Lindsey Graham Talks Turkey (Interview With Kilmeade)

This morning, Brian Kilmeade aired an interview he did with Lindsey Graham while he was in South Carolina yesterday. They covered both the recent developments regarding Syria and Turkey and the ongoing impeachment imbroglio.

Graham reiterated points he made earlier in the week, as covered by my colleague, Brandon Morse, including his threat/promise to sanction Turkey heavily if it continues to invade Syria:

GRAHAM: I’m more concerned than ever. The Kurds were talking to Assad because they’ve got no other place to go. Turkey said today, we’re not going to take over the ISIS prisoner camps except in the areas that we occupy. Our Kurdish allies are being killed by Turkey as I speak.

….

What we’re doing to the Kurds is dishonorable and it’s dangerous for us because if Turkey keeps coming into Syria and going after the Kurdish fighters who fought with us to defeat ISIS, then ISIS will break out in Iran and Assad will be the biggest winner.

I talked with the president. I hope he’ll change course. I’ve got sanctions against Turkey that I will introduce next Tuesday. These are sanctions from hell. I’m going to break Erdogan’s economy and cut off all aid to the military. And it really pisses me off, Brian, that F-16s designed in — by the Americans are being used to bomb the Kurds by Turkey. (emphasis added)

These comments are more in line with the comments he’s been making publicly since the President announced Sunday his intention to pull out troops. As noted by fellow RedStater Bonchie last evening, Graham’s comments to Russian pranksters posing as the Turkish Defense Minister held a slightly different tone. Still, they’re not wholly inconsistent. I’d characterize them as…carefully nuanced. In fact, in the interview with Kilmeade, Graham acknowledged the thorny situation involving the YPG Kurds and Turkey:

GRAHAM: OK, so what I said three years ago, the YPG Kurds are the cousins of the PKK. They’re a terrorist group inside of Turkey. The PKK is seen as a terrorist group by the United States. The YPG is a Syrian offshoot of that group. They were the only ones that would fight with us — a few Arabs — to destroy ISIS, so we had to make an alliance with the Kurds because nobody else would help us.

We owe it to them to not abandon them, but we owe to them to not abandon them, but we owe it to Turkey to keep this group they consider to be terrorists away from the Turkish border. That’s what the safe zone was about. It was working until President Trump gave in to a threat by Erdogan.

Graham elaborated on the “fix” he would recommend:

KILMEADE: — is there a fix?

GRAHAM: Yes, yes. Here’s the fix. Join my effort to sanction Turkey for their incursion into Syria. We’re hitting their energy sector. We’re going to cut off all military aid. We’re going to hit their economy and really cripple Erdogan. If you join in with the congressional effort to sanction Turkey, he will get out because we’ll break his economy. And the sanctions stay in place as long as Turkey is in Syria.

Number two, you should send some soldiers in to make sure that these ISIS prison camps, that they don’t break out.

KILMEADE: Right now. Right now.

GRAHAM: Right now. Mr. President, while you have a chance, there are about 12,000 ISIS fighters who are going to break out if you don’t do something. So what I would do is tell Erdogan we’re going to send in, you know, whatever number you need — talk to General Keane — to secure these prison camps. And if you come anywhere near us, we will blow you out of the sky and blow you up.

Now, if he did that, we could reset. And how does this end? Have a safe zone between Turkey, because they feel threatened by the Kurds. We can tell Turkey we’ll keep the YPG Kurds away from the Turkish border, we’ll have American, Turkish, and international forces patrolling this safe zone, we can watch ISIS together, and we can put Syria back together again, get a peace deal in Geneva.

Graham notes that he’s spoken to President Trump directly on the issue. Clearly, he’s hoping to nudge the President via his public comments, as well. Will it work?

I’ve seen sound arguments on both sides of the issue. Mike Ford, for instance, has written a compelling series of articles on the topic right here this week. I know that Graham generally is considered a hawk (and rightly so) and has interventionist instincts that diverge from Trump’s. His proposed “fix” makes a lot of sense to me, however. What do you think?

Andrew McCarthy Pens a Must Read Reality Check On the Turkish-Kurdish Conflict

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan speaks during the opening of the new terminal of Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu, Somalia on January 25. 2015 AMISOM Photo / Ilyas Ahmed

Yesterday, I shared the revelation that Sen. Lindsey Graham had been prank called by the same Russians that got Rep. Adam Schiff by promising naked pictures of Donald Trump. In this most recent call, Graham is heard agreeing to many details about the Turkish-Kurdish conflict that he hasn’t been saying publicly. Namely, that it’s a volatile, complicated situation, with the United States stuck in the middle of two factional allies, neither of which is the clear good and both of which present strategic issues.

Among many things, a misunderstanding and over simplifying (and conservative media in general have been some of the worst) of who the YPG are, why Turkey wants them off the border, and how we have no good options has driven a level of hysteria that’s helping no one.

Here’s some of what I wrote.

In Graham’s prank phone call, we actually see him admit the issues at hand. The YPG are a real problem and Turkey does have legitimate reasons to push back on them. The group’s goal is to form a Marxist state made up of Turkish and Syrian land. As you can imagine, that raises the temperature in the area among all involved. Further, it must be said that the Kurds in Iraq are not the same as those in Northern Syria. The former are our traditional allies, the latter are not. Iraqi Kurds see the YPG as extremists (and, objectively, they are).

The United States, due to the failures of the past administration, has been put in an impossible situation. Graham appears to know this but hasn’t had the guts to say it publicly. He simply got caught with this prank call.

With Turkey saying they were coming across the border, there were no good options here. The fact that we are dealing with the YPG makes the matter extremely difficult navigate. We were placed in the middle of two historically warring groups. One is a NATO ally and is vitally strategic for our national security. The other did help us defeat ISIS in Northern Syria. This all paints a dangerous shade of gray and the President made the decision to not continue to play chicken with Turkey. Even if you think it’s the wrong move, the certainty with which some have been shouting crosses into the ridiculous.

Of course, there’s nothing I can write that Andrew McCarthy can’t come along and do better and he penned an excellent explainer at National Review yesterday. This actually came as a dissent to the stated opinion of the editorial board at the conservative magazine. I won’t give everything away here, because you should go read every word of it yourself, but I’ll hit some highlights.

I thus respectfully dissent from our National Review editorial.

President Trump, it says, is “making a serious mistake” by moving our forces away from what is described as “Kurdish territory”; the resulting invasion by superior Turkish forces will “kill American allies” while “carving out a zone of dominance” that will serve further to “inflame and complicate” the region.

Where to begin? Perhaps with the basic fact that there is no Kurdish territory. There is Syrian territory on Turkey’s border that the Kurds are occupying — a situation that itself serves to “inflame and complicate” the region for reasons I shall come to. Ethnic Kurds do not have a state. They live in contiguous parts of Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. Most are integrated into these countries, but many are separatists.

The Kurds have been our allies against ISIS, but it is not for us that they have fought. They fight ISIS for themselves, with our help. They are seeking an autonomous zone and, ultimately, statehood. The editorial fails to note that the Kurds we have backed, led by the YPG (People’s Protection Units), are the Syrian branch of the PKK (the Kurdistan Worker’s Party) in Turkey. The PKK is a militant separatist organization with Marxist-Leninist roots. Although such informed observers as Michael Rubin contend that the PKK has “evolved,” it remains a formally designated foreign terrorist organization under U.S. law. While our government materially supports the PKK’s confederates, ordinary Americans have been prosecuted for materially supporting the PKK.

This is a major issue, not because the Kurds simply exist, but because the YPG in Northern Syria operate as a terrorist organization in the pursuit of a Marxist state (yes, that may sound out of place, but they are indeed Marxists). While they did help fight ISIS in their own backyard, the United States can not provide them autonomy in a foreign country. That has left us in a gray zone with no clear end game. Leaving 50 U.S. advisors stranded in Northern Syria as human shields in the hopes they scare off Turkey’s incursion is not a plan. It’s an emotional plea.

Those of us opposed to intervention in Syria wanted Congress to think through these quite predictable outcomes before authorizing any further U.S. military involvement in this wretched region. Congress, however, much prefers to lay low in the tall grass, wait for presidents to act, and then complain when things go awry.

And so they have: The easily foreseeable conflict between Turkey and the Kurds is at hand. We are supposed to see the problem as Trump’s abandoning of U.S. commitments. But why did we make commitments to the Kurds that undermined preexisting commitments to Turkey? The debate is strictly framed as “How can we leave the Kurds to the tender mercies of the Turks?” No one is supposed to ask “What did we expect would happen when we backed a militant organization that is tightly linked to U.S.-designated terrorists and that is the bitter enemy of a NATO ally we knew would not abide its presence on the ally’s border?” No one is supposed to ask “What is the end game here? Are we endorsing the partition of Syria? Did we see a Kurdish autonomous zone as the next Kosovo?” (We might remember that recognition of Kosovo’s split from Serbia, over Russian objections, was exploited by the Kremlin as a rationale for promoting separatism and annexations in Georgia and Ukraine.)

And those questions are what much of the conservative media refuse to answer. Instead, they pretend it’s as simple as “protecting the Kurds” and “not abandoning our allies.” Which ally? Which Kurds? What do we do about a decades long battle between Turkey and PKK allied separatist groups? Do we send even more troops to set up a real safe zone? By what Congressional authority can that even be done? No one wants to talk about this stuff because it’s easier to virtue signal on Twitter.

I’ll let you go read McCarthy’s article to get the rest, as what I’ve posted here is just a small sampling. He meticulously goes through all angles related to what we are dealing with. The only certainty of this situation is that there are no easy answers. We simply can’t remain in Northern Syria into perpetuity protecting a designated terrorist group at odds with a NATO ally. If Congress feels either of those designations is wrong, they are welcome to get off their soap boxes and start doing some actual work.

Here’s my suggestion. If Congress truly feels strongly about this, nothing is stopping them from passing an AUMF that actually makes future actions legal. That would at least send a strong signal that they are serious. Yelling on Twitter is not accomplishing anything.

Trump, Jr Does a Terrific Dunk on Hillary Clinton, And That May Not Be All She’s Facing

Democrats have been trying to get President Donald Trump out of office pretty much since he was elected. They’ve never been able to accept that he won.

Because of that, the American people have had to deal with things like the Russia collusion hoax and the Mueller probe, and now the Ukraine effort. Thanks Democrats, for constantly being divisive because you didn’t get your own way.

Perhaps the best example of this is the 2016 candidate, Hillary Clinton herself.

She just hasn’t been able to deal with the loss and has been left to trying to poke at Trump on social media.

She tried this tweet attacking Trump which was completely lacking in self-awareness.

That didn’t go over well as she found out.

The best response was Donald Trump, Jr.

Some good follow-ups.

But there are a few investigations that Hillary Clinton should be thinking about.

Ukraine has just opened an investigation into Ukraine’s meddling in our election in 2016. According to reports, the Ukrainians said they did it to help Clinton and Politico has detailed some of the involvement of the Democrats working to help Hillary.

Congress has renewed their request for information from the DOJ that they asked for originally in July 2017 and have demanded to know the status of investigation into the meddling.

That letter also highlighted news reports that, during the 2016 presidential election, “Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump” and did so by “disseminat[ing] documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggest[ing] they were investigating the matter[.]”[2] Ukrainian officials also reportedly “helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers.”[3]

At the center of this plan was Alexandra Chalupa, described by reports as a Ukrainian-American operative “who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee” and who reportedly met with Ukrainian officials during the presidential election for the express purpose of exposing alleged ties between then-candidate Donald Trump, Paul Manafort, and Russia.[4] Politico also reported on a Financial Times story that quoted a Ukrainian legislator, Serhiy Leschenko, as saying that Trump’s candidacy caused “Kiev’s wider political leadership to do something they would never have attempted before: intervene, however indirectly, in a U.S. election.”[5]

There’s the DOJ itself, which has U.S. Attorney John Durham saying yes, indeed he is looking into Ukraine meddling in the election.

Finally, there’s the Russia probe investigation in which Clinton and the DNC paid Fusion GPS through Perkins Coie to get Russian dirt via Christopher Steele.

After three years of Democrats saying it’s collusion and a crime to get information from a foreign national, let’s lay it all out there, what was done. Thinking that Hillary is not going to look very good at the end of it.

Trump Jr. Fiercely Rips the Media Over Its Double-Standard Treatment of the Bidens vs. the Trumps

In this April 17, 2017 file photo, Donald Trump Jr., the son of President Donald Trump, speaks to media on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington. Donald Trump Jr.’s scheduled visit to Capitol Hill on Thursday marks a new phase in the Senate investigation of Moscow’s meddling in the 2016 election and a meeting that the president’s eldest son had with Russians during the campaign. Don Jr. was on fire Friday, speaking to Brian Kilmeade on his eponymous Fox program.

Jr. was especially inflamed over what he considers a gargantuan media double standard between the Trump family and the Bidens.

He wanted to address what some have asserted: that Joe’s family — in particular, Hunter Biden — is off-limits.

Here’s what DTJ had to say, with a reference to calls from blocked numbers before and after the Trump Tower meeting of 2016 between Russians and Trump campaign reps.

“Look at what they tried to do to me for three years. I mean, these clowns tried to put me in jail for three years because I took an unsolicited phone call.”

The vice president of the Trump Organization labeled the difference sickening:

“You know, the double standard is pretty sick, Brian. I’ve talked about it for a long time. We can play one way, or we can play another way, but we’ve got to be playing the same game.”

Watch the latest video at foxnews.com
Don put himself in a semi-Bidenish position:

“The reality is this: If Donald Trump Jr. flew on Air Force One with my father, the president, to China and came back with $1.5 dollars — not $1.5 billion, just $1.5 dollars — we’d solve the fake news media problem because their heads would explode.”

He’s certainly been scathed by the press a time or two. And he knows a bit about peeps going family-deep in a political attack.

As I covered in May, as part of the collusion clamor, Jr. said Dems sought to subpoena the tax records of his 4-year-old daughter, Chloe (here).

Actually, given the recent rise of children being utilized for political means (here, here, and here), that might not be a half-bad idea.

But Don ain’t into it:

“If Donald Trump Jr. had a no-show gig on a corrupt Ukrainian oil company while my father was in charge of the issues over there… minor details. I’ve never been in energy or oil. Minor details. I don’t speak Ukrainian. You think the press would have a problem with that, Brian?”

Hunter was, of course, on the board of Burisma Holdings while dad Joe was VP.

But Hunter probably won’t have to deal with cousin Eddie in the RV.

Don did:

“I had the media camped out in front of my apartment for two years. They don’t even try to find this guy to even get a comment.”

“It’s not fair. It’s not a level playing field,” he insisted. “And, so we have to fight back accordingly.”

Some critics of the news media would likely easily believe they were holed up like Eddie…and “full”:

Good ole Jane Fonda sure knows how to stay relevant in an era of has been and washed up activists looking for some relevancy. If only Abbey Hoffman could see her now.

Hanoi Jane who was so moved by Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate change activist from Sweden that she decided to move to Washington D.C. for a spell and was going to get herself arrested.

Mission Accomplished Jane.

According to Fox 2 Detroit

The arrest comes after Fonda, a liberal Hollywood celebrity long known for activism and outspokenness, said she soon planned to leave Tinseltown and relocate to the nation’s capital, at least temporarily.

Fonda told the newspaper she planned to spend about four months in Washington for a series of sit-ins and rallies – after getting an OK from Netflix to take time off from her series “Grace and Frankie” with Lily Tomlin. She claimed to have drawn inspiration from Greta Thunberg, the teenage climate-change activist from Sweden.

“She read the [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] report and she realized that the crisis was barreling straight at us, like a train and looked around and people weren’t behaving appropriately, Fonda said. “It so traumatized her that she stopped eating. I hadn’t realized that she stopped eating and speaking for almost a year. And that really hit me.”

There ya go. Listening to the advice of a 16-year-old kid who is not well versed on this subject because of F-E-E-L-I-N-G-S.

I will give a little credit to Jane. She has consistently been on the wrong side of most of the political debates in her lifetime. Her absolute disgusting behavior during the Vietnam war was one of the greatest shows of spitting in the faces of those that helped defend her right to do so.

Yet, here she is again almost 45 years later still making the wrong choices based on faulty data and getting arrested for the cause so she can show those Lil snot-nosed kids how it is done. She isn’t gonna wear any mask hiding her identity while chanting poorly constructed chants or hide behind twitter. HELL, NO, she is going to get arrested by the man and strut to the paddy wagon looking fabulous.

Plus she has lots of bail money so she can do this all day. Maybe she will share it with some of it with the rest of you radicals.

Don’t count on it.

Little Known Fact About What Adam Schiff Does in His Spare Time Tells Us Much About His Political Theatrics

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., talks to reporters about the release by the White House of a transcript of a call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskiy, at the Capitol in Washington, Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

During a recent Congressional hearing on the Trump/Zelensky whistleblower complaint, House Intel Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) despicably engaged in a parody reading of the call’s transcript, just outright making up things about the call that weren’t said.

Republicans were rightly outraged over the theatrical stunt for two reasons: 1) It made a mockery of the seriousness of the hearings and 2) The words weren’t Trump’s. At all.

As even Democrat journalist George Stephanopoulos noted when correcting House Speaker Pelosi’s comments on the issue last week, Schiff’s accounting of the call was his interpretation of it, not what was actually said.

While Schiff’s penchant for fabricating stories about the Trump administration and other Republicans is not exactly a new development, a little known fact about him reported by NPR this week explains quite a bit about his drama queen tendencies:

He’s an amateur screenwriter

Schiff was born in Massachusetts but represents Hollywood, so why not, right? His first screenplay was called, Remnant, which Schiff told The New Yorker “was a post-Holocaust story.” He then wrote a murder-mystery called Minotaur, and is now working on a “spy drama.”

None of his screenplays have sold.

“I had a friend who was a producer,” Schiff told The New Yorker, “and he said there were two answers in Hollywood — ‘Yes’ and ‘Here’s a check.’ I was getting lots of yeses.”

After NPR posted a tweet with a link to their piece on Schiff and noted he was an “amateur screenwriter”, Twitter users understandably had some thoughts:

It all makes so much more sense now. Doesn’t make what he’s doing in Congress right, though. But it does help explain quite a bit.

In a stunning announcement at the end of his show today on Fox News, Shepard Smith revealed that he had asked to be released from his contract and it was granted. His last day was today at the network that he started when it first aired 23 years ago.

In a statement released by the network, Smith said…

Smith, in a statement, said he had asked Fox to be released from his contract. “Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave Fox News and begin a new chapter,” Smith said. “After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged. The opportunities afforded this guy from small town Mississippi have been many. It’s been an honor and a privilege to report the news each day to our loyal audience in context and with perspective, without fear or favor. I’ve worked with the most talented, dedicated and focused professionals I know and I’m proud to have anchored their work each day — I will deeply miss them.”

Smith was recently in a bit of a verbal scrum with fellow Fox News host Tucker Carlson two weeks ago that was covered in the Hollywood Reporter and could very well be part of why Smith is abruptly leaving.

From the article a couple of weeks back…

The conflict crescendoed Tuesday night, when Carlson laughed at Smith for condemning one of his guests, lawyer attorney Joe diGenova, for calling Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano a “fool” one night earlier. “Apparently our daytime host who hosted Judge Napolitano was watching last night and was outraged by what you said and, quite ironically, called you partisan,” Carlson told diGenova, chuckling. “Unlike maybe some dayside hosts, I’m not very partisan.”

“Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and president Jay Wallace communicated to Smith this morning to stop attacking Carlson,” Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman reported Thursday afternoon, though he noted that “Fox News spokesperson Irena Briganti denied that management had any direct conversation with Smith.

Smith was not shy about criticizing President Trump and was a target of Trump supporters for it.

Adam Schiff’s Committee Employs at Least Two Former Colleagues of the Whistleblower So Was There Collusion

(AP Photo/Alex Brandon, File)

Little by little we’re learning a lot more about the process that led to the “whistleblower” complaint to come to the attention of Adam Schiff’s goons and what we’re seeing isn’t all that pretty.

What we know is that the whistleblower was a CIA analyst who was seconded to the National Security Council during the last part of the Obama administration. In that position, he frequently briefed then-Vice President Joe Biden. He left the NSC sometime around the time that the Trump administration came in (my gut is not that long afterwards but I don’t know that for a fact) and returned to the CIA. What is apparent in his own statement is that he only learned about the conversation in question because he was gossiping with people about it…people who had a duty not to divulge what they’d heard in their official duties to people not cleared to have that information.

So we have a good idea of how the “whistleblower” came into contact with the information. But now we have an additional wrinkle.

We’ve known all along that Adam Schiff’s office was intimately involved in developing this complaint. So involved, in fact, that Adam Schiff will be an actual witness in any impeachment trial:

Lindsey Graham Says Whistleblowers Will Have No Anonymity and Adam Schiff Will Be a Witness in Any Impeachment Trial

Now we’re seeing that Schiff’s committee has much deeper ties to the whistleblower.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff recruited two former National Security Council aides who worked alongside the CIA whistleblower at the NSC during the Obama and Trump administrations, the Washington Examiner has learned.

Abigail Grace, who worked at the NSC until 2018, was hired in February, while Sean Misko, an NSC aide until 2017, joined Schiff’s committee staff in August, the same month the whistleblower submitted his complaint.

It would seem that the whistleblower approached former colleagues with his gripes, it wasn’t just a call to a random number on committee staff. This personal acquaintance with the whistleblower goes a long way towards explaining Adam Schiff blatant lie about the contact his staff…if not himself, personally…had with the whistleblower.

While Grace seems somewhat normal, there is no doubt that she’s very much a progressive:

Grace, 36, was hired to help Schiff’s committee investigate the Trump White House. That month, Trump accused Schiff of “stealing people who work at White House.” Grace worked at the NSC from 2016 to 2018 in U.S.-China relations and then briefly at the Center for a New American Security think tank, which was founded by two former senior Obama administration officials.

Misko seems like quite a piece of work. The kind of unethical staffer who has no compunction about lying to get his way rather than presenting his honest assessment and letting the boss decide.

Misko, 37, worked in the Obama administration as a member of the secretary of state’s policy planning staff under Deputy Chief of Staff Jake Sullivan, who became Hillary Clinton’s top foreign policy official during her 2016 presidential campaign. In 2015, Misko was the director for the Gulf states at the NSC, remaining there into the Trump administration’s first year.

The same source said that Misko had not been trusted by Trump appointees. “There were a few times where documents had been signed off for final editing before they go to the national security adviser for signature,” the source said. “And he actually went in and made changes after those changes were already finished. So he basically tried to insert, without his boss’s approval.

“There were meetings in which he protested very heavily and next thing you know there’s an article in the paper about the contents of that meeting.” Misko often clashed with other NSC personnel at meetings, another source said. Both Grace and Misko were close to Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, Trump’s national security adviser from Feb. 2017 until May 2018.

The article notes that both staffers have a duty to not divulge privileged executive branch information they had access to while on the NSC as if that were more than a Trivial Pursuit question. People with access to secret material who gossip about that information with people ho aren’t cleared are hardly likely to be restrained in how they use it to further political ends. And when you have people who have access to that privileged material who are openly hostile to the president (tell me another joke about a non-partisan civil service) and have been hired to investigate him will hardly let a mere pledge stand it their way.

A better theory is that the whistleblower knew he had two former colleagues who were fervent Democrats and working to investigate Trump. He heard scuttlebutt that he perceived might be harmful to Trump if packaged in the right way. He approached them on a strategy to maximize the damage. And here we are. The only question outstanding, other than the name of the whistleblower, is the degree to which Schiff’s staff wrote the complaint itself.

It looks like people are responding to former CIA Director John Brennan’s call to action.

Two Congressional sources have told The Daily Beast that additional whistleblowers have contacted the House Democrats on the Intelligence Committee. They report:

Congressional investigators are currently vetting the new accounts they’ve received for credibility. Accordingly, knowledgeable sources would not discuss where in the government these new would-be whistleblowers come from, nor what they purport to have to say.

It’s also unknown if their accounts are as significant as that of the intelligence whistleblower whose alarm over President Trump’s July 25 phone call sparked the impeachment probe. Investigators often encounter cranks as well as those with genuine knowledge of wrongdoing. Nor is it clear if these new ostensible whistleblowers have contacted any inspectors general, as the original two whistleblowers did.

Attorney Mark Zaid, who represents the first two whistleblowers, told The Daily Beast, “There are clearly numerous whistleblowers out there and many people who possess firsthand relevant information who could come forward, and I expect some will.”

For those of us who followed the senate confirmation hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh, all of this is very predictable. Last fall, it seemed that a new witness came forward every day. And as time went on, the stories became more and more fantastic. One woman said that every month or so, Kavanaugh would throw a rape party. Another woman, who had been drinking heavily, vaguely remembers a man exposing himself to her at a college dorm party. It might have been Judge Kavanaugh. There were at least five or six of these completely bogus accusations made against him. All of which were lies.

I think it’s time for Adam Schiff to be investigated. I would be interested to read his communications, particularly around the time that the whistleblower was in touch with his staff. We need to determine what level of involvement Schiff had with this individual. Additionally, Schiff needs to be held accountable for his lie. In an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, he was asked if he or any members of his staff had spoken to the whistleblower. He answered, “We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to.” When his lie was revealed, Schiff “expressed regret.” Is that all a Democrat has to do when they’re caught in a lie? It would seem so.

Schiff told The Daily Beast he would not comment on “whether investigators had heard from additional whistleblowers. Schiff noted that his committee rarely acknowledges receiving whistleblower complaints because “people can reverse-engineer who whistleblowers are” given an abundance of identifying information.” Always looking out for the little guy.

Okay, so let’s brace ourselves for the long line of partisans we’ll be hearing from over the next several weeks.

And when in the world will the FISA report be released?

In Order to Ensure ‘the Safety of Everyone,’ a 12-Year-Old is Arrested and Charged with a Felony. The Reason is Incredible

Not so long ago in public schools, you could get in huge trouble for giving someone the finger.

Now, I think you can say the actual words. To the teacher.

They have to affirm your feelings and respect your “dignity.”

But the finger can still get you in hot water, just as it did a 12-year-old girl in Kansas.

She delivered the digit to some dudes and dudettes, and the police took her away in cuffs.

I’ll say that again: She gave someone the finger, and the police came to the school. And arrested her. And hauled her off in shackles.

Oh — she didn’t used the middle finger; it was the other one that did her in. The one next to her thumb.

As reported by The Kansas City Star, the youngster at Westridge Middle School was asked by a peer during a class discussion which classmate she’d kill if she could pick five.

Not a very nice question.

The chick shaped her fingers like a gun and pointed at four kids before pointing to herself.

Along with other classmates, she was sent to the principal’s office, where a school resource officer recommended calling the popo over her illegal possession of a firearm — I mean, firehand.

Cops cuffed her, put her in the car, and raced her off to the Joint for processing.

She was charged with a felony for making a threat. Or, as court records put it, “unlawfully and feloniously [communicating] a threat to commit violence, with the intent to place another, in fear, or with the intent to cause the evacuation, lock down or disruption in regular, ongoing activities.”

She was released to her mom.

The mother/daughter pair will have their day in court Tuesday.

Shawnee Mission School District spokesman Dave Smith told KSHB the school had nothing to do with it:

“I want to be very clear: The arrest of this student was wholly unrelated to any district policy,” Shawnee Mission School District spokesman Dave Smith told KSHB. “It was a municipal police department decision, and our policies don’t impact police department decisions.”

The incident occurred on September 18th, and the girl’s now living in California.

Guess her parents wanted to put her somewhere less left-wing.

Jon Cavanaugh, the miniature criminal’s granddad, said the whole thing stinks:

“I think that this is something that probably could have been handled in the principal’s office and got completely out of hand,” he told the Star. “I’m really worried about my granddaughter’s future.”

The Overland Park Police assured the public:

“Ensuring the safety of everyone in a school, or community, is a top priority and requires constant vigilance.”

Right.

No word on whether she had a license for that finger, but if she’s got a spooky-looking knuckle,  I believe that constitutes a “weapon of war.”
