The press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence hit back at reports Thursday that he might have been “snubbed” by Prince Charles while at the World Holocaust Forum in Jerusalem.

“This is not true,” Pence’s press secretary Katie Waldman wrote on Twitter, including a photo of the vice president and the prince sharing a laugh at the event. “VP and Prince Charles spoke prior to entering the event floor and after his remarks as well.”

Several outlets reported on a possible snub after a video showing the prince appear to skip over Pence while shaking hands with other world leaders circulated on social media.

Buckingham Palace also denied the reports.

“Shortly before the Yad Vashem memorial event began, the prince and Vice President Pence had a warm and friendly chat, which is why they did not greet each other again in the room,” a statement from the office of the Prince of Wales said, according to the Times of Israel.

Pence spoke in front of world leaders and Holocaust survivors at Israel’s Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Center on Thursday, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

“We gather to fulfill the solemn obligation, an obligation of remembrance, to never let the memory of those who died in the Holocaust to be forgotten by anyone anywhere in the world,” Pence said. “Today we remember what happens when the powerless cry for help and the powerful refuse to answer.”

Pence also shook hands with the prince after his speech, The Hill reported.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry giving up public funding and use of HRH titles: What does that mean?

Among the announcements made about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following their decision to “step back” from royal duties was one detailing new protocol for the duo’s royal titles and use of public funding.

While Buckingham Palace announced the news, it didn’t exactly explain what that means and just how important those two items are.

HRH titles refer to the term “his/her royal highness,” which is spoken and written in front of the names of princes and princesses, as well as their spouses. For example, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are both referred to as his/her royal highness.

(AP Photo/Matt Dunham, File)

The statement from Buckingham Palace said that “The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.” It’s important to note that Harry, 35, is still recognized as a prince and direct grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, and he did not renounce, nor was he stripped of the title, but he has agreed simply not to use it.

The term “working members” refers to those carrying out royal duties, such as William, Middleton and Prince Charles.

In addition to retaining the title of “prince,” Harry also will still be known as the Duke of Sussex, and Markle, 38, will be called the Duchess of Sussex.

Recent reports have indicated that her official title will be “Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex,” however, placing a comma between the Christian name and the royal title is a stylization generally only reserved for widows and those divorced from the royal family, as is the case for the late Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York.

PRINCE HARRY WOULD BLOCK ‘THE CROWN’ FROM FOCUSING ON HIS LIFE WITH MEGHAN MARKLE, CLAIMS BIOGRAPHER

It is reported that the crown is currently reviewing the stylization of the royal couple’s titles and an announcement will soon be made with exact details.

The second part of the deal is that Harry and Markle will give up public funding.

The royal family receives most of the money for their charitable exploits, living costs and the like from what’s called a “duchy,” which is similar to a taxpayer-funded trust.

The money that Harry and Markle previously received largely came from the Duchy of Cornwall, which is overseen by Charles, who would divide the funds between himself, his sons and their spouses.

Harry and Markle also received money from the Sovereign Grant, which operates similar to a Duchy and provided them with about $130,000 per year. They will no longer have access to that money.

What this all means is that Harry and Markle will now be responsible for raising their own money to throw charity events, travel to make public appearances and such, as well as to pay for food, shelter and other everyday necessities.

Reports have circulated stating that Harry is still expected to receive some money from Charles, 71, possibly as much as $3 million, though nothing is confirmed and how this fits into the arrangement is still unknown.

The statement from Buckingham Palace also explained that Harry and Markle intend to pay back some of the money they’ve recently spent.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their wish to repay Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their UK family home,” read the statement.

This is in reference to the renovation work done on their home, Frogmore Cottage, which was completed in order to make it more family-friendly in preparation for the birth of Harry and Markle’s son Archie, now 8 months old. The couple will repay the money to the Grant, and continue using Frogmore Cottage as their U.K. home while splitting time between there and Canada.

In giving up their public funding, Harry and Markle are free to explore other options for raising money, such as, as is widely speculated, crafting a production deal in Hollywood.

This also brings into question security for the pair, which is provided to the royal family by a special, taxpayer-funded security force. Details about the couple’s international security have yet to be announced, but the Sussex’s website states that security is “mandated” by the queen.

Nigel Farage on Prince Harry, Meghan Markle no longer using royal titles: Queen ‘acted decisively’

Former United Kingdom Independence party leader Nigel Farage, who helped launch the Brexit campaign in the U.K., weighed in Sunday on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “Megxit” plan and Queen Elizabeth’s reaction, saying he worries about Harry’s future.

“If you’re in the royal family, you’re in what’s called ‘the firm,’” Farage said on “Fox & Friends Weekend.” “You live in a nice house, you spend much of your life in royal palaces and elsewhere, you got full security, full transport, cars, helicopters, you name it. And, in return for all of that and in return for being royal and his or her royal highness, you have to carry out engagements.”

He said those engagements may include ribbon cuttings and charity events.

“You cannot live that life and tout yourself for voice-overs for Disney, and that is what Harry and Meghan did,” Farage said, referencing the announcement earlier this month that Markle, 38, had signed a deal with Disney to provide a voiceover for an upcoming project from the studio in exchange for a donation to a non-profit helping elephants in Botswana.

“On a personal level, we all want them to be happy, but you cannot commercialize the royalty,” Farage said. “The Queen saw what huge damage that could do, she has acted decisively and we are very, I must say, very, very lucky to have this Queen. She is a quite amazing woman.”

PRINCE HARRY, MEGHAN MARKLE WILL NO LONGER USE ROYAL TITLES, QUEEN AND BUCKINGHAM PALACE ANNOUNCE

Farage referenced Queen Elizabeth and Buckingham Palace releasing much-anticipated statements on Saturday confirming Harry and Meghan no longer would use their royal titles and will move forward with their initial “Megxit” plan in the spring of 2020.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are grateful to Her Majesty and the Royal Family for their ongoing support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from Royal duties, including official military appointments. They will no longer receive public funds for Royal duties,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement on the official royal family website.

The palace continued: “With The Queen’s blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations. While they can no longer formally represent The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty.

“The Sussexes will not use their HRH [His or Her Royal Highness] titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their wish to repay Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their U.K. family home,” the palace said.

Queen Elizabeth II simultaneously released a statement of her own voicing her support.

“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family,” she said.

The 93-year-old monarch added, “I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.”

“The British public did not like the idea of them trying to have it both ways,” Farage said on Sunday. “You cannot privatize or commercialize the monarchy and the Queen, she may be 93-years-old, but she’s been absolutely decisive.”

He added, “For Harry this raises big questions because not only is he leaving behind his family to go and live pretty much permanently on the West Coast, but he’s also leaving his second family.”

Farage said his second family was his military family.

“[When] Princess Diana [was] tragically killed when he was 12 years old, he has always found that difficult to grasp with and he then joined the army,” Farage said. “He’s spent ten years in the army. He did two active tours of Afghanistan. He now holds some very prestigious military titles.”

A week after a video of Prince Harry talking with Disney CEO Bob Iger surfaced, a new video has been unearthed showing the royal and his wife, Meghan Markle, speaking with director Jon Favreau about voiceover work.

In the video, Harry, 35, and Markle, 38, were seen talking to Favreau, 53, a frequent Disney collaborator, pitching voiceover work.

“Next time anyone needs any voiceover work, we can make ourselves available,” Harry said in the video obtained by the Daily Mail.

“Anything like that,” the Prince said to the “Lion King” director. “Just not Scar. That’s a no to Scar.”

In the video, Markle also joked, saying, “That’s really why we’re here, to pitch,” with a laugh.

Aside from “Lion King,” Favreau directed Disney’s most recent iteration of “The Jungle Book” and recently helmed the live-action “Star Wars” television series “The Mandalorian” on Disney+. Favreau also directed “Iron Man” and “Iron Man 2,” and starred in several Marvel films as Happy Hogan.

The video of the discussion surfaced days after the Daily Mail released a video of Harry speaking to Iger about a possible collaboration.

“You know, she does voiceovers,” Harry could be heard saying to Iger, 68, as the prince pointed to his wife.

“Oh really, I did not know that,” Iger said.

“She’s really interested,” said Harry.

“We’d love to try,” Iger responded.

Both conversations took place at the premiere of “Lion King,” which served as a partnership between Disney and the royals, raising funds for Harry’s African wildlife conservation efforts.

Prince Harry breaks silence after ‘Megxit’ announcement: ‘No other option’

Prince Harry on Sunday publicly addressed his decision to “step back” from royal life, saying he wanted to continue supporting Queen Elizabeth without public funding, but “unfortunately, that wasn’t possible.”

In a speech given at a dinner for supporters of the Sentebale charity in London, the Prince addressed why he and his wife, Meghan Markle, chose to relinquish their “royal highness” titles and move part-time to Canada.

“Before I begin, I must say that I can only imagine what you may have heard, or perhaps read, over the past few weeks,” Harry began. “So, I want you to hear the truth from me — as much as I can share, not as a prince or a duke, but as Harry, the same person that many of you have watched grow up over the past 35 years, but now with a clearer perspective.”

MEGHAN MARKLE, PRINCE HARRY TO STILL BE CALLED DUKE AND DUCHESS, PAY BACK MONEY FOR HOME RENOVATION

“The U.K. is my home and a place that I love. That will never change,” he continued. “I have grown up feeling supported by so many of you, and I watched as you welcomed Meghan with open arms, as you saw the love and happiness that I had hoped for all my life. Finally, the second son of Diana got hitched, hooray!”

Harry then stressed that he and Markle still held the same values, and she’s still the same woman he’s loved. He also recounted the excitement they felt when they began their journey together, and addressed the “great sadness” he feels at the situation becoming so dire.

“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly,” the Prince said. “It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option. What I want to make clear is, we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you.”

MEGHAN MARKLE, PRINCE HARRY EXPECTED TO STILL RECEIVE FUNDS FROM PRINCE CHARLES: REPORT

Harry then explained that he and Markle, 38, originally hoped to support the queen without funds from the public.

“Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible,” he stated. “I’ve accepted this knowing it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am, but I hope it helps you understand what it had come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life.”

Harry then thanked the crowd for taking “me under your wing” after the death of his mother, Diana, 23 years ago.

“You looked after me for so long, but the media is a powerful force. And my hope is one day our collective support for each other can be more powerful because this is so much bigger than just us,” he said. “It has been our privilege to serve you, and we will continue to lead a life of service. So in that respect, nothing changes.”

Harry concluded by saying he holds “the utmost respect” for his grandmother, and is “incredibly grateful for the support his family has shown him in recent months.

“I will continue to be the same man who holds his country dear and dedicates his life to supporting the causes, charities and military communities that are so important to me,” said Harry. “Together, you have given me an education about living, and this role has taught me more about what is right and just than I could ever have imagined. We are taking a leap of faith, so thank you for giving me the courage to take this next step.”

The speech came after the announcement that Harry and Markle will no longer be referred to as “royal highness” and will pay back the $3.1 million they used to renovate their home, Frogmore Cottage.

A video of the speech was posted to the official Instagram page of Harry and Markle, simply captioned: “Remarks from The Duke of Sussex at tonight’s dinner for supporters of Sentebale in London.”

Meghan Markle’s application for British citizenship could reportedly be in jeopardy if she and Prince Harry move to Canada as part of their plan to step down as senior royals.

The Duchess of Sussex started the process for citizenship shortly after her marriage to Prince Harry in May 2018, applying as the spouse of a British citizen.

Under Home Office rules, applicants are required not to have spent more than 270 days out of the country in the three years before applying, The Telegraph reported. During their engagement, Prince Harry’s spokesperson promised the duchess would be in compliance with U.K. immigration laws “at all times.”

“She may quickly run into trouble when calculating her permissible absences from the U.K.,” immigration website Free Movement reported.

MEGHAN MARKLE WOULD BE WELCOMED IN HOLLYWOOD WITH OPEN ARMS, EXPERTS SAY: ‘WE’D ALL RUN TO THE PHONE’

Immigration lawyer Philip Trott told The Times of London, “There is no harm in being out, as long as you spend most of your time here…The advice we normally give to clients is that most of your time means six months and one day every year.”

If Prince Harry managed to obtain an official role while in Canada, their time in the country might qualify for the Crown servant exception to residency, which would still count legally as living in the U.K., according to Free Movement.

In the unlikely event she couldn’t obtain citizenship, she might still be allowed to remain in the U.K. indefinitely “at the discretion of the Home Secretary,” Free Movement reported. “There are ultimately no legal constraints on granting any form of immigration status.”

Kate Middleton has tried to be a ‘peacemaker’ between Princes Harry and William, royal expert says

It’s been a tough week for the royal family.

Following the announcement that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to “step back” from their royal duties, reports have surfaced about how Harry’s family truly feels about the situation.

Such reports have said that Prince William feels let down, Kate Middleton is “incredibly hurt,” Queen Elizabeth II feels “disappointed” and that Prince Charles is “livid.

KATE MIDDLETON, PRINCE WILLIAM TO BE JOINED BY THIS ROYAL COUPLE FOR NEXT EVENT

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, 38-year-old Middleton has tried to serve as a “peacemaker” among her family members.

“Well, look, we know there have clearly been a lot of family tensions, rifts, fallouts behind the scenes,” Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight. “I think throughout all of this, Kate has tried very much to be the peacemaker. Remember that she and Harry were at one point incredibly close. She, Harry and William were a very special trio and I think she’s very keen to try and see that rift closed up.”

Nicholl also predicted that, eventually, the relationship between Harry, 35, and his brother would heal.

“At some point down the future, there will be a closeness between the four of them, if not for themselves, for the royal cousins because it’s emerged that … the Cambridge children have actually only met Archie a handful of times,” she said of recent reports alleging the cousins have met only a few times.

“I suppose that’s down to the Sussexes being in Windsor, the Cambridges being in London,” added Nicholl.

Middleton and William, 37, are parents to three children: George, 6, Charlotte, 4, and Louis, 1.

PRINCE WILLIAM DISCUSSES DEALING WITH ‘CHALLENGES’ AMID ROYAL FAMILY DRAMA

“But of course with the Sussexes now spending a good chunk of the year overseas, you know, you have to wonder, how close is that relationship going to be between the royal cousins?” Nicholl said in reference to Harry and Meghan’s plan to split time between the U.K. and Canada. “Harry grew up very close to his cousins. It was always his intention for his children to be close to William’s children.

“I think everyone’s hoping that they can move on from this difficult period, put the warring behind them and actually allow for the royal cousins when they are together at least in the same country, to actually get to spend some quality time together,” continued Nicholl.

Harry has been in London with his family following the Sandingram Summit in which he hashed out his new role in the monarchy while Meghan, 38, has stayed in Canada with 8-month-old Archie.

Harry stayed behind after Monday’s summit to host the Rugby League World Cup 2021 draws for the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments at Buckingham Palace on Thursday, after which, he is expected to return Canada.

Harry and Markle have been apart for 10 days now, which Nicholl said “is the longest period he’s spent away from his family and certainly the longest period he’s spent away from Meghan since Archie was born.”

According to Nicholl, Harry is “planning to stick around in the U.K. until he’s cleared those engagements” and then will be “jumping on that plane to Vancouver” so he can reunite with Meghan and Archie.

“He’s probably desperate to get back to them,” said Nicholl.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry: Will Prince Charles still help out?

One of the many lingering questions following “Megxit” is whether Prince Charles will continue to provide monetarily for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

When they announced that they plan to “step back” from their royal duties, Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, also said that they’re working to become “financially independent” as well, which means they won’t be living on the taxpayer’s dime.

In the past, Prince Charles, 71, has received income from the Duchy of Cornwall which he then divides amongst himself, his wife, his sons and his daughters-in-law to support themselves and their philanthropic work.

JUSTIN TRUDEAU ON MEGHAN MARKLE, PRINCE HARRY’S SECURITY COSTS: ‘WE’RE NOT ENTIRELY SURE’ IF CANADA WILL HELP

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Duchy of Cornwall brought in over 20 million pounds last year.

According to Shannon Felton Spence, former head of Politics and Communications for the British Consulate-General of Boston, the Sussexes claim that the Duchy of Cornwall covers 95 percent of their costs, while the remaining comes from the Sovereign Grant.

If Harry and Meghan were to no longer receive money from the Duchy of Cornwall, it wouldn’t go to waste.

“If the Prince of Wales no longer provided the funds for the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — as they have stated in their desire to be ‘financially independent,’ the Prince would then be able to allocate that money towards the philanthropic efforts of the remaining senior members of the Royal Family,” Spence said to Fox News. “Namely himself, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”

One of the rumors swirling about is that Charles will charge Harry and Meghan rent to live in Frogmore Cottage, the home that recently underwent a taxpayer-funded renovation to better suit a family with a small child.

MEGHAN MARKLE DIDN’T CALL INTO ROYAL FAMILY SUMMIT WITH THE QUEEN BECAUSE IT WASN’T ‘NECESSARY’

Spence, however, feels that will not happen.

“The palaces of London contain many different apartments and cottages than members of the Royal Family are gifted by HM The Queen,” said Spence. “This doesn’t mean they own that residence, but rather, they are allowed to live there rent-free.”

Spence pointed out that Princess Eugenie and her husband live in a cottage at Kensington Palace very close to Harry and Meghan’s original home (before Frogmore) despite not being considered working members of the Royal Family.

Julie Montagu, herself a member of the British nobility known as Viscountess Hinchingbrooke, told Fox News that the Duchy of Cornwall is similar to a trust fund for Charles and his family, Harry included.

“Charles could do with [the money] what he wants to do with it,” said Montagu. “No doubt there will be talks about how much Megan and Harry get.”

It appears the charity work hasn’t slowed down for Meghan Markle.

On Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex visited with an organization called Justice for Girls, focusing on ending violence, poverty and racism in the lives of young women.

Markle, 38, was seen in photos shared to Twitter by Justice for Girls.

“Yesterday, The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle visited to discuss climate justice for girls and the rights of Indigenous peoples,” said the organization’s official Twitter account. “Was great to talk about the importance of a holistic approach to social justice, and the power of young women’s leadership.”

The tweet also contained two black-and-white photos of Markle with members of Justice for Girls.

This is the second time that Markle has been seen visiting with charities lately, as just yesterday, a women’s center in Vancouver shared a photo of several women with Markle.

“Look who we had tea with today!” read the photo’s caption. “The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, visited us today to discuss issues affecting women in the community.”

Markle is currently in Canada following the historic announcement that she and her husband Prince Harry will “step back” from their royal duties as members of the British monarchy.

Major Canadian newspaper says Meghan Markle, Prince Harry ‘can’t live’ there

The Globe and Mail, one of Canada’s biggest newspapers, appears to not be happy with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s decision to spend extended amounts of time in the country.

The paper published an editorial Monday titled “Harry and Meghan, and why members of the Royal Family can’t live in Canada,” which says the relocation violates laws that keep Canada separated from the British monarchy that previously ruled over the country.

“In response to the sudden announcement of a vague and evolving plan for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — Prince Harry and Meghan — to move to Canada while remaining part of the Royal Family, the Trudeau government’s response should be simple and succinct: No,” according to the editorial, which referred to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The article says that allowing the royal couple to live in Canada would disrupt efforts to maintain “Canada’s unique and highly successful monarchy.”

“A royal living in this country does not accord with the long-standing nature of the relationship between Canada and Britain, and Canada and the Crown,” the editorial said.

The article cites Britain’s “class system with hereditary aristocrats” as a reason that Canada cannot allow Harry, 35, and Markle, 38, to live within its boundaries.

“What’s more, with the Statute of Westminster of 1931, Canada’s relationship to Britain was spelled out as one of equal, independent nations,” the editorial explains.

“The Sussexes are working out their own personal issues, and Canadians wish them the best of luck,” the paper added. “Canada welcomes people of all faiths, nationalities and races, but if you’re a senior member of our Royal Family, this country cannot become your home.”

The paper, widely regarded as Canada’s most reputable, finished by saying that the royals cannot use the nation as “a halfway house for anyone looking to get out of Britain while remaining a royal.”

Harry and Markle announced last week that they plan to “step back” from their royal duties and split their time between London and North America. Following an in-person meeting between the senior members of the Royal Family, Queen Elizabeth II agreed to the couple’s part-time move to Canada during a “period of transition.”
