‘Holocaust Denier’: Alan Dershowitz Excoriates Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Her ‘Concentration Camp’ Remarks

Personally, I’ve been disturbed by the Left’s references to Hitler since the days of George W. Bush.

“He’s Hitler!” signs and bumper stickers would declare.

It’s become the put-down of choice, spreading — in my view — dangerous ignorance to an entire generation. Now, it seems, any Republican leader who comes across as egomaniacal or who leads a war or who merely has conservative leanings may be subject to the Adolf treatment.

In order to compare Trump to Hitler or the border to Nazis, one must A) not know what America does, B) not know what Germany did, or C) both A and B.

Apropos, Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz threw down on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her claim that America’s running “Never Again”-style concentration camps at the border.

In fact, Alan accused AOC in a radio interview last week of being a “Holocaust denier.”

There is a sort of logic to that.

For more on Alexandria’s Instagram video that ignited a firestorm of criticism from Survivors and Jewish groups among others, please see my coverage here, here, and here.

In her video Monday, she claimed the following:

“The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border, and that is exactly what they are — they are concentration camps. And, um, if that doesn’t bother you, I don’t, I don’t know, I like, we can have, okay whatever. I want to talk to the people that are concerned enough with humanity to say that ‘Never Again’ means something. The fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the ‘Home of the Free’ is extraordinarily disturbing, and we need to do something about it.”

Here’s what Alan had to say on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight:

“Let nobody misunderstand what she was saying. When she used the words ‘concentration camps,’ what she meant to invoke was the Holocaust. She didn’t make distinctions between death camps and detention centers, between Dachau and Auschwitz. Even in the concentration camps that may not have been death camps, so many people died because they were forced laborers and everything like that. And of course, ‘Never Again’ is the direct invocation of the Holocaust.”

Alan’s analysis of denial:

“By making that comparison, she becomes a Holocaust denier, because what’s she’s saying is: ‘Gee, if all that Hitler did is what Trump is doing on the southern border,’ then there were no death camps, there were no killing squads, there was no genocide, there was no murder of a million-and-a-half babies, there were no selections where people were picked based on their health and whether they were twins and subjected to the most gruesome form of punishment.’”

As I said, there’s a certain logic to it. But if she can be said to have denied the Holocaust, then the same accusation must be laid at the feet of the media, social media users, and — yes — conservatives who’ve made similar allegations against select left-wingers.

Evil exists in 2019, and I have no doubt government can still be its instrument, But in my opinion, no one should accuse contemporary America or any of its current or past leaders of being Nazi Germany or Hitler. The 1930’s and 40’s saw an unprecedented evil arise. Millions of men, women, and children were rounded up at gunpoint — solely due to their heritage — and murdered en masse.

The victims of the Holocaust deserve our remembrance, respect, and reverence. And our understanding that there’s no way to understand what they endured. Their suffering should never be diminished by way of reference to lesser deeds.

Delving further, I invite you to read Gene Simmons’s powerful tribute to his mother — Holocaust survivor Flora Klein. She loved America, because she knew what it meant.

What do you think of all this? I look forward to learning in the Comments section.

Thank you for reading.

Pete Buttigieg’s Problems Mount As His Town Hall Explodes Over Racial Tensions

FILE – In this March 27, 2015 file photo, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg speaks about the area’s opposition to the recently signed religious freedom legislation in downtown South Bend. Buttigieg has come out as gay in a newspaper editorial. The first-term Democratic mayor says in the personal essay published Tuesday, June 16 in the South Bend Tribune that he was well into adulthood before he was prepared to acknowledge that he’s gay. (Greg Swiercz/South Bend Tribune via AP)

Pete Buttigieg, after having the ability to do no wrong early on, has hit some rough seas the past few weeks.

Oddly enough, or not oddly enough given the state of our media, it took events happening in the town he’s supposedly still mayor of to spoil the party for him. Tensions are rising around a police shooting involving an armed suspect and a white officer. I’m not seeing much of any evidence at this point that this specific shooting was anything more than a normal call that escalated due to the presence of a deadly threat, but many are accusing the South Bend Police Department of systemic racism in the aftermath.

We’ll have to see what other details emerge and I will at least leave open the possibility that something more happened, as residents cite a history of misconduct to bolster their claims.

As I wrote a few days ago, things first boiled over onto the national stage in a cringe-worthy viral clip of Buttigieg being confronted by Black Lives Matter protestors. But after initially attempting to weather that storm, things only got worse in the subsequent days.

Yesterday, Buttigieg held a town hall in South Bend to address his constituents’ concerns and things quickly went off the rails.

(Credit to Twitchy for compiling many of these tweets.)

The LA Times did a full write-up on what transpired. Here are some quotes.

When a pastor representing Al Sharpton Jr. was the first from the audience to take the mic during the town hall’s question-and-answer portion Sunday, the crowd jeered at the outsider. John Winston Jr., a community activist, walked up to the front of the stage to confront the pastor as Buttigieg watched, taking the microphone to air his own grievances about the city’s relationship with its black residents.

“They keep begging us to reach out and bridge this gap and whatever else,” Winston, who is biracial, told the audience, recounting the time he tried to host a cookout for police officers a few years ago. “And we reached out, and they said no.”

I tried to dig up exactly what that representative said, but it’s not hard to ascertain why the crowd got upset. It’s pretty tone-deaf to bring in an outside race hustler to be the opening act at your town hall when the people who actually live in the city want their concerns to be taken seriously by local authorities. Perhaps Buttigieg felt that pandering with an Al Sharpton lackey would reduce the temperature in the room? He clearly miscalculated though.

Other attendees voiced their frustration as well.

But at home, Buttigieg is a much more common figure in American politics: a white politician struggling to connect with his black constituents, many of whom are plagued by grinding poverty and violence that their wunderkind mayor has been unable to eradicate after seven years in office.

“You might as well just withdraw your name from the presidential race,” said a woman in the raucous crowd. “His presidential campaign is over… I believe that today ended his campaign.”

Given the history of attempts to eradicate violence and poverty in low-income neighborhoods across the country, my personal reaction to this is that it’s unfair. Most of the problems with crime in these communities are self-inflicted and there’s very little a police department can do outside of enforcing the law. Even when they do that, they are usually then accused of racial bias and over-policing. So what’s the solution exactly and what exactly do these residents want Buttigieg to do?

Regardless, when you traffic in bad faith attacks, you should expect to get them back and Buttigieg is reaping what he’s sowed. On the national stage, he’s attacked Republicans who’ve done nothing but praise him in the past. He’s gone after the religious views of some and he’s lied about issues dealing with immigration.

Buttigieg had the chance to keep the good faith some on the right initially gave him. He squandered that and how he’s being eaten by his own side. He gets to figure that out on his own.

Right now though, none of this is good for him and he’s going to look even more out of touch at the debate this week while things are burning down in his hometown.

Gowdy Hints Trump And Hillary Received Different Pre-Election FBI Intelligence Briefings

Westlake Legal Group Trump-and-Hillary Gowdy Hints Trump And Hillary Received Different Pre-Election FBI Intelligence Briefings Trey Gowdy Russia collusion intelligence briefings Hillary Clinton Front Page Stories Featured Story FBI donald trump Abuse of Power 2016 Election

Former House Oversight Chair Trey Gowdy continues to reveal what he knows about exactly what happened during the 2016 election, when literally everyone was positive Hillary Clinton would handily defeat now-President Donald Trump.

Gowdy, of course, has seen documentation and transcripts few others have seen, so when he drops truth bombs on Fox News, where he is now a contributor, it’s wise to listen.

On this edition of “What Trey Gowdy Knows,” the former Congressman appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo and suggested the FBI gave two different intelligence briefings to candidates Clinton and Trump in August 2016, defensive briefings that “focused on the broad range of threats posed by foreign intelligence entities.”

During a Sunday interview on Fox News, Gowdy referenced how the campaigns of both Clinton and then-candidate Donald Trump received counterintelligence “defensive” briefings, but claimed they were not the same. Gowdy said the FBI provided “two different kinds of defensive briefings to candidates depending on who you like and who you don’t,” and coupled with how the FBI withheld transcript material from the FISA court, “then your bias begins to impact the investigation.”

Trump’s briefing was coordinated by Strzok, which raised red flags among Republicans. According to Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, it made no mention of the counterintelligence investigation into members of the Trump team that he opened less than three weeks prior.

In recent weeks Gowdy, who was chairman of the Oversight Committee until he left Congress at the beginning of this year, has spoken out about classified information he claims “has the potential to be a game changer.” Last month he discussed unreleased transcripts of recorded conversations between FBI informants and former Trump campaign associate George Papadopoulos. Gowdy said “one in particular has the potential to actually persuade people” and noted this “exculpatory evidence related to Papadopoulos was not included in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act applications targeting former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.”

Gowdy said the potential game-changer transcript should be released to the American public, and he also noted that it had in fact changed his mind about the Mueller investigation, of which he had originally been supportive.

“[W]hen you have information that someone you think has done something wrong has, in fact, not done something wrong, when you have exculpatory information and you don’t share it with others and then you put that together with Strzok and Page and the defensive briefings, remember, Maria, the defense of [former FBI Director James] Comey and the media and the Democrats has always been, yeah, some of the FBI was biased against Trump, and it didn’t really matter. This really matters,” Gowdy said.

None of this is really all that surprising at this point, but the more details are released about the collusion sham, the more corrupt the federal government begins to look because efforts to help Hillary defeat Trump by smearing him seem to have come from several coordinated corners. As Democrats begin to declare their candidacies for 2020, it might be good to ask incumbents what they knew — if anything — about events during the election of 2016.

The RedState Box Office Report — Not Playing Around

Child’s Play image from United Artists; Toy Story 4 image from Disney/Pixar Pictures

The tough summer continues to be a challenge for studios. Sure, this time the problem is a bit of a qualified one, ad a surefire monstrous hit was merely a massive hit, but it is still a curious sign.

With the field dominated in such a strong fashion there was little else to be found in the form of good news, with one debut struggling to find its audience, and the holdovers bleeding off revenue in a steady rate. Audiences seem more content to put away their playthings than to come out for a good time.

1.  TOY STORY 4 – $118.0 Million
Here was a story about ever-changing predictions. At one point early in the week it was believed that this had the chance of reaching a $200 million opening, beating the record of $182 million set last summer by “Incredibles 2”. But then the studio set its projection at $140 million, and as the weekend played out it was lowered to $125 million, then $120 million, before settling once more. The reason it had been highly touted was a record in presale tickets for an animated release announced by Fandango. That was coupled with massive critical support of 98%, so the expectations were not out of line. Then the audience momentum never materialized. The weakest metric was in Males 25-under, so apart from families the film struggled a bit.
This is not bad news for Disney however. This opening is better than “Toy Story 3” ($110 million) which went on to gross over $400 million domestically, and over $1 billion worldwide. For the fourth edition, Disney changed from its staggered global rollout and instead debuted it simultaneously in foreign markets. This leads to setting the global record debut for an animated film, edging out “Incredibles 2” at $238 million.

As a bonus, Keanu Reeves plays the new Canadian stunt motorcycle toy, Duke Kaboom.

2. CHILD’S PLAY – $14.05m
United Artists played this as strictly as a counter-programming ploy, hoping a horror title might serve as a tonic for teen ticket buyers with an established property. They also tabbed Mark Hamil to take over the voice duties of the evil action figure, hoping to draw more attention, but the movie did not draw as much blood as anticipated. The studio openly embraced the competition, releasing a series of posters that showed the devilish doll Chucky having gone on the attack of a variety of the Disney characters.

3. ALADDIN – $12.2m
The live-action version of the studio classic is going so strong that after 5 weeks it still plays on nearly 3,500 screens. Reaching the $300 million mark is a foregone conclusion, and globally it has the chance of topping $1 billion.

4. MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL – $10.75M
Sony’s attempt at reinvigorating its franchise is not capturing the intended targets. After a disappointing debut last week it drops a steep -64%, just now getting over the $50 million line. There will be many questions at the studio following this performance.

5. THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 – $10.29M
While not a disaster this is woeful, considering expectations. After three weeks it has only now passed the amount of the original film’s opening weekend. It will fall well short of the first movie’s total run of $368 million.

6. ROCKETMAN 5.65m
The Elton John biopic is cruising in orbit, taking in a decent $77 million to date, and equaalling that amount overseas.

7. JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 – $4.07m
Keanu Reeves’ taciturn assassin is making a lot of noise. It has made over $150 million and is still competing after 6 weeks in theaters.

8. GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS – $3.7m
It has not scorched the landscape stateside, taking a full month to hit the $100 million plateau. (The original Warners release nearly made that on its first weekend.) International numbers are FAR better, and it remains to be seen if that will be enough to float the film to profits.

9. DARK PHOENIX – $3.6m
Sheer disaster for the franchise finale at Fox. It drops another -61%, as a result losing a massive 1,600 screens in just its third week.

10. SHAFT – $3.55m
Another planned rebooted franchise that fell apart. It missed projections in its debut last week, and now tumbles -60%, so it is doubtful Warners will be revisiting this property anytime soon.

In the aftermath of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY-14) absurd comparison of border detention centers to Nazi concentration camps last Monday night, the freshman Congresswoman has received a number of invites to visit actual concentration camps in order to educate herself on the vast differences between the two.

One such invite came from a Holocaust remembrance group called “From the Depths”, who posted a letter to her on Friday inviting her to take time during her summer break to visit Auschwitz for a guided educational tour:

A Holocaust commemoration group on Friday invited Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) to tour the Nazi death camp Auschwitz with a 93-year-old survivor.

Jonny Daniels, the founder of From the Depths, wrote the open invitation to the progressive freshman asking her to participate in the educational tour during her summer recess from Congress.

From the Depths president Edward Mosberg, a Holocaust survivor, would travel with her for the tour, which includes visits to the Auschwitz-Birkenau, Mauthausen and Majdanek concentration camps.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA-4), who is not high on anyone’s list in Congress these days, posted a link to the story about the invite and encouraged Ocasio-Cortez to take the group up on their offer:

AOC responded, and in the process accidentally reminded people not just of her party’s growing tolerance for anti-Semitism within their ranks, but also her own:

In at least one regard, she’s right. Not only did the House GOP rightly strip King of all his committee assignments, but he was also overwhelmingly rebuked by the House by name.

But her tweet also brings to mind how House Democrats – at AOC’s urging – not only refused to condemn Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN-5) by name over her repeated use of anti-Semitic tropes, but they passed a watered-down “anti-hate” resolution instead of one specific to anti-Semitism and let her keep her assignment on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

In other words, she wasn’t punished at all for her reprehensible comments.

Reminding AOC of her party’s blatant duplicity – as well as her own – on calling out specific members for their hate speech needed to be done:

Later, for no other apparent reason other than pure spite, Ocasio-Cortez tagged Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on the conversation:

No doubt she’s still fuming over Cheney taking her to task last week, but did you catch Ocasio-Cortez’s insinuation that she believes there are more Republican members of the House who (secretly?) have the same affinity for white nationalism King does?

This insinuation, I should remind everyone, is coming from a virtue signaling queen who has made repeated excuses for the anti-Semitic actions and words not just of Omar but also of Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI-13). Furthermore, her Democratic Socialist party endorses the anti-Semitic BDS movement. So pot, kettle and all that.

In one of her last tweets on the matter (for Sunday, anyway) AOC went the dishonest route by pretending it was King who issued the invite to visit Auschwitz, not the “From the Depths” group:

Daily Wire‘s Ryan Saavedra called her out on it:

Let’s review re: AOC: An apologist for anti-Semitic Democrats? Check. Disgustingly appropriating the Holocaust for political gain? Check. One of the biggest hindrances to alleviating the humanitarian crisis at the border? Check. Insincere about solving the problem? Check. Dishonest to the core? Check.

A Study Found 92% of Left-Wing Activists Still Live with Parents, and It’s Not Likely to Get Better

Westlake Legal Group AP_18073558227040-620x341 A Study Found 92% of Left-Wing Activists Still Live with Parents, and It’s Not Likely to Get Better university Unemployment student debt protest Politics millennials leftist left-wing Front Page Stories Featured Story democrats college antifa Activism

They’re marching down the street wearing black, their faces obscured by red bandanas or possibly a Guy Fawkes mask. They’re intimidating as they create a mob and chase after you, calling you a fascist and a Nazi because you don’t share their extreme ideology. They’re marching down the street bashing in car windows and vandalizing storefronts. They’re going to do all it takes to stop fascism and hate speech.

But they have to hurry this along because they have to be home before 10:30, or else their mom will be totally pissed off.

This is a likely story according to a Berlin study, but this is not a new story. In fact, the Daily Mail published these findings back in 2017 which showed that 92 percent of leftist activists that were arrested in Berlin still live with their parents, and what’s more, a third are completely unemployed:

The figures, which were published in daily newspaper Bild revealed that 873 suspects were investigated by authorities between 2003 and 2013.

Of these 84 per cent were men, and 72 per cent were aged between 18 and 29.

More than half of the arrests were made in the Berlin districts of Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Mitte, mostly during demonstrations.

A third of them were unemployed, and 92 per cent still live with their parents.

Why am I writing on it now? Because the story is making the rounds today, and after looking into it, the story likely hasn’t changed.

According to Fox Business, millennials are still living at home two years later:

A recent analysis found that 14 million adults between the ages of 23 to 37 are living with their parents, a sign that some millennials may have financial burdens.

The analysis by ZillowOpens a New Window. determined that 21.9 percent of millennials lived with their parents, up from 12.7 percent in 2000. More millennials chose to stay with their parents in areas where the rents were high. The study surveyed data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the American Community Survey.

While I’m not automatically assigning millennials to being leftist activists — I just barely fall within the age range myself — I will note that the age range of those living with their parents falls within the age range of those leftists in Berlin who were caught by police and got arrested for leftist radicalism in the streets.

The reasons millennials live with their parents has been evident for a long time. They owe monumental amounts of debt for a degree that is essentially useless. With everyone going for similar jobs, the jobs are all taken up rather quickly. Millennials end up living with mom and dad as they flip burgers and hope an opportunity comes along for solid employment.

Right now, the U.S.’s student collective student loan debt is around $1.5 trillion. Some companies, in order to attract younger workers as their boomers retire off, offer to help pay off the student debt.  This is all well and good, but all the boomers aren’t going to retire out all at once. Hoping you’re one of the millennial replacements is still a lottery.

Imagine you’re a millennial drowning in debt with little to no job prospects. You come home from flipping burgers to find your degree uselessly hanging on your wall. You’re fresh out of college and maybe leftist professors have planted seeds of doubt in your mind about the American system if they haven’t completely turned you against it and made you a raving lunatic. The American system isn’t exactly helping you either.

Then some politicians come along basically telling you that if you join them, they’ll completely wipe away your debt and proceed to promise you all these free things like Medicare for all. They tell you that you’ll be helping make the world a better place, which sounds great to someone who feels useless.

Maybe it started back in college, or maybe it starts online. You join some groups, you meet other people who draw you further in. One thing leads to another and you’re marching the streets chanting nonsense about the system. Maybe things get heated and soon you’re dragged into a confrontation with people who oppose your side. Things get heated and some things happen. You get arrested.

We can trace this back to the University which handed out a degree that’s worth far less than it charged and gave the students ideas that all the worst things they’ve ever heard about America are true. Society drilled it into the student’s mind, however, that without that degree the student would be worthless out of college. He or she worked hard to get that degree in hopes of a better future, only to not get one. It’s the saddest joke on millennials today.

Maybe college isn’t the best idea.

The Democratic Primary debates start June 26th and 27th. They’ll be getting hard hitting questions from such stalwart journalists as (checks notes)…Rachel Maddow?

You can guess what kind of night it’s going to be. While I expect NBC to do everything they can to protect Joe Biden, perhaps we’ll see some off the script action. The game will be to focus on Trump but eventually, if any of these other candidates want to win, they’ll have to start going after each other.

For Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell though, these debates just aren’t that important.

This has some in the media presenting this as playing hardball.

Welcome to 2019, where actually asking elected officials to work is considered controversial.

While Cocaine Mitch probably had sticking it to these do-nothing Democrats in the back of his mind, the truth is that remaining in session is absolutely crucial right now. They were already scheduled to be off the first week of July. While most of us get a single day off (and some no day off), Congress gets the entire week for some reason.

That means that there’s no way to take Thursday and Friday off, as working on immigration issues is vital right now. Trump agreed to a two week delay in a major ICE deportation operation after Pelosi requested it. While a deal is unlikely, you can’t make an attempt at one if you take that entire two weeks off.

While CNN wants to spin this as underhanded politics from those mean ole Republicans, it’s actually completely normal. There are always proceedings on Wednesday and Thursday.

As it stands though, most of the 2020 Democrat candidates who double as Senators will skip things anyway, because actually doing their job is less important than preening on MSNBC for a primary they won’t win anyway.

The Democratic Party is suffering from a major identity crisis. This isn’t new information, of course, but it seems to keep getting worse.

Just yesterday, former Rep. Joe Sestak announced he was entering the Democratic primary, bringing the count to 24. That’s right, folks, two dozen Democrats are now vying for the chance to run against Donald Trump in 2020.

Now I would be lying if I told you all 24 had a chance. In fact, only a small handful are really getting any media coverage at all. I don’t expect the race to be that complex when it comes down to it, but that’s not because there is someone who just stands out and is likely to win it.

Even if it’s a small handful – say six or seven of those candidates – who actually stand a chance, each of them are in a desperate race to out-progressive the next. In doing so, they are going to put themselves into a fairly dangerous position.

I have argued, and will continue to argue, that if the American public were looking for an alternative to Trump, it would be in the form of a centrist candidate. Those who exist in the Democratic Party are not trying to run for President. They are mostly the Nancy Pelosi’s and the other, older Democrats who don’t want to go off the deep end in response to Trump.

But the ones who are running are going crazy in trying to out-crazy the next candidate, and the result is a far-left primary that very few Americans that would need to be persuaded to join up would be willing to do so.

That’s what makes this primary so hilarious. The successful candidates in the primary are the ones going full-socialist in an effort to show themselves as totally opposite Trump in policy. In all actually, the path to beating Trump is way easier if you were to target him from the center, not the left. However, the Sestaks of the Democratic Party aren’t going to do that.

They’ll continue to push further and further left, and Trump can just laugh and work his way toward a victory in 2020.

Wow: Tucker Carlson Calls National Security Advisor John Bolton a ‘Bureaucratic Tapeworm’

Here’s a put-down you may not have heard before.

On Friday, Tucker Carlson gave National Security Advisor John Bolton a severe tongue-lashing, calling the official a “bureaucratic tapeworm.”

How’s that for original.

Tucker was excoriating John for, in his view, pushing from within the administration for a war with Iran.

The comment came in the aftermath of a tense sequence of events — Iran’s Revolutionary Guard shot down a U.S. spy drone over the Strait of Hormuz Thursday. Subsequently, the President eyed an attack, ultimately pulling back due to the projected casualties (here).

Trump expressed his preference for something more “proportionate.”

Tucker played a clip highlighting the above, capping it wth the wish that “our leaders contemplating war” would ask that “most basic of all questions.”

“The whole thing, in the end, offended his sense of decency,” Tucker praised. But, he asserted, “Policymakers in Washington crave a war with Iran”

The host cut to “CNN’s 36-year-old national security analyst attack the President yesterday.”

And then:

“Only in foreign policy circles do people say things that stupid. In fact, last night was a high point in the Trump presidency. … Ill-advised wars are like doing cocaine: The initial rush rises your poll numbers, but the crash is inevitable and in this case, it would be horrible.

How’d we get so close to war with Iran?

According to Carlson, in so many words, a bunch of people don’t care about its cost.

Tucker profiled “Left-wing New York Times columnist Bret Stephens” who “took a break from attacking Donald Trump” to celebrate “neocon” John Bolton’s hiring in April of 2018.  “Stevens assured MSNBC viewers that John Bolton was a great choice because he would push the president toward war.”

Next, the host played war-friendly (harsh and hilarious) clips of Bolton, followed by this:

“John Bolton is a kind of bureaucratic tapeworm. Try as you might, you can’t expel him. He seems to live forever in the bowels of the federal agencies, periodically reemerging to cause pain and suffering — but critically somehow never suffering himself.

“His life really is Washington in a nutshell: Blunder into obvious catastrophes again and again, refuse to admit blame, and then demand more of the same. That’s the John Bolton life cycle. In between administration jobs, there are always cushy think-tank posts, paid speaking gigs, cable news contracts. War may be a disaster for America, but for John Bolton and his fellow neocons, it is always good business.”

Wow.

Watch the video above. And never get into an insult match with Tucker Carlson.

President Trump Warns Iran: War Would Bring ‘Obliteration Like You’ve Never Seen Before’

During a taped interview Friday — which aired on Sunday’s Meet the Press — President Trump warned that, if the U.S. attacks Iran over its development of nuclear weapons, things are gonna get reeeal ugly:

“I’m not looking for war, and if there is, it’ll be obliteration like you’ve never seen before. But I’m not looking to do that. But you can’t have a nuclear weapon. You want to talk? Good. Otherwise you can have a bad economy for the next three years.”

Notably, Trump explained that he’s willing to have a sit-in with Iranian leaders to prevent such a Middle East malady.

The Prez’s remarks come after Friday’s hubbub over Iran’s Revolutionary Guard having shot down a U.S. spy drone over the Strait of Hormuz (here), which occurred amid already significant tension (here and here).

Trump called off a strike “10 minutes” before it was set for launch, citing the projected casualties.

Speaking to host Chuck Todd, the Commander-in-Chief called it a “modest but pretty, pretty heavy attack schedule.”

As I covered previously, for now, sanctions are the name of the game (here). They begin Monday.

But no matter what — and no matter what it takes to stop it — Trump warned, “They cannot have a nuclear weapon. … They cannot have a nuclear weapon. They’d use it. And they’re not going to have a nuclear weapon.”
