Jesse Watters: Pelosi ‘throwing the left a bone’ with reported comment she wants to see Trump in ‘prison’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly said she wants to see President Trump behind bars — but is she telling the truth or just talking tough to appease her party?

Pelosi reportedly told senior Democrats on Tuesday that she ultimately wants to see President Trump “in prison,” according to Politico.

“I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” she said, according to multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting. House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings, Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal and Foreign Affairs Chairman Eliot Engel also reportedly attended the meeting.

But on “The Five” Thursday, co-host Jesse Watters suggested the speaker might not be telling the truth.

“She is just throwing the left a bone to make it seem like yeah, I want to get Trump really badly,” Watters said.

The “Watters World” host then laughed off Pelosi’s reported remarks.

IMPEACHMENT DAM BREAKING AS PELOSI DEPUTIES TIP HAND: ‘WE’VE ALREADY BEGUN’

Co-host Juan Williams said he believes Pelosi is focused on voting Trump out of the White House in 2020, rather than impeachment.

“She is not saying anything about impeachment. I think what she is saying really, we need to beat him in 2020,” Williams said. “And then once he is out of the White House, and with all his protections, at that point we can look and see what prosecution is possible.”

Grge Gutfeld similarly dismissed Pelosi’s reported comment as talk, before taking the opportunity to reveal the surprising group he would like to see in prison — Maroon 5.

“Everybody wants somebody to be in prison, right,” Gutfeld said to his co-hosts.

“You know how I feel about Maroon 5? I would like to see Maroon 5 in prison, Maximum security, away from any recording studio. I think she probably just threw it off… she just threw it out there.”

CNN host Don Lemon says his show and his network are not ‘liberal’

CNN host Don Lemon doesn’t believe his show — or his network — are “liberal.”

The CNN star offered up the assessment at an industry event on Thursday, Shortly after the remarks made their way to Twitter, many were quick to express their shock and surprise at the remarks.

“Don Lemon says CNN and his show aren’t ‘liberal’ — what do you think?” Ken Fisher tweeted.

the president a “conman-in-chief,” accused him of trying to “rewrite inconvenient facts,” and questioned his mental fitness.

Bill de Blasio: Dems too focused on trying to impeach Trump, but Mueller report showed ‘impeachable offenses’

Democrats should spend less time talking about impeaching President Trump and more time focusing on the things that really matter, according to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

De Blasio made the remarks Thursday on “Special Report” after being asked about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s comments during a closed-door meeting – in which the California Democrat considered the prospect of President Trump going to prison.

The mayor said his party needs to focus on doing their job for the American people instead of talking about punishing the president.

“First, I’d like to see Democrats focused on the needs of working people,” de Blasio said. “I think there’s too much talk about impeachment.

“I think there should be a lot more talk about what we’re going to do for working people.  Why don’t we as Democrats pass that infrastructure bill, help put people back to work.”

Baier followed up by asking whether Pelosi should have made the remarks about Trump and prison.

The mayor stopped short of criticizing the speaker in his response, before saying he believed the Russia investigation’s conclusion provided key evidence that could get the president in trouble and urged Democrats to investigate further.

“I would say all Democrats should say this, there needs to be a full investigation, the Mueller report offers lots of important evidence.  I believe ultimately there are impeachable offenses there,” the former city councilman from Brooklyn said.

Elizabeth Warren challenges Biden on abortion, says Trump should be ‘in handcuffs’

Elizabeth Warren in an Indiana town hall Wednesday night challenged Joe Biden on abortion, saying the 2020 Democratic frontrunner is wrong to not support the repeal of the Hyde Amendment – which prevents federal funding for ending pregnancies.

“I’ve lived in an America where abortions were illegal and understand this: Women still got abortions,” Warren, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, told host MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. “Now, some got lucky on what happened and some got really unlucky on what happened.”

Warren asserted that the Hyde Amendment disproportionately affects poor women.

“Women of means will still have access to abortions,” she said at Fort Wayne event. “Who won’t will be poor women, will be working women, will be women who can’t afford to take off three days from work, will be very young women who have been raped, will be women who have been molested by someone in their own family.”

WARREN’S REBOUND? MASSACHUSETTS SENATOR REGAINS FOOTING IN POLLS

Other 2020 Democratic presidential candidates like Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and Bernie Sanders of Vermont have also come out in favor of repealing the Hyde Amendment.

Biden, the former vice president and longtime U.S. senator from Delaware, voted for it in 1976 and recently said he still supports it.

In the hour-long MSNBC interview, she also said that after she finished reading the Mueller report she concluded that impeaching the president was necessary and if Trump were any other person he’d be “carried out in handcuffs.”

“Some things are bigger than politics,” she said. “This matters for our democracy — not just now, but under the next president, and the next president, and the next president.” She added that “no one is above the law.”

Warren had struggled to gain traction at the start of her presidential campaign but has gained in the polls in recent weeks.

Acting ICE director blasts AOC for wanting to abolish agency: ‘I would like to talk to that young congresswoman’

The acting director of ICE appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” Wednesday where he blasted Congress for inactivity regarding the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, saying lawmakers “refuse” to do what’s needed.

Mark Morgan, who took the job in early May after leading the U.S. Border Patrol, also defended ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) against those who would like to see it abolished, in particular, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

“If you talk about abolishing ICE, it is absolutely irresponsible,” Morgan told Ingraham. “Last year alone 34,000 criminal arrests, 5,000 gang members arrested. Thousands of cases of child smuggling exploitation, human trafficking.”

Morgan added, “I would like to talk to that young congresswoman and have her tell me what is going to happen if ICE is abolished.”

He also told host Laura Ingraham that Congress has been a major impediment against ICE accomplishing its goals at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“We’ve been sounding the alarm for a very long time that this is absolutely a humanitarian and national security crisis,” Morgan said. “Congress has failed to do their job.

MEXICO OFFICIALS PREPARE TO INTERCEPT ABOUT 1,000 MIGRANTS

“It is unbelievable to me that we’re still asking, across the board, what can Congress do,”  Morgan added, “when we’ve been telling Congress — the experts living this every single day from ICE to the Border Patrol, the CBP [Customs and Border Protection] — they need to pass meaningful legislation, they need to address the Flores agreement and they do that, fund some bed space and this crisis ends tomorrow.”

The Flores agreement refers to Reno v. Flores, a 1990s U.S. Supreme Court case that set standards for the treatment of minors detained by U.S. immigration authorities.

The Border Patrol’s apprehensions about migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border hit their highest level in more than a decade in May, as officials warned they don’t have the money and resources to address the surge of parents and children entering the U.S.

Agents apprehended 132,887 in May, the first time that apprehensions have topped 100,000 since April 2007. It set a record with 84,542 adults and children apprehended. Another 11,507 were children traveling alone, and 36,838 were single adults.

Morgan acknowledged dire situations involving facilities and supplies on the border with Mexico, saying conditions and facilities were unsafe and arguing that Congress refuses to help.

“Congress is still sitting on their hands,” Morgan said.

The mainstream media is no longer trying to be objective in their reporting, according to Mark Levin.

The host of Fox News’ “Life, Liberty & Levin” claimed Wednesday on “Hannity” that the media are trying to promote a progressive political platform.

“They have abandoned the pursuit of objectivity for social activism, progressivism, and the Democratic Party agenda. And, they promote that agenda day in and day out. In fact, they lead it,” Levin claimed.

TRUMP BLASTS MUELLER AS ‘HIGHLY CONFLICTED,’ CALLS IMPEACHMENT A ‘DIRTY, FILTHY, DISGUSTING WORD’

Levin said he believes the prevalence of the term “impeachment” in the day-to-day lexicon is not because of any actions on the part of President Trump, but because the media continues to cover the prospect of such a development.

“The reason we talk about impeachment today is not because the president committed any impeachable offenses, it is because the media and the Democratic Party want to remove him,” he said. “The reason we spent two-and-a-half years talking about collusion with Russia… [was] not because there was any evidence, but because this is what the media was pushing.”

“The reason we talk about impeachment today is not because the president committed any impeachable offenses, it is because the media and the Democratic Party want to remove him.”

— Mark Levin

The radio host continued, saying the right to freedom of the press was meant as a service to the American people and not a means to push any alleged agenda.

“It’s in there for the American people. Why do we have freedom of the press? We have freedom of the press to expand freedom of speech among the American people,” he said.

“The point of news and newsrooms is to give us the information through which we can make decisions about our families, our lives, our government, our country, so we can be informed.”

He added he believes the difference between commentators like himself and some reporters on network television is that he and hosts like Sean Hannity express to their audience when they have a political view on something.

“The difference is we’re transparent. We tell people who we are,” he said.

Washington’s “hyper-partisan” atmosphere is getting in the way of meaningful progress on approving a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, Tulsi Gabbard said.

Rep. Gabbard, D-Hawaii, reacted to the Democrat-led House passing the Dream and Promise Act, which would protect people covered by the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, in an interview Wednesday on “The Story.”

Gabbard, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, claimed the stark political divide is holding back Congress’ ability to help affected individuals receive a pathway to citizenship.

HOUSE PASSES BILL GIVING ‘DREAMERS’ PATH TO CITIZENSHIP, DESPITE TRUMP VETO THREAT

“The hyper-partisanship around this issue has gotten in the way of delivering a real solution,” she said. “This legislation and finding a solution for these Dreamers is something that has had bipartisan support.”

The Army veteran added Dreamers and DACA recipients are being unfairly treated through no fault of their own.

“This bill, passed with bipartisan support, seeks to address a deeply concerning issue about how people were brought here into this country as children with no choice of their own [and] have been living in fear and uncertainty with no path towards a future.”

She said those affected know only of their life in the U.S. and therefore should be treated better than they are.

“These people who have known no other country than the United States of America as their home, should have the opportunity to earn their citizenship. This bill provides the path to do that.”

Despite a veto threat from President Trump, House Democrats on Tuesday passed the Dream and Promise Act.

The 237-187 vote elicited chants of “Si Se Puede” or “Yes We Can” in the chamber. The measure is not likely to succeed in the GOP-led Senate, where other pieces of legislation advanced by Democrats on issues like gun controlhealthcare and climate change have languished in recent years.

Seven Republicans voted to support the bill, while all 187 “no” votes came from Republicans.

Senate Republicans must take action on immigration reform instead of allowing Democrats to prevent President Trump from securing the border, according to Mark Meadows.

On the House side, Republicans will continue to follow Trump’s lead on the issue, Rep. Meadows, R-N.C. said Wednesday on “The Todd Starnes Show.”

“If the president works, we’re going to stand with the president and we’re going to secure our border,” the House Freedom Caucus chairman said.

He criticized some Republican senators for taking issue with Trump’s decision to use tariffs against Mexico to get their assistance on the illegal immigration front.

“They passed a disaster relief [bill] out of the Senate, which we all know that many of our states needed that disaster relief,” Meadows said.

“But they also passed it without giving the president any money for border security measures. Now they want to blame the president for actually taking a tool that he has in his toolbox to make sure we secure the border.”

“They raise the cost of products for American families, reduce market share abroad for U.S. exporters and make our economy less competitive globally. History has shown us time and again that nobody wins a trade war,” the Pennsylvania lawmaker added.

“Trade policy and border security are separate issues,” Grassley said last week.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, R-Texas, were also critical of tariffs.

Rush Limbaugh: Pelosi frustrated with the ignorance of her own party on impeachment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is growing frustrated with her party’s call to impeach President Trump and is having a hard time dealing with the push back, according to conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

“She is hell-bent on making sure her party doesn’t do this, and that the various committees and that her base understand that this is not a good thing to do. And, apparently, she is getting frustrated beyond her ability to deal with it,” Limbaugh said on his radio show about Pelosi’s battle against impeachment within the Democratic Party.

Pelosi voiced her frustration with impeachment calls Wednesday during her weekly press conference.

“What’s important for people to know, first of all, I travel all the time in the country. Do you know that most people think impeachment means you’re out of office? Did you ever get that feeling or are you just in the bubble here? They think if you get impeached, you’re gone, and that is completely not true,” she said.

Limbaugh reacted to Pelosi’s comments, saying she should have used former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment proceedings as an example before bashing the Democratic voters calling for impeachment.

“Her voters don’t even know what it means. That’s how stupid they are. Wrong. It’s how dumbed down they are,” Limbaugh said. “She’s gotten so frustrated over the abject ignorance of the people that support her that she had to explain to them what it means — and then she had to admit that 50 years ago, she didn’t even know what it meant.”

The radio host explained that Pelosi is aware that if the president is not convicted, he is “not guilty” and the Democratic Party will face an exonerated Trump in the 2020 elections.

“I don’t think she really wants to do it. Properly said, I think she really doesn’t want to do it because she can’t get a conviction out of it,” Limbaugh said.
