MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Shockingly Makes the Case For the Census Counting Citizens

Westlake Legal Group chris-hayes-620x317 MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Shockingly Makes the Case For the Census Counting Citizens reapportionment Politics MSNBC Media immigration Front Page Stories Featured Story electoral college democrats Citizenship Question Chris Hayes census Allow Media Exception

To the best of my knowledge and belief, no one has ever accused MSNBC’s Chris Hayes of being smart. I’m not saying that it hasn’t happened at sometime in the past but it certainly hasn’t happened recently. Yesterday, his own show released this clip of Hayes lecturing an audience on the constitutionality of the Electoral College. Here he is assuming his past persona as an adjunct professor (which is basically like being an Uber driver for unemployed pseudo-academics0.

I think there’s actually a deeper philosophical thing happening of what is American democracy is for. And the weirdest thing about the Electoral College is the fact if it wasn’t specifically in the Constitution [dramatic splayed finger gesture pointing towards the heavens] for the presidency, it would be unconstitutional.

Huh? Do you know what, if the 13th Amendment wasn’t in the Constitution, it would be unconstitutional as was the case before it was passed. What kind of faux insight is this. The sad thing is that Hayes is thinking he’s making a deep point and one must presume anyone stupid enough to want to be in Hayes’s studio audience was suitably impressed and went away muttering this nugget to themselves. I’ll probably see it on twitter a few hundred times today.

What he misses is the obvious: people don’t elect the president, states elect the president. The Electoral College was how small states, like Delaware and Connecticut, were convinced to join the union. Without it, the nation as it has existed since 1787 ceases to exist and becomes something entirely different.

Let’s move away from his jihad against the Electoral College and focus on the second part.

Here’s what I mean by that. Starting in the 1960s, 1961, specifically, the Supreme Court started developing a jurisprudence of [dramatic index finger gesture] “one person, one vote.” The idea is that each individual vote has to carry roughly the same amount of weight as each other individual vote. Which was a pretty intuitive concept but it was not a reality. There were all sorts of crazy representational systems that were created that would not give one person one vote and would disenfranchise certain minorities…you can guess which one [knowing titter from the studio audience…you are just so clever Chris].

Here’s an example. Let’s say you’ve got a city, it’s 60% black and it’s 40% white, okay. Here’s how you ensure white people stay in charge. Divide the city into four voting districts, right? But you put the entire black population in one district. Sixty percent of the people. And then each district elects one city council member. Voila. And now a city council for a majority black city is run by a majority white government.

Let’s take a look at that statement about the weight of votes. He’s right. And where, right now, do you find Americans being disenfranchised in much the same way that he uses in his city council example? Anywhere there are large numbers of illegals. Because if you live in a district that is 100% citizen your vote is literally worth half as much as a vote of someone living in a district where half the voters are illegals. That is how an illegal-heavy metropolis like Los Angeles or Dallas or Chicago or Miami can dominate state politics because their electoral power is exaggerated by having congressional districts formed based on total people, not total voters.

In other words, by counting bodies and not citizens what happens is that citizens become the black voters in Hayes’s example. They are all packed into one district. Three other districts, composed of mostly non-citizens have representatives elected with only about 13% of the total voting population. To get an idea of what that looks like nationwide, take a look at this map.

Inadvertently, Chris Hayes made the case for why the US government should count citizens and why congressional seats should be apportioned based on them.

In a one-on-one war of words between conservative talk show host/political commentator/author Dana Loesch and disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti, my money would be on Loesch every time.

Loesch was on the Twitter machine Thursday reading CNN the riot act over media firefighters Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy suggesting that Trump criticizing NY Times columnist Bret Stephens over his bedbug insult overreaction was part of a broader Trump “war” on the press:

Loesch then noted that CNN had been waging a war of its own – against Trump and his supporters over non-issues and by way of inviting on unhinged guests:

After continuing on in a few more tweets with examples, Loesch concluded by shaming CNN for elevating Avenatti for months as a heroic ResistanceWestlake Legal Group 2122 Dana Loesch Levels Michael Avenatti in Back and Forth Over His Porn Star Lawyer Status, Mounting Legal Troubles Social Media republicans Politics North Carolina Michael Avenatti Media journalism Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story Featured Post democrats Dana Loesch Culture CNN Allow Media Exception leader when it was obvious that he was a fraudster who was exploiting Daniels to score political points with the Woke Mafia in advance of a rumored presidential bid:

Avenatti got his feelings hurt and lashed out:

Loesch clapped back that he had to have used the search terms “porn lawyer” to find her tweet, which he denied while throwing another weak jab about the NRA:

Loesch then absolutely torched Avenatti with a finishing move for the ages:

“You can go shave your back now.” SICK BURN. #Boom

His response was pathetic, but by that point Loesch was done with him and had moved on:

Poor Michael Avenatti just can’t get any respect. The world’s smallest violin is playing for you, buddy. Bless your heart.

Here’s the Best Example Yet of Why Red Flag Laws Are a Terrible Idea

Westlake Legal Group street-car-night-driving-city-urban-569308-pxhere.com_-620x414 Here’s the Best Example Yet of Why Red Flag Laws Are a Terrible Idea Rights Infringed red flag laws Politics Pennsylvania NBC News media bias Guns Grenades Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story Confiscated 2nd Amendment

If you want the best example yet of why conservatives pushing red flag laws are wrong, here you go.

A man’s son called the police on him, citing he thought his father might be suicidal. Without any due process at all, the police showed up, confiscated his entire firearms collection, and hospitalized him (likely for evaluation). NBC News ran with the story, painting with their headlines the idea that he was a mass shooter in waiting. There’s absolutely no evidence of that nor does their appear to even be any evidence he was actually suicidal.

Police who were responding to a report of a suicidal man Wednesday discovered a cache of weapons which included firearms, grenades and ammunition inside the man’s home.

The 72-year-old man, who was not identified, was reported to police by his son who feared for his father’s wellbeing and told officers that there were firearms inside the home, Lieutenant Dennis Rosenbaum of the Philadelphia Police Department said Thursday.

Officers discovered what appeared to be a grenade after the man’s son asked police to remove his father’s weapons from the home, Rosenbaum said. Bomb squad experts who were called to the scene found that the grenade was inactive.

Here were some of the tweets NBC sent out.

In reality, the man was simply a collector. Many of his guns were historical pieces from world wars. The “grenades” NBC News touts in their headline were all inactive, except for one smoke grenade which is legal to own.

There’s a lot of parts to object to regarding how this went down.

The first is the media angle. Why are they even reporting this when he’s been charged with no crime? How is it newsworthy and how does it accomplish anything but smearing gun owners? If the only point is to paint a negative perception of those who have gun collections, mission accomplished I guess.

The law enforcement aspect of this is far more important though.

A single phone call and a man’s entire collection is confiscated? There was no hearing, no judge, no due process at all. The police got one call and took it upon themselves to seize everything. Now the police have the right to “deem” weapons unsafe and not return them. This seems like a pretty big violation of the 4th amendment.

Police also don’t seem very keen to give the weapons back, requiring a petition, which the man’s family don’t seem to want to do. But why is it their decision? They say they don’t want them to “wind up in the wrong hands but how would that happen? I’m trying to avoid making assumptions about their politics but the language being used here is a dead giveaway.

His family has the right to petition for the weapons, which have been put into storage. If not, or if the police deem the weapons unsafe, they will be destroyed and melted down after a certain period of time.

“I don’t think they’re going to be trying to get the weapons back,” Rosenbaum said. “I’ve talked to the family today as of an hour ago and they just don’t want them to wind up in the wrong hands. They seem to be very nice people.”

It should also be noted that Philadelphia’s police chief is an outspoken Democrat and proponent for gun control. It’s no coincidence that this happened in his jurisdiction.

There’s a not insignificant number of conservatives, led by National Review’s David French, that think red flag laws on a national level are a great idea and have been pushing them in the wake of the most recent mass shootings. They are an awful idea and no one that respect constitutional governance should be promoting them.

I get the temptation. Conservatives want to imagine police as non-political entities who will always do the right thing but they aren’t. In many parts of the country, the leadership of police departments are just as liberal as the local mayors and city councils. They can not be trusted to not allow politics to encroach on decisions of confiscation.

Even if this man was truly suicidal (again, there’s no evidence of that yet), the police had no right to go in and take his weapons out of his house. At best, they should have detained the man, got him an evaluation, and allowed him a chance to plead his case. Now that they’ve taken the weapons into their possession, he’ll never see them again. This is not how things are supposed to work in this country and shame on some conservatives for pushing this garbage.

Absolutely Insane Brawl Breaks Out Near a California High School Involving Over 100 People

What in the world kind of chaotic insanity is going on in California?

On Thursday, at least 100 young people got into a gigantic fight near Stockton’s Stagg High School.

It was madness the likes of which you may never have seen before.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene.

What the heck happened??

CBS Sacramento described the “wild scene,” which occurred around 12:30 and “spilled off-campus.”

Both guys and girls appeared to be running around like hooligans, with some of the fights nearing moving cars.

A woman named Theresa Saunders caught video of the wacko battle royal.

She said of the blowup:

“This one went from boom, boom, boom, boom, all these different fights. It’s like, what happened in school? Was it a day to get revenge for each other?”

Stagg High parent Marquita Miles was flabbergasted:

“I just don’t understand the kids nowadays, it’s like they just fighting. They should all get along. I’m hearing too much violence out here.”

On Thursday evening, Stockton Unified School District sent an email to parents informing them of the brawl and its related “ongoing investigation.”

“As with all matters of student safety,” district spokesperson Shelly Spessard assured in a statement, “we have taken this very seriously and have and will act accordingly. Safety and security is a top priority in Stockton Unified.”

At least one person was arrested.

Check out the video for a showcase of total lunacy.

Just a few days ago, I wrote about an absurd “fact check” done by the geniuses at Politifact on Joe Biden and his repeated claim that President Trump had never denounced white supremacists David Duke and Robert Spencer.

As I noted at the time, Biden’s claim should have been rated “pants on fire” false because Trump had done both, but it was only given a “mostly false” by Politifact because Trump had never mentioned Spencer by name and because of Trump’s comments about the Charlottesville riots (which they wrongly mischaracterized).

Unfortunately, it’s not the first time they’ve gone to bat for the Democratic presidential frontrunner this month. They also wrote about a photo that has been circulating on Facebook of Biden and the late Sen. Robert Byrd. Here’s the photo:

Thoughts?

Posted by Enlisted Nine Fight Company on Friday, August 9, 2019

After noting that the photo, taken in October 2008, was authentic, here’s what they ruled (bolded emphasis added):

The Facebook post claims that Joe Biden was photographed with Robert Byrd, Grand Wizard of the KKK. That exaggerates Byrd’s role in the KKK.

In the 1940s, Byrd organized and led a local Klan chapter as its Exalted Cyclops, but he wasn’t a Grand Wizard. And he ultimately renounced his views from that period of his life though his past and former ties to the KKK were raised throughout the rest of his life.

By the time this photo of Byrd and Biden was taken, Byrd’s public expressions of regret and shame over his earlier involvement in the KKK was well-documented and often-repeated.

We rate this Facebook post Mostly False.

What they didn’t note was that as of 2001, though Byrd was no longer a member of the KKK he was still using the “n” word.

What is true is that Democrats started the KKK. What is true is that Democrats opposed civil rights legislation for black people up until the late 1960s. What is true is that Biden considered Byrd a friend.

It doesn’t make Biden a racist, of course, but what they fact checked is whether or not Byrd was as high up in the KKK as a Grand Wizard, which is an irrelevant distinction in the scheme of things as it relates to his involvement and praise of the racist group.

It’s almost as if they were insinuating that even if Byrd were still a member of the KKK, he didn’t rise to the level of Grand Wizard, which would mean Biden’s relationship wit him was not as shocking as it might have seemed or something.

Crazy.

The “Existential” Reelection of President Trump

The Leftist media is full of dire warnings about another potential four years of a Trump presidency.  It was a surprise (of sorts) when Trump won the presidency in 2016.  This writer had no intention of following the returns assuming a Clinton victory.  It was about 1:00 am when a liberal friend texted me: “What the hell is happening?”  I then checked the returns and thought, “Holy s@!%!!! Trump is going to win.”

Part of the surprise was that 2016 was unlike any campaign I had experienced and watched.  From the first of several Republican debates which were amusing and strange on many levels (people comparing hand size?) to the debates between Trump and Clinton, it was a surreal political experience.  After he won, there were dire predictions all around.  The mood of the non-Trump supporter was clearly one of grief.

However, unlike the dopes on the Left and the bigger dopes in the NeverTrump movement, this writer did not experience any grief over Trump’s election victory.  Instead, it was  “give him a chance and wait and see.”  Unlike others, there was no grief or anger.  But within three days of his election, the grief had turned into anger.  While the Democrat Party institution did the soul-searching aspect of the five stages of grief- “bargaining-” it was superficial.  The “what if” and “if only” scenarios boiled down to one distinct truism (which many still deny): Hillary Clinton was an unlikeable candidate who ran a horrible campaign by neglecting key Upper Midwestern states (Michigan and Wisconsin) and Pennsylvania.

To read the Leftist media (and mainstream, but they are very often the same), they appear to be in the depression stage of grief.  A recent article in the New Republic stated that surveys by the American Psychiatric Society “…have found a marked increase in stress and anxiety among respondents with regard to the future in recent years…”  That article cited another poll indicating that respondents said 2017 was the lowest point in living American history.  They even linked to an article arguing that Trump’s election led to an increase of stress-related premature births.  Good grief!

Since a day after Trump’s election in 2016, we have been bombarded with nothing but negativity regarding the duly elected President.  The better half of his term was a plethora of smoking gun accusations about Russian collusion that turned out to be duds.  They were such duds that even their anointed saint, Robert Mueller, said there was no collusion, conspiracy, or coordination with Russians.  Of course, that has not stopped Jerrold Nadler and House Democrats from engaging in what amounts to harassment in the name of “oversight.”

A woman gets killed in Charlottesville by a whack job who deserves the death penalty: Trump’s fault.  A mass shooting in El Paso: Trump’s fault.  The stock market declines 800 points: Trump’s fault.  Never before have so many unrelated events that any president has absolutely no control over been attributed to Trump.  NOAA recently announced that the current summer (which is not over yet) has been the hottest on record.  One supposes that it all Trump’s fault.

Today we have candidates on the Democrat campaign trail talking about 2020 being an election of extreme importance.  It is, they claim, an election for the soul of the country.  Take all those dire warnings and predictions the talking head pundits claimed would happen to start back in December 2016, put them in a blender, add some steroids and you will understand what they are talking about when it comes to 2020.

Meanwhile, many Americans living in the real world, it is life as usual- political and otherwise.  Trump has not ordered the military to surround the Capitol Building and dissolve Congress.  Crazies like The Squad will likely be voted back into Congress come 2020.  Despite depictions to the contrary, roving bands of brown-shirted white supremacists are not systematically taking out “people of color” and being egged on by Trump.  The earth is not going to implode in 11 years and counting if Trump is reelected.  NATO is no nearer to dissolution than it was ten years ago.

It would be an understatement to state that the Democrats are wary of Trump’s reelection.  They will ramp up the rhetoric and trot out every anecdotal sob story to prove a point.  The one thing they will also do is resort to one of two things as “policy suggestions.”  The first is that they will be radical in their approaches best exemplified by “free” everything from birth to death.  Eventually, they will run into the reality that nothing is truly free without great sacrifice.  When people realize they are losing more of their net pay in exchange for substandard health care, reality will set in.  When people realize they are paying more to heat their homes in the winter, their utility bill will be a new reality.  And the list goes on.  This is the attitude of hardcore socialists like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris.

Then we have the second option: return to failed policies with suggested tweaks.  These are the candidates often described as “moderates” and exemplified by people like Joe Biden.  The mere fact that he is the front runner should be a warning to Democrats that the hard-core socialists have no chance against Trump in 2020 when it gets down to brass tacks.  That is why despite his gaffes and memory lapses on the campaign trail, he still leads in polls among Democrats.  For them, it is another “hold your nose vote for Biden” scenario.

The election of 2020 is not existential.  One NBC pundit claimed that a recession is necessary to save the Constitution from another four years of Trump.  But what exactly has Trump done to offend the Constitution?  Which of the many court decrees did the Trump administration defy (which frustrates many of us on the Right)?  Are they referring to ICE agents actually doing their jobs?  What they really complain about is Trump not adopting their agenda and thankfully so.

From day 1, Trump was never given the benefit of the doubt.  The first few months were greeted by weekly marches and protests in the streets of Washington.  Every utterance has been parsed, taken out of context and distorted to fit a preferred narrative.  When Trump, for example, speaks out against racism, it is either not good enough or fluffed off as “too little too late,” or “he really doesn’t mean it.”

To the extent that this is an existential election as the Democrats claim, they may just be projecting their own feelings onto America at large.  They- not the country- are fearful of another four years of Trump because he is not your typical run-of-the-mill politician.  He has a job to return to.  Harris, Warren, and Sanders have the Senate, but what does Biden have to return to other than the lecture circuit?  If Trump wins in 2020, he does not have to worry about 2024 (although Democrats will tell you Trump will rewrite the Constitution all by himself allowing a third term).  Everything they feared in 2016 will be amplified in 2021.

Making America great (again) is not a 4-year task, especially after eight years of Obama who managed to bow before Saudi kings, sell-out Israel with the Iran nuclear accords, kick the “China problem” down the road with rhetoric, and disrupt the healthcare market with Obamacare.  That is the America even the so-called “moderate Democrats”  wish for.  Without the worry of a reelection campaign, perhaps then Trump will tell liberal courts to pound sand.  Perhaps then he will push even further on a conservative agenda, although he has done a fairly good job thus far regarding the pro-life movement, deregulation and immigration enforcement despite the legal warfare being waged on the Left.  Another four years of Trump neutering the Left in rhetoric and in the courts is what they most fear.  All the fears, worries and existential angst lies in the small minds of Democrats and the Left at large.

If there’s one thing NY Times columnist and Never Trumper Bret Stephens did right this week, it was accidentally uniting many on the left and right against his over-the-top reaction to being called a “bedbug” by George Washington University associate professor Dave Karpf. The professor tweeted out the mild insult in response to a Monday report about bedbugs being discovered in the Times’ newsroom.

If there’s one thing Squad leader and freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) accidentally did right this week in turn, it was to reaffirm her own pettiness and thin-skinned nature in response to even milder criticisms.

AOC’s involvement in the Bret Stephens drama happened on Tuesday, the day after Karpf noted that Stephens had emailed him and cc’d his university provost over the metaphorical bedbug insult. To briefly recap, here’s what Karpf tweeted that started it all and how Stephens responded:

Ocasio-Cortez weighed in by chiding Stephens for his overreaction, suggesting the insult was harmless, and insinuating that the columnist – who has argued against snowflake culture in the past – was a snowflake himself as well as a defender of “vile language”:

Two days later, AOC responded to a First Amendment group’s request that she stop blocking Twitter users over disagreement:

Conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham chimed in with a grammar correction for the Congresswoman:

Pretty tame in the scheme of things, right? Not to AOC:

Remember: Just two days before, she basically called Stephens a “vile language”-defending snowflake for overreacting to an “insignificant” bedbug insult.

    Twitter users had some thoughts:

Facts don’t care about AOC’s feelings, of course, but unfortunately AOC doesn’t care about the facts. Sigh.

There is more fallout from President Obama’s politicization of our Military. In a two part series, The Daily Caller adapted excerpts from decorated veteran, James Hasson’s new book, “Stand Down: How Social Justice Warriors Are Sabotaging America’s Military.”

    Part One
    Part Two

These excerpts clearly show quite clearly how the standards in the U.S. Army’s premiere combat leadership course, Ranger School were subverted. This was the result of a desire bony senior leaders to force females through the course, in order to achieve the goal of “proving” women were “just as good as men” at close combat.

If you recall, 3 years ago this month, the Army graduated its first two females from Ranger School, followed shortly by a third. At the time there were a myriad of rumors floating around about standards being lowered and the women being given preferential treatment. Based on these excerpts, it looks like the rumors were true. I had heard some of this 3rd hand. However, the only direct evidence I could come up with was a text message “interview” with one of the first graduates as part of my own investigation. In that exchange, she admitted to having been recycled (made to start over) 3 times. This is usually only done because of injury. This officer had been recycled multiple times for failing patrols. The officer was quite candid and I admit a certain respect for anyone who would make 4 back-to-back attempts to get through the course. I squeaked through on my first try…Thank God.

What I was lacking, was evidence of command pressure, which Hansen provides in his book as the excerpts in the article demonstrate. Hanson also provides an actual copy of Instructor Comments and extracts of text messages going back and forth after one candidate who clearly should have failed a patrol, got a passing grade for “motivation.” The second article and its extracts, show clearly how the chain of command refused to admit command influence through out this investigation and in some cases, may have destroyed evidence requested by Congressional Representatives.

There are so many things wrong with this:

First of all, is the degradation of the institution. At the lowest level, it diminishes the value of a Ranger Tab. When Soldiers see the “highly coveted Black and Gold,” on their leaders’ left shoulder, they know he has been through the fire and earned it. That no longer obtains. They know the Army has allowed unqualified officers and now enlisted folks to make it through…all on the altar of political correctness.

Second, is the money. It costs a small fortune to produce a Ranger School graduate who graduates on his first try. Think about the opportunity cost that recycling women multiple times produces. Each of these three initial graduates were recycled 3 times. That’s 9 slots that could have been filled by qualified men—and that’s not even counting the expense of running them through a special preparatory course to identify the less than 20 out of a more than 150 who qualify to even give it a try.

Third, is the fundamentally dishonest reasoning for this charade. This whole debacle has been promoted from the viewpoint and desires of the women—and the women make no bones about it. The whole issue is about promotion opportunities, which of course are more numerous in the combat fields. After all, that’s what the military is for, to kill people and break things…not to morally preen about promotion opportunities for women. Which is truly sad because…

Fourth, not only do Senior Leaders refuse to admit to #3 above, but not one, NOT ONE! Flag Officer or Senior Civilian has even attempted to make the case as to how including women in Special Operations Forces and Close Combat units, enhances the military’s, Lethality, Cost Effectiveness, Sustainability (which means something different than the tree huggers say) Combat Effectiveness, Survivability and a host of other metrics by which we measure the effectiveness of our Armed Forces. The closest to any sort of explanation was by a 4-Star General who told me that we needed to put women through Ranger School and the Special Forces Qualification “Q” Course for two reasons: One, to train the females who interact with Muslim women and Two, to generate the same capability we had during World War II with female OSS operatives.

My answer to that? We did just fine in World Wars I & II, fighting in North Africa, without spending millions to train American females to grope Arab women. As far as women in the OSS, we already have a system to get that capability. It’s called, “The Farm.” There is absolutely no need to totally upend a well functioning system merely to make a political statement.

Finally, there’s the elephant in the room that no one dares point out. Close combat is men’s work. Women in general, are not suited to this type of thing. It requires upper body strength, endurance and aggressiveness…all male attributes. Can certain females, through brute force efforts, be trained to a point where they can compete marginally with the bottom quartile of qualified men? Of course. But that isn’t the point.

It makes no sense to do as the Army did, selecting 150 or so of the “best” women, then putting them through an extensive and expensive preparatory course just, to get them where they could meet the bare minimum standards merely to enter Ranger School. Only 19 of those selectees were able to satisfactorily complete prep course and actually enter a Ranger Class. Of those 19, not one graduated the first time through, nor the second, Eventually, after multiple “recycles” and at the behest of the Commanding General at Ft Benning, the Ranger Training Regiment was able to brute force 3 women through the course and on to graduation. What are we getting for all of that? Nothing more than some sort of bragging rights? Another “glass ceiling” broken? Promotion opportunities?

Then there is the bio-socio part of this. Infantry squads and platoons are male centric—they are locker rooms if you will, fueled by testosterone and aggression. They need to be. Close quarters combat isn’t a cerebral exercise where you get points for “trying hard.” Ultimately it means jumping down into an enemy position and sticking a bayonet in his throat. It means as so aptly portrayed in the stairway scene in “Saving Private Ryan,” a brutal, physical fight to the death over a bayonet…the loser dying alone.

For any of you readers out there who wish to believe former President Obama’s absurd statement about bayonets and horses no longer being used, should consult the U.S. Marines who had to retake Fallujah at bayonet point, or the Special Forces Soldiers who took Afghanistan, calling in airstrikes from horseback. No matter how much technology we have, we only end up the victor when U.S Infantrymen stand on our enemy’s territory and force him to surrender…at bayonet point.

Close Combat also involves conquering fear. A big part of conquering that fear, is being part of a male bonded team, a locker room as it were…a place where warriors get pumped up before a big fight…A place where (gasp!) profanity abounds. Combat Arms Squads, Platoons and Companies are close knit organizations. Introducing females into all male these units always degrades morale and teamwork. The Marines did a study on this. All male units consistently out did their all female and mixed sex (yes, it’s “sex” not “gender”) counterparts.

I’m glad Mr Hansen published his book and the Daily Caller, those two sets of excerpts. Take the time to read them.

Joe Walsh Lies About Being Scammed By Sacha Baron Cohen, Cohen Humiliates Him With the Video

(AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster, File)

I’m only writing about Joe Walsh because at some point the NeverTrump folks who insisted that voting for Hillary Clinton was morally superior to voting for Donald Trump are going to insist that we all have a similar moral obligation to vote for Joe Walsh…this would be Joe Walsh the failed talk radio guy, not Joe Walsh the former member of the Eagles. Why will they do it? Because NeverTrump is now and always has been a grift. It’s a ticket to getting invited on CNN and MSNBC and other outlets. And if there’s a grift involved you’re going to find Bill Kristol and his buddies. The groundwork is already being laid:

Only a year ago, Walsh was a guest on Sacha Baron Cohen’s Showtime show “Who’s America.” I’m not a huge connoisseur of Cohen’s bullsh**, I mean, body of work, so forgive me if I get some of the specifics wrong. This is how it is described on the blog Slashfilm:

Sacha Baron Cohen turned plenty of heads with his Showtime series Who Is America?, where he put himself under heavy make-up to become various characters who interviewed politicians, pundits and everyday American citizens, ultimately embarrassing them or making them severely uncomfortable, and showing the ugliest side of their instinctual proclivities and behavior.

The salient point here is that Cohen is disguised and his marks guests don’t know who he is and they don’t know they are being set up.

On the first show, Cohen is in character as Erran Morad, an Israeli anti-terrorism expert. He has a pet project: arming schoolchildren, down to kindergarten, to take on school shooters. Allegedly this program existed in Israel under the name “Kinderguardians.” He wants to export the program to the US and enlists the assistance of Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, Larry Pratt, former director emeritus of Gun Owners of America, Florida Republican Matt Gaetz, Trent Lott, Dana Rohrabacher, Joe Wilson, and Joe Walsh in making a video promoting the program. All go along with him except Matt Gaetz.

The Washington Post asked him about this episode of insanity:

WALSH: That was in the middle of about 45 minutes, an hour worth of talking, and this was 30 seconds. And to your question, it was specifically about a program that Israel does.

Q: And there was no indication that you were talking about something that was going to be imported to the United States?

    WALSH: Oh, God no.

In response, Cohen released an extended take of the scene. You really have to see this and if you are a NeverTrumper, this is the man-god you want us to support:

“I endorse the Kinderguardians program for all schools in America,” Walsh says in the video. “When armed guards and armed teachers have, God forbid, been taken out, why should children be left with absolutely no means of defending themselves?”

He continued: “Never has an American generation been more equipped with the necessary hand-eye coordination to shoot. If a child can pull the trigger of a video game controller or a Nerf gun, he can pull the trigger of an Uzi. It’s obvious.”

The additional footage shows Walsh going even further. He talks about arming toddlers, which is generally understood to be children who can walk and are between the ages of 1 and 3.

“Toddlers do not understand the consequences of their actions, meaning that, again, saving vital time, they will kill without hesitation, then kill again until all the bad guys are gone,” Walsh said. “You know what? It’s pretty straightforward. When it comes to the safety of our children, the way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good child with a gun. Happy shooting, kids.”

The point isn’t that Walsh lied. The point is that he lied about something when he knew that the evidence of his lie was out there and in the hands of someone who hates the GOP. This isn’t mere dishonesty. This is lie told by a profoundly stupid man. A man so stupid that he though Cohen or his production team would never see an interview about Cohen’s series in an obscure paper called the Washington Post when he is allegedly running for president.

This more than anything shows that Walsh’s campaign is nothing more than a grift to use campaign contributions to support his lifestyle (don’t tell me that he can’t do that because it is illegal because Walsh has a track record of doing just that) until he gets beaten like a rented mule in the primaries.

Great News: Hillary Clinton’s Story – Which Proved Women in Politics Have a Glass Ceiling – is Coming to Netflix

Good news, Netflix fans: Hillary Clinton’s coming to a television near you.

Or, at least, her inspiration is.

As relayed by The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming service is set to produce a series based on the former First Lady’s failed run for Oval Office glory.

After a bidding war, the ‘Flix is proud owner of the rights to Amy Chozick’s novel, Chasing HIllary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns and One Intact Glass Ceiling.

Of course, in order for Hillary’s failure to have been an objective indication of a glass ceiling, Bill Clinton’s wife would had to’ve been, factually speaking, the very best female candidate who could ever exist.

I daresay there are more than a few who might argue she missed the acquisition of such status by more than a smidge.

On the other side is — of course — that possibility of her being, in fact, a horrible candidate that more than a hundred million Americans didn’t want at the helm.

Netflix may be moreso going with the other idea.

But the show won’t actually be about Hillary:

Unlike the book, the series will chronicle four female journalists who follow the every move of a parade of flawed presidential candidates, finding friendship, love and a scandal that could take down not just the presidency but our entire democracy along the way. Sources say that while the series is inspired by Chasing Hillary, the Netflix offering is not about Hillary Clinton or the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

As noted by The Daily Wire, in 2018, New York Magazine expected the book to make all kinds of people mad:

Chozick spent a decade of her life — from her late 20s to late 30s — covering Hillary Clinton, first for The Wall Street Journal during the 2008 election and then for The New York Times for 2016. Now she’s written a memoir about the period, Chasing Hillary — a sort-of Bridget Jones’s Diary meets What it Takes coming-of-age rom-com set on the campaign trail, with a tragic twist at the end (spoiler alert: Clinton lost). “I’m sure it’s going to piss off [both sides],” Chozick says. “I’m bracing for that.”

Will the program do the same? It remains to be seen.

Regardless, one thing’s certain about presidential loss: When you’re a candidate who not enough people in enough places like, you’re not going to win. That’s not a ceiling of glass; it’s one of stone — a stone called “democratic vote.”
