Jon Voight Tells ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ Democrats Have Left America, but They May Have Left a Lot More than That

Oscar winner and 4-time nominee Jon Voight is at it again, saying things entirely out of step with much of Hollywood.

In the recent past, he’s surely swollen some Tinseltown veins by declaring Donald Trump “the greatest president of this century” and “the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”

And in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter — at the premiere of daughter Angelina’s Disney biggie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil — he gives Trump the “higher, higher” treatment accompanied by a big “lower, lower” to Democrats.

In fact, he believes Dems have totally left America:

“I’m a big supporter of our president, and I feel that what has happened with the Democratic party is something that I’d never thought I’d see happen. This is not the Democratic party of John Kennedy, who I was in support of. They had many heroes in the Democratic party. They have no heroes today. There’s a lot of slander and name-calling and lying that’s going on and passing itself off as news. This is my opinion. That’s where I stand, and I don’t like it. Somebody has to stand up and say that and punch back at that nonsense. This is not America. The Democratic Party doesn’t represent America anymore.”

I was just saying something similar last week — JFK was a man with a lot to say. He was a leader with a vision, full of ideas he believed would better the nation. And he went to bat for those.

It seems the party has devolved into little more than a collection of breathtakingly absurd jabs at Donald Trump. For what do they stand? What are their superior ideals? Why aren’t they trying to sell them?

Thanks to the above, they’re destined for a 2020 loss.

Jon thinks so, too:

“Donald Trump is going to win the presidency once again, and this is going to be proven to be nonsense just as the two years with [the Mueller Report] and millions of dollars wasted and has taken those people in the House who are Democrats away from doing the business of the people.”

The legendary actor also discussed last month’s controversy involving Eric McCormack and Debra Messing, who appeared to champion a blacklisting of Trump supporters in entertainment (here, here, and here):

“The Left was so concerned about the Hollywood Ten during the ‘50s, but they are not at all concerned with the blacklist today and people losing jobs.”

He wants to see some within the party resist the tide and save it from irrelevance:

“They are very outspoken about it, and they attack anybody who is for Trump or who is for the Republican Party. The Democratic Party has been undermined and overtaken, and I wish it could recoup itself and that there could be people who would stand up for the Democratic Party that we have known and we have counted on, and there are not anybody in that group who is standing up and protecting it. They are falling in.”

I must admit, I’m baffled by the Dems’ apparent lack of attention to 2020. It looks as if they’ve all but given up the presidency for at least another 5 years, in exchange for hope of ousting The Donald via other means. But if they succeed with impeachment, what does that get them? President Mike Pence?? And his face-off with a weak opponent for the next term, in front of a voter base that’s been galvanized by a partisan eviction of the guy they elected?

Have they left America? Irrespective of that, they seem to have left governance.

Arkansas Woman Tells Cops She Had No Idea Her Hair Bow was a Bag of Crystal Meth: ‘I Didn’t Know That was There’

Ever had gum in your hair? It’s hard to get out.

The same is true of crystal meth.

At least, I assume.

That would explain why 38-year-old Jessic Kropp kept hers in, despite the fact that she’d just been pulled over by the cops.

According to the arrest affidavit, Jessica’s tag had expired. Hence the traffic stop.

She had ample time to remove her illegal accessory — rather than pulling over when the blue lights filled her rearview, she went ahead and cruised through a neighborhood first.

Perhaps she wanted make sure she was presentable.

A few checks in the mirror. “Anything in my teeth?”

She was certainly gussied — her bleached blonde ‘do was pulled up and to the side, sorority-girl style, via a spunky pink scrunchy.

But the bit of detail that really niced her up was the adorable bow — white, to match her tie-dyed shirt, and middled by a sassy pink tie to go with the binding of her pony.

Cute.

Patrol Officer Kenneth Looney asked for her drivers license. She laid it out for him: Her DL was suspended, she didn’t have insurance, the car was borrowed, and she had no idea where the registration was.

The officer ran a quick check which revealed five outstanding warrants, four failure to appears, and one failure to pay fines warrant.

More importantly, Kenneth did something many a man has failed to do when a woman most deserved it: He noticed what she’d done with her hair.

The policeman explained to Fox:

“As I was detaining [her], I observed what appeared to be a bow in her hair.”

Yes, man! Women want you to notice the ways they spruce up.

He apparently has an eye for detail:

“The bow appeared to be a small, zip-locked bag containing a white crystal-like substance of suspected methamphetamine.”

From Fox LA:

Looney described the bag as having a small rubber band around the middle, “giving it a bow shape,” and added that it was attached to a bobby pin. He said it was placed on the right side of Kropp’s head, attached to her hair.

Like I said.

Kenneth: Are you serious?

Jessica: What?

Kenneth: You have a bow in your hair made from a bag of meth.

Jessica played coy. A bit of, “What — this old thing?”

“[Expletive], I didn’t know that was there, someone else put that there and I didn’t know what it was.’”

Ladies, never let a stranger do your hair. Only trust your regular stylist.

Perhaps not merely coincidentally, a search of the car turned up more bags of white hair product.

Jessica was charged with:

  • possession of meth with the intent to deliver
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • driving on a suspended license
  • no liability insurance

She was taken to the Marion County jail, where she’s being held to the tune of $22,530.

All because of a doggone Breaking Bad barrette.

Don’t get too down and out, Jessica — you’re not alone.

If only she’d been in Louisiana, rather than Arkansas. She could’ve bonded with 23-year-old Ashely Beth Rolland, who got inserted into a Bayou State clink in August because cops also discovered a bag of crystal she had no idea was there — in her vagina.

In Break With Pelosi and Schiff, House Democrat Calls for Floor Vote on Impeachment Inquiry (So Does Beto)

Ever since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared an impeachment inquiry two weeks ago, she has said in interviews and elsewhere that calling for a floor vote in the U.S. House on the issue was not a Constitutional requirement.

While she’s technically correct, not calling for such a vote gives off the appearance of not having confidence that your caucus will carry through with their stated support of either an inquiry or impeachment itself. It’s also an indicator Pelosi doesn’t want to put some vulnerable House Democrats on the hot seat in a crucial election year.

Plus, as a fired up Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) noted Tuesday, Pelosi’s refusal to do so has hamstrung House Republicans and Trump’s legal team:

… because there has not been a vote to launch an impeachment inquiry, because the minority does not have any rights for subpoenas, because the president doesn’t have the right to have council present to ask questions for subpoena power, to present evidence.

Earlier today, House Democrat John Garamendi broke with fellow California Reps. (and impeachment circus ringleaders) Pelosi and Adam Schiff, telling CNN it’s time to hold a vote on the issue:

“I think it’s time for us to put a vote on the floor, a resolution for the inquiry structured in such a way that it can move forward with full power of the Congress behind it,” Garamendi said in an interview on “CNN Newsroom.”

“That will further strengthen Congress’s hand,” he added.

“They want a fight, OK,” Garamendi said of the White House. “Then let us arm ourselves completely and totally with the full power of Congress.”

According to The Hill, Garamendi “does not serve on any of the main committees leading the impeachment inquiry.” But just in case you think Garamendi might be one of the more tame Democrats in the House, think again. In the same interview, he said those who do not cooperate with the House’ investigation should be carted off to jail.

Garamendi is not the only Democrat who came out today calling for a formal vote on the House floor for an impeachment inquiry. So did 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke:

“I don’t want to question the speaker’s wisdom and I’m sure she has a very good reason for proceeding in the way that she has,” the 2020 hopeful told MSNBC. “But to your question, I’d love to remove that as a talking point or a reason for the kind of obstruction that you’re seeing from the president.”

MSNBC host Hallie Jackson had asked O’Rourke whether he thought House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., should act to take away the administration’s legal argument for not cooperating with her inquiry.

It’s not really a “talking point” but I wouldn’t expect him to characterize it any other way.

Pelosi should hold that vote on an impeachment inquiry. On one hand, not doing it protects vulnerable incumbents for the time being and gives Republicans and the White House few legal options.
On the other hand, the longer she refuses to, the more it adds credence to Republican and White House claims that this is all nothing but a giant sham a la the Russia collusion hoax.

She’s apparently decided the risk that this will be viewed as a sham over the long term is worth the risk, which is one reason why Pence is traveling this week to key House districts – to remind voters that elections, not impeachment, are how we settle political differences.

The DOJ Finally Decides to Prosecute a Federal Official For Leaking

A bit of news broke the afternoon involving the arrest of a federal official.

Henry K. Frese, a DIA official, was charged with leaking classified information to two different journalists, one of which he was apparently sleeping with. Remember that the next time the media tell you are virtuous and upstanding they are.

Here’s the report via The Federalist.

An employee at the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency was arrested Wednesday on federal charges of leaking top-secret classified information to two reporters.

Henry Kyle Frese, a 30-year-old counter-terrorism analyst at the DIA, allegedly leaked classified information to two reporters whose identities were not unveiled by authorities in 2018 and this year, one of which Frese was romantically involved with, according to the indictment.

Federal authorities say one reporter wrote eight articles stemming from at least five leaks from Frese.

While that linked article doesn’t rely the names of the reporters in question, we know who they are. One of them is CNBC’s Amanda Macias, who was in the romantic relationship with Frese. The other was an NBC reporter named Courtney Kube.

Much of what was leaked involved intelligence on foreign weapons capabilities and tests, including Russia and China.

CNBC has already suspended Macias.

We should probably go ahead and congratulate her on her new gig at The New York Times. You know it’s coming.

You also won’t be surprised to learn that Frese’s social media showed him to be rabidly anti-Trump.

I’d assume we are less than a day away from this guy being turned into a #resistance hero and Trump being accused of targeting him for his political views.

While this leaker isn’t directly related to the Trump-Russia fiasco, it does at least show a willingness by the DOJ to pursue these cases when they feel they have enough evidence. This appears to be an open and shut case. Hopefully, there are many more to come in the near future.

“Failing Campaign”: In Tweet Response, Trump Pinpoints Exactly Why Biden Jumped On Impeachment Bandwagon

Over the course of the last 2-plus weeks, Joe Biden has skated right up to the impeachment line in campaign speeches and even in an op/ed he recently wrote about the July Trump/Zelensky phone call. But he had been resistant to actually call for Trump’s removal, and instead had implored (Democratic) members of Congress to get to work investigating the allegations.

In a speech in New Hampshire earlier today, Biden reversed course and joined the chorus of other Democrats in calling for Trump’s impeachment:

“Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation and committed impeachable acts,” Biden told a crowd of supporters in Rochester, N.H. “To preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached.”

“That’s not only because of what he’s done. The answer to whether he has committed acts sufficient toward impeachment is obvious,” he continued.

“We see it in Trump’s own words. We see it in the texts from State Department officials that have been made public. We see it in his pulling much of the United States government into his corrupt schemes, individuals within the government, his appointees,” Biden said. “We have to remember that impeachment isn’t only about what the president has done. It’s about the threat the president poses to the nation.”

Watch Biden’s remarks below:

President Trump responded to Biden’s call with a couple of tweets. The first one being speculation as to why he finally jumped on board and the second one being a new ad on the Ukraine issue:

“Joe’s Failing Campaign gave him no other choice!” is the key line from Trump’s first tweet. It’s not something that the media has given a lot of attention to specifically, but it’s true.

Biden’s campaign is in trouble. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has caught up to him. Real Clear Politics now lists her as being ahead in polling averages.

His 3rd quarter fundraising haul was dismal for someone who remained ahead by double digits in polling for so long, including well before he declared his candidacy in April. Key big money donors are panicking, and recently held a closed door meeting to discuss what path to take going forward.

Biden has come off as unprepared to handle Trump’s sustained attacks on him regarding Ukraine. He has been seen snapping at reporters whose questions hit a little too close to home. His campaign has worked overtime to try and shut down negative media stories, interviews, and Trump campaign ads about the Ukraine issue.

Not only that, but to date he hasn’t done any sit-down interviews regarding the allegations about him, his son, and the firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor, which the elder Biden bragged about on video in 2018.

With all that in mind, what’s a guy who is suddenly on the ropes after months of having a comfortable lead in polling to do? Not just go for broke, but go for woke by way of doing what Sanders and Warren have already done: Call for impeachment.

Of course, in contrast to how they portrayed Trump’s call with Zelensky as politically opportunistic, the MSM won’t bother to point out how politically convenient it is for Biden to call for the ouster of the man who would be his opponent in the 2020 general election. But that’s another topic for another day.

Biden is still in the top tier to be sure, but his campaign has been wobbly in recent weeks and he now finds himself in the role of playing “catch-up” to Warren. Will joining the impeachment bandwagon put him on solid ground again?

Stay tuned…

The Court Is in Session – Part II

(AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite, File)

Earlier, we highlighted the cases heard by the Supreme Court on Monday of this week (as well as the many delights of October!) Three more cases were heard by the Court yesterday, all on very “hot button” issues.  (READ: The Court Is in Session – Part I.)

First up was Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia. This case examines the applicability of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act to claims of employment discrimination based on sexual orientation.  The pertinent portion of the Act prohibits discrimination in the employment context “because of [an] individual’s race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.”  The law was first passed in 1964 and has not, to date, been construed (by SCOTUS) to encompass sexual orientation or transgenderism. Plaintiff Gerald Bostock was a coordinator for child welfare services in Clayton County, Georgia, for a number of years.  In 2013, he joined a gay recreational softball league and, according to Bostock, “from that point on, my life changed, ” he says. “Within months, I was fired for being gay. I lost my livelihood. I lost my medical insurance and at the time I was fighting prostate cancer. It was devastating.” Bostock filed suit in federal court in Georgia, alleging that his termination violated Title VII, in that his termination (ostensibly for being gay) was prohibited by the “because of sex” provision.

Bostock’s case was consolidated for oral argument with Altitude Express v. Zarda, a case filed in federal court in New York by Donald Zarda following his 2010 termination by his skydiving company employer.  Zarda had informed a customer that he was gay in order to allay her concerns about being strapped together with him during the jump.  The customer complained and Zarda was terminated. He asserted this was due to the customer’s homophobia (though the customer also contended that he had touched her inappropriately during the jump.) Zarda died in a base jumping accident in Switzerland in 2014 and his family continued the litigation in his name.  Similar to BostockZarda involves the question of whether discrimination based on sexual orientation is encompassed within the language of Title VII.

The consolidated cases were then followed by the case of Harris Funeral Homes v. EEOC. This was another employment discrimination case, only Harris involves the question of whether the provisions of Title VII also prohibit discrimination based on an individual being transgender. In that case, Aimee Stephens, a Michigan funeral director, was terminated following her declaration in 2013 that she intended to live and dress as a woman. (Prior to 2013, Stephens was known as “Anthony” and dressed and lived as a man.) Stephens made a claim for discrimination with the EEOC, which then sued the funeral home, asserting that firing Stephens for being transgender violated Title VII.

ACLU attorney David Cole presented an interesting argument on behalf of Stephens:

Cole described the case in simple terms. Stephens is being treated differently because of the sex she was assigned at birth. If she had been assigned a female sex at birth, he argued, she would not have been fired for wanting to come to work dressed as a woman. But instead she was assigned a male sex, Cole continued, and so she was fired because she failed to conform to the sex stereotypes of her employer. It can’t be the case, Cole asserted, that Ann Hopkins – the plaintiff in the Supreme Court’s original case on sex stereotyping – couldn’t be fired or denied a promotion for being insufficiently feminine, but Stephens could be fired for being insufficiently masculine.

Once again, SCOTUSblog’s Amy Howe provides an excellent analysis of Tuesday’s arguments.  The transcripts of the arguments can be found here and here.

We’ll provide additional overviews as to upcoming arguments, as well as some in-depth analysis, in the coming days. However, I also want to point out that the Court granted certiorari this past Friday on several more cases of interest: June Medical Serv., et al. v. Gee, Sec., LA Dept. of Health (consolidated with) Gee, Sec., LA Dept. of Healthv. June Medical Serv., et al. – cases involving a challenge to the Louisiana law which requires admitting privileges for doctors who perform abortions; United States v. Sineneng-Smith (reviewing a 9th Circuit decision which found a federal law making it a felony to encourage or induce illegal immigration for financial gain unconstitutionally broad).  Look for these cases to be heard early in 2020. Additionally, on Monday, the Court opted to move forward with oral argument in the case of New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. City of New York, New York, a case involving New York City’s since-repealed ban on transporting guns outside the city limits, despite the fact that the ban was subsequently changed.  This one is now scheduled to be heard in December.

Hillary Clinton Sure Sounds Like She Wants to Run Again

I’m still not going to bet on it happening, but Hillary Clinton is back in the spotlight and has been making some rather curious statements. Over the past few days, she’s twice hinted at wanting to run again. This comes in the midst of Joe Biden losing the national lead and Elizabeth Warren becoming the new front runner. Perhaps Hillary sees an opening?

Here’s one example.

I’m not sure how good her grasp of the English language is, but in order to do something “again,” you’d need to actually do it the first time around. Last I checked, and maybe I’m just wrong, she lost to Donald Trump and did not beat him in 2016.

Westlake Legal Group I-can-beat-him-AGAIN-620x391 Hillary Clinton Sure Sounds Like She Wants to Run Again Uncategorized Front Page Stories Featured Story

It’s cute that PBS and the media, in general, entertain this lunacy. I’m old enough to remember Hillary admonishing Trump to the cheers of the chattering class over not accepting the results of an election. It was going to destroy our democracy even. Now, she’s running around like a Stacey Abrams mini-me and the beltway clap like seals.

It’s actually not that obvious, as a recent polled showed her only tied 45/45 with him in a hypothetical rematch. That’s worse than all the other leading Democrat candidates. In any situation where she runs again, she’d almost certainly lose. People simply don’t like Hillary Clinton.

But her hint dropping didn’t stop there. She also replied directly to Trump on Twitter recently.

Oh, for the love of all things, please tempt her. I can’t explain how great such a rematch would be.

Will she actually try to ride in on a white horse and save her party from the socialist wing that’s currently favored to overtake it for the nomination? I’ve got my doubts. But she’s making noise about it that she wasn’t making a few months ago. If Joe Biden continues to falter, perhaps she sees an on-ramp to take advantage of. She’d almost immediately garner the big donor class (given that Warren is shunning them now that she’s already taken their money). Wall Street would love her, as they hate Sanders and Warren.

If anything, it’d make the 2020 race a lot more interesting.

Activision Blizzard, the folks behind such games as World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, is the latest company facing backlash after actions many believe were kowtowing to China.

Blizzard is now facing an avalanche of criticism after suspending a professional Hearthstone player at one of their tournaments and making him forfeit the $10,000 prize money he won.

The player, Chung Ng Wai, was interviewed during a live broadcast and expressed support for the Hong Kong protesters, saying, “Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times,” a slogan of the protesters.

Not only did Blizzard punish the player as we previously reported, but they suspended him for a full year and also fired the casters who were doing the interview, judging them part of the offense. Blizzard said they will not work with them in the future.

Chung said he didn’t regret what he did. “Today, what I have lost in Hearthstone is four years of time,” Chung said, referring to the years he spent playing the game, according to the New York Times. “But if Hong Kong loses, it would be the matter of a lifetime.”

And Blizzard’s alleged original Weibo statement was troubling to say the least, saying they were very angry and disappointed by Chung’s statement and didn’t condone it in any way. They also added they would “always respect and defend the pride of our country.”

Weibo is one of the biggest social media platforms in China.

Blizzard is an American company. But you wouldn’t know it from the statements meant to appease the Chinese.

Blizzard players were not happy. They flooded the forums such as the one for World of Warcraft, bashing Blizzard’s decision and posting support for human rights, criticism of China and Blizzard, and support for Hong Kong. While Blizzard said their objection was to political expression on the broadcast, they reportedly deleted those posts while leaving up posts that supported their decision.

Some are now calling for a boycott of Blizzard.

Perhaps the most significant name calling for a boycott and cancelling his World of Warcraft subscription was Mark Kern, who led the team that created the game.

From NY Times:

In an interview, Mr. Kern said China was a major source of revenue for the gaming industry, and he knew he was “closing many doors” careerwise by speaking out on Twitter.

But Mr. Kern, who lived in Hong Kong as a teenager, said the company’s actions were “a deterioration of Blizzard values that really broke my heart.”

“It’s one thing to stay out of politics in games, quite another to take harsh, punitive actions designed to appease a government whose values are against what Blizzard has traditionally stood for,” he said.

Blizzard isn’t the only company embroiled. The NBA is also facing backlash for appearing to toady to the Chinese and apologize for a pro-Hong Kong statement made by Daryl Morey, the general manager of the Houston Rockets. South Park mocked China for their censorship and is now banned from Chinese platforms.

People are beginning to wake up to China’s influence curtailing free speech, but the encroachment has been going on for some time. It’s time for people to be loud and verbal that we, as Americans, will not tolerate it.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle agreed and blasted Blizzard’s actions.

“Recognize what’s happening here. People who don’t live in #China must either self censor or face dismissal & suspensions,” Senator Marco Rubio, Republican of Florida, wrote on Twitter. “China using access to market as leverage to crush free speech globally.”

Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon, a Democrat, concurred, saying on Twitter that Activision Blizzard showed “it is willing to humiliate itself to please the Chinese Communist Party.”

Will The Supreme Court Get Involved in an Electoral College Issue From 2016?

The year 2016 was a doozy of an election on the national level. Donald Trump surprised a lot of people ( including myself) when he won the Presidency and made Hillary a two-time loser in POTUS runs. The reason why Trump was able to pull off this feat was because of two simple words.

Electoral College.

I have written here at Red State before about this…READ  Yuck: Colorado Decides To Bypass The Electoral College With National Popular Vote and the reason why it needs to be preserved.

Now a new challenge is possibly facing a showdown in the United States Supreme Court and it could radically alter how we have done elections in this country for over 240 years.

According to…CNN

Three presidential electors in Washington state who voted for Colin Powell in 2016 rather than Hillary Clinton and were fined under state law, are asking the US Supreme Court to take up their appeal and decide whether a state can bind an elector to vote for the state’s popular vote winner.

“The original text of the Constitution,” their lawyers argued in court papers filed Monday afternoon, “secures to electors the freedom to vote as they choose.”

If the Supreme Court agrees to hear the appeal of the so-called “faithless electors,” it could thrust the justices into yet another high-passion political fight in the heat of the 2020 presidential election. It comes as some predict that the volatile political atmosphere and disputes over redistricting could further emphasize the role of the Electoral College in the upcoming election.

The states have always run federal elections. However, with this new wrinkle, the states would pick people who then do not have to abide by the state’s very own rules if the faithless electors are ruled constitutional on a federal level.

The 10th amendment to the United States Consitution declares that…

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Even though people have argued that the 12th amendment was passed to deal with some complications in the process of federal elections it does not specifically say how states were to deal with the rules for selecting electors. That, at least in my mind would mean that the states get to pick the process.

However, can you imagine a scenario where 10 or 12 states have a different processes to pick and allow electors to do what they want? That would be an epic mess.

I am fascinated about this whole process and will keep an eye on what SCOTUS decides to do. I don’t think they have much choice to take it up and we will see soon enough.

Why Is Some Conservative Media Defending Elizabeth Warren’s Pregnancy Lie

Elizabeth Warren flat out lied.

For some years she has told the story of how she was fired as a special education teacher by an evil patriarchal principal because she was pregnant. Never mind that that isn’t how she described the event early in her political life, but now we have documents from the school board indicating that she was offered a contract extension and declined it.

This is pretty banal, resume/life story fluffing. It happens all the time, like when Al Gore claimed to have invented the Internet and John Kerry went on his super secret boat ride up the Mekong. So why is it that the media, left and right, are jumping to her defense?

And this from, naturally, National Review:

To the best of my knowledge, absolutely no one denies that pregnancy discrimination happens and, under some circumstances, can be illegal. If someone is arguing that, please point them out. But just because “some people did something,” as they say, doesn’t mean it has happened to every woman who was pregnant. It certainly doesn’t mean that it is off limits to call Warren out on her lies when her own words and the documentary evidence says that is the case.

While I understand Harwood and Vox jumping up to save their precious, what I really fail to understand is the impulse among a certain class of alleged conservatives to throw their backs out of joint defending leftist politicians and leftist media.
