Kirsten Dunst responds to ‘careless,’ ‘ignorant’ tweet referring to her as ‘Spider-Man’s girlfriend’

Kirsten Dunst responded to a tweet by news agency Reuters that condensed her acting career into just her role as “Spiderman’s [sic] girlfriend.”

Dunst played Mary Jane Watson opposite Toby Maguire’s Peter Parker in three “Spider-Man” films from 2002 to 2007. When the 37-year-old actress received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in August, Reuters posted a tweet that was quickly lambasted by fans of her many other roles.

KIRSTEN DUNST FEELS LIKE A ‘NOBODY’ IN HOLLYWOOD, SAYS SHE’S MORE THAN JUST THAT ‘BRING IT ON’ GIRL

“Kirsten Dunst, best known for her role as Spiderman’s [sic] girlfriend, receives a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame,” the since-deleted post read.

In a clip from her upcoming episode of “The Talk,” where she promotes her new Showtime series “On Becoming a God in Central Florida,” Dunst responded to the tweet directly.

She continued: “It was a very ignorant tweet and it was done probably very carelessly, by a man.”

When the tweet first ran, Dunst’s fans were quick to note that she’s had a long career with popular roles in films like “Bring it On,” “Jumanji,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous.” She was nominated for a Golden Globe for the 1994 film “Interview with the Vampire,” in 2011, she won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for “Melancholia” and in 2015, she was nominated for an Emmy for the FX show “Fargo.”

Behar jokes ABC should have ‘Dancing with the Liars’ show after Spicer’s debut

“The View” co-host Joy Behar seemed to poke fun at former White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Wednesday and slight her own network in the process.

She and her co-hosts were reacting to Spicer’s Tuesday appearance on “Dancing with the Stars,” an ABC show that features celebrities dancing alongside professionals.

“Here’s a good show for ABC: ‘Dancing with the Liars,'” she quipped. She was responding to co-host Sunny Hostin, who indicated that she couldn’t get past the image of Spicer hiding in bushes or defending President Trump’s claim about the crowd size for his inauguration.

“I just remember him lying for the liar,” Hostin said, referring to Trump. Co-hosts Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman took a different tone and appeared to defend Spicer.

SEAN SPICER TALKS ABOUT HIS ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ DEBUT AFTER HEADLINE-GRABBING FIRST APPEARANCE

McCain called Spicer a “really decent man” and said that she wasn’t angry because his participation in the show could be helping to put his kids through college.

More from Media

“He has children who are adopted. He’s a really decent man. He used to dress up like the Easter bunny at the Easter Egg Roll,” she said, referring to the annual White House event. She added that Spicer had a “really good heart” and used to be “really well-respected.”

Both Huntsman and McCain suggested that Spicer’s appearance showed how difficult life can be for people after leaving the Trump administration.

“This is a whole different version of Sean Spicer,” Huntsman said, noting she knew him while he served on the Republican National Committee. She added that “life after Trump is hard.”

When Huntsman said she thought Spicer would like to be taken seriously, Behar responded that “this is not the way to do it.”

McCain commented that anyone who entered the Trump administration was “gambling” with their reputation.

“I think it just goes to show that when you work in the Trump administration, there are some people that come out of it — and maybe they have a political future — or you can be on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and opening up Madame Tussauds.”

Sarah Sanders hopes latest Kavanaugh story will return liberal media to ‘true editorial process’

Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders hopes the revised, supposed bombshell piece concerning a resurfaced allegation of sexual assault by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh will spur the mainstream media to return to more responsible journalism.

Sanders, a Fox News contributor, said Monday on “Hannity” the media must revert to a “true editorial process” to gain back the respect of the American people.

“They’re still mad that he won in 2016, and they’re mad he’s winning every single day for this country,” she said.

“I think it is incredibly sad that the media and Democrats would rather see the president fail than our country succeed. I hope that they will start to learn from some of these major mistakes that have happened over the last couple of weeks and start holding people accountable — start putting some checks and balances, go back to where we have a true editorial process where they’re checking these things.”

NYT UPDATES KAVANAUGH ‘BOMBSHELL’ TO NOTE ACCUSER DOESN’T RECALL ALLEGED ASSAULT

Sanders claimed some members of the media wrongfully “push out” stories in hopes of damaging Trump or figures within his circle.

The press also has a penchant for closely examining the credibility of others when they should instead be looking inward, she said.

More from Media

“One of the biggest problems that the media has is they want to question everyone else’s credibility when the whole world is doubting theirs,” the Arkansas native said.

“The agenda of obstruction that they have against this president is completely out of control… They hate that he was able to start delivering on all the things that he said he was going to do — including a conservative court.”

On Sunday, The New York Times made a major revision to their Kavanaugh story — hours after virtually every 2020 Democratic presidential candidates had cited the original article as a reason to impeach Kavanaugh.

The update included the significant detail that several friends of the alleged victim, Harmon Joyce, said she did not recall the purported sexual assault in question at all. The Times also stated for the first time that the alleged victim refused to be interviewed, and has made no other comment about the episode.

Mark Levin blasts Dems, New York Times for trying to ‘intimidate’ Kavanaugh

The Democratic Party and the New York Times are united in their quest to intimidate people within President Trump’s orbit, as well as the commander-in-chief himself, according to Mark Levin.

The supposed bombshell from The Times on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is the latest development in that apparent mission, Levin claimed Monday on “The Mark Levin Show on Westwood One.”

“We have an effort now by The New York Times and the Democrats to try and intimidate and threaten a Supreme Court justice,” he said.

“No more talk about an ‘independent judiciary’.”

NYT UPDATES KAVANAUGH ‘BOMBSHELL’ TO NOTE ACCUSER DOESN’T RECALL ALLEGED ASSAULT

Levin added that Democrats and the mainstream media have been outraged whenever Trump questions a court decision — but are fine with disseminating scurrilous allegations against a justice.

“You heard a cacophony of howling hyenas in the media,” he said of blowback against Trump.

More from Media

“But here we have virtually every — not all — virtually every Democrat running for the presidential nomination of their party calling for the impeachment of Kavanaugh — they even don’t have all the facts.”

The “Life, Liberty & Levin” host added Democrats are using the term “impeachment” to stymie any official, including the president, with whom they disagree.

“This word… means anyone to whom they lose an election — anyone who winds up on a court who they don’t want to wind up on a court, they’re now threatening to remove them,” he said.

“This is the… mindset of the modern-day Democratic Party that celebrates AOC, Tlaib and Omar, and of course the Democratic Party press.”

“Their primary target is our president, but anyone in his orbit… anybody who dares to vote for him, support him, speak out for him needs to be destroyed,” he said of the media.

The former Reagan White House official continued, saying those repeatedly trying to damage Kavanaugh want to be in his head when he is writing his judicial opinions.

Sean Spicer debuts on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ shimmying to Spice Girls song in neon-green ruffled shirt

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer made his colorful and proudly outlandish “Dancing With the Stars” debut on Monday night wearing a neon-green ruffled shirt as he shimmied to the Spice Girls song “Spice up Your Life” in a salsa routine.

GIFs of Spicer started circulating on social media immediately following his performance. Many people also tweeted their reactions to his bold shirt.

Spicer’s energetic performance concluded with confetti and he got a standing ovation from the audience, but the show’s judges did not seem impressed, giving him a total score of 12 out of 30.

During the “Dancing With the Stars” 2019 premiere Monday, Spicer’s dance partner, Lindsay Arnold, said his skills were “pre-preschool-level.”

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer danced a salsa routine on his “Dancing With the Stars” debut.

He added that his hips were “set in cement,” but Spicer’s performance was “strangely entertaining.”

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba agreed with Tonioli that the performance was “strangely entertaining,” telling Spicer, “I will give you best florescent shimmy of the night.”

She added, “you were offbeat most of the dance, but you had fun.”

Spicer replied, “I did.”

Judge Len Goodman told Spicer, “you brought fun to the ballroom. Well done.”

Spicer called his coach Lindsay “patient” after his performance and said, “I had a blast doing this.”

“Every single person is going, haha, you are wearing this shirt,” Spicer said, adding that many likely thought the bright top was “payback.”

Last month, Spicer shot back at critics protesting his selection for the new season of “Dancing With the Stars.”

“I’m very comfortable with who I am,” Spicer told Mediaite after a New York Times critic and “DWTS” host Tom Bergeron pushed back on his inclusion in the show.

“I’ve never really cared what they think,” Spicer said of The Times. “I’m not going to care now.”

He told Fox News last month, “I think Tom has been a great host. And I firmly believe when the season is over he’s probably going to realize bringing a diverse group of people together, who can interact in a fun, civil and respectful way, is actually a way we can move the country forward in a positive way. And it will make this show an example of how Americans can disagree about politics and tune into good entertainment shows and keep their politics at bay.”

Spicer said he was approached about the dancing show after he left the White House in 2017, but he didn’t think the timing was right then to join the cast.

“This is an opportunity to have some fun,” Spicer told Mediaite. “I’m in this because I enjoy it.”
