Good News, NBC News Has Created a Way For You to Confess Your Climate Sins

Climate activists demonstrate in Paris, Saturday, Dec.12, 2015 during the COP21, the United Nations Climate Change Conference. Several environmental and human rights groups are planning protests around Paris to call attention to populations threatened by man-made global warming and urge an end to human use of oil, gas and coal. Remember how many on the right have been saying for years that climate change hysteria is a cult? Yeah, it’s a cult.

NBC News, a supposed objective news organization, has decided to create an entire web portal where you can go post and itemize your climate sins as part of a mass confessional. I guess this is part of some faux religious awakening, where you internalize what you are writing and realize you truly need a life change.

When you go to the sight, you can write your own confession or view others. They come in categories like transportation, plastics, and meat because apparently those are all really bad things.

Here’s a sampling.

“I’ve been using plastic golf tees from time to time. I will never use plastic golf tees again – Plastics”

You can almost feel the pathetic through the monitor. I’m not sure why plastic golf tees are bad, but this person seems to think he’s committed one of the seven deadly sins by using them. Actually, I’m not even sure what plastics have to do with global warming. Because of the use of petroleum in them? But given they don’t emit the carbon they contain, it’s a nearly irrelevant factor even if you are a hysteric about carbon emissions.

Here’s another one.

“I am a homebuilder and homes today are such energy hogs. I tour new home developments and see how developers look at profits first – Energy”

Let me translate that for you. Some twenty something Bernie supporter who’s never had a real job is making stuff up again. Homes are far, far more energy efficient today than those build decades ago. Everything from insulation, to windows, to HVAC units all work in far more energy efficient ways than your grandmother’s house built in the 1960s. A modern home’s electric bill is often less than half that of an older home of the same square footage.

But none of this is really about the climate. I mean, for some it is because they’ve been brainwashed, but for those at the top pushing the hysteria, it’s about control. We saw “climate strikes” last weekend and you saw just as much propaganda pushing for socialist takeovers of every aspect of human life as you did relating to global warming. Their efforts are only intensifying and they’ve got the help of a compliant liberal media.

Unfortunately, as is typical, you are seeing more and more on the right cave under the pressure. It’s just a matter of time before this quaz-religious ideology overtakes public policy because the left are just better at this than we are.

Elizabeth Warren Has Overtaken Biden In an Iowa Poll, Signaling Many Dems Really Have Fallen to Radicalism

(AP Photo/Robert F. Bukaty, File)

Every time I think the Democrats have reached rock bottom, they ask me for a shovel.

Senator Elizabeth Warren, the woman who is just shy of being AOC in terms of radicalism, is now leading the Democrat party, at least according to the Iowa Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom poll that was recently taken. Joe Biden, the race’s former leader, has now taken second place.

Don’t get me wrong, Biden was no moderate himself. He was just billed that way. Embracing the Green New Deal, one of the most socialistic laws to see the light of an American day, is good enough to throw him into the radical pile with the rest. However, most Americans aren’t going to busy themselves delving too deep into a candidate. If the media says he’s a more moderate choice, then that’s where they’ll head.

With that said, it looks like Democrats in Iowa are cool with radicalism.

As the Daily Wire reported on Monday, the poll shows Warren has squeaked by as both the favored candidate for first and second choice:

The poll, which surveyed 602 “likely Democratic caucusgoers” and was conducted between September 14-18, asked: “Which one of the following Democrats would be your first choice for president?” The respondents stated both their first and second choices.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren came out on top with 22% of respondents selecting her as their first choice, and 20% as their second choice.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, long considered the front-runner of the Democratic race, came in second, with 20% of respondents selecting him as their first choice, and only 10% as their second choice.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) came in a distant third place, with just 11% selecting him as their first choice, and 10% as their second.

The Daily Wire also pointed out that while Warren leads in Iowa, Biden is still the overall leader throughout the rest of the nation with a 30.2 percent lead to Warren’s 19.8. That’s a big gap, but there’s still a lot of football left to play.

Biden might be the leader, but looking at his performance while on the campaign trail has me wondering if he’ll hold onto it for much longer. Late last month, polls showed Biden’s numbers were in free fall and that it was only a matter of time before he was replaced with someone else at the top.

The gaffe tap seems to be open to full and every day brings a new gaffe. What’s more, the Ukranian scandal hasn’t been good for his image either. Biden is becoming increasingly complicated for the left to support, and it’s only a matter of time before that complication becomes a rejection.

The Iowa poll might be an outlier, but I think it’s the pebble that starts the avalanche.

It’s not all bad, however. Warren will bring complications all her own if and when she takes over as leader of the 2020 pack. For one, the left will have to rewrite its book of outrage in order to make Warren lying about her Native American heritage okay, which will certainly be hammered by Trump and the Republicans going forward.

She also has the issue of being a radical who embraces socialistic programs, which Americans just arent’ that into. This shift of Democrats to the radical left will likely turn many Americans off, and bring them into the arms of one Donald J. Trump.

Donald Trump Definitely Wants Impeachment Proceedings To Begin Soon

Westlake Legal Group Trump-Thumb-620x361 Donald Trump Definitely Wants Impeachment Proceedings To Begin Soon Ukraine republicans President Joe Biden impeachment impeach Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump democrats Allow Media Exception 2020

President Donald Trump threw gasoline onto the smoldering fire of the Ukraine call controversy when he admitted that he did, in fact, discuss Joe Biden with the nation in a phone call.

As expected, that led us to a weekend of media reports on Democrats calling for impeachment and Adam Schiff saying it’s probably the best recourse at this point. Search “Trump Ukraine” on Twitter, and you’d be hard-pressed to find many tweets that don’t also use the word “impeach” in some form.

Truth be told, I held off on caring about this story because it was another case of “Too Good To Be True.” It fits exactly into what people perceive of Trump, and pretty much every story that has done so has ended up refuted at least in part and always ended up having an entirely different context than originally portrayed. With the revelation that the whistleblower wasn’t actually a witness to the phone call and other sources in the room saying the story isn’t what it was played up to be, and that Joe Biden did something similar, the story did indeed end up changing a bit in both context and impact.

That isn’t going to stop the Democrats, however, and it’s becoming obvious that Trump doesn’t want them to stop. Trump currently can’t run on his successful economy because it may be on the verge of weakening, and there aren’t many more accomplishments he can tout because his most vocal promises outside of tax reform and regulatory rollout haven’t come true.

Biden, his leading opponent ahead of 2020, has an appeal to moderate voters and could very well become a major threat to Trump in the general election. However, as more Democrats drop out, Elizabeth Warren could overtake Biden, presenting Trump with a far-left opponent. That’s the scenario Trump wants, and it’s the scenario he’s hoping to get.

I’ll be the first to admit I don’t think Trump is the three dimensional chess player his supporters like to believe he is, but there comes a time (as I pointed out a while back) that you have to stop assuming Trump is just aimlessly firing his talking points and tactics and actually working a larger strategy. I think that this could be one of the times we need to assume Trump wants what’s happening right now.

Nancy Pelosi knows full-well what the Democrats want. She knows she won’t be able to hold off on impeachment altogether. She also knows that impeachment over anything remotely close to a nothing burger story will kill her party in 2020. Pelosi does not want to impeach unless there is a clear-cut offense that the facts support an impeachment over.

Trump will continue to goad the Democrats into shooting for impeachment, saying just enough to make them continue to froth and roil and eventually force the party’s leadership to pull the trigger. If that happens, the 2020 election will become an election over impeachment and not the issues. Trump gets his enemy and the Democrats think they get a winning issue.

Conservative activist Scott Presler continued to deliver on his pledge to clean up Democrat-led cities across the country. He tackled his biggest project yet on Saturday. Wearing hazmat suits, he and a group of 200 volunteers spent nine hours removing 50 tons of garbage from an L.A. homeless camp. The photographs show a remarkable transformation.

In the video below, Presler shows what the camp looked like before they went to work.

Nine hours later, the results speak for themselves.

Imagine if the left spent less time crusading for the rights of migrants crossing into the U.S. illegally and more time solving the problems of American citizens requiring assistance.

It’s not hard. Presler shows us what it takes. Why have the leaders of these largely Democrat controlled cities ignored the problem for so long and allowed conditions to deteriorate to such hazardous levels? There are common sense solutions to these problems if liberals would stop crying about conditions at the border and act.

As Presler says, #StopTalkingStartDoing.

Presley told reporters, “The highlight of the day was when a homeless woman said to me, ‘Thank you for keeping your promise.’”

His next project will be a third cleanup in Baltimore scheduled for October 5th.

At the Emmys, Cancel Culture Gets Called Out – from Perhaps an Unlikely Place

I wrote recently that we seem to be losing the idea of a joke.

Our society appears to be plummeting toward tragic seriousness, as satire becomes unacceptable, lightheartedness becomes intolerable, and jokes are translated as “problematic” statements with dire consequences.

You know when you’re with a close friend and they say something, and a quip comes to mind, and you let it go? It may turn out to not have been funny, but it was only an offhanded remark.

Some may disagree, but to me, that’s the greatest degree of seriousness to which any joke should be taken. That includes things spoken on a stage.

It may be undesirable, it may go unappreciated, it may even be offensive; but a joke, generally, is not supposed to have weight.

Yet, these days, comedians appear to be getting increasingly crushed for anything objectionable to the most serious among us — people with a very different idea of a joke than mine.

A telling moment in this new, woke era came Sunday night at The Emmys.

And it came from someone who knows a thing or two about offending people, who’s likely said things you don’t appreciate, even though you understand they’re jokes: Sarah Silverman.

On the red carpet at television’s trophy ceremony, speaking to E! Entertainment, Sarah provided some stunning commentary:

“They cut us off at the knees. There isn’t even a host anymore at these shows. They don’t want comedians to talk.”

“Do you offer to step in,” the interviewer asked?

“No. Nobody wants to do it, either. I mean, it’s thankless.”

She’s on the right track there — from recent memory, Tracy Morgan was nixxed, Kevin Hart lost a major opportunity to host, Dave Chappelle undertook a dismissal by critics, Norm Macdonald was ejected from The Tonight Show, and an SNL newbie was canned. To be clear, I’m not commenting on the tastefulness of anything they said or did; but not long ago, culture was sufficiently free of feigned outrage and virtue-signaling for them to have continued their trajectory unimpeded.

To borrow from Sarah, as for cutting them off, who’s doing the chopping? Is it the Right?

Twitter had a thing or two to say:

One tweeter referenced 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, who I covered here:

Some even blamed Sarah:

Maynardg referenced Martin Neimöller, the anti-Nazi Lutheran pastor who wrote the famous “First they came…”

And some users got pretty creative:

One user had a wholly different take:

We’re living in the age of cancellation, and — so far as I’m concerned — we’re worse for it.

How do we go back? It may take a revolution; it may take more than comedians selling themselves as those who’ll say anything and everything yet seem to conform to all the same political and social points of view.

Maybe we need, from the stage, what those across the aisle have hailed time and again, yet haven’t seemed to much appreciate in ways it actually counts: where thoughts are concerned, diversity.

The world is waiting for it. And so are the laughs.

-ALEX

SHOCKER. Adam Schiff Says the Impeachment He’s Been Working For May Be Necessary

Adam Schiff Says the Impeachment He’s Been Working For May Be Necessary Ukraine State of the Union Politics Nancy Pelosi Joe Biden Jake Tapper impeachment Front Page Stories Featured Story donald trump democrats Congress CNN Allow Media Exception adam schiff

FILE- In this Feb. 5, 2018, file photo, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., ranking member of the House Committee on Intelligence, pauses while speaking during a media availability after a closed-door meeting of the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington. Two weeks after President Donald Trump blocked its full release, the House Intelligence Committee published on Saturday, Feb. 24, a partially blacked-out version of a classified Democratic memo aiming to counter a GOP narrative that the FBI and Justice Department conspired against Trump as they investigated his ties to Russia. (AP Photo/Alex Brandon, File)

Pencil neck congressman Adam Schiff was on Jake Tapper’s State of the Union show today and it was more with sadness than anger that he announced that the impeachment that he’s been trying to orchestrate for nearly a year might actually be necessary now.

“I have been very reluctant to go down the path of impeachment. . . . This would be an extraordinary remedy of last resort, not first resort,” Schiff said. “But if the President is essentially withholding military aid at the same time that he is trying to browbeat a foreign leader into doing something illicit that is providing dirt on his opponent during a presidential campaign, then that may be the only remedy that is coequal to the evil that that conduct represents.”

He later added: “We very well may have crossed the Rubicon here.”

Schiff’s comments are particularly striking given his previous unwillingness to call for impeachment. He came to Congress about 20 years ago in part because his predecessor, former Republican congressman James E. Rogan, voted to impeach President Bill Clinton. Schiff defeated him.

Schiff is also a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who has been an impeachment skeptic and put the House on a path of turning to the courts to enforce subpoenas that the administration has ignored.

Yet, on Sunday, Schiff appeared to suggest Pelosi’s impulse to look to the courts would not do in this instance. The inspector general of the intelligence community has deemed the whistleblower allegation to be “urgent,” which, under law, should have triggered the administration to turn it over to Congress.

The administration refused.

“We cannot afford to play rope-a-dope in the court for weeks or months on end,” he said. “We need an answer. If there’s a fire burning, it needs to be put out. And that’s why we’re going to have to look at every remedy. . . . We’re going to have to consider impeachment, as well, as remedy here.”

One of the clown acts being perpetrated by the Washington Post and the Schiff fluffers in the media is the idea that Schiff is being dragged ever so reluctantly towards impeachment. This is how the Post describes it.

Here’s Schiff on Sunday on CNN when asked where he stands now: “Certainly, the administration and the president seem to be doing everything they can, everything they can to push us into an impeachment. And we may get there. We may get there.”

Both times, Schiff stressed he’s not willing to support impeachment. But earlier this month, impeachment seemed distant to Schiff, who emphasized that Democrats have more important things to worry about, such as showing they can govern. It was an answer that seemed designed to shut down impeachment talks without closing the door entirely to them — a tightrope Pelosi is also balancing on.

This is from LawfareBlog where the usually just write what James Comey tells them to and get drunk on Qatar’s cash:

Hennessey got dragged a bit here and started screeching

Everyone knows what the game is. Adam Schiff took over his committee determined to engineer the impeachment of President Trump. You really have to be a special kind of stupid not to realize that. Schiff is from California and there impeachment is a non-issue. My guess is that he’s got his sights set on a senate seat and Nancy Pelosi can go hang herself for all he cares. The Democrats who entered Congress from Red and Purple districts have to contend with the fact that most of the country do not want impeachment and, unlike Schiff, Pelosi doesn’t want to put freshmen congressmen in a difficult position in a presidential election year.

Trump is clearly goading Schiff, partially from enjoyment and partially to cause discord in House Democrat leadership. From what we know about the Ukraine nonsense it is doubtful that Trump did anything wrong and it is very doubtful that either Fat Jerry Nadler or Nancy Pelosi are going to pull the trigger on a full-blown impeachment hearing when the malfeasance and corruption of the leading Democrat presidential candidate will become part of the issue.

President Trump joined India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a well-attended rally held at Houston’s NRG Stadium on Sunday. Over 50,000 Indian-Americans attended the “Howdy, Modi!” which was sponsored by the Texas India Forum.

Trump and Modi had warm words for each other. Modi told the crowd of Trump’s “strong resolve to Make America Great Again.”

He needs no introduction. His name is familiar to every person on the planet. His name comes up in every conversation in the world on global politics. He was a household name and very popular even before he occupied the highest office in this great country.

You introduced me to your family in 2017 and today I have the honor to introduce you to my family. Over a billion Indians and people of Indian heritage around the globe.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, my friend, a friend of India, a great American president, Mr. Donald Trump.

Trump was equally kind in his remarks. He praised Modi for winning such a decisive victory noting that 600,000 million votes had been cast.

Trump said, “Prime Minister Modi and I have come to Houston to celebrate everything that unites America and India, our shared dreams and bright futures. You enrich our culture, you uphold our values, you uplift our communities and you’re truly proud to be American and we are proud to have you as Americans. We thank you, we love you and I want you to know my administration is fighting for you each and every day.”

The highlight of the event for Trump came when he told the crowd, “We stand proudly in the defense of liberty and we are committed to protecting innocent civilians from the threat of radical Islamic terrorism.”

And 50,000 Indian-Americans gave the President a standing ovation. And he loved it.

Mike Pompeo Suggests That Joe Biden Might Actually Need Investigation for Corruption and Election Interference

CIA Director Mike Pompeo, picked to be the next secretary of state, listens during his introductions before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee during a confirmation hearing on his nomination to be Secretary of State, Thursday, April 12, 2018 on Capitol Hill in Washington. Pompeo’s remarks will be the first chance for lawmakers and the public to hear directly from the former Kansas congressman about his approach to diplomacy and the role of the State Department, should he be confirmed to lead it. (AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin) Chairman Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., Ranking Member Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., The Senate Foreign Relations Committee holds Pompeo’s confirmation hearing Thursday.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was on ABC’s This Week program and naturally the whole Ukraine kerfuffle was discussed. Pompeo said some expected stuff. No, we’re not on the brink of war with Iran. No, we’re very unlikely to release the transcript of President Trump’s call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. No, Pompeo doesn’t see this a a particularly big deal.

But then there was this

POMPEO: I think I saw a statement from the Ukrainian foreign minister yesterday, said there was no pressure applied in the course of the conversation. I do think — I do think, if Vice President Biden behaved inappropriately, if he was protecting his son and intervened with the Ukrainian leadership in a way that was corrupt, I do think we need to get to the bottom of that, Martha. And I — I hope that we will. I hope that, if Vice President Biden engaged in behavior that was inappropriate, I hope the American people will come to learn that. America can’t have…

RADDATZ: We’ve seen no evidence of that yet. But I want to go back to the question.

POMPEO: America cannot have our elections interfered with. America cannot have our elections interfered with. And if — if that’s what took place there, if there was that kind of activity engaged in by Vice President Biden, we need to know.

Two interesting points here.

First, Pompeo is not dismissing out of hand the stench of corruption than hangs over Joe Biden links to his ne’er do well kid getting a seat on the board of directors of a Ukrainian gas company run by one of their economic oligarchs and to Biden’s admitted interference in Ukraine’s judicial process to his son’s benefit. Second, he’s clearly tying Biden’s actions in relation to Ukraine to the efforts by the Obama administration…or at least the faction that was hoping to ride Mrs. Clinton’s more-than-ample-acres-wide coattails to continued power….to aid the Clinton campaign. (See Elizabeth Vaughn’s The Real Foreign Collusion Occurred Between Pro-Clinton Ukrainians And The DNC and U.S. Embassy Pressured Ukrainian Officials To End Investigation Of Soros Group In 2016.) The comment, “America cannot have our elections interfered with. And if — if that’s what took place there, if there was that kind of activity engaged in by Vice President Biden, we need to know,” nearly caused Martha Raddatz to stroke out.

Unlike Trump, Pompeo is not a bomb-thrower. I have to suspect that he has some reason to throw campaign interference into the mix other than mere amusement. Given the role the State Department played in moving the Steele Dossier into the proper channels, I have little doubt that there is more on that angle just waiting to be revealed.

Anyone who’s ever worked on a jigsaw puzzle knows that the process is tedious in the beginning. First, we place all the similar colored pieces in small groups, try various configurations and then we see how two groups might fit together and so on. At a certain point, the progress becomes faster until finally, a picture starts to emerge.

We’ve reached the point where old information that once seemed disconnected and meaningless now makes sense based on new developments.

Unless you’ve been on Mars for the last few days, you know that former Vice President Joe Biden threatened to withhold U.S. aid unless the Ukrainian government fired then-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in March 2016. He was about to question Biden’s son, Hunter, about his involvement in Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company.

Back in March (of this year), investigative reporter John Solomon interviewed Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko, who replaced Shokin.

Lutsenko told Solomon that in April 2016, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s office was investigating a nonprofit called the Anti-Corruption Action Centre (AntAC). The concern was that $4.4 million the U.S. had sent to help fight corruption in Ukraine had been improperly diverted.

This so-called anti-corruption organization, AntAC, was co-founded by the Obama administration and George Soros.

Shortly before Lutsenko took office, then-U.S. Embassy Charge d’ Affaires George Kent sent a letter to the Prosecutor General’s office. He wrote, “The investigation into the Anti-Corruption Action Center (sic), based on the assistance they have received from us, is similarly misplaced.” Kent also indicated that “U.S. officials had no concerns about how the U.S. aid had been spent.”

Soon after taking office, Lutsenko was summoned to the U.S. Embassy to meet the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

Lutsenko told Solomon that Yovanovitch handed him “a list of people whom we should not prosecute.” (The list included a founder of the AntAC group and two members of Parliament who vocally supported the group’s anti-corruption reform agenda.)

I guess that’s what happens when one tries to investigate an Obama administration/Soros group.

Solomon wrote:

It was collaborating with the FBI agents investigating then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s business activities with pro-Russian figures in Ukraine.

The implied message to Ukraine’s prosecutors was clear: Don’t target AntAC in the middle of an America presidential election in which Soros was backing Hillary Clinton to succeed another Soros favorite, Barack Obama, Ukrainian officials said.

“We ran right into a buzzsaw and we got bloodied,” a senior Ukrainian official told me.

Lutsenko suggested the embassy applied pressure because it did not want Americans to see who was being funded with its tax dollars. “At the time, Ms. Ambassador thought our interviews of the Ukrainian citizens, of the Ukrainian civil servants who were frequent visitors in the U.S. Embassy, could cast a shadow on that anti-corruption policy,” he said.

State officials told me privately they wanted Ukraine prosecutors to back off AntAC because they feared the investigation was simply retribution for the group’s high-profile efforts to force anti-corruption reforms inside Ukraine, some of which took authorities and prestige from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

But it was an unusual intervention, the officials acknowledged. “We’re not normally in the business of telling a country’s police force who they can and can’t pursue, unless it involves an American citizen we think is wrongly accused,” one official said.

In the end, no action was taken against AntAC and it remains thriving today. Nonetheless, the anecdote is taking on new significance.

First, it conflicts with the State Department’s official statement last week after Lutsenko first mentioned the do-not-prosecute list. The embassy responded that the claim was a fabrication and a sign that corruption is alive and well inside Ukraine.

But Kent’s letter unequivocally shows the embassy did press Ukrainian prosecutors to back off what normally would be considered an internal law enforcement matter inside a sovereign country. And more than a half-dozen U.S. and Ukrainian sources confirmed to me the AntAC case wasn’t the only one in which American officials exerted pressure on Ukrainian investigators in 2016.

When I asked State to explain the letter and inclusion of the Soros-connected names during the meeting, it demurred. “As a general rule, we don’t read out private diplomatic meetings,” it responded. “Ambassador Yovanovitch represents the President of the United States in Ukraine, and America stands behind her and her statements.”

Second, the AntAC anecdote highlights a little-known fact that the pursuit of foreign corruption has resulted in an unusual alliance between the U.S. government and a political mega-donor.

If this account is correct, the Obama administration pressured a foreign government to drop an investigation into an organization they had co-founded along with activist George Soros. They were interested in preventing American taxpayers from learning how their tax dollars were being spent as well as concealing their collaboration with Soros. But, above all, they were each doing their part to insure that Hillary Clinton won the presidency.

Another piece of the puzzle involves Nellie Ohr who worked for Fusion GPS along with Christopher Steele. During her testimony last summer, she told lawmakers that a major source of the information she provided to the FBI was a Ukrainian official. I plan to hit that tomorrow.

Remember when Joe Biden told us the Obama administration was scandal-free?

How Far Would You Go for a Lost Love? Here’s an Incredible Story About a Family and Their Commitment to Never Give Up

Politics and culture have abounded over the last several years with issues of animal rights; what about the right to be found?

In a seemingly ever-hopeless world, how much is man’s (and woman’s) best friend worth? What would you do — how far would you go — to find your family’s furriest member?

What would you do for love?

For one Washington couple, the answer was one of limitlessness.

Here’s a story of true affection. One we could probably all use.

As reported by The New York Times and relayed by The Daily Wire’s Ashe Schow — Carole and Verne King were on vacation in Kalispell, Montana with Katie, their 7-year-old border collie.

When the pair returned to their hotel after attending a stock car race, they found that Katie had escaped. Carole believed she may have been frightened by the thunderstorm.

A front desk clerk told the Kings she’d seen a dog run out the front door of the hotel; they searched everywhere. No luck.

But this was no ordinary couple. No ordinary family: Both Carole and Verne are former law enforcement officers.

They got busy with the case, posting photos on light poles and online. They probed the nearby area, including its alfalfa fields. They hunted for tracks and dog poop.

Still nothing.

After two weeks, the duo upped their game: They bought two cameras employed by wildlife researchers to record when animals are detected. Furthermore, they acquired animal traps and filled them with Katie’s favorite treat.

Carole even started biking and jogging through neighborhoods, hoping Katie would smell her sweat.

Would you do all this for love?

The couple had someone from back home ship them horse manure and hair shavings from their farm, so their lost dog might recognize the familiar scents.

They followed every lead and secured night-vision goggles to help their after-dark efforts.

After 37 days, it was time for Carole to return home to her job as a postal carrier, so she did the natural thing: she turned in her notice.

Both doggie parents were retired, but she’d taken the job for supplemental income.

Carole explained to the Times it was a simple question of priority:

“Katie was just more important to me. I just said, ‘I’ll finish this week, and that’s it.’”

So she returned to Washington, worked her last week, then jetted back to the hunt.

In turn, Verne flew home to take care of their farm and other animal friends.

On day 53, Carole pondered surrender to their new, sad Katie-less lives, but Verne encouraged her not to throw in the towel.

The Kalispell community embraced the couple’s mission; residents assisted in the search, and someone even gave the pair a place to stay.

Verne noted their amazement:

“We can’t believe that community up there.”

On day 57 — fifty-seven — Carole was told a someone had spotted a dog matching Katie’s description behind their house not far from the hotel. Upon inspection, she discovered a couple had seen a dog sitting beneath a tree nearby.

People called for Katie.

At some point, everyone went silent and let just Carole call.

Katie immediately came running and jumped into her arms.

A vet provided emergency care, as the dog — who’d spent nearly two months surely despondent and stressed — was dehydrated and 15 pounds lighter.

But that didn’t matter — the family was finally together again.

And, soon, home.

#NeverGiveUp
