Trump Co-opts Louisiana Gubernatorial Election To Gauge Impeachment Crisis

Louisiana is a deep red state with a deep blue governor.

John Bel Edwards, despite his pro-life views, has been a classic Democrat while in office. He has threatened to cut everything from nursing homes to LSU football in an effort to get taxes raises. He forced through a partial renewal of an expiring tax and dared to call it a tax cut. He passed a teacher salary increase that was just enough to put good money in the coffers of the teachers unions while the teachers themselves end up only seeing somewhere between $12-50 per month in increased pay.

Meanwhile, the state’s population is shrinking as jobs flee and the citizens follow them. There is virtually nothing to keep many young, college-educated workers in the state, and blue-collar workers have watched Edwards’ allies sue oil and gas jobs out of the state and manufacturing jobs shut down.

Morning Consult, meanwhile, has President Donald Trump with a +15 net favorability rating, and the lowest number you can find in any poll as far as approval goes is 54%. Among Republicans, his favorability is 94%.

With a gubernatorial race coming up this Saturday, and with every major candidate in the race making their support or relationship with Trump a central issue, it’s becoming a race to watch if you want to see the effect of the all the impeachment talk going on in Washington D.C.

Clearly it’s important to Trump that the Republicans make a strong showing since both of the major Republican candidates have publicly expressed their support of him. He put out a call to Republican voters last week to be sure to vote for either of the Republicans – Congressman Ralph Abraham or Eddie Rispone – and announced over the weekend that he would be in the state this Friday, the day before the election, to rally voters. Mike Pence was in the state for a rally last Friday, and Donald Trump Jr. will be in the state today.

This type of push, when there are two Republican candidates and a Democrat going into a jungle primary means that Trump isn’t just interested in beating Edwards. He’s using the state’s Republican turnout as a gauge of support for him.

And, there may be signs that Republicans are more motivated in this election cycle. In 2015, Democrats had a major advantage in the early voting turnout. As of Friday, Republicans were almost neck and neck with them. Much of those numbers came in before Trump’s rallying cry, and Louisiana’s voters have several motivating factors to get them out of the polls. If Trump makes this election about him, however, that will affect Election Day voting, which could make or break Louisiana Republicans’ efforts to dethrone Edwards.

Trump sees this as a chance to use Louisiana as a bellwether. Our weird election calendar means that we have a gubernatorial election the year before the U.S. has a presidential election. Normally, being a deep-red state would make that fact meaningless. But being a deep-red state with a Democratic governor makes it a more interesting election cycle, because the Republican in power needs his base motivated if he has any hopes of staying in power. If they aren’t motivated now, how motivated will they be in sixth months or a year when the impeachment inquiry has been going on (assuming proceedings haven’t begun yet)?

On the one hand, there comes a point when the Democratic Party has cried “Wolf!” enough to make voters stop paying attention. On the other hand, constant negative coverage from a media that wants impeachment proceedings as badly as Democrats do will have an effect on the morale of voters. The Trump team wants to see which of those scenarios is taking hold in Louisiana by making the gubernatorial election about the president.

It’s a risky play, though, and could hurt the party. Edwards is polling dangerously close to not needing a runoff, and if enough Republicans in the state decide they don’t care about Trump, then they would simply stay home. That would be bad for Trump and Louisiana. On the other hand, if Trump does successfully motivate voters, he can point to this race as a sign to keep doing what he’s doing.

Polls will close at 8 p.m. (CT) in Louisiana, and not too long after that, we’ll see if Trump has something to worry about.

Kanye West Does it Again

Westlake Legal Group cross-671379_1280-620x465 Kanye West Does it Again Uncategorized Front Page Stories Featured Story

Kanye West is at it again, going directly against the grain of the cultural Left.

Over the weekend, the rapper was in Salt Lake City holding court at one of his Christian Sunday Services.

While speaking to the crowd, Kanye called voting for a candidate based on their skin color “mental slavery.”

Furthermore, he hailed Republicans’ place in the racial history of the U.S., referencing a member for which the party seems to rarely get credit — Abraham Lincoln:

“That’s the Republican Party that freed the slaves.”

As reported by The Washington Examiner, West touted everyone’s right to vote for whichever candidate seems best, without race being a factor.

“And we got the right, right? We got a right to our opinions, right? You black, so you can’t like Trump? I ain’t never made a decision only based on my color. That’s a form of slavery, mental slavery.”

Kanye’s on a bit of a roll where the GOP is concerned. As reported by The Daily Wire, during his appearance on David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction just a few months ago, the unpeggable music star went to bat for The Donald:

Speaking with David Letterman on his Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” in May of this year, West said that Trump supporters have the right to feel what they feel without being bullied by liberals.

“This is like my thing with Trump — we don’t have to feel the same way, but we have the right to feel what we feel,” West told Letterman.

In Utah, the controversial figure — who hasn’t tweeted in nearly ten months — encouraged people to stay off social media. It will, he claimed, put you under the thumb of those who want to control you.

That seems like good advice. So long as you don’t stay off RedState.

Kanye also offered gratitude — not to Trump or Republicans, but something much different:

No, Mitt Romney Would Not Have Won In 2016

Westlake Legal Group debate-number-21-e1350585992784 No, Mitt Romney Would Not Have Won In 2016 won republicans Politics Mitt Romney LOST Hillary Clinton Front Page Stories Front Page fight Featured Story Election donald trump democrats Barack Obama Bad Candidate Allow Media Exception 2016 2012

In the midst of the latest dust up between Donald Trump and Mitt Romney, the latter of which went after the president over the current Ukraine mess, a common theme has popped up in the Trump-skeptical Republican circles.

It goes something like this: The only reason Trump won is because he faced a bad candidate and the only reason Mitt Romney lost is because he faced an unbeatable juggernaut, thereby Mitt Romney is actually a better candidate compared to Trump. The purpose of this argument is to assert that we need to go back in that direction post-Trump.

You see this come up anytime someone criticizes Romney’s performance in 2012, which Trump did earlier over the weekend. I suppose it makes certain people feel better to assert that Romney was actually the superior candidate, thereby reinforcing their biases against Trump. To be frank though, this analysis is total crap and relies on several false assumptions.

First, to say Romney would beat Hillary because she was a “uniquely terrible candidate” means we must assume Romney was not a terrible candidate himself. I’d confidently posit that he was. Romney was every anti-Republican stereotype wrapped into a perfectly punch-able package. You could not have created a candidate in a lab that more perfectly alienated blue collar workers in the the rust belt than Mitt Romney. While a certain segment of Republican finds him extremely endearing, most people did not. They found him to be a contrived, flip-flopping politician with neither an ability to connect with the average voter, nor the politics to satisfy the metropolitan elite.

Secondly, the idea that Barack Obama was an unbeatable, flawless candidate is a complete rewriting of history. In reality, his approval ratings languished in the low 40s for much of the campaign until Romney became the set alternative (again testifying to the fact that Romney just wasn’t a very good candidate). Obama was mired in a bad economy and numerous foreign policy blunders. While it’s hard to remember now, there was actually a time in 2016 where a lot of prognosticators weren’t favoring the former president to be re-elected. Was Obama a better candidate than Hillary Clinton? Sure. But did he present some insurmountable challenge for an otherwise awesome candidate in Mitt Romney? Hardly, and it’s just excuse making for Romney’s failures to pretend otherwise.

Lastly,  we constantly hear that Romney won more popular votes in 2012 than Trump did in 2016. But so what? We don’t elect people via the popular vote, as I think we all know. The map Romney would have needed to win is far more important. Could he have won the rust belt? Let’s talk about it.

This analysis is extremely flawed.  Yes, Romney managed a handful more votes in WI than Trump. You know where he didn’t come close to besting Trump though? In Ohio, in Michigan, and in Pennsylvania.

For example, Trump won OH by 7 points and over 200,000 votes. He put up nearly 300,000 more votes there than Romney did, who lost the state by 3 points. In fact, Trump won more votes in 2016 in OH than Obama did in 2012. The same story plays out in Michigan, where Trump won more total votes than Romney and won the state, whereas Romney lost it by 10 points. But would Romney have somehow pulled CO and NV instead? Highly unlikely given how blue those states were turning before 2016 even happened. Perhaps he’d have made it closer, but closer doesn’t win elections.

Here’s the biggest false assumption though. Trump didn’t win 2016 simply because Hillary was a terrible candidate in a vacuum. He won because he relentlessly went after her, pulling her down to his level and ultimately overtaking her. In short, Trump is the one who made her a terrible candidate. Would Romney have done that? Would he have brought Juanita Broadrick to a debate or pushed the email scandal to its limits? Of course he wouldn’t have. He’d of told us how he’s friends with Hillary but that he just doesn’t think she’s right for the job. We’d have gotten the same milquetoast, low energy campaign he gave us in 2012 and it’d have led to his defeat.

The point is this. Enough pretending that Trump didn’t do something special in 2016. Enough downplaying his unique ability to connect with Democrat leaning blue collar workers. Stop acting like actually fighting back is irrelevant in politics. It’s time to start recognizing the political lessons Trump has exposed, even if you don’t like him personally.

So no, despite what some conservatives are saying, Mitt Romney would not have won in 2016 and he was not a superior candidate to Trump.

Be very very fearful.

President Donald Trump’s presidency is in real trouble now.

Hollywood actors have set their sights on trying to help him get impeached.

What do Hollywood actors have to do with an impeachment process? Well, absolutely nothing.

But, shhh, no one tell them. Hey, if House Democrats can’t even get it right and don’t know that a real impeachment inquiry starts with a formal vote by the full House, then how can we expect these folks to have any idea?

Their announcement has doubtless left President Trump literally shaking.

The effort is really something formed by the “Democratic Coalition,” an organization whose sole purpose seems to be to try to get Trump out of office. The goal of the task force? To hold Trump “accountable for his betrayal of America,” according to Townhall.

Of course they can’t explain what that “betrayal” is with any kind of cogent facts that actually qualify for an impeachable offense. But let not reality enter into all this.

The 100 or so celebrities behind the effort include well-known resisters to reality such as Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Arnold, Ron Perlman, Alyssa Milano, George Takei and Ron Perlman. There are other ‘celebrities’ involved too, apart from actors, including former Mayor Andrew Gillum and Martina Navratilova.

Their plan? To spread hashtags to promote impeachment information, “combat disinformation” and – wait for it – have people write letters to Congress and call. Are you impressed yet?

According to Newsweek, the group has already started meeting and they are set to launch their website this week and will begin fundraising. Ah, so there’s the rub. Just exactly how would giving any money to them actually manage to get Trump impeached? Well, of course, it wouldn’t. And it’s not exactly clear why you would need money to push hashtags.

Doubtless they would say it would help inform people.

Let’s be real. People pretty much know where they stand at this point on Trump. But even if anyone wasn’t clear, it’s really unlikely that the sage words of Alyssa Milano are going to sway them.

I like Joe Rogan.

Why? Two reasons:

  • He’s interested in ideas.
  • His show provides a constant reminder that people can get outside their bubble and spend civil time with those with whom they disagree.

Not long ago, I wouldn’t have heralded the critical nature of #2 — it’s a notion which should go without saying. But presently, there are a whole lot of people who appear to never have heard of it.

If you can take some unfiltered language, I highly recommend Joe’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. The actor/comedian/mixed martial artist/TV host/UFC commentator truly has an open mind, and he gives voice to liberals and conservatives alike.

His guests have run the gamut from Jay Leno to Neil deGrasse Tyson to Jesse Ventura to Mel Gibson to Steven Tyler to Ben Shapiro.

JRE is a reflection of a man with many interests, and one of them is government.

On the program, the cannabis advocate routinely makes clear he’s got a liberal streak or two.

But an area in which he ain’t no dainty snowflake is firearms.

Constantly, I’m stunned to see politicians and others make radical public statements about guns while appearing to have never spent even 2 minutes finding out what they are (here).

Well move over, novices — a recent video posted to Twitter indicates there’s one Hollywood hunk (literally) who knows how to handle his hand cannon.

Taran Tactical recently welcomed Rogan to their firing range.

And here he is, shootin’ em off in a way that’d make some of the world’s most woke fill their $200 jeans.

Do you watch the podcast? If so, what are some of your favorite episodes? A couple of mine are those featuring David Goggins and Jordan Peterson.

Oh — and if you’re not impressed by Joe’s gun handling, you may not wanna tell him; he can also do this:

City Of Fraser Had ‘Deficiencies’ In Its 2015 Audit Report. What Were They?

Westlake Legal Group burning-money-300x200 City Of Fraser Had ‘Deficiencies’ In Its 2015 Audit Report. What Were They? Richard Haberman Michigan Front Page Stories Fraser Doug Hagerty Barbara Jennigs Allow Media Exception 2019

Money To Burn In Fraser.

If you think that Washington D.C. has cornered the market on the ineptitude of government officials than you should take a closer look at where they learned these tactics. Most likely it was in your hometown and right under your nose.

Take for example my Lil hometown of Fraser, Michigan. A small town of 14,616 according to Data USA from 2017.

This town nestled warmly on the banks of the not so mighty Doobie Creek ( inside joke for the locals) and has in the past three years experienced political turmoil that would make cities like Detroit and Chicago blush.

I have covered some of these issues here and will continue to do so being I feel it is important to do so.

Here are some of the things I have touched on recently…

Preventing And Exposing Corruption Starts Locally. Welcome To Fraser, Michigan.

Something Smells Fishy In Fraser, Michigan.

In Fraser, Ignoring Sexual Harassment Claims At City Hall Means You Should Run For Office

The above articles give a glimpse into how backward and even corrupt a small town and its politics can be.

With the last two articles listed above, I have been going into detail about the election coming up in Nov 2019 and in particular the tenure of the former City Manager who now wants a seat on the council. Richard Haberman was removed as Fraser’s City Manager after close to six years at the helm of the city.

As I list in one of the stories above referencing Haberman’s time as C.M. along with his gal pal, Barbara Jennings, who was at the time a city councilperson herself and says she was propositioned by the Mayor at the time to extend Haberman’s contract for one year. All she had to do was vote for a contract for a company awarding the city’s towing services to the one that the Mayor wanted. She reported this to police according to press reports at the time being she was horrified that she was offered such a deal.

However, four years later she happily went to the former Mayor she accused of propositioning her for an illegal vote to get his signature to get her boyfriend on the ballot.

In the other story listed above, Haberman was also mentioned in a sexual harassment lawsuit where his employees came to him to report unacceptable behavior by two elected officials who were later removed by the council for those actions. Haberman instructed one of the ladies to “Get a Lawyer” according to one of the depositions.

The ladies did just that and the city has now settled that lawsuit for around $230,000.

Now, we shall take a look at what Richard Haberman lists on his campaign flyer as one of the reasons for his seeking office in a city he once led.

*Re-establish fiscal responsibility.

After Haberman left his job at the city at the beginning of Jan 2017, the city was facing some financial challenges that had to be tackled. In an article from Detroit News at the end of 2017 the situation was described like this…

Faced with a $14 million budget and about $12 million in revenues, the budget knives came out.

In a money-saving effort, the City Council approved cuts, including a layoff of eight of its police officers, by a 5-1 vote, after a proposed 3-mill increase was turned down by voters last month. The millage would have raised $1.1 million a year.

And more cuts are expected, according to Wayne O’Neal, the city’s manager.

“We’re a train wreck,” O’Neal said. “But these cuts were predicted some time ago by other city managers if something wasn’t done.

“There is not enough revenue to support city services as enjoyed by residents, but it took a new City Council to understand the gravity of the situation, and there really is no other choice. This is not something you can ‘budget’ out of to resolve.

“And it’s going to get worse. I expect this place will be broke in 18 months and run out of cash.”

Once again, back to Haberman’s flyer, he claims that his *Knowledge* left a balanced budget and more than a two million dollar fund balance and using creative services to not raise taxes and maintaining services.

So what happened then in those twelve months where everything was rosy to all of a sudden the wheels almost coming off from the city’s financial wagon.

Well, you have to look into Haberman’s final years as C.M. to get an idea.

I obtained an email responding to councilperson Patrice Schornack from the city finance director Tim Sadowski from October 2nd of this year. One of the things Patrice was wondering, was how were the financial audits under Haberman.

Here was Mr. Sadowski’s response.

From: Tim Sadowski [mailto:tims@micityoffraser.com]
Sent: Wednesday, October 2, 2019 10:04 AM
To: Patrice Schornak <patrices@micityoffraser.com> Subject: RE: Information needed please

Good morning Patrice,

First, Attached is the letter to the State of Michigan Local Government Finance Service Division acknowledging she brought in a “government accountant” for budgeting, bank reconciliations and to correct the deficiencies in the APR. The City spent $121,891.76 on Plante Moran assisting her from 2015-2017 (Attached) and $118,260.55 on The Woodhill Group assisting her from 2016-2017 (Attached) (this number does not include the interim finance director contract for The Woodhill Group from July 2017 through September 2017).

Second, the impact of the early retirements/buyouts and financial impacts to City including MERS/OPEB is a complicated formula including 1) the buyout amount, 2) if the positions were replaced and 3) the difference of the benefit each individual is receiving during their early retirement compared to their projected “regular” retirement date.

Timothy Sadowski

City Treasurer

City of Fraser

33000 Garfield Rd

Fraser, MI 48026

(586) 293-3100 ext 120 work

(586) 293-1045 fax

Attached to the email was a letter from Jan-11-2015 from the previous city finance director, Mary Jaganjac to the state of Michigan concerning some “deficiencies” listed on the audit process report. Mary indicates that they have hired an outside firm to help with this.

The letter is listed below.

Jan-11-2015 Letter Admitting City’s Deficiencies on the Auditing Procedures Report

Two firms were used during the time frame from 2015-2017

Plante Moran

Plante Moran – Professional Services from 2015-2017 – $121,891.76

The Woodhill Group

The Woodhill Group – Professional Services from 2016-2017 – $118,260.55

How bad were Fraser’s books that Richard Haberman had to hire two outside firms and pay them $240,152,31 to make sure the state was satisfied with its results?

What creative solutions were being used?

What measure of fiscal responsibility allows you to have to spend almost a QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS in addition to your finance director’s salary of 70K plus and allows you to say everything is good?

Also, what exactly were the deficiencies that the state was alerted to that needed to be corrected?

These are serious questions that need to be asked. The voters deserve to know what these answers are.

The candidate who once was the head of this city during this time needs to answer them to see if he is competent enough to serve as a dependable elected official for the next four years.

More to come…….

Former Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos appeared on Maria Bartiromo’s “Sunday Morning Futures” show this morning to discuss Attorney General William Barr’s and U.S. Attorney John Durham’s trip to Italy a couple of weeks ago. While in Rome, the two met with multiple Italian intelligence officials and while no one knows what took place in those meetings, reports say that their primary focus was the role of Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud.

Papadopoulos believes it might be something big. Shortly after the Barr/Durham trip, the former Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi (who is said to be a friend of former President Obama), called Papadopoulos. Renzi, he said, went on a rant and threatened to sue him. He did not elaborate on what exactly Renzi said to him, but clearly Barr and Durham’s visit had him a little ruffled.

Several key events from the “Russian collusion” story took place in Rome. The Link University campus in the city provided the backdrop for many of those events. The faculty of Link University is closely connected to the British intelligence community. Moreover, the FBI held a training program at Link in the fall of 2016, an interesting fact which the Mueller report conveniently omitted.

Maria’s team put together a timeline of the campaign to entrap Papadopoulos:

February 2016: London Centre of International Law Practice contacts Papadopoulos on LinkedIn, starts working there.

March 2016: Invited by Arvinder Sambei to network in Rome, Introduced to Joseph Mifsud by former Italian Foreign Minister Vincenzo Scotti.

April 20, 2016: Israeli official makes introduction to Australian Intelligence official, Erika Thompson.

April 26, 2016: Mifsud claims Russia has Hillary Clinton emails.

May 2, 2016: Contacted by former UK Foreign Minister, Tobias Elwood, to learn about Trump.

May 5, 2016: Two U.S. Intel personnel, Terrence Dudley and Greg Baker, reach out about Trump.

Papadopoulos tells Bartiromo that “within 48 hours of joining the Trump campaign, I’m being invited to go to Rome at the behest of a woman named Arvinder Sambei who I used to work for in London, who I later found out had a working relationship with Bob Mueller after 9/11. So, that’s very suspicious and I’m invited to go to Rome to this University where I’m introduced to Joseph Mifsud by none other than the former Italian Foreign Minister.”

He also said that subsequent reports say that Sambei is also a close associate of DOJ official Bruce Ohr. We know that Ohr acted as a backchannel between dossier author Christopher Steele and top FBI officials. So, it appears that, within the top ranks of the international intelligence community, there are many interconnections. They all seem to know each other.

Bartiromo tells him, “I find it really interesting that just this week we learned new information that the former Prime Minister of Italy is threatening to sue you. This is ex-Italian Prime Minister Renzi threatening to sue you George Papadopoulos. What do you think this is all about George?”

Papadopoulos replies:

Well I think obviously that somebody’s connecting dots and those dots lead directly to Rome. Rome might actually be the epicenter of this entire conspiracy, even more so than London which I initially thought. Look, Attorney General Barr was recently in Italy along with John Durham. They were obviously looking into Joseph Mifsud’s extensive connections to both the Italian government (documented) and Italian Intelligence services. They’re probably looking into this University Link Campus and Vincenzo Scotti and who was the Prime Minister when all of this was going on. Matteo Renzi…and now, all of the sudden, he had some sort of meltdown a couple of days ago, he’s threatening to sue me and he went on a rant about the President, so clearly he’s feeling the heat.

Bartiromo adds, “And it feels like the CIA is also among the agencies that will be questioned as a result of gathering all of these people together which really makes it look like this incredible network of diplomats across the world working with the CIA or the FBI. We’ll see. We’re getting the IG report in the next two weeks.

Is it possible that we now have Italian collusion?

Lindsey Graham Says Whistleblowers Will Have No Anonymity and Adam Schiff Will Be a Witness in Any Impeachment Trial

I’m not really sure how this slipped by me, but a couple of days ago the White House informed Nancy Pelosi that they had no intention at all of complying with any subpoenas issued by any House committee unless and until the the House voted on an impeachment inquiry.

The letter probably didn’t look like this, but it could’ve

Pelosi is claiming that it is an impeachment inquiry just because they are calling it so, I don’t think that will fly if challenged in court because absent an impeachment inquiry the document demands being made are a clear violation of the Constitution and to say that any House demand can be construed as an impeachment inquiry means separation of powers has just ceased to exist.

Anyway, Lindsey Graham was on Fox yesterday to discuss this.

Watch the latest video at foxnews.com

1. He agrees that without a floor vote on impeachment he’s not going to treat it as impeachment.
2. Wants Fox “or somebody” to put all Republicans on the record as to whether they think the phone call to Ukraine President Zelensky is impeachable. Graham says it’s “ridiculous.”
3. The Biden’s need to be investigated over Ukraine and China payoffs.
4. He compared this brouhaha with the trickle of complaints against Kavanaugh. “This is Kavanaugh all over again.”
5. Schiff is a witness in any impeachment proceeding because of his early contact with the “whistleblower.”

And this:

Well, here is what’s going to happen.

If the whistle-blower’s allegations are turned into an impeachment article, it’s imperative that the whistle-blower be interviewed in public, under oath and cross-examined. Nobody in America goes to jail or has anything done to them without confronting their accuser.

So here is what I’m going to insist upon, that the whistle-blower, one or two, whatever, they come forward, under oath, testify, so the public can judge their credibility.

If that doesn’t happen in the House, I will make sure it happens in the Senate.

What this means is that the Senate is not going to share documents, etc., with the House absent a vote. It means Adam Schiff’s actions will be scrutinized by the Senate in the case of impeachment. It means that none of the whistleblowers will be able to remain anonymous.

On the whole, I think the stake have been raised substantially for Pelosi. Let’s see what happens next.

Mitch McConnell: Impeachment is the Ravings of a ‘Left-Wing Mob’

As Maxine Waters christens congressional Republicans “spineless” (here), Mitch McConnell’s calling it quite differently.

The Republican Kentucky senator posted an ad to Facebook Thursday, denouncing the “left-wing mob” and their torches lighting the way to — in the words of Maxine — “Impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment”:

“Nancy Pelosi’s in the clutches of a left-wing mob. They finally convinced her to impeach the President.”

Mitch also championed hope. In the form of himself:

“All of you know your Constitution. The way that impeachment stops is a Senate majority with me as majority leader.”

The congressman noted to CNBC Monday that if the House decides to pull the trigger on impeachment, the Senate has no choice but to follow suit:

“[U]nder the Senate rules we are required to take it up, if the House goes down that path and we will follow the Senate rules.”

Mitch told his social media audience, “Your conservative Senate Majority is the ONLY thing stopping Nancy Pelosi from impeaching President Trump. Donate & help us keep it!”

That majority, of course, will be under threat in 2020. But so will the Dems’ control of the House.

If those across the aisle go forward with a Trump trial, in the Executive branch, their goose is cooked — Biden will be in tatters, and kitten Elizabeth will be mauled by Donald the Lion. Hillary could slide in, but outside of that, no one’s looking to have even a remote shot to reach the Oval Office courtesy of the DNC.

What then, of the legislature? Will impeachment damage the Democrat stronghold in the House?

Either way, conservative voters won’t want to take a chance. Mitch is right: the Senate is key to stopping the “mob.” Not just now, but going forward past the next election.

Impeachment could be a mere bluff, but the Democrats have really shot themselves in the foot. If they turn back now, they’ll lose face. If they keep going, they’ll lose the election.

I suppose the presidency’s out of their reach either way. But on the other side of a failed impeachment, will they keep the House?

I want to hear from you. Let us all know how you see it going down.

Chuck Todd Melts Down When GOP Sen. Brings Up John Brennan and Democratic Meddling During 2016 Election

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) appeared on “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd to talk about comments a U.S. diplomat made in relation to the Ukraine phone call made by President Donald Trump.

But when Johnson began to reference John Brennan and leaks from the CIA that hurt Trump as well as the allegations that Democrats solicited Ukrainian help in 2016 in order to undermine the Trump campaign, Todd had a melt down and refused to let him continue.

From Daily Caller:

“You ought to ask Director Brennan: What did Peter Strzok mean when he texted Lisa Page on Dec. 15, 2016?” Johnson began, referring to two of the former FBI officials who worked on the Trump-Russia probe.

Todd said: “Senator, what does this have to do with Ukraine?”

Johnson read from a text message that Strzok sent Page in which he speculated that the CIA was behind leaks for political reasons.

“Think our sisters have begun leaking like mad. Scorned and worried and political, they’re kicking in to overdrive,” Strzok wrote Page on Dec. 15, 2016.

Johnson then tried to bring up the alleged Democratic solicitation of info from Ukraine to undermine the Trump campaign. He referenced a Politico article that detailed the solicitation and the allegation that it worked, Paul Manafort was fired and that undermined the campaign.

Todd flipped out and called that “Fox News conspiracy propaganda,” completely ignoring that it was from Politico and that a Ukrainian court has found there was meddling. Some “conspiracy.” Yet he had no problem with spending time on what was actually a false hoax, Russia collusion.

Johnson replied that Todd’s reaction and refusal to listen is one of the reasons that people have a problem with media, because they don’t want to look at issues that can hurt the Democrats.

Instead of actually allowing Johnson to make his point, Todd said Johnson was only about trying to make Trump feel better by not being critical of him.

“Senator Johnson, please,” Todd said at one point during the contentious interview. “Can we please answer the question that I asked you instead of trying to make [President] Donald Trump feel better here that you’re not criticizing him?”

As the Daily Caller notes, Todd has a long history of turning a blind eye to many of the allegations of wrongdoing by the CIA, FBI or Democrats during the 2016 election.

U.S. Attorney John Durham is looking into what the Democrats did in terms of Ukraine and John Brennan has said that he is going to be interviewed by Durham about the origins of the Russia probe.
