Fans are raving over this local hardware store’s $130 commercial: ‘Best Christmas ad of the year’

Westlake Legal Group Hafod-Hardware Fans are raving over this local hardware store’s $130 commercial: ‘Best Christmas ad of the year’ Julius Young fox-news/entertainment/tv fox-news/entertainment/media fox-news/entertainment fox news fnc/entertainment fnc c12de8d2-01e4-539a-8564-ac4af3457ef9 article

Fans couldn’t get enough of a local hardware store’s holiday commercial and are dubbing the adorable spot the “best Christmas ad of the year.”

Spending less than $150 to create the viral ad, Hafod Hardware — a family-owned business in Rhayader, Wales –premiered the ad on Monday and was immediately inundated with praise for its quality and creativity, given its budget.

The ad shows two-year-old Arthur managing the hardware shop owned by his father, Tom Jones; it follows the boy as he goes about the day-to-day duties operating the family business as the shop’s “owner.”

Arthur wakes up and gets himself ready for the day ahead as he enjoys breakfast before making his way to the shop.

TOM SHILLUE OFFERS THE TREAL REASON BEHIND THE PELOTON AD OUTRAGE: ‘EXPRESSIVE EYEBROWS’

Arthur then sets up for the day, putting the “open” sign on the sidewalk and sweeping the floors. The boy repairs tools and wraps a customer’s purchase in holiday-themed paper as he offers the patron a “thumbs up” after his admirable gift wrap job.

PELOTON ACTOR SPEAKS OUT ABOUT ROLE IN CONTROVERSIAL AD

The day progresses with Arthur crunching numbers on a calculator while the camera pans to his coloring book and ends with a young Arthur exiting the store for the day while carrying a moderately-sized Christmas tree back home. The words “Be a kid this Christmas” appear at the bottom of the screen of the 2-minute piece.

The BBC reported that the store had been making holiday ads for the past seven years, but this latest release seems to be the most-appreciated one so far.

“Absolutely beautiful! Brought a tear to my eye, [and a] smile to my face. Best Christmas ad of the year,” wrote one Twitter user. Another person echoed the sentiment, writing, “This must be my favorite advert in some time. It beautifully captures something adverts tend to miss. It touches home to those who appreciate family, hard work, being a kid and Christmas.”

‘PELOTON HUSBAND’ CONFUSED BY VIRAL FAME: ‘I’M GRAPPLING WITH THE NEGATIVE OPINIONS’

Speaking to Wales Online, Jones said the video features four generations of his family and was shot in a single day, with assistance from a pal who is a filmmaker. He said his only expense for creating the ad was the approximately $131 he spent for permission to use a cover of the 1984 Alphaville smash, “Forever Young.”

In discussing his son’s performance in the film-like advertisement, Jones couldn’t contain his excitement about the final product.

“He was so good,” Jones said. “They say never work with animals or children but he was a joy — I’m bursting with pride.”

“People have come to the shop to say how much they love it,” Jones added. “It’s really, really nice.”

Hillary Clinton clears up ‘lesbian’ rumors, tells Howard Stern: ‘I actually like men’

Hillary Clinton sat down for an interview with shock jock Howard Stern on Wednesday. So, perhaps predictably, the conversation strayed to some unusual topics.

At one point, for example, Stern asked the former secretary of state if she had ever engaged in a “lesbian affair.”

“Never, never, never!” Clinton quickly answered, according to the Washington Times. “Never even been tempted, thank you very much.”

BRAD PARSCALE ACCUSES HILLARY CLINTON OF LYING ABOUT TRUMP BEING ‘SHOCKED’ DURING 2016 CONCESSSION CALL

“Well, contrary to what you might hear,” Clinton had said earlier, “I actually like men.”

She added that prior to dating Bill Clinton, she never seemed to have trouble attracting male admirers, according to the Times.

The interview was a coup of sorts for Stern, who had written in his most recent book, “Howard Stern Comes Again,” earlier this year that he regretted not being able to book Clinton as a guest in the past.

“I don’t think I’ve ever tried harder to get a guest than I did with Hillary Clinton in the run-up to the 2016 election,” Stern wrote, according to The Daily Beast. He added that had he been able to interview Clinton, she may have gone on to defeat Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton’s Wednesday interview with Howard Stern marked a coup for the radio host, who claims he had long wanted Clinton as a guest for his program.

“To some people it wouldn’t have mattered what we talked about. Just the fact that she had the guts to show up might’ve done the trick,” Stern added. So why didn’t she? I’ll tell you why. She was afraid. She got tight. She thought it was in the bag, and she thought, ‘I could go talk to Howard and really screw things up.’ “She thought it was a gamble. In my mind, the gamble was not coming on the show. I was right. Had she done the show, it might’ve changed the election.”

Clinton also took a shot at Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, answering it was a “fair question” when Stern suggested Graham may have “sold his soul to the devil” in supporting President Trump.

“What I don’t understand is how he went from being the friend and the real confidant of the Maverick — John McCain — who I didn’t agree with politically, but I found him to be a man of integrity, a man of real strength and conviction,” Clinton said, according to USA Today. “I don’t know what’s happened to Lindsey Graham.”

She also said she was “disappointed,” but not “upset,” that Bernie Sanders didn’t exit the 2016 presidential race sooner, giving her a less bumpy ride to the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

“I hope he doesn’t do it again to whoever gets the nomination” in 2020, she added.

Clinton spoke with Stern as part of her promotion of her book, “Gutsy Women,” co-written with daughter Chelsea Clinton.

Devin Nunes on his lawsuit against CNN: Report is the ‘absolute definition of fake news’

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., discussed his $435 million defamation lawsuit against CNN in an interview Tuesday on “Hannity.

Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, told host Sean Hannity a story the network recently published reporting that he met with Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin last year in Vienna in order to dig up “dirt” on former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden was “demonstrably false”

Shokin was the prosecutor Biden mentioned in a now-famous clip, in which he recalled threatening to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees if then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko did not fire him:

DEVIN NUNES SUES CNN FOR $435M OVER ‘FALSE AND DEFAMATORY’ UKRAINE STORY

“‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a b-tch, he got fired,” Biden said on the tape.

On “Hannity,” Nunes said he has been to Vienna but that he was not there in 2018, contrary to the story by CNN reporter Vicky Ward.

The congressman showed pictures of himself visiting Benghazi, Libya, and the island nation of Malta during that time.

“When they said I was in Vienna, I was in Benghazi,” he said, adding he was meeting with Libyan military officer General Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, leader of the Libyan National Army.

The visit to Malta, Nunes claimed, was for a “repatriation ceremony” after the remains of a soldier were found in the Mediterranean Sea.

“I was not meeting with Ukrainians in Vienna in December 2018 … They shouldn’t be listening to somebody who’s been indicted. It’s really really bad on their part. It’s reckless,” he added, referring to CNN’s source for the story, Lev Parnas, a man recently indicted by the U.S. government and charged with multiple federal crimes.

DEVIN NUNES DOUBLES DOWN ON PROMISE TO TAKE CNN AND DAILY BEAST TO COURT: ‘IT SHOULD BE FUN’

The CNN story said Parnas’ attorney told them his client was willing to tell Congress about Nunes’ travels. The lawsuit includes a tweet sent by MSNBC justice and security analyst Matthew Miller, who publicly questioned Parnas’ credibility.

“This is [the] absolute definition of fake news,” Nunes said. “We need to go to a jury trial and let a jury decide whether or not what’s been done here is appropriate.”

He accused the Atlanta-based news network of having an “ax to grind” with him over his politics, claiming its reporters have been “chasing [him] around in the Capitol … always with smears, always with lies, always with fake news.”

Nunes added he has held to a personal “rule” governing CNN reporters: “Until you retract [the story], I’m not acknowledging any question that you give me in this lifetime or the next lifetime.”

The 47-page lawsuit, filed in Alexandria, Va. federal court accuses the network of publishing “numerous egregiously false and defamatory” statements about Nunes on Nov. 22, 2019, when Ward reported the claims about Shokin and the meeting in Austria.

The suit also named Ward and primetime host Chris Cuomo, the brother of New York’s governor. Cuomo, the suit alleges, helped promote the article.

Tucker Carlson: Kamala Harris’ ‘synthetic’ campaign was proof the media can ‘sell almost anything’

Westlake Legal Group 694940094001_6112176108001_6112174956001-vs Tucker Carlson: Kamala Harris' 'synthetic' campaign was proof the media can 'sell almost anything' fox-news/us/us-regions/west/california fox-news/shows/tucker-carlson-tonight fox-news/politics/elections/democrats fox-news/person/kamala-harris fox-news/media/fox-news-flash fox-news/media fox-news/entertainment/media fox news fnc/media fnc f5a6ae81-484b-55a3-9d2f-6c7d89aa5316 Charles Creitz article

Tucker Carlson looked back on Sen. Kamala Harris’, D-Calif., 2020 presidential campaign Tuesday, calling it proof that the mainstream media can sell the public almost anything, at least for a little while.

During his opening monologue on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the host posited that Harris’ bid to unseat President Trump was, “for a brief, but electric moment, the single most profound and transformative — if entirely scripted and corporate — political movement in the history of this country.”

He pointed to numerous political pundits and cable news hosts who heralded Harris’ campaign, which kicked off in January with a large rally in Oakland.

Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne said at the time that Harris sounded like former President Barack Obama, while CNN’s Kyung Lah claimed Harris “wants to speak truth and to defend the America she says she knows and believes in.”

KAMALA HARRIS DROPS OUT OF PRESIDENTIAL RACE

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell had called Harris “one of the top-tier candidates” and his colleague Chris Matthews claimed Trump “must be envious as hell” of her rally crowds.

To those and other commentators, Carlson said their comments are “a measure of the media’s ability — at least in the short term — to sell almost anything, even something as synthetic … as the Kamala Harris For President campaign.

Carlson noted that, early in the race, Harris appeared to dominate a debate via a viral exchange with former Vice President Joe Biden. The former Delaware senator had recently discussed his work with segregationist former Sens. James Eastland, D-Miss., and Herman Talmadge, D-Ga. In 1975, Biden had worked with the late Sen. Jesse Helms, R-N.C., on an anti-busing measure.

During that debate, Harris told Biden she had been a student at a then-recently-integrated school and had depended on busing.

In the wake of the exchange, Carlson said, Harris enjoyed a fleeting spike in support.

“But soon, it evaporated. Voters realized that making Joe Biden look bad isn’t actually much of an accomplishment — it’s not that hard,” he said.

During his monologue, Carlson added that Harris had blamed her campaign woes on the “elephant in the room” — in that American may not be ready for “a woman, and a woman of color, to be president of the United States.”

“Joe Biden, who is white, is getting far more support from black voters than Kamala Harris ever did — so that means that America is racist? How exactly does that work?” the host asked.

“Logic is bigotry.”
