After Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard gave Kamala Harris a figurative black eye on Wednesday night’s 2020 Democrat debate stage, Gabbard’s been the talk of the digital town.
The thing is, it would appear that the major leftist networks don’t appreciate Gabbard bruising the chances of Harris, their favored candidate, and in almost every interview from cable news networks that I’ve seen, the only one to give her a fair shake is Fox News. Meanwhile, MSNBC and CNN have gone on the attack.
The angle seems to be to play up Gabbard’s meeting with the Assad regime in Syria three years ago. Gabbard has been confronted on this multiple times throughout her career, but now with it back in the spotlight thanks to a comeback by Harris in a CNN interview, the media has zeroed in on it again.
“This coming from someone who has been an apologist for an individual, Assad, who has murdered the people of his country like cockroaches,” said Harris in response to Gabbard’s attack on her corrupt criminal justice history.
Gabbard appeared on CNN with Chris Cuomo who immediately launched after her with the Assad meeting, even telling her what she needs to do.
“You need to acknowledge that Bashar al-Assad is a murderous despot, and you can still make your argument that the United States has no business risking blood and treasure in places where it should not be,” said Cuomo. “I don’t understand why you didn’t give that answer last night.”
With one fell swoop, Cuomo made it sound as if Gabbard was actually in league with the Assad regime. Gabbard didn’t take it lying down, however.
Gabbard responded by saying she doesn’t disagree with Cuomo and acknowledged that Assad is a brutal dictator in the same vein of Sadam Hussein, and made the case that wars against such dictators have been baseless and wasteful, especially of human lives.
Cuomo attempted to interrupt her, saying she’s putting herself in a hole, but Gabbard continued.
“I will never apologize for doing all that I can to prevent more of my brothers and sisters in uniform from being sent into harm’s way to fight in these wasteful, counter-productive regime change wars. Even if it means meeting with a brutal dictator.”
Gabbard went on to talk about not fighting these wars in order to save lives and taxpayer dollars, but Cuomo seemed dead set on tarnishing Gabbard’s stance and accused her of defending Assad from her own website. Gabbard countered by clarifying that it wasn’t a defense, but an expressed skepticism that would lend to making sure the U.S. stays out of a war with Syria.
Cuomo still didn’t seem pleased and noted that none of Gabbard’s evidence exonerates Assad, which Gabbard had already said she wasn’t trying to do.
The second attack happened on MSNBC, and here we see Gabbard becoming frustrated over the Assad questioning. Gabbard points out that this meeting happened three years ago, and yet the media still rakes her over the coals about it.
Gabbard became so frustrated that she accused MSNBC of throwing out talking points from the Harris campaign as the MSNBC host continuously tried to interrupt her.
Tulsi Gabbard explodes on MSNBC after they repeatedly press her for meeting Bashar al-Assad, who gasses children: "these are talking points that Kamala Harris and her campaign are feeding you because she’s refusing to address the questions"
While I have zero intention of ever voting for Gabbard, I do find her struggles against the Democrat party and the opposition she’s finding from the mainstream news networks fascinating. In a way, I can’t help but sympathize with her, seeing as how she’s getting the same treatment anyone on the right gets from these networks.
It’s interesting to watch these networks seem to scramble to nail Gabbard on the very thing Harris brought up and attack her on it. Meanwhile, Harris seems to be getting softballs thrown at her from the same media.

I would have said he embarrassed himself but if you’re reporting on butt-sex for ThinkProgress that train has already left the station at a high rate of speed.
Last night, President Trump held a rally in Cincinnati, OH, and the lefties were out in to pick nits and “fact check.” Fact-checking is what happens when any Republican says something that the left disagrees with and rarely, if ever, involves actual facts. The classic case was the Washington Post’s fact check maven, Glenn Kessler, rating a Mitt Romney statement “true but false.” There was drama, like a geriatric leftist getting his eyes dotted (I’m not condoning this, by the way, but the Washington Post did a story on it so it seemed newsworthy):
29-year-old Dallas Frazier has been charged with assault for punching a 61-year-old anti-Trump protester outside Trump’s Cincinnati rally yesterday.
There was the usual Trumpian hyperbole, and then this happened:
The homicide rate in Baltimore is significantly higher than El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, I believe it’s higher than, give me a give me a place that you think is pretty bad, give me a place…the guy says Afghanistan…I believe it’s higher than Afghanistan. In our country. Think of that. I believe…we’ll check the numbers and if we’re wrong they will tell us tomorrow, it’ll be headlines.
This incensed ThinkProgresses designated homosexual issues reporter Zack Ford (can I just ask why publications have reporters covering gay sex and not regular, Darwinian type of sex?)
If you aren’t familiar with Ford, this is the one thing in his life he’s famous for (I mean he may be really famous in gay sex circles but I don’t frequent those places often enough to find out).
My final words to her were: “Every time you wear the hat, you remember you lost a friendship over it. Every time.” I know for sure I’ll now think of her every time I see a MAGA hat, and I’ll fear its corrupting power even more than I used to. https://t.co/NkcdMHeHMK
Welp, let’s do an actual fact check rather than relying on the judgment of someone who doesn’t really have the background, education, or experience to do that. We know that Baltimore’s homicide rate is about 52-56 per 100,000 (it may go higher this weekend…probably will, in fact), see my epic Violence In Elijah Cummings’s District Is So Bad His Constituents Can Qualify For Political Asylum At the Mexican Border for more details. El Salvador’s homicide rate is about 62 per 100,000. That makes El Salvador safer than East St. Louis or Gary or Detroit, but marginally more dangerous than Baltimore. Honduras is about 42 per 100,000 making it safer than Baltimore. Guatemala is at 26…a veritable garden spot by comparison. But Afghanistan?? Afghanistan, in the midst of a war, has a homicide rate of 7 per 100,000. Wonderful.
It should be uncontroversial to say what Baltimore is. It is a failed city. Its population is about 2/3 of what it was in 1950. While areas like Federal Hill and Fells Point might be livable and fun, that is not the majority of the city. A significant portion of the city lives in a situation that is a national disgrace. Last year, six of Baltimore’s high schools were found to have not a single student with grade-level proficiency in reading or math. And keep in mind when evaluating the homicide rate, nearly all of those homicides are clustered in West Baltimore, so the actual rate in that area is orders of magnitude higher than the citywide rate.
There is only controversy because the the member of Congress for that district is Elijah Cummings. Cummings has made a career of surfing off racial grievances while, I maintain, doing absolutely nothing to change the situation because he and his wife owe their careers and livelihoods to keeping people poor, and uneducated, and angry.
Maybe this spat between Trump and Cummings will have the side effect of making people in his district wake up to the fact that they’ve been used to further one man’s career and they will do something about it.
“It’s okay when we do it.” It’s the unofficial motto of the left, and we get daily reminders that the things that the left considers to be grave sins are perfectly okay to do if they’re the ones doing it.
Take, for instance, the feminist movement’s former sweetheart Lena Dunham. Dunham was on the front lines of “believing all women” until it was someone close to her who was in the crosshairs. Dunham immediately moved to defend her longtime show writer Murray Miller, then under pressure, caved and turned on Miller.
But apparently, her stance that sexual assault is bad is about as wobbly as her loyalties. Dunham made headlines when she attempted to force a kiss on Brad Pitt during the premiere of Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.
She even brags about a moment of flashing Pitt her underwear while on set on the movie.
I should say that I personally don’t see the harm in a surprise peck, and understand the context behind Dunham’s underwear flash towards Pitt. My problem is that Dunham and self-professed feminists have expressed that these kinds of things are wrong to do, and even have gone so far as to call it things like “sexual assault.”
Imagine if someone like Danny DeVito or Jerry Seinfeld had done what Dunham did. Imagine Adam Driver trying to sneak a kiss, or Gary Oldman flashing his underwear at an actress. There would be outrage pouring down from the hills like a broken dam, flooding the media and internet with hashtags and opinion pieces.
Yet, we’re not hearing much from Hollywood or the feminist elite. There’s a smattering of tweets calling Dunham a hypocrite, but there is no reawakening of a movement. Dunham isn’t the right sex for the outrage to take root. Feminism has nothing to say about sexual things forced on men.
And herein lies my problem with this entire thing. This story is just slipping into the background over the fact that when it comes to men, there seems to be little care in what happens to them. There is no outrage for Pitt. There are no think pieces about how toxic femininity has made women doing something we’d be furious with a man over pardonable.
If you’re wondering why people can’t take feminism or #MeToo seriously, this is why. It’s because when women do wrong — according to feminists who dictate what right and wrong is — it’s not wrong. It’s okay when they do it.
Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard seems to have California Sen. Kamala Harris’s number, especially since Wednesday night’s Democratic debate.
During the course of the night, Gabbard went after Harris on her record as a prosecutor and landing heavy blows on Harris’s seeming abuse of her power and treatment of minorities going through the justice system. It wasn’t a good look for Harris in the least, and Harris’s response wasn’t much better.
When given the chance to explain herself during an interview with CNN, Harris didn’t defend herself, but instead took a page out of a high schooler’s comeback book and made the case that she’s more popular than Gabbard so these attacks are expected. Harris then said she can’t take Gabbard seriously, claimed Gabbard was an Assad apologist and said she’s ready to move on.
The Hill later interviewed Gabbard to get her take on Harris’s comeback, and Gabbard had a good word to sum it up.
“Honestly, it’s pathetic that when confronted with the facts and the truth about her record that she claims to be proud of as a prosecutor, as attorney general of California, all she can do is lob cheap smears,” Gabbard said.
Gabbard said that Harris predicates her whole campaign on being a “champion for the people,” especially minorities, but that it’s “all a lie.”
“When she was in a position to do something about it, was in a position to make a difference and truly be a champion of the people, she furthered and perpetuated this unfair, unjust system,” she said.
Harris failed to respond to the The Hill on the subject, but Gabbard has apparently been making victory laps around various outlets, including Fox News and TMZ, the latter on which she repeated her stance that she gave to The Hill.
While Gabbard may now be the most Googled Democratic candidate after the strike against Harris, she’d be wise not to spend too much time aiming at Harris specifically. If her campaign becomes focused on one candidate, it will come off narrow and shallow.
It should also be noted that while Gabbard has people’s attention, it’s not equating to a bump in the polls for her. If she’s going to climb the polls at all, she should utilize this attention to come off as more of a presidential candidate than a scrapper.
During Wednesday’s Democrat debate, there was a moment where 2020 candidate, Hawaii’s Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, tore into California Senator Kamala Harris like a cat into tissue paper. It was brutal, to say the least, as Gabbard made Harris look like a massive phony when it came to criminal justice and self-aggrandizement.
Gabbard cited the fact that Harris laughed about smoking marijuana after putting away people for doing it for years. Gabbard also attacked Harris over withholding evidence that would have cleared a man on death row of guilt until she was forced to release that evidence.
Gabbard ended by saying that Harris owes the people she terrorized with her office an apology.
Joe Biden isn't the only one being attacked tonight. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard didn't hold back when she took on Sen. Kamala Harris' criminal justice record. #DemDebatepic.twitter.com/7eZE6v6ZHW
Harris was later given the chance to come back and explain herself in a post-interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN. I’d like to tell you that Harris was able to explain herself and shed light on the events that Gabbard highlighted.
She didn’t. Instead, she pulled a move straight out of high school and took the position that she was more popular than Gabbard and suggested that Gabbard polling at “zero or 1 percent or whatever” is the reason she went straight for Harris’s throat during the bebate.
“This is going to sound immodest, but I’m obviously a top-tier candidate, and so I did expect that I would be on the stage and take hits tonight because there are a lot of people that are trying to make the stage for the next debate,” Harris said during interview with CNN Wednesday night after the last Democratic presidential debate in Detroit. “Especially when people are at zero or 1 percent or whatever she might be at, and so I did expect that I might take hits tonight.”
“Listen, this coming from someone who has been an apologist for an individual, Assad, who has murdered the people of his country like cockroaches,” Harris told CNN. “I can only take what she says and her opinion so seriously, and so I’m prepared to move on.”

In summary, Harris has no comeback and instead resorting to being catty. This is the equivalent of resorting to mentioning someone having few Twitter followers in response to a legitimate argument. It’s not really a counterpoint, it’s just thinking you’re above someone for being more famous.
This is the height of elitism. Harris comes off more like Hillary Clinton here, thinking that her popularity and backing will just carry her through any roadblock she might come across.
It didn’t work for Clinton, and it definitely won’t work for Harris. This didn’t at all make Harris look better, only worse, but it did make Gabbard look pretty stellar.
There was a bit of ironic news that came out yesterday evening.
Rep. Elijah Cummings, who was criticized by President Trump for the condition of his district, had his house broken into on July 27th. Cummings was of course at the center of a firestorm, in which Trump was called a racist for pointing out the serious crime and poverty issues in Baltimore, which Cummings’ district includes the worst parts of. There was objectively nothing racist about the comments, but that doesn’t seem to be a prerequisite anymore.
Because this break in happened on the same day that Trump leveled his criticisms of Baltimore and Cummings, that led to some pretty wild conspiracy theories.
Here’s Joy Reid doing the “I didn’t say it but I’m saying it” routine, inviting the onslaught of crazy.
Apparently, Trump’s diabolical evil knows no bounds, not even those of time and space.
The ridiculous thing here is so many people running to a mindless, illogical conspiracy theory instead of just blaming the obvious, namely that Baltimore is a crime-ridden mess and not even Elijah Cummings is immune. This is a city with a murder rate higher than Afghanistan, and it’s not even close. Six people alone were killed last weekend. While Democrats were rushing to gaslight on how wonderful Baltimore is, those committing crimes didn’t take the day off because they never do.
This break-in is not some Watergate scheme to frame Cummings’ district, as some are stupidly suggesting. It’s simply the reality of Cummings’ district.

In this combination image from left; Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., July 10, 2019, Washington, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., March 12, 2019, in Washington, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY., July 12, 2019, in Washington, and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., July 10, 2019, in Washington. In tweets Sunday, President Donald Trump portrays the lawmakers as foreign-born troublemakers who should go back to their home countries. In fact, the lawmakers, except one, were born in the U.S. (AP Photo)
A small North Carolina gun shop put up a highway billboard which makes fun of “The Squad.” The sign shows photos of Democratic Reps. AOC (NY), Rashida Tlaib (MI), Ilhan Omar (MN) and Ayanna Pressley (MA) under a caption which reads, “The 4 Horsemen Cometh are Idiots.” Beneath their photos, it says, Signed, The Deplorables. Cherokee Guns 1 miles on right.”
Here is a photo of the billboard from Cherokee Gun’s Facebook page.
The shop decided to up the ante and posted a new message on Facebook:
Alright my fellow Infidels for Trump…due to OVERWHELMING demand…you may come by the shop (next week) and get your very own FOUR HORSEMEN COMETH STICKER…simple…eat a piece of bacon…tell us you’re voting for Trump in 2020…then get your limited edition bumper sticker!! (While supplies last!) Snowflakes and Liberals are not eligible…sorry…
Naturally, gun control advocates are up in arms about this billboard. They are saying the sign incites violence against the freshman foursome who claim they’ve “been receiving numerous death threats.” It compares the Squad to the “4 horsemen,” “a biblical reference that represents conquest, war, famine and death.”
Tlaib joined the fray tweeting, “How the hell is this not inciting violence?”
I would answer the Congresswoman by asking instead, “How the hell is this inciting violence?”
Some on the left are arguing that the sign is both racist and violent.
The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, for example, maintains that President Trump’s “racial rhetoric” is inciting violence.
On the group’s Facebook page, they wrote, “Disgusting anti-government violent rhetoric from Cherokee Guns in North Carolina, Threats against members of Congress, particularly minority members are [up] and it is driven by the president’s racial rhetoric. This is dangerous!!!”
Pressley apparently agrees and, in the tweet below, she calls on Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) to have the billboard taken down.
“You righties are just playing into the stereotype of your own making, aren’t you! You can’t go one day without looking like a bunch of fascist, minority hating a**holes who will follow your fuhrer blindly. I have yet to see a story or hear from a republican that doesn’t sound like Germany in the 40s.”
“This is really not a good look for your shop. Putting virtual targets on anyone’s head is just in poor taste.”
“Prepare to be put out if business, you racist piece of sh**.”
Others are just calling the billboard “racist,” because all four squad members are “women of color.”
The Democrats are trying to tie everything to race this election season. “Trump is a racist” is replacing “Trump colluded with the Russians” because that’s all they’ve got.
Ladies, we don’t mock you for your race, we mock you because of all the stupid comments you make and the political positions you support.

What Have You Got To Lose (Redux): Tactical, Operational & Strategic
By now, every sentient person in these United States is aware that President Trump (alleged by the left) made some “racist” comments about Representative Cummings’ district. This, in response to Cummings’ downright insulting harangue towards the Director of Homeland Security during a hearing on border security and migrant detainee conditions.
President Trump starting this past Sunday and continuing through the middle of this week, launched a barrage of tweets about the rat infested conditions in West Baltimore (Cummings’ district) stating the the Congressman might should focus on the squalor endured by his constituents, rather than telling lies about border conditions.
As this feud has developed, we’ve seen a host of sources, many of them liberal press and politicians, on camera stating essentially the same thing as President Trump regarding the conditions in Baltimore. In one instance, a liberal reporter is on camera roundly excoriating The President, when a rat photo bombs her spot by running past her in the background.
The President has clearly won this tactical fight. The Democrats can continue to scream “raayycciss!” all they wish, but Donald Trump owns this particular piece of terrain. All that remains, is to send the prisoners to the rear for interrogation, redistribute the ammo and plan for the next fight. That’s the tactical part.
The operational part is the election in 2020. Remember then Candidate Trump’s, “What do you have to lose?” to several Black audiences? As I pointed out in an earlier article, President Trump must (and likely will) visit Baltimore, San Diego, Detroit and a number of other Democrat run, third world, U.S. cities. While there, he’ll be able to point out that Representative Cummings has been in office since 1996…over two decades. Then he will pointedly ask, “What has Representative Cummings done for West Baltimore?” Next, he will point to a number of significant accomplishments of his administration. Finally, he will say again, “Try supporting me. After all, what have you got to lose?”
I discussed this with David Webb** the other day on his morning show. He added an important component. Republicans don’t need to go into Blue areas with the intent of changing party affiliation. “Don’t try to change folks from Democrat to Republican. Just help fix problems.” That will cause them in the privacy of the voting booth to vote their consciences. Party affiliation can come later.
But what abut 2024 and beyond? That’s the Strategic level that most folks don’t give the President credit for operating on. It starts with changing the rules. My colleague Kira Davis notes
The rules in 2019 are that if you’re White, any non-White person is unassailable regardless of their personal character or their personal responsibility.
But Donald J. Trump doesn’t play by these silly rules. The Squad Coven found out abut this. Shortly thereafter, so did Civil rights “icon” Rep. Elijah Cummings. Heretofore “unassailable,” he was indeed assailed by The President regarding squalor and corruption in his district. This is the single most important concept the Republicans who follow the Trump Administration need to learn if they hope to retain Congress and the White House past 2024.
It’s OK to fight back! It’s OK to fight back, even when your assailant is a member of a protected class. It’s OK to fight back, even when your antagonist is a member of a protected class and allegedly a “civil rights icon.” Here is why this is so important. Democrats cry “raaayyyccciiisss!” at the drop of a hat. Heretofore, Republicans scurry away mewling apologies. This doesn’t give time for the true story to play out.
In this latest case, President Trump pointed out what a third world crap hole Rep, Cummings’ district is. Democrats immediately threw the race card. President Trump, not following the weak kneed Republican playbook, doubled down on the attack. This gave time for the facts to come out…and they did. Within 72 hours it turned it that in some areas of Cummings’ district the conditions are so squalid and the violence is so prolific, that those residents could legally apply for asylum—in Mexico!
This is the strategic message for Republicans. Stop allowing leftists to intimidate you. Make your case and stick with it. It’s true that the Democrat lie will travel around the World before the truth can saddle its horse, but if you hang on, it will eventually catch up and prove you right. This has been the hallmark of the Trump Presidency. Take it to heart…for 2024, and beyond.

Mike Ford, a retired Infantry Officer, writes on Military, Foreign Affairs and occasionally dabbles in Political and Economic matters.
In May 2019, as lawmakers in Georgia and Missouri were debating and passing more restrictive abortion laws (and as Alyssa Milano was losing her ever-loving mind and threatening to boycott a state she rarely visits and in which no one likes her to punish the feeble-minded voters), freshman Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA) was one of the go-to Democrat voices on the topic, making the cable news show rounds discussing the topic.
While on the campaign trail Hill had emotionally shared her experience in facing an unplanned pregnancy and how she and her then-boyfriend (whom she married, but is now divorcing), both staunchly pro-choice, struggled with the decision before them, so she wasn’t speaking in hypotheticals. (Hill miscarried around the six-week mark.) In one of her media appearances discussing the Georgia and Missouri bills, on May 17, Hill explained to CNN’s Sunlen Serfaty:
“I felt like, ‘OK, this made the decision for me and it’s not meant to be right now,’ but at the same time, it is a loss. And I think even for women who terminate a pregnancy it’s a loss. I’ve heard that over and over again.”
During the interview, Hill announced publicly for the first time that she was no longer able to have children.
“She and her husband tried to get pregnant again later on, but she said she developed problems with her ovaries and can no longer have children. Even now, Hill thinks back to the pregnancy and struggles with whether she ‘might have missed that window forever.’”
Unfortunately, on the Republican side men like Texas state Rep. Tony Tinderholt were quite unhelpful in the battle to win hearts and minds with their tone-deaf and heartless comments and proposed legislation. Tinderholt’s bill:
“[W]ould criminalize all abortions, making it possible for women to be convicted of homicide and sentenced to death for having the procedure.
“He has previously said that his proposal would completely remove access to abortions and ‘force’ women to be ‘more personally responsible’ with sex.”
Many on the Republican “pro-life” side agree with Tinderholt’s tactic, believing that their extreme proposals will force progressives who are okay with post-birth abortion to see how ridiculous (and evil) they are. The biggest problem with that tactic is that these inhumane progressives are incapable of seeing how evil they are. The second biggest problem is that Tinderholt’s tactics drive away people who are more in the middle on the issue and now only see two crazy parties instead of one.
Add candidates like Todd Akin, who just don’t understand biology, to the conservative mix and, well, you almost can’t blame people in the middle for believing progressives when they say conservatives are mean, heartless, religious extremists who are dumb to boot.
One such candidate is one of Katie Hill’s GOP opponents, former fighter pilot Mike Garcia. In audio provided to RedState, which was recorded in late May, 2019, Garcia sounded eerily like Tinderholt when he characterized Hill’s comments about her miscarriage as Hill “taking credit for being lucky because of that miscarriage” and that he was going to beat her on the “abortion issue” by “hold[ing] her accountable for those types of words and those types of actions.” He further characterized a video in which Hill shared her story as “part of The Katie Hill Show.”
In this video Hill said (emphasis added):
“We’d been together for about a year when it happened. I was on birth control at the time, but I suddenly found myself pregnant. It was something that I never thought would happen to me, and if it did happen, I thought that I knew what I would do in that kind of situation. I’d always considered myself pro-choice, and I knew we weren’t ready to have kids….
“But what I didn’t know was what it would feel like to actually be faced with that kind of a choice.…In a lot of ways it was exactly because I was the only one who could make that kind of decision that I had never felt more alone.
“So I walked around in a haze for days. I just really didn’t know what to do. I thought that, you know, the rational decision should have been easy, but I didn’t think I could make it. I really thought that, you know, I was going to end up keeping the baby….
“Then one morning I woke up and I had severe bleeding and cramps, and I realized I was having a miscarriage. And I started sobbing with simultaneous tears of relief and sadness, and guilt at feeling relief and confusion at feeling sad, and just so much conflicting emotion, and just the reality of having — being faced with that sort of situation when you’re so young.
“No one can really understand what it’s like to be faced with that kind of a choice.”
Does that sound like a woman who’s taking credit for being lucky she had a miscarriage?
Garcia’s comments were in response to a question, apparently by a moderator, at an event, and can be heard here. The crowd’s reaction – fully supportive – was just as disturbing as his comments.
Here is the text of Garcia’s full answer (again, emphasis added):
“So, I’m pro-life. And honestly, the debate – and you can Google this. It’s still online, and if it’s taken down I’ve got it somewhere. I’ll find it.
“There was a debate back in Simi Valley back in September of last year, September 20th of last year….She was asked about abortion, and she started telling her history and how she had the unplanned pregnancy. She still talks about it openly, so this isn’t me digging up dirt, right. This is part of the Katie Hill Show again.
“At the end of her comments she said, “Fortunately for me, I had a miscarriage.” Can you imagine? She was lucky to have a miscarriage. And I don’t care how you feel about abortion, that was a life, and she was taking credit for being lucky because of that miscarriage. And that for me as just an average American and not even an aspiring politician at the time, I just choked on that, and I said I couldn’t believe that that came out of her mouth.
“And that’s the kind of thing that we have not held her accountable for. So when you ask how are we going to win? You hold her accountable for those types of words and those types of actions. There’s a lot of them. Go watch the Katie Hill show. Go online and look at all of her interviews that she’s done. There’s a lot of stuff out there that she’s saying that doesn’t make sense.”
This writer is in agreement with how Stacey Lennox at the Resurgent views the battle:
“Pro-life people of faith and secular pro-life advocates generally agree that this fight needs to put compassion and support at the forefront. And those of faith should be relying on the unending grace of God to heal and reform the hearts of women who find themselves in circumstances where they see no way out in a culture that has laid open a door to regret and heartache.
“It is up to the movement to win hearts and minds. And we are. The ghastly “reproductive health” law passed in New York State and completely shocking comments by Governor Ralph Northam in Virginia already have people who identify as pro-choice re-evaluating exactly what that stance means. Lulled into “Safe, Legal and Rare” during the Clinton years, many did not realize how far the Left had gone. People are waking up.”
They won’t keep waking up if people like Tinderholt and Garcia become the voice of the Republican party on the topic. Lennox continues:
“We have science on our side. The trends are on the side of life. For those of us who know that life begins at conception because the combination of mom and dad’s DNA creates a unique human being, no amount of abortion is acceptable. For those of us who also believe that every child is made in God’s image, a woman’s decision to abort is heartbreaking.
“But stupid battles like the one Tinderholt wants to have will just cause us to lose ground in the war. Don’t give the enemy cannon fodder. Make them look in the mirror. Just like Abby Johnson has.”
Instead of attempting to hold Katie Hill “accountable” for her words (and it’s still not clear what exactly he would hold her “accountable” for), Garcia is the one who needs to be held accountable and who needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror.
At the very least, Garcia needs to apologize to Katie Hill for his lack of compassion and humanity. No one – man or woman – has the right to pass judgment on another person’s heart or purport to have a roadmap to a woman’s complex emotions after a miscarriage.
Garcia’s comments also demonstrate a lack of judgment, a lack of discernment, and flat-out lack of preparation for the office he seeks. How could he honestly watch those videos and watch Hill choke up and believe she feels lucky? Is that how he feels about all women who have a miscarriage, or are only some worthy of his empathy?
If that’s the GOP battle plan for a pro-life future, just wave the white flag right now. The rest of us will be attempting to show kindness and compassion to our fellow Americans and find common ground.

As reported by the Big Apple’s Fox 5, Jahangir “John” Turan had just gotten the hat from Trump Tower Tuesday.
Apparently, MAGA headgear’s worse than a 5th Grade “Kick Me” sign.
And man, did the kids pile on.
If John’s to be believed (apply that to every point in this story), he got decimated by not one, not two, but around fifteen thrashers
Right there on dadgum Canal Street.
They smashed the 42-year-old’s head into a scaffold.
The gang yelled “F*** Trump” and opened up a giant can of political intolerance and you-know-what.
John suffered a fractured cheek. He’s uncertain as to whether his vision will ever recover.
At a press conference where he asked New Yorkers to help find the maniacs who pummeled him, he lamented the idiocy and incivility of This Pres(id)ent Darkness, even as The Donald does it up right in Washington:
“I love President Trump. I think he’s doing a great job. It’s sad to get beat up for wearing this hat. This is America.”
