Confirmed: Rashida Tlaib Facing Ethics Review by House Committee

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) became known shortly after she was sworn into office in January of last year for crudely shouting at a public event that “We should impeach the mother f***er” when referring to President Donald Trump.

Now she faces trouble of her own for possible improper action.

The House Ethics Committee is looking into payments that she made to herself after her win in November, 2018.

While you are allowed to pay yourself during your campaign, you are not supposed to pay yourself after your campaign is over. You are allowed to pay yourself after it’s over if it was for work done prior to the end of the campaign.

Her problem? She paid herself $17,500 after she won.

From Daily Wire:

“The Federal Election Commission states that salary payments may continue ‘until the date of the general election,’” Politico noted in a Monday report on the the probe.

According to reporting from the Washington Free Beacon in March, the elected Democrat made a $2,000 payment to herself on November 16 and shelled out another $15,500 to herself on December 1.

Tlaib spokesman Denzel McCampbell confirmed the review and told told The Hill:

“Representative Tlaib has cooperated completely with the Committee to resolve the referral, which involves the same claims over her publicly disclosed salary during the campaign that conservative groups pressed back in March. Representative Tlaib fully complied with the law and acted in good faith at all times.”

An election law and government ethics lawyer told the Washington Free Beacon in March that the first payment might involve activity that happened prior to the election, although the second week, after the Nov. 6 election, could potentially be an issue.

The second payment of $15,500 raised more of a question, the lawyer said, since it was completely after the date and was so much more than the prior payments to herself, which previously had totaled $4,000 per month.

From Daily Wire:

The ethics panel “recommended further scrutiny” into the possible misuse of funds, reported Politico, adding that the House Ethics Committee “now faces a 45-day deadline to announce whether to go ahead with a full investigation, or once again extend the review period and release the OCE report.”

Her two fellow “Squad” members, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) have also faced their own campaign finance ethics questions. Omar was fined for campaign finance violations and ordered to reimburse her campaign account about $3,500 after an investigation found she illegally used campaign funds in 2016 and 2017 when she served as a state representative. Ocasio-Cortez has had multiple complaints filed against her for questionable actions she took during her congressional campaign.

Poll: Plurality believes Biden pressured Ukraine government not to investigate his son’s business dealings

Westlake Legal Group b Poll: Plurality believes Biden pressured Ukraine government not to investigate his son’s business dealings zelensky Ukraine Trump The Blog poll monmouth Inquiry impeachment impeach hunter democrats biden

This new poll from Monmouth is the first I’ve seen to ask about the Biden side of the Ukraine mess. More pollsters should start doing that, as the results here are mighty interesting.

Westlake Legal Group m Poll: Plurality believes Biden pressured Ukraine government not to investigate his son’s business dealings zelensky Ukraine Trump The Blog poll monmouth Inquiry impeachment impeach hunter democrats biden

Naysayers will point to the topline number and note that 42 percent is suspiciously similar to Trump’s job approval in most surveys. Why, Trump-supporting Republicans have simply chosen to believe the worst about poor Joe Biden in the name of legitimizing what the president did in his call with Zelensky! But as you can see from the partisan numbers in the table, that’s not true. A surprisingly large minority of GOPers, 16 percent, are skeptical about Trump’s charges against Biden. And a surprisingly large number of Democrats, 19 percent, are credulous about them.

Although maybe the Democratic numbers aren’t so surprising. In the middle of a presidential primary that Biden is momentarily leading, go figure that some fans of his rivals are disposed to believe the worst about him.

Either way, with 22 percent of the general public and 17 percent of Democrats undecided about Biden and Ukraine, there’s plenty of room for doubt to grow about what his intentions were in leaning on them to fire the corrupt prosecutor Shokin in 2015. Trump’s argument that Biden did something shady may end up with majority support before too long.

What about impeachment, though? Monmouth looked at that too. Result:

Westlake Legal Group 2 Poll: Plurality believes Biden pressured Ukraine government not to investigate his son’s business dealings zelensky Ukraine Trump The Blog poll monmouth Inquiry impeachment impeach hunter democrats biden

We now have enough numbers from multiple surveys over the past few days to draw a tentative conclusion: There’s no majority support for impeachment/removal yet, but support is rising and trending towards a majority. In fact, Monmouth noted in its write-up of these results that it’s only the second time that support for removing Trump from office (44 percent) has exceeded his job approval (41 percent). That happened once before six months ago, around the time Mueller released the summary of his findings, but it was brief. For the moment, more people would rather see Trump ousted than are willing to say that they approve of his performance.

Another result here that replicates the findings of other polls is support for the impeachment *inquiry.* Last month the public split 41/51 on that; this month they split 49/43. Every other poll I’ve seen over the past week finds at least a plurality in favor of Democrats taking a look at what went down between Trump and the Ukrainian government. That’s probably because people seem to find the facts suspicious based on what they know: When asked if it’s appropriate or not for the president to ask a foreign leader to investigate a political rival, Americans split 21/63. That’s the ominous news for Trump in this data — support for impeachment could expand well into majority territory depending on how much evidence there is of Trump trying to wound Biden for his own electoral gain.

One more number for you. What’s noteworthy about this result from a different poll out today?

No, it’s not the fact that his job approval is suddenly down sharply as the impeachment news bites. It’s the fact that this is the only recent poll to show that. You’d expect the uproar over Ukraine and the support for the House’s impeachment inquiry to knock a few points off of Trump’s approval rating, but it’s just not happening anywhere except in the CNBC survey. The Monmouth poll finds Trump at 41 percent, *up* a point from last month. Quinnipiac’s latest poll also saw his approval rise a point since its previous survey. Three different polls conducted last week had him in the 44-46 percent range, all of which is perfectly normal or even good by Trump standards. This is why I think all the navel-gazing about which party will be hurt most by impeachment is beside the point. Nothing affects people’s views of Trump anymore. Probably not even impeachment. I suppose if Dems are able to prove the worst-case scenario, that he really did explicitly threaten Ukraine with the loss of military aid unless they investigated Biden for him, he might slip a bit. But barring that, he’s destined to have an approval rating in the low to mid-40s on Election Day next year. No matter what happens between now and then.

The Media Are Lying About Sean Davis’ Reporting On the ICIG Altering the Whistle-Blower Form

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., departs the Capitol en route to a speaking event in Washington, Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019. Pelosi will meet with her caucus later as more House Democrats are urging an impeachment inquiry amid reports that President Donald Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his family. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

Over the past few days, a large dust up has surrounded a report by The Federalist’s Sean Davis. In it, he details how the form used to file whistle-blower complaints was altered just before the current whistle-blower submission involving Trump and Ukraine. You can find the original report on that at this link.

The gist of the claim was never that the “law” was changed, although that’s how the left spun it (and many on the right from certain outlets). What was being exposed was that the ICIG originally required first hand information or otherwise verifiable second hand information for a complaint to be seen as an urgent and passed to Congress. The regulations governing such also require that. The whistle-blower’s complaint clearly did not provide either of those things. Yet, the form was changed to remove those requirements in August just before he turned it in and the ICIG attempted to give it to Congress anyway.

Because arguing in good faith is not a thing with our media, they immediately rushed out to proclaim Sean was lying anyway. A rebuttal memo put out by the ICIG was used as proof.

The problem is that the ICIG memo actually backs up what Sean reported and anyone claiming otherwise is adding things to the mix that weren’t there in the first place.

To answer the question above, yes, the ICIG just did admit that. Malor apparently doesn’t realize that if the whistle-blower used the 2018 form, then the note that first hand info is required for a credibly “urgent” complaint was there for all to see. In other words, the form was changed after the fact, allowing the ICIG to claim it was proper for him to pass the claim to Congress.

Here’s Undercover Huber’s thread as well, which I won’t link entirely to, but you can click the below tweet to read it all. He goes hard at the media’s talking points.

Predictably, even some media outlets managed to admit the issues inadvertently but still pushed a certain narrative.

As defined in the ICWPA, the ICIG’s duties include an obligation “to initiate and conduct independent investigations” (U.S.C. §3033(e)). Further, he “shall determine whether the complaint or information appears credible. Upon making such a determination, the Inspector General shall transmit to the Director a notice of that determination, together with the complaint or information” (U.S.C. §3033(k)(5)(B)).

Ironically, the Daily Beast article inadvertently destroys its own claim that this is a “false story.” In their zeal to dismiss the importance of the altered requirement for first-hand knowledge, the article explains that first-hand evidence is the threshold to determine what is “credible” under the statute: “Though the text is confusingly drafted—which may be why the entire preamble was canned—a careful reading shows it’s not erecting a new hurdle for filing a whistleblower complaint, but rather describing the type of evidence the IC IG has to gather to judge the complaint ‘credible’ at the end of its 14-day investigation.”

The most infuriating part of this is seeing so many “conservatives” rush to bash Sean Davis and Mollie Hemingway (who backed him up) when nothing they said was incorrect. The original report was that the form was changed and that the ICIG refused to give a reason. That was true, 100%. The dividing line among the right continues to be the majority who see the past and present corruption within the IC and those who reflexively run to defend them at all costs.

If some want to stick their head in the sand and pretend all of this is just a coincidence on top of the mountain of other coincidences, that’s their prerogative. The rest of us aren’t bound to give any of the intel community or otherwise the benefit of the doubt.

Then Versus Now, and What to Do About It

Westlake Legal Group usa-1149896_1280-620x410 Then Versus Now, and What to Do About It washington D.C. U.S. Congress Popular Culture Politics Patriotism National Security International Affairs Government Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump Democrats Are Evil democrats Culture of Corruption Culture & Faith Culture crime corruption Citizenship

President Trump’s political opposition are beside themselves in their continual condemnation of every domestic or foreign policy proposal and action taken by the administration. According to them, everything done by the Trump administration is either some kind of evil grand conspiracy in service of his supposed “Russian puppeteers,” the product of his supposed racist and white supremacist worldview, or just some crackpot idea by someone who is over his head and “winging it” – sometimes in combination!

Compared to the erudite foreign policy establishment, the cultural [il]literati, the grand conservative thinkers among the #NeverTrump wing who make these judgments daily, which are repeated endlessly by the paid parrots in the legacy media, I see things in far simpler terms, which could be distilled to this concept: the President is spearheading an American restoration in much the same way that a builder (or a homeowner) renovates and restores an old house that has been allowed to decay through neglect over the years.

America’s decay since 1960 can be clearly shown by contrasting what we do these days versus what we did yesteryear. There is a LOT that we used to do that we don’t anymore, much of which plays directly into “national objectives” and the national psyche. POTUS is quite simply trying to restore America’s mojo.

For example, we used to teach self-reliance through the adage that “God helps those who help themselves.” The concept involves developing personal initiative, working hard, and providing first for oneself and then for one’s family. To depend on others for one’s basic needs was long considered to be a personal failing and an embarrassment. These days, the political class has constructed a welfare state that teaches inter-generational dependence on the government, destroying self-reliance and also personal integrity and the feeling of self-worth in the process.

We used to practice Christian charity at all levels of the income scale. Even those with modest incomes felt compelled to provide at least a pittance for those in more unfortunate circumstances “because it was the Christian thing to do.” Nowadays, the state has assumed that function to the detriment of both those doing the giving and also those on the receiving end. The givers’ hearts are perceptibly hardened as they shirk what previously was a communal obligation while the state can’t do anything about changing the life trajectory and spirit of those receiving government aid.

We used to have lightly regulated free enterprise; anyone with an idea, a little capital, and an entrepreneurial spirit could start and build a business. The concept of “creative destruction” – the continual removal and replacement of longstanding practices to make way for innovative concepts – was inherently understood and accepted. These days, in order to reduce risk to large businesses in particular, the government is engaged in picking winners and losers on the basis of campaign contributions to politicians who manipulate the tax and regulatory systems to benefit or punish as they deem fit. This is the essence of the corporate capitalism about which the Left rail these days. Their aim is off, though, as it is the government that is the problem, not the solution!

We used to have citizen legislators, as envisioned by the Founders. Those legislators would do the people’s business on a part-time basis, and then return to their own business pursuits thereafter. Now, we have a “professional” political class that has sprung up like cockleburs in a bean field. As citizens, we have ceded authority to them to “run the country,” and how has that worked out? Arguably horribly, as the US national debt exceeds $22 trillion, our inner cities are disaster areas filled with hopeless people with ruined lives, our manufacturing jobs cynically and maliciously exported to China, and our national security and sovereignty directly compromised by open borders nonsense.

We used to believe in – and actually had! – a low-tax, low regulatory government and an understanding that the least government that is closest to the people is the best. And to think that there was once no federal income tax or Internal Revenue Service! Now, thanks to the corrupting influence of the power and control provided by an administrative state which has seeped into every nook and cranny of American society, the political class has come to believe that the federal government can provide virtually everything for everyone – but at the cost of our liberties and freedom, not to mention our money! Are there no federal programs which have failed to achieve their goals that should be retired? I can think of a LOT of them that should be shut down and/or returned to the states per the 10th Amendment! The administrative state’s growth is unabated because it serves the political class – but not We The People!

We used to have healthy debates on whither and where public monies should be spent; this as much as any topic enabled us to sort out the true natures of the politicians we sent to Congress. Now, the federal budget in particular has become so gargantuan that no one can grasp the redundancies and waste therein. Who among us has ever read through the entire federal budget? Our eyes glaze at the minutiae. And the political class has gravitated toward the use of continuing resolutions partly to avoid the scrutiny from the public that would come with actually developing a formal annual federal budget. All that the politicians do these days is argue for more taxes and more spending, as well as changing the priorities for spending all those taxpayer dollars.

We used to be taught the Federalist Papers and de Toqueville in 8th grade civics, as well as a reverence for the Constitution. Young people actually understood how state and federal governments worked, and why they were set up as they were by the Founders, including the key concept of checks and balances and the reasons for the “Great Compromise.” Now, the political class seeks to escape those shackles at every turn while developing convoluted arguments that the Constitution needs to be an “enabling document and not a restrictive one” that ultimately lead to the despotism that the Founders feared most. The ridiculous discussion of doing away with the Electoral College by leftist Democrats like the members of The Squad is symptomatic of the demise of practical civics and American history classes in our public education system

We used to be taught public manners and to practice civic courtesy everywhere; it was part of what growing up, and becoming a responsible and productive citizen was all about. Respect for one’s elders, law enforcement personnel, and civic figures was taught and reinforced as one grew up and came of age. Now, the culture has been coarsened to the point where virtually anything goes and nothing shocks anymore. Public insults have given way to wishing bodily harm and/or death on one’s perceived enemies, especially in the political realm. This has hardened into a political tactic by the leftist Democrats who actually cheer on politically motivated violence by the likes of Antifa and Communist agitators in the streets in places like Portland.

We used to have faith in government institutions, and that the people in those agencies were actually public servants tending to the business of the country. How naïve! We have learned otherwise in the Age of Trump, as the revelations about the corruption in the Obama regime across virtually all departments has increasingly been exposed. Before 2016, how many of us would ever have suspected that elements of the CIA, DoJ, FBI, and State Department were conspiring against a presidential candidate and later an elected president? And although cynically noting double standards in the application of our laws, how many of us could ever have believed the extent to which those double standards have been exposed in DoJ and the FBI covering up major Obama and Clinton scandals in recent years?

Lastly – although the list could go on – we used to worship and believe in God, as well as express those beliefs in the public square. Now, we have lost sight of the country’s founding as a Christian nation, and the political class has virtually excised religion from the public square with the aid of the Communist-founded ACLU and other leftists over the years. And how has that worked out? As one example, the Catholic Church has lost its way, abrogating centuries-old pro-life bedrock principles. One statistic about all others shows how far we’ve fallen: over 60 million abortions have been performed since Roe v. Wade opened the floodgates to abortion on demand in 1973. Then there is the increasing evidence of human trafficking and pedophilia among the political class and supposed cultural icons in America. Let’s face it: the Marxists are winning the culture wars, folks, just as they have long planned!

Now given the aforementioned comparisons, what should our national objectives be if we wish to regain some semblance of the Republic envisioned by the Founders? I’ll give you my 2 cents to chew on, all of which are focused on the long-term. I happen to believe that these objectives are also what underly President Trump’s strategy to restore America and its institutions. Conversely, these are also the items that the Left as manifested by today’s Democrat Party will fight – and are fighting! – tooth-and-nail to prevent.

  • Promote self-reliance for all American citizens. Teach it in the schools, enable it through limited government. This requires regaining control of the public education system and booting leftist teachers en masse. Reduce transfer payments to a lifetime limit (x number of years total), except for the truly indigent.
  • Repeal “affirmative action” laws throughout the land. Restore merit as the only measuring stick for employment and promotion decisions.
  • Hold people responsible for their actions, especially the political and mandarin classes. Enforce racketeering and corruption laws (and pass tougher ones that are rigidly enforced). Public shaming also has a place.
  • Pass a constitutional amendment limiting federal spending (both on and off book) to the historical average of percentage of Gross National Product (GNP) before 1960.
  • Reform the tax code. I prefer a flat tax with no deductions although I would rather see the income tax replaced by a national sales tax and a return to tariffs as a significant source of national revenue as was the case before the 16th Amendment was passed.
  • Limit the federal government to constitutionally-specified functions; return all other matters to the individual states (that means “infrastructure” and other Marxist-inspired lingo/programs). Retire failed programs. Reduce federal subsidies to near zero (except for research and development, which is the seed corn of economic and technological growth).
  • Promote civic courtesy and good public manners; publicly shame and ostracize those who don’t comply. Quickly prosecute those who incite violence in their political speech and other public utterances.
  • Excise all foreign influence (especially money) from the political class. Rescind all domestic campaign finance restrictions, remove all subsidies from non-profits (except for religious organizations), repeal McCain-Feingold (and get rid of all non-profits organizations except for religious-affiliated and private charities), and require all domestic political contributions be instantly publicized the moment they are made.
  • Re-implement loyalty oaths across the federal government at all levels. Monitor and enforce adherence through revamped personnel and whistle-blower policies. Pass laws preventing lobbying of Congress by anyone formerly serving in the federal government in any capacity (bureaucrat, elected official, appointed staffers, etc.).
  • Sponsor a series of widely-publicized nationwide and regional conferences and debates over many months in many venues on national defense policy, the conduct of war, commitment of forces overseas, alliances, objectives, etc., leading to a national consensus that can be manifested by the political class. Do the same for domestic policy (might require a Constitutional Convention to delineate/realign federal-state responsibilities although I am leery about deep pocket leftist donors hijacking this through corruption and bribery). POTUS has essentially begun the process with his frequent campaign stops around the country.

I greatly prefer the “then” to the “now,” at least as relates to the comparisons presented here. These recommended actions listed will reverse those comparison and are entirely consistent with the MAGA agenda. In fact, these are the kinds of issues that he is pursuing when he appoints conservative judges to the federal bench, implements tax cuts, reduces government regulations, roots out the political corruption in the Deep State, and gains control of our porous southern border. And they’re certainly NOT in service of his mythical Russian puppet masters in Moscow as the execrable Left ridiculously claims! The end result of a continuation of these actions will be a restoration of America over the long haul while removing the blight and decay that the Left have purposely created over the past few decades. Let’s help POTUS continue his wonderful reclamation project on behalf of all Americans!

The end.

The mainstream media has portrayed Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson in glowing terms.

“The intelligence community’s chief watchdog, Michael Atkinson, is known to his peers and colleagues as a highly cautious ‘straight shooter’ who tends to keep his head down,” writes Politico reporter Natasha Bertrand.

If only he had kept his head down.

American Greatness’ Julie Kelly took a peak at Atkinson’s resume and it tells us everything we need to know. Kelly notes that in July 2016, Atkinson became “the senior counsel to John Carlin, the head of the National Security Division. Carlin was Robert Mueller’s chief of staff when he ran the FBI and was appointed NSD chief by President Obama in 2013.”

Carlin played a role in both the framing of Trump’s National Security Advisor, General Michael Flynn, as well as the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign. In her testimony before Congress last summer, FBI lawyer Lisa Page told lawmakers that “Carlin was briefed regularly by former deputy FBI Director Andy McCabe on the Trump-Russia collusion probe.”

With full knowledge that Trump campaign advisor Carter Page was not a “Russian spy,” that he had actually done undercover work for the FBI, Carlin prepared the FISA Court application for a warrant to spy on him. Shortly before the application was submitted, Carlin abruptly resigned under controversial circumstances in October 2016. (He is now a CNBC contributor – surprise!)

He was replaced by Mary McCord who, according to Conservapedia, was complicit in the surveillance of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and surveillance of Trump Campaign. Atkinson served as McCord’s senior counsel.

Shortly after Trump took office, “McCord accompanied acting Attorney General Sally Yates to a meeting with White House counsel Don McGahn. The purpose of the meeting was to warn the White House that Mike Flynn may have violated an arcane federal law and was at risk of being “blackmailed” by the Russians.”

McCord resigned from her post in May 2017 under conditions similar to Carlin’s.

According to CNN, both Carlin and McChord still speak highly of Atkinson.

Shortly after the story of the whistleblower complaint broke last week, McChord, who is now a senior litigator at the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection, spoke to CNN. She said, “As soon as I saw that he [Atkinson] had recommended it be sent to Congress, that’s all I needed to know it was legit.”

Carlin was also contacted by CNN and said, Atkinson is  “someone who is very deliberate, thoughtful and tries to carefully review facts … not someone who seeks attention.” (Carlin now is a CNBC contributor.)

Kelly reports:

Under questioning by Rep. James Jordan (R-Ohio) last year, one of Carlin’s top aides confirmed that Carlin notified him in August 2016 that the FBI had opened an investigation into the Trump campaign and that a team of NSD officials worked with the FBI on the case.

In his testimony, George Toscas, former deputy attorney general for the NSD, referred to unnamed lawyers who attended various briefings with the FBI in 2016. He did not mention Atkinson’s name—although several names in the transcript are redacted—but it stretches credulity to think that the senior counsel to the division’s chief would have been unaware of such an explosive and unprecedented investigation.

Further, the National Security Division chiefly is responsible for the Justice Department’s oversight of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. The NSD “closely coordinates with the FBI and other Intelligence Community agencies on . . . matters relating to FISA and other national security laws.”

That means Carlin’s shop was involved in handling the FISA warrant on Trump campaign associate Carter Page. The original FISA warrant, signed by former FBI Director James Comey and Carlin’s colleague, former deputy attorney general Sally Yates, used the bogus Steele dossier as evidence to obtain the FISA court’s permission to spy on Page for one year. The warrant accused Page of being a foreign agent yet he has never been charged with a crime.

Was Atkinson one of the unnamed lawyers? It’s highly likely. He was the senior counsel.

In any case, it defies belief that the senior counsel for both Carlin and McChord had no knowledge of what they were involved in. Can you imagine the atmosphere inside the offices of top level NSD officials as the campaign to destroy Trump was ramping up?

All is not as it seems.

When it comes to the actions of the Democratic House leadership on the latest round of impeachment fever, Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) is not messing around.

Collins, who is the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, appeared on Fox and Friends Monday morning to talk about the impeachment process. Collins specifically raised questions about what House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) knew and when he knew it about the whistleblower complaint. He also pointed out how there was a very troubling reason why House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) declared an impeachment inquiry instead of having Congress formally vote on it.

Below is a partial transcript of the interview Collins did with host Brian Kilmeade:

Collins: “If you go back, actually the whistleblower complaint was on August 14th I believe. On August the 28th, go back and look at Adam Schiff who is now heading the ramrod investigation. He actually put a tweet out saying basicallywhat the whistleblower complaint said. This is a month ahead of time. I’m beginning to wonder if there was not more communication here.”

Kilmeade: “Nancy Pelosi on 60 Minutes last night was asked ‘Did the President call you?’ She said ‘yes, he called me.’ [This was] before she came out with the impeachment inquiry. [Trump said] ‘the letter was perfect. We’re gonna release the transcript, the call was perfect.’ And she said to him, ‘I knew what was in the letter.’ Then she paused and said ‘it was in the public domain.’ Number one, it was not in the public domain, and the transcript had not been released yet. How could she possibly know?”

Collins: (chuckles) “I don’t think she did. I think the problem here is when you keep telling another story, it’s hard to remember what you’ve told and not told, or what you’re trying to keep.

And this is why I’ve said this week that the Speaker abused her power … she said we’re starting the impeachment inquiry and she gave it to her buddy Adam Schiff who has been dishonest with the American people from the get-go on Russia. And why that is important for everybody in this country to know is a [true] impeachment inquiry would actually afford due process, it would make sure both sides were heard. It would make sure the President and the minority have the rights that are not present in the hearings currently.

This is not America when you can simply ramrod one side of a hearing in without allowing the person who’s being accused or even the minority to have more rights.

If it were a true inquiry, she’d put it on the floor, make her members vote for it so in the end we would actually have a process that happened under Clinton and happened under Nixon.”

When Kilmeade asked Collins about Pelosi’s remarks this week about Americans needing to be “prayerful” about the process, here’s how Collins responded:

“It doesn’t appear to be [sincere] when you see the actions,” Collins said. “Don’t follow the words. Follow the actions. If this was so somber, if this was so serious, then she would do [what] has been done in the past and have a very straightforward process in which every side is represented.”
[…]
Collins said if Pelosi and congressional Democrats truly had the courage of their convictions, they would put the issue to a vote on the House floor and allow the republic to function as it was intended.

“If it was a true inquiry, she would put it on the floor — she’d make her members vote for it so, in the end, we would actually have a process that happened under [Bill] Clinton and happened under [Richard] Nixon, where both sides are represented,” he said. “This is just not fair. The American people will see through this.”

Watch Collins lay the smack down on this sham process below:

What Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler are trying to do should be very concerning to everybody. The House is on a two week break now but key committee members are still in DC issuing subpoenas and moving the impeachment process along without input from Republicans.

GOP House members should use the two weeks they have in their districts to amplify what Collins and other GOP leaders are saying about what’s happening. The American people deserve to know.

Pics Cast Doubt on Joe Biden’s Claim That He Didn’t Discuss His Son’s Business With Him

Last week, when questioned about what he knew of his son Hunter’s overseas business dealings in China, Joe Biden claimed he knew nothing because he had never discussed his son’s business dealings with him.

From Fox:

“I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,” Biden said, pointing the finger at President Trump. “I know Trump deserves to be investigated. He is violating every basic norm of a president. You should be asking him why is he on the phone with a foreign leader, trying to intimidate a foreign leader. You should be looking at Trump.”

That immediately was called into question because of a prior statement made by Hunter to the New Yorker indicating that he had in fact spoken with his father at least once about business.

But now there are pictures emerging which also call into question Joe Biden’s claim.

On Tucker Carlson’s show last night, he revealed pictures from August 2014, when Hunter was still on the board of the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma. The pictures showed Joe Biden with Hunter and his business partner on Burisma at the time, Devon Archer.

News reports show that Joe Biden was in the Hamptons at the time of the picture, according to Fox.

Hunter Biden was receiving $50,000 a month from Burisma to be on their board despite having no prior experience in Ukraine or the energy business.

Biden later admitted on camera that he had pressured Ukraine to fire the prosecutor Viktor Shokin by threatening to withhold $1 billion in aid while he was Vice President. Shokin was fired. Shokin later claimed in an affidavit to an Austrian court this year that he was investigating Hunter Biden’s firm, Burisma, and that was at least in part why he was fired. This affidavit was revealed by John Solomon at The Hill.

But the golfing picture wasn’t the only time there were pictures where there seemed an intersection of Hunter’s business life and Joe Biden, as is noted in this Twitchy post.

Twitchy observes:

Here’s the caption for the photo. Note the update in 2014 to cover Hunter’s new work in Ukraine:

FILE – This Dec. 4, 2013, file photo shows U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, left, arriving on Air Force Two in Beijing, China, with his son Hunter Biden, right, and his granddaughter Finnegan Biden. As the Vice President travels to Ukraine Saturday, June 7, 2014, his youngest son, Hunter, 44, has been hired by a private Ukrainian company that promotes energy independence from Russia, but is commercially active in the breakaway Russian-backed state of Crimea and owned by a former government minister with ties to Ukraine’s ousted pro-Russian president. (AP Photo/Ng Han Guan, Pool)

As the New Yorker noted, Hunter had just made a deal to create a private equity fund, despite the fact that his father the Vice President was a point man on China for the Obama administration.

In June, 2013, Li, Archer, and other business partners signed a memorandum of understanding to create the fund, which they named BHR Partners, and, in November, they signed contracts related to the deal. Hunter became an unpaid member of BHR’s board but did not take an equity stake in BHR Partners until after his father left the White House.

According to Peter Schweizer, the $1 billion private equity deal was:

“[w]ith a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China. The deal was later expanded to $1.5 billion. In short, the Chinese government funded a business that it co-owned along with the son of a sitting vice president.”

While there, both Bidens met with President Li.

According to the New Yorker, Joe Biden staff was concerned about the appearance of impropriety but were too “intimidated” to bring it up with the Vice President.

When I asked members of Biden’s staff whether they discussed their concerns with the Vice-President, several of them said that they had been too intimidated to do so. “Everyone who works for him has been screamed at,” a former adviser told me. Others said that they were wary of hurting his feelings. One business associate told me that Biden, during difficult conversations about his family, “got deeply melancholy, which, to me, is more painful than if someone yelled and screamed at me. It’s like you’ve hurt him terribly. That was always my fear, that I would be really touching a very fragile part of him.”

Obviously, there are legitimate questions here that can’t be papered over by just screaming, “Trump.”

Beto Goofs Again, Indicates the Only Thing Standing in the Way of Sweeping Leftist Reforms Is Trump

I swear, it’s like Robert “Beto” O’Rourke is trying to get President Donald Trump reelected.

O’Rourke still hasn’t figured out that the radical’s take is one that may play well to a very loud group of politically rabid people, but that group isn’t exactly large. The rest of the country wants next to nothing to do with it, and it shows with all the money, approval points, and audience Trump is getting.

Regardless, O’Rourke seems to believe that the radicals outnumber the Americans and he’s continuously saying things that indicate he’s with them.

The latest happened at TribFest 2019, where O’Rourke essentially admitted that the only thing standing between Democrats and passing sweeping leftist reforms that would fundamentally change the country is Trump.

“The best possible path, especially if you are concerned about a country that has never been more divided, perhaps more highly polarized every day, is for this president to resign,” O’Rourke said. “Allow this country to heal, and assure that we come back together with the greatest, most ambitious agenda we’ve ever faced, none of it possible while he remains in power.”

O’Rourke said Trump should take a page out of Nixon’s book and resign so that the left can do what it wants, according to the Daily Wire:

“I think back to what we saw in 1974 with [former president] Richard Nixon,” O’Rourke said. “At the end of the day, before we got to the end of the trial and the end of impeachment hearings, Republican senators went to the White House and met with the president and said for the good of the country, for the good of your political career, for any legacy that you want to be able to maintain, the right thing for you to do now is to step down.”

“And he did,” he continued. “I think there is a similar opportunity open to members of the Senate right now, and frankly, open to those around Donald Trump.”

For one, Nixon’s political career never recovered, and he was popularly known as the President who left the office in shame.

That said, O’Rourke doesn’t seem to understand that it’s not just Trump between Democrats and their reforms. Even if Trump goes, there is still VP Mike Pence, a Republican majority in the Senate, and a very strong possibility that in 2020, the Republicans will retake the House.

In fact, it may boil down to that since both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the unofficial leader of the Democrats, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are both willing to sacrifice the House if it means they get more votes towards Trump’s impeachment.

The real kicker here is that all of these Republicans won’t just achieve power by themselves, they’ll be voted in by the people. So, in truth, the real blockade standing between the radical left and its agenda is the American people, and O’Rourke can’t impeach or force them to resign.

The American people don’t want what the radicals want and O’Rourke just essentially told them that if they don’t support Trump, he and his hard-left allies are going to steamroll over everything. No wonder Trump’s approval rating continues to rise to the point where he’s now beating what Obama’s was around this time in his presidency.

This is almost as bad as the time O’Rourke straight up admitted that he wanted to take our guns.

Kamala Harris Calls for Twitter to Silence Donald Trump and Doesn’t Care if It’s Censorship

California Senator and 2020 Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is definitely on board the censorship train as she called for Twitter to silence President Donald Trump by suspending his account. Her reasoning? His tweets about the whistleblower are mean.

Appearing on CNN with Anderson Cooper, Harris made a show of saying the government would protect this poor whistleblower from Trump, and that Trump’s tweets are causing more harm than good about it and everything else. As such, Harris suggested Twitter take action.

“The President’s tweets and behaviors about this are just further evidence of the fact that he uses his power that is designed to beat people down instead of lift people up,” said Harris.

“Frankly, when you look at what he’s been tweeting today, directed at the whistleblower, directed at so many people, I frankly, think that based on this and all we’ve seen him do before, including attacking members of Congress that frankly his Twitter account should be suspended,” said continued.

“I think there’s plenty of now evidence to suggest that he is irresponsible with his words in a way that could result in harm to other people. And so the privilege of using those words in that way should probably be taken from him,” she added.

Cooper asked if this would be seen as proof that Twitter and the left are out to silence people, but Harris didn’t seem to care and said that if Trump won’t censor himself then there needs to be “mechanisms” in place to do it.

“If he’s not going to exercise self-restraint, then, perhaps, there should be other mechanisms in place to make sure that his words do not, in fact, harm anyone,” she said.

For one, Twitter has already said it will take no action against the President, as he is a world leader and his tweets are valuable information for the public.

However, this is all rich coming from Harris. The Senator likes to put forward the idea that she’s the opposite of Trump and is more concerned about lifting others up than keeping them down, but the problem is that Harris is known for keeping people down, as in, in prison for longer than they should have been in order to use them for cheap labor.

Her sins as a District Attorney were put on display by Rep. Tulsi Gabbard during a debate and instead of offering a substantive argument, Harris simply made it clear that she was more popular than Gabbard.

Some uplifter.

The bottom line here, however, is that Harris wants to silence someone because she doesn’t like their tweets. The question that should be asked is, if she’s willing to do it to one person, how many more people do you think she’d try to pressure Twitter to silence when she has the power of the White House behind her?

Democrats, Media Wet Themselves Over a New Trump “Scandal” Involving the Australians

Westlake Legal Group a8636803-f428-4e76-ab5b-b516cf1d9e5e-620x317 Democrats, Media Wet Themselves Over a New Trump “Scandal” Involving the Australians Ukraine Trump-Russia Investigation The New York Times scandal Politics phone call investigation Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story donald trump democrats crossfire hurricane Austrlians AG Barr

Just when you thought things couldn’t get dumber, Democrats and the media hand their beer off and go headfirst into another wall.

The background is of course the phone call between Trump and Zelensky, the Ukrainian President. On the call, Trump, after Zelensky brings up Giuliani’s work (which centered on Biden), simply asked if it could be looked into. He doesn’t ask for dirt to be manufactured, he doesn’t mention the 2020 election, and he applies no pressure or quid pro quo to the situation. Yet, we are assured this is an impeachable offense.

Naturally, because the narrative must be formed and solidified, now any foreign interaction involving any request about an investigation is being spun as scandalous.

The latest involves the Australians, who were at the center of the start up of Crossfire Hurricane, the Trump-Russia investigation. In reality, the Steele dossier clearly played a more significant role, but the claims about George Papadopoulos and an Aussie diplomat at a bar have become the go to excuse for why Democrats spent 2016 and beyond investigating a political enemy based on no evidence.

Trump, being the primary target, wants to get to the bottom of this and asked the Australians to cooperate with AG Bill Barr’s ongoing, official investigation into the matter. This set hair on fire across the left because apparently the president can’t even request cooperation in investigations anymore.

He “pushed” him! Unheard of!

This is ludicrous. The investigation into the origins of Crossfire Hurricane is an official investigation. It is completely legitimate and it is completely proper for a president to ask his foreign counterpart, who’s country is near the genesis of the matter, to cooperate with Barr.

Keep in mind that this interaction with the Australians is yet another illegal leak as well. So the intel community, in the middle of insisting Trump is the bad guy here, are still leaking information for political reasons. Instead of questioning this, the media are running with it like lackeys, not even stopping to wonder how coordinated this all feels.

The pushing of this story does reveal something, and it is that the Democrats think they have a weak hand on impeachment. That’s why they are rushing to reinforce a narrative that Trump was acting improperly regularly. Evidence doesn’t bear that out but this Australian thing lets them say “look, he asked someone else to help him politically!” No, he asked someone else to cooperate with an investigation which needs to happen.

Meanwhile, the IC is scrambling, throwing everything they’ve got out there for one reason. The IG report on their misbehavior is coming and they want to cover themselves, muddying the water as much as possible. In reality, that’s what all this is about. It’s not a coincidence these leaks happened right before the DOJ was getting ready to drop the hammer.

They are scared. We’ll see if their strategy of screaming “look a squirrel” works.
