Biscuits and Gravy — the two-faced kitten who gained an instant Internet following when he was born in Oregon last week — has died, his owners announced Sunday.

“He was born with the longest of odds and by living nearly 4 days, he beat those odds,” an owner of Biscuits and Gravy announced on an Instagram page devoted to the feline.

Former U.S. women’s national soccer team goalie Hope Solo revealed Saturday that her dog Conan died after being shot earlier in the week.

Solo wrote in a tweet that Conan died from blood loss. She had originally feared the dog was going to have to lose a leg.

“We‘re brokenhearted to share that Conan passed away from blood loss last night. He fought up until the very end,” Solo tweeted.

“We’re crushed. Just a dog running through the woods, trying to make his way home. We bought our 60-acres so our dogs have space to run and live their most full lives.”

Solo added that Conan was only 30 yards off of her property before he was shot.

“As animal lovers we are struggling to make sense of anyone using their right to own guns to shoot pets of any kind. We have had pets come onto our property and always helped them get home safe,” she wrote.

In 2015, Solo talked about Dobermans in an interview with People magazine.

“Jerramy always says, ‘Dobermans remind me of you. They’re loyal, regal and people are scared of them,’” Solo said at the time. “But they wouldn’t hurt a fly and Sasha is pretty much scared of everything.”

Solo, 38, a native of Washington state, gave birth to twins in March, named Vittorio Genghis Stevens and Lozen Orianna Judith Stevens, and shared photos of them on Instagram.

Solo played on the U.S. national team from 2000 to 2016, sharing in a World Cup victory and winning two Olympic gold medals. She also played on numerous club teams in the U.S. and Europe before retiring in 2016.

Arizona bee swarm kills three dogs, fire officials say

An aggressive bee swarm attacked and killed three dogs in Arizona on Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

The bees reportedly attacked the dogs in the southeast area of Tucson, forcing fire crews to foam the aggressive insects in an effort to kill and contain the swarm.

“We never enjoy killing precious bees, but in these rare cases, it is necessary,” the Tucson Fire Department said on Twitter. “Continue to avoid the area.”

After the attack, fire officials originally believed the dogs would just have a “tough few days ahead of them” after they were moved to a safe area that shielded them from the insects. That changed when the canines died shortly after arriving at a local veterinarian clinic, according to the department.

The bees reportedly took shelter in a neighboring shed before orchestrating the fatal attack.

“Please be mindful of your animals always, but particularly when there are bees on your property,” the department wrote.

PANIC OVER ‘MURDER HORNETS’ LEADING SOME PEOPLE TO KILL ESSENTIAL BEE POPULATION, EXPERTS WARN

Bee swarms have been a problem in Arizona, usually occurring during the spring and summer when the weather starts to warm up, according to Mesa Fire Capt. Mike Castillo.

“As the sun starts to come out throughout the day, what will happen is bees are transient and they follow the queen, and they basically create a hive around the queen,” Castillo told FOX 10 Phoenix. “The queen will move to a location, and they will set up the hive in a cooler area. They may stay for a few hours to days.”

During this time of year, hives grow exponentially, which causes colonies to “grow” new queen bees and fissure.

5 OF THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE INVASIVE SPECIES IN THE US

Once the hives split, half the colony stays behind, while the other half leaves with a queen in search of a new home, according to Arizona State University’s School of Life Sciences.

Bee swarms have killed or caused injuries to numerous people in Arizona over the years.

In April, two people were taken to the hospital and several were stung after thousands of bees swarmed a senior living facility in Mesa.

The encounter caused a woman in her 80s to be stung more than 30 times on her head, face, and neck, while a caregiver was stung more than 50 times all over her body.

“This was an unusual set of circumstances,” said Castillo, according to the station. “These bees became extremely aggressive very quickly, and as far as we can tell, they were unprovoked.”

In April 2019, an Arizona man died after police found him in his front yard “covered with bees.” A woman at the home also sustained multiple stings and had to be transported to the hospital. Officers that responded to the scene were also stung by the insects.

Illinois woman mauled to death by her French Bulldog: police

An Illinois woman was likely viciously mauled to death inside her home by her own pet French Bulldog, according to authorities.

Lisa Urso, 52, was found dead at her home in Ingleside, located in the northern part of the state about 60 miles from both Chicago and Milwaukee in opposite directions.

Officers who responded to the scene after 4:43 p.m. Saturday found her mutilated body on the back porch, Fox Lake Police Chief Jimmy Lee said.

An autopsy confirmed she died from injuries sustained when her pet French Bulldog attacked her. The coroner’s office said the attack began inside the home but Urso managed to make it out to the porch, where she died, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

This 2011 Facebook photos shows Lisa Urso with one of her French Bulldogs.

“You don’t really think about it happening with a smaller dog breed but we forget animals can be powerful,” Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper told WGN. “This animal has a lot of jaw strength.”

The French Bulldog that fatally attacked Urso was a rescue and had previously been used to fight, Cooper said.

That animal, as well as a second French Bulldog and a Border Collie, were removed from the home and are in the custody of Lake County Animal Care and Control.

TERRIFYING MOMENT DANGEROUS DOG ATTACKS 5-YEAR-OLD GIRL OUTSIDE CHURCH

Cooper said most of the bite marks were not on the woman’s neck, but, instead, on her legs and arms.

“Some on her torso as well. Just a lot of bites. A lot of scratching,” he said. “I hate to say it but unfortunately it was a vicious attack.”

An investigation is ongoing. Chief Lee said there were signs of a struggle within the home. Blood was found on at least one other dog. It was unclear if her other pets were involved or intervened.

“We have been in close contact with Ms. Urso’s family and our deepest condolences go out to them during this difficult time,” Cooper said in a statement, according to the Sun-Times. “This is truly a tragedy.”

Police said that the woman was supposed to meet up with co-workers Saturday. When she didn’t show, they came to check on her.

Urso lived with her boyfriend, who was not at home at the time of the fatal attack. He himself had been attacked by the same French Bulldog last month, and the animal was taken away, Lee said. Urso had gone to the Lake County Animal Care and Control to retrieve the dog, which was returned to her, the Daily Herald reported.

With all the stress from the coronavirus outbreak, a therapy dog in Tennessee is providing much-needed care to frontline workers.

Canines for Christ Chaplain Ron Leonard and Molly, his rescue dog who has been on 4,900 visits over the last seven years, are delivering cookies to police officers in Nashville on Tuesday.

A Georgia doctor found dead in a ditch on the side of the road was likely killed by a pack of dogs, police say.

Dr. Nancy Shaw, 62, was found dead in a ditch on the side of a road in Lyons, about 80 miles west of Savannah, in the early morning hours Thursday, WTOC reported.

She was a longtime internist at the Meadows Regional Medical Center located in the next town over in Vidalia, Ga. An autopsy confirmed she died from an animal attack, the Lyons Police Department said.

Shaw graduated from Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, R.I. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Saint Raphael Hospital in New Haven, C.T. before relocating to Georgia. She was a member of the American Medical Association.

Police out on patrol spotted a car pulled over on the wrong side of the road on Skyline Blvd. around 3 a.m. with its engine still running and door open.

An officer “got out of the patrol car to investigate and found a female that was deceased in the ditch,” Lyons Police Chief Wesley Walker told WTOC.

It was unclear what made her pull over. The incident remains under investigation.

Members of the department recognized the body, as Shaw often stopped by the police station to check on the officers she treated, Walker said.

“She was that kind of person. She was a caring person. She was a friend of ours. When I realized who it was, it was devastating,” he said.

Police said they identified and seized the dogs allegedly involved on Saturday, the day after Shaw’s body was found. No charges have been brought against the dogs’ owner.

“Dr. Shaw was a friend to the City, Lyons Police department and Lyons Animal shelter,” the police department said in a press release Tuesday. “The Lyons Police Department assisted by the Lyons Animal Control Division, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Lyons Public Works Department actively searched for the dogs responsible for the incident.”

“The Lyons Animal Control Division encourages Cctizens to abide by the cities’ leash law and keep your pets under the level of control required by law,” the release said.

Bored owners of country estate ‘marry’ two of their horses in lavish ceremony: ‘We think it’s genuine love’

The bored staff at a plush country estate in England have beaten their lockdown boredom by “marrying’ a pair of horses.

Equine couple Lewis and Fern tied the knot after appearing to grow close during the coronavirus pandemic. Handlers said their relationship had blossomed into “genuine love,” and it was the right time for the duo to wed.

“With the necessities of social distancing meaning fewer people having to look after more horses, Lewis and Fern have spent more time together than usual,” said one of the estate’s owners. (SWNS)

The horses got hitched on the grounds of Orchardleigh, a 19th century stately home located near Frome, Somerset. The ceremony took place in a romantic spot once the pair had been groomed to look their best — and after Lewis “proposed” with a mint.

A tailored three-course meal was served before the newlyweds were led off for a celebratory swim. The couple then headed back to their marital suite for the evening: a stable filled with extra hay.

The zany idea was thought up by Chris and Heather Vincent, owners of the estate.

“With the necessities of social distancing meaning fewer people having to look after more horses, Lewis and Fern have spent more time together than usual,” Heather said.

Before they both knew it, Chris and Heather were planning the big day.

Coronavirus: Social distancing guidelines applies to pets, CDC says

Until we know more about how the coronavirus impacts animals, social distancing guidelines are now being recommended for family pets in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday.

Those guidelines include having pet owners take precautions to treat their companions like “family members” during the pandemic, and not let them interact with people or other animals outside the household.

“Social distancing applies to your pets too,” said Veterinary Specialist Dr. Melissa Salgado, according to ABC News. “They are at risk of developing this disease so it’s best to err on the side of caution.”

Until we know more about how the coronavirus impacts animals, social distancing guidelines are now being recommended for family pets in the U.S., according to the CDC on Wednesday.<br data-cke-eol=”1″> (iStock)

The agency recommends walking dogs on a leash at least six feet from other people or animals and keeping cats indoors when possible to prevent them from interacting with other people.

If you’re sick with COVID-19 or suspected to have the virus the CDC says to limit contact with pets and other animals, “just like you would around other people.”

The new guidelines come after the agency announced two pet cats in the U.S. had become infected with the virus last week, although officials told the news organization there is no need to send your pet away if you become sick.

“Avoid contact with your pet, including petting, snuggling, being kissed or licked, and sharing food or bedding,” the CDC said.

CAN PETS COME DOWN WTH CORONAVIRUS?

If infected or suspected to have the virus, the best practice is to have another member of the household take care of your pet, according to the agency. If that’s not possible, you should wear a cloth face covering and wash your hands before and after interacting with them.

Dog parks or other public places where animals or people may gather should also be avoided.

Routine testing of animals is not recommended at this time, the CDC said, adding that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will post findings should other animals test positive for the virus in the U.S.

Even with the new recommendations, the agency said there is no evidence pets play a role in spreading the virus in the U.S.

“Further studies are needed to understand if and how different animals, including pets, could be affected,” the CDC added.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was the talk of the NFL Draft for a brief moment — and it wasn’t for anything he actually did on the second day of the event.

The ESPN broadcast peered into his dining room at one point of the event and instead of seeing the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach, fans got to see his dog. The moment came as New England selected safety Kyle Dugger with the No. 37 pick of the draft.

2020 NFL DRAFT: EVERY PICK FROM ROUNDS 2 AND 3

Fans were delighted to see the dog sitting in the coach’s seat and they wondered who really was the brains behind the Patriots’ draft operations Friday night.

New England traded out of the first round Thursday night and made most of its moves Friday.

The Patriots selected Dugger No. 37. He played college football at Division II Lenoir-Rhyne and might be one of those diamonds in the rough that Belichick has a knack for finding.

The team then selected two linebackers: Josh Uche and Afernee Jennings. Uche was a stud at Michigan, recording 33 tackles and 7.5 sacks in his final season at Michigan. Jennings, from Alabama, had 83 tackles and eight sacks in his senior season.

The Patriots then traded back into the second round to draft tight ends. New England selected Devin Asiasi from UCLA at No. 91 and Virginia Tech’s Dalton Keene at No. 101.

If Friday was any indication, rounds four through seven could be even busier for New England.

This is sure to put a smile on your face.

Being under lockdown has seemingly left many people looking for ways to entertain themselves without leaving the house. For one dog owner, all it took was a set of fake teeth and a curious pet.

Ben Campbell posted a video to YouTube that shows his pet dog, Thomas, carrying a set of fake teeth in his mouth. The result makes it appear as if Thomas has an impossibly large smile, despite the somewhat confused look on his face.

In the footage, the small dog appears to be keeping his distance from his owner, probably in an attempt to avoid having to relinquish his newfound teeth.

“I got some fake teeth for some quarantine comic relief and well… Thomas stole them off of the table,” Campbell wrote on YouTube.

Since posting the video, Thomas’ toothy smile has racked up more than 1.7 million views and has received over 600 comments.

Many users seemed just as amused as Campbell with the footage, with one writing: “He’s like a tiny Teddy Roosevelt.”
