Greta Thunberg in Iowa Speech: ‘World leaders keep acting like children, somebody needs to be the adult in the room’.

Since her arrival to the U.S. in August, Greta Thunberg has taken the American left by storm. Perhaps it’s because of the constant sour look upon her face which resembles the Grinch before his heart grew, or what I consider to be the undeserved glory she receives, I’ve developed an aversion to all things Greta Thunberg.

A recent headline in The Daily Mail tells us that Thunberg is “tipped to win” the Nobel Peace Prize next week. I’ve wondered what this 16-year-old girl, who has quickly become the face of climate change worldwide, has accomplished that might qualify her for such an honor.

On Friday, Thunberg made headlines for a speech she delivered at the Iowa City Climate Strikers. She drove there in a Tesla. That’s about as virtuous as her trip across the ocean in a £15 million sailing yacht.

After being introduced, Thunberg appeared humbled by the turnout of young, like-minded students who gathered on short notice to attend her speech, which surprised me. I hadn’t thought her capable of humility. “Wow. It’s just so many people I don’t think any of us expected this many people. This is real hope, so many people gathering on a weekday at such short notice. This is real hope to me.”

Then, as if a switch was flipped, she turned into the Greta we’ve come to know. She told the crowd, “And we realize we are on indigenous Iowa land, the land of Sioux and Meskwaki.” I guess she thinks that’s our fault.

She continued:

We told world leaders to act on the science and we demanded a safe future for us and for everyone. But they didn’t listen. As we all know, the human climate action summit was a faliure. That was, unfortunately, what we had expected. To stand behind and speak the science is still too uncomfortable for them. That needs to change.

We teenagers and children shouldn’t have to take the responsibility, but right now the world leaders keep acting like children and somebody needs to be the adult in the room.

We promise we will go on every Friday for as long as it takes and the next Global Climate Strike is on November 29. But of course, we strike every week. And we have to prepare ourselves to go on for a very long time. For years. But that will not stop us. We have reached a tipping point where enough people have had enough. Together we are unstoppable.

And we will not beg world leaders to care and to act. They have ignored us in the past and they will ignore us again. We will instead tell them that if they won’t do it, then we will.

Because the world is waking up and we are the change and change is coming whether they like it or not.

This generation believes all they need to do is demand something and they will receive it.

Action to Thunberg and her followers is holding a strike or delivering a speech. She reminds the crowd of the date of the next Global Climate Strike and tells them, “of course, we strike every week.”

They can strike all they’d like, but striking is not action. Action is organizing a team of 200 volunteers and spending the day cleaning up a filthy homeless camp in Los Angeles as activist Scott Presler did last month. He and his group donned hazmat suits and removed over 50 tons of garbage. Prior to that, they spent a weekend cleaning up a sliver of Baltimore. And he has a second clean up scheduled this month in Baltimore. Presler knows that participating in a strike every Friday for the rest of his life won’t clean up American cities. That’s how it’s done Greta.

Action is not standing on a stage and being applauded for talking the talk. Real action involves rolling up your sleeves and walking the walk like Presler.

After listening to her remarks in Iowa and at several other venues, I realize my first impression of this young woman was correct. She is disrespectful, disdainful and ungrateful. Why so many Americans have become so captivated by this hypocrite baffles me.

In her closing remarks, Thunberg channeled a speech delivered by then-candidate Barack Obama. She tells the crowd, “we are the change.” On the campaign trail, Obama told his supporters, “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

And the two share another distinction. They were both nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize based on their speeches alone. The deadline to submit nominations for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was February 1, 2009. Obama took office on January 20, 2009. As we all know, he won the award.

Recently, Sky News Australia’s Alan Jones delivered a scathing monolog in which he referred to Thunberg and her supporters as “selfish, badly educated, virtue-signaling little turds.” He concluded by telling them to “wake up, grow up and shut up until you’re sure of the facts before protesting.”

My colleague, Brandon Morse, wrote a post which has since gone viral about Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson’s response to Thunberg’s speech at the United Nations. It’s very amusing. If you haven’t read it, here is the link.

Here’s an idea, Greta. Go home. Go back to school and learn something about how to combat climate change. Then you can take real action to make it happen.

Watch the video.

Full transcript of Thunberg’s speech (via Iowa City Press-Citizen):

I’m incredibly proud and honored to be here in Iowa City and in beautiful Iowa with all of you — and it’s just so many people. I don’t think any one of us expected this many people.

Special thank you to the organizers and the strikers who have been striking Friday after Friday not giving up: Shoshie (Hemley), Esti (Brady), Yardley (Whaylen), Diego (Biggers), Alex (Howe), Massimo (Biggers) and everyone else. Thank you. I think every one of us owe you a great–we owe you so much. You have really done so much for everyone of us. And we realize we are on indigenous Iowa land, the land of Sioux and Meskwaki. We thank Dawson Davenport and all the Meskwaki people here with us today.

This is the real hope. So many people gathering here on a weekday with such a short notice.

This is real hope to me. Last week and the week before that well over 7 million people joined the climate strikes. Over 7 million people in more than 180 countries. That is not something you can continue to ignore. We told world leaders to act on the science and we demanded a safe future for us and for everyone. But they didn’t listen. As we all know the human climate action summit was a faliure. That was unfortunately what we had expected. To stand behind and speak the science is still too uncomfortable for them. That needs to change.

No matter what, we need to continue. No matter how hopeless this situation may seem like, we must always carry on. We must never allow ourselves to give up. That is simply not an option.

Thank you once again and have a great day. Continue and never give up.

Elizabeth Warren 2007 Calls Out Elizabeth Warren 2019: Is Warren Telling Another Story That Doesn’t Add Up?

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) likes to tell stories about her life.

We all were treated to the stories about her Native American heritage that then became such a boondoggle for her after DNA tests proved she wasn’t much more Native American than the average white American. People then trolled her with the hashtag “1/1024,” the number the test indicated that could possibly be how much Native American ancestry she has.

Now, apparently another one of her stories about her past is taking a hit. And the hit is coming from Elizabeth Warren herself.

The Democratic presidential candidate has a story that she regularly tells now about how she was let go for being “visibly pregnant” when she taught as a special needs teacher.

According to Tommy Christopher at Mediaite, Elizabeth Warren told the story again this week.

“By the end of the first year, I was quite visibly pregnant and the principal didn’t invite me back for the next school year, ” she says on the video at Mediaite. “So I found myself at home with a baby. Yup, those were the days,” seemingly referencing discrimination against pregnant women in careers at the time.

Except Elizabeth Warren 2007 appears to tell a different tale than does Elizabeth Warren 2019, says Christopher and doesn’t mention any discrimination because she was pregnant but indicated the reason she didn’t continue was because she didn’t have the education courses needed. Mediaite has that video as well.

But in a March 8, 2007 interview with Harvard Law Professor Leo Gottlieb, Warren made it clear that such discrimination had nothing to do with the loss of that teaching job.

Warren told Gottlieb how she had earned a full scholarship to George Washington University at 16, and graduated with a degree in speech pathology and audiology, and didn’t mention the commuter college that has become another pillar in her bio. She then explained that she left her public school job after one school year because she lacked the educational credentials to qualify for a permanent position, and that she decided on her own to abandon the calling.

I was married at nineteen and graduated from college after I’d married, and my first year post-graduation I worked in a public school system with the children with disabilities. I did that for a year, and then that summer I didn’t have the education courses, so I was on an “emergency certificate,” it was called. I went back to graduate school and took a couple of courses in education and said, “I don’t think this is going to work out for me.”

So will anyone in MSM be asking Warren about this apparent discrepancy in her stories?

Trump Hits Back At Mitt Romney and Pearls Are Clutched

FILE – In this Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 file photo, Donald Trump greets Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, after announcing his endorsement of Romney during a news conference in Las Vegas. Trump is endorsing Romney in Utah’s Senate race, another sign that the two Republicans are burying the hatchet after a fraught relationship. (AP Photo/Julie Jacobson, File)

If you get on GOP Twitter right now, you’ll witness a distinct division among most Republicans who simply do not like Mitt Romney and those who consistently act like it’s an affront to human decency if you criticize him.

Here’s what Romney had to say yesterday regarding Trump and Ukraine.

And here’s Trump’s response.

The rules are as follows. Romney is always allowed to go after Trump, even before all the facts are in. He can virtue signal his pants off, use words like “appalling,” and make bold proclamations with immunity. But the moment someone goes back at him, it’s automatically responses like this.

I’m seriously starting to think a certain segment of Republicans have a bot that runs in the background of their accounts and anytime Romney is criticized, a post calling him a “good man” is immediately put up.

And that’s the divide illustrated. Some are obsessed with decorum and the idea that Romney is above reproach. Other’s see him as the opportunistic, flip-flopping politician that he is. Let’s not forget that Romney was once unabashedly pro-choice and still supports Roe v. Wade. This is the guy who invented the Obamacare scheme and then opposed it when he ran for President. But he’s “good” because he generally carries himself in a way that makes Bill Kristol happy.

At some point, the Republican establishment class are going to have to accept the fact that Mitt Romney is never going to be a thing again. No matter how many times they tell themselves that Romney would have won in 2016 and Trump only won because Hillary, we aren’t going back. People simply do not like the pompous nature with which he carries himself.

Perhaps the worst part about Romney is how much of a coward he is when it comes to going after anyone but Donald Trump. That’s the easy thing to do. Bashing Trump gets you back slaps on CNN and praise from Morning Joe. There’s nothing brave about mouthing off about the President. What would be brave is Romney putting out a tweet going after Schiff for lying last week and telling Wolf Blitzer that he’s a sucker for having Schiff do it to his face. But did he do that? Of course he didn’t, just like he never put out a tweet criticizing the Obama administration’s behavior in 2016.

But if Trump does something, he’s always there to give his two cents. Most Republicans tired of this game a very long time ago. We notice when the virtue signaling only goes in one direction and it should surprise no one when we don’t respond well to it.

Robby Starbuck put a thread out expressing a common sentiment.

Anyone that thinks Romney is sincere in his one-sided, select criticism of Trump is kidding themselves. This, like everything throughout Romney’s career, is simply about politics and power. He believes he can ride this storm out and keep his hands clean, somehow regaining prominence after 2020. It’s not going to happen and voters will make sure of it.

I’ll end by pointing out the hypocrisy here as well. The same people defending Romney for attacking Trump have repeatedly cited Reagan’s “11th commandment” to assert that Trump shouldn’t  criticize other Republicans. Why doesn’t Romney have to abide by that one? I think we know the answer.

While some are clutching their pearls, I’ve not no problem with Trump hitting back at Romney. The Utah Senator is welcome to not tweet if he doesn’t want to be responded to.

NBC Throws Another Half-Baked Allegation Against President Trump

Westlake Legal Group central-intelligence-agency-620x428 NBC Throws Another Half-Baked Allegation Against President Trump whistleblower complaint Politics nbc Media ken dilanian Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump democrats Courtney Simmons Elwood cia Allow Media Exception

Just when you thought Robert Mueller’s report had put the fabulists, con artists, and outright liars in the mainstream media out of the limelight, along comes another contrived bullsh** conspiracy theory to bring them back to center stage.

This one is from NBC’s Ken Dilanian. Back in 2014, he was revealed to basically be an unpaid asset of the CIA. During the Russia Hoax, he acquired the nickname “Fusion Ken” because it was obvious that he was Fusion GPS’s go-to guy to plan conspiracy theories. So with the close ties to the CIA and Fusion GPS it is hardly a shock that he was the lead writer on CIA’s top lawyer made ‘criminal referral’ on whistleblower’s complaint about Trump conduct.

Weeks before the whistleblower’s complaint became public, the CIA’s top lawyer made what she considered to be a criminal referral to the Justice Department about the whistleblower’s allegations that President Donald Trump abused his office in pressuring the Ukrainian president, U.S. officials familiar with the matter tell NBC News.

The move by the CIA’s general counsel, Trump appointee Courtney Simmons Elwood, meant she and other senior officials had concluded a potential crime had been committed, raising more questions about why the Justice Department later declined to open an investigation.

The phone call that Elwood considered to be a criminal referral is in addition to the referral later received as a letter from the Inspector General for the Intelligence Community regarding the whistleblower complaint.

Justice Department officials said they were unclear whether Elwood was making a criminal referral and followed up with her later to seek clarification but she remained vague.

Elwood, the CIA’s general counsel, first learned about the matter because the complainant, a CIA officer, passed his concerns about the president on to her through a colleague. On Aug. 14, she participated in a conference call with the top national security lawyer at the White House and the chief of the Justice Department’s National Security Division.

On that call, Elwood and John Eisenberg, the top legal adviser to the White House National Security Council, told the top Justice Department national security lawyer, John Demers, that the allegations merited examination by the DOJ, officials said.

According to the officials, Elwood was acting under rules that a report must occur if there is a reasonable basis to the allegations, defined as “facts and circumstances…that would cause a person of reasonable caution to believe that a crime has been, is being, or will be committed.”

A DOJ official said Attorney General William Barr was made aware of the conversation with Elwood and Eisenberg, and their concerns about the president’s behavior, in the days that followed.

The CIA general counsel either made a criminal referral or she did not. There is no universe in which she made something which she “considered to be” a criminal referral because there are actual laws and regulations that define that. The IC IG did make a referral of possible criminal conduct which involved tying campaign finance laws to the rack and stretching them until they were broad enough to cover most anything. Surely, the CIA general counsel is bright enough to know what a criminal referral looks like.

(Let me digress here for a second. The claim that asking the Ukrainian president to investigate probable felonious acts by US citizens, not matter how politically connected they are within the Democrat party, is not a crime. It is a duty. Saying that this qualifies as “something of value” for campaign finance purposes also criminalizes signing trade deals in a campaign year, or signing a treaty, or visiting a foreign capital, or basically any act a president undertakes to create positive news for his administration.)

The alleged misconduct is exactly the same act that DOJ’s Criminal Division investigated. So no matter what she “considered” to have happened, the allegation she allegedly (and keep in mind that we are dealing with Dilanian here) “considered” to have been reported was investigated.

Of course, there is a very good reason why she used a phone call rather than a written referral. She didn’t want to beclown herself. Remember this: “the complainant, a CIA officer, passed his concerns about the president on to her through a colleague.” The complaint she received was gossip delivered by a messenger. Knowing what we currently know about the complainant–he’s a liar who did not tell the IC IG that he was coordinating directly with Adam Schiff’s goons and he apparently worked in direct support of Joe Biden when he served on the NSC–he seems to have been trying to shotgun this allegation. Not only did he go the “whistleblower” route himself, but he scattered the allegations to at least the CIA General Counsel. It is a safe bet that the same meat puppet who delivered the allegations to her also delivered them to the CIA IG. We can probably bet the General Counsel at the ODNI got them, too. Also by cut out.

What is abundantly clear is that there are a non-trivial number of CIA officers who have never accepted Donald Trump’s election and who are still actively involved in sedition even after the Russia Hoax cratered. The quicker that President Trump forces a movement against these people and publicly names and shames (I say shame metaphorically because there is zero evidence these people are capable of shame) them, they are going to continue with this conspiracy to try to bring him down.

They’re Coming for Mike Pence Too

Democrats have been trying to find some reason to impeach President Donald Trump since the moment he was elected.

They thought they might have something with the Mueller investigation. That, of course, didn’t pan out.

Now, they’ve moved on to the Ukraine whistleblower story. But that’s not doing too well either.

However, not only are they trying to get Trump on that one, they’re also seem to be hoping to take down Vice President Mike Pence as well.

Among the people sent requests for information from the House investigating committees was Vice President Mike Pence.

From Fox News:

A letter sent from House Democrats to Vice President Mike Pence requesting documents as part of the impeachment inquiry was based on “fake news,” the vice president’s Chief of Staff Marc Short said Saturday.

Chairman Elijah Cummings, D-Md., Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., gave Pence until October 15 to produce pertinent documents.

Now is this getting more than a little silly or what?

What do they think that Pence is supposed to know?

According to Fox, the chairmen of the Committees wrote, “…public reports have raised questions about any role [Pence] may have played in conveying or reinforcing the President’s stark message to the Ukrainian President.”

No, no rational person thinks that Pence had anything to do with anything.

The only thing he’s done wrong apparently is to be the Vice President and the one standing in line between the presidency and the next in line, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). And if Democrats think they can go there, they really have had their train go off the trolley.

Short said House Democrats only wanted to focus on impeachment and that Americans were tired of it. “President Zelensky himself said he felt no pressure. From the President or the Vice President. That should have ended a lot of these inquiries at that point,” Short declared.

“And, as opposed to working on things that we could actually be working on together — like lowering drug prices or continuing to create new jobs with new trade deals — Democrats want to focus on these continued investigations,” Short lamented.

“I think this administration’s continued to deliver for the American people in rebuilding the military, in securing the border and confirming a record number of judges. And, just yesterday, more evidence of this booming economy with 3.5 percent unemployment rate,” he touted. “The economy is booming. Democrats don’t want to talk about that, and so they’ve been focused on impeachment.”

Short pointed out that there were 21 Democrats in districts Trump won in 2016. He said those folks needed to be pressed, ‘Are you actually going to help your constituents to do things that are beneficial for the American people or are you siding with Nancy Pelosi and these endless investigations?”

The White House has indicated that they will refuse to comply with requests, calling it an illegitimate inquiry because there hasn’t been a formal vote for the inquiry by the full House as has occurred in past cases with Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. House Republicans have registered their displeasure this past week with Pelosi’s handling of the matter on that point as well as on the lack of bipartisan questioning allegedly in some of the committee hearings so far.

Democrats are likely hoping that they can then use the refusal of the White House to call that obstruction and add that as a potential charge.

News Summary from the Week that Was (29 September – 5 October)

Westlake Legal Group censored-620x331-copy News Summary from the Week that Was (29 September – 5 October) Uncategorized Ukrainian collusion in 2016 election Ukraine investigation into 2016 election interference Ukraine socialism religion Media Hillary Clinton Email Scandal Hillary Clinton Front Page Stories Featured Story Economy donald trump democrats Culture & Faith Crooked Hillary Clinton corruption Corrupt Democrats climate alarmism cia scandal Catholic Church bill barr biden Abuse of Power

Here is some of the news from last week that the legacy media buried or obfuscated because the stories don’t fit their “Republicans bad, Democrats good” narrative.

1. This is a great way to get the ball rolling this week! There are a TON of culpable criminals who enabled Shrillary during her tour as secretary of state. She’s always been guilty of mishandling TS/SCI information, too.

[T]he Washington Post reported State Department officials informed up to 130 Clinton aides that they were found to be “culpable” of handling information that was classified lower than they should have been when transmitted through the private server. Although some former Obama administration officials have attempted to discredit the investigation by accusing the Trump administration of targeting them, one official retorted that “the process is set up in a manner to completely avoid any appearance of political bias.”

A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigation into Clinton’s server found at least 100 emails containing classified information, including 65 emails declared “Secret” and 22 regarded as “Top Secret.” Additionally, the State Department retroactively classified 2,093 emails that were not initially marked as such. Some experts charge Clinton broke multiple laws, including 18 U.S. Code § 1924, which forbids “unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material.”

Read the rest here. I’m one of those experts noted in the article based on over 45 years as a national security professional (albeit have never been interviewed and quoted formally). There is no statute of limitations on mishandling classified information (especially of the TS/SCI variety!).

2. Next, Peter Schweizer provides the goods on the Bidens’ corruption that the legacy media continues to hide:

[Peter] Schweizer told host Mark Levin that the former vice president’s son was being paid by Ukraine despite not having expertise in the energy sector while Joe Biden was the “point-person” on former President Barack Obama’s administration in dealing with Ukraine. “The key question here that nobody seems to want to ask in the media is: What was he being paid for? He wasn’t being paid for his expertise. What was he being paid for? And what were the Ukrainians expecting to get in return?” Schweizer stated. “I think when you overlay the financial payments with the fact that Joe Biden as point person on Obama administration policy to Ukraine was steering billions of dollars of Western money to Ukraine it becomes crystal clear exactly why they were paying him money. They wanted access and they wanted to influence Joe Biden. And Joe Biden has been around a long time here, and he had to know exactly why his son was being paid.”

Source. It’s only a matter of time until the stalking horse for Shrillary is forced to retire from the Democrats’ Star Wars bar scene field of wannabes.

3. CNN and MSNBC are infested with former Obama national security and intelligence community political hacks who rail against POTUS, but they won’t touch this story with a 10-foot pole:

Former CIA officer John Kiriakou explained why he feels President Donald Trump should ask the Senate to investigate the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Appearing on Monday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Kiriakou described the difference between an instance during his own employment where he filed a whistleblower complaint, and the highly published complaint regarding Trump’s July 25 phone call to the president of Ukraine. The former CIA officer described his 1996 complaint, then the current one that “went through layers of editing and coordinating and lawyers were involved and managers were involved.”

“It looks like a legal document,” he said. “It doesn’t look like a whistleblower complaint, and that leads me to believe that this whistleblower that we’re talking about is just a face of an entire group that’s at the CIA that’s pushing this forward.” Kiriakou speculated that the complaint likely went “through the chain of command” to CIA Director Gina Haspel herself before landing at the office of the DNI.

Read the rest here. The experienced among us know that is was a set-up and political hit-job yet again, folks. Period.

4. Joe Biden is running scared on the Ukraine issue. He’s trying to squelch political free speech by using his campaign to pressure networks to not interview Rudy Giuliani:

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign demanded on Sunday that news networks stop booking Rudy Giuliani for interviews, handing President Donald Trump and his allies a new talking point against the former vice president. Biden’s campaign sent a letter to executives and anchors at ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC, according to the NYT, which first obtained the letter. In it, Biden campaign officials Anita Dunn and Kate Bedingfield call interviews with Giuliani “a disservice to journalism.”

“We are writing today with grave concern that you continue to book Rudy Giuliani on your air to spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of Donald Trump,” the letter begins. “While you often fact check his statements in real time during your discussions, that is no longer enough. By giving him your air time, you are allowing him to introduce increasingly unhinged, unfounded and desperate lies into the national conversation.”

Read the rest here. Biden’s toast. That video of him bragging that he forced the Ukrainian president to fire the prosecutor investigating his son Hunter and Burisma Holdings sounded his political death knell. It’s just a matter of time until he’s gone.

5. More on Ukraine that the anti-Trump media and Democrats are ignoring – but it’s going to bite them all BIGLY where the sun don’t shine!

[T]he president never spoke with Attorney General William Barr “about having Ukraine investigate anything relating to former Vice President Biden or his son” or asked him to contact Ukraine “on this or any other matter,” and that the attorney general has not communicated at all with Ukraine. It also contains the following morsel: “A Department of Justice team led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is separately exploring the extent to which a number of countries, including Ukraine, played a role in the counterintelligence investigation directed at the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

While the Attorney General has yet to contact Ukraine in connection with this investigation, certain Ukrainians who are not members of the government have volunteered information to Mr. Durham, which he is evaluating.” When you grope through the miasma of Slavic names and follow the daisy chain of related people and entities, it appears that Ukrainian officials who backed the Clinton campaign provided information that generated the investigation of Mr. Manafort—acts that one Ukrainian court has said violated Ukrainian law and “led to interference in the electoral processes of the United States in 2016 and harmed the interests of Ukraine as a state.”

Read the rest here. Bit by bit, the real truth about Ukraine is seeping out – and it AIN’T good for the Democrats.

6. It’s about time the vegans got a little pushback. This is one less thing that the leftist fascists can force down our throats.

A new study states that previous claims of the harm done by eating beef and pork are inaccurate. It was thought for decades that eating too much red meat contributes to heart disease, diabetes, and certain forms of cancer. But the study, published Monday in the Annals of Internal Medicine, concluded that meat was probably only a contributing factor to disease — not decisive — and cutting consumption would only marginally improve risk factors.

Read the rest here. Another long-held leftwing myth is debunked. Who knew?

7. The Democrats are rushing headlong to impeach @POTUS no matter what. It’s not going to work out for them they way they think it will.

Back in 2017, Rep. Adam Schiff was crowing that there was evidence in plain sight that Donald Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election. The intel committee boss never produced the evidence and neither did Robert Mueller with his police-state tactics. Schiff has now turned to improvised dialogue about President Trump pressuring Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden in exchange for military aid. That is a tough act to follow but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is up to the task.

President Trump is like Paul Newman in Absence of Malice, being set up by someone with no face and no name. The whistleblower is reportedly a CIA employee but the president wants to know who this person is and face his accuser. The accuser is being represented by Andrew Bakaj, a former CIA officer who says the whistleblower “is entitled to anonymity.” Democrats want more of Trump’s phone calls with Vladimir Putin and other world leaders. Adam Schiff wants to see if “the president was also undermining our security in a way that he thought would personally benefit his campaign.” For his part, Trump wants Schiff questioned “at the highest level for Fraud & Treason,” and he wants to know who was spying on him.

Progressives believe they have somehow escaped the repressive conditioning of the masses and are wise enough to usher in the utopian state. This has all been predetermined by history, so if the progressive candidate loses, it can only be due to trickery or theft. Progressive candidates cannot accept that outsider Donald Trump defeated … Hillary Clinton. Democrats are worried that if they don’t impeach Trump he will win again in 2020. Others don’t care about the election and just want him impeached by any means necessary.

President Trump, the most powerful man in the world, could extend deployment of his power to declassify. That could prove interesting, even for someone like POTUS 44, who in 2012 told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have “more flexibility” to deal with contentious issues like missile defense after the U.S. presidential election. And of course he and Hillary Clinton gave the Russians everything they wanted. They also colluded with Russia to take down candidate and President Trump. Vice President Joe Biden pressured Ukraine to fire a prosecutor investigating a firm whose board included Biden’s son.

Trump thinks Ukraine should investigate, and that was what the call was about. Yet Trump, not Biden, faces the barrage.

Read the rest here. The focus is corruption as it always has been, not the false Democrat spin of quid pro quo.

8. POTUS is not your typical pol (thank God!).

He wasn’t supposed to release the transcripts. Or the whistleblower report.  He was expected to do what any president would have done – what President Obama always did. Hide the evidence. As scripted, the president was intended to (rightly) claim executive privilege and withhold the written notes of his July 25 conversation with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. That would allow House Democrats to ramp up speculation about what the president was hiding.

In contrast, President Trump did the unthinkable:  he actually waived both executive privilege and attorney-client privilege for the Mueller investigation.  What other president would allow his general counsel to be interviewed for more than 30 hours? Donald Trump does. He should be winning awards for his openness and transparency. We’ve never seen anything like it before.  And it’s messing with the Democrats’ narrative.

Americans are not fooled. By now most of us have heard the message loud and clear. Rep. Al Green told us exactly what it was about when he told MSNBC in May, “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.”

Read the rest here. I’ll take the transparency and responsiveness of @POTUS to the secrecy of the Deep State and Democrats any day of the week!

9. The Catholic Church goes off the deep end on enviro-wacko-ism. Funny, I thought the goal was to save souls, not “the planet.” There’s a lot of work to do on that front; just consider all the elected Democrats who support unrestricted abortion!

[T]he movement is not confined to secular discourse: it coincides with escalating rhetoric from the Vatican about environmentalism. This issue is quickly becoming central to contemporary Catholicism, just as economic justice rose to the fore in the late 19th century. This is not merely a passing phase either. The language the Church uses to discuss environmentalism today will have profound ramifications for how we think about God, humanity, creation, and salvation itself.

Pope Francis’s 2015 encyclical Laudato Si was acclaimed as being for environmental justice what Pope Leo XIII’s landmark work Rerum Novarum was for economic justice in 1891. But the comparison is more aspirational than accurate. But Laudato Si, unlike Rerum Novarum, falls into the trap of adopting secular language to describe what is essentially a spiritual problem. It’s rife with the doomsday language that dominates secular environmentalism. Doomsday language does not lend itself to well-rounded philosophical frameworks or to judicious, practical applications. Instead, it promotes panic, and panic leads to moral compromise.

The unjustified moral panic over the Amazon fires is not unique. The last five decades are full of climate doomsday predictions that have been proven false. Some—like the 1970 proclamation that, by 2000, the world would be gripped in a new Ice Age—are exactly the opposite of current climate panics. For climate change activists, these facts simply don’t matter. What matters is that they see an impending climate disaster—a disaster which they believe justifies distorting the truth. This is exactly the same kind of prevarication Catholics must watch out for.

Because many leaders in the Church—including the Holy Father—have come to believe that there is an impending climate disaster, we shouldn’t be surprised if we see doctrinal distortions as a result. By elevating neo-pagan tribes to the level of moral arbiters and castigating Western Catholics en masse, activists within the Church lose sight of the Church’s primary purpose, which is to affect the salvation of human souls—the bringing of souls into harmony with God—through its preaching and sacramental ministries. All other Church activities must flow from that purpose and not from any other, lest we fall into a trap set by the forces of darkness.

Read the rest here. That article nailed how the Pope and the church hierarchy have gone off the rails, didn’t it? The Devil is hard at work boring from within.

10. A DNC contractor was digging for Trump dirt in Ukraine in 2016, but there is total silence about this in the legacy media.

There is a media narrative that is false. How do we know it’s false? The documents I possess show it’s false. They said there is no evidence that the Ukraine embassy was ever asked for help to help the Democrat national committee. She called that Russia propaganda. I have a statement from the Ukrainian embassy in Washington on the record from their sitting Ambassador in Washington that in fact Alexander Toluca, the DNC contractor came to the Ukraine embassy in spring 2016 and asked for help in finding dirt on Donald Trump in hopes of staging a congressional hearing to hurt Donald Trump. That is the on the record statements.

In addition, they state that he also asked the Ukraine president to visit the United States and spend time with an investigative reporter trying to turn up dirt on Donald Trump and Paul Manafort. What did the embassy do? They say they recognize this request for what it was, and improper efforts to influence the election and they refused to cooperate. That is a very important confirmation of something the rest of the media is calling tinfoil hat, conspiracy.

Watch the video here. Where are the legacy media in following up on this bombshell? Why, running for the hills, of course!

11. Finally, there is more circumstantial evidence that Rod Rosenstein wasn’t a “white hat,” as some have speculated.

Judicial Watch released 145 pages of Rod Rosenstein’s communications that include a one-line email from Rod Rosenstein to Robert Mueller stating, “The boss and his staff do not know about our discussions” and “off the record” emails with major media outlets around the date of Mueller’s appointment.

The time period referred to in this suit is critical. On May 8, 2017, Rosenstein wrote a memo to President Trump recommending that FBI Director James Comey be fired. The next day, President Trump fired Comey. Just three days later, on May 12, Rosenstein sent an email assuring Robert Mueller that “The boss and his staff do not know about our discussions.”

In a May 16, 2017 email, sent the day before Mueller’s appointment, Rosenstein emailed former Bush administration Deputy Attorney General and current Kirkland & Ellis Partner, Mark Filip stating, “I am with Mueller. He shares my views. Duty Calls. Sometimes the moment chooses us.”

Read the rest here. Occam’s razor says that Rosenstein indicted himself with his own words. I’ll wait for definitive proof to the contrary, no speculation.

Here are a couple of honorable mentions from this weeks news:

Here’s the short summary of the items in this weekly news summary:

  • Up to 130 State Dept personnel stand to lose their security clearances as a result of the Shrillary email server debacle. Frankly, it’s not enough; they need to be prosecuted because they knew about it and did nothing.
  • Peter Schweizer exposes the Bidens’ epic corruption.
  • A former CIA officer who submitted a whistleblower compliant opines that the Ukraine complaint reads like it was a legal brief, not a submission by a genuine whistleblower.
  • Joe Biden is pressuring the networks not to interview Rudy Giuliani on their news programs. Sure seems like a desperate move to me (not to mention typical Democrat fascism by attempting to stifle opposing political speech).
  • AG Barr is methodically looking into foreign influence in the 2016 elections. Ukraine is on the menu to the consternation of the Democrats.
  • Red meat isn’t bad for humans after all. I learned “everything in moderation” long ago. Glad to see a return to sanity.
  • Biden did the crime, yet it’s @OTUS who is the focus of Democrat allegations. Yeah, it’s nothing but transference!
  • POTUS upset the Democrats’ impeachment apple cart by releasing the Ukraine phone call transcript summary because he’s not your average brain-dead RINO.
  • The Pope apparently is on the green bandwagon, and saving souls seems to be second fiddle.
  • A DNC contractor was fishing for dirt on Donald Trump in Ukraine in 2016.
  • Looks like Rod Rosenstein was a bad guy after all; he implicates himself with his own words.

The Democrats flawed impeachment gambit (refer to the last bullet in item 12 above) continues to dominate the news. Watching their and their paid media lies, given the phone call transcript, is just amazing. Completely disgraceful! Now they’re shifting to China since that dog won’t hunt. Meanwhile, AG Barr and USA Durham continue their work, making the Democrats more desperate by the day. I love it! And no one has mentioned the DoJ OIG FISA abuse report that’s “under final review” lately. There’s a lot happening, folks; stay tuned!

The end.

Oh My: AOC Says Criticism of Adam Schiff Is Now Anti-Semitism

Westlake Legal Group AOCThisWeek Oh My: AOC Says Criticism of Adam Schiff Is Now Anti-Semitism Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump democrats Democrat Anti-Semitism Congress AOC anti-semitism Allow Media Exception

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14). Screen grab via ABC’s “This Week.”

You knew Democrats were going to come to the defense of Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) as he is getting blasted by Republicans and those who care about truth for his fabrications in regard to the Ukraine whistleblower story.

But it looks like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) wins the prize for the most ridiculous defense.

Are you ready? Here it is:

“Understand that Trump is engaged in deliberate, atrocious, targeted antisemitism towards Chairman Schiff,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Then ask yourself why no one cares to denounce it – esp when his accusation of it towards others drove full news cycles earlier this year.”

Wait, what? Criticism of Schiff is anti-Semitism? Is she kidding? The article she cites basically says Trump calling Democrats “savages” and Schiff “shifty” is anti-Semitic.

Um, perhaps the criticism has to do with the fact that Schiff has a small problem with the truth that everyone has seen, from fabricating quotes and not telling the truth about the whistleblower matter to telling Americans he has “evidence” that will prove collusion between the Trump team and Russia, but never producing it.

How about calling out your colleague for not telling the truth?

Maybe this says more about what’s going in AOC’s head then anything else, that she equates perfectly reasonable criticism of lying to anti-Semitism.

But this isn’t even so much a defense of Adam Schiff as an attempt to excuse her sisters in The Squad, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who have gotten in trouble for their anti-Semitic comments in the past, hence the reason for the second sentence in her tweet.

Needless to say, she got justifiably schooled for this hot take, as Twitchy notes.

Perhaps the best response came from former White House Press Secretary for George W. Bush, Ari Fleischer:

On Kickbacks and Democrats, Ukraine-Style

Hunter Biden is expressing regret for being discharged from the Navy Reserve amid published reports that he tested positive for cocaine. The Wall Street Journal reports that Hunter Biden failed the drug test last year and was discharged in February. In a statement issued Thursday, Oct. 16, Biden doesn’t say why he was discharged. He says he’s embarrassed that his actions led to his discharge and that he respects the Navy’s decision. The vice president’s office declined to comment.(AP Photo/Nick Wass, File)

The Democrats – including those embedded in the legacy media – will NEVER figure out President Trump. He has them chasing their tails with each tweet and public utterance. There are several reasons for his public statements: forcing focus on a topic of his choice, misdirection, fortifying his base, doubling down when Democrats attack him, etc. Oh, and I think he has fun doing it, too! Take his public requests to China, Ukraine, and other foreign countries to help “investigate the Bidens’ corruption.” The Democrats take everything at face value and almost always miss the point. It’s not about the Bidens per se; they are merely the vehicle by which the larger topic of public corruption among the political class is being addressed.

When POTUS speaks of dealing with corruption, I believe he is taking a much more expansive view of the subject. It should be remembered that he has been speaking about corruption as it relates to foreign aid for a long time. It was a keen topic of interest way back during the transition period, and the moribund US and global foreign policy establishment went apoplectic in pushing back on suggestions that US foreign aid (and funds for the UN) be curtailed due to corruption and ineffectiveness. Here is just one article among many such that pushed back on the notion of foreign aid cuts. And the flagship Foreign Policy Magazine spins it in terms of “saving foreign aid in the age of Trumpian populism”:

[T]he political mood in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other wealthy Western countries has turned against spending on foreign aid. National interests, not global goals, seem the currency of the times. The win-win mindset inherent in U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s invocation that “a rising tide lifts all boats” is today challenged by a Trumpian zero-sum mindset that appeals to America Firsters, Brexiteers, and nationalist, xenophobic, populist parties across Europe.

Read the rest here. That’s really twisting JFK’s famous quote into a pretzel! There is a contrary view that foreign aid supports corrupt regimes, and that US political elites have figured out how to cash in via kickbacks, etc. Hold that thought for a minute.

As is now known, President Trump spoke about dealing with corruption in Ukraine back in May on Fox News. And we also know that AG Barr and Special US Attorney Durham have been making the rounds overseas investigating the origins of the counterintelligence investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign, with Ukraine being the next stop after Italy. Isn’t it just a bit coincidental that this Ukraine “whistleblower” complaint just popped up in advance of their lawful investigative mission to Ukraine?

And yes, it’s ENTIRELY a legal mission, as the US and Ukraine have a mutual legal assistance treaty for just such actions. The treaty is entitled, “Treaty with Ukraine on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.” It obligates the two countries to collaborate in exchanging information on criminal activities in either country. I like this quote from the letter of transmittal:

Mutual assistance available under the Treaty includes: taking of testimony or statements of persons; providing documents, records, and articles of evidence; serving documents; locating or identifying persons; transferring persons in custody for testimony or other purposes; executing requests for searches and seizures; assisting in proceedings related to restrain confiscation, forfeiture of assets, restitution, and collection of fines; and any other form of assistance not prohibited by the laws of the requested state.

Read the whole treaty here. That sure reads to me like POTUS had plenty of legal standing to go after Ukrainian collusion with the DNC and Clinton campaign, as well as the Bidens’ corruption!

The Democrats and their lickspittle media have been apoplectic about that investigation and are doing everything they can – including bald-faced lying by members of Congress and paid media – to twist the Ukraine story into something it’s not. It’s ironic that the Democrats are accusing Trump of doing something he has not done (demanding a quid pro quo) when one of their leading presidential candidates actually admitted getting a quid pro quo from Ukraine on videotape! Anything to shift the topic away from Democrat crimes and corruption. And that’s what this is all about. The Democrats are misdirecting bigly in the face of mounting evidence of Democrat shenanigans in Ukraine during the 2016 election, as well as the Bidens’ corruption.

By now, everyone has heard about Hunter Biden receiving the princely sum of $50,000 per month from Burisma Holdings Ltd, an “independent” gas conglomerate in Ukraine. There has been a LOT of speculation about what that money bought since Hunter Biden had zero prior experience in the oil and gas industry. But there has been very little consideration given to where that money actually came from.

The Democrats have been masters at using public funds for corrupt political purposes for a long time. They have learned how to launder public money through federal agencies to their cronies, donors and family members. [Republicans do it, too, but on a much smaller scale.] Examples include congressional earmarks (as reported annually by Citizens Against Government Waste), grants from federal agencies (e.g., to Solyndra and other green companies during the Obama regime), funds to public employee unions (with in-kind kickbacks to Democrat Party operations), and tax-exempt donations from all sources (including foreigners) to foundations set up expressly for the purpose of laundering money, nepotism, and pay-for-play.

I believe there is a real nugget in POTUS’s quest to deal with Ukraine (and the Bidens) that has not been mentioned, and that nugget is what has the Democrats so up in arms and willing to march over the cliff politically with this impeachment ruse. There is a high likelihood that US taxpayer funds in the form of foreign aid were laundered through Ukraine (and other corrupt countries), with kickbacks to the likes of Hunter Biden and other politically-connected Americans. And there are even reports that Nancy Pelosi’s son Paul Jr. was on the board of a Ukrainian energy company, too! No wonder San Fran Nan is pressing ahead with the impeachment “inquiry.” Here is one of those reports:

https://twitter.com/HowleyReporter/status/1179893713214025729

Did you know that US foreign aid to Ukraine DOUBLED from $272M in 2015 to $513M in 2016? I wonder where that money went? Accountability under the Petro Poroshenko regime in Ukraine was a joke, and corruption was the key issue that led to Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s landslide victory in April 2019. I am certain that Poroshenko’s defeat was a severe blow to Democrats, in particular the Bidens, because they expected him to keep the lid on their corrupt dealings. However, the new Ukraine president is a reformer who is tackling corruption, and that is welcome news for those of us who, like our president and attorney general, want to find out about the likes of Crowdstrike’s and also various DNC operatives’ activities in Ukraine during the 2016 campaign.

Bottom line: I strongly suspect that the retainer Hunter Biden received was part of the kickback scheme involving US foreign aid laundered through Poroshenko’s regime using Burisma Holdings Ltd. as a cutout. In short, US taxpayers paid Hunter’s salary, thanks to a real quid pro quo executed by his father who was the vice president of the United States! And this misuse of foreign aid dollars is what POTUS is actually targeting, with the Bidens being the means of exposing it all. That’s what the Democrats cannot tolerate because Ukraine wasn’t the only country in which this kickback scheme was practiced during the Obama era. For starters, think about Obama’s Iran nuke agreement and the $1.5 billion…

The end.

Andy McCarthy: ‘The fact that House Democrats invite you to their circus does not require you to beclown yourself’

Westlake Legal Group cummings-620x310 Andy McCarthy: ‘The fact that House Democrats invite you to their circus does not require you to beclown yourself’ President Trump Nancy Pelosi Impeachment process Impeachment of President Trump Front Page Stories Featured Story elijah cummings donald trump democrats corruption Congress Andy McCarthy Allow Media Exception Abuse of Power 2020

Late Friday evening, House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings sent a letter to White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney requesting he submit documents related to their impeachment inquiry by October 18th. In addition to Cummings, it was signed by Reps. Adam Schiff (Chair of House Intelligence Committee) and Eliot Engel (Chair of House Committee on Foreign Affairs). Cummings repeatedly insists that the letter is a subpoena.

The letter states, “We deeply regret that President Trump has put us—and the nation—into this position, but his actions have left us with no choice but to issue this subpoena.”

It cites several earlier deadlines which the White House has ignored.

Cummings writes that he is aware of President Trump’s intention to send a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday informing her that the White House refuses to cooperate with any document requests until a full House vote on impeachment has been taken.

Pelosi has refused to do so because once a vote is taken, Republicans will receive “some” rights to participate in the impeachment process. (Although the rights would be minor, Republicans currently have no rights. They can’t even question witnesses that come before the committee.) Additionally, she does not want to force Democrats serving in districts Trump won in 2016 to go on record voting for his impeachment.

He writes, “Speaker Pelosi has confirmed that an impeachment inquiry is underway, and it is not for the White House to say otherwise.” Mr. Cummings is telling Mulvaney it’s an impeachment inquiry because “Pelosi says it is.”

Not so fast, says former U.S. attorney and author Andrew McCarthy. He calls the Democrats’ impeachment action “Kabuki theatre.” He writes:

You are not to be faulted if you think a formal inquest is under way and that legal process has been issued. The misimpression is completely understandable if you have been taking in media coverage — in particular, reporting on a haughty Sept. 27 letter from House Democrats, presuming to direct Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, on pain of citation for obstruction, to cooperate in their demands to depose State Department officials and review various records.

As mentioned above, McCarthy explains that until a formal vote is taken in the house, this is not an impeachment inquiry and their “subpoenas” are merely letters. “Legally, it has no compulsive power. If anything, it is rife with legal deficiencies.” Rather than conducting an impeachment inquiry, he says House Democrats are merely conducting their 2020 campaign.

He notes that “standing committees do have subpoena power,” but recipients often object to subpoenas and choose to litigate. “Such challenges take time, though, and Democrats are in a hurry to close this show after a short run. Democrats want to have an impeachment show — um, inquiry — on television; they do not want to defend its bona fides in court.”

McCarthy writes that the Democrats are trying to “ipse dixit” their way to impeachment. I had to look that one up. It means “an assertion made but not proved.” Yes, that’s exactly what they’re doing. That’s how the Russian collusion investigation began as well.

In both the letter to Mick Mulvaney and the letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, it says that failure to comply “shall constitute evidence of obstruction of the House’s impeachment inquiry.” But that is just not true.

The House is an independent body and can conduct an impeachment anyway they chose. However, McCarthy points out:

The courts maintain their authority to protect the legal rights of persons and institutions ensnared in kangaroo tribunals. The fact that House Democrats invite you to their circus does not require you to beclown yourself.

Any competent court asked to evaluate a demand for information under the rubric of impeachment will observe that the process has a history. When the Framers debated whether to include an impeachment clause in the Constitution, they had serious concerns. They were designing a separation-of-powers system that endowed the coordinate branches with checks and balances to police each other. They understood that impeachment authority was necessary, but feared it would give the legislature too much power over the executive.

They also worried that impeachment could be politicized. If it were too easy to do procedurally, or it could be resorted to for trifling acts of maladministration, factions opposed to the president would be tempted to try to overturn elections and grind the government to a halt.

To address these concerns, the Framers adopted a burdensome standard — high crimes and misdemeanors (in addition to treason and bribery) — that would restrict impeachable offenses to truly egregious abuses of power. Then they erected an even higher bar: a two-thirds supermajority requirement for conviction in the Senate.

All this was to ensure that the electoral will of the people must never be overturned in the absence of misconduct so severe that it results in a broad consensus that the nation’s well-being requires removing the president from power.

President Trump is not without defenses. He has various privileges available to him and McCarthy writes that judges are generally deferential toward an executive’s claims of privilege. But Congress is given wider latitude to probe in a real impeachment inquiry.

If the House went to court to enforce their demands right now, before a formal vote has been taken, a judge would be less apt to side with them. McCarthy said, “The first thing a court’s going to want to know is, ‘Has the House voted to have an impeachment inquiry?’ And, a lot hinges on that, including how much expansion a court would give a president’s claim of executive privilege and privilege over matters that are in the president’s duties under Article II.”

Impeachment actions in the past have followed bipartisan debate in the House. They are conducted when a president is perceived to have committed a crime. Trump has not committed a crime and Republicans are not part of this action. The Democrats know they don’t have an “impeachable offense,” which is why they want to move so quickly. They are using impeachment as a political tool which is the exact opposite of what our Founders had intended.

McCarthy notes that, “If Democrats truly thought they had a case, they wouldn’t be in such a rush — they’d want everyone to have time to study it. But they don’t have a case, so instead they’re giving us a show.”

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi traveled to Greenville, SC on Friday for a Democratic fundraiser.

The local newspaper, Greenville News, reported, “Local Republicans have promoted efforts to protest Pelosi and Democrats’ impeachment efforts outside the event.”

The reality was actually quite impressive. Trump supporters lined the streets leading to the venue. They were carrying signs and banners and they all shouted “boo” as San Fran Nan drove by.

This rude welcome was merely a glimpse of the pushback she and the Democrats will face as they carry on with this national farce.

Did she really believe this would be easy?
