“Fredo” Is a Racist Term Unless the Left Uses It, Including Chris Cuomo’s Guests, Then It’s Fine

“It’s okay when we do it” is the unofficial motto of the left. I’ve said it once before, but it bears repeating now.

In the wake of CNN’s Chris Cuomo flipping out over someone labeling him as “Fredo,” the left rushed to his defense by referring to the name as “racist against Italians.”

To be clear, “Fredo” is not a racist term, and is an attack on someone’s weak character. Still, Cuomo and the left can’t hear something unpleasant to their ears without firing off the term “racist” like they’re the seagulls in Finding Nemo.

Interestingly, the left likes to use the term Fredo itself before this. Here are a few examples, including a CNN host using it.

Here’s George Takei calling Donald Trump Jr. “Fredo.”

Here’s Vanity Fair using it to describe the Trump administration.

And for the pièce de résistance, here’s CNN contributor Anna Navarro calling Trump Jr. “Fredo”…on Chris Cuomo’s show!

Apparently, using the term is only offensive if it’s used against someone on the left who takes it way too defensively and adopts a tough-guy Italian-American accent as a defense.

Use it to describe a Trump family member or his administration and it’s no longer a slur, it’s somehow and accurate descriptor. If you’re wondering why people can no longer take the left’s claims of “racism” seriously anymore, this is why.

As I wrote earlier, the left has no real defense for themselves as confronting public figures during their off-hours is something they themselves have encouraged. This includes Cuomo, who sat back and defended Antifa after they attempted to raid the home of Fox News host Tucker Carlson, forcing his family to hide in the pantry. His network also doxxed an old lady for simply standing up for the Covington Catholic kids over a smirk.

This outrage from the left is purely for show. They don’t really think “Fredo” is a racial slur, they just want the public to believe it is in order to foster the “right is racist” narrative.

An east Baltimore, MD neighborhood in the summer of 2018. Screen grab via Fox 45 – Baltimore.

As Brandon Morse reported last week, conservative activist Scott Presler did a good thing by organizing a community cleanup earlier this month of the poverty-stricken areas of Baltimore that are plagued by trash dumping and the failure of the city to pick up the trash on a consistent basis. To recap:

After President Donald Trump drew attention to Baltimore, some of his supporters went down to West Baltimore to assist with a cleanup effort. The group posted pictures of the effort with before and after photos and found some interesting things along the way.

According to OANN, the group was led by activist Scott Presler, who lead over 100 volunteers after the controversy first arose in the media. Presler said his cleanup effort started with a simple tweet about going to clean up Baltimore, even if it’s just by himself. The tweet went viral, and before he knew it the effort had a slew of volunteers ready to go.

The residents themselves were highly grateful and didn’t seem to be angry at Trump whatsoever.

Presler’s cleanup and the photos and videos he posted afterwards caught the attention of the liberal editorial board snobs at the Baltimore Sun, who wrote a sneering editorial in the immediate aftermath that focused more on what they believed Presler’s motivations were than the actual good deeds that were performed. Here’s just some of what they said (bolded emphasis added):

Whatever he says his motives were, Mr. Presler’s presence in Baltimore reinforces the tired image of our failing urban cores. That the poor people in this dilapidated city can’t take care of their own neighborhoods and all the public officials around them have failed as well. The bureaucratic, all-talk Democrats strike again. If a crowd of volunteers could clean up 12 tons of trash in 12 hours, how incompetent and helpless must Baltimoreans be if they can’t manage it in decades, right?

In short, the paper was far more concerned with the fact that Presler and his team made Democrats at the local, state, and national level (like longtime Rep. Elijah Cummings) look bad than they were with what was actually done by the volunteers to clean up the piles of trash and bring the community together.

The BS editorial board also indicated they were skeptical that Presler would return as he had said he would:

We also hope Mr. Presler keeps his promise to return to Baltimore once a month. It would definitely give his motives more credibility.

[…]

In the meantime, we’ll see how clean the neighborhood still is when he returns in September.

They needn’t be skeptical anymore. Presler alerted them Monday in a tweet that planning for the second cleanup effort was already underway:

To get a good idea of what Presler and his team first came up against when they visited the city, watch this video done by Fox 45 last year of a tour they went on with then-Mayor Catherine Pugh (D) of the hardest-hit areas of the city:

A firm September date has not yet been given by Presler as to when the cleanup crew will be returning to Baltimore. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks.

The Left Doesn’t Get to be Mad that Someone Publicly Confronted Chris “Fredo” Cuomo

I’ve never been a fan of the idea that you should find your political opponents in public and make a display of confronting them. I always found the action more on the sinister side than anything brave or righteous.

But there’s very little brave or righteous about mainstream leftist politics. The trend of finding a right-leaning figure in public and essentially chasing them out of the area was encouraged by actual Democratic politicians like Rep. Maxine Waters and Sen. Cory Booker. As a result, you had various incidents where an activist or politician was cornered by crazed left-leaning protesters who think they’re doing the dark lord’s work by being complete tools.

Regardless, people like Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens of TPUSA were chased out of a restaurant. Kirk even had a bottle of liquid poured on him. Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi were chased out of a restaurant as well. In fact, Cruz seems to be a favorite target of the left for public confrontation, as he was very recently surrounded by protesters at LAX.

Yet, hilariously, the left seems to be aghast that CNN’s Chris Cuomo was confronted in public.

In a now-viral video, a man is seen calling Cuomo “Fredo.” Cuomo doesn’t take kindly to this, dons his best Italian-American tough-guy accent, and proceeds to threaten the man with violence.

It’s pretty funny.

As I wrote earlier, YouTube is already trying to ban the video by claiming it qualifies as harassment. You can still see the video of Cruz being confronted in the restaurant, however, and from major media publications no less.

The outrage continued with CNN spokesman and VP Matt Dornic, who claimed Cuomo was defending himself from an ethnic slur.

Let’s pause here for a moment and make something incredibly clear. “Fredo” is not an ethnic slur. It’s a character insult, and the left knows it, but everything is racist.

Others also voiced their outrage that Cuomo was publicly confronted.

Once again, I want to make it clear that public people minding their own in public shouldn’t be harassed, and I’m not particularly applauding the guy who instigated Fredo’s meltdown, but Fredo did choose to have a meltdown instead of shrugging it off and walking away as Cruz does, and that’s the entire reason this is now a story.

But what should be understood here is that Cuomo is one of the people who encouraged confrontation. In fact, Cuomo has defended Antifa twice, and that group is famous for its intimidation tactics, including an incident where Antifa went to the home of Fox News’s Tucker Carlson and attempting to gain entry while making threats as Carlson’s wife and children hid in the pantry.

I think public figures should be left alone when not on the job, especially when they’re with their families.

That said, if Cuomo and the left think this is wrong, then they should think it’s wrong across the board. If you live by the sword, you get harassed by the sword.

CNN’s Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo spar – 6/18/19. Screen grab via CNN.

“What You Talking About Fredo?”

“Let’s Get After It” indeed Fredo.

We always love to have fun with the fine folks over at CNN and the unique way that they report things and or spin the news during the day. In fact, I watch CNN more often than any other news channel being I enjoy picking through what they are doing. I find it relaxing.

The two partisan hacks that I love to follow the most are Chris “Fredo” Cuomo and Don Lemon. They both parade as journalists but are just progressive spinsters that are not particularly interested in the facts, just spin for their world view. When it came to which one would snap publicly though, I always thought it would be Don Lemon. I was wrong, and my apologies to the family of Fredo Cuomo.

In a HILARIOUS video posted late Monday night of our hero CNN anchor of Italian heritage, shows him losing his #$%^ over being called Fredo by some people who must be right-wing provocateurs. According to Fredo Cuomo’s hometown paper the New York Post

A man sent cable news host Chris Cuomo into a flying rage when he called the anchor “Fredo” — an apparent insult referencing Fredo Corleone, the ineffective son of Vito Corleone in “The Godfather.”

“Punk ass bitches from the right call me ‘Fredo.’ My name is Chris Cuomo, I’m an anchor on CNN,” the newsman says in the video, which was shared on Twitter Monday evening.

“Fredo is from the ‘Godfather,’ he was a weak brother and the use of it to an Italian is disparaging,” he continues.

The 49-year-old anchor tells the man that the name “Fredo” is as offensive to Italian Americans as the n-word is to African Americans.

“Don’t f–ing insult me like that,” the Queens native fumes. “You call me ‘Fredo’ it’s like I call you punk b–ch, you like that?”

Fredo is taking this LETS GET AFTER IT slogan literally.

Now lets ACTUALLY do something that Chris and Don seem incapable of doing on their shows…breaking something down logically.

Everyone has a bad day. Chris “Fredo” Cuomo maybe was tired from a long weekend running around with the family or possibly he had been told his show had been once again beaten by reruns on the Disney Channel. So I’m going to give him some slack for someone getting on his last nerve.

However, getting pissed off because someone called you Fredo!?!?! You are NOT serious. Also saying that this is comparable to using the “N” word for African Americans is laughable. I’m sure Don Lemon even choked back his latte after hearing that.

You are getting paid millions of dollars a year to spew B.S., your family is taken care of and you decide that being called “Fredo” is the absolute worst thing you could be called on a Sunday afternoon? Chris, you better check yourself before you wreck yourself. You should be more concerned about being called a hack journalist that has ridden his Dad’s coattails to a cushy job than being called the name of a fictional character.

One last thing.

Everyone knows that you never threaten to throw someone down the stairs, you just do it if you really think it is warranted. These talking heads on T.V. really need to do a better job of being threatening. I would have started to crack up had he said that to me all the while just watching him struggle to think of the next line to come up with. When you don’t have a teleprompter it is hard to go it alone with words. Fredo does not make a very intimidating T.V. tough guy just like he wasn’t in the movies.

I don’t want CNN to fire him but they should damn well suspend him. From the looks of the CNN statement, they won’t do anything via this garbage press release…

A CNN spokesperson told The Post: “Chris Cuomo defended himself when he was verbally attacked with the use of an ethnic slur in an orchestrated setup. We completely support him.”

You do not threaten to bust someone up for being called Fredo Corleone. If you do, you should get suspended and move on. I get people having a bad day but you are representing a corporation and threatening to wipe out some dude for calling you a name. That is just silly.

In the meantime, if your brother the Governor of New York asks you to go for a boat ride fishing, you might want to skip out on that. We would not Fredo history repeating itself now would we?

The Past Week Proves That It’s More Than ‘Just Gaffes’ For Biden

Westlake Legal Group Joe-Biden The Past Week Proves That It’s More Than ‘Just Gaffes’ For Biden Politics Joe Biden's age Joe Biden gaffe's Joe Biden Front Page Stories Featured Story elections donald trump democrats Allow Media Exception 2020

When voters are asked which Democratic presidential hopeful has the best chance of defeating President Trump, Joe Biden consistently crushes the competition.

He is seen as the most electable of them all, not for any particular achievements or attributes, but essentially because he is the “least bad” candidate among the largely unimpressive field.

The former vice president has always been known to be gaffe prone, but his blunders over the last week   went well beyond gaffe territory and have left some voters wondering if he has become “too old” to serve.

I consider his remark that “poor kids are just as bright as white kids” to be a gaffe. He would have said something like that ten years ago, even 30 years ago. However, when Biden gave an account of the Parkland survivors visit to the White House, an event which took place in February 2018, it became something else entirely.

Speaking at a gun control forum on Saturday in Des Moines, IA, he told supporters, “I met with them and then they went off up on the Hill when I was vice president.” Later on, he said, “Those kids in Parkland came up to see me when I was vice president,” and then spoke about members of Congress ducking meetings with the students.

The following day, Team Biden’s deputy campaign manager and communications director, Kate Bedingfield, tried her best to mitigate the damage her boss had done. She tweeted, “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a president who consoles Americans in their time of need so often that he sometimes mistakes the timing? But even more so, wouldn’t it be nice to have a president who actually fights to prevent these tragedies?”

Nice try Kate.

If his Parkland comments had been an isolated moment, this wouldn’t be an issue.

But these instances keep piling up. From the moment Biden launched his campaign, questions began to swirl about his ability to endure an 18-month campaign. Below is a clip from his kickoff rally speech.

Earlier this spring, President Trump said Joe Biden is not the political athlete he once was.

(The relevant portion begins at 1:50 in the video.)

We all age at different rates, and while many people retain their cognitive abilities well into their 90s, others begin to lose their sharpness earlier.

A headline over the weekend in The Wall Street Journal read, “The latest missteps by Democratic presidential front-runner give some party activists anxiety over whether he still has the stuff.”

And Democrats need to give some serious thought to this. Biden will turn 77 in November. And should he win the presidency, he would take office at the age of 78. He mental acuity would be farther along by another year and a half.

Biden’s performance in the first debate was dismal. He was shredded by Kamala Harris. He appeared weak and people noticed.

Ocasio-Cortez told The New Yorker that Biden’s performance raised questions about his cognitive abilities.

And she was far from alone.

Biden recovered somewhat in the second debate, but his recent week of wall-to-wall gaffes have Democrats concerned.

The New York Times reported that, “Recent interviews with more than 50 Democratic voters and party officials across four states, as well as with political strategists and some of Mr. Biden’s own donors, showed significant unease about Mr. Biden’s ability to be a reliably crisp and effective messenger against Mr. Trump.”

Until Biden announced his candidacy in April, he had been largely out of the public eye since he left office. The difference between then and now is striking. He looks old. He moves old. He acts old.

Maybe he’s no longer the Democrats’ best hope to defeat President Trump.

Joe Scarborough has a fever and the only cure is more Russia hoax.

Saturday, accused sex trafficker and pedophile (technically ephebophile because I don’t want the real pedophiles in the Democrat party to get angry at me) was found a victim of Arkan-cide (and this is a joke, I shouldn’t have to underline it but I will) hanged in his cell at the federal lockup in New York City.

In short order, you see these tweets by various leftwing idiots

(Yo, Ron, dude, you can take off the make-up, they stopped filming Beauty and the Beast years ago.)

And this from the outer space

You expect it from these morons because that’s what they do. They are simply saying whatever they need to say to excite the crotches of their fan base. And that is a pretty low bar to cross.

But then you get this:

Westlake Legal Group scarborough-620x446 Joe Scarborough Sees Russian Influence in the Epstein Suicide Politics Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump democrats Allow Media Exception

On the one hand, one shouldn’t be surprised. Scarborough is a man who has repeatedly demonstrated that he has questionable honor or integrity. He abandoned his family for a mistress…at least once. He shamelessly sucked up to Donald Trump to the extent of rehearsing interview questions with him and even partied with the Trump campaign after Trump’s New Hampshire victory. Then, in a sudden volte face, he peddles every conceivable conspiracy theory involving Trump and Russia for nearly three years. Scarborough tried to keep the fraudulent dossier and the equally fraudulent Mueller investigation afloat long after both were obviously self destructing.

But, on the other hand, it is sort of amazing that someone who fancies himself a journalist of one stripe or another would further degrade himself by essentially starting his own conspiracy theory…naturally centered on Russia. In fact, his own vestigial conscience apparently kicked in as he has since deleted the tweet. This part of the equation is most puzzling because Scarborough, himself, was subject of all manner of conspiracy theories after an intern was found dead in his office. You’d think he’s at least be sympathetic to the idea of not making baseless accusations of complicity in murder having had them made against him.

When he was called to account even by some of the worst names in the business…imagine having tentacle-porn connoisseur Kurt Eichenwald question your judgment…he tried to play it off as a “glib” tweet.

Here’s the guy who doxxes meme makers for a living

Even Qatar was offended…or maybe Wikileaks

Scarborough, of course, is welcome to sling whatever bullsh** he thinks will keep his audience amused and those paychecks coming in, after all, alimony and child support can’t be all that cheap. What is sort of stunning is that no one at MSNBC even cares.

“Slippery Slope”: Steve Scalise Warns of the Dangers of Blaming Politicians for the Actions of Mass Shooters

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA-1) speaks on “Face the Nation” – 8/11/19. Screen grab via CBS News.

In the immediate aftermath of the horrific mass shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH earlier this month that left 32 dead and dozens more injured, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA-1) issued a statement condeming the attacks as well as the political bickering that ensued shortly thereafter.

Scalise wrote, in part:

“In a media culture that encourages viewing people solely through hyper-partisan lenses, and not as neighbors and fellow citizens, dangerous division and hatred of those you disagree with is the outcome. This can often lead to violent consequences, as I have personally experienced.

These events are tragedies. Reducing them to talking points and name-calling in support of narrow political agendas only further divides our country.”

The following week, Scalise drew on his experience as a victim of politically-motivated violence when answering questions on whether or not full or partial blame for mass shootings should be assigned to politicians and their rhetoric in an interview he did yesterday on CBS News‘s “Face the Nation” program:

“To try to assign blame to somebody else is a very slippery slope because the president is no more responsible for that shooting as your next guest Bernie Sanders is for my shooting,” Scalise said on “Face the Nation”:

The Louisiana Republican was referring to the massacre in an El Paso Walmart last Saturday and a shooting in 2017 in which a gunman — who authorities later surmised was fueled by “rage against Republican legislators”* — critically wounded Scalise and others while they were practicing for a congressional baseball game.

*Note: CBS News did not note that the perpetrator of Scalise’s attack was a supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)

During the interview, Scalise also slammed Democratic presidential candidates who were pinning the blame directly on President Trump for what happened in El Paso:

“I know they’re running for president and they might not like Donald Trump’s views but stop this ridiculous assessment of blame to somebody other than the person who’s responsible,” he said.

Pressed again about Mr. Trump’s use of words like “invasion” when referring to migrants, Scalise demurred, noting that the president denounced racism and white supremacy during a White House address last week. He reiterated that all the blame lays with the shooters.

“Let’s try to identify these shooters in a better way which right now we’re working on doing let’s put more emphasis there,” Scalise said.

Watch the the segment below:

You can read the full transcript of his interview here.

The House Minority Whip was not asked to expand on his thoughts regarding his Congressional colleague Rep. Joaquin Castro’s (D-TX-20) doxxing of 44 Trump donors from his Congressional district last week, which Scalise condemned on Twitter the day after Castro published the information.

“People should not be personally targeted for their political views. Period. This isn’t a game. It’s dangerous, and lives are at stake. I know this firsthand,” Scalise tweeted at the time.

Beto O’Rourke seems intent upon making the biggest goofball possible of himself.

Among other ridiculousness, he’s promised to fight against privileged wealth — as he backstrokes in his own, from inheritance and nuptials (here).

When a politician promises to wage war against the wealthy, that sounds to me as if he’s/she’s focused on American failure rather than success. Or, at least, that they’re trying to win the poor’s vote by making them covetous. Still, I’ll listen to every single word they have to say — so long as they first give away 100% of their net worth, minus that of the average American.

Otherwise, they’re full of it.

Given his rhetoric, Beto’s several millions of dollars away from me pencilling him in.

Wanna see what marrying into a half-billion dollar family and trying to pretend otherwise looks like? Wanna watch someone try to gain the White House as something they’re not, rather than who they really are?

This may be his goofiest move yet.

On Monday, the a**-waxing, ball-scrubbing poet posted a video:

Hey — that dude must be an Ultimate Everyman!

He must be just like me! Welp, that settles it — he’s got my vote.

All he has to do now is put all his cash in the back of that truck and whistle and wait.

It should be empty by sundown.

In the meantime…

GYAH.

Hey, Beto, millionaires don’t have to change tires. I know a guy who delivers sandwiches for a living, and even he has AAA. You can certainly be rich and do your own work; but c’mon, dude. A video of it?? Why?

Witness the Twitter:

He certainly does look really, really together and not at all sweaty to be changing a giant tire in August in Texas.

Geez.

I anxiously await your comments.

C-SPAN Guest: Background Checks Didn’t Prevent El Paso or Dayton, and Universal Checks May Not Have, Either

Westlake Legal Group street-advertising-manhattan-sign-nyc-banner-423461-pxhere.com_-620x413 C-SPAN Guest: Background Checks Didn’t Prevent El Paso or Dayton, and Universal Checks May Not Have, Either white house washington journal washington D.C. Uncategorized Texas Stephen Gutowski Ohio mass shootings law Guns gun control Government Front Page Stories El Paso donald trump democrats dayton Culture crime C-Span background checks Allow Media Exception

Journalist Stephen Gutowski guested on C-SPAN Monday to point out a notable truth about recent mass murders in El Paso and Dayton: background checks didn’t prevent them.

Furthermore, a universal background check wouldn’t necessarily have, either.

Stephen explained to the host of Washington Journal that, as per the law, all firearms dealers must be federally licensed and submit background checks on any and all gun sales:

“If you go to a gun store, there’s a background check. If you buy a gun from them at a gun show, if you buy from a licensed dealer, someone at a gun store, you have to do a background check. If you buy online from a licensed dealer, there’s a background check.”

Private sales, of course, are a different matter. They’re not regulated by the feds, so only state laws apply. So-called universal background checks would end that exception:

“If a private individual sells a gun to another private individual on the secondary market, within their own state, then there’s no federal regulation on that, a background check is not required. Universal background checks would require background checks on those sales as well. Basically, on almost any transfer of a gun between two people there would have to have a background check.”

As for “somebody who is a convicted felon or who has been adjudicated mentally ill,” firearm purchases are always illegal. In fact, it’s against the law to let someone in that boat even hold a gun, he said.

How does all this play into the massacres in Texas and Ohio?

“As far as the effectiveness of background checks, especially in regards to universal or especially in regards to the recent shootings, the last three attacks, all three of those shooters went through the legal process and had a background check and passed it. So as far as this as a response to these recent shootings, this kind of proposal, it wouldn’t necessarily have stopped these particular shootings. Advocates say it would generally reduce crime. That’s the claim at least.”

So one of the ways in which politicians are trumpeting regulation in the aftermath of tragedies doesn’t really address those tragedies; sounds about right.

On the Democratic side, fighting for changes almost wholly unrelated to catalysts for fighting for those changes seems a veritable way of life — recently, Biden fought for a ban on the scariest guns rather than the deadliest (here), and Beto O’Rourke fingered Trump as the reason people got shot (here).

Beto’s out fighting ghosts today (here) — he must think it’s a bonafied presidential look.

President Trump has called for background checks, as well. I’m not suggesting they’re a bad idea. They will, possibly, make it more difficult for those who shouldn’t have weapons to attain them. Although, given the personalities in Congress, it may be wise to question what criteria in the future may be used to keep guns out of the hands of Americans more broadly.

It’s certainly virtuous to question what could’ve stopped the slayings of August 3rd and 4th. But the answers may look like something entirely different than legislation.

We’ve lost something in the fabric of society. We’ve lost family, religion, and community. Society has lost some its reasons to function according to the Golden Rule (please see here, here, and here).

And no law can fix that. Neither can a background check.
