Megan Rapinoe rips Trump WH visit, says she’d accept invites from Pelosi, AOC

U.S. Women’s Soccer superstar Megan Rapinoe doubled down in her opposition to visit the Trump White House on Tuesday but expressed that she was open to accept invitations from anyone who “believes the same things we believe in” like Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY.

Rapinoe’s feud with the president began last month when she declared she was “not going to the f—ing White House,” which prompted a response from Trump on Twitter.

“I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job!” Trump exclaimed, later adding that he would invite the team to the White House “win or lose.”

Following her team’s victory at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Rapinoe told CNN anchor Anderson Cooper that she has yet to receive a formal invitation from the White House nor does she appear to want it.

MEGAN RAPINOE EXPLAINS THE ‘SCIENCE’ BEHIND THE US TEAM’S WOMEN’S WORLD CUP WIN

“I don’t think anyone on the team has any interest in lending the platform that we’ve worked hard to build and the things that we fight for and the way that we live our life,” Rapinoe said, “I don’t think we want that to be co-opted or corrupted by this administration… There are so many other people that I would rather talk to and have meaningful conversations that can really affect change in Washington than going to the White House.”

When asked if she had a message for the president, she took a moment to ponder.

“Your message is excluding people. You’re excluding me. You’re excluding people that look like me. You’re excluding people of color. You’re excluding Americans that maybe support you,” she told Trump. “We need to have a reckoning with the message that you have and what you’re saying about ‘Make America Great Again.’ I think you are harking back to an era that was not great for everyone.”

Rapinoe urged the president that he has an “incredible responsiblity” to “take care of every single person and you need to better for everyone.”

After her icy words for Trump, she spoke warmly about potential meetings with Democratic lawmakers in a future trip to Washington D.C.

“This is such a special moment for us and to be able to sort of leverage this moment, talk about the things we want to talk about and to celebrate like this with the leaders of our country is an incredible moment,” Rapinoe continued. “So yes to AOC, yes to Pelosi, yes to a bipartsan Congress, yes to Chuck Schumer, yes to anyone else that wants to invite us and have a real substantive conversation and that believe in the same things we believe in.”

Charlie Hurt: Joe Biden has been ‘part of the problem in DC for 50 years’

Former Vice President Joe Biden constant push to become president has made him a big part of the problem with the federal government, according to Charlie Hurt.

In his time in D.C., Biden’s main focus has been trying to win his way to the Oval Office, Hurt claimed Tuesday on “The Story.”

“People forget Joe Biden has been part of the problem in Washington for nearly 50 years,” he said.

“The entire time he’s been in Washington, he’s been trying to figure out how to become president. He’s run a couple of times and it’s been disastrous.

BIDEN MAKES ANOTHER EYEBROW-RAISING CAMPAIGN PROMISE

“The closest he’s ever gotten to the White House is when Barack Obama needed somebody that fit his description. It’s a good reminder that he really is kind of bad at this.”

Looking at past elections, the Washington Times opinion editor added the current crop of more liberal Democratic candidates resembles a candidate from the 2004 presidential election.

Hurt said many Democratic voters didn’t like then-President George W. Bush, but instead of immediately coalescing around a centrist Democrat, they sought politicians like former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.

“They ran off with Howard Dean for a long time, and then at the last minute they were reminded electability was the only thing they cared about, so they jumped into the arms of John Kerry,” he said. “Of course it didn’t work out so well.”

On the campaign trail, Biden recently raised eyebrows with his latest campaign promise — this time, pledging to cut prison incarceration by “more than” 50 percent.

Speaking with an ACLU member at a campaign event on in South Carolina over the weekend, Biden was asked about the initiative being headed by the organization to develop a “roadmap for cutting incarceration by 50 percent.”

“Do you commit to cutting incarceration by 50 percent?” the man, who identified himself as an ACLU member, asked.

“More than that,” Biden responded. “We can do it more than that.”

Greg Gutfeld: Pelosi’s ‘heart isn’t even in’ her ‘overdone’ racial smear against Trump

Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and her assertion that the controversial Census question about illegal immigration is racist, pointing out the absurdity of her argument.

“So counting now is racist. Is accounting racist?” Gutfeld asked sarcastically on “The Five” Tuesday. “When someone gets an I.D…. for beer is that racist? If you’re filling out a job application is that racist? Anytime information is asked, will now be considered racist?”

“This is, it’s so overdone now that it’s becoming background noise.”.

The comments came after Pelosi slammed the Trump administration for its ongoing efforts to include a citizenship question in the 2020 U.S. Census, suggesting there’s a racial component by invoking President Trump‘s 2016 campaign motto.

TOP DEMOCRAT ON HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS PANELS WILL FIGHT TO OPPOSE TRUMP CITIZENSHIP QUESTION ON CENSUS

During Monday’s press conference on election security, Pelosi called President Trump’s battle over the census “disgraceful,” pointing to his Supreme Court setback that rejected the administration’s argument for having a question about citizenship in the census.

“This is about keeping — you know, ‘Make America’- his hat? Make America White Again,” she continued. “They want to make sure that people — –certain people are counted. It’s really disgraceful and it’s not what our Founders had in mind.”

But Gutfeld wasn’t buying it, even going so far as to accuse Pelosi of not believing her own comments saying her “heart wasn’t even in it” and trying to reach younger members of her party.

“One minute Pelosi is this seasoned pro that understands working with people. And the next thing she throws on the social justice warrior costume is a Gramps putting on board shorts to go skateboarding at the wharf,” Gutfeld said.

Jesse Watters: CNN Democratic debate lottery a ‘gimmick,’ Lemon should not moderate

CNN’s decision to use a televised lottery in determining its 2020 Democratic presidential debate lineups is a ratings ploy, according to Jesse Watters.

Furthermore, primetime host Don Lemon is the wrong fit for an objective moderator, Watters claimed Tuesday on “The Five.”

“As far as the lottery thing goes, it’s a gimmick,” he said. “They’ve lost about 20 percent of their primetime audience and our primetime audience more than triples them.”

Watters also said he believed the second set of Democratic debates are too important to be decided by a random, televised lottery.

CNN DOES ‘DISSERVICE TO VOTERS’ BY NAMING DON LEMON DEBATE MODERATOR, CRITIC SAYS

“It is too consequential of a debate for the Democrats and for the American people to have it left up to chance,” he said.

Additionally, Watters claimed Lemon is too biased to be given the tacit credibility of a debate moderator.

“He seems like a nice guy,” Watters said of the 53-year-old Louisiana native.

“But he is an opinion host, he’s not a straight shooter.”

Lemon will join Dana Bash and Jake Tapper for the two-night event on July 30-31 from Detroit. Debate moderators are historically straight-news journalists, as opposed to partisan pundits.

The “Watters’ World” host said he saw Lemon as too reminiscent of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow — who co-moderated the last set of debates — adding Anderson Cooper would be a better fit among Bash and Tapper.

On July 18, CNN will reveal its lineups for the debates scheduled later this month.

Sanders reacts to Steyer’s 2020 bid: ‘Tired of seeing billionaires trying to buy political power’

Westlake Legal Group Steyer-Sanders-AP Sanders reacts to Steyer's 2020 bid: 'Tired of seeing billionaires trying to buy political power' Sam Dorman fox-news/politics/2020-presidential-election fox-news/person/tom-steyer fox-news/person/bernie-sanders fox-news/entertainment/media fox news fnc/politics fnc dcf2958c-037d-5382-ad38-dabafdebf38d article

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., doesn’t seem all that thrilled at liberal megadonor Tom Steyer’s decision to throw his hat in the ring for the 2020 presidential election.

“I like Tom personally,” Sanders told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday, while also lamenting the expanding wealth of America’s “billionaire class”. “But I do have to say as somebody who in this campaign has received two million campaign contributions, averaging I believe $19 a person, I am a bit tired of seeing billionaires trying to buy political power.”

When Steyer announced his bid on Tuesday, he emphasized reducing corporate influence in politics. Touting his record “as an outsider,” Steyer noted that “I’ve led grassroots efforts that have taken on big corporations and won results for people. That’s not something you see a lot of from Washington these days. That’s why I’m running for President.”

But Sanders indicated that Steyer might raise red flags among Americans concerned about economic inequality.

FOX’S CHRIS STIREWALT ON ALLEGED 2020 BID: ‘TOM STEYER CAN DROP 100 MILLION DOLLARS ON THIS RACE RIGHT NOW’

“I think the American people understand that one of the great problems facing American society today is that we have a billionaire class which is getting richer and richer while the working class of this country is struggling and in fact has been decimated over the last 45 years,” Sanders told MSNBC.

Sanders went on to call for “public funding” of elections, pointing to how some people wanted the Supreme Court to overturn the Citizens United decision.

“People are sick and tired of big money in politics … Billionaires — and this is not just Tom Steyer — billionaires should not be able to spend unlimited sums of money trying to buy elections,” he said. Fellow progressive and 2020 hopeful, Sen. Elizabeth Warren D-Mass., seemed to also push back on Steyer’s run, tweeting that the primary shouldn’t be “decided by billionaires.”

Steyer, a 62-year-old former hedge fund manager, has become a force in national politics. Five years ago he created NextGenAmerica, a grassroots advocacy organization that helped drive the youth vote in 2018, helping the Democrats win back the House of Representatives. And over the past two years, he’s become one of the ringleaders in the push to impeach Trump — through his ‘Need to Impeach’ movement.

His call for impeachment didn’t sit very well with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who in July of 2018 said she wished her “friend” Steyer would instead focus his spending on opposing Trump’s tax reform bill.

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh warned the “lunacy” of the “left” should be a concern for people and speculated that if former Vice President Joe Biden does secure the Democratic nomination that the party will “fall apart.”

“We’re past the point of no return on this,” Limbaugh told his listeners on Tuesday. “We’re past the point of thinking that it’s peaked, that it’s gonna start rolling back.

“It hasn’t peaked yet. Meaning this perversion, wackiness, lunacy on the left.”

Limbaugh was reacting to a tweet posted by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., reacting to recent events in the news over the last week.

“In just the last 7 days we have decided that the Betsy Ross flag is offensive, to kick police officers out of Starbucks, boycott Nike (again) Starbucks (again) & now HomeDepot. And to lick Ice Cream at grocery stores & put back in freezer,” Rubio tweeted.  “Has everyone gone crazy?”

The radio host responded to the tweet saying that many have underestimated the “left,” and noted that no one pushed back until President Trump came along.

“The left is totally crazy. They have been totally crazy for a long time. And too many people have looked at it as just a fringe minority that doesn’t pose any kind of new existential threat, and that’s just not accurate. They have been threatening and posing a threat for years. And there hasn’t been any pushback until Trump came along,” Limbaugh said.

Limbaugh further said the Democratic party will nominate someone who “believes all this stuff” and predicted if Biden is nominated the party will “fall apart” but the movement will continue.

Bret Baier: Trump administration will consider ‘retooling’ citizenship question

Bret Baier has argued that the Trump administration will continue to push for inclusion of the controversial citizenship question on the 2020 census, despite being thwarted by the Supreme Court last week.

It was ruled last month the question couldn’t be added for now, but left open the possibility that additional arguments could change its mind. Civil rights groups argued that the Trump administration’s reasons for including the question were merely pretextual efforts to discourage illegal immigrants from responding to the Census.

“There’s a possibility of retooling it and going a different way at it,” Baier said during a Tuesday appearance on “The Daily Briefing With Dana Perino.”

CAL THOMAS: CENSORING THE CENSUS IS ABOUT POLITICS, NOT THE LAW

“The administration, at the president’s guidance, will try to do that,” the “Special Report” host continued.

The Commerce Department has previously said that the deadline to begin the process of printing census forms was June 30, but President Trump has made clear his desire to delay census printing until the question is included.

“I have asked the lawyers if they can delay the Census, no matter how long, until the United States Supreme Court is given additional information from which it can make a final and decisive decision on this very critical matter,” he tweeted on June 27, the day the decision was handed down.

The question was controversial and the subject of several lawsuits after many lawmakers argued that residents who are not living legally in the United States would simply not return the census – leading to misappropriation of resources and improper political representation.

Population counts from the Census are used to apportion House seats among the 50 states, and a new electoral map based on the Census will be in effect for the 2024 presidential election. States receive votes in the Electoral College equal to the number of members in their congressional delegation, counting both House and Senate seats.

Jeffrey Epstein alleged crimes are worse than Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and comedian Bill Cosby, and arguably the worst of the #MeToo era, according to best-selling author James Patterson.

Patterson, who wrote the book on Epstein — Filthy Rich: The Billionaire’s Sex Scandal–The Shocking True Story of Jeffrey Epstein, discussed the disgraced financiers accused acts during an interview on “The Daily Briefing” on Tuesday.

Epstein was charged this week with sex trafficking and conspiracy during the early 2000s. He pleaded not guilty on Monday in New York City federal court.

“It’s horrifying… these are girls, allegedly hundreds of girls,” Patterson told host Dana Perino while discussing the charges against Epstein. The veteran author then told Perino he had been told personally that President Trump kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida after learning of an alleged incident with a staff member.

“There were some complaints about Epstein at Mar-a-Lago,” he said. “I spoke to the head of the sap there. I said, ‘did you ever meet Epstein?’ She said, ‘oh yes… he was inappropriate with some of the younger women there.’

“She said she went to Trump and he threw him out of the club.”

Patterson told Perino that hundreds of people have come up to him and thanked him for writing his book “Filthy Rich” on Epstein. The author also speculated that Epstein would get significant time behind bars, saying: I would be surprised if Epstein didn’t spend a fair amount of time in jail.”

Epstein’s case has created a flurry of media coverage and prompted questions about the president and others’ relationships with the accused sex offender.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump said he was “not a fan” of Epstein, despite making comments in the past praising the wealthy hedge fund manager.

AG BARR WILL NOT RECUSE HIMSELF FROM EPSTEIN CASE, DESPITE INITIAL STATEMENT

During a meeting in the Oval Office with the emir of Qatar, the president was asked about his relationship with the 66-year-old.

“I know him, just like everybody in Palm Beach knew him,” Trump said. “People in Palm Beach knew him. He was a fixture in Palm Beach.”

“I had a falling out with him a long time ago,” Trump continued. “I don’t think I’ve spoken to him in 15 years. I was not a fan. I was not a fan of his. That I can tell you. I was not a fan.”

BILL CLINTON ‘KNOWS NOTHING’ ABOUT EPSTEIN’S ‘TERRIBLE CRIMES’

Back in 2002, when New York Magazine was profiling Epstein, Trump touted their relationship.

“I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with,” Trump reportedly said. “It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

Epstein and Trump were said to have been friends—something the president’s legal team has denied.

Epstein was also once friends with former President Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew.

Clinton, on Monday, released a statement acknowledging that he had taken a total of four trips on Epstein’s private jet, but said he “knows nothing” about the “terrible crimes” linked to Epstein.

Separately, claims in court showed that Trump may have flown on the jet at least once as well.

On “Daily Briefing,” Patterson said nobody knew of Epstein’s alleged crimes, despite him being a well-known figure.

“Nobody knew. You can’t do something like that. If anybody knows — I have friends in town right now. They live on the street. They didn’t know. They lived two houses away,” he said.

The best-selling author then said he believes Clinton did not know, and he “knows Trump didn’t know.”

Epstein was charged this week with sex trafficking and conspiracy during the early 2000s. Epstein pleaded not guilty on Monday in New York City federal court.

“The victims described herein were as young as 14 years old at the time they were abused…and were, for various reasons, often particularly vulnerable to exploitation,” prosecutors wrote in court documents. “Epstein intentionally sought out minors and knew that many of his victims were in fact under the age of 18.”

Epstein allegedly created and maintained a “vast network” and operation from 2002 “up to and including” at least 2005 that enabled him to “sexually exploit and abuse dozens of underage girls” in addition to paying victims to recruit other underage girls.

Prosecutors also allege Epstein “worked and conspired with others, including employees and associates” who helped facilitate his conduct by contacting victims and scheduling their sexual encounters with the 66-year-old at his mansion in New York City and Palm, Beach, Fla.

Victims would be paid hundreds of dollars in cash by either Epstein or one of his associates or employees, according to prosecutors. The 66-year-old also allegedly “incentivized his victims” to become recruiters by paying the victim-recruiters hundreds of dollars for each girl brought to him.

A whopping 76.7 of conservatives don’t trust that Facebook treats all of its user equally, regardless of political beliefs, according to a new poll.

The Media Research Center’s TechWatch published findings of the poll, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates, on Tuesday.

“More than three-fourths of conservatives don’t trust Facebook,” TechWatch’s Corinne Weaver wrote.

The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters – 359 of them were self-described conservatives — on June 18-24 and 63.4 percent of all participants expressed a lack of trust when it comes to Facebook. Only 23 percent said they trust the tech giant, while 13.2 percent don’t know either way.

But Facebook isn’t the only tech giant deemed untrustworthy, as 60.6 percent of conservative participants said they do not trust Google, either, along with 47.9 percent of all participants.

The surveyed also asked participants if they trusted Twitter and 63.2 percent of conservatives responded that they do not. But it appears voters on both sides of the aisle are skeptical of Twitter, as 53 percent of all participants said they don’t trust the social media giant.

“Conservatives feared that Facebook, Google, YouTube, and Twitter had too much control over their users. 48.3 percent of them answered that Big Tech had ‘too much control over what information people see’,” Weaver wrote.

The study revealed that 40 percent of conservative feel tech companies have too much personal information, 48.3 percent feel they control too much information and 38.4 percent of conservatives feel tech companies censor certain political views.

The survey also revealed that roughly 38 percent of all participants feel “tech companies like Facebook, Google, and Amazon have become so big and powerful” they should be broken up, while 22.8 percent said they did not have an opinion.
