Beto Starts Selling a Provocative New T-Shirt Because He Thinks He Can F-Word His Way to the White House

Red State’s Alex Parker wrote over the weekend about how failed U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke is campaigning for the “hip” vote with his frequent use of the f-word (including saying it unbleeped on live TV) to describe his frustration with the debate over gun rights in the aftermath of recent mass shootings.

In response to what we’re being led to believe is the rising popularity in Democratic circles for the struggling 2020 presidential candidate to use the f-word, the Beto campaign has come out with a new t-shirt in order to capitalize on the alleged momentum.

The Hill reports on what sparked it:

The Texas Democrat was at a campaign speech in Fairfax Station, Va., on Saturday when he heard news of another mass shooting in his home state, just weeks after 22 people were killed by a gunman inside an El Paso Walmart.

“Not sure how many gunmen. Not sure how many people have been shot. Don’t know how many people have been killed. The condition of those who have survived. Don’t know what the motivation is, do not yet know the firearms that were used or how they acquired them,” O’Rourke told a crowd of supporters in Virginia.

“But we do know this is f—ed up. We do know that this has to stop in this country. There is no reason that we have to accept this as our fortune, as our future, as our fate,” he continued.

[…]

O’Rourke defended his use of profanity during a Sunday interview on MSNBC, citing a tweet from Rabbi Latz.

“He said ‘profanity is not the f-bomb. What is profane is a 17 month-old baby being shot in the face,’” O’Rourke said.

Here’s the t-shirt the campaign is now selling. All proceeds go to Moms Demand Action and March For Our Lives:

Apparently Beto doesn’t realize that the f-word lost its shock value to most people a long time ago. Nevertheless, he persists. Because it’s cool or something.

Veteran journalist Brit Hume was among the many who questioned the strategy behind O’Rourke using the word:

But the shirt was totally spontaneous, y’all, according to the campaign’s Director of Creative and Product:

Just going by what I’ve read on social media, far more people are oohing and ahhing O’Rourke for using the word than those who are complaining about him using it. The outrage from the latter camp is over O’Rourke’s controversial gun confiscation proposal.

I’m not sure what’s more annoying: That he actually thinks using the f-word is going to change the debate about gun control in his favor, or that liberal men and women alike are swooning because they believe him saying things are “f’d up” means he’s super-passionate about the issue.

What kind of garbage human being sits around and waits for the opportunity to take appalling cheap shots against good guys with guns in the aftermath of a mass shooting?

A failed presidential candidate like Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA), that’s who.

The day after the horrific random mass shooting Saturday in Midland and Odessa, TX that left 7 dead and 22 injured, Swalwell quote-retweeted a post from 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke regarding the type of weapon the Odessa/Midland shooter used.

Here’s what Beto tweeted:

Swalwell responded that he agreed with O’Rourke on his proposal to confiscate all types of so-called “weapons of war” guns via a forced buyback program:

A Twitter user replied to Swalwell’s tweet with a suggestion on how to prevent future mass shootings:

It was in response to that tweet that Swalwell chose to cut loose on “good guys with guns”:

A lot of people took issue with Swalwell’s gutter swipe, including the NRSC’s Matt Whitlock. Check out how Swalwell replied to being called out for being a whiny loser:

Here’s the thing that ignorant, sexist pigs like Swalwell don’t think about when they tweet stuff like that:

1) He doesn’t know if any of the victims were armed and just didn’t have a chance to react because, you know, in mass shootings victims aren’t typically given that opportunity. If any of the surviving victims were armed, can you imagine how it would make them feel to see a sitting U.S. Congressman mock them?

2) Nobody outside of police and witnesses know if there was any realistic chance of anyone outside of law enforcement being able to successfully target the shooter without harming or killing others.

3) As Sen. Ted Cruz tweeted over the weekend, there are a lot of stories out there of good guys with guns who stopped either stopped a mass shooting, stopped one from getting worse, or who used a gun in self-defense of themselves or their loved ones.

Swalwell chooses to ignore those instances, because they don’t fit in with his agenda.

Is there any low to which this man will not stoop?

Ted Cruz Explains to Alyssa Milano the Correlation Between the Bible and the Right to Use a Gun for Self-Defense

In the aftermath of the horrific random mass shooting Saturday in Midland and Odessa, TX that left 7 dead and 22 injured, leftists and media types once again renewed their calls for stricter gun control.

They also attempted to ridicule the state of Texas over new laws that went into effect the day after the shooting that increased gun rights for residents.

In the midst of Democrats demanding more gun control and scolding Republicans over their expressions of thoughts and prayers, Texas State Rep. Matt Schaefer (R) took to the Twitter machine to talk about what he was “NOT going to do” in response to what happened Saturday:

Naturally, left-wing hacktivists like actress Alyssa Milano were outraged, and asked where exactly the right to own a gun was listed in the Bible.

Sen. Ted Cruz stepped up to the plate to calmly explain in a series of tweets:

Milano’s reaction to Cruz’s serious answers to her question was to deride them as “bull sh*t.” She also suggested they meet the next time she was in DC so she could broadcast it live for the world to see, because narcissistic virtue signaling is the only form of “activism” Milano knows how to do:

Cruz’s 10 tweet explainer on the Bible as it related to self defense was, of course, much better than Milano’s warped distortion of scripture to justify her support of abortion on demand back in April:

Bless her heart.

Red State’s Thomas LaDuke wrote last month about the left’s aggressive push to abolish the Electoral College on grounds that it somehow punishes minority voters. The movement was recently amplified in an Instagram Live video done by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as well as tweets she posted claiming black, Latino, and Indian voters were being “disenfranchised” by the Electoral College.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) had the audacity to respond to AOC’s claims at the time:

… which prompted Democrats like MSNBC’s Chris Hayes to make laughable arguments about how “if [the Electoral College] wasn’t specifically in the Constitution for the presidency, it would be unconstitutional”:

And in a lengthy piece were he absurdly argued AOC “understands democracy better than Republicans do” (which she retweeted), New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie asserted that arguments like Crenshaw’s in favor of the EC are “part and parcel of the drive to make American government a closed domain for a select, privileged few.”

In other words, racism, y’all. Because when all else fails, that is the card Democrats like to play.

In the middle of the Labor Day holiday weekend, Crenshaw clapped back in a video response in which he countered Hayes, Bouie, and other Democrats like AOC on abolishing the EC:

“A Republic is more stable,” Crenshaw said in the video. “It’s also more representative of the entirety of the country.”

He went on to note that a Republic has “institutional checks and balances between the three branches of government and an emphasis on state’s rights, so it’s really difficult to ram through sweeping policy that affects the entirety of the country.”

Crenshaw also stated that “because we have an equally apportioned Senate and Electoral College, it means smaller states have a voice. Smaller, more rural states actually have a voice both in the Congress and when electing our president.”

Watch his full video response below:

He also posted a series of tweets on this topic:

Well done.

The RedState Box Office Report – Gerard Butler Works the Labor Day Weekend

Gerry manages to rise up with “Fallen” yet again.

As I have stated prior, this stretch of the calendar is looked at by Hollywood as a lull in the schedule and this weekend proves that true. Despite the labor day weekend providing an extra day there are no major new releases, as traditionally families travel or look to many other activities.

The weekend total of the top-10 films combined makes for the third-lowest of the year. This makes for the third weekend in the month of August to register in the ten-weakest weekends of the year. These low fortunes will change by next week when the second chapter of the massively successful “It” arrives in theaters. Here are the films that did a bad job on Labor Day.

ANGEL HAS FALLEN – $11.57 Million
This third installment of the Gerard Butler franchise continues to exceed expectations. After doing better than projections last weekend the weekday totals were actually better than the second film, “London Has Fallen”. It seems assured to end up earning more than the final total for “London” of $62 million. The second-week drop of -46% is a strong performance against a decent opening and strong audience scores mean there should be more life ahead for this title. We can take some of the credit, as our month-long #ButlerFest on Twitter certainly helped launch this film to new heights!

GOOD BOYS – $9.19m
This Seth Rogan-produced bawdy youth comedy has been more than resilient, becoming a legitimate hit. It has earned almost $60 million to date, a bit more than expected and it is lingering near the top of the chart. This unique comedy about pre-teen boys has found the perfect niche in a soft schedule.

THE LION KING – $6.7m
Still printing money for Disney, this one is becoming a historical performer. $500 million earned stateside, and another $1 billion in international markets has moved this title to #7 all-time in global box office earnings.

HOBBS & SHAW – $6.28m
It crossed the $150 million level this week, and with more than $500 million in foreign business it is moving towards a $700 million global haul. That should be enough to generate further titles with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham teaming up for future outlandish adventures.

OVERCOMER – $5.7m
The faith-based offering was discounted at the release but it has steadily drawn audiences during the weekdays and quietly has reached $20 million already. Sony has seen some consistent success in partnering with Affirm Films, tapping into a steady religious audience with low-budget titles that turn a profit.

READY OR NOT – $5.61m
Following a disappointing opening, the arthouse effort has managed to steady itself and is finding some interest. Steady interest and a small drop of -30% has seen a bit of a recovery and has drawn $20 million to this point.

SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK – $5.0m
This was likely influenced because of “It”. What would seem like a natural Halloween frame release was instead brought out a month ago, and Lionsgate has been proven wise. It has drawn over $60 million to date which looks better than most predictions had been for this small horror offering for the younger set.

8. SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME – $4.26m
This success has likely been the reason behind the recent feud between Marvel and Sony, The two studios had agreed upon shared rights to the character on film, but following the “Avengers” run, and the last two independent releases being huge Marvel has wanted a larger piece of the profits. Sony, which has the rights to the character has since pulled back. As a sign as to why, It has a chance at becoming the most successful “Spider-Man” release, and is about to move into the top-10 all-time of Marvel titles. This title has been out for 9 weeks and is still showing on over 3,000 screens.

9. DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD – $4.14m
A sign of how far below expectations this is performing it has now been out a month and has yet to crawl over the $50 million plateaux.

10. THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 2 – $4.11m
Another underperforming release, so far it has not even earned one-third of the original movie’s total, nor one half of its production budget. It is doing better internationally, but not gangbusters.

When severe weather events are fast approaching land and threatening hundreds of thousands of lives, the last thing on any decent person’s mind is rooting for property destruction as a way of political revenge.

Unfortunately, former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell is not one of those decent people.

Alex Parker wrote earlier this week about a tweet Campbell posted on Wednesday in response to another tweet that labeled Hurricane Dorian as a “#majorhurricane threat” to Florida’s east coast, and to President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Here’s what Campbell, an apparent Trump Derangement Sufferer, said:

Though it’s been a long time since Campbell was Canada’s PM (1993), she still plays a very active role in Canadian politics at the highest levels:

Ms. Campbell has chaired the Independent Advisory Board on Supreme Court appointments since 2016. The panel of legal scholars is tasked with recommending potential candidates for seats on the Supreme Court to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Campbell, who was the Prime Minister for only 132 days, later clarified on Thursday that she didn’t actually want anyone at the Palm Beach resort to get hurt (thank goodness). But she still took the opportunity to blame Trump for the hurricane itself because of course:

She also initially told her critics to “get a grip”:

Fortunately her original tweet was screencapped because Campbell deleted it Friday morning with this explanation:

“I …sincerely apologize to all it offended” = not an actual apology.

Actor Allen Covert was one of the more high-profile Twitter users to blast Campbell’s comments:

As of this writing, here’s the latest projected path for Dorian:

Please take a moment to say some prayers for all in its path, including my beloved home state. As the arrival of the infamous fall flavoring is here WaPo manages to find reasons why it is something to be shamed.

If you have frequented social media at all in the past week or so you have probably been alerted to the arrival of products on the market infused with the seasonal flavor matrix known as “Pumpkin Spice”. This becomes one of those pedantic arguments that flare up in threads, with ardent supporters of the flavoring battling people with little substance who are unreasonably angered by a new product that is not a compulsory purchase.

Personally, I see the new selections of pumpkin-flavored beers sprouting up in coolers this time of year, and I steer clear. Having sampled this style in the past I have never once felt gratitude for doing so, nor been inspired to open a second bottle. But when I now see them I do fly off in an enraged tirade of opposition; I simply choose a different label to imbibe.

But now, as if the imbalanced social conflict over flavored coffee potions is not infantile enough, the Washington Post has arrived to further cast this herbal conflict into a deepening rift. It turns out, as the paper is reading history, that your Halloween-themed latte is the product of intolerance and you are tacitly supporting genocide.

But underneath those fuzzy-sweater vibes, the spices in “the PSL” have a dark history. Particularly nutmeg. It’s a story of war, genocide and slavery.

Yes, we are now entering the realm where soccer moms and frenzied secretaries who are ordering these drinks from Starbucks can be declared hate-filled proponents of ethnic-cleansing or some such. Beginning circa the 1400s, in what is modern-day Indonesia, a series of islands produced nutmeg that fed the growing global spice trade. Then the Europeans showed up and screwed up the process. The Portuguese came and muscled in for about a century, then others wanted in on the action in a fashion not unlike contemporary drug lords.

The Dutch showed up in 1599, and everything got gruesome soon afterward. They seized the islands, built a fort and informed the Bandanese they were no longer allowed to trade with anyone else, according to historian Vincent C. Loth.

This led to a number of violent skirmishes between the Dutch and the Bandanese, Loth wrote. Then in 1621, Dutch Governor-General Jan Pieterszoon Coen led 2,000 troops on an assault on the Bandanese. Their leaders were beheaded, and the wealthy were enslaved and sent overseas. The remaining inhabitants fled into the mountains, where, over the following months, nearly all met one of three fates: They were murdered in Dutch attacks, starved to death, or jumped off cliffs in despair.

In the interest of full disclosure, this writer is of Dutch lineage. (All complaints of inherent hatred and crass appropriation should be sent to the editors.)

I believe now it is evident for all to see that anyone who dares purchase these seasonal caffeine delivery systems, or bastardized variations of zymurgy formulas, is actually supporting the very violent acts that we are trying to curtail. Look at the closing factoid provided by The Post.

In a bid to end a skirmish with English claimants to the nutmeg harvest the Dutch turned over another island as compensation. The English then redubbed New Amsterdam as Manhattan, and now nearly 250 Starbucks are located therein. So all of those pumpkin potables that are purchased are funneling money directly in support of that murderous trade.

You should be properly shamed for your genocidal frappes, as WaPo has positioned things.

In a one-on-one war of words between conservative talk show host/political commentator/author Dana Loesch and disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti, my money would be on Loesch every time.

Loesch was on the Twitter machine Thursday reading CNN the riot act over media firefighters Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy suggesting that Trump criticizing NY Times columnist Bret Stephens over his bedbug insult overreaction was part of a broader Trump “war” on the press:

Loesch then noted that CNN had been waging a war of its own – against Trump and his supporters over non-issues and by way of inviting on unhinged guests:

After continuing on in a few more tweets with examples, Loesch concluded by shaming CNN for elevating Avenatti for months as a heroic ResistanceWestlake Legal Group 2122 Dana Loesch Levels Michael Avenatti in Back and Forth Over His Porn Star Lawyer Status, Mounting Legal Troubles Social Media republicans Politics North Carolina Michael Avenatti Media journalism Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story Featured Post democrats Dana Loesch Culture CNN Allow Media Exception leader when it was obvious that he was a fraudster who was exploiting Daniels to score political points with the Woke Mafia in advance of a rumored presidential bid:

Avenatti got his feelings hurt and lashed out:

Loesch clapped back that he had to have used the search terms “porn lawyer” to find her tweet, which he denied while throwing another weak jab about the NRA:

Loesch then absolutely torched Avenatti with a finishing move for the ages:

“You can go shave your back now.” SICK BURN. #Boom

His response was pathetic, but by that point Loesch was done with him and had moved on:

Poor Michael Avenatti just can’t get any respect. The world’s smallest violin is playing for you, buddy. Bless your heart.

Just a few days ago, I wrote about an absurd “fact check” done by the geniuses at Politifact on Joe Biden and his repeated claim that President Trump had never denounced white supremacists David Duke and Robert Spencer.

As I noted at the time, Biden’s claim should have been rated “pants on fire” false because Trump had done both, but it was only given a “mostly false” by Politifact because Trump had never mentioned Spencer by name and because of Trump’s comments about the Charlottesville riots (which they wrongly mischaracterized).

Unfortunately, it’s not the first time they’ve gone to bat for the Democratic presidential frontrunner this month. They also wrote about a photo that has been circulating on Facebook of Biden and the late Sen. Robert Byrd. Here’s the photo:

Thoughts?

Posted by Enlisted Nine Fight Company on Friday, August 9, 2019

After noting that the photo, taken in October 2008, was authentic, here’s what they ruled (bolded emphasis added):

The Facebook post claims that Joe Biden was photographed with Robert Byrd, Grand Wizard of the KKK. That exaggerates Byrd’s role in the KKK.

In the 1940s, Byrd organized and led a local Klan chapter as its Exalted Cyclops, but he wasn’t a Grand Wizard. And he ultimately renounced his views from that period of his life though his past and former ties to the KKK were raised throughout the rest of his life.

By the time this photo of Byrd and Biden was taken, Byrd’s public expressions of regret and shame over his earlier involvement in the KKK was well-documented and often-repeated.

We rate this Facebook post Mostly False.

What they didn’t note was that as of 2001, though Byrd was no longer a member of the KKK he was still using the “n” word.

What is true is that Democrats started the KKK. What is true is that Democrats opposed civil rights legislation for black people up until the late 1960s. What is true is that Biden considered Byrd a friend.

It doesn’t make Biden a racist, of course, but what they fact checked is whether or not Byrd was as high up in the KKK as a Grand Wizard, which is an irrelevant distinction in the scheme of things as it relates to his involvement and praise of the racist group.

It’s almost as if they were insinuating that even if Byrd were still a member of the KKK, he didn’t rise to the level of Grand Wizard, which would mean Biden’s relationship wit him was not as shocking as it might have seemed or something.

Crazy.

If there’s one thing NY Times columnist and Never Trumper Bret Stephens did right this week, it was accidentally uniting many on the left and right against his over-the-top reaction to being called a “bedbug” by George Washington University associate professor Dave Karpf. The professor tweeted out the mild insult in response to a Monday report about bedbugs being discovered in the Times’ newsroom.

If there’s one thing Squad leader and freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) accidentally did right this week in turn, it was to reaffirm her own pettiness and thin-skinned nature in response to even milder criticisms.

AOC’s involvement in the Bret Stephens drama happened on Tuesday, the day after Karpf noted that Stephens had emailed him and cc’d his university provost over the metaphorical bedbug insult. To briefly recap, here’s what Karpf tweeted that started it all and how Stephens responded:

Ocasio-Cortez weighed in by chiding Stephens for his overreaction, suggesting the insult was harmless, and insinuating that the columnist – who has argued against snowflake culture in the past – was a snowflake himself as well as a defender of “vile language”:

Two days later, AOC responded to a First Amendment group’s request that she stop blocking Twitter users over disagreement:

Conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham chimed in with a grammar correction for the Congresswoman:

Pretty tame in the scheme of things, right? Not to AOC:

Remember: Just two days before, she basically called Stephens a “vile language”-defending snowflake for overreacting to an “insignificant” bedbug insult.

    Twitter users had some thoughts:

Facts don’t care about AOC’s feelings, of course, but unfortunately AOC doesn’t care about the facts. Sigh.
