Police in California are searching for a woman who was caught on surveillance video ripping down a “thin blue line” flag meant to support law enforcement.

The unidentified woman was spotted on the 2400 block of Santa Clara Avenue on March 26, according to a Facebook post from the Alameda Police Department.

WISCONSIN WAITRESS GIVES POLICE OFFICERS TOUCHING NOTE AFTER COP’S TRAGIC DEATH: ‘I WILL ALWAYS BACK THE BLUE’

Video footage showed the woman donning a yellow sweater or sweatshirt as she walked down a sidewalk with someone. The two passed a “thin blue line” flag posted outside a storefront when the woman jumped up to grab it and tried to pull it to the ground.

Before the flag hit the ground it appeared to hit her in the head. The woman then dragged the flag and tossed it on the ground nearby.

Investigators said that the woman “later returned to further vandalize the victim’s property.”

The “thin blue line” flag that was displayed is a flag designed to show support of police and other law enforcement agencies. It’s a black and white American flag with a blue line that replaces one of the 13 stripes.

Those with information that can help identify the woman are asked to contact the Alameda Police Department at 510-337-8340 and refer to case No.19-01667.

‘Burglary suspect’ triggering emergency call was Roomba trapped in bathroom, cops say

Deputies in Oregon were prepared with guns drawn when a woman said someone was in her bathroom — but what they found was nothing of the sort.

Multiple deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at 1:48 p.m. and surrounded the home minutes later, the department wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The officers, who even went so far as to request a canine to help them at the scene, reported hearing noises coming from a bathroom inside the house.

After not responding to “several announcements” commanding them to leave the bathroom, deputies drew their guns and opened the door to see who was inside.

The suspect was a Roomba, an automatic vacuum cleaner, the sheriff’s office said.

“We breached the bathroom door and encountered a very thorough vacuuming job being done by a Roomba Robotic Vacuum cleaner,” a deputy wrote in his note about the 911 call.

Officials joked the Roomba, placed on their “most wanted” list, had been captured.

A North Carolina deputy was arrested this week after it was revealed he bought drugs and planted them in the car of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, police say.

Deputy David Scott Burroughs’ coworkers became suspicious when he told them about anonymous tips he’d received in May 2018 that the unnamed victim was dealing drugs out of his car.

“This started on a Sunday afternoon,” Anson County Sheriff Landric Reid said, according to FOX13. “By Wednesday, when we made the stop, drugs were at the same place in the car. That was a red flag because anyone selling drugs wouldn’t have them Sunday to Wednesday in the same place.”

The County Sheriff’s office then contacted the State Bureau of Investigation to probe the matter further, who found that Burrough allegedly purchased heroin and meth, and placed them in the victim’s car in retaliation for dating his ex-girlfriend.

“This was a revenge case where he planted drugs in this male’s car,” Reid continued. “This male was dating his ex, and he wanted revenge, and he wanted his ex-girlfriend back.”

Burrough was promptly fired when the investigation was completed, and he was arrested last week. He has since been released on bail and will appear in court next Tuesday.

A Tennessee woman allegedly stole a police vehicle after a skirmish at a car wash, officials said.

Jennifer Stewart, 31, allegedly had broken into a separate vehicle and got into a “physical altercation with the victim” at the car wash, the Nashville Police Department said in a news release.

A police sergeant, hoping to separate the two, placed Stewart in the back of his car. However, when the officer went to speak to the apparent victim, police said Stewart “appear[ed] to crawl through the divider from the back seat into the front seat of the patrol car.”

Stewart then “drove off” in the vehicle, according to police.

Law enforcement officials said they followed Stewart — and the police car ultimately came to a stop after she drove over spike strips.

Stewart was taken into custody and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, vehicle theft, and vandalism. She was being held in lieu of $37,500 bond, police said.

Florida sheriff’s office bloodhound renamed from ‘Rommel’ to ‘Scout’ after complaints of Nazi connotations

“Rommel,” a sheriff’s office bloodhound, was renamed after the office got complaints the dog shared a name with a Nazi general.

Announcing the news of its newest pal on Friday, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) welcomed young “Rommel” on Twitter.

“He is a 10 week old liver colored bloodhound now assigned to Master Deputy Meintzschel,” the department wrote. “Rommel will soon begin his rigorous training to support the community by locating missing persons, fugitives, and evidence. Welcome aboard Rommel!”

However, some followers of the sheriff’s office soon connected the dog’s name to Erwin Rommel, a senior officer in the German Army who had commanded Adolf Hitler’s military protection unit. He also led German troops sent to North Africa during World War II and killed himself in 1944 rather than face trial after he was linked to a plot to kill Hitler.

“Really?! That poor pup,” one Twitter user wrote. “Congratulations, you nazified that poor dog,” tweeted another.

“My father spent part of WWII fighting against Rommel and his troops in North Africa. Shame on you,” someone else wrote.

Another user, however, said it was “absurd” the department felt it needed to change the dog’s name.

However, the sheriff’s office later confirmed it gave Rommel a new name.

“Although our new bloodhound was named after a childhood pet of the handler, he learned that his name is also tied to a Nazi war criminal,” officials tweeted. “Welcome Scout to LCSO!”

Tennessee K-9 bites, brings down carjacking suspect, cops say

A K-9 in Tennessee is being hailed a hero after the dog helped stop a suspect bolting from a stolen vehicle Saturday evening, investigators said.

Nash, K-9 partner of Officer D. Williams, WVLT reported, bit one of the suspects who’d been running away from law enforcement in Knoxville and took him to the ground, police said.

The suspects allegedly had stolen the car during an armed South Knoxville carjacking last week, investigators added.
