BREAKING: James Comey Referred for Prosecution, DOJ Responds

According to sources, via The Hill, James Comey was referred for prosecution by IG Horowitz in his yet to be released report on the handling of the Trump-Russia investigation.

Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz’s team referred Comey for possible prosecution under the classified information protection laws, but Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors working for Attorney General William Barr reportedly have decided to decline prosecution – a decision that’s likely to upset Comey’s conservative critics.

Yes, you read that right. He was referred for prosecution but won’t be prosecuted because of a lack of intent despite the fact that the report itself is said to fillet him for his actions.

This is the same James Comey who publicly said he leaked the memos on purpose to get a special counsel appointed. Apparently, that doesn’t qualify as intent somehow.

As many of us have speculated for years, there will be no justice here because no one in D.C. ever pays for their actions. Comey is part of the protected class and is treated as such.

There is a chance the sources are wrong here about prosecution, but that’s unlikely.

Is AOC Suggesting Rioting Is Mandatory?

Westlake Legal Group AOCAPphoto-620x317 Is AOC Suggesting Rioting Is Mandatory? socialism Marginalized People Front Page Stories Featured Story Civil Unrest AOC

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., makes an objection to a Republican argument as the House Oversight and Reform Committee considers whether to hold Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt for failing to turn over subpoenaed documents related to the Trump administration’s decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, June 12, 2019. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

Our long national nightmare with the precepts of socialism — in this case that whole thing about civil unrest to affect change — doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon as New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has apparently given the downtrodden no other choice but to riot.

I’m not sure mandating riots is rhetorically what she meant to say, but, given her love policy proclivities, it may just be a Freudian slip of the tongue.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said this week during an appearance on Ebro in the Morning that marginalized communities have “no choice but to riot.”

“Once you have a group that is marginalized … once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot,” Ocasio-Cortez said about a half-hour into the 55-minute interview.

Her remarks came during a discussion of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but Ocasio-Cortez clarified that she was talking about marginalized groups more generally.

“I’m not even talking about Palestinians,” she said. “I’m talking about communities in poverty in the United States; I’m talking about Latin America; I’m talking about all over the world.”

Of course what Ms. AOC fails to mention — and possibly realize — is that marginalized communities absolutely have choices available to them besides rioting. She might look to Venezuela for proof of that. Despite change being slow to come there, they’re ready when Maduro finally accepts his reign is over precisely because they didn’t riot. They put plans in place.

Or even Israel post World War II (that one’s likely to be hard for her). They worked with allied nations to build a country in their ancestral homeland without destroying the region through rioting.

Or even this country say around the late 1700s; because whatever you may think of the Revolutionary War, it was a methodical undertaking and governing documents were drafted before the fighting began.

Of course explaining to Ms. AOC how irresponsible it is for a person in a position of leadership to offer only the hopelessness of riot as an answer to marginalization would likely fall on deaf ears. She’s been so steeped in revolutionary rhetoric it just falls out of her as an antidote to political unrest.

But the cheek it takes for someone sitting in a cushy job to tell other people to risk life and limb through rioting rather than choosing some of the other options available to them (what happened to this love of migration she mostly professes?), is pretty stunning.

None of this is to suggest there aren’t people in the world facing circumstances where it looks like rioting might be their only option. And maybe sometimes it is. But Ms. AOC has more resources to help people — she’s a sitting U.S. Congresswoman for pete’s sake — than simply encouraging them to put themselves in harm’s way for the good of the revolution.

But then perhaps making those suggestions is her own way of rioting.

It never fails.

Someone finds what they think is a juicy “gotcha” on someone they don’t like, and they throw it on social media to “inform” everyone of the “shocking” revelation.

It gets tons of likes/RTs/hearts, etc.

But oftentimes the “gotcha” is either not true or highly deceptive, not telling the full picture.

Such was the case this morning when a self-proclaimed “#Resist” Twitter user by the name of Akki tweeted out net worth figures for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in order to insinuate something sinister was behind the sharp rise in the numbers. Here’s what he tweeted:

As of this writing, his tweet has nearly 11,300 retweets and nearly 24,000 likes.

Liberal New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof saw the tweet and quote RT’d it, asking for comment from the Senator:

That tweet has over to 1,800 retweets and 4,300 likes.

The only problem with the insinuation that McConnell got rich from nefarious means is that it’s not true:

From that Snopes piece:

That influx was the result of an inheritance his wife received upon the death of her mother, and that information has been part of public discourse since 2014, when it became campaign fodder for McConnell’s Democratic opponent, Allison Lundergan Grimes:

[…]

Although the meme and the campaign ad upon which it was likely based were set up to make it seem as if McConnell’s wealth increase were the result of his role in the Senate and thus involved unethical or illegal activities, most of his net worth actually derives from his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who hails from a wealthy business family and married McConnell in 1993.

Instead of issuing a correction of his own, Kristof simply retweeted Howard’s tweet.

In contrast to the thousands of RTs and likes both Akki and Kristof received for their tweets, Howard’s currently has a mere 6 retweets and 39 likes.

To make the fake news even worse, neither “Akki” nor Kristof have deleted their original tweets.

Team Mitch roasted the columnist for it:

I’ve said it a million times: If you get something wrong on social media, don’t just amplify someone’s correction (or your own), delete your original post.

It’s what an honest person would do, anyway.

Trump Strikes Back At ‘Dumbest Man On Television’ Don Lemon For Loaded Debate Question

FILE – In this April 19, 2017 file photo, Don Lemon attends the world premiere of “Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives” at Radio City Music Hall, during the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, in New York. The New York Police Department is investigating alleged threats sent to CNN host Lemon. Police on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, said Lemon, who is black, had reported receiving “numerous threatening and anti-black messages sent to his Twitter account from an unknown individual.” (Photo by Charles Sykes/Invision/AP, File)

I thought CNN was doing a surprisingly good job at last night’s Democratic presidential debate until moderator Don Lemon asked the following questions:

To 2020 hopeful Beto O’Rourke, Lemon asked, “President Trump is pursuing a reelection strategy based in part, on racial division. How do you convince primary voters that you’d be the best nominee to take on President Trump and heal the racial divide in America?”

Next, he asked Sen. Amy Klobuchar, “What do you say to those Trump voters, who prioritize the economy over the president’s bigotry?”

As you might expect, neither candidate acted as if Lemon’s loaded question was at all out of line. It was as if Lemon had just stated a fact and both answered without missing a beat.

As the Russian collusion and obstruction of justice narratives lose their steam, the Democrats have pivoted to a new line of attack, “Trump is a racist.” And Don Lemon is one of its most enthusiastic promoters.

But this was a national presidential debate. It was not the appropriate venue for him to flaunt his highly partisan views.

Anyway, President Trump wasn’t too happy with Don Lemon and this is not the first time the two have tangled.

Trump sent out a tweet:

CNN’s Don Lemon, the dumbest man on television, insinuated last night while asking a debate “question” that I was a racist, when in fact I am “the least racist person in the world.” Perhaps someone should explain to Don that he is supposed to be neutral, unbiased & fair, or is he too dumb (stupid) to understand that. No wonder CNN’s ratings (MSNBC’s also) have gone down the tubes – and will stay there until they bring credibility back to the newsroom. Don’t hold your breath!

It is incredible to me that CNN continues to present Don Lemon as a serious journalist. He squandered his credibility a long time ago. Still, Lemon has remained one of the network’s primetime anchors and is even chosen to moderate a major debate.

CNN, the most trusted name in news.

Is it really any surprise that CNN’s ratings have cratered over the past year?

CNN’s Ratings Crash and Burn for Night One of the Democratic Debates

Westlake Legal Group BernieSandersDemDebate-620x317 CNN’s Ratings Crash and Burn for Night One of the Democratic Debates Ratings Drop Politics MSNBC Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story Elizabeth Warren dumpster fire Don Lemon democrats Democratic debates CNN Bernie Sanders 2020 election

Yesterday, CNN hosted the first night of the second Democratic debate. Given the buildup and the marquee matchup of Bernie Sanders vs. Elizabeth Warren, you’d expect they did pretty well in the ratings.

Apparently, not though. CNN lost about 45% of the audience that tuned in for night one of the Democratic debate that aired on MSNBC last month. That’s a colossal drop.

The first night of CNN’s Democratic debate in Detroit drew 8.7 million television viewers, a steep drop from last month’s event hosted by NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo.

The June event brought in 15.3 million viewers across the three networks on Night One, with 18.1 million tuning in for the second night, a Democratic primary record.

Things were even worse when factoring in online streaming.

CNN also announced that 2.8 million watched via livestream on the network’s platforms. NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo said they drew more than 9 million onlinestream viewers on the first debate night in June across their own digital properties, along with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Yes, that’s almost a 70% drop off.

I’ll note two things here. One, whatever CNN touches burns to the ground. Their primetime ratings have been a dumpster fire for a while now, falling well behind even MSNBC. They’ve tried shifting personalities around and hosting Democratic town halls, hoping to spark things. It hasn’t worked. I think it’s safe to conclude that people just don’t like CNN at this point.

Secondly, the interest level in the Democrat candidates for 2020 just isn’t there at the level the Democratic party would like. There’s a reason you aren’t seeing live shots from large rallies. That’s because there are none. While things are still early, seeing such a large drop off in the total audience for just the second debate is not a good sign for what most Americans think of the current field. Perhaps that’ll turn around tonight with Biden on the stage, but I’m skeptical.

Meanwhile, CNN continues to try to project itself as the big man on campus while they actually slip further into obscurity. They are now a distant 3rd among the cable news networks and are becoming less relevant by the day.

AOC Proves She’s Not an Anti-Semite By Aligning With Anti-Semitic Groups

(AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

Yesterday, I reported on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez directly endorsing the anti-Semitic idea of “white supremacist” Jews. The line was fed to her in an interview with “Ebro In the Morning,” where she agreed with the idea that the Israel-Palestinian issue is one of white supremacy and that Israel is “criminal” for simply defending their sovereignty.

The host continued, “There’s a lot of young Jewish people that I know that are absolutely against the occupation and I wanted you, because often on this program, we have the freedom to address the fact that something that you know people, it’s an oxymoron, how do you have white supremacist Jews? How do you have people like Stephen Miller? How do you have these individuals who are legit aligning with racism and white supremacy, but they’re Jewish and it’s something that most people can’t wrap their brains around. But it’s a real thing and what’s going on with Israel and Palestine, while it’s very deep, it is very, very criminal. It is very, very unjust.”

“Absolutely, and I think to where we’re at as a country when it comes to Israel-Palestine is very much a generational thing,” Ocasio-Cortez responded.

The entire notion of “white supremacist” Jews is a standard antisemitic trope that seeks to separate and delegitimize those that believe in the right for Israel to exist, instead painting them as diabolical oppressors manipulating their supporters.

In reality, Israel is held to a standard no other nation on earth is. In the normal rules of war, if you are attacked by every nation in your immediate vicinity like Israel was in 1967, yet you won that war, you’d never be expected to cede territory back to those that attacked. Despite that, Israel has ceded territory in bids for peace, yet they are still hounded as “occupiers” for not handing sovereignty to terrorist entities that call for their destruction and constantly perpetuate violence.

Even still, in the case of the Gaza Strip, Israel left it to the Palestinians over a decade ago. There is no occupation. Hamas controls everything while Israel only provides humanitarian aid in different ways. And how are they repaid? With more terrorism.

AOC’s understanding of the actual conflict and who is responsible for what approaches a five year old’s understanding of algebra. That is to say she has no understanding.

After receiving backlash for endorsing the above comments, AOC wanted everyone to know she’s not an anti-Semite though. To do that, she decided to go out and embrace a anti-Semitic groups insisting she’s not an anti-Semite, because I guess that make sense to her.

J Street is a rabidly liberal, anti-Israel front group that hides behind the claim of being a group that represents Jewish interests. Their only actual interest is in promoting the Democratic party. They support BDS, which even Nancy Pelosi admits is anti-Semitic. They are also one of the groups that defended Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic comments, because again, they are simply a mouthpiece for far-left views, not actual Jewish interests.

The worst would be IfNotNow though and AOC was quick to give them a shoutout and a retweet of their support for her.

IfNotNow is a group that promotes antisemitism from its members, as well as partnering with other outwardly anti-Semitic groups. They aren’t subtle about it. They do not represent the Jewish community in any capacity and for AOC to claim their support as part of a “wide coalition” of support for her views is gross. It shows she cares nothing for actually rooting out antisemitism as long as she can find some group that confirms her biases.

Given that AOC literally advocates for violence against Israel in the interview with Ebro In the Morning, you’d think maybe she’d reflect on that or clarify what she meant. Instead, she runs to groups famous for their antisemitism and parrots them as if they give her credibility on the matter.

The new generation of Democrats have scarily hostile toward Israel and Jews in general. Jews simply do not check their inter-sectional boxes and are instead seen as white, wealthy oppressors. Logical debate on the matter of Palestinian terrorism is off limits and even when the Palestinians kill a pregnant lady, the anti-Semites in “the squad” are there to promote Hamas propaganda.

Groups like IfNotNow and J Street are trying to mainstream antisemitism under the guise of Jewish approval and politicians like AOC are using them as cover to hide their own prejudice. It’s pervasive nonsense and a dark road to go down.

Pete Buttigieg Should Lay Off the Fake Christianity Before People Start To Notice

Pete Buttigieg by Gage Skidmore, licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0/Original

As has become so popular in the past several years, Democrat politicians with only a nodding acquaintance with Christianity have decided that it is a killer argument if they can throw a little Scripture out there and convince the Religious Right (to the extent that there ever was or still is such a creature) that not does the rando progressive pol understand the Bible, the Religious Right is a bunch of hypocrites for not going along with whatever policy the politician is proposing.

Last night it was the turn of Pete Buttigieg, who his fanbois like to call “Mayor Pete,” to lecture everyone on the immorality of not raising the minimum wage.

This is so much bigger than a trade fight. This is about a moment when the economy is changing before our eyes. There are people in economy who go through more jobs in a week than my parents went through in the lifetime. It’s why I’ve proposed we allow gig workers to unionize, because a gig is a job and a worker is a worker. We have to respond to these changes and, in addition to confronting tech, in addition to supporting workers by doubling unionization as I propose to do — some of this is low tech, too. Like the minimum wage is just too low. And so-called conservative Christian senators right now in the Senate are blocking a bill to raise the minimum wage, when scripture says, ‘Whoever oppresses the poor taunts their maker.’

There several different issues here. From the policy standpoint, there is zero evidence that raising the minimum wage actually helps alleviate poverty. A CBO study published in early July indicated that the $15 minimum wage would lift some 1.3 million people out of poverty while forcing an equal number from the work force. Left out of this study is its effect on job creation and the long term impact of preventing young workers, especially that 50% who doesn’t go to college or who gets a degree in gender studies, from getting an entry level job. Why $15 and not $25 or $50 an hour is another question the proponents of this stupidity refuse to answer. If, as they allege contrary to all evidence, there will only be minimal job losses, then we might as well swing for the fences and raise everyone’s income to “above average” (yes, there is a joke in there).

Policy aside, let’s look at the theology. Supposing the CBO is correct, which is the more just outcome, 1.3 million workers who are better off or 2.6 million workers with the dignity of a job and not living a life of dependency? While it might be more righteous for me to pay my workers more (more than what, I don’t know), it is certainly not moral for people who do not have any skin in the game to tell other people how to spend their own money. Not to mention the proof text that Buttigieg uses doesn’t even vaguely mean what he thinks it does. The word “oppress” has never been interpreted to mean “failure to pay as much money as Pete Buttigieg things you should so he can score cheap points among the stupidest of his fans.” Oppress has historically been interpreted to mean to treat severely by imposing hardships…such as high taxes and requirements for labor…upon them and by depriving them of a civic voice and education. The Proverb quoted by Buttigieg is virtually identical to the language in Exodus 2:23 which serves to put that word in context. The minimum wage law is not that. More to the point, absolutely no one is being forced to work for the minimum wage. My son works part time at Roy Rogers. He gets paid more than minimum wage. People make choices that end up forcing them into minimum wage jobs. If they don’t like a minimum wage job they are free to try to find another or improve their skills so they qualify for a better job. Personally, I’d like to see someone respond to Buttigeig with the Parable of the Workers (Matthew 20:1-15) but focusing on the punchline:

Did you not agree with me on one denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give this last man the same as I gave you. Do I not have the right to do as I please with what is mine? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

But the real point of this is that I find Buttigeig’s ersatz and situational Christianity nauseating and offensive. Here we have a man who is living an grotesquely immoral life. He is in a relationship that is in direct contradiction to the words of Christ:

“Have you not read that He Who made them in the first place made them man and woman? It says, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will live with his wife. The two will become one.’ So they are no longer two but one. Let no man divide what God has put together.”

One would think that a guy living a lifestyle that advertises he is, with some unknown frequency (we can be thankful there is no video), committing one of the four sins the Bible says call to heaven for vengeance, might be a little more circumspect about public concern over someone else’s soul and salvation. Perhaps a dose of “remove the log from your own eye,” or “physician heal thyself” might be in order.

If you are in a homosexual “marriage” you sort of lose the ability to criticize just about anyone over their public policy preferences. When you are living a life in public rebellion against God, you really don’t have the right to call anyone out on much of anything by using Scripture as the basis to attack them.

In the immediate aftermath of the left’s/media’s outrage over President Trump’s criticisms of Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD-7) and the inhumane conditions in some parts of his Congressional district, many conservatives pointed to similar remarks made by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in 2015.

Here’s what the Senator said at the time:

But just a few years ago, Sen. Bernie Sanders — a candidate seeking the Democratic Party’s 2020 presidential nomination — took his own shots at Baltimore, a struggling Northeast city grappling with high rates of violent crime, drug abuse, poverty and political corruption.

“Anyone who took the walk that we took around this neighborhood would not think you’re in a wealthy nation,” Sanders said during a visit to the city’s West Baltimore section in December 2015, the Baltimore Sun reported. “You would think that you were in a Third World country.”

The independent U.S. senator from Vermont also referred to Baltimore as “a community in which half of the people don’t have jobs.”

“We’re talking about a community in which there are hundreds of buildings that are uninhabitable,” he added, according to the Sun.

Watch:

He also tweeted about Baltimore in 2016:

Many conservatives wondered: If Trump’s comments had to be characterized as “racist”, why weren’t Bernie’s? Furthermore, why won’t the mainstream media ask him about them?

It’s a question that was echoed by GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Tuesday prior to the Democratic debate:

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Tuesday pressed CNN’s John Berman on why Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) hasn’t been confronted for once saying that parts of Baltimore resembled a “Third World country.”

“You have a great opportunity with your debate tonight to talk to Bernie Sanders about what he said about Baltimore. Was he racist? He was on CNN on Sunday and nobody asked him about his comments about Baltimore being a Third World country,” McDaniel said.

Watch her talk about this issue below:

To the surprise of no one anywhere, CNN did not ask Sanders about his Baltimore remarks at Tuesday night’s debate.

As Red State‘s Streiff wrote Saturday, in reality Sanders’s comments weren’t racist and Trump’s comments weren’t racist. They both accurately described the deplorable conditions that are an unfortunate reality for the Democrat-run city.

But because Trump is a Republican, which automatically = “racist” to the Democrat/MSM industrial complex, and because he’s not shy about clapping back when criticized no matter who is doing the criticizing, he’s the one who gets gratuitously slapped with the “racist” label. Because narratives and stuff.

Why Babylon Bee Seeking Legal Assistance Against Snopes.com Is Important To All Of Us

I’ve posted several times on my view that the Big Tech companies pose a real and present danger to American political life. Diarist Davenj1 has a piece that I put as featured earlier today that sort of sets the basis. The bottom line is that we have a small number of private companies that are not only crushing competition (albeit very smartly, they are employing the poker strategy of “buying the pot” to eliminate market entrants and they are giving enough free stuff to consumers that no one complains) but they are using their monopoly position to constrain political speech with which they disagree. And they are doing so while working under a legal get-out-of-jail free card given to them by a Congress that was, like with the no-tax-on-internet-purchases law, trying to help out a nascent industry.

The monopoly status of Facebook made it particularly vulnerable to legislative action when its preferred candidate, Hillary Clinton, did not get elected by acclamation and Facebook found itself at the center of the laughable allegations that the election was swayed not only by the Russians but by fake news stories not produced by CNN or the New York Times or Washington Post circulating on that medium. To remove this vulnerability, Facebook engaged the services of contract “fact checkers.” These contractors were given the writ to declare content to be “fake” or “false” and then Facebook applied the financial screws by restricting availability of that publisher’s content until the offending item was changed or removed.

Obviously, this is has the potential for all sorts of abuses. The current fact checker for Facebook, PolitiFact, has fact checked statements by politicians and proclaimed them to be false (see this silliness in which PolitiFact proclaimed Ted Cruz’s opinion that the Iran nuclear deal could faciliate Iran getting a bomb to be false even though it was a) an opinion and b) objectively true) and seems to fly top cover for Democrats like AOC. But the worst player in that arena, a player that would even make Media Matters look rational, is Snopes.com. Snopes started out exposing intranet hoaxes and urban legends. Then it branched out into protecting Democrats from criticism by labeling any criticism of them false. Lately it has been making more of an ass of itself than usual by fact checking the Christian and right-leaning satire site, Babylon Bee. These are the Babylon Bee stories Snopes has fact checked:

On the one hand, this is humorous and plays into a well deserved stereotype of the left. On the other, after eight pages of fact checks of the Babylon Bee, it is equally obvious that something else is at work that can’t be explained by abject stupidity. The game is to build a case that that Babylon Bee’s satire is so misleading–and so injurious to Democrats–that it should be banned from Facebook. In fact, because of Snopes, Facebook has actually warned Babylon Bee that it could be demonetized:

Things really got serious last week with this:

This lampooned Georgia state representative Erica Thomas’s now thoroughly debunked claim that a Cuban immigrant told her to “go back to her country.” In this one, Snopes let the mask slip.

While this real-world incident stirred up a good amount of online anger, it wasn’t quite outrageous enough for the entertainment website Babylon Bee,” Snopes said. “In an apparent attempt to maximize the online indignation, this website published a fictionalized version of the story, changing the location to Chick-fil-A, a fast-food restaurant known for its CEO’s opposition to same-sex marriage.”

Snopes called the satirical article, which obviously pokes fun at a real life event, a fictionalized version of the story. “The Babylon Bee has tried to fool readers with its brand of satire in the past,” it said.

Demonstrating a lack of objectivity, the article continued, calling the Babylon Bee a “ruse,” which literally means “an action intended to deceive someone.”

It’s editor, Adam Ford, was not amused in the least, read his response.

To be clear, this is a serious threat. RedState gets over a third of its pageviews from Facebook. I can only imagine that Babylon Bee is much more dependent. If it gets deplatformed, as is Snopes’s obvious objective, it would be out of business. It is also clear that other leftwing outlets are picking up the charge that Babylon Bee is deliberate deception and not satire. For instance, here we have Tater from CNN:

Babylon Bee is taking this threat seriously. My colleague Kira Davis posted on this earlier.

The stakes are being raised and soon Snopes, which is teetering on the edge of insolvency anyway, may have to defend its jihad against Babylon Bee and its efforts to use libelous statements to put them out of business before an actual judge. Because it is not only certain that they do not have the financial resources of Gawker it is damned clear that Gawker’s publication of the video of Hulk Hogan and Mrs. Bubba-the-Love-Sponge having monkey-sex was Pulitzer Prize stuff compared to the sum total of Snopes’s product.

It is hard, a the editor of an online publication, to understate just how important this step by Babylon Bee is. The advertising market for political websites is definitely more austere than it was ten years ago. Facebook is a huge driver of traffic and the fact that agenda-driven asses can cause you grievous financial harm by lying about you is galling. I really hope Babylon Bee has hired a vicious, spiteful lawyer who gets bonuses every time he drives a Snopes employee into bankruptcy. And if they start a GoFundMe to pay for a lawsuit, I’ll give everything I can afford to see that happen.
