the Wall Street Journal explodes CNN’s entire narrative. The shooter, Seth Aaron Ator, purchased his AR-15 style rifle from a Texas man whom law enforcement officials believe illegally manufactured and sold the firearm. The whole “private” transaction looks to be illegal which means that more stringent universal background check laws would not have stopped Ator from obtaining a weapon.

The Journal reported:

Ator, 36 years old, was prohibited under federal law from owning a firearm because a court had previously found him mentally unfit, law-enforcement officials previously said. He had tried to buy a gun in January 2014 but failed because a nationwide criminal-background-check system flagged the mental-health determination by a local court and prevented the purchase, according to the officials.

While private gun sales are legal under federal law, it is a crime to be in the business of manufacturing or selling guns without a license. Law-enforcement officials suspect the man was buying various gun parts to build his own guns and then reselling them.

It has become increasingly popular for people to build AR-style rifles at home with parts purchased online.

Thus, stronger gun laws would not have prevented this shooting. Existing laws prevented Ator from purchasing a gun legally, so he found a way to obtain one illegally. Which is something that criminals who want a firearm would be likely to do. There are many ways to obtain guns illegally and a criminal will take the time to find one.

Federal investigators searched the suspected seller’s home on Wednesday and as of 7:30 am on Friday, there are no reports of what their findings were.

But CNN, just twelve hours ago, continued to promote their narrative.

The investigation into the gun sale highlights one of the loopholes in the patchwork of federal gun laws. Because the sale was a so-called private sale, the seller isn’t required to conduct a background check on the buyer, which is required in sales by licensed gun dealers.

Authorities are seeking to determine whether the sale violated federal law, which requires that sellers register as gun dealers if they’re buying and selling guns for profit and acting essentially as gun dealers.

Although it has not been confirmed or denied, I believe it would have been reported by now if the suspected seller had been a licensed gun dealer.

My question to CNN and all gun control advocates: After you take all the guns away from law-abiding citizens, how do you plan to take them away from criminals?

Answer: You’ll never be able to do it.

Below, the NRA’s Dana Loesch and The Federalist’s David Harsanyi weigh in on CNN’s foolish story.

Gun debates usually are not fun because of the seriousness of the issue and because the default rallying cry of gun control activists is that defenders of the Second Amendment have “blood on their hands” and don’t care about the innocent people who are hurt or killed from gun violence.

While that is, of course, not remotely true, a bit of humor was to be had this week in the gun rights debate when Fox News commentator Geraldo Rivera piggybacked on a tweet made by unhinged liberal “comedian” Sarah Silverman about hunters. Here’s what Silverman tweeted:

Rivera went even further:

This… did not go over well with female gun owners, who lowered the boom on Rivera. As you can see from the screen grab below, the tweet was seriously ratioed:

Radio talk show host and former NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch hilariously made mincemeat out of Geraldo’s tweet:

Oops!

Other gun rights activists, both male and female, got in on the action, too:

Ouch. That last one will especially leave a mark.

Think before you tweet next time, Geraldo. Think. In a one-on-one war of words between conservative talk show host/political commentator/author Dana Loesch and disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti, my money would be on Loesch every time.

Loesch was on the Twitter machine Thursday reading CNN the riot act over media firefighters Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy suggesting that Trump criticizing NY Times columnist Bret Stephens over his bedbug insult overreaction was part of a broader Trump “war” on the press:

Loesch then noted that CNN had been waging a war of its own – against Trump and his supporters over non-issues and by way of inviting on unhinged guests:

After continuing on in a few more tweets with examples, Loesch concluded by shaming CNN for elevating Avenatti for months as a heroic ResistanceWestlake Legal Group 2122 Dana Loesch Levels Michael Avenatti in Back and Forth Over His Porn Star Lawyer Status, Mounting Legal Troubles Social Media republicans Politics North Carolina Michael Avenatti Media journalism Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story Featured Post democrats Dana Loesch Culture CNN Allow Media Exception leader when it was obvious that he was a fraudster who was exploiting Daniels to score political points with the Woke Mafia in advance of a rumored presidential bid:

Avenatti got his feelings hurt and lashed out:

Loesch clapped back that he had to have used the search terms “porn lawyer” to find her tweet, which he denied while throwing another weak jab about the NRA:

Loesch then absolutely torched Avenatti with a finishing move for the ages:

“You can go shave your back now.” SICK BURN. #Boom

His response was pathetic, but by that point Loesch was done with him and had moved on:

Poor Michael Avenatti just can’t get any respect. The world’s smallest violin is playing for you, buddy. Bless your heart.

Donald Trump Jokes About Fredo, Inadvertently Makes the Case Against Red Flag Laws

Westlake Legal Group DonaldTrumpAPphotoJune2019-620x317 Donald Trump Jokes About Fredo, Inadvertently Makes the Case Against Red Flag Laws twitter red flag laws Politics Media Judges joke Guns gun control Front Page Stories Front Page Fredo Featured Story donald trump Dana Loesch Chris Cuomo Case Against bias

President Donald Trump walks across the South Lawn as he arrives at the White House, Sunday, June 30, 2019, in Washington. (AP Photo/Andrew Harnik)

Because it’s 2019 and nothing has to make sense, the biggest story in the country today was that a CNN host threatened to assault someone after they called them “Fredo.” If the alien’s are reading this, yes that’s real life right now.

This led to all kinds of hot takes from around the political sphere. CNN came out and ridiculously asserted that Fredo is an “ethnic slur” when it’s clearly nothing of the sort. Liberals who had previously supported the heckling of people like Sarah Sanders suddenly decided it was out of bounds to poke fun at Chris Cuomo out in public.

To be clear, I think the guy who went at Cuomo was a jerk. That doesn’t mean the double standards aren’t still blatantly obvious. Had a major conservative figure told someone they were going to throw them down a flight of stairs, it’d have led to non-stop condemnation and claims of mounting violent rhetoric on the right. Because it’s a left-wing individual though, he’s considered justified. Some conservative voices, who’d have clutch their pearls had this been Don Jr. or Tucker Carlson, even went to bat for Cuomo. You can be assured he won’t return the favor when the time comes.

Regardless, because there was controversy, the Trump signal lit up the sky and he immediately ran to Twitter. That led to his hilarious response to the controversy.

I’m sorry, but if aren’t reading that tweet in your head with Trump’s accent and laughing, you have no sense of humor. Trump wasn’t done poking fun though. He then made fun of Chris Cuomo by asking if he would have his weapons taken away under a red flag law.

The funny thing is, Trump just inadvertently made the case against red flag laws, which he supports for some reason.

Dana’s right. While Trump is obviously just joking, is it that far-fetched to think red flag laws could be abused in this way? Someone gets caught on camera losing their temper. They are reported to a judge who’s generally sympathetic to gun control and he oks the order. Next thing you know that person is having police show up at their house to seize their weapons.

I don’t like Chris Cuomo but I wouldn’t want to see him stripped of his constitutional rights because of a moment of weakness responding to a heckler. I also wouldn’t want someone who’s reading this right now to have their 2nd amendment rights taken away because their vindictive neighbor reported them after an argument about the property line or something. These are real issues that are inherently unavoidable when dealing with red flag laws. There’s currently such a law in Florida and reports are that judges are extremely lax with granting the cool down period, most likely because they don’t want to be accused of inaction if something did happen.

At the end of the day, if red flag laws become law, it will lead to all kinds of questionable decisions regarding the 2nd amendment. We’ve already seen how volatile and partisan the judiciary can be when it comes to dealing with the Trump administration. Is there any doubt many judges would end up unfairly and unconstitutionally enforcing red flag laws?

The answer is simple. We don’t need laws that focus on the tool. We need laws that focus on the cause, and that’s typically mental illness. If someone is such a danger to society via derangement, radicalism, or depression (among other things), then taking their guns away is not a solution. You are dumping them back on the street in the same condition and there are plenty of other ways to cause carnage. Instead, we should be focusing on mental health treatment for such people.

Hopefully, the President and some conservatives re-think the unintended consequences of pushing for red flag laws.

Mainstream Media Figures Shamefully Dog Pile Onto Dana Loesch in Wake of Mass Shootings

Westlake Legal Group Untitled-1-2-620x317 Mainstream Media Figures Shamefully Dog Pile Onto Dana Loesch in Wake of Mass Shootings twitter Texas Politics Ohio MSNBC Mika Brzezinski Media mass shooting Joe Scarborough Illinois Guns gun control Front Page Stories Featured Story El Paso democrats dayton Dana Loesch CNN Chicago Allow Media Exception

Anytime a shooting that the media wants to pay attention to occurs — Chicago and Dayton are quickly being forgotten about — many people on the left immediately log onto Twitter and head straight for Dana Loesch.

Dana Loesch is arguably the most famous gun rights advocate in America. As such, everyone from your average keyboard warrior to mainstream media figures will begin attacking Loesch for no better reason than being a woman who people can recognize in relation to guns.

Naturally, after the El Paso shooting occurred, Loesch became the focal point of a lot of people’s hatred and anger.

So on, and so on, and so on. By now, this “blood on your hands” line from the left is uttered about as much as the word “white supremacist” is when they talk about President Donald Trump. “Gun lady evil” could be a meme right up there with “orange man bad.”

The problem is that it’s not just your typical blue checkmark and internet rando that comes after Loesch. The mainstream media seem to love putting the blame on people like Loesch too. After El Paso, the mainstream media decided to jump on Dana Loesch by trying out this brand new strategy that we’ve never seen before; taking something she had said completely out of context.

It started when CNN’s Joan Walsh decided to make a snide comment about Loesch’s connection with beet juice.

Walsh was called out for trying to attack Loesch in the midst of the tragedy by confusing beet juice with blood, and Walsh responded with more insults. Loesch simply responded that she has nothing on her hands.

Another blue checkmark told Loesch to look more closely, insinuating Loesch really was to blame for what happened. When Loesch called out the fact that they were directing hate toward her that could inevitably lead to violence from those angered by Loesch’s supposed part in the shootings, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough decided to take a swipe at Loesch by making himself and his wife Mika Brzezinski sound like a victim of her rhetoric.

Scarborough is purposefully misrepresenting Loesch’s “your time is running out” quote by not even acknowledging what Loesch was talking about, or the context with which she said it. Loesch called him out on this.

Then Brzezinski joined in the fray, making it sound as if Loesch was the one who picked the fight in the first place.

Brzezinski had a flute to play, however, and kept going after Loesch while trying to pretend like it was Loesch on the attack. The MSNBC co-host kept telling Loesch to leave her alone while continuously tweeting insults at her. Brzezinski even went so far as to claim she picked the fight with Scarborough.

There’s plenty more to choose from. Visit Loesch’s page. She posts and retweets the hate thrown at her in Breitbartian fashion.

Loesch has been dealing with this nonsense for ages. The “blood on your hands” line has been repeated so much to her, especially lately, that it’s taken on the same feel as a zombified sounding cult chant. She’s obviously not to blame for the shooting, but she’s a lightning rod for people looking for someone to take their anger out on.

The problem is that the media leads this charge against her and for a solid reason. Loesch has proven them wrong time after time and is one of the few people who will actually walk into their territory to actually fight for gun rights in the face of a hostile crowd. If they truly want to push their agenda, one of the first steps is bringing down Loesch.

Of course, that’s easier said than done, especially when it’s done by people who are trying to self-victimize while on the attack like Scarborough and Brzezinski.

But whether they succeed or not — heavy emphasis on “not” — what they are doing is directing an inordinate amount of hate toward a woman who has only ever promoted the idea of gun safety and education while fiercely defending law-abiding gun owners right to have a firearm. Loesch has already had to move before due to the threats that have come her way, and here the mainstream media is making the problem worse.

But what else is new for them?

I want to apologize in advance for what I’m about to subject you to. Just to be clear, I take no pleasure in this but seeing as how I’ve seen it, and misery loves company, I’m going to have you suffer with me.

The comic about freshman New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) titled “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the Freshman Force: New Party Who Dis?” has some very fascinating depictions of politicians and their interactions throughout its pages.

In one panel we have AOC physically assaulting President Donald Trump and then shaving his head before putting him in jail. We also a shredded mike pence standing shirtless in front of a waving LGBT rainbow flag as we’re informed he sought forgiveness from the gay community. The NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch even makes an appearance.

But all of that is nothing compared to how the comic depicts House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Crazytown). The assault upon the eyes and mind is such that there isn’t enough bleach in the world that could scrub that stain from your mind.

Pelosi, to put it simply, is depicted as a very muscular woman. That’s not the worst part.

The worst part is that it depicts her coming out of the shower.

I’m not sure what the human race ever did to Ocasio-Cortez or her fans to deserve this. I can only assume that whatever malicious force is bent on the elimination of our species is using AOC as a conduit through which to channel its eldritch hatred, and has begun its assault on humanity with this devastating opening blow.

May God have mercy on our souls.

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA-15) wants you to know that he’s aware he has white privilege. He also wants you to know that when it comes to choosing a vice presidential candidate, he is committed to picking a woman to be second in charge – because he, you know, respects women and values their opinions so much.

Swalwell posted his tweet Tuesday night but the comments were from a Monday segment on MSNBC‘s “All In” program with host Joy Reid. Here’s what she asked him – and his answer:

In the MSNBC interview, which aired Monday, Swalwell was addressing a question from host Joy Reid, who said there was a “lot of consternation among women” who look at the field of 2020 candidates – which includes a number of women and minorities – and see “the white guys are all polling up at the top.”

[…]

“I don’t think anyone’s identity should hold them back, but I think the next president should see all races, all identities,” he said in a clip from an interview with MSNBC’s “All In” that he included with his tweet. “And I would put forward policies that would make sure that inherent bias that exists, or discrimination that exists, in communities would be eliminated.”

He vowed to “make sure that everyone, everywhere has opportunities.”

It’s interesting Swalwell feigns respect for diversity and says a person’s “identity should not hold them back”, that he will “pass the mic” to his female VP pick when you consider his snide refusal last week to debate NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch.

Loesch called him out for his blatant sexism, noting that he was willing to debate a man, but not her:

If he truly respected women with diverse opinions, he would answer Loesch. But he’s a flaming hypocrite who puts style over substance, and values earning cheap Democratic street cred over legit policy debates on hot button issues.

What a clown show he is. An absolute clown show.

Like brave Sir Robin before him, 2020 presidential candidate Eric Swalwell bravely ran away, away when his call for a one on one debate with an NRA president was answered by none other than NRA spokeswoman and radio show host Dana Loesch.

Swalwell has been running on an anti-gun platform, which naturally found him squarely on the opposite side from Loesch. The two have exchanged many tweets over time, however, Swalwell initially tried to pretend he didn’t know who Loesch was, causing the internet to correct his demonstrably false assertion.

Swalwell seems to have dropped the act now and is now taking the “why are you so obsessed with me” route of denouncing his opponents. To add onto that, Swalwell attempted to dismiss Loesch as beneath him to debate, saying that he doesn’t deal with “mouthpieces.” Instead, Swalwell said he wants NRA president Oliver North.

Loesch corrected his timeline, noting that she actually didn’t spend all day blowing up his timeline and sent him a few tweets as a response to tweets he sent her in the first place. Loesch also pointed out that by refusing to deal with her and asking for a man, by the rules of the left, Swalwell was being pretty sexist.

Swalwell ignored Loesch and instead called the NRA leadership cowards for not coming forward to debate him.

Loesch, however, once again offered to be Swalwell’s Huckleberry, adding “unless you’re afraid to lose.”

Not so surprisingly, brave Sir Swalwell ran away, or at least hasn’t attempted to rebut Loesch.

It’s likely that Swalwell knows that when it comes to facing down Loesch that it will be a miserable defeat for him. Swalwell’s entire narrative relies on the fact that he doesn’t actually engage in debate and probably knows that North won’t take the time out of his day to give Swalwell what he wants.

Loesch, as the spokeswoman, is more than willing to step up to the plate and actually give Swalwell the debate he wants, and if there’s one thing Swalwell wants to avoid at all costs, it’s an actual back and forth. The narrative he’s crafted would collapse immediately and he likely knows it.

Loesch’s jab that he’s scared to lose wasn’t just a play on Swalwell’s ego to debate her. It was bringing what Swalwell knows would be the end result to the forefront and letting everyone know that he knows it.

Eric Swalwell Caught Lying On Not Knowing Who Dana Loesch Is, Is Roundly Mocked

Anti-gun Presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell embarrassed himself on Tuesday when he attempted to express no knowledge about who radio show host and NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch is, and quickly found himself surrounded in examples of him knowing exactly who she is.

Responding to gun control Moms Demand head Shannon Watts tweet about Loesch attacking Swalwell over his pipe dream of banning every gun in America, Swalwell attempted to say he had no idea who Loesch was but that she sure is obsessed with him.

“Thank you, Shannon,” tweeted Swalwell. “I spoke at the funeral of a police officer killed by gun violence. I’m running for President to protect them, too. I don’t know who [Dana Loesch] is, but it looks like she spends more time worrying about me than she does for gun violence victims.”

The only problem is that, as Twitchy highlighted, Swalwell has a history of butting heads with Loesch on Twitter.

Loesch immediately called out Swalwell for the lie, and then asked him directly how he planned to confiscate the firearms of millions of legally gun owning American.

“You’ve directly addressed me many times, so let’s not do that,” tweeted Loesch. “Actually, it looks like you worry more about law-abiding Americans than criminals. Tell me Rep. Swalwell, how do you plan to confiscate millions of legally-owned firearms, as you said you would on CNN?”

Loesch wasn’t the only one who called Swalwell out.

Stephen Gutowski of the Washington Free Beacon also called out Swalwell, adding that a 2020 hopeful running on an anti-gun platform and not knowing the NRA’s most popular spokesperson isn’t exactly a good look.

Gutowski is correct, but Swalwell has made it very clear that he’s no serious contender for the White House. Previously, Swalwell commented that a war between gun owners and the government would be a short one because the government has nukes, suggesting that the U.S. government would nuke its own people because they wouldn’t give up their right to firearms.

He also posted a recording of a phone call with what sounded like a crazed pro-gun caller threatening war and Swalwell being the first casualty. Swalwell then claimed this caller was a member of the NRA and that he’s not afraid of either entity.

Many believe this was a fake caller, as the person sounds ridiculous and uneducated about firearms, calling the gun’s magazine a “clip,” which is a common thing for gun grabbers tend to get wrong.
