Why Have Democrats Ignored the Most Important Part of Trump’s Call With Zelensky?

Impeachment mania continued to dominate the national news this week. Democrats are telling anyone who will listen, “Trump threatened to withhold aid from Ukraine unless the country would agree to investigate the Bidens. He tried to get a foreign power to dig up dirt on his political opponent. Trump is unhinged. He’s vulgar. He’s doing tremendous damage to the country.” Their rhetoric, however, has conspicuously ignored the great white elephant in the room.

None of them have mentioned the “favor” Trump had requested early in his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. After Trump had congratulated Zelensky for his party’s victory in the parliamentary elections, Trump noted that member countries of the EU, especially Germany, were not doing enough to help Ukraine and suggested that Zelensky speak with them about it.

Then Trump abruptly changed the subject. He asked Zelensky for a favor, the only “favor” he asked for on the call. President Trump said:

I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say CrowdStrike...I guess you have one of your wealthy people…The server, they say Ukraine has it. There are a lot of things that went on, the whole situation. I think you’re surrounding yourself with some of the same people. I would like to have the Attorney General call you or your people and I would like you to get to the bottom of it. As you saw yesterday, that whole nonsense ended with a very poor performance by a man named Robert Mueller, an incompetent performance, but they say a lot of it started with Ukraine. Whatever you can do, it’s very important that you do it if that’s possible.

Clearly, this was a priority for him. Once that topic had been discussed Trump turned to the Bidens. He said:

Good because I heard you had a prosecutor who was very good and he was shut down and that’s really unfair. A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved. Mr. Giuliani is a highly respected man. He was the mayor of New York City, a great mayor, and I would like him to call you. I will ask him to call you along with the Attorney General. Rudy very much knows what’s happening and he is a very capable guy. If you could speak to him that would be great. The former ambassador from the United States, the woman, was bad news and the people she was dealing with in the Ukraine were bad news so I just want to let you know that. The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me.

One of the most intriguing parts of the Democrats’ reaction to this call was that they ignored Trump’s request for a favor to learn more about CrowdStrike, the American computer security company that performed a forensic examination on the DNC’s server after they claimed they’d been hacked. CrowdStrike determined that the server had been hacked by the Russians and issued a report stating their conclusions.

Oddly, the DNC had refused to allow the FBI or the Department of Homeland Security to conduct their own analysis of the server. The FBI was forced to accept the report from CrowdStrike.

Michael Mukasey, who served as Attorney General for the last two years of the George W. Bush administration, published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal last week. He had noticed another strange thing. On the same day Trump released the transcript of his call with Zelensky, the DOJ issued a press release which said that Trump had never spoken with Attorney General William Barr “about having Ukraine investigate anything relating to former Vice President Biden or his son or asked him to contact Ukraine on this or any other matter.” It also said Barr has had no contact with Ukraine.

In addition, the press release said:

A Department of Justice team led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is separately exploring the extent to which a number of countries, including Ukraine, played a role in the counterintelligence investigation directed at the Trump campaign during the 2016 election. While the Attorney General has yet to contact Ukraine in connection with this investigation, certain Ukrainians who are not members of the government have volunteered information to Mr. Durham, which he is evaluating.

The American Spectator’s George Parry believes the “reference to CrowdStrike indicates that the Justice Department’s investigation of the counterintelligence operation against candidate and president-elect Trump may be hot on the trail of exposing what could well be a seminal lie that the Democratic National Committee’s computer server was hacked by Russian operatives.”

Parry, a former federal and state prosecutor, tells a fascinating story. He starts with the timeline.

June 12, 2016: WikiLeaks announced they had obtained stolen computer files about the Clinton campaign.

June 14, 2016:  Two days later, CrowdStrike, which was working for the DNC, announced that it had detected Russian malware on the DNC’s computer server. The next day, a self-described Romanian hacker, Guccifer 2.0, claimed he was a WikiLeaks source and had hacked the DNC’s server. He then posted online DNC computer files that contained metadata that indicated Russian involvement in the hack.

July 22, 2016: WikiLeaks published approximately 20,000 DNC emails on the Friday before the start of the Democratic National Convention.

You may recall the emails showed that the DNC had their thumb on the scale for Hillary Clinton.

After Clinton’s defeat, her public relations director published an op-ed in the Washington Post. She wrote that during the convention, she had tried to “get the press to focus on … the prospect that Russia had not only hacked and stolen emails from the DNC, but that it had done so to help Donald Trump and hurt Hillary.”

The DNC, as mentioned above, had refused access to their server to the FBI and the DHS. What were they hiding?

In July 2017, President Trump received a letter from the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), “an organization of former CIA, FBI, National Security Agency, and military intelligence officers, technical experts, and analysts.” Parry explains:

VIPS has a well-established record of debunking questionable intelligence assessments that have been slanted to serve political purposes. For example, in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, VIPS courageously and correctly challenged the accuracy and veracity of the CIA’s intelligence estimates that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction and that he posed a threat to the United States. Similarly, VIPS has condemned the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” on suspected terrorists. In short, VIPS can hardly be described as either a right-wing cabal or a group carrying water for the Republican Party.

In its analysis of the purported DNC hack, VIPS brought to bear the impressive talents of more than a dozen experienced, well-credentialed experts, including William Binney, a former NSA technical director and cofounder of the NSA’s Signals Intelligence Automation Research Center; Edward Loomis, former NSA technical director for the Office of Signals Processing; and Skip Folden, a former IBM information technology manager. As the French would say, these are l’hommes sérieux, as are the other computer-system designers, program architects, and analysts with whom they investigated the Clinton-DNC hack story.

VIPS concluded:

First, VIPS concluded that the DNC data were not hacked by the Russians or anyone else accessing the server over the internet. Instead, the data were downloaded by means of a thumb drive or similar portable storage device physically attached to the DNC server.

How was this determined? The time stamps contained in the released computer files’ metadata establish that, at 6:45 p.m. July 5, 2016, 1,976 megabytes (not megabits) of data were downloaded from the DNC’s server. This took 87 seconds, which means the transfer rate was 22.7 megabytes per second, a speed, according to VIPS, that “is much faster than what is physically possible with a hack.” Such a speed could be accomplished only by direct connection of a portable storage device to the server. Accordingly, VIPS concluded that the DNC data theft was an inside job by someone with physical access to the server.

VIPS also found that, if there had been a hack, the NSA would have a record of it that could quickly be retrieved and produced. But no such evidence has been forthcoming. Can this be because no hack occurred?

Even more remarkable, the experts determined that the files released by Guccifer 2.0 have been “run, via ordinary cut and paste, through a template that effectively immersed them in what could plausibly be cast as Russian fingerprints.” In other words, the files were deliberately altered to give the false impression that they were hacked by Russian agents.

Thanks to the VIPS experts, the Russia-hacking claim — the very prologue of the Trump-Russia conspiracy story — appeared to have been affirmatively and convincingly undercut.

After the DNC denied law enforcement access to its server, the FBI — under James Comey’s leadership — meekly agreed to accept the findings of CrowdStrike, the DNC’s private cybersecurity firm, as to the server’s contents.  This was in lieu of the FBI’s using legal process (such as a search warrant or forthwith grand jury subpoena) to seize and search the server for Russian malware and evidence of hacking, even though, in testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, Comey conceded that “best practices” require “direct access” to the allegedly hacked computers.

In his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee in June 2017, Comey explained, “In the case of the DNC … we did not have access to the devices themselves. We got relevant forensic information from a private party, a high-class entity [CrowdStrike], that had done the work.”

Sen. Richard Burr questioned this. “But no content? Isn’t content an important part of forensics from a counterintelligence standpoint?”

Comey answered, “It is, although what was briefed to me by my folks … is that they had gotten the information from the private party [CrowdStrike] that they needed to understand the intrusion by the spring of 2016.”

The failure of the FBI and the DHS to inspect the DNC’s server looms large in the origination of the Russian collusion story as Parry explained above and it sure looks like Durham’s team thinks so too. It was a pivotal event. So, why really didn’t they insist on examining the server?

Fast forward to March 13, 2019. VIPS submitted a memorandum to William Barr.

They accurately predicted that Mueller would choose to “finesse” the key issue of whether or not the Russians hacked the DNC computers by relying on the purported analysis by “CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity firm of checkered reputation and multiple conflicts of interest, including very close ties to a number of key anti-Russian organizations.”

VIPS stated that “direct access to the actual computers is the first requirement” in any valid forensic analysis. The memorandum then set forth VIPS’ additional analysis of the WikiLeaks DNC files which revealed “a FAT (File Allocation Table) system property. This shows that the data had been transferred to an external storage device, such as a thumb drive, before WikiLeaks posted them” (Emphasis in original).

After explaining in detail the significance of the FAT system property, the memorandum then re-addressed the elephant in the room that the media and investigators were ignoring: “the apparent failure of NSA’s dragnet, collect-it-all approach — including ‘cast-iron’ coverage of WikiLeaks — to provide forensic evidence (as opposed to ‘assessments’) as to how the DNC emails got to WikiLeaks and who sent them.” Further to this point, VIPS posed this critical question:

Is it possible that NSA has not yet been asked to produce the collected packets of DNC email data claimed to have been hacked by Russia? Surely, this should be done before Mueller completes his investigation. NSA has taps on all the transoceanic cables leaving the U.S., and would most certainly have such packets if they exist.

Parry notes that “VIPS proved to be prescient. As with the seemingly feckless Comey, Mueller reported neither a direct access forensic examination of the DNC computers nor a query directed to the NSA for its intercepts of the purportedly hacked files.”

In summary, by denying law enforcement access to its allegedly hacked computers, the DNC conducted itself like a criminal suspect with something to hide. And, in the face of this suspicious behavior, the failure by Comey’s FBI and Team Mueller to conduct a direct access forensic examination of the DNC’s computers or to seek corroboration from the NSA of any hacking strongly suggests that they had no interest in getting to the truth about the Russian hacking story.

It appears that the words “favor, CrowdStrike and server” struck fear in the hearts of Democrats, who had hoped the Mueller report had put that subject to bed. And coming in the conversation as it did, even before any mention of the Bidens, told them it was indeed on the minds of Durham’s team and that they were actively investigating it. For the Democrats, Biden is expendable. Who knows, eliminating Biden from the race may have even been part of their plan given that he is considered moderate compared to the rest of the field. But the DNC’s claim that their server was hacked by the Russians to sway the election to Donald Trump is the root from which their entire narrative sprung. Sean Hannity would say that Durham’s team is “right on top of the target.” Democrats are terrified and they’re striking out in the only way they know how.

Democrats want to do anything they can to attack Trump and try to cloud the view of the facts.

Because they really can’t handle the truth. It’s the truth that’s going to do them in 2020.

It’s pretty hard to get around the great economy that President Donald Trump has ushered in.

The latest report shows that unemployment has hit an incredible 50 year low.

From CNBC:

The jobless rate dropped 0.2 percentage points to 3.5%, matching a level it last saw in December 1969. A more encompassing measure that includes discouraged workers and the underemployed also fell, declining 0.3 percent points to 6.9%, matching its lowest in nearly 19 years and just off the all-time low of 6.8%.

The rate for Hispanics hit a record low, while the level for African Americans stayed at the lowest number ever.

Those great numbers also pushed the stock market up. The Dow rallied more than 350 points after the report came out.

Sorry, Democrats, some of you who hoped a recession might hit and do Trump in, continue to be out of luck.

And even in the climate of Democrats, with the aid of media, throwing everything they can at Trump, his poll numbers are defying expectations.

In spite of everything, Trump’s numbers are the highest of the year at 49% approval in the Hill Harris Survey and Trump’s raking in record dollars in the third quarter, at $125 million, a lot of it from people angry with the whole impeachment charade.

Doubtless, they’ll pull out more stuff to try to throw at Trump, especially come 2020.

But it’s really hard to argue with success.

Especially when all your opponents have are tired old socialist thoughts

As the CNBC poll article accurately notes, Americans voted Trump in as the change agent.

And he’s delivering.

‘Flat-Out False’: Unlikely Source Calls Out Adam Schiff For Lying About Dealings With Whistleblower

(AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

As we all know, a broken clock is right twice a day, and in this instance the broken clock is none other than the reliably left-leaning crew at the Washington Post.

Glenn Kessler, the paper’s fact checker, surprisingly took House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff to the woodshed today for recent (false) claims he made stating his office had “not spoken directly with the whistleblower” at the center of the Trump/Zelensky phone call controversy:

“Have you heard from the whistleblower? Do you want to hear from the whistleblower? What protections could you provide to the whistleblower?” [Sam] Stein, an MSNBC contributor, asked on “Morning Joe.”

“We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to,” Schiff responded. “But I am sure the whistleblower has concerns that he has not been advised, as the law requires, by the inspector general or the director of national Intelligence just how he is supposed to communicate with Congress, and so the risk to the whistleblower is retaliation.”

The Post said Schiff’s response was “flat-out false.”

“Schiff on ‘Morning Joe’ clearly made a statement that was false,” the fact-checker said. “He now says he’s was answering the wrong question, but if that was the case, he should have quickly corrected the record. He compounded his falsehood by telling reporters a few days later that if not for the [inspector general’s] office, the committee would not have known about the complaint. That again suggested there had been no prior communication.”

Kessler also pointed out two other instances of Schiff being dishonest on this same question. One of them was during a CNN interview with Anderson Cooper and the other was during a Capitol Hill press conference.

As a result of his “flat-out false” comments, Kessler awarded Schiff with four Pinocchios.

Kessler, who I suspect has a mostly liberal audience of loyal Twitter followers, took issue with President Trump’s touting of the ruling, and made note several times of the fact that he had ruled similarly on some Trump claims as well. But his tweets sorta kinda missed the point:

I helpfully fact checked the fact checker himself:

Sometimes they make it too easy.

I get to gloat a little on this one.

Earlier today, I wrote on the news that the Trump-Ukraine “whistle-blower” was a registered Democrat. On its own, that’s somewhat telling news, but perhaps not overwhelmingly meaningful without more information. In my article, I opined why I thought CNN chose to report the story in the first place given their editorial leans.

Now, you might ask yourself why CNN would report this. The answer is simple. It’s called getting ahead of a story to help frame it. We’ve seen this over and over when damaging information that could possibly help Donald Trump is on the verge of being exposed. Instead of letting it drop, legacy news agencies run and get anonymous quotes to try to get the information out there while presenting it in the best possible light…

The goal here is to get the political affiliation of the whistle-blower out there early so that when more evidence of bias drops, Democrats can claim it’s old news and not relevant to the complaint.

Games are being played here. Don’t be fooled.

Like clockwork, we’ve now got more information on the bias of the whistle-blower and I was exactly right. Not only was a he registered Democrat, the guy worked on the campaign of a current 2020 candidate.

Given that this likely occurred some years ago before this person became a CIA agent, the most likely answer is that it was on one of Joe Biden’s campaigns or possibly under Biden during the Obama campaign. We had already heard rumors that the ICIG found bias toward Biden and this latest revelation drops everything into to place.

In short, we have a registered Democrat that worked for a Democrat presidential candidate, who went to Adam Schiff first, and we are supposed to believe this is all on the up and up? Yeah, I’m gonna go with a no on that one. The complaint itself has continues to fall apart, and even though he got some details of the call correct, none of his most salacious allegations have been shown to be true. If that sounds a lot like the Steele dossier, congrats on being more perceptive than all of the legacy media.

Report: Whistleblower Did Not Inform ICIG About Contacts With Schiff, Which May Have Been a Felony

Westlake Legal Group schiff-mtp-nunes-e1529278157928 Report: Whistleblower Did Not Inform ICIG About Contacts With Schiff, Which May Have Been a Felony whistleblower Ukraine Call Ukraine Front Page Stories Front Page Featured Story Featured Post democrats Congress Allow Media Exception

A lot of information is coming out now which is effectively destroying the credibility of the complaint of the Ukraine whistleblower, from the knowledge that the whistleblower had contacts with Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) while Schiff was saying publicly that he had no contacts, to the Volker testimony that was just released completely blowing the claims in the complaint out of the water.

We also found out the person is, big surprise, a registered Democrat.

But now there’s more information and it may spell big trouble for the whistleblower, if true.

    From The Federalist:

According to Fox News investigative reporter Catherine Herridge, ICIG Michael Atkinson testified before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) that the anti-Trump complainant, whose identity has not been made public, did not inform the ICIG in his complaint that he or his team had already contacted Democratic staff working for Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the chairman of the House intelligence committee.

Another contact involved the whistleblower writing a letter to Schiff on August 12, informing him about his concerns. The letter contained an attachment which has not been released. But the complaint was allegedly dated August 12.

The Federalist explains why this failure is such a problem:

The complainant’s failure to disclose his interactions with Schiff or his staff could put him in legal hot water, as the whistleblower form he submitted requires individuals to disclose “other actions you are taking on your disclosure” under penalty of perjury. An entire page of the whistleblower form is dedicated to collecting information about previous disclosures so the ICIG can take appropriate action in response to the complaint.

“I have previously disclosed (or am disclosing) the violations alleged here to (complete all that apply),” the form requires the complainant to attest. The form includes checkboxes for disclosures to other inspectors general, other agencies, the Department of Justice, the Government Accountability Office, the Office of Special Counsel, other executive branch departments, Congress and its respective committees, and media. It also includes a separate question asking the complainant to detail those previous disclosures to the ICIG.

The bottom of the form requires the complainant to swear to the truth of everything asserted or the person could face prosecution for a false statement, a felony that could earn one five years in prison.

The Federalist confirmed with an official that the box about notifying Congress was left empty.

It is not clear exactly when the contact with the aide was made or whether there were potentially other contacts. But the contact with the aide, who told the whistleblower to go the ICIG obviously preceded filling out the form for the ICIG, hence the problem.

In addition to trying to strong-arm cable news outlets into suppressing the Hunter Biden angle of the Ukraine story, Joe Biden is now refusing to answer certain questions about it during press conferences.

The embattled 2020 Democratic candidate was in Los Angeles today for a labor union summit and while there took some questions from reporters about his campaign and, of course, Trump and the Ukraine issue.

One exchange he had with a reporter was particularly intense, and it was in regards to his role during the Obama administration overseeing United States policy towards Ukraine while his son Hunter was a board member for a Ukrainian gas company.

The reporter got straight to the point. “How was your role as vice president in charge of policy in Ukraine and your son’s job in Ukraine – how is that not a conflict of interest?”

“It’s not a conflict of interest,” Biden emphatically responded. “There’s been no indication of any conflict of interest from Ukraine or anywhere else. Period.”

As the reporter attempted to interject and ask about even the appearance of a conflict of interest, Biden shut him down.

“I’m not going to respond to that,” Biden yelled. “Let’s focus on the problem. Focus on this man, what he’s doing, that no president has ever done. No president,” Biden loudly continued while aggressively pointing his finger at the questioner.

    Watch:

During the same press conference, Biden was asked about the golf photo of himself, his son, and a Ukrainian gas company executive shown in the now-deleted Nickelback video Trump shared on Twitter earlier this week, and whether he stood by the statement that he never discussed his son’s business dealings overseas. He says he stands by it:

How long before he stops answering questions on the issue altogether? Will media firefighter Brian Stelter condemn Biden’s latest verbal assault on the media? Stay tuned….

So how’s the recently-released book on much-hated/much-loved Brett Kavanaugh doing?

Firstly, there appears to be some missing information, as observed by Fox News:

The…book, titled The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation, faced a bumpy road at the outset as its authors faced criticism for not including what many saw as critical information about a sexual misconduct allegation they relayed in an excerpt published by The New York Times.

As for the sales report, well, it ain’t so good:

(NYT) writers Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly saw just over 2,000 copies sold in the week it debuted mid-September, market research data revealed. The data came from the NPD Group’s BookScan tracker, which covers about 80 percent to 85 percent of print sales.

The slump might certainly be attributed to the public’s hopes to never, ever hear about the hubbub again, given the climax of madness during Brett’s confirmation hearings (here and here).

Somehow, certain groups reached the fever pitch of insisting that all women should always be believed in all circumstances about all things. The hysteria even came with nonsensical phrases such as “Believe All Victims”: Of course, victims should be believed; but you first must determine whether they’re victims. Therefore, investigation must precede surety.

But not in that moment of madness.

So are the no-good numbers due to disinterest? Not if another book is any indication — one that was, incidentally, written by Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway and Judicial Crisis Network Chief Counsel Carrie Severino.

Justice on Trial has trounced the other Brettfest:

In the first week after publishing Justice on Trial, the book saw more than 17,000 book sales and it eventually reached multiple bestseller lists. Justice on Trial sales slowly declined to roughly 1,700  around the time The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation was released. But by the second week of publication for that book, it had already fallen behind Justice on Trial in weekly sales.

As of the week of Sept. 22 – 28, Hemingway and Severino sold more than 55,000 copies and enjoyed 15 weeks ranked among Amazon’s top 10 selling books. That included two weeks as No. 1 and four weeks as No. 2. By contrast, The Education of Brett Kavanaugh ranked 68th on Amazon after its release and quickly dropped to 168th in the following week.

Regnery Publishing, which released Justice on Trial, told Fox News that it sold over 100,000 copies in ebook, print and audio formats.

Looks like Donald Trump has an opinion as to why the new book’s done so poorly:

“I call for the Resignation of everybody at The New York Times involved in the Kavanaugh SMEAR story, and while you’re at it, the Russian Witch Hunt Hoax, which is just as phony! They’ve taken the Old Grey Lady and broken her down, destroyed her virtue and ruined her reputation… She can never recover, and will never return to Greatness, under current Management. The Times is DEAD, long live The New York Times!”

He’s a man with an opinion, folks.

Will The Education of Brett Kavanaugh rally? It remains to be seen.

For more on the aforementioned missing info, here’s Fox once more:

The initial excerpt contained allegations that Kavanaugh’s genitalia was thrust in a woman’s face during his college years. When The Times published the excerpt in its opinion section, it omitted the fact that the alleged victim herself had no memory of that happening. According to the reporters, that omission was an “oversight” by the paper’s editors.

Joe Biden might think he can tightly control his campaign messaging, but Fox News just let him know today that he has another thing coming.

Last night, I wrote about a threatening letter sent to the cable news outlet from Biden’s campaign warning them not to run a new ad from the Trump campaign on the Ukraine issue that will soon be airing in key early voting states as part of a massive ad blitz.

To recap, here’s what Biden’s team said in the letter:

In a letter to Fox News and Fox Business general counsel Lily Claffee, Biden campaign manager Greg Schultz wrote that the ad “falsely states” that “Biden offered Ukraine $1 billion to fire the prosecutor investigating a company affiliated with his son.”
    […]
“Though the Trump campaign is prepared to fabricate outright lies, your station’s airwaves should not be used to disseminate them,” Schultz wrote. “We are putting you on notice about the absolute falsity of the advertisement’s claims, and we expect that you will reject it. Please consider this letter a standing request that you reject any advertisement containing similar claims, regardless whether the Trump campaign or a third-party group seeks to place it.”

For those of you who haven’t seen it, here’s the ad:

CNN announced earlier this week they would not be running the ad, in deference to the Biden campaign in part because it disparages several of their news personalities, including Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, and Jim Acosta.

Fox News has since issued a statement in response to the Biden campaign letting them know they will not bow to threats:

“We are not in the business of censoring ads from candidates on either side of the aisle. Vice President Joe Biden has a standing invitation to appear on any of our platforms.”

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Joe Biden has attempted to flex some muscle with cable news outlets in hopes of suppressing the Ukraine story.

Last week, Red State’s streiff wrote about how the Biden campaign was attempting to intimidate cable news networks into keeping President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani off their airwaves, alleging he we was “spread[ing] false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of Donald Trump.”

    Read the full letter below:

Even if Biden happened to be successful in shutting down Giuliani from the airwaves and the Trump ad from Fox News, the fact remains that Trump himself will not be quiet about it and will continue to raise the issue into the general election campaign season, assuming Biden ends up being the nominee.

    Stay tuned.

Volker Testimony Released, Blows Impeachment Narrative and Schiff’s Story Out of the Water

The Volker testimony has now been released and once again, we find that the Democrats’ version of the facts is false.

That fact explains why Republicans yesterday said there was no case after hearing his testimony and why Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) ran scurrying away from reporters refusing to comment.

The full transcript pretty much blows their theory of the case for impeachment out of the water.

Kurt Volker was a U.S. diplomatic envoy to Ukraine for two years. He said that contrary to the whistleblower complaint there was never any effort to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on Hunter or Joe Biden.

    From The Federalist:

“As you will see from the extensive text messages I am providing, which convey a sense of real-time dialogue with several different actors, Vice President Biden was never a topic of discussion,” he said.

Volker testified that he never even mentioned a delay on U.S. military assistance to Ukrainian officials until late August, when news reports indicated that funding had been put on hold. Volker’s statement directly undercuts claims that the funding was part of a deliberate quid pro quo meant to force the Ukrainians to take certain actions in order for the military aids to be released.

Volker’s testimony also reflected badly on Democrats. Volker said that Trump didn’t have the best view of the Ukraine because of their involvement in allegedly helping the Democrats undermine him during the 2016 election and Trump was not happy with corruption in the country.

Volker testified that he believed the allegations of Ukrainian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential elections on behalf of the Democrats were “plausible.”

He said on the other hand that no one on the Trump team was trying to do that in the 2020 election. “The point about Ukraine avoiding anything that could play into U.S. elections in 2020 is a message that I know our Chargé in Ukraine, Amb. Bill Taylor, reinforced in other meetings,” Volker asserted.

He said that he was not on the Ukraine phone call being looked at, but that overall it was a “good” call and in no way was there any quid pro quo or linkage of aid related to the Bidens.

“All said it was a good, congratulatory call, that they discussed the importance of fighting corruption and promoting reform in Ukraine, and that President Trump reiterated his invitation to President Zelensky to visit the White House,” he testified. “I was not made aware of any reference to Vice President Biden or his son, which I only learned about when the transcript of the call was released on September 25, 2019.”

So if he didn’t even know Biden was mentioned he couldn’t really be helping to push for an investigation, blowing another whistleblower claim the Volker helped demands to look into Hunter Biden. The testimony also kills the whistleblower claim that aid was held up because they didn’t even know about it, so it couldn’t be any pressure. It wasn’t public until August.

Looks like Schiff and the other Democrats are flailing desperately, because their case is going down in flames.

New fundraising numbers have been posted by the Democrat primary candidates and they show some interesting shifts in the field.

Decrepit and bedridden Bernie Sanders led the pack with $25.3 million. Enough to buy a nice mausoleum.
Elizabeth Warren was second with $24.6 million.
    Pete Buttigieg raised $19.1 million.
Joe Biden pulled in $15.2 million.
Kamala Harris finished the Third Quarter with $11.6 million.

If you ignore the silliness of Yang and Williamson, the real story is that Joe Biden is in a death spiral. His fundraising is down by 30%. He’s slipping in the polls, especially Iowa and New Hampshire. His South Carolina “firewall” looks very flimsy. The news swirling around about Hunter Biden’s financial shenanigans is not going to get better and you can bet President Trump is not going to let up so long as the Ukraine phone call bullsh** is being propped up as grounds for impeachment. Beyond that, Biden’s campaign staff is as sclerotic as Biden so by the time it responds to Charge A we’ve already moved on to Charge F (see my post Donald Trump, Impeachment, And John Boyd’s OODA Loop). Beyond the slowness of his campaign’s reaction time, Biden is not a fighter. He’s simply not temperamentally suited to engaging in the bare-knuckle brawl that Trump seems to relish as is shown by his response to the corruption allegations against his son. You’ll also notice that Biden has been abandoned by his fellow Democrats and is left to fight this out with just the help of his media friends and fluffers.

As a footnote, Harris is also toast…I find this sort of shocking as I would have bet good money that she’d be one of the top three candidates going into Iowa.

Everything is going Warren’s way. Biden is fading. Harris and Buttigieg have been revealed to be insubstantial lightweights. Bernie Sanders is unlikely to go back on the trail. Right now, if you were forced to make a prediction you’d say that she is the nominee. We’ll see how she does when President Trump and his team drop the twitching, tattered corpse of Joe Biden’s campaign and turn their gimlet eyes of Pocahontas.
