Ted Cruz Has Had Enough Of Antifa, Calls For Mayor Of Portland To Be Investigated By Feds

Westlake Legal Group Untitled-1-1-620x396 Ted Cruz Has Had Enough Of Antifa, Calls For Mayor Of Portland To Be Investigated By Feds Violence socialism Portland Front Page Stories Featured Story antifa Andy Ngo

Following news out of the Pacific Northwest that Antifa had again been violent with those critical of their face-masked tactics — this time beating and “milkshaking” journalist Andy Ngo — Sen. Ted Cruz publicly condemned Antifa’s behavior on Twitter and called for an investigation into local leadership for looking the other way.

Under particular fire is Portland, Ore. Mayor Ted Wheeler who, following the assault on Ngo and others, was silent on social media. Many believe the Portland police have been unable to respond to Antifa assaults because they’ve been hamstrung by Wheeler.

Last year, Wheeler defended his decision to allow Antifa to block traffic and harass motorists at another Antifa protest — captured on video by Ngo — and essentially said it was Portland police’s decision not to intervene.

The video posted by journalist Andy C. Ngo showed protesters, including members of antifa and Black Lives Matter, blocking an intersection and attempting to direct traffic at while officers on motorcycle watched from a block away.

At one point, the activists chased down 74-year-old Kent Houser after he made a right turn against their wishes, pounding on his silver Lexus and breaking a window. The car sustained thousands of dollars in damage, he told the Oregonian.

The mayor has been accused of taking a kid-gloved approach to the protests that routinely roil the liberal enclave, such as the summer occupation of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building, which saw Portland police refuse to assist the immigration-enforcement officers unless they were in physical danger.

“This is the kind of street anarchy that routinely happens where I live,” tweeted Mr. Ngo.

Portland has implemented policies over the last several years that officers from neighboring communities consider “anti-police”, such as new deadly use of force rules that make officers involved in use of force altercations essentially suspects in a crime until they are cleared by an internal investigation.

Washington County, Ore. Sheriff Patrick Garrett ended a program in February that allowed his office to support Portland because he felt the liability risk was too high.

“If we’re engaged in a use of force event in the city of Portland the likelihood that costs are going to be significant as a result of that are just higher,” [Garrett] said.

The agency’s Senior Assistant County Counsel, Elmer Dickens, explained why in the internal email sent on Thursday.

In it, he writes, “the makeup of the Portland jury pool and the anti-police attitudes of many residents appears to have a large impact upon the DA’s ability to successfully bring charges against suspects that are injured in police use of force cases.”

Dickens also appears to criticize the way the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office handles officer involved shootings.

Dickens writes, “A policy of making every officer who uses deadly force become a criminal suspect in a grand jury proceeding is disturbing.”

Sen. Cruz — who also called on journalists and local police to accurately report the incident this weekend and to arrest and charge the perpetrators, respectively — seems to be alluding to some of these anti-police policies in pointing to Wheeler and asking that he be investigated.

Video: Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham Hurt During Scuffle With North Korean Guards

The new Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham hasn’t been on the job long, but she’s already making herself a a household name by physically confronting North Korean guards trying to prevent the American press from witnessing a historic moment.

According to Fox News, Grisham was slightly hurt with bumps and bruises while she was captured on video creating a pathway for the American press as Kim Jong Un’s personal guard attempted to stop them as Un and President Donald Trump met and shook hands across the demilitarized zone on Sunday. Reporters were calling it an “all out brawl.”

Thanks to reporters on the scene we have video of the altercation.

In the video you can see Grisham using her full body weight to push aside a guard. As she does she shouts “go go” to reporters who take the opportunity to slip past thanks to the gap Grisham created. As the reporters break away you can hear Grisham telling guards “no.”

Even Jim Acosta reported the news without spin.

Fox News reported that it wasn’t clear whether or not Grisham needed medical attention afterward, but I’m willing to bet that if she’s willing to engage in physical conflict that a few bumps and bruises isn’t going to concern her.

There’s currently no word as to why Kim’s personal guard was trying to stop American press from witnessing this event, but it wasn’t entirely successful thanks to one determined woman. North Korea is known for having everything coming in and out of the country on lock-down due to its dictatorial regime. Trump has been trying to see to it that war is avoided with the communist hermit kingdom after coming very close during the early part of his presidency.

After some back and forth between the two leaders, Trump and Kim have an vastly improved relationship, leading to this moment where a sitting U.S. president has stepped foot into North Korea. This has never happened before, and it’s a moment worthy of the press’s attention.

In Unbelievable Comments, Kamala Harris Endorses Forced Busing For Today’s Students

Westlake Legal Group kamala-harris-donkeyhotey-620x443 In Unbelievable Comments, Kamala Harris Endorses Forced Busing For Today’s Students ridiculous Politics Nonsensical media bias kamala harris Joe Biden Inter-sectionalism integration Front Page Stories Front Page Forced Busing Featured Story democrats Democratic debates Crazy

Kamala Harris – Caricature by DonkeyHotey, licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0/Original

If you’ve been following politics the past week, you’ve no doubt heard about the flare up between Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The happened at the first Democrat primary debate last Thursday night and it revolves around Biden’s opposition to a policy in the 1970s and 1980s called forced busing. Harris hit him hard, essentially insinuating racism on the part of Biden for being against the practice. This led to days of fawning media coverage.

The cliff notes version is that the federal government decided it was a good idea to force students to ride school buses for unreasonable amounts of time (sometimes an hour or more) under the guise of forced integration. A child living in a rural area, going to a rural school might end up riding into the inner city, only to end up back at his rural school by the end of the route. It was a nonsensical, widely opposed plan (by both white and black families at a majority rate) that punished students and only exacerbated the issues at play.

That means we need to re litigate it in 2019 because of course we do.

But because the Democratic party never stops becoming more radical, we can’t stop at revising history with unfair attacks on the matter. No, Kamala Harris is now coming out in favor of forced busing, not in the 1970s, but for today’s students.

This is absolute insanity.

Our schools are not segregated today, at least not in any way that the federal government has a role to play. Yes, suburban schools are more likely to be dominated by white students, but it’s not because of racism. It’s because of the freedom of choice to move to those areas away from the cities due to crime, cost, and hassle.

What’s even dumber here is that Harris is opposed to school choice. So she wants to force students to ride buses for hours on end in the name of forced integration, but she won’t just let a black student choose to go to the better school out in the suburbs. If Harris were really concerned about the racial makeup of schools, school choice is the surest way to rectify that and it would actually help students, not just see them riding around on buses for long periods of time.

Like most ridiculous liberal policies, this one is also rife with unintended consequences. What happens when students start doing worse in school from being exhausted after riding the bus for hours? What about the lack of sleep because the bus now comes earlier to make the timing work? What happens when a kid from one area is assaulted in another area they would have never been in except for forced busing? How do school districts that are already cash strapped pay for 2-3x the fuel costs since they’d no longer be able to plan routes based on efficiency?

This is the modern Democratic party. They’ve completely lost their minds. Any idea, no matter how stupid and unworkable, is on the table if it panders to the right group. Now, if it were another candidate, perhaps they’d get push back in the media. Harris checks most of the inter-sectional boxes though, so she’s being treated with kid gloves.

This woman can not be allowed anywhere near the White House. Everything she’s espousing would set the country back decades, from race to economics.

Canadian Cartoonist Who Portrayed Trump Playing Golf Over Dead Bodies Of Migrant Father and Child, Fired

(AP Photo/Rodrigo Abd)

Last week, a heartrending photograph of a Salvadoran migrant father and his 23-month old daughter lying face down on the banks of the Rio Grande, went viral. The pair had drowned on their journey to the U.S. border.

Several days later, Canadian editorial cartoonist Michael de Adder published a sketch (below) of President Trump playing golf over their dead bodies. It depicts the President standing next to his golf cart, club in hand, gazing down at the two bodies, asking, “Do you mind if I play through?”

De Adder’s cartoon immediately went viral on social media.

A couple of days later, de Adder tweeted that he’d been let go by Brunswick News Inc. “The highs and lows of cartooning. Today I was just let go from all newspapers in New Brunswick…I’ve got to admit, it hurts pretty bad. I’m a New Brunswicker.”

The reality of the situation is that de Adder had “technically been under contract to work for Brunswick News Inc., and wasn’t an employee who could be fired.”

The company published a statement on Sunday which read:

It is entirely incorrect to suggest Brunswick News Inc. cancelled its freelance contract with [de Adder] due to a cartoon depicting Donald Trump. This is a false narrative which has emerged carelessly and recklessly on social media. In fact, BNI was not even offered this cartoon by Mr. de Adder. The decision to bring back reader favourite Greg Perry was made long before this cartoon, and negotiations had been ongoing for weeks.

On Sunday evening, de Adder took to Twitter to share his side of the story.

But I will defend myself. And I will talk about why I think I was let go. It’s my perspective and they clearly have there perspective.

I do this reluctantly and only because I’m cornered. And I don’t know how it happened, but I feel my credibilty is on the line. And all I did was lose my job.

Does it matter if I was fired over one Donald Trump cartoon when every Donald Trump cartoon I submitted in the past year was axed?

It got to the point where I didn’t submit any Donald Trump cartoons for fear that I might be fired.

And Donald Trump doesn’t even matter. It’s a distraction from the big picture.

The Premier of New Brunswick Blaine Higgs is a former Irving Oil executive and any cartoon I drew that was slightly critical of him was systematically axed. You want to know why I was let go? I wanted to do my job as an editorial cartoonist, and they wanted me to do their job.

With this said, I had been giving the NB newspapers what they want for several months. Trump wasn’t on my radar. I work for canadian newspapers so there’s no need to cover Trump 24/7. And Canadian politics is quite interesting right now.

In the past 2 weeks I drew 3 Trump cartoons. 2 went viral and the third went supernova and a day later I was let go. And not only let go, the cartoons they already had in the can were not used. Overnight it was like I never worked for the paper. Make your own conclusions.

Wes Tyrell, president of the Association of Canadian Cartoonists, issued a statement on Facebook. He wrote, “Michael [de Adder] told me once that not only were the J.D. Irving owned New Brunswick newspapers challenging to work for, but there were a series of taboo subjects he could not touch. One of these taboo subjects was Donald Trump.” Billionaire J.D. Irving has considerable business interests in the U.S.

Tyrell pointed out that trade is an important issue for President Trump and this “affects the Irvings directly. And Trump punishes those who appear to oppose him.”

Tyrell concluded by stating, “Whether the powers that be in America would make the connection between de Adder’s cartoon and Brunswick News Inc doesn’t matter.
It seems that the Irving’s don’t want to take that chance. So they cut all ties…A solid reason why an oil company has no business owning newspapers.”

The Huffington Post reported that de Adder’s fans, including Mark Hammill who called this cartoon Pulitzer Prize worthy, were outraged by his termination.

Trump vs Acosta: the President Reminds Jim, ‘I Don’t Really Care About Offending People’

How about a Trump vs. Acosta story? Those are classic.

At the G20 summit Saturday in Osaka, Japan, The Donald — to put it in mafia terms — busted The Acosta’s b*lls and people laughed.

During a presidential press conference, the anti-reporter (here, here, and here) asked:

“And what is it with your coziness with some of these dictators and autocrats at these summits? With Mohammad Bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, when you were asked about the case of Jamal Khashoggi, you did not respond to that question in front of the Saudi Crown Prince.”

Trump:

“I don’t know that anybody asked me.”

Jim pushed, “Were you afraid of offending him on that subject?”

And here we go — Trump with apparent honesty:

“No, not at all. I don’t really care about offending people. I sort of thought you’d know that.”

Of all people, he should certainly know that.

People laughed.

Trump inquired as to how Acosta’s book was doing. Jim said it’s great. “Really?” he asked, sounding surprised.

The President followed thusly, as he gestured toward the other journalists in the room:

“I get along with everybody — except you people, actually.”

Trump’s surely right about one thing — he doesn’t care about offending people. It’s a trait I appreciate about the current Leader of the Free World: I believe I’m getting the real Donald when he speaks. I can think of many politicians — including a former president or two — about which that couldn’t be said.

What politicians do you believe? Who comes across as genuine? Who seems as fake as a bust of Beethoven?

‘Maybe They Should Dine at Home’ – Owner of Eatery That Kicked Out Sarah Sanders Responds to Eric Trump Getting Spat On

Last July, I covered the reopening of Lexington’s Red Hen restaurant, which kicked out Sarah Huckabee Sanders and stirred up a bunch of political dust and protest (here).

Well, the Hen’s laid another egg.

Bock bock BOCKA!

The joint’s owner — Stephanie Wilkinson — has come to the defense of a Chicago cocktail waitress who recently spat on Eric Trump. Stephanie has a message for Trumpers: If you don’t wanna be assaulted, don’t go out to eat.

Nice.

In a Washington Post op-ed Saturday, Stephanie started off okay:

“[N]o one in the [restaurant] industry condones the physical assault of a patron.”

Well, don’t say “no one.”

Her position promptly hugged a sharp curve and ended up here:

The rules have shifted. It’s no longer okay to serve sea bass from overfished waters or to allow smoking at the table. It’s not okay to look away from the abusive chef in the kitchen or the handsy guest in the dining room. And it’s not okay to ask employees, partners or management to clock out of their consciences when they clock in to work,” Wilkinson writes.

The high-profile clashes rarely involve one citizen fussing at another over the entrees. It’s more often a frustrated person (some of whom are restaurant employees) lashing out at the representatives of an administration that has made its name trashing norms and breaking backs. Not surprising, if you think about it: You can’t call people your enemies by day and expect hospitality from them in the evening.

Wow.

Here’s the exclamation point. As a bonus, Stephanie managed to work in that favorite emotional left-wing label put upon any given conservative principle or group — hate. Strange to accuse someone of such, given her message and behavior toward Sarah. Oh, well; feast your eyes:

So when the day comes that the world feels returned to its normal axis, I expect we’ll see fewer highly charged encounters making headlines. In the meantime, the new rules apply. If you’re directly complicit in spreading hate or perpetuating suffering, maybe you should consider dining at home.

So there ya go: If you’re conservative or a Republican, stick with Chef Boyardee. Otherwise, you’re liable to (rightfully) get slobber in your sauce.

How fowl.

AOC Attacks Ivanka Trump for Taking a Position Without Being Qualified. A Dam Breaks on the Internet

A bartender-immediately-turned-Congresswoman who, according to some, has yet to indicate any understanding of anything to do with economics, history, or government, may not be the best person to criticize someone for a lack of job credentials.

But Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn’t much for convention.

So here we go:

Ivanka Trump accompanied the President on his trip to Osaka Japan’s G20 summit. In photos with world leaders, there she was.

AOC wasn’t into it.

Therefore, this:

“It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification. It hurts our diplomatic standing when the President phones it in & the world moves on. The US needs our President working the G20. Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either.”

Talk about outdoing yourself.

I’m buckling my seatbelt for the impending mockery.

Here it comes…

Not everybody was against Alexandria. One user recognized AOC for the “scholar” she is:

So what’s the state of Ivanka’s resume?

As pointed out by The Daily Wire:

[P]rior to joining the administration, Ivanka Trump was an executive vice president with the Trump Organization and served as CEO of her own clothing and accessories empire.

So what about misogynistic Trump and shouldn’t-be-there Ivanka? Well, they teamed up for a little bit o’ this:

Still, they’ve got a long way to go…to make it to the Big Leagues of here:

There was a moment in the first 2020 Democratic debate when Cory Booker spoke Spanish. Same goes for Beto.

Oy.

To me, they were as winceworthy as Hillary Clinton telling an urban radio station she always carries hot sauce.

It was pandering with a capital “P,” for Pathetic.

In my opinion, nothing looks worse on a politician.

NOTHING.

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio took away a slightly different idea from Farticus Booker’s (here) indulgence in the worst politics has to offer: The dude’s hard-to-watch effort “sounded like Portugese.”

Rubio wedgied Cory at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference, amid criticisms of Democrats’ unwillingness to address problems at the border:

“Not one of them had an answer for what we could do to stem this tide. They don’t have an answer to any of this. A few of them answered it in Spanish, and I can tell you that they didn’t have an answer in Spanish, either.”

Good one, Marco.

Then:

“It sounded more like Portuguese, to be honest with you.”

Egregious Español notwithstanding, the most bizarre debate debacle so far — and when I say “so far,” I mean since the beginning of the Earth — remains Julian Castro’s attempt to pander to men with uteruses (?), by proclaiming their right to taxpayer-forcefunded abortions (here). That clip will likely live on for thousands of years. Or, at least, it should.

Meghan McCain Has a Message for Eric Swalwell & His Ageist Condemnation of Biden: the ‘Asterisk’ Needs to ‘Take a Seat’

Westlake Legal Group meghan-mccain-view-attitude-SCREENSHOT-620x323 Meghan McCain Has a Message for Eric Swalwell & His Ageist Condemnation of Biden: the ‘Asterisk’ Needs to ‘Take a Seat’ Uncategorized Front Page Stories Featured Story Allow Media Exception

[Screenshot from TheDC Shorts, https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=172&v=eHKwY3gzM5k]

On Saturday, I covered the list of 2020 Democratic candidates Bill Maher thinks should get off the stage (here).

Here’s a gong from The View co-host Meghan McCain.

During a conversation Friday on the popular overwhelmingly-left-wing daytime show, the fiery chick — who called Joy Behar a “b*tch” on the air June 20th — said White House hopeful Eric Swalwell needs to “take a seat.”

Meghan also affirmed he’s “an asterisk” in the scope of the election.

Hefty.

The ladies were discussing Eric’s comment Thursday that Joe Biden should “pass the torch to a new generation of Americans.”

Meghan didn’t like that.

The talkative daughter of Sen. John McCain is like The Hulk — don’t make her angry; you wouldn’t like her when she’s angry.

Here’s Eric’s remark:

“I was six years old when a presidential candidate came to the California Democratic convention and said, ‘It’s time to pass the torch to a new generation of Americans.’ That candidate was then-Senator Joe Biden. Joe Biden was right when he said it was time to pass the torch to a new generation of Americans 32 years ago. He’s still right today.”

That seems kind of mean.

Joy responded:

“So, it’s almost like calling him, so Gramps wants to run for president. I thought it was, like, really, you little whippersnapper? Shut up. You know? I don’t know. That wasn’t nice. That was an ageist comment. And pushing your way through because you’re young. Come on.”

Joy scores a gold star with me!

Ana Navarro seconded, reducing the 38-year-old California representative to symbol. But not cool like Prince did:

“It was a guy who is an asterisk in the polls, Swalwell trying to make a name for himself by doing something that was inflammatory, and it was very provoking.”

Then the show’s David Banner got in the mix. She pointed with swagger and attitude during the “asterisk” part. It was easy to imagine the “-terisk” part not being there:

“Did it change my opinion of him? No, but what I will say is Eric Swalwell with this ageist crap? I hate it. I work with women of all ages. I want experience and people who know how Washington works and who have served and had a life and experiences they can bring that to the White House, whoever that is. I thought Pete Buttigieg looked real young last night and real green, and Eric Swalwell, take a seat. As [Ana] said, you’re an asterisk on the end. Okay.”

I’d guess that many feel the same. The debate audience didn’t seem to appreciate stunning Eric’s lack of respect for his elders.

Bill Maher’s in Meghan’s camp. Here’s what he thought of Mr. Get-Off-the-Stage-Old-Man:

“Eric Swalwell. I like him. But, you know, too young. … Get the **** out.”

Joe Biden just can’t seem to help himself. The former vice president spoke at a Pride weekend fundraiser on Saturday in Seattle. According to the Seattle Times, guests had paid a minimum of $1,000 to dine at the home of public relations executive and gay rights activist Roger Nyhus and to meet the candidate.

Biden told the crowd that, as vice president, he was one of the first Obama administration officials to support same-sex marriage. He spoke about how far the country has come in terms of recognizing the rights of the LGBT community.

According to the Seattle Times, Biden said that “just five years ago, it would have been acceptable for a businessman to make “fun of a gay waiter.””

His remark was not received well by guests who called out, “Not in Seattle!”

It wouldn’t have been acceptable anywhere in the U.S. to make fun of a gay waiter five years ago or even fifteen years ago. In fact, why would anyone make fun of a gay waiter anyway?

Afterward he attended a second fundraiser at the home of former Microsoft President Jon Shirley and his wife Kim where guests had paid $2,800 each to attend. The host presented Biden as “the best candidate to beat Donald Trump,” and said he would restore “honor, dignity, compassion and honesty to the White House.”

The Shirleys are known for their fine art collection and their home is filled with paintings and sculptures. Following Shirley’s warm complimentary introduction, Biden said it was “great to be back in this great museum.”

How to win friends and influence people!

Here we are sixteen months out from the election. Biden has had a rough week. He spoke endearingly of his segregationist former colleagues, and Kamala Harris turned those remarks into a  club and used it to bludgeon him during the debate. Those comments, on top of his flip-flop-flip on the Hyde Amendment, just cost him the support of one of his largest fundraisers, San Francisco based lawyer Tom McInerney. According to FiveThirtyEight’s post-debate poll, Biden’s support dropped 10 points after his poor performance. And he just can’t seem to stop himself from making unforced errors.

When Biden was riding high last December, he said “I am a gaffe machine.” In reference to President Trump, he added, “But my God, what a wonderful thing compared to a guy who can’t tell the truth.”

Or maybe not.

Perhaps Biden was correct when, during the debate he said, “My time is up.”
