AOC Acts Stupidly, Says It Was “Not Easy” for Reps. Waters and Tlaib to Be First to Call for Impeachment

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., makes an objection to a Republican argument as the House Oversight and Reform Committee considers whether to hold Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, 6/12/19. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

Over the weekend, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) took to the Twitter machine to express much love to her BFFs Reps. Rashida Tlaib (MI) and Maxine Waters (CA) for the “not easy” job of being on the early “Impeach!!” bandwagon.

Here’s what she wrote:

Because, ya know, it’s super-difficult to call for the impeachment of a Republican president when almost every Democrat you work with and most of the hardline Democrats in your solidly blue district want it, too.

She continued on:

Death threats are, of course, always unacceptable but as to the “criticism”? It mostly came from people who the AOCs, Tlaibs, and Mad Maxines of America view as accomplices to the corruption and who have “blood on their hands” because they support gun rights and don’t view everything from the unhinged prism of Orange Man Bad.

Just for the record, let’s take a look at what Ocasio-Cortez is really praising here:

As I wrote last week, Maxine Waters was calling for Trump’s impeachment barely two weeks after he was inaugurated. And she wasn’t doing it over any allegations of impeachable offenses, because there weren’t any. She did it over political disagreements. Waters is the same Democrat who raged in 1998 that Republicans were using impeachment as a political tool due to the “hatred” they felt for President Bill Clinton.

Waters even went so far as to call Republican impeachment efforts against a president who had lied under oath a “coup-d’etat”:

Two years before she was elected to Congress, security staff dragged former Michigan state legislator Rashida Tlaib out of an August 2016 speech being given by then-nominee Donald Trump in Detroit.

Watch:

She later wrote an opinion piece comparing her actions to those of Rosa Parks:

I have heard critics calling it unbecoming of a former state legislator. Well, I believe it is unbecoming of any American to not stand up to Trump’s hate-filled rhetoric and tactics. Growing up the daughter of Palestinian immigrants in Detroit, I was taught about how Walter Reuther, Coleman Young, Rosa Parks, Viola Liuzzo and other great Detroiters risked their lives for justice. I still remember at the age of 12, learning that segregation had been permitted only a couple of decades before I was born and that a woman’s right to vote was not even a century old. But it was great Americans who stood up, some dying for the cause, to make our country better.

As I wrote in tweet response to AOC, this has been about Orange Man Bad from the start, not any alleged corruption. Trump had not even been elected in 2016 when Tlaib was having rage fits about him and and in 2017 after barely two weeks in office, Waters was floating impeachment based on political disagreement:

Joe Biden’s Campaign Tried to Shut Down Rudy Giuliani Last Weekend and They Had a Very Good Reason

Yesterday, Rudy Giuliani was just about everywhere. The fact that he was everywhere is a testimony to the lack of clout Joe Biden’s campaign has with the media.

Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s presidential campaign contacted top television anchors and networks on Sunday to “demand” that Rudolph W. Giuliani, President Trump’s personal lawyer, be kept off the air because of what they called his misleading comments about the Biden family and Ukraine.

“We are writing today with grave concern that you continue to book Rudy Giuliani on your air to spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of Donald Trump,” a pair of top Biden campaign advisers, Anita Dunn and Kate Bedingfield, wrote in the letter.

“Giving Rudy Giuliani valuable time on your air to push these lies in the first place is a disservice to your audience and a disservice to journalism,” the advisers wrote.

The note, which was obtained by The New York Times, was sent to executives and top political anchors at ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC, including star interviewers like Jake Tapper, Chuck Todd and Chris Wallace.

This is what it looked like:

Westlake Legal Group rugby-1335770_1280-620x413 Joe Biden’s Campaign Tried to Shut Down Rudy Giuliani Last Weekend and They Had a Very Good Reason Ukraine Rudy Giuilani Politics Joe Biden hunter biden Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump democrats corruption Allow Media Exception

Now there are two reasons why Biden’s campaign wold do this. The first is that they are playing multidimensional chess and they want to draw as much attention to Giuliani as possible because they know Giuliani is hurting Trump. That view has a lot of agreement from some people on the right.

Not to take a shot at Steve or anything but just to illustrate the point of view that Giuliani was harmful to Trump.

Personally, I think this is wrong. The Democrats in the House have essentially locked themselves into voting to impeach President Trump. Despite Jeff Flake publicly masturbating to the idea of 35 GOP senators voting to convict Trump, that isn’t going to happen. The more important fact is that the Democrats have two choices: fight the 2020 presidential campaign on the subject of impeachment or risk alienating their most loyal voters. There is zero evidence that impeaching Trump is a political winner and a lot to indicate it is a loser. More to the point, the alleged “scandal” that has generated the current hair-on-fire hysteria is difficult to understand. Where does it say that a President can’t tell a foreign country to investigate misconduct as a condition of getting foreign aid? Was a law passed since 2016 that says a political campaign can’t use foreign actors to gather oppo on their electoral opposition? Is there a law that says the son of a Democrat presidential candidate CAN’T be investigated for fairly blatant involvement in influence peddling in another country? When did we pass that law?

What is easy to understand is the underlying allegation. You have a monumentally undisciplined son of a prominent US politician–a guy who was tossed out of the Navy Reserve for cocaine use and whose ex-wife complained of his blowing the family budget on blow and hookers–landing a $50,000/month gig and, when the locals get onto him, his Daddy threatens to pull the plug on $1 billion in aid unless they fire the prosecutor and make it all go away. And it does.

I guarantee you that every single American who doesn’t work for The Bulwark and even many of those who work for National Review understands that narrative without any kind of a Vox.com explainer.

What Giuliani did was a masterclass in what Obama staffer David Plouffe called “stray voltage:”

This is the White House theory of “Stray Voltage.” It is the brainchild of former White House Senior Adviser David Plouffe, whose methods loom large long after his departure. The theory goes like this: Controversy sparks attention, attention provokes conversation, and conversation embeds previously unknown or marginalized ideas in the public consciousness. This happens, Plouffe theorizes, even when–and sometimes especially when–the White House appears defensive, besieged, or off-guard. I first discovered and wrote about this in July of 2012.

As a theory, “stray voltage” exists in a kind of strategic void. It can’t be dismissed or embraced as workable because creating controversy for the sake of controversy is, well, achievable. Like getting soup from the White House mess. It’s also self-reinforcing and internally didactic. Everyone looks around and says, “See. There’s controversy. It’s working.”

But it’s also revealing when the emphasis has shifted to a “pen and phone” strategy that elevates executive action over messy legislative haggling. The pen-and-phone approach has become a low-level White House fetish, with efforts to sidestep Congress and place Obama at the center of the action all-consuming.

Giuliani said a lot of things over the weekend. If you don’t like Trump you’re probably shaking your head in amazement. But if you aren’t suffering from Stage 5 TDS you heard a lot about Biden’s corruption. Some of it may even be true but what hasn’t happened is any of it being investigated by law enforcement. And because of that lack of investigation and because of the ease of understanding of the narrative, the Biden campaign realized that this was going to play into the hands of Republicans, but, more importantly his Democrat opponents are going to start pushing these stories as well. And absent and investigation, no one is going to pay any attention to the people running around screaming that this or that has been “debunked.”

What is more, is that nearly all of Giuliani’s claims are going to be discussed. Some of those claims will fall away. Some will stick like epoxy to the Biden campaign. And at the center of it all is Donald Trump who can tweet the claims to his heart’s content and, because he didn’t make them, never has to justify a single one of them.

Biden knows this. His campaign knows this. His donors know this. And that’s why they didn’t want Giuliani roaming the networks yesterday.

Men are Dangerously Brutalizing Women in Rugby as Teams are ‘Forced to Prioritize Hurt Feelings Over Broken Bones’

I believe people should present themselves the way they wish. You have but one life; live it as you choose.

Have you always wanted to dress like a pirate? Do it, if it’s worth more to you than freedom from stares at the post office.

Fancy yourself an 18th century Yankee Doodle? Suit up, so long as you can deal with reactions at Jiffy Lube.

In my view, everyone has the right to think as they do, say as they wish, and — with grand lenience — live as they dream.

It should be noted that the following topic is unrelated to issues of identity. It is, rather, one of fairness. And safety.

Not long ago, a ubiquitous bumper sticker laid it out: “There’s No Excuse for Domestic Violence.”

On the left side of the aisle and elsewhere, people decried the physical abuse of women.

And why? Because men were bigger and hideously stronger than women; they must never use that fact to hurt the vulnerable and comparably weak.

Despite a recent trend in movies, the same still holds true: Whereas the 5-foot actress with Kermit the Frog arms now sends the 200-pound dude flying across the silver screen, in reality, he’d just be perhaps mildly annoyed.

“Why’d you hit me?”

Yet, the world of athletics is moving toward a bumper stick revolution.

Apropos, in Great Britain, referees of women’s rugby are quitting. Why? An invasion of men.

So noted the weekend’s Sunday Times.

One ref offered a powerful summary:

“Being forced to prioritize hurt feelings over broken bones exposes me to personal litigation from female players who have been damaged by players who are biologically male.”

Another referee explained that cultural Marxism is preventing people from speaking up:

“If you even ask the question, you are told you are a bigot.”

Odd, given that “bigot” means “intolerance of an opposing view.”

So how rough is the game getting? The ref pointed out that, over the course of half a season, he’s seen five women’s players with beards.

Former Olympic Sharron Davies had a thought or on the subject:

“My daughter Grace was told at the age of 11 she could no longer play with the boys because it was no longer safe. How can they have that rule in place and…say it is perfectly okay for a transgender woman who is a biological man to play with the girls, but girls who are girls are not allowed to play with the boys because it is dangerous?”

On the other side of the argument is Kelly Morgan, a man identifying as a woman in the Welsh league.

And he’s mowing those chicks like so many lawns.

Kelly’s coach explained to the BBC last month:

“She’s going to be a good, good player for the next few years, as long as we can stop her injuring players in training.”

Team Captain Jessica Minty-Madley’s got the gift of metaphor:

“[Kelly] folded a girl like a deckchair during a game, which was quite funny, but they’re still friends.”

Kelly himself appears to believe he’s a victim of circumstance:

“I do feel guilty, but what can you do? I don’t go out to hurt anybody. I just want to play rugby.”

Many Democrats want the same for America, via the “Equality Act,” which would add gender identity to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (here).

Those people had no idea they were marching for men to one day be able to legally pummel women.

Lady boxers, watch out: You’re about to get your faces broken.

Even though there’s no excuse for domestic violence.

Despite the Dems’ talk of being the party of women, that’s exactly who will pay the price for such an unequal equality such as this (here and here).

The field umpire who quit told the Times:

“This is driving female players and referees out of the game.”

The RedState Box Office Report – A Snowman Drifts to the Top of the Mountain

A warm reception for a cool character

The box office has been warming up the past few weeks with quality efforts drawing respectable numbers, and with a slight lull one studio found a crevasse in the schedule and managed to earn a decent return. Many are looking ahead to next week when “Joker”, amid all of its social-concern hype, gets released, but in the meantime here is the windfall from this weekend.

1. ABOMINABLE – $20.86 Million

Universal/Dreamworks combined to find this slot in the calendar for a family-oriented film as studios are holding back on adult options in light of “Joker” expected to hog all the attention. The snowman managed a decent enough performance as a result. This slightly beat most predictions though it does lag slightly behind the performance of last year’s “Smallfoot”, another yeti-based animated film that opened with $23 million. The studios shared the production cost with the Chinese animation studio Pearl so there is some expected international boost that looks to bring this to profitability.

2.  DOWNTON ABBEY – $14.5m
Strong weekday numbers and a respectable drop of -53% has this British drama based on the hit TV series already taking in close to $60 million.

3. HUSTLERS – $11.47m
With newer films dropping lower this stripper heist film is showing serious longevity. A -30% dip in week three means this will have legs for quite a few more weeks, and a $100 million total is basically assured by this point.

4. IT: CHAPTER TWO – $10.4m
Has taken in close to a very impressive $200 million, but in comparison to the original film at this stage this sequel is lagging by $100 million.

5. AD ASTRA – $10.14m
The Brad Pitt space epic had a decent second frame falling only -46%, but it needed a far better opening, and the reliance now will be on a hefty foreign box office to take this to profits.

6. RAMBO: LAST BLOOD – $8.57m
To this point it is slightly outpacing the last entry in the “Rambo” franchise, but that is a severely qualified success. The previous film was released 11 years ago, and on nearly 1,000 fewer screens.

7. JUDY – $3.09m
Renee Zellwegger is a bit of a surprise casting choice for a biopic about the life of Judy Garland, but the choice seems to be paying off. This has landed in the top-10 despite playing on a scant few screens – 461. The $6,706 screen average was easily the highest of any movie this week. Roadside Attractions will certainly be exPanding this release in the coming weeks.

8. GOOD BOYS – $2.01M
The kids are starting to gradually shed screens, but the $80 million haul after 7 weeks is making Universal happy.

9. THE LION KING – $1.6m
Oh yea, it is still lingering after the entire summer.

10. ANGEL HAS FALLEN – $1.53m
Gerard Butler is about to leave the building…

It’s Time to Go Ahead and Impeach Trump

FILE- In this Feb. 5, 2018, file photo, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., ranking member of the House Committee on Intelligence, pauses while speaking during a media availability after a closed-door meeting of the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington. Two weeks after President Donald Trump blocked its full release, the House Intelligence Committee published on Saturday, Feb. 24, a partially blacked-out version of a classified Democratic memo aiming to counter a GOP narrative that the FBI and Justice Department conspired against Trump as they investigated his ties to Russia. (AP Photo/Alex Brandon, File)

Over the past two weeks, we’ve suffered through an onslaught of news surrounding President Trump and Ukraine. Breaking news story after breaking news story, many of which have turned out to be false of misleading, have led the way. The media have been absolutely rabid and perhaps even worse than during the Mueller investigation. You can see some of the things they go wrong just leading up to the call transcript’s release at my piece here.

To say they’ve not covered themselves in glory is an understatement. Since then we’ve had Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff lie in hearings and Sen. Chris Murphy make up things about meetings with Ukraine to support the narrative. There is no length they won’t go to.

To all that, I’ve got this say: Impeach Trump.

Enough talk, more action. Americans are sick and tired of the baseless supposition, false reports, misleading characterizations, and gaslighting. It’s time to do this thing. If you were to poll me right now on whether I support impeachment, I’d answer yes, 100%. Democrats don’t get to do this for another year.

And no, I’m not talking about an “impeachment inquiry,” because those don’t actually exist. It’s nonsense posturing for what is actually just another committee investigation. Pass articles of impeachment, unleash the powers that come with that, and prove your case. Enough of Rashida Tlaib cussing about impeachment and Maxine Waters getting softball interviews on CNN. Give them what they want and put your money where your mouth is.

Nancy Pelosi is slow walking this on purpose. She knows there’s nothing there. It is not illegal, nor improper for a president to ask about an investigation into possible corruption. There was no quid pro quo or pressure. Just a short, passing request. It is also not illegal, nor improper for a president to store classified calls on a classified system after a myriad of leaks had harmed the administration. We are being told stopping at a stop sign is now a moving violation and I want to see Democrats defend all this out in the open.

So do it already. Make Trump’s day.

Republican lawmakers should support this as well. It’s time for them to stop being scared of their own shadow. Tell Democrats to impeach and put their game face on. We can’t live in this middle ground any longer. It’s ripping the country apart and destroying what little sanity was left in our legislative system. We’ve been dancing around this for almost three years now. Every day there’s some new scandal, some new push for impeachment. Let Schiff, Pelosi, Nadler, and whoever else actually defend themselves for once. No more Sunday shows and back slap sessions with Jake Tapper. That’s a cowards way out. If they want to take Trump out, it’s time for them to take their shot.

Enough of the soft coup, let’s get to the hard stuff.

Attention may finally be turning toward the question of just exactly what was Hunter Biden doing in Ukraine and China while his father Joe was Vice President and point man for the Obama administration on those countries.

But Democrats really don’t want you to hear it.

Even Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who is running for president in the primary against Joe Biden, came to his defense in a cringeworthy moment when questioned by the media as to what she thought. Would she approve of her Vice President’s son or daughter serving on the board of a foreign oil company as Hunter did?

“As far as I’m concerned, leave Joe Biden alone,” she said, claiming it’s a distraction (from the real goal of getting President Donald Trump). How dare people look at what Hunter Biden was doing in Ukraine and China while his dad was influencing critical decisions on those two countries!

One shouldn’t ask questions about the propriety of things like this:

Or why Hunter Biden would be appointed to a board of an energy company in Ukraine, receiving $50,000/month when he has no experience in the field.

Harris’ defense of Biden was just too much for former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Right on the money.

Democrats want to distract from the real issue, which is that they have countenanced this kind of thing, both with Biden and with the Clintons.

If a candidate running for president doesn’t see the problem with it and just wants to dismiss it, maybe that person really shouldn’t be running for president.

Good on Haley for calling it out.

The Democrats are Gaslighting Americans…Again

Westlake Legal Group nancy-pelosi-92nd-street-y-SCREENSHOT-620x358 The Democrats are Gaslighting Americans…Again Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky President Trump Nancy Pelosi Mainstream Media Joe Biden Impeachment of President Trump hunter biden Hillary Clinton Front Page Stories Featured Story corruption Congress Allow Media Exception Abuse of Power 2020

The Democrats have gaslighted Americans. The term “gaslighting” refers to the phenomenon in which “someone insists so strenuously on a false version of events that those listening start doubting the reality right in front of their eyes.” Over time, the victims start to believe the fiction which is being told to them. This technique has been used by dictators and tyrants throughout history as a means of gaining and maintaining power.

The events of the last week have a certain illusory quality about them. Facts don’t matter. The Democrats’ narrative matters.

They skate over the very real evidence that, at the very least, Hunter Biden’s cushy job and his appointment to the board of Burisma Holdings while his father, the Vice President of the United States at the time, served as the Obama administration’s “point man” in Ukraine, represented a conflict of interests. And that Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid to the country unless they fired their Prosecutor General. Evidence points to the fact that Shokin was about to investigate his son as the reason Biden wanted him fired. Biden maintains the reason was because he believed that Shokin was corrupt. Whatever the reason, the fact remains that Biden insisted that the Ukrainian President fire this man or he would hold back the funds which the country needed desperately.

Although existing evidence makes it pretty clear that Shokin was fired because he was about to interrogate Hunter Biden, I’m constructing a “least bad” scenario.

Fact 1: Hunter’s dealings represented a conflict of interest. The Obama Administration was concerned about the optics of this going into the 2016 election.

Fact 2: Biden leveraged U.S. aid to force the firing of a Ukrainian official.

Fact #1 shows poor judgement as opposed to a violation of the law.

Fact #2 may very well be a violation of the law. I am not a lawyer, but it does sound like extortion or bribery to me. At the very least, it’s unethical and corrupt and it’s something that would sway the decision of an American voter.

So, the Democrats, ignoring the Bidens’ actions, have taken the mendacious, second and third-hand claims of a highly partisan whistleblower (in name only) who hides behind the protection of his whistleblower status and they’ve gone from zero to impeachment.

The fact that President Trump immediately released the actual transcript of the call, showing how far removed the reality was from their dire and disingenuous fabrication, hasn’t stopped them. Though they would have preferred he hadn’t done so, they have continued on their mission to destroy his presidency.

The well-known Bible verse comes to mind: “Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?” (Matthew, 7)

The fact that Biden is a potential political rival of Trump’s is irrelevant. There is actual evidence of, at the very least, unethical conduct by both Bidens and quite possibly illegal activity.

Obama clearly wanted Hillary Clinton to succeed him in office in 2016. It was well-known he did everything he possibly could to discourage Biden from running. That made Donald Trump Obama’s political rival. The Obama FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation of their political rival based on a set of lies prepared by foreign ex-spy Christopher Steele whose work was paid for by the Democratic National Committee and his preferred candidate’s campaign. They went so far as to send spies into the Trump campaign. According to former U.S. attorney and current National Review writer Andrew McCarthy, only a president can order a counterintelligence investigation to be initiated. The mission to end Trump’s candidacy involved dozens of Obama Administration officials.

Contrast that with President Trump’s request to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into behavior that had the appearance of genuine impropriety and for which a past investigation had been ended for dubious reasons. The U.S. has a long-standing treaty with Ukraine which encourages cooperation in the investigation and prosecution of crimes. One might even argue that, knowing of the Bidens’ misdeeds, Trump had an obligation to get to the truth.

The Democrats are taking a huge political risk by trying to impeach Trump over such a minor issue. The reason may be the awareness that none of their current presidential candidates have a strong chance of defeating Trump in 2020.

Also, they know that DOJ IG Michael Horowitz’ report, due any day, will not be kind to them and that John Durham’s report will be a disaster for them. It will likely see many creatures of the deep state discredited and some in legal jeopardy.

For two years, they counted on the Mueller investigation to deliver the goods. When their hopes were dashed, they had to come up with something else. The clock is ticking.

They chose an especially weak “crime” which has been unraveling by the day.

Yet, with straight faces, they act as if Trump is the most heinous, dangerous politician in U.S. history. And this total fiction is reinforced 24/7 by the mainstream media.

Nancy Pelosi was interviewed over the weekend at the Texas Tribune Festival. She was interviewed by Evan Smith, the Tribune’s CEO and founder. They were discussing the possibility that impeachment could hurt Democrats’ chances of holding the House majority in 2020.

Smith asked, “do you have any anxiety at all about any of the stuff we’re talking about or anything that we’re not talking about impacting your ability to hold control of the House in 2020?

Pelosi replied, “Doesn’t matter.”

Smith found that to be an odd answer and said, “It doesn’t matter?”

To which the Speaker responded, “Our first responsibility is to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

I used to wonder if Democrats believe their own lies. I think now that they do. The anger and frustration which they have felt since the days of Trump’s candidacy has turned into rage and has completely consumed them. It’s made them sick inside.

They’re running out of time and their options are limited. So, they will continue trying to gaslight Americans although it’s not as effective since their Russian collusion conspiracy failed. They’ve become sloppy and reckless and many voters have caught on to them. So, they will continue their fight.

For what else can they do?

Trump, GOP Call for Action on Adam Schiff Fabricating Trump Quotes

On Thursday, during a live Committee hearing concerning President Donald Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) fabricated Trump quotes. Schiff pretended to read from a transcript of the Trump phone call with the president of the Ukraine and made up several false things.

Republicans are now taking action.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) introduced a motion in the House to censure Schiff which he explains during an appearance on Fox News. Biggs also noted how another one of the Democrats’ claims, that the conversation shouldn’t have been put on a secure server, fails. There was classified information on the call since Trump was discussing other nations with the Ukrainian president. That type of information, Biggs observed, is always classified. That in itself would justify putting it on the secure server in addition to the justifiable concern that the Trump administration has had about leaks.

President Trump also called on Schiff to resign.

According to PJ Media, Trump said that Schiff had “made up & twisted words into my call with the Ukrainian President to make it look like I did something very wrong.”

The president tweeted, Schiff “then boldly read those words to Congress and millions of people, defaming & libeling me. He must resign from Congress!”

He literally made up quotes from a conversation President Trump had with the leader of another nation, thereby not only undermining the President’s position at home but abroad too. America’s position is now weakened because of a) the content of Schiff’s lies and b) the publication of the transcript of a supposedly confidential conversation between two heads-of-state — a transcript that had to be released because of Rep. Schiff’s lies. Other leaders will now think twice before telling the president anything important for fear it might be leaked by Democrats in Congress and their allies in the CIA.

While claiming to care about Trump’s actions, Schiff is actually the one who put our national security in greater peril.

Schiff not only made those comments on Thursday, but he doubled down on the lies today on ABC with George Stephanopoulos, again claiming that Trump tried “to coerce that leader to manufacture dirt on his opponent and interfere in our election” which happened “at a time when the president is withholding hundreds of millions of dollars in assistance to Ukraine,” none of which was true.

And of course, that’s not the only problem when it comes to Schiff in this matter. He claimed to Stephanopoulos that once he found out about the complaint he went public and called for its release. But he only went public in the past week. He’s known about the complaint and may have even seen it since at least August 12. What he told Stephanopoulos today about that was untrue.

So what did Adam Schiff know and when did he know it?

Schiff has a long history falsehoods. It’s long past time that he be called on it.

Giuliani Defends Trump, Points a Finger at Biden and Barack. Collusion? And We’re Doomed

On Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures, Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani went to bat for the Commander-in-Chief and pointed to Barack and Biden in the process.

Rudy explained to host Maria Bartiromo that his function’s fairly elementary:

“My role is very, very simple. I’m a lawyer defending a client.”

The former mayor of New York also said he’s sniffin’ a lead on some stuff that could not only prove Trump was collusion-free in 2016, but would also finger Democrats as in cahoots with Ukraine:

“If you can prove that somebody else did it, or there’s some other explanation for it, then you pursue that vigorously.”

Rudy also addressed his part in looking into allegations that Joe Biden, when he was VP, threatened to withhold payment of a billion-dollar debt unless Ukraine fired top prosecutor Viktor Shokin:

“I wasn’t trying to get dirty information on Biden. Biden was in our way.”

Guiliani had with him an affidavit, in fact, in which Viktor confirmed he was pressured to resign because he wouldn’t drop a case against Burisma Holdings — the energy company on whose board Joe’s son, Hunter, was a member.

The statement specifically mentions Biden and the billion dollars.

Rudy also accused Hunter Biden of taking payment from China in order to curry favor from his dad.

Sound vaguely familiar? It does to Rudy:

“The pattern is a pattern of pay for play. It includes something very similar to what happened to the Clinton Foundation. Which goes to the very core of what did Obama know, and when did he know it?”

Additionally, he referenced a NYT piece from 2015 about the Hunter-Burisma-Ukraine connection:

“The question is when Biden and Obama saw that article, about how the son was pulling down money from the most crooked oligarch in Russia, did Obama call Biden in and say ‘Joe, how could you be doing this?’”

Not exactly a help to Joe’s anti-corruption message.

Furthermore, in response to a recent story that Rudy worked with attorneys Victoria Toensing and Joe DiGenova on digging up dirt on Biden, he claimed there was no such team-up, and the intel “was handed to [him] by the Ukranians.”

It’s a turbulent time, and impeachment is a-comin’ — maybe.

Would Giuliani testify if he was subpoenaed by the House?

That’d depend on the opinion of the man for whom he’s working:

“I’m his attorney, there’s something called attorney-client privilege. That has to be considered even if they don’t think he should have attorney-client privilege.”

As for calling for Ukraine to investigate Biden, Rudy created quite the ruckus just days ago when he gave a bit of a confusing answer to Don Lemon (see more here):

I have a feeling we’re slipping into madness.

Many times, I’ve theorized the Russia collusion investigation will never, ever end. Evidence of that crusade will be found drawn within caves by a future civilization on the other side of our destruction by cow farts, to be resurrected as a plague on those poor intergalactic saps. But now I’m thinking it’s transforming.

Russia is now Ukraine. What once was 2016 is 2020. And old is new and the never-ending saga of “Please, anybody — just anybody — invalidate this guy” — will be the screed written across the suckered faces of a generation forced to forever hear — and, sadly, write about — the great lunge without a landing.

Oy.
