Unhinged New York Couple Harasses Rand Paul in a California Restaurant

Liberals have a bad habit of harassing GOP lawmakers.

This seemed to get worse after Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) endorsed the practice, telling people to “get up” in the faces of Trump officials and letting them know that they were “not welcome anywhere” wherever people saw them.

Many Trump officials and GOP lawmakers have since been harassed in restaurants and other locations including former Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

On Friday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and an aide were confronted by a New York couple while in a California restaurant for lunch. Paul was in the area promoting his book, “The Case Against Socialism.”

If there’s anyone who knows about the crazy folks on the left behaving badly toward him, it is certainly Rand Paul.

Paul has been shot at by a Bernie Bro at during the GOP baseball practice shooting, a shooting meant to take out GOP lawmakers where 4 were wounded including House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA). A crazy man threatened to hack him and his family to pieces. And he was tackled by his neighbor who seriously injured him, causing lung damage and breaking six of his ribs.

This time, it was only an unhinged person losing it verbally at him, fortunately. But still a truly unhinged moment.

Sergio Gor, Paul’s aide, tweeted out, “While having lunch with @RandPaul in California, we got verbally assaulted by these aggressive libs complaining about incivility. Check out the vid! #unhinged.”

Warning for offensive language

“You just ran into two people from New York, kiddo, and we’re not putting up with your Republican bulls–t,” the crazy lady says.

Paul tweeted out the video, noting, “The left blames incivility on @realDonaldTrump. Watch this video and decide who the rude ones are… ”

What makes people think acting like this is alright? Or that it’s going to convince anyone to her way of thinking?

She certainly doesn’t do the left any favors by showcasing this kind of behavior.

But at what point are the folks in power on the left going to condemn this, rather than encourage it?

Clinton Attack On Tulsi Gabbard Will Drive People To Trump Says Congressman

Westlake Legal Group TulsiGabbardAPimage-300x153 Clinton Attack On Tulsi Gabbard Will Drive People To Trump Says Congressman Russia Michigan Justin Amash Front Page Stories Featured Story Allow Media Exception 2019

 (AP Photo/Paul Sancya)

The tangled web we weave is something to admire every once in a while.

As my colleague, Bonchie here at Red State wrote yesterday Hillary Clinton Attacks Tulsi Gabbard And Gets Absolutely Wrecked In Response it seems the lovely wife of Bill stepped in it. Badly.

Now, a fierce critic of Trump is saying that Hillary Clinton’s attack on Gabbard will help…..The Donald.

Say what?

According to the Washington Examiner

Rep. Justin Amash said that Hillary Clinton is helping President Trump’s chances at being reelected by calling 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard a “Russian asset.”

Amash, a 39-year-old Tea Party conservative who left the Republican Party over Trump, tweeted that Clinton’s comments were going to “drive many people into the arms of Donald Trump.”

“The thing we know for sure is that Hillary Clinton is a Donald Trump asset,” the Michigan congressman said late Friday night.

“Hillary does — and did — drive many people into the arms of Donald Trump. Her attack on Tulsi does likewise,” he continued. “In my district, Trump did worse than any Republican in modern times and still beat Clinton by a fair margin. Many Ds in the Midwest rejected her. I didn’t vote for either one.

Now, I have to scratch my head on this one and really think here. Hillary Clinton is a Donald Trump asset? Is this in the bearded Spock alternative universe on Star Trek?

Hillary Clinton attacked Tulsi without naming her but we know who she was talking about. Now, Hillary and Trump are not besties last time I checked. Tulsi and The Donald are also not on the same page on about 90% of things.

One of the few things that Gabbard and Trump have in common is that they have both spoken about America’s never-ending involvement in foreign conflicts and wanting to end them. I’m pretty sure that is also a stance that Amash has.

So people that are for Trump in that regard are already for Trump.

Tulsi Gabbard has garnered a lot of attention for this attack by Clinton and her well-crafted response to Hillary. I’m sure she will gain some new supporters, however, she is not going to be the Democratic nominee for President.

So unless she is, I don’t see how this drives people to Trump. Even then I still don’t see it.

People who dislike Hillary, dislike Hillary. I have seen no data that suggests that people voted for Trump just on the basis they hate Hillary. Trump won traditionally blue-collar states like Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin based on his take on how manufacturing jobs were going overseas or to Mexico. People disliking Hillary might have been a factor but it was a small one. The others who are just going to vote for a Republican over a Democrat are going to do that regardless. Just like they voted for Romney and McCain etc etc….

I know that I’m not a Washington D.C. insider so I’m going to have to have this conspiracy theory explained to me Seasme Street style because it is alluding me fiercely.

2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke (D) speaks on “The View” – 5/14/19. Screen grab via ABC.

Beto O’Rourke has been desperate to gain traction in the presidential race for the Democratic nomination.

He was supportive of abortion up to the day before birth. Shockingly, that didn’t do it for him.

He’s threatened to grab our guns. Oddly, that failed too.

But now, he may have really found the issue to raise him from that one percent plateau.

Feminine hygiene products.

He announced his support for the “Menstrual Equity Act” on “National Period Day,” saying “men need to join women in demanding real change.”

But as PJ Media observes, O’Rourke may be a little bit behind two other 2020 Democratic candidates, Julian Castro and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), in his pandering on the issue.

According to GovTrack, this legislation will “increase the availability and affordability of menstrual hygiene products for individuals with limited access, and for other purposes.”

Individuals. Because men have periods too! Duh! Beto may not have gotten that memo, but Cory Booker and Julián Castro did. They also tweeted about National Period Day, but didn’t single out women as being the only sex that actually needs menstrual products:

Bad Beto.

No word yet on the other Democrats, but can they be far behind?

Trump and Campaign to Sue CNN

Westlake Legal Group Trump-Finger-Point Trump and Campaign to Sue CNN media bias Media journalism Impeachment of President Trump impeachment Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story Featured Post donald trump CNN Allow Media Exception

Looks like President Donald Trump and his campaign have had just about enough with CNN.

After Project Veritas released several videos this week showing CNN’s focus on pushing impeachment, lawyers for the president and his campaign have announced their intent to sue.

The videos show employees saying among other things that they have been told to push Trump and impeachment over other news. Some despair that they used to cover news but now no longer do, with the sole focus being on negative news about Trump. One employee even said he didn’t think it would stop until Trump died which he hoped would happen soon.

From Washington Examiner:

In a four-page letter to CNN, Zucker, and Executive Vice President David Vigilante, Trump attorney Charles J. Harder cited years of anti-Trump bias at the network and claimed the cable giant has broken its promise of “excellence in journalism.”

Listing several examples from the just-released Project Veritas videotapes of CNN insiders describing Zucker’s demand for “impeachment above all else,” Harder wrote that they “are merely the tip of the iceberg of the evidence my clients have accumulated over recent years.”

He added, “Never in the history of this country has a President been the subject of such a sustained barrage of unfair, unfounded, unethical and unlawful attacks by so-called ‘mainstream’ news, as the current situation.”

Harder argued that while media certainly has free speech, CNN was violating the Lanham Act by making “misrepresentations to the public, to your advertisers, and to others” and not distributing “truly fair and balanced” news.

“Recently released video footage of individuals alleged to be your employees indicates that your reporting relating to President Trump is contrary to your own mission and the aforementioned Code of Ethics. Your own employees appear to state that CNN is focused on trying to ‘take down President Trump,’ driven by a ‘personal vendetta’ that Mr. Zucker purportedly has against him, rather than reporting the news in an objective manner,” wrote Harder.

Harder then gave notice of their intent to sue saying they would be seeking “compensatory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, reimbursement of legal costs” along with anything else they could get.

A CNN spokesperson called the threatened suit a publicity stunt.

CNN has a long history of biased and bad reporting when it comes to Trump. We should all be supportive of free speech. But we should also be supportive of good and objective journalism. From the President of CNN Jeff Zucker to White House reporter Jim Acosta, they’ve repeatedly demonstrated that they are not “reliable sources,” destroying a network that used to be a journalistic model. It’s long past time that they return to actual objective reporting.

Those Screaming the Loudest About Syria Hold Zero Moral High Ground, They Should Stop Pretending They Do

The situation in Syria has drawn a hot divide on the right between those who want us to rush in prevent Turkey from their incursion into Northern Syria and those who see the situation as much more complicated and volatile. Regardless of Erdogan’s thuggery, the fact remains that Turkey is a NATO ally and the PKK, along with their YPG sub-sect, are a terrorist group. That’s left the United States trying to juggle a decision between possibly sparking a war with Turkey or expending U.S. blood to protect a group that has carried out suicide bombings. President Trump decided it was best to not make a decision at all on that front.

As someone who’s been oppositional to our policy in Syria for a very long time, including our prolonging of a deadly civil war in a vain attempt at regime change, I tend to side with idea that it’s best we get out. There is no national interest in stranding troops in Northern Syria any longer and we have no solution to the decades long battling between Turkey and the PKK/YPG.

With that said, I have no issue with those who hold a different position. If one feels we should commit troops and confront Turkey, make that case. What I have zero respect are rantings like this.

This is contemptible on so many levels.

Why do I say that? Because people like S.E. Cupp were the ones cheer-leading our original policy in Syria of arming terrorist groups to try to remove Assad. That policy led to a civil war being far worse and longer than it might otherwise have been and well over 500,000 people dead. Does S.E. Cupp hold no moral responsibility for being so wrong about that? The shamelessness with which she and others like her carry themselves is just mind-blowing.

Right now, right-wing Twitter is full of people screaming about genocide (Turkey’s actions aren’t good, but there’s no genocide happening), yet almost all of those people were fully supportive of stoking a war that killed over 50,000 children that did not need to die. Assad being a dictator was not an excuse to propagate a ridiculously stupid foreign policy that cost an enormous amount of innocent lives. That stuff matters and these people don’t get to just pretend that didn’t happen while they scream shame, shame at Donald Trump. They hold absolutely no moral high ground on this issue.

Further, they do nothing to answer any of the tough questions facing us in Northern Syria. How long should we commit to protect a group designated a terrorist group? What happens if we are forced to engage Turkish forces? How many troops should we send? By what authority will the be sent, as they obviously don’t fall under the AUMF of fighting terrorism? There’s plenty of virtue signaling but very little answers being given.

The way you know these people, including Senators like Mitt Romney, aren’t serious people is because no one of them are demanding Congress declare war and pass a new AUMF to even make military action legal. Screaming from the sidelines is easy. Actually going on record is much tougher.

In the meantime, the rantings of people like Cupp not only don’t add up, they are morally reprehensible on their face. They don’t get to hand wave away their foreign policy blunders that have cost hundreds of thousands of lives while chastising those that disagree with them now as morally deficient.

Even then, I’m not suggesting in a vacuum that those blunders make these people evil or possessing the “blood thirst of the neocons,” as Rand Paul hilariously quipped last week. What am I suggesting is that they garner some semblance of self-awareness before they go accusing others of lacking morality in foreign policy over what’s currently happening Syria.

Shocking: California Power Provider Says Blackouts Could Continue For a Decade

Westlake Legal Group current-4501610_640-300x200 Shocking: California Power Provider Says Blackouts Could Continue For a Decade third world power PG&E Pathetic Newsom Front Page Stories Featured Story electric grid California blackout

Image by Kurt Bouda from Pixabay

The state of California continues its steep decline into anarchy as one if its main power companies, PG&E recently instituted blackouts affecting millions of residents. The company had been found libel for the destructive Paradise fires after an investigation concluded the fires had been caused by sparks from their above ground wires as they were battered around by severe wind events.

The lines should have long ago been put underground, but that wasn’t the extent of PG&E’s malfeasance. It has since come to light that executives have been kicking the maintenance can down the road for decades. There have been few upgrades and few routine maintenance checks for nearly 60 years while the company’s executives pocket huge pay-raises and profits. PG&E filed for bankruptcy in January after incurring $30 billion in libel costs. Over 100 people died in the 2017 and 2018 fires caused by their power lines.

Even after the blackouts incensed millions of Californians and became ridiculed in memes from across the country, the power behemoth is defending their move and now The Wall Street Journal reports that PG&E executives believe the “safety” blackouts could continue for much longer than expected.

PG&E Corp. PCG -0.89% ’s chief executive said Friday that it could take as long as 10 years for the company to improve its electric system enough to significantly diminish the need to pull the plug on customers to reduce the risk of sparking fires.

Bill Johnson, who joined the company in May, made the disclosure at a California Public Utilities Commission hearing where the panel’s president, Marybel Batjer, sharply criticized the company’s “inadequate execution” of a shut-off in which it turned off power to large portions of Northern California for more than two days last week.

The commission convened an emergency meeting to examine PG&E’s handling of the massive blackout, which left roughly two million people in the dark and created widespread havoc from the Bay Area to the northern reaches of the state. Several of the company’s top executives were summoned to detail the problems and take questions from regulators.

While Johnson reiterated that PG&E made the right decision regarding safety, he admitted that making the decision was not the same as executing that decision well. PG&E has to be better prepared than it was this time.”

Despite Governor Newsom calling for immediate accountability and residents all over the state outraged about being forced to unnecessarily go for days on end with no power, PG&E says they plan to move forward with future shutoff as they proceed to upgrade their power grid and clear fire-prone old growth from their 70,000 square mile service radius.

Worse yet, the company’s new CEO says the blackouts will undoubtedly continue for at least another decade.

Mr. Johnson said the utility is working to limit the scope of future shut-offs by trimming more trees and installing technology to enable the shutdown of smaller, more targeted portions of the grid. But he estimated it will take as long as a decade before its shut-offs will have “ratcheted down significantly.”

“I think they’ll decrease in size and scope every year,” he said. “But at the same time we’re doing this the risk is not static, it’s dynamic and it goes up every year.”

Already, PG&E is behind on several of its most important safety efforts, records show, including this year’s tree-trimming campaign, which is less than 50% complete. It also trails its peers in technology to track winds and isolate the areas where equipment is at highest risk of sparking fires.

Though the company warned of continued shut-offs, it is working to limit their duration.

Michael Lewis, PG&E’s senior vice president of electric operations, said the company, which previously advised customers to prepare for shut-offs lasting as long as five days, will work to restore power within 48 hours after initiating a shut-off.

“We now recognize that five days as a benchmark is unacceptable,” he said.

Unacceptable seems like an understatement. Can millions of Californians accept third world power grid conditions for the next decade? Due to their own corruption and laziness, PG&E obviously has their work cut out for them to get up to speed. Perhaps there’s nothing to be done about who has to fix it. But the Hoover Dam was built in five years. In the digital age, electricity is the most valuable currency. Taking a decade to bury power lines and clear out brush is pathetic and totally avoidable in the nation that sent men to the moon in that same length of time.

Hundreds of Fans Protest NBA and China at Nets-Raptors Game, Even Winnie the Pooh Comes Out

Screenshot from this video:

The controversy over the NBA and China has followed the Brooklyn Nets back home to the Barclays Center.

Fans are not letting them forget it and let their voices be heard at the Nets-Raptors game on Friday.

Hundreds of fans attended the preseason game wearing black shirts saying “Stand with Hong Kong,” carrying signs, “Fight for Freedom, Stand with Hong Kong” and calling on the NBA to be supportive. Some wore face masks as the protesters in Hong Kong do. At least two of the protesters wore Winnie the Pooh costumes as a way of mocking Chinese President Xi Jinping because he was supposedly upset that someone compared him physically to the cartoon character. There was also a smaller but quite vocal contingent calling to “Free Tibet” sitting in Section 1 diagonally across from the Nets’ bench.

Author Chen Pokong explained why the issue was so important, not just to folks from Hong Kong, but to Americans as well, saying that Chinese government incursion on speech must be stopped now.

From NY Post:

“We want to use our performance art to show our support for Hong Kong and the NBA,” one organizer, author Chen Pokong, 55, told The Post.

“They want to take away freedom of speech and now spread dictatorship to America,” he said of China.

“It seems like NBA people cannot choose their words. So if we don’t stop them, they not only will do bad things in China, they will do bad things in America.”

Hollywood producer Andrew Duncan, who was one of the organizers of the protest, blasted Lebron James. James had attacked Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey for a tweet to support Hong Kong. That was the tweet that kicked off the China controversy and demonstrated how much control that China seemed to have over the speech of American businesses and entertainment.

“Lebron needs to take time on this issue,” Duncan declared. “Why is he not supporting democracy? I think the King has made a royal mistake.”

The owner of the nets, Joe Tsai, who is one of the founders of Alibaba, has said that such issues of territorial integrity are “third rail” issues for China that are “non-negotiable.”

That may be true. But it’s their own treatment of the people of Hong Kong that turned a protest against denial of rights into a broader freedom movement. And it’s a “third rail” issue in the United States that our own government, much less foreign governments, don’t have a right to tell us what we can say or how we can think. And until the NBA figures that out, they’re going to hear more of it.

Alan Dershowitz BLASTS The Democrats Impeachment Theory

Occasionally you can come across someone who is a traditional liberal that you might not agree on social constructs with but does stay consistent on issues like impeachment. Professor Alan Dershowitz is one of these people in my opinion.

Dershowitz has been on occasion one of Donald Trump’s defenders in the media. He was one of the voices saying slow down on the rush to condemn on the Russia probe. His overall point was that even those that were on Trump’s orbit at one point were indicted on things, none of the indictments ever involved the reason for the investigation. Prof. Dershowitz was right on that.

He also opposed impeaching Bill Clinton in 1998 on the evidence the Congress had than.

Now he is urging caution on the Democrats rushing to impeach based on what we have seen publicly so far.

Just as a refresher, Alan Dershowitz is a lifelong Democrat and voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

In an opinion piece, Dershowitz wrote for The Hill

Many Democrats, including some constitutional law professors, now argue that President Trump can be impeached without evidence of high criminal acts. Some took the opposite view when President Clinton was being impeached. Hypocrisy aside, there are good historical reasons why the impeachment approach of the Democrats is wrong.

During the debates over the impeachment provisions of the Constitution, two differing views of our structure of government were presented. Some Framers argued that a president should be subject to removal by the legislature if he engaged in malfeasance of office or other comparable noncriminal misconduct. The other Framers took the view that giving the legislature such broad authority to remove a president would turn our country into the kind of parliamentary democracy that existed in England, rather than a republic with a strong executive branch.

That is why every advocate of impeachment should pass the “shoe on the other foot” test. Would you support impeachment against a president of your own party if she or he were accused of this conduct? Unless the answer to that question is yes, it would be unprincipled to engage in this process of impeachment taking place on Capitol Hill.

The very notion that with what has been released so far is enough to impeach is nonsensical. Dershowitz in the article correctly points out impeachment is a political process, not necessarily a legal one and should be taken up very carefully. That the Democrats running for President have all called for Trump’s impeachment is incredibly amusing in light of the “shoe on the other foot” theory.

Would any of them want such an incredibly low threshold to get impeached if they held the job?

Possibly the Democrats in their secret hearings that they refuse to let the public see will come across something that will convince America Trump has to be removed before the 2020 election. So far, they are being tight-lipped about what has been said in these hearings which leads me to believe they don’t have much and Adam Schiff once again sold Nancy Pelosi down the river.

I’m not going to hold my breath though that they find the silver bullet and Speaker Pelosi should look at getting better friends in Congress.

As reported by The Daily Wire, on this week’s episode of The Ben Shapiro Show: Sunday Special — that’s Nazi troll Ben Shapiro, by the way, who, according to a doctor, should be placed in a straitjacket (here) — astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson stopped by. I guess that would be, then, Nazi supporter Neil.

And the fan of the Führer had stuff to say about his latest book, in addition to offering a word or two on transgender sports.

Ben posed the following:

“Moving on from climate change, which is an area — as I said — where some people on the Right are not particularly interested, to areas where it seems like the Left is militating against the advent of science. One of those areas is the area of transgenderism, where the argument…”

Neil pointed out there are “no transgender letters” in his brand new Letters from an Astrophysicist.

Ben went on:

“It’s true — nothing in the book. We’ve strayed now far from the topic of your book. But since I have you here and you’re a science person, I’m going to ask you to science for me a little bit.

“[W[hen it comes to transgenderism, the argument that is typically made by gender theorists is that gender is entirely separate from sex. You’ve seen the argument made that it makes no difference, on average, if men are stronger than women are — that if we were to allow transgender women to compete with non-transgender women, then this would somehow not disadvantage biological women. This seems to me absolutely a-scientific, that if we’re actually gonna have a discussion about gender and sex, that [discussion] should be based in data, which suggests that mammals are in fact binary in terms of their sex, unless you have intersex birth defects typically, or genetic defects.”

Neil was happy as a pig in slop. Or something like that:

“I’m happy to opine on this. … So there’s the matrix of what you are biologically, how you express yourself, who you choose as a sexual partner. If we actually live in a free country as we tell ourselves, people’s freedom to behave in any of those ways should not concern you at all. Nor are they requiring that you behave that way. Okay, this is for their own freedoms because we live in a free country.”

The space man thinks maybe athletics should be parted based on hormones rather than sex.

Take it away, Tyson:

“Now, what is unresolved here is, what do you do with sports? It’s unresolved, and I’ve followed that closely. And I don’t see any — I don’t see any meaningful solutions to come down off of that. We know that hormones manifest differently in different people, and — that’s the whole thing with steroids, steroids are hormones — we rallied against steroids in professional sports because it gives you an undue advantage. So, I try to think of what the future of sports would be in the world of a gender spectrum, and it may be, you don’t specify whether it’s a male or female sport. You just take measurements of what your hormonal balances are, and so you compete based on your hormones. It’s a thought I had, I don’t know where it’s going to land.”

Ben wanted to talk tykes:

“So, you talk in your book about the education of children and teaching children about science. Right now, children are being taught about the quote-unquote ‘gender spectrum,’ which is not scientifically based. That is a theory-based idea.”

Neil for the block:

“No, wait, wait, wait, hold on. People express themselves on a spectrum, so you learn that.”

Ben asserted that’s an expression, not something related to science.

The older dude between the two dudes was interested in a different kind of fact.

Do it, deGrasse:

“So, whether the fact that people want to express themselves on a spectrum, on a gender spectrum, whether that fact is something you want to put in a sociology class or in a science class, maybe that remains to be determined. But it is a real fact about real society.”

But splitting men and women according to hormones is not, according to Neil fan Joe Rogan, a way to go about it (here).

The reason: Those hormones are coursing through a body —big, tall, wide-spanned one, in the case of a man. And that man has male hips. And male bones. And all that brick and mortar was transformed by male puberty.

The difference is so great, as Joe’s stated, that an untrained male’s reaction times are superior even to a professionally-trained female’s.

Neil is certainly right, of course — people do absolutely have the freedom to identify how they wish.

And despite the fact that expression doesn’t affect physical reality, the two are being merged right quickly — consider a medical form from a California doctor’s office. The document asks new patients their gender — Male of Female.

Then we seal our masks and point our fins toward the surface:

Which best describes the patient:

  • Identifies as a Male
  • Identifies as a Female
  • Female-to-Male
  • Male-to-Female
  • Genderqueer neither exclusively male nor female
  • Additional gender category or other, please specify
  • Choose not to disclose

If the patient is taking hormones, that is — of course — important to know, as symptoms from the intake or blood work results will be interpreted accordingly. But what’s the relevance of a patient declaring their “additional gender category” of identity, when medicine — like athletics — only concerns itself with biology?

If I’m my own original, never-before-having-existed gender, “@!#?@!” — named after Q*bert’s cuss word (and I believe the Q Man might also have his own gender thing going on) — how does the doctor differently care for my arm? Or my more difference-making parts? Is there a @!#?@! prostate check? Or a special mammogram? @!#?@!, both of those hurt.

But what do I know? I’m just someone eating a turkey and swiss omelet paired with high-pulp OJ.

Someone better traveled — Chelsea Clinton — knows differently than I, as she recently dished:

Chelsea also expressed delight at the National Health Service’s new policy of assigning single-sex wards according to gender identity rather than biology (here):

“How can you treat someone if you don’t recognize who they feel and know in their core they are?”

So take it from her — she’s the First Daughter. Or Son.

Or @!#?@!.

However she wants to identify.
