Clint Eastwood Defies Film Boycott Of Georgia (Because Of Course He Does)

In a brain twisting bit of irony, Hollywood icon and legend Clint Eastwood will defy other Hollywood actors’ (but let’s face it, none that even approach his stature in talent or reputation) attempted boycott of Georgia over recent pro-life legislation the state passed to make a film that will likely portray pro-lifers as less than sympathetic.

I know. Wrap your head around it.

Eastwood, a filmmaker known for authenticity in his work, frankly had no better option than Georgia to make his film since its subject matter deals with the media frenzy accompanying the 1996 Olympic games bombing in Atlanta; a frenzy that helped point the finger at the wrong man, security guard Richard Jewell.

(Although I like to think Eastwood would have chosen Georgia for his film anyway because he shoots where he damn well wants to shoot. *spits tobacco*)

Clint Eastwood’s next film “Richard Jewell” is listed among the Georgia Film Commission’s projects set to shoot in the state this summer — despite the calls for a boycott of production in Georgia over the state’s new anti-abortion “heartbeat” law.

Previously titled “The Ballad of Richard Jewell,” the film tells the true story of a security guard who was falsely accused in the bombing that took place at Atlanta’s Centennial Park during the 1996 Summer Olympics. Paul Walter Hauser plays Jewell alongside a cast that includes Sam Rockwell, Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde and Kathy Bates.

That cast is a little interesting as more than one of them have been known to speak out about political and policy issues on their respective social media accounts (ahem, *cough* Rockwell and Wilde).

But the actors aren’t alone. The Wrap notes Warner Bros., which will be releasing Eastwood’s film, is under the umbrella of WarnerMedia, who said in May they were watching (Big Brother-style I guess) the state and the movement of the Heartbeat Bill legislation and would “reconsider” filming in Georgia if law takes effect next year.

We’ll give you a minute to roll your eyes.

“We operate and produce work in many states and within several countries at any given time and while that doesn’t mean we agree with every position taken by a state or country and their leaders, we do respect due process,” the company said in a statement. “We will watch the situation closely and if the new law holds we will reconsider Georgia as the home to any new productions. As is always the case, we will work closely with our production partners and talent to determine how and where to shoot any given project.”

My, how bravely non-committal.

There’s a lesson here for Hollywood types: hang with the Eastwoods, not the Milanos. You won’t have to make statements you have no intention of living up to or take stances you’ll have to walk back later because Eastwoods don’t bully and they don’t deal in intimidations and threats. They just get the job done.

And they don’t feel compelled to explain themselves to the Milanos of the world.

Liberal Tears Flow After Fraudster Michael Avenatti Calls a Senator a “Fraud” and Demands Ben Shapiro Debate Him

Liberal icon and media hero (but I repeat myself) Michael Avenatti is having a no good, very bad, horrible week.

On Monday, porn star Stormy Daniels’s former lawyer weighed in on Twitter about the upcoming Maine Senate race between incumbent Sen. Susan Collins (R) and her newly-announced Democratic challenger Sara Gideon (D). Here’s what the disgraced lawyer had to say:

Gideon has tweeted out a list of endorsements she has received so far, but for some strange reason Avenatti’s endorsement is not noted on the list.

In any event, after Avenatti called Collins a “fraud” – presumably over her vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court – NRSC adviser Matt Whitlock slid into the comments section of the tweet to point out the pot, kettle, black nature of Avenatti’s accusation (via Twitchy):

Whitlock, in fact, absolutely roasted Avenatti over and over again:

Unfortunately for Avenatti (but fortunately for us), things only got worse for him the next day.

On Tuesday afternoon, he tweeted this question about “The View”‘s Meghan McCain after she pushed back on AOC’s absurd claim that border detention facilities are like Nazi concentration camps:

As you can imagine, it did not go well. Avenatti took particular issue with Ben Shapiro’s criticism, and challenged him to a debate:

The responses were hilarious:

As Hot Air‘s John Sexton documented here, the two went back and forth for a bit afterwards but it’s not clear whether or not an actual debate will take place.

My personal view is that Shapiro should not waste his valuable time. For reasons Whitlock outlined and more, Avenatti is not worth it. He’s a dishonest blowhard, an exploiter of women, and a fraud who will say and do anything for attention, fame, and money – even and especially at the expense of the truth.

Here’s How Roy Moore Is Polling in the Alabama GOP Senate Primary

Roy Moore is back. He’s declared himself a candidate for the 2020 Republican Senate primary in Alabama for reasons only known to himself.

Moore was, of course, savaged in 2017 after forty-year-old allegations that he dated underage girls surfaced. Most of the allegations were more creepy than illegal (i.e. it’s not illegal for a 30-year-old to date a 17-year-old) but one involving a 14-year-old ended up being the biggest factor in his downfall. There was a later accusation of sexual assault that appeared at the behest of grifter lawyer Gloria Allred, but that one was best left out of the equation.

With Moore back on the scene, some conservatives lashed out at him for putting a solidly red seat in jeopardy once again. Those included the President’s son.

Now, we’ve got our first polling of the primary race and here’s how Moore is faring.

Moore is clocking in a distant 3rd with coaching legend Tommy Tuberville at the top. Needless to say, if Tuberville gets the nomination, he’s going to walk away from Doug Jones and win.

Bradly Byrne, a current Congressional Representative, will probably get a lot of establishment support. Arnold Mooney is currently a fringe candidate but has picked up some high profile endorsements from people like Mark Levin. The key here is that Mitch McConnell needs to not try to pick a winner by destroying other viable, conservative candidates. Stay out of it and you won’t end up with a Strange vs. Moore scenario again.

Here’s my opinion on this. Roy Moore is a clownish figure who constantly steps on his own feet and he has no business being the nominee at this point. While he may have done some good things as a judge in past decades, this Senate seat is not about him and he’s not entitled to it. The point is to win the election, not to make sure Roy Moore is given a chance at vengeance.

Alabama will have to decide for themselves, but with a tough Senate map in 2020, every seat counts. That means losing a Republican seat in deep red Alabama is simply not an option. For the moment, it looks like Alabama voters aren’t game for a do-over with Roy Moore and that’s probably a smart decision.

The next two days will be yuge for the 20+ Democrats who are running for president as the first round of pre-primary debates will be held tonight and tomorrow night in Miami.

Red State‘s Bonchie wrote earlier this week about how Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made it clear that votes on proposed legislation would not be delayed in spite of the fact that several Senators will be on the presidential debate stage. Per The Hill:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday dismissed a call by Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) to delay passage of a mammoth defense bill until after the Democratic presidential debates so the entire chamber can vote on an Iran amendment.

McConnell, speaking from the Senate floor, brushed off the request from Schumer, saying Democrats missing the votes in order to take part in the Democratic presidential debates were prioritizing trying to win “the favor of the resistance.”

“I was incredulous to hear the Democratic leader call yesterday to postpone moving forward with the NDAA,” McConnell said, referring to the National Defense Authorization Act. “Apparently some of our Democratic friends need to go hit the presidential campaign trail. They can’t be here because they have to go campaign.”

As Bonchie noted in his post, McConnell’s decision to not delay votes was not just about needling the presidential candidates who were also members of the Senate but also because, you know, actual work needed to get done:

While Cocaine Mitch probably had sticking it to these do-nothing Democrats in the back of his mind, the truth is that remaining in session is absolutely crucial right now. They were already scheduled to be off the first week of July. While most of us get a single day off (and some no day off), Congress gets the entire week for some reason.

That means that there’s no way to take Thursday and Friday off, as working on immigration issues is vital right now. Trump agreed to a two-week delay in a major ICE deportation operation after Pelosi requested it. While a deal is unlikely, you can’t make an attempt at one if you take that entire two weeks off.

For good measure, though, the MccConnell campaign wished the candidates good luck and tweaked them with some pre-debate prep of their own:

As I’ve said before, Cocaine Mitch’s troll game is strong…

Bernie Sanders Is Making One of My Worst Nightmares Come True, and It’s Not About His Socialism

Westlake Legal Group game-1232879_1920-620x331 Bernie Sanders Is Making One of My Worst Nightmares Come True, and It’s Not About His Socialism Video Games Twitch Politics Gaming Front Page Stories Featured Story escapism democrats Bernie Sanders Allow Media Exception

I’m a stickler for politics staying out of my escapism, and one of my fears is that one day, politicians will discover the inherent power of the video game industry and begin to insert themselves into the gaming culture. While the gaming community has had no shortage of political battles — GamerGate being its most high-profile political occurrence  — politicians have blessedly been content to overlook gaming.

Now that very well may change, and we all have democratic socialist and 2020 hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders to thank for it.

According to PC Gamer, Sanders has started an account on Twitch, a popular platform gamers use to live stream themselves playing games to the world. He’s apparently not going to be playing games, at least not yet, but he is going to use it spout his socialistic nonsense:

Instead, as Recode reports, the Sanders campaign plans on using Twitch alongside Facebook and YouTube to stream up-to-the-moment live videos in which Sanders and his staff discuss his presidential campaign and issues of the day. The channels will kick off tomorrow in the leadup to the first round of Democratic candidate debates, with commentary before and after the debates.

After that the campaign plans on producing regular live shows, said Josh Miller-Lewis, who runs the digital communications arm of Sanders’ campaign.

“We’re moving toward doing a lot more live content on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook, tapping into an audience where there’s not a lot of political content already,” Miller-Lewis told Recode.

“Well, he’s not going to game on it so what’s the problem?” you ask.

The problem is that Sanders is opening a door that we won’t be able to close once he gets his foot in it. Let’s say he starts streaming on Twitch and realizes that the gaming community is a lot larger than he thought. He starts playing video games on there just to pander. Soon other politicians will take notice after Sanders brings in headlines and, possibly, an approval bump.

Soon, other politicians will start migrating to Twitch in order to take advantage of the blue whale that is the gaming community. and what was typically a pastime used to get away from politicians and the news becomes just another place for it. It’s one more place we can’t go to escape the noise.

And that’s not even considering what may happen if developers and publishers want to start trying to take advantage of the media attention by partnering with politicians. Perhaps they even start showing up at conventions and shows like E3 or RTX.

I always operated under the assumption that politicians finally looking at the gaming industry as a potential source of votes and not just a community to blame for atrocities was inevitable, but I was hoping I’d at least get a few more years in before it all went to the dogs.

Who knows. Maybe we’ll get lucky and the gaming community will reject the idea of politicians stepping into the gaming realm. If that happens I’ll know we’re not in the darkest timeline. Until then, this is just a sad day.

GoFundMe Partnership With Planned Parenthood Proves Abortion Doesn’t Need Government Funding

Westlake Legal Group abortion-on-demand-without-apology GoFundMe Partnership With Planned Parenthood Proves Abortion Doesn’t Need Government Funding Pro-Life Politics planned parenthood gofundme Front Page Stories Featured Story Allow Media Exception aclu abortion funding Abortion

With the abortion industry taking some heavy blows in the face of pro-life legislation and states turning on abortion organizations with gusto, celebrities, activists, and politicians have been pulling out all the stops to keep the practice of taking life in the womb alive and well.

This also includes various businesses, with the fundraising site “GoFundMe” throwing its hat into the ring, and directly partnering with Planned Parenthood to raise funds in order to fight back against pro-life causes.

GoFundMe sent out a tweet from their account telling everyone that they have partnered with Planned Parenthood, the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Network of Abortion Funds to donate money to organizations that will fight to keep abortion alive in states where it’s being restricted.

The fundraiser, titled “Fight Back: Protect Abortion Access,” centers on the idea that the attack on abortion by various states isn’t just a threat to abortion in those states, but everywhere across America, and that people should give to the fundraiser if they wish to keep it alive:

We’re teaming up to fuel the fight against these bans – and make sure that every person who needs abortion care can actually get it, without delay.

The ‘Fight Back’ campaign is a centralized fundraiser enabling each donor to fund legal battles in court, provide critical services all across the country, join the movement to protect access to safe, legal abortion, and encourage legislative bodies to take steps to protect reproductive rights  — all with a single donation.

The fundraiser promises to do three things with the money:

-Remove the many financial and logistical barriers to abortion access – including offsetting the cost of transportation, childcare, lodging, and abortion procedures – that too many patients face;

-Fuel the fight in the courts to protect access for EVERY patient, and keep health center doors open for patients who need care; and,

-Help continue on-the-ground organizing in states to protect access, build the movement, and ensure elected officials everywhere support comprehensive reproductive health care.

It also notes that 25 percent will be going to the NNAF, 37.5 percent to Planned Parenthood organizations, and 37.5 percent to the ACLU.

I want to point out something that all of these organizations may have overlooked, and that’s the fact that they’re proving that organizations like Planned Parenthood don’t need government funding. It can raise funds for the practice all on its own.

At this time, Planned Parenthood receives approximately $500 million a year, with taxpayers footing the bill. This does not include the various donations they receive from celebrity-backed donation drives or fundraising efforts like the kind we see above.

Hilariously, the abortion industry’s attempts at fundraising may not be as popular as it had hoped. At the time of this writing, the fundraiser has been live for six days and has only received over $40,000 worth donations from 306 people. Compared to the swiftness with which some GoFundMe campaigns receive donations. For comparison, the GoFundMe for the border wall is 616 times that amount with well over $24 million in donations that are still rolling in by the minute. This is pretty sad for Planned Parenthood.

I will make note that the wall fundraiser has been active for six months, not six days, but the difference is still very striking. It would appear that abortion isn’t as popular as some of these groups may have hoped.

What’s more, the announcement on Twitter didn’t seem to go as well as they hoped, with Twitter users expressing anger at the company for partnering with abortion causes, and some swearing they’ll never participate in a GoFundMe campaign again.

AOC and the Fresh Face Caucus Vote Against Aid for the Border After Grandstanding About It

This is how you know you Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley aren’t serious about their constant emotional appeals regarding the border. The “fresh faces” of the Democratic party are all about making Twitter rants and posing for glamour shots, but when it comes to actually helping solve the problem, they are there to work against those trying to fix the situation.

The aforementioned four were the only Democrats to vote against the Border Security funding bill that passed the House yesterday.

To be clear, this is not comparable to other votes against relief packages by Republicans and Democrats in the past. In those cases, and I’m struggling to find any examples otherwise, the bills themselves were laced with unrelated poison pills leading to protest votes.

In the case of this border funding package, there was no poison pill. In fact, it’s largely a cave by Republicans in terms of priorities and doesn’t even increase bed counts for CBP. The bill itself is only $4.5B and there are no unrelated amendments tacked on to make it untenable for a Democrat to vote for.

Even still, the fresh face caucus voted against it. Why?

Good luck getting an answer to that because the media won’t dare ask them, but it’s not hard to figure out. These people do not want a solution to what’s going on at the border. It gives them a political issue to bat around. When the cameras are on, they feign outrage and proclaim a humanitarian crisis. Then they go cry about Wayfair providing beds for children’s facilities and block funding for basic necessities.

Everyone knows you can’t just let people cross the border unchecked. How is letting unaccompanied minors wander the streets humane, for example? Reality dictates they must be detained and found safe situations to be sent to. Yet, these four Congressional members are calling for a total closing of the facilities housing them. What’s their actual plan? They don’t have one except to grandstand and post tone-deaf pictures of themselves crying at the border.

It’s just disgustingly manipulative and incredibly harmful for those actually needing resources at the border, whether we are talking about CBP or the illegal immigrants themselves.

House Dems Excited About Mueller Testimony, But Not Half As Excited As Republicans Are

Westlake Legal Group ap-robert-mueller-migraine-620x432 House Dems Excited About Mueller Testimony, But Not Half As Excited As Republicans Are Special Counsel Robert Mueller President Trump Mueller Investigation House Democrats Front Page Stories Featured Story FBI and DOJ Corruption Allow Media Exception Abuse of Power 2020

Democrats are delighted that Special Counsel Robert Mueller will testify under subpoena on July 17th before the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees. Don’t they realize that this move has the potential to backfire? Spectacularly?

There are so many reasons why this may not end well for Democrats or for Mueller.

For starters, let’s go back to Mueller’s nine minute press conference last month. Putting aside the investigation and the report itself for a moment, Mueller appeared to be completely overwhelmed. At the time, I wrote, “If you watch Mueller’s demeanor, especially when he first steps up to the podium, he appears extremely ill at ease. It’s hard to imagine that such a powerful man would be quite so nervous, but he appeared petrified. And all he had to do was read something. He gave the impression that if he had to answer a serious question, he would explode.

Historian and political commentator Mark Levin’s observation was that Mueller appeared feeble. He said, “this is not a man who would do well under seven, eight, nine hours of questioning, with the Republicans honing in on so many issues.”

Next, Mueller does not want to answer questions. He is vulnerable and has a lot to hide.

He is used to operating behind the scenes. He issues orders and, until now, has answered to no one. Not even to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. House Republicans, particularly Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and those like him, will rip off the curtain. He will be taken completely out of his comfort zone and will be expected to answer many uncomfortable questions. Here are a few.

1.  Why did you accept the Special Counsel appointment when you had such obvious (and personal) conflicts of interest? (First, Mueller was interested in returning to his old job as FBI Director. President Trump turned him down the day before Rosenstein appointed him to the Special Counsel; Next, Mueller had a close long-term relationship with James Comey, whose firing triggered the Special Counsel; Last, Mueller had been involved in a financial dispute with Trump years ago over a portion of his membership fee ($15,000) at one of Trump’s golf clubs.)

2.  When did you learn that President Trump had not colluded with the Russians? (Republicans will press him on this.)

3.  Why did you choose only Democrats for your investigation team? (Special Counsel rules require a bipartisan team. They also require that the Special Counsel be a Washington outsider. Mueller was the ultimate Washington insider.)

4.  Why did you give the strong impression during your press conference that, although there may very well have been a prosecutable case against the President, you weren’t able to draw a conclusion due to the DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel rules? And, given that you were able to draw a conclusion about collusion, why couldn’t you have done so on obstruction?

(Specifically, he said: “If I had evidence, and that evidence was clear that he did not commit a crime, we would have said so.”
“Charging the President with a crime was not an option we could consider.”)

Attorney General William Barr was asked about why Mueller had failed to come to a conclusion on the question of obstruction of justice during his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 1st. He said, “We were frankly surprised that they were not going to reach a decision on obstruction and we asked them a lot about the reasoning behind this. Mueller stated three times to us in that meeting, in response to our questioning, that he emphatically was not saying that but for the OLC opinion he would have found obstruction.”

Barr made a similar remark at the press conference he held prior to the public release of the redacted Mueller Report. He told reporters, “We specifically asked him about the OLC opinion and whether or not he was taking a position that he would have found a crime but for the existence of the OLC opinion. And he made it very clear several times that was not his position.”

5.  Why did you stir up impeachment fever among House Democrats during your press conference? (Mueller tossed out a not so thinly veiled call to action.)

6.  Why did you ignore Hillary Clinton and her obvious crimes of obstruction of justice? Why did you ignore her collusion with Russia and Ukraine?

7.  When did you realize the Steele dossier was a pack of lies? And that the FBI had obtained a warrant to spy on Carter Page using the bogus dossier as the basis of their application?

8.  A DOJ court filing shows that the FBI actually began spying on Michael Flynn in January 2016 rather than December 2016 as the FBI and the Mueller report maintain. Please explain.

9.  The Mueller report omits a significant sentence from a voicemail left for Michael Flynn’s attorney’s by Trump’s attorney, John Dowd, which materially changes the meaning of the message. Please explain.

10. In the opening of the report, the Mueller team ties Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Kilimnik, who worked for Paul Manafort’s lobbying firm, to Russian intelligence. The reality is that Kilimnik was a top informant for the U.S. State Department and other Western intelligence agencies as well. Please explain.

And several more from American Greatness’ Julie Kelly:

11. In Volume II, page 103, in reference to the participants in the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, you refer to “the firm that produced the Steele reporting.” Why did you intentionally omit citing the name Fusion GPS or its owner, Glenn Simpson, throughout the 448-page report?

12. Did you know that at the same time Fusion GPS was working to collect opposition research on Donald Trump for the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee it also was representing Prevezon, a Russian-based company sanctioned by the U.S. government?

13. Why did you omit the fact that Glenn Simpson was working with Natalia Veselnitskya, the so-called Russian lawyer, on the Prevezon project and that Simpson met with her before the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting that she attended with Trump campaign associates including Donald Trump, Jr.?

14. Why did you also omit the fact the Glenn Simpson was working with Rinat Akhmetshin—another attendee of the Trump Tower meeting—on the Prevezon project and that Simpson met with both Veselnitskya and Akhmetshin the day after the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting?

15. Your office scrubbed the iPhone devices used by Peter Strzok and Lisa Page after they were dismissed from the team. Is that obstruction of justice since both are subjects of ongoing congressional investigations?

16. At what point did Comey inform Trump that the campaign was under investigation since there is no indication in Comey’s own memos that he disclosed that information to the president at any time prior to March 2017?

17. Aside from Comey’s own memos, do you have additional evidence to support the allegation that the president asked Comey to drop any inquiries related to Michael Flynn?

18. The report cites numerous news articles, including a few that contain classified information sourced by anonymous government officials. As you know, it is a felony to disclose classified information, such as intercepted phone calls with foreign ambassadors under surveillance and the existence of a FISA warrant. Did you identify any of the government officials who were illegally leaking classified information to the news media?

19. Is it illegal for the president of the United States to fire the FBI director, with or without cause?

20. Is it illegal for the president of the United States to consider firing, or to fire, a special counsel?

This is not a complete list. It could go on from here. By the end of the day, we might actually start feeling sorry for Mr. Mueller…Nah.

We all know what this investigation was about. It was an unsuccessful attempt to remove President Trump from office.

Still, I do have one final question for him. If it was not your job to determine if the President had committed a crime, what have you been doing for the past 22 months?

We’ve been watching the unfolding of the story of E. Jean Carroll, the woman who claims Trump raped her.

While the mainstream media did everything in their power to prop Carroll up as a viable source, the woman has exhibited incredibly odd behavior, including a very awkward interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN, wherein she floated the idea that people think rape is sexy.

Carroll’s claim was that one day she was in a Bergdorf dressing room in Manhattan when Trump burst in and sexually assaulted her. There’s no proof that it happened, and as time goes on, it’s becoming safe to assume that it didn’t. Especially after an interesting discovery floated around on social media.

As it turns out, being sexually assaulted in a Bergdorf dressing room is the plotline in an episode of “Law and Order,” wherein a man being questioned by police describes a role play fantasy being played out by a couple where the man bursts into a Bergdorf dressing room while the woman was trying on lingerie.

Let’s remember that during Carroll’s interview with Anderson Cooper that she mentioned that people think rape is sexy and described it as being a fantasy.

“Think of the fantasies,” she told Cooper.

I want to be clear that I’m not saying that Carroll’s claim is or isn’t real. I have no proof of either, just a hunch due to a long history of watching accusers come out of the woodwork when a person is about to achieve a position of power. From Clarence Thomas to Brett Kavanaugh, and a plethora of Republican politicians in between, sexual assault allegations are a dime a dozen, and they very rarely seem to be true.

With Trump approaching 2020 and the Russian scandal a dud, the left has to turn to something, and another sexual assault or rape accusations was completely expected.

That said, I do want to bring attention to the fact that this “Law and Order” episode and the similarities of the claims made by Carroll seem too similar not to be suspect. Adding the fact that she mentions rape fantasies, just like the episode talks about, makes this seem even odder.

I’m not one for engaging in conspiracy theories, but I am one for paying attention to weird details. And this? This is definitely a weird detail.

Somebody should ask Carroll if she watches a lot of television.

Abortion Activist Reaches New Levels of Crazy With Claim About Infant Baptisms

Abortion activists are an odd bunch, to say the least. Just when you think you’ve reached the rocky bottom of their insanity, they toss you a shovel and encourage you to keep digging.

Former Irish president Mary McAleese is one such activist who believes her brand of crazy is absolutely normal, yet a harmless tradition practiced for hundreds of years is somehow a horrible thing.

According to the Irish Times, McAleese recently attacked the Catholic practice of baptizing a baby in water as a violation of fundamental human rights:

Saying that early Baptism breaches fundamental human rights, she said: “You can’t impose, really, obligations on people who are only two weeks old and you can’t say to them at seven or eight or 14 or 19 ‘here is what you contracted, here is what you signed up to’ because the truth is they didn’t.”

The current model of Baptism “worked for many centuries because people didn’t understand that they had the right to say no, the right to walk away”, she declared.

According to Life News, McAleese may be a bit salty about the Catholic church, especially after it opposed the repeal of Ireland’s pro-life laws:

Last week, McAleese also blasted Catholic Bishop Kevin Doran of Elphin who urged Catholics to attend confession if they voted to repeal the country’s pro-life Eighth Amendment.

The Irish Independent reports McAleese flouted the bishop’s urging and openly touted her vote to allow the legalized killing of unborn babies in Ireland. She made the statements at a weekend conference organized by the Catholic lay group We Are Church Ireland in Dublin.

I really shouldn’t have to explain why McAleese’s statement is absolutely ridiculous, but I feel like I do in light of the fact that too many pro-abortion advocates exhibit low levels of reasoning that surprises me, given the fact that these opinions come from thinking humans who are intelligent enough at least put fully formed sentences together.

During the baptism, infant baptism is when water is poured over a baby’s head in a ceremony dating back to what some believe to be the time of Paul the apostle. No harm befalls the baby. Their heads get a bit wet and then everyone goes to lunch.

During an abortion, the baby dies because the doctor kills the child with various methods of doing so at his disposal, some of them sounding like concepts straight out of a horror movie.

Of the two of these, which one do you feel violates the baby’s human rights. The one where it puts on a nice little gown, has some H20 dribbled on its head and then has a bottle, or the one where it’s killed.

You decide.
