Unsolicited Advice: Don’t Take Nude Pictures With Your Phone

Westlake Legal Group cell-phone-1163722_1280-620x412 Unsolicited Advice: Don’t Take Nude Pictures With Your Phone Technology Privacy nudes katie hill Front Page Stories Featured Story digital age Culture advice

Welcome to Unsolicited Advice, the weekly column in which I dispense advice no one asked for to people who don’t even know who I am.

Last week I advised a young man who was in a power struggle with his girlfriend’s cat. This week I’m taking a slight departure because of some stunning news that one of our reporters broke. The story of California congresswoman Katie Hill was originally broken by Redstate’s own Jennifer Van Laar. It has since gone viral. Our front page has basically turned into Katiehill dot com for the time being.

We’ve fielded some angry messages and posts about our decision to publish some untoward pictures of Hill. Some people accuse us of publishing revenge porn. This is an advice column, so I like to keep it as light as possible. However, to quickly address that concern – we did take the matter into consideration. There were multiple discussions all throughout her months-long investigation that went all the way up the chain. In the end, the powers-that-be decided it was important that there was solid evidence of the relationship(s) that may have violated House ethics (ethics that Hill herself voted for) and have led to an investigation by the House Ethics Committee. Believe it or not, we left out a lot of racier stuff. We stand by the work and none of this happened without deep and frequent discussions about the sensitivity of the subject and the evidence. Rest assured, our reporter did not take the matter lightly.

That being said, I felt I would be remiss if I did not use this entire incident to make a greater point, and hopefully help young men and women out there avoid this sort of embarrassment and messiness in the future. Whatever your opinion of our decision to run with the story, let me dispense a little unsolicited advice to anyone out there who may be heading towards a Katie Hill-style crash and burn of their own.

Don’t take nudes on your phone.

I can already hear the uproar in my head right now (or is that the wine?).

“I have a right to privacy. I shouldn’t have to make every person I’m involved with sign an NDA before engaging in some recorded sexiness.”

You do have a right to privacy and you should be able to take private photos for private use without fear of anyone stealing them. But just because something should be, doesn’t mean that it is. White people ask me all the time, “Why is it that Black people can use the N-word loudly and without repercussions but White people can’t? Isn’t that a double standard?”

Why yes, it is. Also…that’s just the way it is. It isn’t fair. It just…is. Deal with it. I don’t even know why you’re so worked up about not being able to say the N-word but that’s your business, not mine.

It’s the same with nude photos, particularly on your phone. It isn’t fair that we live in a world where the technology that helps us the most can also hurt us the most even when we’re just enjoying it privately. But that’s the world we live in. If you have a nude photo and share a nude photo, you’ve put it out into the magical world of the internet, where nothing ever dies. You’ve also put it in the hands of someone you may not always love and may not always trust. Katie Hill found that out the hard way. So did Demi Lavato and Jennifer Lawrence and Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton…and on and on and on.

The internet is your greatest frenemy. Nothing is safe there and even if you think you’ll never send your photo to anyone, a hacker worth their salt can just grab it right from your phone. Privacy is really an illusion these days. It’s not fair that what you assume is private could be hacked or dug up by a nosy reporter trying to get to the bottom of a huge ethics scandal. It is what it is. You must adjust your lifestyle accordingly.

Here’s the other thing – the people who end up having their nudes “outed” are typically people who were in short-term, uncommitted relationships of some sort. In this digital age, one should treat their own nude/racy photos the way they treat their passwords. Don’t just hand it over to someone you barely know.

Ladies, are you listening? I am not above reproach here. I understand completely that I was a pretty dumb kid a long time ago. I did a lot of dumb stuff and I am grateful there was no internet to put me on blast (even the idea of reading my thoughts at 20 years of age makes me cringe). So don’t take this as judgment. Take this as a fair warning. That guy you’ve seen a few times who texted you for a sexy picture, he’s not going to look at it and erase it. It’ll stay on there forever. It will be a part of his memory collection as most photos are. He’ll take it with him when he moves on. And he will move on because a guy that asks for a nude photo before he even knows your last name is not a guy who is sticking around long.

If you’re like Katie Hill and you’re just letting your husband take sweet, innocent pictures of you sitting in the nude brushing the hair of the staff member/lover the two of you share…well, don’t do that either. In a throuple, someone is going to get their feelings hurt at some point and leave….with your photos. After that, you have no control.

Stay in control. Keep your nudes limited to personal interaction, or at least buy a digital camera that isn’t internet-connected. The world has changed and so has the way we share ourselves. It may not be fair, but it’s only the truth.

Don’t take nudes with your phone. Ever.

Rep. Ilhan Omar has managed to stay out of the news lately. By pure coincidence, right as her personal life started to become an issue, including evidence she married her brother, campaign finance violations, and an affair with a consultant, the press suddenly stopped talking about here. Weird stuff.

We still occasionally get some crazy thrown at us though and that happened yesterday. Omar decided she needed something to yell at Trump about, so she essentially made up story blaming Medicaid for a boy’s death.

There’s just one problem. Well, actually there are many.

I looked into this and Greg is right. Not only is the boy alive, which seems like a pretty big oversight on Omar’s part, this was not the fault of the government at all. As per law, the hospital admitted the boy regardless of whatever irrational fears the mother had about them not treating him.

Also, the reason he wasn’t covered under Medicaid via CHIP is because the mother had not filled out the proper paperwork. I know Democrats expect the government to be all powerful, but reading minds to register kids probably isn’t in their purview.

Even still, the hospital took it upon themselves to get all the paperwork done and get the boy covered. They did everything right here and deserved praise, not being vilified by Omar. Further, Medicaid is run and distributed at the state level based on each state’s program. Blaming Trump for this made no sense to begin with.

Now, guess where you could have found all this information? If you guessed in the article she linked to, congrats.

Omar did put out a “correction.”

This is the kind of thing you delete the original tweet over. Instead she pretends her only oversight was that the boy was still alive.

Oddly enough, not a single media “fact-checker” has found this worthy of pursuit yet.

There’s one last bit of irony here as well. On the same day Omar posted this blatant lie, Democrats were grilling Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook about “fact-checking” material on social media sites. I wonder if any of them will call Omar out over doing exactly what they claim is so dangerous? Gonna guess nah.

Majority of Millennials Want First Amendment Rewritten to Curb “Hate Speech”

Westlake Legal Group conservatives-silenced-620x326 Majority of Millennials Want First Amendment Rewritten to Curb “Hate Speech” Politics millennials Front Page Stories Free Speech First Amendment Featured Story Constitution Censorship Allow Media Exception

A new poll found that a majority of millennials want the moral equivalent of eating a Tide pod.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, the Campaign for Free Speech found that just over half of Millennials felt that the First Amendment — your right to free speech — should be altered a bit so that “hate speech” is punishable by law:

More than 60 percent of Americans agree on restricting speech in some way, while a slim majority, 51 percent, want to see the First Amendment rewritten to “reflect the cultural norms of today.” The Campaign for Free Speech, which conducted the survey, said the results “indicate free speech is under more threat than previously believed.”

“The findings are frankly extraordinary,” executive director Bob Lystad told the Washington Free Beacon. “Our free speech rights and our free press rights have evolved well over 200 years, and people now seem to be rethinking them.”

Millennials seem to believe that the Constitution “goes too far” when it comes to allowing certain kinds of speech, and over half believe jail time is a proper punishment for speaking out of line:

Nearly 60 percent of Millennials—respondents between the ages of 21 and 38—agreed that the Constitution “goes too far in allowing hate speech in modern America” and should be rewritten, compared to 48 percent of Gen Xers and 47 percent of Baby Boomers. A majority of Millennials also supported laws that would make “hate speech” a crime—of those supporters, 54 percent said violators should face jail time.

If I had a week I couldn’t tell you all the reasons why this is a bad idea, and I’ll keep it to the main point as much as possible.

Too many in my generation seem to not only have little in the way of foresight, but they also can’t seem to see what’s happening right under their nose. What is and isn’t considered to be taboo, hateful, or non-PC has changed so many times throughout the last decade that they’ve likely forgotten more things they were outraged about than they think.

People just living their lives are suddenly guilty of things like cultural appropriation, homophobia, transphobia and more. A person simply stating that a man isn’t a woman is suddenly suspended from social media platforms, and if the mob is willing enough, he may even lose his job.

These are very recent occurrences and all of them have been labeled hate speech at one point or another.

I can’t trust that the public can even define what hate speech is, and I’m not sure I ever will. The term is so nebulous and it shifts from one thing to another almost by the month. They want to ban hate speech, but I doubt that any of them can actually tell me what it is, and even if they good, I’m willing to bet that they only want those rules to apply to certain kinds of people in certain kinds of situations.

You can get a glimpse of this very thing during Steven Crowder’s “Change My Mind” video surrounding hate speech. Many seemed to know what hate speech was until they were asked to really define it. Many seemed to think that things like racist or homophobic speech really did equate to violence.

Racist and homophobic speech occurs every day, and likely more often than people think. I see more racism and sexism against white men in the mainstream media itself. I doubt many of these people would even stop to consider that racist and sexist because they don’t consider it racist or sexist to talk about how horrible white men are. Herein lies my point.

They can’t seem to define it and they’d certainly be unwilling to apply the rules across the board. What’s more, what is considered “hate speech” changes with the wind, and before you know it, you may very well be caught in a legal proceeding because you said something that qualifies as “hate speech” on Wednesday that didn’t apply on Tuesday.

The First Amendment is fine how it is.

On Thursday evening, the New York Times reported that U.S. Attorney John Durham’s administrative review of the origins of the Trump/Russia investigation has shifted into a criminal inquiry. This major development grants Durham the power to subpoena witnesses and documents and to impanel a grand jury. Speculation has increased in the wake of reports that Attorney General William Barr and Durham had twice traveled to Rome and London to meet with intelligence officials recently and the news that Durham was interested in questioning both former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan.

My colleague, Bonchie, posted on this story last night (here), writing that the mainstream media is portraying this as a political move. The following excerpt from the Times will give you an idea of how they plan to spin it. (Emphasis mine.)

The opening of a criminal investigation is likely to raise alarms that Mr. Trump is using the Justice Department to go after his perceived enemies.

…] The move also creates an unusual situation in which the Justice Department is conducting a criminal investigation into itself.

Mr. Barr’s reliance on Mr. Durham, a widely respected and veteran prosecutor who has investigated C.I.A. torture and broken up Mafia rings, could help insulate the attorney general from accusations that he is doing the president’s bidding and putting politics above justice.

[…] Federal investigators need only a “reasonable indication” that a crime has been committed to open an investigation, a much lower standard than the probable cause required to obtain search warrants. However, “there must be an objective, factual basis for initiating the investigation; a mere hunch is insufficient,” according to Justice Department guidelines.

Rather than acknowledging that Durham is zeroing in on the truth about the plot to destroy Donald Trump’s candidacy and following his unexpected victory, his presidency, they are characterizing it as Trump’s revenge. Still, there’s no doubt the major players involved in this travesty are starting to feel the squeeze.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, who has been peddling lies to her viewers for three years, characterized this latest move as a “frame job” and a “false flag operation” of the Trump campaign. She said, “This is the news that honestly, we’ve been sort of expecting for some time or thinking that if things got really bad, it might come to this…That is the conspiracy theory that the attorney general of the United States appears to have been going around the world trying to prove.”

It’s just crazy, isn’t it Rachel? Yes, now that Trump is on the verge of being impeached, his good buddy, Bill Barr, is going to bat for him. She will continue spewing this nonsense until Durham presents solid evidence of misconduct. At that point, her ratings, which fell by 25% following the release of the Mueller report, will crater.

Also last night, DOJ’s Inspector General Michael Horowitz announced that his long-anticipated report on alleged FISA abuse will be released in the next week to ten days with limited redactions. In a letter to lawmakers yesterday, which can be viewed here, he wrote that the classification process is “nearing an end” and explained that there will be one version of the final document. “Given the constructive progress that has been made during the classification review process, I do not anticipate a need to prepare and issue separate classified and public versions of the report.”

We know that Durham has questioned a number of CIA officials recently leading to speculation that the CIA outsourced some of their operations to their foreign counterparts to circumvent U.S. laws governing spying on U.S. citizens. Central to their investigation is the Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud. It was said that, on their most recent trip to Rome (at the end of September), Barr and Durham listened to a recording of a deposition provided by Mifsud in the summer of 2018 in which he explained his role in the saga. Additionally, Durham obtained two cell phones which Mifsud had used in 2016. Mifsud’s Swiss attorney, Stephan Roh, has been cooperating with Durham’s team for several months now.

In fact, the legal team of Trump’s former National Security Advisor, General Michael Flynn, believes there may be exculpatory evidence on those phones and they’re working to obtain them from Durham.

Former junior advisor for the Trump campaign George Papadopoulos, who was targeted by several “informants” in 2016, appeared on Fox News’ Martha MacCallum’s show recently and said:

Basically how I would summarize this, the grand statesman under Rome, Cicero, you know what he said?  What I think happened in 2016 and all of the events surrounding the 2016 campaign and the spying that took place on me and Michael Flynn and others was tantamount to treason. What happened was there was an intelligence agency with an ax to grind with candidate Trump and obviously President Trump, where we see the Russia hoax now evolving into Ukraine-gate. This is not going to stop. I predicted that Joseph Mifsud, that individual who now both of his Blackberries are now in the hands of the DOJ was a Western Intelligence agent. I wrote about it in my book exactly how I came in contact with this person who introduced me to him and what he wanted. Something I did not know and actually something that surprised me very much is that Joseph Mifsud was also spying on Michael Flynn just two months before he started his encounters with me… I joined the Donald Trump campaign in March of 2016. Before even the Washington Post or the American media knew that I was joining this campaign I had Joseph Mifsud and other intelligence agencies knowing all about me, what I was doing and what Donald Trump’s campaign was all about. So the notion that this investigation, Crossfire Hurricane, started spontaneously on July 31st 2016 is absurd. It’s completely absurd.

This is an extremely complex story which involves an enormous number of people. Durham’s team has been working on it formally since May. However, there were indications that he was actually on it several weeks or even months prior. If I recall correctly, Durham appeared at one or two Congressional hearings to listen to the testimony of former FBI officials.

In addition to the involvement of the British and Italian intelligence communities, there is reason to believe that Australian intelligence officials participated in the conspiracy. We need only look to Australian diplomat Alexander Downer’s May 2016 meeting with George Papadopoulos at a London bar where the Trump campaign’s newest advisor told him the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton. The FBI claims it was this event which triggered their counterintelligence investigation of Donald Trump.

Following Clapper’s lengthy trip to New Zealand and Australia in the late spring, Papadopoulos hinted he may have traveled there to cover his tracks. He posted the following tweet.

It looks like Trump is about to fight back. Fasten your seatbelts everybody!

Lindsey Graham Responds to Criticism That He’s Been Soft On Impeachment and It’s Less Than Convincing

There’s been a #whereislindsey hashtag trending for a few days among conservative circles, which is a reaction to the fact that Sen. Lindsey Graham has made some big statements but taken little action to combat Rep. Adam Schiff’s machinations in the House.

At one point, he said “if this continues” that he will subpoena Kurt Volker. Well, it’s continued apace for weeks and the selective leaking has gotten far worse. Yet, Graham has stood pat despite being the head of the extremely powerful Judiciary Committee in the Senate. This goes beyond impeachment as well. He’s failed to call any witnesses dealing with the Trump-Russia investigation despite promising to do so.

Naturally, this has frustrated some on the right.

Julie Kelly of American Greatness pressed Graham for a comment on why he’s been so hesitant to make any moves despite being so forceful on TV. Surprisingly, she got an answer back.

Chairman Graham has been clear—repeatedly—he is waiting for [Justice Department] Inspector General Horowitz to deliver his report. When the report has been delivered and declassified by the Attorney General, Inspector General Horowitz will testify publicly before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Graham is committed to transparency.” She continued. “If we called the IG and others to the committee before the report was out or declassified, they would be forced to answer many—simple or tough—questions with ‘Sorry we can’t discuss that, it’s classified.’ That is not a productive outcome.

Eh, this is pretty weak I think. The Inspector General is simply not that important and his actions certainly shouldn’t be dictating investigations in the Senate. Horowitz has no subpoena power, no prosecutorial power, and can’t even compel testimony of those who’ve left government. What exactly is Graham waiting on except the watered down report we all know it will be? It’s Graham who could actually force figures like Brennan and Clapper in front of Congress, not the DOJ’s IG.

Kelly also asked about matters dealing with Trump and Ukraine.

What about Graham’s promise to find out more about the Ukranian “whistleblower?”

Earlier this month, the spokeswoman noted, Graham invited President Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, to testify before the Judiciary Committee. That’s nice, but why not anyone from the intelligence community, including the inspector general under fire for his handling of the complaint and refusal to answer questions about his role.

If he wants to call Rudy Giuliani in, by all means. But he’s far from the only figure Graham should be concerned with. Why has he not tried to compel testimony from the “whistle blower” given that we now know he coordinated (on some level) with Adam Schiff and his staff? It’d seem pretty useful to get him under oath and ask him about that. Further, the inconsistencies with last minute revisions made by the ICIG (Atkinson) to allow the complaint should also be of interest. Yet, Graham has not called him either to testify.

And what about all the witnesses that Schiff is shuffling through? There’s absolutely nothing that says the Senate can’t interview these people in a more transparent way to undercut the secrecy going on in the House.

Heck, we are now approaching the end of the year and Graham hasn’t called a single witness to deal with the Mueller report, how it was run, and whether certain figures like Andrew Weissmann overstepped their bounds. What is the point of holding such a powerful position and being the majority in the Senate if you aren’t going to use that power?

Graham did introduce a resolution today calling for Schiff to stop his games, but it’s not going to even pass. Mitt Romney and company are going to vote it down. It’d also be a non-binding action. You might as well just go on Fox News and read Schiff an angry letter. What’s the point?

Look, I like Graham. I think he’s done a reasonably good job the past few years on some big issues, not the least of which is Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation. But he’s going to have to step forward in this process sooner rather than later.

First Katie Hill, Now Another Dem Is Under Investigation for Alleged Relationship with Staffer

Democrats have been shellshocked by the allegations concerned Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA) that were broken exclusively by RedState about Hill being involved in a “throuple” with a campaign aide and her husband. Hill also allegedly had an affair with a staffer, her legislative director, Graham Kelly.

Hill has now admitted to having an “inappropriate relationship” with the campaign aide, but is still denying having a sexual relationship with her congressional staffer.

House Rules forbid having sexual relationships with staffers.

The House announced on Wednesday that they had launched an investigation into Hill based on the report by RedState.

From Fox News:

“The committee is aware of public allegations that Representative Katie Hill may have engaged in a sexual relationship with an individual on her congressional staff, in violation of House Rule XXIII, Clause 18(a),” Committee Chairman Ted Deutch, D-Fla., and Ranking Member Kenny Marchant, R-Texas, wrote. They added that the panel had launched “an investigation and will gather additional information regarding the allegations.”

But now it turns out that Katie Hill is not the only person they’re investigating.

Turns out there’s another Democrat who allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a staffer.

The House Ethics Committee announced that they were also investigating Delegate Michael F.Q. San Nicolas (D-Guam) over allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a staffer & campaign finance abuses. They are looking into allegations that he converted campaign funds to personal use and accepted improper or excessive campaign contributions.

According to the Washington Times, legal counsel for San Nicolas said, “The congressman welcomes the opportunity for due process.”

Territories of the United States, like Guam, have non-voting delegates instead of representatives. San Nicolas has represented Guam’s at large district since January. He was elected to serve as the Vice Chair of the House Committee on Financial Services by fellow committee members.

Kuam News reported that in San Nicolas’ former chief of staff John Paul Manuel had filed a complaint with the Guam Election Commission about his former boss’ actions.

Here’s what Manuel said in September before the House announcement and he didn’t hold back.

From Kuam News:

Manuel told KUAM News, “How can you truly be supporting our troops when he is engaging in sexual relations with their wives while they are away? There is never a convenient time to reveal a friend’s wrong-doings. But the truth needed to be said. How is it responsible to have your chakmak on government payroll for $85,000? Powerful men need to realize the era of using political office as their own personal sexual playground is over. Government budgets don’t have any more room for chakmaks.”

Here’s more from Kuam News:

Kuam News also reported San Nicolas has a pretty poor voting record, according to Roll Call, observing that:

[I]n the Committee of the Whole, Congressman San Nicolas “voted just 47% of the time he has been eligible through October. 23rd”. Roll Call reports “overall he’s missed 138 or 259 votes so far”.

Ben Carson Tells a Representative to Grow up Over ‘Big Hairy Men’ Comment – ‘We Need to be More Mature Than That’

Westlake Legal Group ap-ben-carson-ohio-620x441 Ben Carson Tells a Representative to Grow up Over ‘Big Hairy Men’ Comment – ‘We Need to be More Mature Than That’ Uncategorized Front Page Stories Featured Story

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson meets with city and housing officials inside a shelter in Columbus, Ohio, Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Carson said Wednesday he expects to release a policy agenda within the next few months that delivers “bang for the buck,” partly by encouraging more private-sector collaboration. (AP Photo/Dake Kang)

On Tuesday, Democratic Virginia Rep. Jennifer Wexton gave Ben Carson an opportunity.

From the mound of morality, she went into a woke wind-up.

With her eagle eyes and dextrous throwing arm, she bullseyed the pitch.

Ben watched the ball wizz forth.

The tip of his Louisville Slugger wiggled in the air, his elbow remained cocked.

Knees bent.

Chokehold tight.

Pop! — the sound of stitching and hide hitting the leather Mizuno mitt.

A no-swing.

Did Ben strike out?

He passed on the chance to apologize.

As I covered in September, the nation’s Housing and Urban Development secretary got himself in a hairy situation (here).

His follicular foul-up was saying women in shelters don’t want “big, hairy men” staying there.

Kamala Harris was stunned:

“Shameful. These derogatory comments by Secretary Carson are part of a long pattern that shows his disregard for the transgender community. It’s simply unacceptable.”

Some Democrats called for him to be fired, including Julián Castro, who believes men can be impregnated and tornadoes hate those black people. He sorta blamed Ben for murder:

Of course, compared to women, men are big. And men are hairy.

But we live at a time, it appears, when stating a reality is perceived as attacking it.

At the time, Ben tried to explain himself to Tucker Carlson:

“[I] quoted a group that came to me, and they were very upset, and they said, you know, ‘A big hairy man came in here and he says he’s a woman, and that upsets us because many of us are trying to escape that.’ But the political correctness says, ‘You have to say what we want you to say,’ and that will destroy freedom of speech. And I’ve offered transgender groups the opportunity to let me know what their solution would be so that everybody’s rights are observed. I haven’t heard one peep.”

Fast-forward to Tuesday, when Jennifer pitched her best heat.

Rather than apologizing, he offered this:

“Well, first of all, I didn’t describe transgender women that way. I was relating a story that a women’s group told me about big hairy men – who are not transgender women by the way – coming into your facility and having to be accepted because of the rules that were in place.”

“You don’t feel the need to apologize for those comments?” Jennifer asked.

Ben:

“No. I think this whole concept of political correctness: ‘You can say this. You can’t say that. You can’t repeat what someone said,’ is total foolishness and is going to destroy our nation and we need to be more mature than that.”

BREAKING: Barr-Durham Investigation Is Now Officially a Criminal Investigation

This is coming in the form of some hilarious spin from The New York Times, but the big news here is that my previous speculation was correct. The Barr-Durham probe into the origins of the Trump-Russia fiasco is now officially a criminal investigation.

From the link above.

WASHINGTON — For more than two years, President Trump has repeatedly attacked the Russia investigation, portraying it as a hoax and illegal even months after the special counsel closed it. Now, Mr. Trump’s own Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into how it all began.

Justice Department officials have shifted an administrative review of the Russia investigation closely overseen by Attorney General William P. Barr to a criminal inquiry, according to two people familiar with the matter. The move gives the prosecutor running it, John H. Durham, the power to subpoena for witness testimony and documents, to impanel a grand jury and to file criminal charges.

You can just imagine the spittle flying as they typed this. They really, really don’t want this to be looked into and by shifting it to a criminal investigation, the DOJ now has full power to compel witness testimony. That’s bad news for a lot of people who have been flailing about, insisting there’s no reason they should be investigated.

Of course, instead of just sticking to the facts, the unbiased reporters at the Times described the shift in this manner.

The opening of a criminal investigation is likely to raise alarms that Mr. Trump is using the Justice Department to go after his perceived enemies.

Yes, that’s the problem here. Not that the DOJ has enough evidence to start criminally investigating people, but that it’s happening at all and some might be “alarmed.” Isn’t it weird how they had none of these reservations with the Obama administrations investigation into Trump, nor the Mueller investigation.

There’s not many more details in the article so we’ll have to wait to see what the next moves our, but a lot of people are going to be sweating a little more profusely tonight.

Inclusion: Instead of Removing Venus Symbol, Babylon Bee Has Better Packaging Idea for Always Feminine Products

Did you hear the news?

After complaints from LGBTQ groups that their Always line of feminine products weren’t “inclusive” enough, Proctor and Gamble has decided to phase out the use of the female symbol on their packaging … because not everyone who goes through their, ahem, monthly cycle is a woman or something.

Fox News reports:

“For over 35 years Always has championed girls and women, and we will continue to do so,” the company said in a statement Tuesday, according to The Independent. “We’re also committed to diversity & inclusion and are on a continual journey to understand the needs of all of our consumers.”

Company officials added that they realize not everyone who needs feminine hygiene products “identif[ies] as female.” Procter & Gamble did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News.

The decision was lauded by trans activists but faced criticism online.

“Women are quite literally being erased from sanitary products now. Is there anywhere we are allowed to be visible!?” one woman wrote on Twitter, according to The Independent.

Progressive trans activists applauded the move, of course. But in a show of a complete lack of self awareness, they actually mansplained accused women who complained about the removal of the symbol of fragility, which I let them know was a bit of a strange comment for them to to make, all things considered:

In any event, the Babylon Bee had an alternative suggestion earlier this week for P&G that might actually work better than the removal of the symbol:

CINCINNATI, OH—Always is appealing to the company’s male customers with its new “Always Macho” series of menstrual products.

The pads and tampons’ packaging will feature pictures of monster trucks crushing each other, AR-15s, and John Cena dropkicking people.

“We want to welcome all people who menstruate, whether you are a cisgender woman, a transgender man, or a dude who really likes monster trucks,” said a Procter & Gamble representative.

Here’s what “Always Macho” packaging looks like:

I think it’s a contender! What do you think?
