U.S. Embassy Pressured Ukrainian Officials To End Investigation Of Soros Group In 2016

Anyone who’s ever worked on a jigsaw puzzle knows that the process is tedious in the beginning. First, we place all the similar colored pieces in small groups, try various configurations and then we see how two groups might fit together and so on. At a certain point, the progress becomes faster until finally, a picture starts to emerge.

We’ve reached the point where old information that once seemed disconnected and meaningless now makes sense based on new developments.

Unless you’ve been on Mars for the last few days, you know that former Vice President Joe Biden threatened to withhold U.S. aid unless the Ukrainian government fired then-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in March 2016. He was about to question Biden’s son, Hunter, about his involvement in Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company.

Back in March (of this year), investigative reporter John Solomon interviewed Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko, who replaced Shokin.

Lutsenko told Solomon that in April 2016, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s office was investigating a nonprofit called the Anti-Corruption Action Centre (AntAC). The concern was that $4.4 million the U.S. had sent to help fight corruption in Ukraine had been improperly diverted.

This so-called anti-corruption organization, AntAC, was co-founded by the Obama administration and George Soros.

Shortly before Lutsenko took office, then-U.S. Embassy Charge d’ Affaires George Kent sent a letter to the Prosecutor General’s office. He wrote, “The investigation into the Anti-Corruption Action Center (sic), based on the assistance they have received from us, is similarly misplaced.” Kent also indicated that “U.S. officials had no concerns about how the U.S. aid had been spent.”

Soon after taking office, Lutsenko was summoned to the U.S. Embassy to meet the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

Lutsenko told Solomon that Yovanovitch handed him “a list of people whom we should not prosecute.” (The list included a founder of the AntAC group and two members of Parliament who vocally supported the group’s anti-corruption reform agenda.)

I guess that’s what happens when one tries to investigate an Obama administration/Soros group.

Solomon wrote:

It was collaborating with the FBI agents investigating then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s business activities with pro-Russian figures in Ukraine.

The implied message to Ukraine’s prosecutors was clear: Don’t target AntAC in the middle of an America presidential election in which Soros was backing Hillary Clinton to succeed another Soros favorite, Barack Obama, Ukrainian officials said.

“We ran right into a buzzsaw and we got bloodied,” a senior Ukrainian official told me.

Lutsenko suggested the embassy applied pressure because it did not want Americans to see who was being funded with its tax dollars. “At the time, Ms. Ambassador thought our interviews of the Ukrainian citizens, of the Ukrainian civil servants who were frequent visitors in the U.S. Embassy, could cast a shadow on that anti-corruption policy,” he said.

State officials told me privately they wanted Ukraine prosecutors to back off AntAC because they feared the investigation was simply retribution for the group’s high-profile efforts to force anti-corruption reforms inside Ukraine, some of which took authorities and prestige from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

But it was an unusual intervention, the officials acknowledged. “We’re not normally in the business of telling a country’s police force who they can and can’t pursue, unless it involves an American citizen we think is wrongly accused,” one official said.

In the end, no action was taken against AntAC and it remains thriving today. Nonetheless, the anecdote is taking on new significance.

First, it conflicts with the State Department’s official statement last week after Lutsenko first mentioned the do-not-prosecute list. The embassy responded that the claim was a fabrication and a sign that corruption is alive and well inside Ukraine.

But Kent’s letter unequivocally shows the embassy did press Ukrainian prosecutors to back off what normally would be considered an internal law enforcement matter inside a sovereign country. And more than a half-dozen U.S. and Ukrainian sources confirmed to me the AntAC case wasn’t the only one in which American officials exerted pressure on Ukrainian investigators in 2016.

When I asked State to explain the letter and inclusion of the Soros-connected names during the meeting, it demurred. “As a general rule, we don’t read out private diplomatic meetings,” it responded. “Ambassador Yovanovitch represents the President of the United States in Ukraine, and America stands behind her and her statements.”

Second, the AntAC anecdote highlights a little-known fact that the pursuit of foreign corruption has resulted in an unusual alliance between the U.S. government and a political mega-donor.

If this account is correct, the Obama administration pressured a foreign government to drop an investigation into an organization they had co-founded along with activist George Soros. They were interested in preventing American taxpayers from learning how their tax dollars were being spent as well as concealing their collaboration with Soros. But, above all, they were each doing their part to insure that Hillary Clinton won the presidency.

Another piece of the puzzle involves Nellie Ohr who worked for Fusion GPS along with Christopher Steele. During her testimony last summer, she told lawmakers that a major source of the information she provided to the FBI was a Ukrainian official. I plan to hit that tomorrow.

Remember when Joe Biden told us the Obama administration was scandal-free?

Note: Solomon’s lengthy article goes into depth about the cozy relationships between the ambassador, embassy personnel, an FBI agent who was in charge of international fraud cases and one of the lead agents in the Manafort investigation in Ukraine and others. The entire piece can be viewed here.

President Trump Ratchets Up the Pressure On Joe Biden’s Involvement In Hunter Biden’s Rampant Grifting

Yesterday, I predicted that the whole “whistleblower” kerfuffle is likely to end up damaging Joe Biden much more than it will Donald Trump. The reasons for that are simple. The whole allegation is nonsense as we now know the whistleblower had neither heard the phone call nor even seen transcripts. In fact, by legal definition he’s not really a whistleblower he’s what’s called a “rumormonger” and there is no statute that protects those. Secondly, even if it is true, it is hard to see the foul play as the allegation of Hunter Biden’s grift has been the subject of media attention on the past and the Obama administration had leaned on Ukraine to stop their investigation. This, alone, merits asking the Ukrainians to reopen the case. Third, as the left told us about Trump during the Russia Hoax, if he’s not guilty he not only has nothing to fear but should welcome the opportunity to clear his name. And while Trump is merely contending with piss-ants like Adam Schiff, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are pushing the Biden story behind the scenes which will make it much harder to ignore.

But the main reason this is likely to fatally damage Biden’s nomination hopes is because of who he is facing: President Donald Trump. Not only does Trump have the megaphone to keep this story going, he is rarely constrained by convention in what he will say. For instance, this is from today:

Not only Ukraine, take a look at China. They [Biden’s] took a tremendous amount of money out of China. If they over took over China negotiations he would sell us out. Look at all the money he made in China. The son, he knew nothing. The son is the stiff, he knew nothing. And he’s making hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars. And he did the same thing in Ukraine. He knows nothing. This is a very dishonest thing that Joe Biden did.

And then he said he never spoke to his son. Does anybody believe that one? But then he also said, long before, that he did speak to his son. So he lied. Again. But what he said, that he wouldn’t give, I think it was billions of dollars to Ukraine unless they fired the prosecutor who was looking at his son and his son’s company, the company that his son worked with. Thats a very dishonest thing.

I’m not looking to hurt Biden, I’m not even looking to hold him to it, to be honest. But he said a very bad thing. He said a very foolish thing.

Now me, on the other hand, my conversations with the president, the new president was perfect. They put out a statement last night. They said the same thing. It was a warm friendly conversation. There was no quid pro quo. There was nothing. It was a perfect conversation.

And, quite honestly, Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s grift needs to be looked into. Hunter Biden, with no relevant experience, got a seat on Amtrak’s board of directors. Joe Biden encourages Ukraine to increase gas production and Hunter Biden gets another board seat that paid, depending upon who you quote, $50-80,000/month. Hunter Biden travels with dear old Dad to Beijing aboard Air Force Two and returns with a private equity deal valued at $1.5 billion.

Some of the mainstream media will sandbag this story and cover it with the usual hand-waving and assurances that there is nothing going on, but there is something going on. If they choose not to cover it, you can bet Trump’s twitter feed will make that known. And even if Biden is not actively involved in criminal activity, something that remains unproven at this juncture, the narrative is very easy for everyone, Republican and Democrat, to understand. And that narrative is not helpful to Joe Biden.

AOC: The biggest scandal of all is that the Democratic House hasn’t impeached Trump yet

Westlake Legal Group p-3 AOC: The biggest scandal of all is that the Democratic House hasn’t impeached Trump yet zelensky Ukraine The Blog schiff pelosi ocasio-cortez military impeachment impeach democrats biden aid

The word “Pelosi” isn’t mentioned here but everyone knows who the chief brake on impeachment in the House is. And thus everyone knows who these tweets are aimed at, including Nancy.

Looks like the Speaker’s truce with the Squad is officially over.

Remember that a majority of House Democrats (137 at last check, to be exact) already supported impeachment before the whistleblower news started bubbling. The remaining holdouts may hold out a bit longer to see if the whistleblower complaint is released and if it’s as bad as it’s cracked up to be, but unless it’s a total bust the political calculus may have changed on impeachment even for centrist Dems. At some point it becomes more perilous to them in a purple district to defy their base by opposing impeachment than to defy right-leaning swing voters by supporting it.

As expected, Trump has already begun the process of admitting to part of what he’s accused of, just as he famously did in the Lester Holt interview after firing Comey when he acknowledged that the Russia probe was on his mind when he dropped the axe. He hasn’t copped to threatening Ukraine’s president with a cut-off of U.S. military aid, but as to whether he asked him to investigate the son of the Democratic frontrunner for president, sure:

Whether he admits things against his own interest because he’s impetuous or because he’s calculated that misconduct seems less sinister when you frankly confess to it (“he wouldn’t admit to it if it were wrong, no?”) is unclear but a source of endless fascination. In any case, it was clear to all sides before the July 25 phone call between Trump and Zelensky that Trump viewed Ukraine dimly:

[T]he Trump administration has held Zelensky at arm’s length since his election in April.

Trump refused to set a firm date for an Oval Office meeting with the newly minted Ukrainian president at the White House — a sit-down that Ukraine has urgently sought to demonstrate Washington’s backing as it fights a long-simmering war with Russian-backed proxies in its east.

U.S. officials and members of the Trump administration wanted the meeting to go ahead, but Trump personally rejected efforts to set it up, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

By the time Trump and Zelensky spoke during the July 25 telephone call, the meeting at the White House still hadn’t been set. Soon after, it was disclosed that the White House had put a hold on $250 million in military aid for Ukraine after Trump ordered a review of the assistance package.

Ukraine is a stumbling block to better U.S.-Russia relations, which is one of Trump’s foreign policy goals, and Trump resents the fact that Ukrainian officials allegedly tried to help Hillary in 2016. Having been frozen out by the White House, with the president bearing a grudge towards his country and U.S. military aid hanging in the balance, Zelensky must have understood that he was in no position to turn down a “request” from Trump whether or not it was framed explicitly as a threat. Telling Trump no when he asked about reopening the Biden probe would have risked a complete rupture of U.S.-Ukraine relations.

But what did Trump say to him, exactly? POTUS says he’s considering releasing the transcript of his call with Zelensky. Biden is demanding it, and even Trump allies are urging him to do it in hopes of putting the matter to bed. Pelosi, however, wants more than just the transcript of the call — she wants to see the whistleblower complaint, which, you may remember, allegedly involves a series of actions, not just the call between Trump and a still-unnamed foreign leader. Within the past few hours she issued a new statement about it, this time sounding more impeach-y than ever:

As you’ll see below, Adam Schiff sounds more resigned to impeachment than before too, telling Tapper this morning that Democrats may have no choice but to cross the Rubicon this time. If they’re going to do it, Pelosi will want them to do it as soon as possible in order to mitigate any electoral backlash that may result. Democrats know that acquittal in the Senate is a foregone conclusion and they don’t want impeachment drama interfering with the Democratic primary campaign next year. If the whistleblower complaint is released and the left’s impeachment push becomes irresistible by leadership, they’re better off rushing impeachment through and letting McConnell kill it before New Year’s so that the party can turn the page to the election and angry right-leaning voters will have time to cool off. “I did my duty,” Pelosi will tell AOC and progressives. “Now get off my back.”

The Real Foreign Collusion Occurred Between Pro-Clinton Ukrainians And The DNC

Westlake Legal Group Wasserman-Schultz-re-elected-DNC-leader-620x348 The Real Foreign Collusion Occurred Between Pro-Clinton Ukrainians And The DNC Serhiy Leshchenko Sen. Chuck Grassley Paul Manafort

At a 2017 briefing, White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said:

If you’re looking for an example of a campaign coordinating with a foreign country or a foreign source, look no further than the DNC, who actually coordinated opposition research with the Ukrainian Embassy.

Very few people believed her.

For three years, Democrats and the mainstream media have flooded the airwaves with stories about President Trump’s collusion with Russia or his attempts to obstruct the investigation. There were a few voices, very few, who began pointing out the real foreign collusion that occurred throughout 2016. Fox News’ Dan Bongino and The Hill’s John Solomon were two of the earliest to recognize the coordination between corrupt pro-Hillary Clinton Ukrainians and the Democratic National Committee. Although Clinton lost the election, the effects of their interference can still be felt today. Especially for Paul Manafort.

To gain a better understanding of what happened, it’s helpful to know the backstory. No one does a better job of this than writer/commentator Dan Bongino in his book “Spygate.” If you haven’t read the book, I highly recommend it. But I will include relevant excerpts.

A pro-Western Ukrainian lawyer and activist named Alexandra Chalupa stands at the center of this story. She hated Manafort for his role in the re-election of pro-Russian Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in 2010 and his subsequent work for the pro-Russian party in Ukraine.

In early 2016, Manafort reached out to Trump and soon became the chairman of his campaign. Bongino wrote that “due to Manafort’s connections to Russian billionaires and Ukrainian politicians close to Putin, his hiring by Trump fueled whispered speculation that Russian forces controlled the campaign.”

Bongino added that “allegations of Trump-Russia collusion started to gain steam” once Manafort joined the team and that much of this narrative was driven by Alexandra Chalupa.

Chalupa had worked as a consultant for the DNC and for Democratic politicians including several Clinton campaign officials. Between 2004 and 2016, she had earned $412,000 from the DNC, but left to focus on researching or rather “destroying” Manafort. Chalupa had “watched him since 2014.” According to Bongino:

The moment Manafort joined the Trump team, Chalupa alerted the DNC of the “threat” of Russian influence. Chalupa’s sister, Andrea, spread the word on a Ukrainian television show calling Manafort’s hiring a “huge deal” and describing him as the “puppet master of some of the most vile dictators around the world.” His hiring, she said sent a “very, very, very, very, very serious warning bell going off.” This fear was rooted in the belief that Manafort was the mastermind behind Yanukovych’s corruption.

Chalupa was a woman on a mission. Determined to broadcast her message to the world, she began by enlisting the help of journalists. Yahoo News’ Michael Isikoff came on board and began writing a series of articles which portrayed both Manafort and the Trump campaign in a rather nefarious light. Her strategy was quite effective.

On May 3, 2016, she emailed an associate at the DNC:

I spoke to a delegation of 68 investigative journalists from Ukraine last Wednesday at the Library of Congress…they put me on the program specifically to speak about Paul Manafort and I invited Michael Isikoff who I’ve been working with for the past few weeks and connected him to the Ukrainians. More offline tomorrow since there is a big Trump component you and Lauren need to be aware of that will hit in the next few weeks.

“Following the event, she and Isikoff headed over to the Ukrainian embassy for a reception,” Bongino wrote.

Chalupa’s smear campaign involved journalists and diplomats as well as contacts inside the DNC. She obviously had many contacts from her years in Washington and her message was easy to sell.

Still, Manafort continued to hang on until August 19th when the New York Times reported that:

Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Bureau found a black ledger in a bank vault abandoned by Yanukovych showing $12 million in cash payments earmarked for Manafort by Yanukovych’s political party. “Investigators assert that the disbursements were part of an illegal off-the-books system whose recipients also include election officials. In addition, criminal prosecutors are investigating a group of offshore shell companies that helped members of Mr. Yanukovych’s inner circle finance their lavish lifestyles.”

Manafort had no choice but to resign from the campaign. The identity of the leaker remains a mystery to this day. But, considering the news was damaging to Manafort and Trump and helpful to the Hillary campaign, and that Chalupa had devoted herself full-time to the business of destroying Manafort, I suppose we can guess who was behind it.

In 2016, the Ukrainian government was convinced of two things. First they believed that a pro-Ukraine Hillary Clinton administration would benefit their country far more than a pro-Russian Trump administration would. And second, they were sure that Clinton would win the election.

Politico writers Kenneth Vogel and David Stern interviewed Alexandra Chalupa for their January 2017 article. She told them she had developed a network of sources in Kiev and Washington, including investigative journalists, government officials and private intelligence operatives. She also said that Ukrainian government officials gave her information to pass along to the DNC. She later denied both of these statements.

Recall that Hillary Clinton’s campaign had previously bailed out the DNC financially and essentially controlled it.

(After reading the Politico story, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-OH) grew concerned about Chalupa’s activities and wrote to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who did not respond.

Grassley wrote:  “Chalupa’s actions appear to show that she was simultaneously working on behalf of a foreign government, Ukraine, and on behalf of the DNC and Clinton campaign, in an effort to influence not only the US voting population, but US government officials.”

Grassley wanted to know why she hadn’t been required to register under FARA. He also questioned why other Clinton confidantes such as Sidney Blumenthal, John Kornblum and Tony Podesta hadn’t either, especially when Mueller had brought charges against Paul Manafort for his failure to register as a foreign agent.)

Chalupa also told Politico that the embassy worked directly with reporters researching Trump, Manafort and Russia to point them in the right directions. Unsurprisingly, Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., Valeriy Chaly, and one of his top aides, Oksana Shulyar,” vehemently denied working with reporters or with Chalupa on anything related to Trump or Manafort, explaining “we were stormed by many reporters to comment on this subject, but our clear and adamant position was not to give any comment [and] not to interfere into the campaign affairs.””

But Andrii Telizhenko, who worked as a political officer in the Ukrainian Embassy under Shulyar, said she instructed him to help Chalupa research connections between Trump, Manafort and Russia. “Oksana said that if I had any information, or knew other people who did, then I should contact Chalupa,” recalled Telizhenko, who is now a political consultant in Kiev. “They were coordinating an investigation with the Hillary team on Paul Manafort with Alexandra Chalupa,” he said, adding “Oksana was keeping it all quiet,” but “the embassy worked very closely with” Chalupa.

Telizhenko recalled that Chalupa told him and Shulyar that, “If we can get enough information on Paul [Manafort] or Trump’s involvement with Russia, she can get a hearing in Congress by September.”

Chalupa confirmed that, a week after Manafort’s hiring was announced, she discussed the possibility of a congressional investigation with a foreign policy legislative assistant in the office of Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio), who co-chairs the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus. But, Chalupa said, “It didn’t go anywhere.”

Another important character in this story is Ukrainian Parliamentarian Serhiy Leshchenko who revealed the black ledger. Dan Bongino points out that at the same time, this same story appears in Christopher Steele’s dossier. This led people to see the dossier as confirmation that the story of the “black ledger found in the empty bank vault” was legitimate. It also implies coordination between Chalupa, Steele, Leshchenko, Fusion GPS and the DNC.

Leshchenko spoke to the Financial Times after revealing the black ledger. “A Trump presidency would change the pro-Ukrainian agenda in American foreign policy. For me, it was important to show not only the corruption aspect, but that he is a pro-Russian candidate who can break the geopolitical balance in the world.”

Joe Biden Says Male Prisoners Should Be Allowed to Demand Access to Female Prisons, This Is a Dangerously Stupid Idea

On Friday night, Joe Biden was at LGBTQIA+ (add more letters, numbers and special characters as needed) Forum in Iowa. He spent some time trying to explain away his previously held, and imminently logical, positions on homosexual marriage and homosexuals in the military and condescend just a bit to organizers. No word if any arms were squeezed or hair sniffed. But there was one interesting segment which is not going to get the attention that it should.

…yes, and by the way, in prison, in prison the determination should be that your sexual identity is defined by what you say it is not what in fact the prison says it is. In that case, you should be entitled, also, to Ob-Gyn…anyway…you didn’t ask that question…

The best you can say about this is that it is a shameless pander to a fringe element of a fringe element. The worst you can say is that Biden actually believes this and that would make him dangerously stupid.

This is not merely a guest. We actually have a test case of what happens when a prison system adopts this policy. Naturally, it comes from a nation that has thrown away all pretensions of being serious, Great Britain.

David Thompson was a sexual predator with a nearly two decade history of offenses.

White, formerly known as David Thompson, had a history of sexually offending which stretched back to 1989 when he indecently exposed himself to a nine year old boy near a children’s playground.

In 2001 he sexually assaulted and committed gross indecency on a 12 year old boy in Leeds, and two years later raped a pregnant woman after spiking her soft drink with vodka.

He also committed multiple rapes of a 23 year old woman before changing his gender and demanding to be known as Karen.

Britain being Britain, he’d largely skated on these offenses. Around 2014 he moved into a public housing project and demanded to be known as “Karen White.” Again, naturally, everyone went along with him. In 2017, he was arrested for “grievous bodily harm, burglary, multiple rapes and other sexual offences against women” and held without bond. While he was being held, he made his claim of being a woman and the gutless bureaucracy, rather than offend his delicate sensibilities, moved him to a women’s prison. What the f*** ever could go wrong? Glad you asked that:

After initially being charged with the prison sex attacks, White had told the court she could not be guilty because she was not attracted to women and also suffered from erectile dysfunction.

But at a previous hearing, prosecutor, Charlotte Dangerfield told Leeds Magistrates’ Court that she had carried out the first offence within days of arriving at the prison.

The prosecutor said White had struck up a relationship with a fellow inmate which had quickly become inappropriate.

She explained: “The defendant would stand very close to her, touch her arm and wink at her. Her penis was erect and sticking out of the top of her trousers.”

On September 26 last year White approached another inmate. Miss Dangerfield said: “She made inappropriate comments about oral sex, which made the complainant feel sick.

“She took hold of the complainant’s hand and put it on the defendant’s left breast – she could feel her padded bra.”

On a third occasion on 5 October White again made inappropriate comments about oral sex to another prisoner.

“She gave her a bear hug and the defendant pushed her hips towards her with such force that the complainant could feel his penis,” said Miss Dangerfield.

Thompson drew a life sentence for his crimes along with his brief reign of terror at the women’s prison…he has to serve 9 1/2 years before he’s eligible for parole.

I’ll just state upfront that my personal view is that transgenderism is mostly a sexual perversion drafting in the slipstream of an extremely rare yet trendy mental disorder. For every one adult suffering from some kind of definable confusion about their own gender, there are a dozen who will demand to have their balls waxed or insist on playing on girls’s athletic teams or using women’s bathrooms. That society has allowed this to take root is a lasting shame to Western Civilization…or the mangy, scrofulous remnant of that once magnificent edifice that dominates today. It is one thing to go along with this madness in day-to-day life, it is another thing entirely to let the felons set the condition of their incarceration. Prisons are not there for the self-actualization of felons. Their feelings are not the objective, the objective is them a) completing their sentence without b) killing or injuring staff or other inmates. That Biden can’t grasp that elementary concept shows he’s more unsuited for the Presidency than Trump on his worst day.

The Far Left is Making Teens Miserable Over the Imminent Destruction of the World

Everyone needs to wake up. And realize what the smartest among us — that would be, the teenagers — know.

Get off your couch and fix the world, ya cretins.

The teens can’t do it all themselves.

At a climate forum this week in D.C., teen Alyssa Wiseman made things clear: “We no longer have the luxury of time.”

Yep. You’re all necessary to save the world:

“Each and every voice is necessary to bring change. My name is Alyssa Wiseman, and I am here as a concerned citizen. As a child, I should not have to worry about my future. But my future is in jeopardy. All of our futures are in jeopardy. Your children’s futures are in jeopardy.”

She’s right — she shouldn’t have to worry.

But when you know the future so certainly, how can you not?

“We have only 11 years to rectify decades of damage that we have inflicted on our planet. And only 18 months until some damages are irreversible. We no longer have the luxury of time. We do not have the luxury of gradual change. We are in the midst of a global emergency. And we must act fast if we want to survive.”

I genuinely feel sorry for teens today. Many must be abjectly despondent, given all they’re being taught.

It isn’t Alyssa’s fault — she isn’t yet wise enough to question what she’s heard.

After all, there was once another young, misled pawn whose youth got the best of them via similar fears, manifested by comparable claims:

Fourteen years ago, a gullible, very impressionable youngster by the name of 57-year-old Al Gore was told we only had 10 years to save the world. The poor kid told eeeeeverybody.

And he fought it all over the world — except at his own house, where he ran up electric bills “21.3 times that of the U.S. household average” (here).

And more recently, 29-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went to fightin’ all those fartin’ cows. And all buildings everywhere (here, here, here, and here). The frequent flyer even declared war on plane travel (here).

As reported by The Daily Wire, another juvenile trying to make a difference is 16-year-old Greta Thunberg. The Swedish teen’s been praised for her efforts, which have included talk time at the United Nations and on the floor of the U.S. Congress.

At least something good’s coming out of Sweden — Wednesday, I had to lament the evil of Ikea (here).

Greta knows, not only about the times in which we live, but also all things which have ever existed in all places and at all times since the beginning of time:

“This is the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced, and we need to treat it accordingly.”

Naturally, she’s anti-Trump:

“I don’t want to meet with people who don’t accept the science.”

Apropos, activist Reina Hatcher took to the mic in Washington to speak for the trees:

ComfyBoo had something to say about that:

As did Jshep72:

I don’t blame the young people trying to save the world. They’re trying to do great things. At that age, who can possess great perspective?

But I can’t help but feel the adults are making them miserable.

And I wish it weren’t so.

Because they know better. Or should.

If you’ve been alive and paying attention to the news the last two days, you’ve heard of the “scandal” involving Trump and a phone call with Ukraine’s new President. At first, Trump was accused of extortion via anonymous sources, claiming he had threatened on the call to withhold $250 million in military aid unless Joe Biden was investigated. As I predicted when the story broke, that story end up blowing up into a million pieces.

What we are left with is a lot of questions about Biden and he seems to be really on edge every time he’s asked about his extortion of Ukraine, which he admitted to on tape, and his son’s dealings in the country.

Here’s Biden yesterday chiding a Fox News reporter for not asking the “right” question.

He sure seems to be hiding something. That’s how this game goes now right? If one doth protest too much and obfuscate from talking about corrupt looking foreign interactions, there must be something there. Or at least that’s been the rule the last three years, so no use changing it now. We clearly need a full investigation and years of of nonstop media speculation to be sure of what’s going on here. Further, Biden should fully cooperate and look forward to being exonerated.

That won’t happen though. Even the President asking he be investigated is suddenly off limits and bandied about as a scandal. Never mind that the Obama administration worked with numerous foreign governments to target the Trump campaign in 2016 or that the DNC worked directly with the then Ukrainian ambassador to get dirt on Paul Manafort. Now, all the sudden, any interactions with foreign entities about political opponents, even if legitimate suspicions exist, is bad. Funny how that works.

Trump and Republicans should keep pushing this. Biden may end up the nominee, but he shouldn’t be allowed to skate by without addressing major questions about his activity. No one forced Biden to brag that he and he alone threatened Ukraine with $1B in loan guarantees unless they fired a prosector who just happened to be looking directly at his son. Perhaps it’s all a big misunderstanding? Then let him prove it.

VIDEO. Antifa Goons Get Thrashed By Federal Protective Service As They Attack An ICE Facility

Yesterday, a couple of thousand people showed up in Portland for the Climate Strike. This was a coordinated worldwide event in which the least educated and most credulous among us demanded that the rest of us join them in moving society back to the Stone Age. [Every once in a while I muse over just how few of the Michael Mann types would survive in the society they are trying to create where there would be no major income streams of grant money, they would have to actually work to survive, and we might be inclined to hunt them for sport.]

As you know, you can’t have a demonstration in Portland without antifa or bloc or whatever they are calling themselves. So, naturally, they set out to attack the DHS/ICE facility in Portland. That’s when they found out that they weren’t opposed by Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s ineffectual and anarchist-sympathetic police force but by people who took their duties and responsibilities seriously.

It is really a shame that no one has yet identified the noxious little toad who appears at 0:23 because it would be a service to the nation to treat him the way that CNN treats a meme maker.

Not surprisingly, these clowns are major league p***ies when they aren’t hitting people from behind with bicycle locks

What sniveling little b****es they are.

If more police forces aggressively confronted this nonsense…and more prosecutors took this nascent terrorism seriously and started charging felonies…this crap would cease. As it is, it is pretty inevitable that eventually one of these clashes is going to turn deadly and leave some of these cretins dead and we’ll have to pretend that we are sad or something.

Vigorously Heterosexual Cory Booker Tells Staff He’s on the Verge of Dropping out of the Democrat Primary

A lot of people thought Cory Booker was The Man this year. He had a good resume. He was telegenic. He was not as profoundly stupid as many of his rivals. I don’t know if Joe Biden pronounced him an “articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy” but he was the beau ideal of vigorously heterosexual maleness…I mean he even had one admitted instance of sexual assault to demonstrate his brush with toxic masculinity and received absolution from CNN…and naturally he has a sorta hot (YMMV) girlfriend and his campaign floated rumors that there may be an engagement in the offing. Unfortunately, the more people saw of Booker the less they was Spartacus and the more they realized what kind of a pathetic poseur and loser he is and so his campaign never caught fire. Right now, in the RCP average, he’s trailing Andrew Yang (who dat?).

CREDIT: RealClearPoltiics,

This anemic polling has led to anemic fundraising and while you can win the Democrat primary as a poseur and loser (see Clinton, Hillary) you can’t win it as a broke poseur and loser. Now we’re down to crunch time and Booker has told his staff the situation is grim:

[Booker campaign manager, Addisu] Demissie said the campaign has enough money to keep going at its current pace if it wanted to, but not enough to expand operations before voting starts early next year and that Booker doesn’t want stay in the race if he doesn’t think he can win.

“If our campaign is not in a financial position to grow, he’s not going to continue to consume resources and attention that can be used to focus on beating Donald Trump, which needs to be everyone’s first priority,” Demissie wrote.

Booker’s campaign has struggled nationally. He averages at just under 3 percent support in the polls, according to Real Clear Politics.

He warned other candidates were in similar situations and that the historically large 2020 field “is about to narrow dramatically.”

“Booker might not be in this race for much longer — the same is true for other important voices in the field,” Demissie wrote.

He argued there probably only four campaigns with the “money necessary to build and sustain the national organization needed to win,” presumably referring to former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, who raised more money last quarter than any other candidate.

I think Demissie is correct. Outside of the four top fundraisers he lists, only Yang has the resources to stay in the race much past the October debate. If Joe Biden doesn’t self-immolate or hasn’t been extradited to Ukraine by then, only people with the money to enable them to compete in actual caucuses and primaries are going to be in the race. He’s obviously trying to open wallets and checkbooks and PayPal accounts among progressive voters, but so is everyone else and when you’re living in Mom’s basement and working as a barrista, you don’t have much left over for political donations after your weed budget is set aside.

The Whistleblower Scandal Is More Likely to Take out Joe Biden Than It Is to Hurt Trump

Westlake Legal Group JoeBiden The Whistleblower Scandal Is More Likely to Take out Joe Biden Than It Is to Hurt Trump whistleblower Ukraine republicans Politics Joe Biden International Affairs hunter biden Front Page Stories Foreign Policy donald trump democrats corruption Allow Media Exception

As Bonchie posted yesterday, this whole Ukraine flap has all the makings of yet another media generated faux scandal that will end in nothing. (See As Predicted, that Trump-Ukraine “Whistle-Blower” Story Just Blew Up In Epic Fashion.) Now we’re learning that the alleged whistleblower really isn’t a whistleblower or entitled to any kind of protection because that person never heard the call nor read any transcripts, they had heard about it.

The way the story is developing, though, the worst you can say about Trump is that you don’t like what he did. Fine, I think we all have that feeling time and again. The stupidest thing you can say is this or something like it:

I think that we can all see from the way Goldberg and his fellow Vichyists pushed the Collusion Hoax that they have no issue whatsoever with a presidential campaign using the services of foreign intelligence services to attack a political opponent. In fact, these people were in the forefront of demanding Trump cooperate with the investigation because he should look forward to being exonerated. I can’t understand why they think Joe Biden isn’t chomping at the bit to have his name cleared or why they’re upset.

But some interesting things are happening that indicate that this story poses more of a danger to Joe Biden than to Donald Trump.

First, the story is not a hoax. Hunter Biden is a grift-o-matic and Joe Biden’s protection of his son has been an issue since early in the Obama administration. Here we have a reporter being stonewalled by a State Department spokeswoman (Jen Psaki, right?) over the rather grotesque appearance of a conflict of interest of Hunter Biden getting a lucrative job from Ukrainian oligarchs given the US involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war.

The reason he was asking about it is because it was a significant story despite what Biden tries to claim.

Unlike during the Obama administration when Hunter Biden’s propensity for shady deals would have attached to the Biden, personally, and through him to the Obama administration, now there are people inside the Democrat party who want to take Biden out. That’s why you have stories like this which are driving Biden fans crazy.

and this

The “more with sadness than anger” examinations of how Joe Biden got sucked into questionable acts in order to help his son. And it seems like some major media outlets and CNN might cover the story:

Making it sweeter is Joe Biden boasting about telling the Ukrainian government to shut down their investigation of his son or lose all funding.

Even the Usual Suspects on the left are pulling their chins and clucking that this is worthy:

Stoller is spot on. Trump’s actions are well within his authority as president and Trump’s disregard for protocol is largely baked into the equation. Biden was involved in a garden variety cover up of his son’s apparent corruption. More people understand that story than the attack on Trump. Mind you, I don’t believe for second, that this an diddly squat to do with them wanting to investigate Biden and everything to do with them realizing how weak a candidate Biden is and wanting him out of the race.

In this case, as hard as it is to believe, it is very easy to see Chris Hayes being completely right here
