Dear Megan Rapinoe, Get Over the Fact That You’re a Gay Person With a Political Opinion and Stop Ruining This

It’s not worth caring about.

It wasn’t long ago that figure skater Adam Rippon and skier Gus Kenworthy were making it a point to make their homosexuality the centerpiece of their time at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

That they’re gay isn’t really a concern to myself or many others. What mattered is that we had athletes on the world stage and we wanted them to do their very best while they represented our country. That’s all we wanted to care about, but Rippon and Kenworthy wouldn’t let us. They, like you, made it political by launching jabs at VP Mike Pence. Before you, Rippon also declined to go to the White House in order to make a statement.

They forced people to take sides instead of letting us enjoy the global sportsmanship free of political taint.

I want to be clear. When I say “take sides,” I don’t mean gay vs. straight. I mean the overall political message that these men forced the public to answer in the negative or affirmative. That they were Olympians didn’t matter after that. They made their politics eclipse their accomplishments.

What mattered is that they took political stances that many people couldn’t get behind. That they were gay mattered very little.

Now we have you. Another gay athlete with a cliche political opinion that shouldn’t matter in the wake of your victory on the national stage. Sadly, you made it matter. You made sure it would matter, and instead of the world uniting to rejoice and celebrate what you’ve managed to help pull off, we’re now shaking our heads at your disgusting efforts to hijack something pure and uniting and making it into one more thing to fight over.

We watch as you step on the flag of the country that helped bring you to where you are…

You showed further disrespect by consistently kneeling during the National Anthem, essentially insulting those who died for and helped turn this country in a place where heroes can be made and success is far more easily attained. You do this, according to sources, in order to protest Trump, as if the entire country deserves your ire because of one man.

You feel like you’re making a statement and changing things. I’m happy to tell you that you’re likely succeeding, and you’ll likely push people away from your camp and right into Trump’s.

It won’t be hard to figure out why. Your childish behavior rings more like a narcissist with a grudge than a socio-political role model. What’s more, you’re not even original. Rippon already did what you’ve done in the impotent quest to move the public through sports-based LGBT protesting and, like you, failed to move the needle one iota in your direction. What’s more, a lot of your actions are just microwaved leftovers of what Colin Kaepernick already served up, and when his nonsense was trendy to do in the NFL, the league actually lost 33 percent of its audience.

It’s likely that world’s buzz around you will fade, and your divisive advocacy will go with it like Rippon before you. Using your status as an LGBT sports star with an axe to grind will be one more reason for people not to care about what you have to say. Again, it won’t be because you’re a lesbian, it’ll be because you’re beating everyone over the head with it and using it to draw lines in the sand.

Again, nobody cares that you’re gay.

I’ll write for you what I wrote in 2018 to Rippon and Kenworthy.

The bottom line is that being gay doesn’t make you special, it makes you gay. It doesn’t make you a cultural mouthpiece for the western world, nor does it make you a mouthpiece for the LGBT community at large. It’s a diverse crowd with diverse opinions, and I know too many who roll their eyes so hard at the behavior of people like you that their eyes nearly fall out of their sockets.

Outrage about gay outrage is old hat. You need to understand that we are used to it, and that’s all thanks to braver people who came before you. Outside of your ability to play sports well, you are nothing special, just one more blowhard patting yourself on the back for your identity politics while attempting to paint your political rivals as evil.

You’re gay. Get over it. We certainly have.

Census Bureau Data: Non Citizens Earn $9K More Per Year Than Black Americans

Importing cheap labor, documented or undocumented, has a real economic cost and it is black Americans who are the most harmed.

Anyone who has a basic understanding of economics knows about the Law of Supply and Demand, which essentially states

The law of supply and demand is a theory that explains the interaction between the sellers of a resource and the buyers for that resource. The theory defines how the relationship between the availability of a particular product and the desire (or demand) for that product has on its price. Generally, low supply and high demand increase price and vice versa.

Applying the Law of Supply and Demand to the labor market, the law of supply and demand means that the fewer workers (the sellers of their labor services) available, the higher wage employers (the buyers of workers’ services) must pay.

Conversely, when there are more workers than jobs, the price of labor falls.

This is how too many immigrants in the labor market (legally and illegally) can harm American workers.

According to U.S. Census Bureau data (in full below), it appears that black Americans are the most harmed by immigration.

In fact, the median income of “Non Citizens” is more than $9,000 than black Americans. Overall, Hispanics earn nearly $10,000 more than than black Americans.

Westlake Legal Group Income-and-Poverty-in-the-United-States-2017-e1562263162960 Census Bureau Data: Non Citizens Earn $9K More Per Year Than Black Americans US Census Bureau Politics immigration Front Page Stories Featured Story Economy Cost of immigration on Black America Cost of illegal immigration Allow Media Exception

“Claims that immigration enforcement equals racism ignore the reality that the group most likely to benefit from a tougher approach to immigration enforcement is young black men, who often compete with recent immigrants for low-skilled jobs,” noted the Los Angeles Times last year.

This dynamic played out recently at a large bakery in Chicago that supplies buns to McDonald’s. Some 800 immigrant laborers, most of them from Mexico, lost their jobs last year after an audit by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Cloverhill Bakery, owned by Aryzta, a big Swiss food conglomerate, had to hire new workers, 80% to 90% of whom are African American. According to the Chicago Sun Times, the new workers are paid $14 per hour, or $4 per hour more than the (illegal) immigrant workers.

While the fact that blacks earn less than non-citizens or Hispanics should not be construed as “anti-Hispanic,” in terms of economics, it does explain how immigration affects the Law of Supply and Demand.

Further, if politicians are truly concerned about erasing income inequality, the easiest thing to do would be to stem the tide of illegal immigration.

Trump Says ‘We Will No Longer Deal With’ The British Ambassador; Disinvites Him From Dinner With Qatar’s Emir

In recently leaked diplomatic memos sent to the British Foreign Commonwealth Office, British Ambassador to the U.S. Sir Kim Darroch delivered some nasty blows to President Trump and his administration. He wrote, “As seen from here, we don’t really believe this administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept.” In fact, it’s a real possibility that “his career could end in disgrace.” I posted about this story here.

The President spoke to reporters briefly on Sunday and said, “You know, we’ve had our little ins and outs with a couple of countries and I would say that the Ambassador has not served the U.K. well. I can tell you that we’re not big fans of that man… I could say things about him, but I won’t bother.”

On Monday afternoon, Trump reacted to the insulting cables by tweet. He wrote:

I have been very critical about the way the U.K. and Prime Minister Theresa May handled Brexit. What a mess she and her representatives have created. I told her how it should be done, but she decided to go another way. I do not know the Ambassador, but he is not liked or well thought of within the U.S. We will no longer deal with him. The good news for the wonderful United Kingdom is that they will soon have a new Prime Minister. While I thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent State Visit last month, it was the Queen who I was most impressed with!

According to Bloomberg, an administration official reported that Sir Kim had been disinvited from a Monday evening dinner party at the home of U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. The guests of honor will be President Trump and the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

A U.K. government official issued a statement that was cordial, but very direct. It said:

We have made clear to the U.S. how unfortunate this leak is. The selective extracts leaked do not reflect the closeness of, and the esteem in which we hold, the relationship. At the same time we have also underlined the importance of ambassadors being able to provide honest, unvarnished assessments of the politics in their country. Sir Kim Darroch continues to have the Prime Minister’s full support.

The U.K. has a special and enduring relationship with the U.S. based on our long history and commitment to shared values and that will continue to be the case.

The lack of warmth in the statement may be related to Trump’s frequent criticism of Prime Minister Theresa May’s handling of Brexit. She will soon be stepping down and Boris Johnson has the best chance of succeeding her.

Moreover, the Brits were unhappy with Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.

U.K. Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt told The Sun that it’s “possible the leak might be the result of a hack by a hostile government. Of course it would be massively concerning if it was the act of a foreign, hostile state. I’ve seen no evidence that that’s the case, but we’ll look at the leak inquiry very carefully.”

Trade minister Liam Fox said he “would offer an apology to Ivanka Trump during a meeting in Washington.”

The Washington Post’s Josh Dawsey tweeted, “Trump’s own team likes the ambassador and regularly dines and socializes at the embassy with him.”

Fierce Trump critic George Conway, husband of White House Counsel Kellyanne Conway, replied “Indeed they do. They never miss parties at the British Embassy. They love the ambassador, as does everyone else (except for a certain narcissist-in-chief). Frankly, the ambassador was being kind in his assessment of the narcissist-in-chief.”

No surprise there.

Finally, although this type of incident is rare, it is not without precedent. Fox News’ Gregg Re wrote:

British ambassdor Lionel Sackville-West was summarily sacked in 1888 for writing the so-called Murchison letter, which touched off a firestorm by indicating that Britain preferred Grover Cleveland over Republican Benjamin Harrison. (Republicans publicized the letter, helping Harrison win the White House.)

And in May 1856, President Franklin Pierce expelled John F. Crampton, then the British ambasador to the U.S., and several other British diplomats, following a lengthy spat over British efforts to recruit North Americans to fight in Crimea.

“It’s not entirely unprecedented,” Dan Drezner, Professor of International Politics at The Fletcher School of Tufts University, told Fox News. “When WikiLeaks released a trove of diplomatic cables, the Bolivarian leader of Ecuador expelled the U.S. Ambassador. Even in that case, however, the Ecuadoran government went through the proper diplomatic channels. A PNG-by-tweet for the leak of cables confirming mainstream media reporting of the Trump administration is definitely new.”

9 Democratic Candidates as Taylor Swift Lyrics

This time around, it’s the Democratic Party’s turn for a dumpster fire of a primary and, holy cow, are they delivering.

Although, as of this morning, there were 22 candidates in the field, they are mostly so generic that they’re difficult to keep straight. To help you remember who’s who, I’ve matched each candidate with his or her perfect Taylor Swift lyric.

Here we go, in order of popularity.

The Overall Democratic Field

Everybody here wanted somethin’ more
Searchin’ for a sound we hadn’t heard before
Welcome to New York

Joe Biden

As the current frontrunner (polling at 29%), things are looking pretty good for former VP Joe Biden. Then again, at the rate his own party seems to be trying to take him down, maybe he’ll just crash and burn. That left me with one perfect choice.

So it’s gonna be forever
Or it’s gonna go down in flames
You can tell me when it’s over
If the high was worth the pain
Blank Space

You probably won’t have to write him in a blank space, baby. It’s looking pretty good he’ll be on the ballot. Then again, it’s early days.

Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders is only a few points behind Biden at 23%, begging the question- will America really go full socialist? We all know Bernie only puts a D after his name every 4 years when he wants to make a run at the White House.

We also know that socialism has failed every time it’s been tried. Every. Single. Time. And failed miserably. With lots of dead people and the eating of household pets and zoo animals to stay alive.

Then again, we’re talking about a guy who took his honeymoon to communist Russia. He’s got a pretty skewed sense of a good time.

Still, Bernie voters thinks his ideas sound good and forget to think about reality. They’re like:

My mind forgets to remind me
You’re a bad idea
Sparks Fly

Kamala Harris

While Biden and Bernie are up at the top, Kamala is lagging quite a bit behind in third place with only 11%. A lot of her platform is about the idea that there are people who have things that other people want and that just isn’t fair.

She wants to spread that wealth- especially by bribing black voters with government goodies (paid for by you, the taxpayers). She says she wants to look into reparations, but has promised to spend $100 billion to help black families buy homes. Look what you made her do.

The world moves on, another day, another drama drama
But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma
And then the world moves on, but one thing’s for sure
Maybe I got mine, but you’ll all get yours
Look What You Made Me Do

Elizabeth Warren

Hot on Kamala’s heels is Elizabeth Warren, also polling at 11% (but slightly behind her in likely voters, putting her a spot behind). Remember the time Warren told everyone she was Native American, took a DNA test to prove it and…very much wasn’t? That was just one of the many times she was awkwardly fake.

Since then, we’ve been forced to endure livestreams of her drinking a beer (which appeared to be her first), interacting with her husband (which also seemed to be a first), and otherwise trying to act like the regular folks she hopes will vote for her.

In fact, being super phony is probably the #1 thing that differentiates Elizabeth Warren from a field with largely the same platform.

There I was again tonight forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired lonely place
Walls of insincerity
Enchanted

Pete Buttigieg

He loves to go by “Mayor Pete” to keep that down home Indiana folksy vibe, but he can’t wait to leave that behind and get to Washington, DC. He’s polling at 4%, so that’s not looking likely, but who can blame him?

He was mayor of South Bend, Indiana, a city with crime rates nearly double the national average, and I have a feeling he ca’t wait to get out of there. With his husband. Because I’m not sure he mentioned it, but he’s gay. When he leaves, he’ll be playing this song:

This is a big world; that was a small town
There is the rear-view mirror disappearing now
White Horse

Amy Klobuchar

What do we know about Amy Klobuchar, other than the fact she’s raking in 2% of the vote? Mostly that she treats staffer like garbage and once ate a salad with a comb. In the face of these revelations, she seems completely unrepentant.

I bet she identifies with this particular lyric:

They say I did something bad
Then why’s it feel so good?
They say I did something bad
But why’s it feel so good?
Most fun I ever had
And I’d do it over and over again if I could
It just felt so good, good
I Did Something Bad

Beto O’Rourke

I almost feel bad for Beto. He was the golden child of the Democratic party when he was up against Ted Cruz in Texas, and they made him think he could be president. Then, he ran for president, and they all turned against him.

Now he finds himself last amongst the candidates polling at 2%, and he’s starting to realize that the left that once courted him so vigorously has been talking about him behind his back. We know just what they’ve been saying.

I used to think that we were forever, ever
And I used to say, never say never
Huh, so he calls me up and he’s like, “I still love you”
And I’m like I just mean this is exhausting, you know, like
We are never getting back together. Like, ever.
We are never ever, ever getting back together
We Are Never Getting Back Together

Cory Booker

You know who else I almost feel bad for? Cory Booker. Everybody thought he was all cool and handsome and charismatic, and he’s completely fallen off the radar. He even randomly started dating a Hollywood actress and promised a White House wedding and is still polling at 1% (and he’s not even the top candidate at 1%).

It’s like T-Swift says:

And I know that it’s long gone
And the magic’s not here no more
All Too Well

Marianne Williamson

In the middle of the 1% pack, we find Marianne Williamson. Her Twitter feed is full of deep, meaningful, and sometimes inspirational quotes that one would normally find on an influencer’s Instagram.

Things like:

Don’t you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard.
Ours

Eric Swalwell

Today, Eric Swalwell became the first Democrat to drop out of the race. He was dead last in the poll, just above “other.”

I’m sure his staffers were thinking:

The more I think about it now the less I know
All I know is that you drove us off the road

And the 0% of people voting for him:

People like you always want back the love they pushed aside
But people like me are gone forever when you say goodbye

But few people are thinking the title of the song- All You Had to Do Was Stay.

Bonchie wrote over the weekend about how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA) was fed up with the BFF freshman squad of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Ilhan Omar (MN), Rashida Tlaib (MI), and Ayanna Pressley (MA).

In an interview she did with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, Pelosi downplayed the influence The Squad had on policy decisions made by House leaders, insinuating they were more interested in Governing by Twitter than actually getting things done in Congress.

In particular, the San Francisco Democrat was not pleased that the four of them banded together to vote against the border humanitarian aid bill.

Naturally, the Four Amigas were not happy that their childish tantrums were called out by the House’s leading Democrat, and three of them fired back on Twitter in response.

In the middle of all of their attempts at accusing Pelosi of being insufficiently woke, one Washington Post journalist attempted to step up to the plate in defense of the Freshman Four, suggesting that they had more influence on policy in the House than the Speaker was willing to give them credit for:

Tlaib retweeted Stein’s first tweet.

While Stein was praised by the Radical Four’s sycophants, he was also given a reality check by others:

While it’s true some of the presidential candidates are discussing AOC’s Green New Deal, it still is going nowhere – even if a Democrat does manage to get elected president. It’s just that several of the candidates running for president are desperate for AOC’s endorsement, and the quickest way they think they can get it is through signing on to some form of the Green New Deal.

Watch them say something completely different in a general election campaign, though. That’s how these things typically work. But in the event they don’t backtrack, Trump is going to have even more of a field day with them – which should make the presidential debates next fall a whole lot more entertaining.

The Antifa Boast of Arming Themselves and Federal Law Enforcement Does Nothing At All

In this photo taken March 15, 2017, AR-15 style rifles made by Battle Rifle Co., a gunmaker in Webster, Texas, are on display in its retail shop. The gunmaker is one of more than 10,000 currently in the United States. President Donald Trump promised to revive manufacturing in the U.S., but one sector is poised to shrink under his watch: the gun industry. Fears of limits on guns led to a surge in demand during President Barack Obama’s tenure and manufacturers leapt to keep up. (AP Photo/Lisa Marie Pane)

Ever since the early days of the “punch a Nazi” craze, I’ve warned that with a little bit of bad luck we could be looking at home grown American versions of the street fights between Spartakusaufstand and Freikorps in Germany of 1919. Individual and group behavior mirrors that of nations, when you start buying weapons and training in order to attack a specific person or group or country, the logic virtually inevitably leads to mayhem.

For reasons that I don’t understand at all, the mouthbreathing douchebags of the Antifa movement have concluded that a crackdown by Trump (aka The Worst Hitler Ever) is coming and they are arming an training in order to be prepared. This is from The New Republic:

Liberals are notoriously loath to take their own side in a fight. But their reticence may well be changing in an age of vigilante, white nationalist terror—openly condoned and supported by an incumbent president who has suggested that his armed devotees won’t stand for his removal from office. Increasingly, the antifa left is arguing—and training—in response. They are worried not only about an armed reckoning following a contested election, but also about rising violence from the paramilitaries loyal to President Donald Trump.

This is not alone, Vox.com had a story about how the left needs to arm itself:

Right-wingers have held an unearned monopoly on gun culture for too long. Whether it’s in the halls of legislative power or in the comments under “gun bunny” photos on Instagram, there is a prevailing narrative that pegs guns and armed self-defense exclusively to Republicans, racist libertarians, and other generally Constitution-obsessed weirdos. It maintains that those on the left want to take away everyone’s guns and swathe the entire country in bubble wrap. But I’m an anarchist, and I call bullshit.

I’m of the firm opinion that it’s time to not only arm the left but challenge the narrative that all leftists are anti-gun. Many are, and that’s a position I can understand and respect. But there is also a long history of armed community self-defense among the radical left that is often glossed over or forgotten entirely in favor of the Fox News-friendly narrative that all liberals hate guns. That’s simply not the case — though as history has proven, the only thing that scares the reactionary right more than the idea of losing their guns is the thought of us having them.

And they aren’t necessarily talking trash. A loose network under the umbrella of the “Socialist Rifle Association” has appeared.

Apparently, the FBI is investigating an attempt by these yahoos to buy firearms from Mexican drug cartels…probably the same one Eric Holder’s Justice Department sold to them during Fast & Furious.

There is this unintentionally hilarious piece in BuzzFeed about Antifa engaging in hand-to-hand combat training (check out the muscle tone of the “trainers” and tell me if you’d take their class).

I don’t take these people seriously as a threat but we are on a course that will inevitably end in bloodshed. The very nature of the Antifa–mob driven, cowardly, and weak–combined with firearms training and access preordains that it is just a matter of time before one of them opens fire during one of their bouts of street theater. Once blood is drawn, we will be into a tit-for-tat exchange until, again inevitably, civilians get killed. What would be really useful would be for the Justice Department to start treating these Antifa hoodlums like they did the Mafia and use RICO indictments to send them away for a long time and confiscate the houses where they live. It won’t happen, because the Justice Department and law enforcement apparatus has shown itself totally uninterested in the violent left an obsessed with guys like Randy Weaver and the Bundy clan.

Has The AFL-CIO’s Trumka Been Trying To Install A Hand-Picked Successor?

AFL-CIO Boss Richard Trumka was reportedly polling union presidents to determine whether they would back his hand-picked successor.

AFL-CIO Is Anti-Union from LaborUnionReport.com on Vimeo.

For a while now, there has been a lot of internal-union controversy surrounding AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka—from his alleged anti-union treatment of AFL-CIO staff and his controversial suspension of AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Tefere Gebre to the accusations from former AFL-CIO staffers that he his ‘arrogant’ and ‘ineffective.’

By all appearances, it seems as though Trumka’s days heading the nation’s largest federation of unions may be numbered.

The question is, will Trumka “retire” early, or will he last until the federation’s next convention in 2021?

According to a report in the Guardian, it appears that, if Trumka could retire early, he would—but only if he could ensure that his hand-picked successor, Liz Shuler, would take the helm…and that is not likely to happen.

“Two top union leaders who insisted on anonymity said that early this year Trumka and Shuler were asking various union presidents whether they would support Shuler to be the AFL-CIO’s next president. These officials said Trumka, the AFL-CIO’s head since 2009, appeared at the time to be considering stepping down within a few months to make way for Shuler, but only if there were strong support for her in the federation’s 55-member executive council, which is composed largely of union presidents.”

“AFL-CIO officials insist that Trumka, 69, has no plans to step down before the federation’s convention in 2021. Several officials said Trumka dropped the idea of resigning early after the presidents of three large unions representing nearly half the AFL-CIO’s 9 million union members indicated they were not prepared to support Shuler – or anyone else at this point. Those three presidents were Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers, Lee Saunders of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and Marc Perrone of the United Food and Commercial Workers.” [Emphasis added.]

Right now, the likely candidates to replace Trumka are either his preferred-candidate Shuler, or Sara Nelson, who is president of the Association of Flight Attendants.

Of course, by the AFL-CIO’s next convention–which follows the 2020 Presidential election–a different candidate may be the union federation’s frontrunner.

AOC’s Chief of Staff Fanboys for a Nazi Sympathizer Because Why Not

The controversy never stops and it’s not because it’s being invented. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is really just this terrible at everything.

After taking a comparison to Nazi collaborator Eva Peron as a compliment a few days ago and quote-praising the dictator’s wife, the general coziness with fascists apparently doesn’t just stop with AOC. Now her Chief of Staff has been exposed as fanboying over Subhas Chandra Bose, a man who was a Nazi sympathizer and supporter of Hitler.

When you add this to AOC’s treatment of Israel and Jews in general, it’s hard to continue to chalk this stuff up to coincidence. This all makes up part of a disturbing worldview that she and her colleagues in the fresh face caucus hold. It’s not just sheer chance that AOC, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar all have issues with antisemitism while they speak in support of figures like Maduro and the Palestinian Authority.

I’m trying to imagine what would happen if the Chief of Staff of a Republican was caught wearing a Nazi sympathizer on their shirt. I’m going to assume, based on past freak outs over far less, that they’d be going wall to wall coverage with it. But because we are dealing a Democrat who has the coveted inter-sectional shield of protection, this will likely not even warrant a mention.

The answer is a lot.

This also comes on the heels of AOC trying to appropriate the holocaust to push her insanely dishonest narrative about the border and illegal immigration. There’s apparently no level she won’t sink to and I can’t blame her. No one outside of the right pushes back on anything she does so why wouldn’t she be emboldened?

All of this has gotten so ridiculous that we essentially just laugh and joke about it at this point. But in reality, it’s serious. Having people in power who idolize such evil figures is a road paved in disaster. Democratic Socialism, which AOC and her cohorts claim to support, is essentially a mash up of the antisemitism of fascism mixed with the idiotic and murderous realities of communism. Perhaps one day our valiant media will wake up and realize that shilling for Democrats isn’t worth the societal cost be inflicted by the emergence of the radical left, but I won’t hold my breath.

“Air-Conditioning Is Sexist”: Woke Feminist Says #BanAC Should Become a Thing, Gets Schooled

We’ve hit that time of year when the “air conditioning is sexist!!” argument typically gets trotted out by woke feminists who firmly believe the patriarchy is behind the frigid AC temperatures they have to endure in the summer months in their offices.

This year’s example comes from Taylor Lorenz, who writes for The Atlantic. On Sunday, Lorenz tweeted out a fairly balanced piece on the debate from style writer Penelope Green at the New York Times. But while Green’s take on the issue was firmly on middle ground, Lorenz’s most definitely was not:

Because her tweet was getting ratioed, Lorenz moved on to her next link, which was a piece from May on the same issue by one of her colleagues at The Atlantic. In another tweet, she chided male colleagues for having the audacity to want to be cooler in the summer even if it meant the poor thing might have to cover up a little more in the office:

Twitter users promptly schooled Lorenz on some of the main reasons why men typically want it cooler indoors than women do in the summer. And after all was said and done, it was Lorenz who came off as the one making a sexist argument:

National Review‘s Charles C.W. Cooke got to the heart of the matter on why the #BanAC movement is all wrong and insufficiently woke:

There’s also the privilege thing:

As to the “gotten sick” complaint, well there’s a reason for that:

For what it’s worth, I’m with these ladies on this one:

This is anecdotal to be sure, but I’ve found over the years when working in office environments that reaching a happy medium with your co-workers usually works – in the coldest months of the year and the hottest. In the summer, if the guys want it at 74 and the ladies prefer it at 78, propose 76.

And bring a sweater.

This really is not rocket science. It’s called “working together.” Instead of trying to find fault in every danged thing, people should try taking that route instead.

Hillary’s Spokesman Praises the New Fab Four: AOC & Her Peers Define the ‘Moral Center of Today’s Democratic Party’

Many of you long — dare I say, ache — to hear more from Hillary Clinton, and I’d love to scratch your itch. But in this case, sorry — I can only offer her spokesman.

On Sunday, former Hillary mouthpiece Brian Fallon tweeted his support for the Woke Female Fab Four — Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, Omar, and Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley — on the Twitter.

Brian’s props came in the wake of Nancy Pelosi shrugging off the young faces of the Democratic Party as, essentially, social media fads.

Speaking to New York Times writer Maureen Dowd Saturday, Nance flung the following:

“All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world, but they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”

Ooh!

Moreover:

“If the Left doesn’t think I’m left enough, so be it. As I say to these people, come to my basement. I have these signs about single-payer from 30 years ago. I understand what they’re saying. But we have a responsibility to get something done, which is different from advocacy. We have to have a solution, not just a Twitter fight.”

Somebody’s puttin’ on some pants!

The remarks didn’t jive with a certain 29-year-old:

Unfortunately, the “change” she wants is socialism, a system in which the ultimate Big Business — government (which includes Alexandria) — has sole control of all products and means of production.

Some people think she’s goofy to be talking about the needs of the country at all. Like this guy:

But Brian Fallon thinks AOC is A-OK:

He may well be right — which is why, to some readers’ consternation — I continue to write about Alexandria.

She may seem like someone who knows nothing; but in classic pop-culture style, her knowledge isn’t proportionate to her influence.

And her influence — along with her 3 club members — in this case, concerned emergency border funding.

The House’s recently-passed $4.5 billion emergency border funding bill was voted against by the young ladies, who issued a statement of their opposition:

The press release referred to the CBP and ICE as “radicalized, criminal agencies,” “destroying families and killing innocent children.”

Given that, back to Nancy. I’d say it’s more than likely most of America would respond to her remarks thusly: Trust us; you’re left enough.
