Biden Is Coming for Your Guns Too

If you thought it was only Beto O’Rourke among the 2020 candidates who wanted to come for your guns, you’d be wrong.

Joe Biden, one of the frontrunners, made it very clear he’s coming for your guns too. He just couches his language a little more than does Beto to make it appear more palatable.

Biden’s proposal, which he announced at a gun safety forum in Nevada on Wednesday, is calling for a ban on “assault-style weapons” (whatever that means to Democrats this week).

But for the weapons that people already have, he’s proposing a voluntary “buyback” (how can it be a buyback when you didn’t buy it from the government?) or registering the guns with the government, a glaring obvious constitutional issue by which he doesn’t seem bothered.

Americans who keep their guns would be required to register them and they would have to go through the same requirements that people go through now to comply with the National Firearms Act.

From Fox News:

The Biden campaign, in announcing the plan, said “the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes.”

The former vice president’s plan also calls for banning high capacity magazines as well as assault-style weapons, closing loopholes in background checks before firearms purchases, banning the online sale of guns, eliminating legal protections that currently protect gun manufacturers from being held legally liable if their weapons are used in mass shootings and allowing states to implement “red flag” laws.

The problem is that this would basically criminalize regular rifles like the AR-15, the most popular, but also the most wrongly demonized rifle in the country. People like Biden and other Democrats vilify it calling it a “weapon of war” despite it not being a military weapon. They paint it as an evil machine gun rather than the truth – a rifle that fires one bullet per trigger pull. One of the reasons it’s popular and has sometimes been used in mass shootings is because it’s light and easily maneuverable. It’s the same thing that makes them good rifles for hunting, sport and self-defense.

If you really want to diminish gun deaths, you would go after the criminals using them in places like Chicago and Baltimore. There, you can predict that every weekend people will be shot with a majority of the cases related to drugs and/or gangs. Address that, and you will have addressed something.

While Biden’s plan would pull weapons from the law-abiding it would do precious little to address the criminals using guns.

As NRO notes, registration is a non-starter:

But we know registration is a failed policy, one that’s routinely met with massive public indifference. It’s estimated that as many as 1 million New Yorkers have defied the Empire State’s assault-weapon-registration law, and as many as 85 percent of Connecticut assault-weapon owners have flouted the Nutmeg State’s registration requirement. A California registration requirement has had compliance rates as low as 3.6 percent. If states are the laboratories of democracy, then registration is a lab experiment that’s failed.

But more importantly, the assault weapons ban which Biden touts as “his” accomplishment in 1994 in reality failed to make any measurable difference in gun deaths.

From Investors Business Daily:

The main reason the failure of the ban to make a difference: “assault weapons” account for a tiny share of gun crimes — less than 6%. Even among mass shootings, most didn’t involve an “assault weapon” in the decade before the ban went into effect.

Mass shootings didn’t stop during the ban, either — there were 16 while the ban was in effect, which resulted in 237 deaths or injuries. In fact, it was while the ban was in effect that the Columbine High School massacre happened, in which 13 students were killed and 24 injured.

But Biden’s plan is a reminder of this classic:

We Live in the Most Important Times for Conservatism

Westlake Legal Group Antifa-620x349 We Live in the Most Important Times for Conservatism Uncategorized Front Page Stories On Tuesday, President Trump took to Twitter to accuse the Democrat’s impeachment efforts as a “coup.”  Truer words could not have been spoken.  Even before this latest Twitter barrage of truth, some people like Kamala Harris have been urging Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to remove the rightfully elected President of the United States from the platform altogether.  THAT is what the Democrats are all about- silencing the truth.

One does not know exactly what the “high crimes and misdemeanors” are that Trump committed that would lead to his removal from office.  Supposedly it is about a June 25th telephone call between the Ukrainian president and Trump involving an investigation into Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election and the possible role played by then-vice president Joe Biden.  Yet three Democrat Senators had written a letter to the Ukrainian government requesting that they comply with an investigation into Trump by Robert Mueller.  Suddenly, the leader of one country requesting an investigation on the part of another country is a “high crime and misdemeanor.”

This President has endured more hatred and vitriolic rhetoric than any president in my days on this earth.  Within hours of the election, the hatred began with marches, vigils, and over-the-top rhetoric.  We were treated to almost daily marches in the streets of Washington before Trump was inaugurated, before he signed any Executive Orders, initiated any policy, made a judicial nomination or put ketchup on a presidential steak.

We on the Right could kind of suspect this would be the reaction, but we underestimated how low they would go.  With Kavanaugh, they trotted out a woman from the man’s high school days to make scurrilous accusations that could not be proven and, quite frankly, sounded like a bad teenage novel.  They twisted and contorted and took words out of context when someone was killed in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Every mass shooting in the United States has been left at the feet of Trump.  A joint news conference with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland was supposedly a selling-out of America despite the fact Trump has probably been light-years ahead with tough sanctions against Russia and dealing with their aggression in Ukraine.  With ISIS largely decimated, does the Trump administration get any credit?  Every action is challenged in a Leftist-leaning court tying the hands of the administration since the wheels of justice move slowly.  It is all by design.

Yet, look at the accomplishments of the administration despite the obstruction by Democrats in Congress.  Even things both sides can mutually agree upon, besides the naming of a post office, are often shrouded in acrimony and unrealistic demands.  Just in the area of regulation, the accomplishments are very real and tangible.  Of course, there have been setbacks with the largest being Obamacare.  But in that case, this writer believes the hearts of the Republicans (or some of them) in Congress were just not in that fight.  Both sides agree on the inherent need for immigration reform, yet every effort has been torpedoed not by Trump, but from unrealistic demands from the Democrats.  To prove how low they have gone, they trotted out pictures of detainment centers from the Obama administration and attributed them to Trump.

Robert Mueller could not deliver the goods, so now it is a phone call between two world leaders where there is, according to the official transcript of that call, absolutely no evidence of a quid pro quo with respect to a common request between two countries.

As stated, we can expect these actions from the Left, but what is most perturbing is those self-righteous virtue-signalers on the Right who have jumped on the OrangeManBad bandwagon.  These so-called conservatives finally have a President who is willing to stand up to the Left, to go on the attack and, most importantly, try to enact a genuinely conservative agenda, but what have they done?  They have jumped ship and sided with the Democrats over some bizarre set of “principles.”  I have said this before: what good are principles without action?  Answer: thoughts in a mind and words on paper.  It appears that the only principle of these people (roughly characterized as NeverTrumpers) was talking, cower, then play the martyr.  They are the “Well, we tried, folks, so just keep reading my article in the Washington Post” crowd.

In short, they are losers and they wallow in their defeat.

BUT, this latest effort by the Democrats to impeach Trump is realistically likely to end in a humiliating defeat.  There will be too many Democrats who hail from districts or states that Trump won in 2016 and where his approval ratings are still high.  Should it reach that point, their votes on impeachment will determine whether they return to Congress in 2021 or not.  The same can be said for those Republicans who will tell you they are keeping an open mind and let’s just see where the evidence leads.  “Keeping an open mind” with regards to a Trump impeachment inquiry is the same as surrender.  To paraphrase, “There is no there, there.”

Instead, the intent is obvious.  It is to keep their supposed controversy front-and-center through a presidential campaign in 2020.

This presents a unique opportunity for real conservatives.  This is where we separate the men from the wimpish boys and relegate the Vichy Republicans and the so-called moderate Democrats (said jokingly) to the dustbin of history.

The United States Congress does not need to impeach President Donald Trump.  The American voters need to impeach Congress in 2020 by tossing out Democrats and their Republican allies in both houses of Congress.  Despite anyone’s reservations about Trump’s conservative credentials before the election of 2016, he has proven himself to be more conservative in action and words than the self-anointed guardians of conservatism.

Trump’s Tweet states:

As I learn more and more each day, I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP, intended to take away the Power of the People, their VOTE, their Freedoms, their Second Amendment, Religion, Military, Border Wall, and their God-given rights as a Citizen of The United States of America!

Truer words were never spoken.  That is what is at stake in 2020.  If you want to persist with the principles, but no action, then, by all means, sit it out or vote for the Democrat.  But do not call yourself “conservative.”

A Revolutionary Fashion Brand Wants You to Save the Planet by Not Changing Your Underwear for Weeks

Is your B.O. stiffer than Al Gore?

Is the stench in your pants an Inconvenient Truth?

Does anyone near your corroded crotch doze into the Deep Sleep like a canary in a mine?

If so, thank you — I assume you’re saving the world.

In case some of you weren’t aware, not showering for a month is a legitimate way to fight climate change.

But a Scandinavian startup’s got great news: They’ve found a way to temper your B.O.dacious bod while still rescuing humanity.

Four Finnish inventors have developed underwear knitted with silver to kill 99.9 percent of all bacteria-causing odor.

And not only that, but the “seamless knitting technique” used in stitching the drawers together actually makes for a more comfortable wear — which you’ll need, since you won’t be changing.

Taking off clothes, washing them, drying…who needs it?

Not CEO Mads Fibiger, and not Mother Earth.

Mads explains:

“Our business is sustainable fashion. The traditional way of buying, wearing, washing, and throwing away overpriced underwear is a terrible waste of resources. And it is extremely harmful to the environment.”

As reported by Business Insider:

Washing and drying account for two-thirds of the total impact on the environment, and that is why Organic Basics got started on their underwear. … [Silver] is antimicrobial which is why NASA uses silver to purify water for astronauts.

You’ll also be glad to know that the fabric rubbing against your most personal portions was created from industrial waste:

“We use mechanically recycled nylon which is extremely sustainable as a textile choice. The nylon’s raw material is made from mechanically recycled nylon developed in Italy from post-industrial waste fiber, yarn from spinning factories, and waste from weaving mills. And we use a seamless knitting technology making the garment comfortable to wear even for longer periods of time.”

How long exactly? The company says you can sport the same pair of underwear “for weeks.”

Mads laments that “the fashion industry is a dirty bastard” which hasn’t done its part for the environment.

So do yours: Put on a pair of underwear, and just keep going. And going. And a dirty bastard is the opposite of what you’ll be.

So what’s the cost of saving the planet one taint at a time? A 2-pack of SilverTech Boxers goes for $64, and a pair of Thongs — mmmMMM — will run you 56 bucks.

They’ll also run people off.

But maybe not: Organic Basics has already sold more than 200,000 undergarments to approximately 50,000 people.

That, my friends, is the sweet smell of success.

Those little stinkers.

Pelosi Quotes Scripture While Continuing To Advocate For The Mass Murder Of Innocent Children

Today, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi held a news conference. It was a wide ranging propaganda effort aimed at supporting her party’s ongoing refusal to acknowledge their electoral defeat in 2016. Initially, Pelosi focused on legislative efforts, under the guise of “helping the American people.” Once she blew through a few phrases on infrastructure needs and prescription drugs (obviously designed to appear as though the Democrat caucus is interested in other things besides “impeachment,”) she then segued to the real point of her tirade. This of course, was the Democrat Party’s continuing effort to overturn the results of a Presidential election, cleverly misnamed, “Congress’s Constitutional Duty.”

Her comments (along with those of her henchman, Adam Schiff) regarding Presidential actions during a phone call with the President of Ukraine, were false on their face. But that’s not the major issue here; we expect Democrats to boldly lie to get their way. My beef with today’s latest Democrat shot at the President, is that it is one of the most abject case of depraved, immoral hypocrisy I’ve ever seen.

As Speaker Pelosi segued into her impeachment pitch, she tried to establish a moral foundation for it by quoting our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ saying, “For what profits a man if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul.” She followed that up throughout her opening comments and answers to reporter questions with, “We will consider this prayerfully,” or words to that effect—at least 7 times by my count. How dare she. How. Dare. She.

Speaker Pelosi, who constantly claims to be for the common man, has constantly and consistently advocated for the murder of innocent children in the womb. Lately that support has extended to the murder of children who manage to survive the abortion process and now lay gasping for breath on a cold, stainless steel butcher’s table. And now she quotes scripture and claims that she is considering her actions prayerfully?!

I don’t have the ability to come up with the prose that adequately describes the evil that this prayerfully, professed Catholic woman represents, so with apologies to Winston Churchill…

This wicked woman, Pelosi the repository and embodiment of many forms of soul-destroying hatred. This monstrous product of former wrongs and shame.

I can only hope that the current titular Vicar of Christ on Earth, Pope Francis, can tear his attention away from the non-existent problem of climate change and instead, focus his energy on the 56 MILLION babies butchered Worldwide each year, 630,000 in the United States—their murders actively supported by Nancy Pelosi. Perhaps the Pope should excommunicate her—just as a good start.

#TimesUp: Opera Legend Placido Domingo Resigns From L.A. Opera Over Harassment Allegations

Sixty year opera veteran and legend Placido Domingo has resigned from his position as general director of the Los Angles Opera and has cancelled performance for the foreseeable future over heavy allegations of sexual misconduct.

“Recent accusations that have been made against me in the press have created an atmosphere in which my ability to serve this company that I so love has been compromised,” he wrote in a statement provided to The Times. “While I will continue to work to clear my name, I have decided that it is in the best interests of L.A. Opera for me to resign as its general director and withdraw from my future scheduled performances at this time.

“I do so with a heavy heart and at the same time wish to convey to the company’s dedicated board and hard-working staff my deepest wishes that the L.A. Opera continue to grow and excel.”

An anonymous female source from inside the Los Angeles Opera community responded to our request for comment, saying she and others feel some relief and believe it is warranted.

Domingo’s resignation as LA Opera General Director is a watershed moment in opera. I hope it is the end of a long era of female singers being forced to live in fear of either harassment or retaliation. The #MeToo movement can sometimes be too quick to cancel powerful men, but in Domingo’s case the sheer number of victims and the level at which their stories were corroborated warranted his dismissal from both the Met and LA Opera.

Domingo – who boasts more than 4,000 heralded performances – has been under intense scrutiny since one woman came forward over the summer to say she had been repeatedly harassed by the star during the time she worked with him. Eight more women followed suit, claiming Domingo had acted not just inappropriately towards them but also aggressively.

One accuser said Domingo stuck his hand down her skirt and three others said he forced wet kisses on their lips — in a dressing room, a hotel room and at a lunch meeting.

“A business lunch is not strange,” said one of the singers. “Somebody trying to hold your hand during a business lunch is strange — or putting their hand on your knee is a little strange. He was always touching you in some way, and always kissing you.”

In addition to the nine accusers, a half-dozen other women told the AP that suggestive overtures by Domingo made them uncomfortable, including one singer who said he repeatedly asked her out on dates after hiring her to sing a series of concerts with him in the 1990s.

A half dozen more women have since spoken up, confirming Domingo’s propensity to abuse his status and his causal sense of assurance that he would never be held accountable.

In the wake of the accusations the opera community began their own campaign to out sexual harassment within the industry…an industry long been rumored to be wrought with the type of sexual harassment many think is only confined to the “Weinsteins” of Hollywood. The hashtags #opera9 and #timesup have become clarion calls to opera industry insiders who have known the reality of their business for a long time, but not had the power to speak about it publicly.

When one accuser revealed the legendary entertainer had shoved his hands down her top and grabbed her breasts as she sat in a makeup chair, the Domingo camp initially responded with the assertion his advances were “welcomed”.

Wilson told the AP that she, then 28, and Domingo were having their makeup done together when he rose from his chair, stood behind her, slipped his hands into her robe and under her bra straps, and grabbed her bare breast.

“It hurt,” she told the AP. “It was not gentle. He groped me hard.” She said Domingo then turned and walked away, leaving her stunned and humiliated.

Wilson said she was spurred to come forward after Domingo responded to the first AP articleby saying he believed his actions “were always welcomed and consensual” and added: “The rules and standards by which we are — and should be — measured against today are very different than they were in the past.”

Wilson rejected the idea that such behavior has ever been acceptable.

“What woman would ever want him to grab their breast? And it hurt,” she told AP. “Then I had to go onstage and act like I was in love with him.”

Domingo has already declared he will never again perform in New York City after allegations prompted him to pull out of an annual performance. With his Los Angeles position now defunct, the opera legend may not be returning to the United States for a very long time. At 78-years-old, perhaps never.

After Sen. Kamala Harris acted stupidly this week with her formal letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey demanding President Trump be suspended from the social media platform, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard was asked about the move. The Hawaii Congresswoman pushed back with a strong answer about how trying to silence people over political disagreements is wrong.

The Hill reports:

When Gabbard was asked by a reporter her thoughts on Harris’s attempts to have Trump removed from Twitter, the Hawaii representative said she did not agree with the idea.

She added that “freedom of speech is something that is an important, foundational, right in our democracy.”

“We can’t just cancel or shut down or silence those who we disagree with or who hold different views or who say things that even that we strongly disagree with or abhor,” she told NBC.

Watch Gabbard speak on this issue below:

Harris campaign spokesman Ian Sams responded to Gabbard’s remarks by stating that Gabbard got her talking points from Fox News:

It was a ridiculous answer considering this issue is not about Fox News but whether or not “cancel culture” should apply to your political opponents simply because you disagree with them, as NRSC senior adviser Matt Whitlock pointed out in a tweet blasting Sams:

That said, we shouldn’t be too surprised by Sams’ nonsensical response considering the sad state the Harris campaign has been in for quite some time now.

Sams’ tweet came several hours after Gabbard’s spokesman Cullen Tiernan took a jab at the Harris campaign over reports it is being restructured in an attempt to become competitive again:

The debate that is scheduled to take place in two weeks will be on one night only, meaning all candidates will be on the same stage. Gabbard famously torched Harris in the 2nd debate in July. I’m looking forward to Round 2 between these two.

And to be honest, I’m kinda sorta hoping for a similar outcome.

CNN Brings On Andrew McCabe to Analyze the Case Against Andrew McCabe

CNN simply has no shame left. That’s all I can figure at this point.

Andrew McCabe is currently under criminal investigation and it’s all but been confirmed that he will face prosecution in the near future. Despite all that, CNN continues to use him as an unbiased “analyst” commenting on the FBI. That’d be the same FBI he lied to multiple times, leading to his firing. You can’t make this stuff up.

But just when you thought it couldn’t get dumber, Brooke Baldwin brought McCabe on to trash “conspiracy theories” that include his actions, even though we know he did what he did and that it’s not a conspiracy theory. There just might be a conflict of interest there. I don’t know, just thinking out loud.

This is CNN (via The Federalist).

Baldwin asked McCabe why Attorney General William Barr is meeting with foreign counterparts to find out more about the hoax that duped the U.S. government into spending two years and millions of dollars unsuccessfully searching for Russian collusion with the Trump campaign to steal the 2016 election.

Well, if the guy who lied to the FBI multiple times testified to something, it must be true, right? And if you right a book, then that’s like double-super truth telling.
In regards to his assertion, it’s actually very much still a mystery because we do not know if there was even probable cause to do half the things they did in opening and conducting the investigation. What evidence were they using to take the unprecedented step of investigating the campaign of a current candidate for President? The most obvious answer is the garbage Steele dossier, but even if you buy the spin about Papadopoulos, questions remain there as well. Why was he invited to Italy? Why was he approached by several different assets working with the FBI? Was it a setup? There’s plenty there for Barr left to mine and McCabe clearly wants him to stop.

While being paid to talk on-air as a contracted CNN contributor, McCabe questioned the validity of an investigation into his and James Comey’ misconduct. McCabe is being investigated for repeatedly lying to the FBI’s inspector general about his decisions while at the FBI. Comey has been criticized by the Justice Department watchdog for violating FBI rules. Both are implicated in applications to a secret court to spy on the Trump campaign.

Think about this. CNN is paying a proven liar, who was fired from the FBI, to comment not just on the FBI, but the case against him. This is done not as an interviewee, but as a paid analyst.

Worse, Baldwin offers zero pushback on anything he says. She just sits there and nods along, as if there are no questions surrounding McCabe’s personal conduct. Then she points him to commenting on Barr looking into “Trump conspiracies,” even though McCabe has been shown to be at the center of many of the questionable actions at the FBI during his tenure and that much fo what they call “conspiracies” have been shown to have some basis in truth. At one point, it was a “conspiracy” to suggest the FBI had run assets against the Trump campaign. Now, they’ve admitted it. Same for the usage of the Steele dossier in the FISA warrants against Carter Page.

I think we’ve reached the point where literally anyone can be rehabilitated and handed a CNN gig as long as they parrot orange man bad enough. It’s both hilarious and sad.

Rudy Giuliani Ups the Ante: Trump May Sue House Democrats, and There’s Evidence Obama Colluded with Ukraine

Whoa — in two tweets Wednesday, the President’s personal attorney indicated he’s considering suing House Democrats over their investigation into Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky:

“We are carefully considering our legal options to seek redress against Congress and individual members. For engaging in an organized effort that exceeded their limited powers, under the Constitution, and …for trampling on the constitutional rights of citizens by engaging in several illicit plans, carried out by illegal means, to remove the President of the US, on knowingly falsified charges allegations.”

Giuliani — who’s been subpoenaed by Congress in the probe — also broached the subject on Fox program The Ingraham Angle Tuesday. He explained to host Laura that a constitutional lawyer and civil rights attorney suggested he “bring a lawsuit on behalf of the President and several of the people in the administration.”

Plus:

“Maybe even myself as a lawyer against the members of Congress, individually for violating constitutional rights, violating civil rights. They’re doing extraordinary things.”

The former mayor of New York claimed Democrats are impeding his ability to work with leaders of other nations.

Rudy called the Dem frenzy “worse than McCarthy.”

But wait — there’s more.

On Monday night with Sean Hannity, Giuliana said there’s significant evidence the Obama White House ordered Democrats to go in cahoots with Ukraine in order to get dirt on then-candidate Trump:

“The reason why the President of the United States had an obligation to ask the president of Ukraine to follow up on these allegations because there is substantial — I don’t want to exaggerate it but pretty close to overwhelming evidence, including a finding by a Ukrainian court that Hillary Clinton and the Democrats cooperated with Ukrainians with the order coming directly from the White Hous …to dig up dirt on her political opponent, and they did.”

So it’s a Ukrainian extravaganza.

One person who surely isn’t enjoying the festivities: Joe Biden. The Dems’ obsession is cookin’ his goose.

Onward, therefore, Elizabeth Warren, to a 2020 stage upon which you’ll be crushed by a guy who takes no prisoners during debate.

And, despite the opposition party’s greatest dreams, that’s what’s going to happen — he’s gonna be taking no prisoners, not being a prisoner.

Once again, their focus on trying to defeat Trump rather than win an election with superior policies and a superior candidate will be their undoing.

And the beat goes on…and they’re gonna get beat.

There have been a lot of mysteries surrounding the complaint filed by the so-called whistleblower in the matter of President Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s president. I say “so-called” because the whistleblower did nothing more or less than leak hearsay about a conversation with the intent of either damaging President Trump or creating a pretext for an impeachment vote. The matter was not an intelligence concern, it was a policy difference, and it wasn’t in any way urgent and should not have been reported to Congress. The flimsy justification used by the IC IG, Michael Atkinson, was totally demolished by the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel.

They mysteries include the IC IG bending over backwards to let Schiff know that he had something he wanted to report but was not being allowed to report. There is the matter of the structure of the complaint looking like it was crafted with substantial legal assistance. And you have the statements by Schiff and Pelosi indicating that they knew of the whistleblower complaint well in advance of it ever being officially reported.

A lot of pieces quickly fell together today when the New York Times ran this story today: Schiff, House Intel Chairman, Got Early Account of Whistle-Blower’s Accusations

The Democratic head of the House Intelligence Committee, Representative Adam B. Schiff of California, learned about the outlines of a C.I.A. officer’s concerns that President Trump had abused his power days before the officer filed a whistle-blower complaint, according to a spokesman and current and former American officials.

And by days, we can probably say that he means more than two weeks judging from when Atkinson squirted in his drawers in his effort to inform Schiff of the complaint.

Before going to Congress, the C.I.A. officer had a colleague convey his accusations to the agency’s top lawyer. Concerned about how that avenue for airing his allegations was unfolding, the officer then approached a House Intelligence Committee aide, alerting him to the accusation against Mr. Trump. In both cases, the original accusation was vague.

The House staff member, following the committee’s procedures, suggested the officer find a lawyer to advise him and file a whistle-blower complaint. The aide shared some of what the officer conveyed to Mr. Schiff. The aide did not share the whistle-blower’s identity with Mr. Schiff, an official said.

“Like other whistle-blowers have done before and since under Republican and Democratic-controlled committees, the whistle-blower contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community,” said Patrick Boland, a spokesman for Mr. Schiff.

Even with this minor admission, Schiff is still holding the line:

Mr. Schiff never saw any part of the complaint or knew precisely what the whistle-blower would deliver, Mr. Boland said.

“At no point did the committee review or receive the complaint in advance,” he said. He said the committee received the complaint the night before releasing it publicly last week and noted that came three weeks after the administration was legally mandated to turn it over to Congress. The director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, acting on the advice of his top lawyer and the Justice Department, had blocked the inspector general for the intelligence community, Michael Atkinson, from turning over the complaint sooner.

This is a masterpiece of the non-denial denial. He’s denying one small part of the picture in order to blow smoke. All he’s saying is that he didn’t see an advance copy of the complaint. He’s not saying that the whistleblower didn’t tell him in great detail about the future complaint, he just didn’t see the actual written complaint. Similarly, he’s not saying some committee staff didn’t work with the whistleblower, he’s just saying the “committee” didn’t.

Based on what we seem to know now, it looks like the whistleblower approached the Democrats working for Schiff with the complaint. According to the narrative this was after he had approached the IC general counsel and didn’t like the answer he was getting about his whistleblower status (my guess is that the general counsel read the same regulations and laws as did Department of Justice and decided this was just a vindictive f*** trying to hurt President Trump while firmly grasping a get-out-of-jail free card as a whistleblower). Some Democrat staffers interviewed him and gave him advice and helped him write his complaint. Along the line, Adam Schiff was briefed and he, I imagine, briefed Pelosi. The whistleblower now approaches the IC IG and tells him that he has a complaint and that Schiff nows. The IC IG befouls himself. He doesn’t want to get caught up in this sh**storm so he creates a special dispensation to recognized gossip monger as a class of whistleblower and notifies his boss of the “urgent” nature of the allegations. At some point in this, the whistleblower form was changed to allow hearsay allegations. The acting DNI, having read the law, says no. The IC IG notifies Schiff that he has this really urgent complaint that just has to get out but his righteous ass is being stymied by everyone. At this point, the story starts bubbling into press reports.

As a final note, are the accusations being made about Schiff a little bit more than the article will support? Like this?

Sure, they are. But now a spotlight is going to be shined on Schiff’s ethics (none) and integrity (likewise none) and those deficiencies are going to color future events.

Postscript. This is why you never trust the New York Times with anything of importance.
