Video Appears to Show Biden Forget Obama’s Name, Calls the G7 Summit “the G8”

Joe Biden has committed so many gaffes in just the month of August alone that most of us have lost track of them.

He’s added more to the list this week, with the two latest coming from a campaign stop he made in Richmond, Va. on Tuesday.

In the first video clip, Biden is talking about remarks President Trump made at the G7 Summit earlier this week where he said “President Putin outsmarted President Obama” on the Russia/Ukraine/Crimea issue. The Daily Caller’s Virginia Kruta sets the scene:

[Trump] claimed that Obama wanted Russia removed from the G7 — then the G8 — because Putin had “tricked” Obama when he invaded the Ukraine on his watch. Trump had then argued that Russia should be allowed to come back to the table, saying that he would rather have them “inside the tent” than outside it.

“They invaded another country and annexed a significant portion of it, called Crimea,” Biden said in response, adding, “He’s saying that it was President … my boss … it was his fault.”

Watch video of Biden’s flub below:

During that same speech, probably preceding it, Biden also mistakenly referred to the G7 Summit as “the G8”:

In fairness, it used to be called the G8 until Russia was effectively kicked out of it in 2014 over their annexation of Crimea. President Obama helped lead the effort to ban Putin from the summit as punishment for his actions.

That isolation is why the summit is now called the G7.

The rising number of gaffes Biden continues to make come at a time when as his aides are furiously trying to wave off any concerns that the former vice president is not up to the task of running for president:

“I think the press has to be more careful about applying an unfair standard to Joe Biden than they’re applying to other candidates,” Bedingfield responded. “If you listen to what the candidates say all day as they’re out campaigning, they’re out in front of cameras, they’re in front of people, they’re talking all day. Everybody’s going to slip up and misstate a name or a date or a location. It happens all the time.”

She continued: “People know who he is. They know this is a part of his charm. They understand that, you know, they’re getting it straight from him. It’s not overly packaged. He’s always speaking from his heart. And sure, that means sometimes he’s going to misstate a couple of things. But, frankly, so does every other candidate.”

It’s true that all candidates make gaffes of some sort. It sort of goes with territory of being on the road non-stop, talking to people, and being surrounded by campaign aides 24-7. But this is different. Very different.

I wrote last week about this issue and speculated that it’s quite possible the frequent mistakes Biden makes on the campaign trail can no longer be boiled down simply to tiredness, long days on the campaign trail, and “Joe being Joe.”

I hope I’m wrong and that this is not “something more” concerning, as some Democrats have hinted it might be.

A long time ago, human beings were just runnin’ around, nekkid in the woods.

Then someone had a bright idea: Let’s join together for a common good. And government was born.

Fast forward to 2018, as Florida eyed outlawing petting your dog while driving (here).

Something went very, very wrong.

What should be the point of government? In the national debate, it seems to me, things that ought to be least important — or, in some cases, wholly outside the purview — are often the focus.

Log Cabin Republicans appear intent upon majoring in the majors. Hence, its endorsement of Trump.

The organization’s chairman, Robert Kabel, and vice chair, Jill Homan, made the August 15th announcement via The Washington Post.

They did, in fact, tout The Donald’s “removing gay rights as a wedge issue from the old Republican playbook” and “taking bold actions that benefit the LGBTQ community.” But more importantly — to my way of thinking — they noted a concentration on the biggies:

While we do not agree with every policy or platform position presented by the White House or the Republican Party. We share a commitment to individual responsibility, personal freedom and a strong national defense.

Nicely done. Those three, in my view, fit into sensible governmental function.

Nonetheless, some Log Cabiners weren’t happy.

As noted by Yahoo News, Trump’s disappointed a portion in the area of gay rights:

The board decided not to wait until the 2020 convention when it realized it had the votes, because some members were angry about passing on a Trump endorsement in 2016. Since taking office, Trump and his administration have effectively rolled back rights for the LGBT community, reinstating a ban on transgender troops from serving in the U.S. military; reversing departmental protections against discrimination against transgender people; banning the flying of pride flags at U.S. embassies; and siding with a Colorado baker who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

In August, the Department of Labor promulgated a draft rule that would allow government contractors to discriminate against LGBT employees on religious grounds.

A few days after the Washington Post declaration, borard member Jennifer Horn — a former chair of the New Hampshire Republican Party — exited the Cabin.

To Jennifer, it’s about common decency:

“There is no world where I can sit down at the dining room table and explain to my children that I just endorsed Donald Trump for president. It is contrary to everything that I have ever taught them about what it means to be a good, decent, principled member of society.”

Additionally, former president of the group’s D.C. chapter, Robert Turner, bowed out.

He posted an explanation of his departure on the 15th:

“It saddens me greatly to say that today, I am ending my association with Log Cabin Republicans, an organization I’ve been heavily involved with for the last decade. But for me, there’s no more fight left. The national board’s endorsement of Trump, and their subsequent and hollow WaPo op-ed, is a step too far. And this leaves me sad.”

And now, as reported by “LGBT News Source” the Washington Blade, Executive Director Jerri Ann Henry has stepped down from her LCR post. She made it official last Friday due to “discontent with Trump and dissatisfaction with Log Cabin’s approach to defending its Trump endorsement in the media.”

Jerri was the first woman to ever serve in the role.

Well, Trump’s happy to have whoever’s left. After the endorsement rang out two weeks ago, he expressed his gratitude:

“[I’m] very honored to receive it. … Some of my biggest supporters are of that community. And I think they — and I talk to them a lot about it — I think I’ve done really very well with that community.”

The fires in the Amazon are still a mystery, as is their reported destructiveness, but Democrat presidential candidates can at least find one silver lining: the story of potential damage to “the lungs of the world” will no doubt justify their latest torture which comes in the form of a 7 HOUR — you read that right — televised discussion on climate change.

Ever been to a 7 hour lecture? Well now you can watch one from the comfort of your own home!

Look, I’m not trying to denigrate efforts to care for our environment and take care of our home, this wonderful little orb that is so generous with her gifts. I’m just saying Democrat candidates would rather talk — for half a day apparently — about how you can donate to the cause than get busy doing the hard work of governing on climate change (or anything else for that matter. Almost 4 years of Russia collusion nonsense and little else…)

The details of this snoozefest, per CNN, follow:

Ten Democratic presidential hopefuls will appear in New York at back-to-back town halls on Wednesday, September 4, taking audience questions about their climate plans as scientists sound the alarm about global warming.
Along with the candidates, the network also announced the CNN journalists and the approximate appearance times for the presidential hopefuls during the seven-hour, live event.
    • Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro will be interviewed by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer at 5 p.m. ET
    • Businessman Andrew Yang, who will also be interviewed by Blitzer, will come on at 5:40 p.m.
    • California Sen. Kamala Harris will be interviewed by CNN’s Erin Burnett at 6:20 p.m.
    • Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who will also be interviewed by Burnett, will appear at 7 p.m.

    • South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who will also be interviewed by Cuomo at 10 p.m.
    • Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke will appear with CNN’s Don Lemon at 10:40 p.m.
    • New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker will also be interviewed by Lemon and will come on at 11:20 p.m.

There is actual work being done to implement clean energy standards, some of it even in the evil oil refinery industry (but you’re not likely to hear about it next week on CNN).

One example is that of Meridian Energy, fighting to build a cutting-edge oil refinery, called The Davis Refinery, in Western North Dakota near Theodore Roosevelt National Park. As you can imagine, despite the CEO of Meridian claiming that traffic into the Park will ultimately produce more pollution than the new refinery thanks to new techniques it plans to use, the Davis Refinery is having a hell of a time getting past regulators and activists.

The Davis Refinery will produce “less pollution than the cars visiting the park,” Prentice claims. “The park generates more pollution than the Davis Refinery will.”

I can’t verify that claim, but I believe him when he says the project will move the ball down the field when it comes to cleaner use our oil and gas resources.

Unfortunately Meridian’s progress toward building it has been beset by legal and political activism from the usual suspects, so blinkered by their apocalyptic ideologies they can’t believe the path to good environmental stewardship may lay through new and improved ways to develop oil resources.

Not one but two legal challenges to the Davis Refinery are headed before the North Dakota Supreme Court.

This columnist notes that the left has begun to treat their climate alarmism as an eschatology — “An end-of-the-world doctrine shouted from the pulpits of power, not at all unlike the prophecies of rapture purported by Christian evangelicals.”

Which is more or less what you should prepare yourselves to hear if you turn on CNN at any point during the evening of September 4.

Intelligence Insiders: ‘Establishment’ Officials In DNI Still Withholding Documents From Attorney General

Westlake Legal Group Dan-Coats-620x349 Intelligence Insiders: ‘Establishment’ Officials In DNI Still Withholding Documents From Attorney General william barr Uncategorized President Trump pete hoekstra Paul Sperry Joseph Maguire Front Page Stories Fred Fleitz Featured Story Dan Coats

On May 23rd, President Trump granted Barr the authority to declassify any documents he and his team required to conduct their investigation into the origins of the Trump/Russia probe. The President also ordered the intelligence community to comply with all of Barr’s requests. According to Real Clear Investigation’s Paul Sperry, inside sources say that “establishment” officials inside the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) have continued to withhold documents which Barr has requested.

Both the Director, Dan Coats, and his deputy, Sue Gordon, left the agency on August 15th. Gordon was said to be a close ally of former-CIA Director Brennan’s.

Although Coats and Gordon have departed, agency officials have continued to “drag their feet.”

Sperry writes that the specific documents being withheld include:

1. Evidence that President Obama’s CIA, FBI, and Justice Department illegally eavesdropped on the Trump campaign.

2. President Obama and CIA chief John Brennan: key briefing still under wraps.

3. An August 2016 briefing CIA Director John Brennan hand-delivered in a sealed envelope to Obama, containing information from what Brennan claimed was “a critical informant close to Putin.” The informant is believed to have actually been a Russian source recycled from the largely debunked dossier compiled by ex-British agent Christopher Steele for the Hillary Clinton campaign.

An email exchange from December 2016 between Brennan and FBI Director James Comey, in which Brennan is said to have argued for using the dossier in early drafts of the task force’s much-hyped January 2017 intelligence assessment. That spread the narrative that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the alleged Clinton campaign hacking to steal the election for Trump.

Copies of all FBI, CIA and State Department records related to Joseph Mifsud, the mysterious Maltese professor whose statements regarding Papadopoulos allegedly triggered the original Russia-collusion probe.

4. Transcripts of 53 closed-door interviews of FBI and Justice Department officials and other witnesses conducted by the House Intelligence Committee. The files were sent to the agency last November.

The DNI was created after 9/11 and is now the “gatekeeper” for much of the government’s classified information.

A source “close to the situation” told Sperry that, “There’s been a huge impasse in getting key documents to Congress and declassified during the Russia investigation. Several House members, especially Devin Nunes [of House Intelligence] and Mark Meadows [of House Oversight)] were upset that Coats refused to cooperate in releasing this explosive material to Congress…It was clear Coats was not acting on the president’s behalf and had been co-opted by the intelligence bureaucracy.”

Trump has reacted by shaking up the senior leadership of the agency. He has said he would like to eliminate the agency altogether, however, because it was established by legislation, he cannot do so. But he can certainly downsize it.

Navy Vice Adm. Joseph Maguire is currently the acting DNI. President Trump is expected to nominate a permanent Director after the Labor Day holiday.

National security consultant Christopher C. Hull told Sperry that “a new director might help break the logjam in declassifying documents for Barr’s investigation.” He added that, “it’s now toweringly obvious that some portion of U.S. intelligence worked to undermine Trump.”

Trump is said to have eight names on his shortlist. The top two on this list are Pete Hoekstra and Fred Fleitz. Hoekstra, currently the US ambassador to the Netherlands, is a former Congressman.

Fred Fleitz is a “20-year veteran of the CIA who also worked for Hoekstra on the House intelligence panel as staff director and, most recently, for Trump in the White House as an adviser on national security.”

The Director of National Intelligence is a cabinet level position and therefore, the nominee must be approved by the Senate.

Meet Joe Black: Biden Does His Best to Convince Black People He’s Down – By Insisting He’s Not Even Uncomfortable Around Them

Joe Biden wants to become president.

Therefore, he wants America’s vote.

White people constitute a majoritynot merely a plurality — of the country.

Therefore, Joe Biden wants to…slam white people?

Interesting strategy.

I can’t think of any venue other than politics where a person would insult the very people they should need in order to succeed. But perhaps I’m not considering the Democratic finesse of such a move.

As reported by the Washington Examiner, on Tuesday, Joe finessed his head off to a small group of reporters.

He also took the increasingly popular view that the 50’s were right: People should be separated as white and non-white (now “people of color”).

Hit it, Joe:

“White folks are the reason we have institutional racism. There has always been racism in America. White supremacists have always existed; they still exist.”

Did he forget he’s white folks, too? In fact, he’s worse: He’s white folks in power.

The former VP appears intent upon snagging the support of black Americans — really intent:

“The bad news is I have a long record. The good news is I have a long record. People know me — at least they think they know me. I think after all this time, I think they have a sense of what my character is, who I am.”

Do it to it, Joe:

“I’ve never, ever, ever in my entire life been in a circumstance where I’ve ever felt uncomfortable being in the black community.”

Is it just me, or in an effort to come across stunningly hip, did he just out himself as a winceworthily out-of-it whitey who grew up in the 40’s?

No matter, he wanted to heavily hammer it in:

“All I know is I don’t think anybody in the community thinks I am — what’s the phrase? ‘I know you’re not a racist, Joe.’”

Pssst. Joe. Stop immediately. You’re really, really not coming across the way you think.

“I don’t think anyone thinks that about me.”

Dang it.

He’s so earth-scorchingly UberWoke, he’ll probably even pick a running mate who’s maybe one of them non-whites:

“Whomever I pick would be preferably someone who was of color and who was of a different gender, but I’m not making that commitment until I know that the person I’m dealing with I can completely, thoroughly trust, is authentic, and is on the same page.”

Joe also slammed Donald Trump, saying a president’s words can “appeal to the worst damn instincts of human nature.”

But a better insult altogether came from a couple AP writers who covered this story.

Here’s what they had to say, and it’s pretty incredible:

By highlighting the nation’s racial tensions and placing blame on Trump, Biden is showing that he, too, is willing to make race a core campaign issue, but from the opposite perspective of the president.

They stated — as if it were a simple point of fact — that Donald Trump is making race a core campaign issue.

Who talks about race — Donald Trump, or the media?

And notice that Trump’s factually from the “opposite perspective” of being pro-non-white.

Dear All Left-Wing Writers and Talking Heads:

By and large, Donald Trump doesn’t talk about race. YOU talk about race. You talk about it and talk about it and talk about it, and then you talk about it. You never stop talking about it. And seemingly, every time Trump opens his mouth and talks about things which are not about race, you senselessly claim that’s all they concern.

Like a buncha maniacs.

Please stop. You’re making me spill my grape juice.

Love and Hugs,
Alex Parker

P.S. And to all y’all who are white: Please stop your institutional racism and white supremacy.

#Biden2020

Perhaps the most disconcerting evolution of our society in the past decade has been the rise of “wokeness” which is simply a hip name for the poison that is intersectionality. The idea that we aren’t defined by our individual merits and qualities (or in the eyes of God if you are religious), but rather that we are part of a monolithic “identity group,” with each identity being inherently more or less valuable depending on the current liberal hierarchy.

This is why you see even the most mundane facets of Christianity being attacked on the left but Islam being treated with kid gloves. It’s why you see such an obsession among Democrats with race and electing leaders not based on their ideas, but by what gender they are. Intersectionality may, in some isolated cases, stem from good desires. More often then not though, it’s simply a way to aggregate power for a select few.

It’s also poisonous to personal relationships. Take Saira Rao, who made a bit of a name for herself on Twitter as being the most over the top “woke” feminist on the platform.

She recently made a series of posts complaining that she had lost all her friends after trying to push them into her intersectional views.

Who would have ever imagined that your friends might shun you if you demanded they “give up whiteness.” What does that even mean? That’s simply not a thing a non-crazy person asks of someone they are in a personal relationship with. It’s the kind of shaming you’d expect from someone attempting to force their friends into a cult.

What Rao was really saying to her friends, which she doesn’t seem to realize, is that her own political views are more important than the views of her friends. When they didn’t bow before her intersectional evangelism, Rao didn’t take that as a sign that perhaps it’s ok to have differing views. Instead, she kept coming at them, shaming them, shoving propaganda in their face, and ultimately slandering them. Is it any surprise they eventually stopped hanging out with her?

More crazily, Rao doesn’t show any introspection or regret at all. Rather, she goes on to compare her friends to members of the KKK and calls them white supremacists.

If you are starting to think wokeness borders on mental illness, you wouldn’t be alone. This is not normal behavior. It’s not how you interact with other human beings socially. Labeling everyone who doesn’t want to “give up their whiteness” as a white supremacist strikes me as the rantings of a lunatic.

I feel some sympathy for Rao, but I also recognize this is completely of her own doing. Until she’s ready to actually think about her own flaws and the illogical insanity of her ideology, I don’t suspect her friends will be inviting her to Christmas anytime soon.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing in Rao’s thinking, nor the thinking of many on the far left that points to an awakening anytime soon. This kind of division in our culture is only going to get worse.

It’s been a wild news week where bedbugs have featured prominently in national stories about poor working conditions at the New York Times, a minor-turned-major insult directed at Times columnist Bret Stephens, and allegations of a bedbug infestation at President Trump’s Doral golf resort.

The Stephens story is arguably the biggest among them, considering by his own hand he brought the harsh, glaring spotlight on himself by turning a harmless (in the scheme of things) Twitter insult from a George Washington University associate professor into a big f—in’ deal.

Naturally, President Trump was going to weigh in on this matter because Stephens, viewed in some circles as the NYT’s “token” conservative, is a frequent critic of Trump and has bragged about being a staunch part of the Never Trump movement.

Late last night and first thing this morning, Trump cut loose on the stories about alleged bedbug infestations at Doral, and Stephens himself:

Though Stephens has indeed deleted his Twitter account in the aftermath of the backlash against him, no doubt he’ll hear about Trump’s rant against him, since he seems to be super-sensitive to and monitors that sort of thing.

In a rather ironic update to Slate’s Monday story about the NYT bedbug infestation issue that was announced via an email to employees at the beginning of the week, exactly one bedbug was found “on a 3rd floor couch” after the affected areas were treated. There was no word, however, of whether or not Bret Stephens’ office is on the 3rd floor in the vicinity of that couch.

Stay tuned.

Marble Halls & Silver Screens Episode 3: The ‘Dave Chappelle Doesn’t Care About Your Feelings’ Edition

Westlake Legal Group Marble-Halls-logo-1-620x620 Marble Halls & Silver Screens Episode 3: The ‘Dave Chappelle Doesn’t Care About Your Feelings’ Edition Marble Halls & Silver Screens Front Page Stories Featured Story dave chappelle Culture China cancel culture

Welcome to this week’s episode of MH&SS where I make you sit through 40 minutes of talk on current news events — China trade (I think we’re winning), creeping collectivism (also known as, “How individual freedoms keep the Amazon burning”), and the whining of journalists because they’re becoming victims of the very “cancel culture” they created — to get to the really good stuff at the end which is a review of the absolutely brilliant and hilarious “Sticks and Stones” (also known as Dave Chappelle’s latest Netflix stand-up special).

Sure, this episode concerns itself with new trade partnerships being developed with Japan and with an eye toward what looks like almost everyone else in the Western hemisphere. And absolutely I talk New York Times columnists who think trying to get people fired is the worst thing imaginable unless they’re called a bedbug. Then it’s on, friend.

But I’d like mostly to draw your attention to Dave Chappelle’s newest stand-up routine, filmed in my hometown of Atlanta, that will make you squirm in discomfort but also make you thank the Lord we still have people willing to absolutely buck the system and simply speak.

Dave knows he’s making you uncomfortable. He doesn’t care. And he dares you not to care either. He also throws the gauntlet down and pretty much assumes there will be people seeking to “cancel” him for what he says (and they’re already trying), but he opens the show with a story about how Anthony Bourdain — a man who flew around the world and ate delicious food with cool people for a living — killed himself.

And the message is: don’t let the oppressive nature of the world keep you silent. Don’t let that happen to you. Dave doesn’t plan on it happening to him. So he speaks. And he laughs. And so do we.

Thank God.

And they’ll try to place Chappelle in a box to make themselves feel better. But he defies them. He has guns, he says, for protection. But he hates them.

In the hidden ending (be patient millennials) he’s asked what he’ll do if Trump wins again and he says he’ll probably enjoy a significant tax break. But he also tells a story, clearly meaningful to him, of meeting Obama.

He makes fun of Asians and the LGBT community while being married to an Asian woman and counting many gay people as his friends.

He’s enigmatic and unafraid. And really, really funny.

And we need him.

Bernie Sanders Thinks He’s Praising Communism During Interview, but Is Actually Applauding Capitalism

China is rife with problems. Be it religious persecution, an Orwellian way of treating its citizens,  and its penchant for communism, it’s not exactly the model country.

While 2020 candidate, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, acknowledges that China has its problems, but seems to believe that the communist country has done more for its poor than any other country in the history of the world.

“China is a country that is moving unfortunately in a more authoritarian way in a number of directions,” Sanders told Hill.TV’s Krystal Ball. “But what we have to say about China in fairness to China and it’s leadership is if I’m not mistaken they have made more progress in addressing extreme poverty than any country in the history of civilization, so they’ve done a lot of things for their people.”

As Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire points out, Sanders misunderstands how China helped its poor. It was never communism that helped the poverty levels, it created them. It was China’s turn to capitalism that helped the poor out of its rut, and Saavedra points to a Forbes article that describes how it happened:

…never before in history have so many people escaped poverty in such a short time as in the past decades in China. According to official World Bank figures, the percentage of extremely poor people in China in 1981 stood at 88.3%. By 2015 only 0.7% of the Chinese population was living in extreme poverty. In this period, the number of poor people in China fell from 878 million to less than ten million…

…China’s success provides clear evidence of the power of capitalism. Under Mao, the state had an omnipotent grip over China’s economy. What has happened over the past few decades can be summed up in a few sentences: China has progressively embraced the tenets of free-market economics, introduced private ownership, and gradually reduced the influence of the once all-powerful state over the Chinese economy. That the state still plays a major role today is simply because China is in the midst of a transformation process that began with complete state dominance of the economy.

In fact, it appears Sanders is a lot more careful about what he left out about China than what he praised, as pointed out by Paul Crookston of The Washington Free Beacon:

He did not address how China’s communist government has oppressed religious people and minorities, putting at least one million Uighur Muslims in concentration camps while instituting one of the most comprehensive surveillance states in history. In China, the Communist Party requires all religions to pledge ultimate loyalty to President Xi Jinping, who is atop a one-party system that does not allow political opposition.

China’s poor may have been helped out by China embracing capitalism more than it used to, but the falling poverty levels is a testament to capitalism, not the power of a communist government. The power of communism, which Sanders is dangerously close to applauding, results in every other problem you just read.

Sanders has a habit of skirting around the facts about the economic and governmental systems he heaps praise on. Every question thrown at him usually results him uttering the same few phrases that help him dodge the question. “Big corporations,” and “the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer,” etc, etc.

I get the feeling Sanders knows his governmental system has massive flaws, but at this point, backing off from it would mean losing support, and more importantly for Sanders, money.

Angry because several University of Central Florida students had broken his “no cell-phone” rule, comedian Pete Davidson, who was there to perform at the school’s “Welcome Back” show, burst into a profanity laced rant about millenials instead. Here’s what he had to say to his audience:

You film everything and not enjoy the show for f***ing an hour, then like, I don’t gotta be here. I can just give them their money back, because I don’t give a f***. So, like, whenever somebody else comes to your f***ing town and wants to perform and is f***ing exhausted and flies all the way to the middle of f***ing nowhere to do jokes for you little privileged a**holes, don’t f***ing ruin the show for people who actually wanna be here.

Students at first thought this was part of his act and began to applaud. Davidson quickly put an end to that. “Don’t clap either, because like half of you did it!” And he continued.

That’s what’s f***ed up about our generation. That’s why we’re embarrassing. That’s why the world is gonna end in 25 years, because you’re all f***ing retarded.

You should f***ing grow up. It says ‘no phones,’ it says a thing on there. It’s just like, you’re just supposed to just like behave. I have to have my guy like f***ing patrol you guys like you’re five years old? That’s fucking embarrassing. You should grow up. Where’s the next generation? Don’t you want adults to respect us? Don’t you want your parents to, like, be proud of you? You know how f***ing embarrassing it is to be our age and walk out and know everybody thinks you’re a f***ing idiot? Grow the f*** up.

According to TMZ, when Davidson finally ended his rant, “he did a brief Q&A with the crowd but said he was only sticking around because he had to wait for his Uber.”

Nice.

Unsurprisingly, none of the students were too pleased about his performance and took to twitter to express their feelings.

One student tweeted, “imagine going on a 5 minute … rant about how you hate millennials recording s–t and then tryna backtrack into making it a motivational speech Westlake Legal Group 1f974 Pete Davidson Lambastes ‘Privileged Little A**holes’ At UCF For Breaking No Cell Phone Rule; Video university of central florida Rep. Another wrote, “it was a S–T SHOW! he went on a whole rant bcs a few ppl were recording and he started yelling about how we need to grow up and that we’re r-words and b—— and then he was like mad bcs no one was LAUGHING! u could feel the tension and how uncomfortable it was.”

The Saturday Night Live regular, who sports a tattoo of Hillary Clinton’s face on his lower leg, is no stranger to confrontational behavior.

Davidson famously had an audience member removed from a show in South Orange, NJ. The comedian was setting up a joke about a friend who had passed out in his apartment which he at first thought was a heart attack. He said, “So a funny thing happened to me recently in my apartment … my friend died of a heart attack.”

Someone called out, “Mac Miller!” Mac Miller was another friend who had recently died of a drug overdose.

Another audience member told the New York Post that, “Pete calmly stops his routine and asks the audience to ID the dude that yelled out and that he is going to have to leave. He then asks security to locate the yeller and escort him out…And give him back his money. I don’t want his money.”

He is also well-known for mocking Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) who had lost an eye in combat. He joked “You may be surprised to hear that he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie. I’m sorry. I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.”

Davidson apologized to Crenshaw and Crenshaw even appeared on a later episode of Saturday Night Live with him. Still, he crossed a line with his joke.

At any rate, the students did not deserve to listen to Davidson’s verbal abuse as they began the new school year. He was there to entertain them, not to berate them.

The university issued a statement on Tuesday which read:

Mr. Davidson’s abusive language, particularly his use of a derogatory slur, is contrary to the University of Central Florida’s values of inclusion and respect for all. It’s disappointing that his rant spoiled an event that was meant to welcome students back for the fall semester.

I’ve heard it said that often when we point our finger at others, three fingers point back at us. Could it be that Davidson is the “privileged little a**hole” instead?
