Children, Behave: Liberal Protestor ‘Milkshakes’ Florida Congressman Outside Town Hall Meeting

Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) had spent his afternoon doing what we want Members of Congress to be doing — holding a town hall meeting with his constituents — when he was assaulted by a liberal protestor who was caught on video dumping a drink on him. Media Matters campaign director Jordan Uhl gleefully tweeted the video, commenting, “Matt Gaetz got milkshaked in Pensacola.”

The video, posted by WKRG, Pensacola’s CBS affiliate, shows Gaetz leaving the town hall meeting in Pensacola, one of several he scheduled around his congressional district this weekend. Protestors can be heard yelling various chants, taunting Gaetz as he walks out, when a drink is lobbed at him, appearing to strike him in the back and shoulder.

WKRG reported that police “quickly detained and arrested” Amanda Leigh Kondrat’yev for the alleged assault. Kondrat’yev said she was there to protest the town hall.

According to WEAR, the local ABC affiliate, Kondrat’yev was one of the candidates who unsuccessfully ran against Gaetz in 2016 for the congressional seat. She has been charged with battery.

Gaetz has often attracted a higher degree of media attention than one might otherwise expect for a freshman Congressman, partly due to his enthusiastic and vocal support for President Donald Trump, and partly due to his penchant for controversial comments and social media posts.

In other words, while Gaetz has his ardent supporters, he also attracts a large number of critics.

Fine. Hooray for the First Amendment. That’s part of what being an elected official entails. Kondrat’yev and her fellow protestors had every right to protest outside Gaetz’s town hall and speak their mind.

But when Kondrat’yev decided to physically attack Gaetz, she wasn’t exercising her free speech rights. She was committing a crime. [Allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, etc. — this incident was caught on video and Kondrat’yev was identified and arrested immediately at the scene. She is, of course, presumed innocent in our criminal justice system.]

I’ve certainly had my criticisms of Gaetz over the years, and I’ve made no secret of my skepticism of Trump. But how pathetic and childish are these protestors when they can’t figure out how to express themselves in words and resort to throwing drinks and food like toddlers?

Uhl, the Media Matters campaign director, and the other liberals who cheered Kondrat’yev’s [alleged] attack, drawing the parallel to the milkshakes thrown on pro-Brexit politicians in the UK, are perhaps even worse. They are openly cheering for physical assaults on other people, just because they don’t agree with them on a political issue.

The Pensacola Congressman seemed unharmed, fortunately, other than some minor laundry issues for his shirt, but this idea that “milkshaking” is a harmless prank and an acceptable form of protest is absolutely wrong. Any time someone throws a physical object at someone, especially where a lot of people are gathered closely together, there’s a potential for injury or sparking an incitement in the crowd. There’s a long standing tradition for treating all unwanted physical contact as criminal behavior, for good reason.

James Gagliano, a CNN law enforcement analyst, tweeted that he was “no Matt Gaetz fan” but condemned the “utterly shameful and disgusting” assault and those who were celebrating it, expressing his worries that this was an escalation that could lead to violence.

As Kondrat’yev contemplates spending thousands of dollars on legal fees and court costs, plus whatever sentence the criminal justice system may impose, she should ask herself what she actually achieved today.

Matt Gaetz is not going to stop supporting Trump, resign from office, change his vote on any bill, or switch his position on any issue whatsoever. Her little stunt accomplished absolutely nothing, except to create potential challenges for her own future. “Assaulted a Congressman” isn’t the kind of resume line most employers crave.

Gaetz seemed in good spirits about the whole kerfuffle, tweeting his thanks to local law enforcement who “keep everyone safe at our events,” and quipping that “[c]learly it takes more than a drink to slow down our great team.”

UPDATE: The Pensacola News Journal confirmed that Kondrat’yev was one of Gaetz’s congressional opponents in the 2016 race, and further reports that she has been released from jail on a $1,000 bond. Kondrat’yev is also one of four plaintiffs suing the city of Pensacola to force the removal of a cross from Bayview Park.

That Squirrelly Guy from Vox Is Trying to Get Steven Crowder Banned on Youtube

Westlake Legal Group Capture-1-620x369 That Squirrelly Guy from Vox Is Trying to Get Steven Crowder Banned on Youtube youtube Whiney vox thin-skinned Steven Crowder Squirrelly Politics media bias Front Page Stories Front Page Free Speech Featured Story deplatforming democrats comedy Censorship carlos maza banning

If you’ve ever visited Steven Crowder’s Youtube channel before, you’ve probably stumbled across some of his rebuttal videos. In them, he uses comedy and facts to challenge claims made by politicians or media members.

One outlet that’s been the subject of several of his videos is Vox. Why? Because it’s a flaming pile of garbage that routinely makes false or misleading claims in their “explainer” videos.

That’s apparently got Carlos , a particularly grating host at Vox, up in arms. He’s accusing Crowder of “bullying” him and is working directly with Youtube to get him banned from the platform.

Spoiler: It’s absolutely about trying to get conservatives voiced silenced.

Maza’s campaign includes trying to start a drive to flag Crowder’s videos. He also claims that he’s getting direct messages from Youtube to discuss taking action based on his “concerns.”

The irony here is that what set Maza off was a rebuttal video to his claims that Fox News was a propaganda outlet. So it seems he can dish it out but can’t take it. This dude sounds pretty sensitive.

Here’s a tip, and it’s the same way I feel about people like Talia Lavin (who savages conservatives with smears and then whines that she gets criticized).

If you don’t want pushback, criticism, or to be made fun of, then get out of the public eye. You may have a right to trash others falsely with silly explainer videos, but you don’t have a right to do so while demanding a protective bubble be maintained around you. In this country, we are allowed to dissent and Maza doesn’t seem to understand that. If he doesn’t want to be rebutted or laughed at, then he’s welcome to go find another job.

What’s more concerning here is that Youtube appears to be playing along with Maza.

Crowder has routinely been wrongly flagged or copyright claimed on Youtube, only to win each and every case he engages in. Despite that, Youtube has never DMed him personally to work out an issue. That Youtube is jumping to “investigate” Crowder based on the word of some clown from Vox isn’t a good sign and shows the clear double standards at play.

Has Crowder made some off-color remarks about Maza? Sure, but again, it’s a freaking comedy show. Maza, for his part, has never had an issue with bad language and personal attacks in his videos. It’s pretty hypocritical for him to now cry about it being done back to him.

At some point conservatives are going to have to wake up and decide if they want to be subservient to the tech giants or if they are ready to put up a fight. These companies have the right to curate speech. They don’t have the right to do so while avoiding all liability for the speech on their platforms.

This is why I didn’t rush to make fun of Devin Nunes for his lawsuit against Twitter. Someone needs to get this stuff in court so these companies are forced to chose one path or the other. They can’t keep straddling the fence in a middle ground that doesn’t actually exist. If they want to be publishers, then they should bare the full brunt of liability that comes with that.

I have a feeling that when push comes to shove, they’ll chose the profit that comes from being an open platform over pandering to Vox.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan Decides He Won’t Challenge Trump in 2020

Today, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) put to rest chatter that he was considering challenging President Donald Trump for the 2020 Republican presidential nomination. Hogan announced his decision in an interview with the Washington Post‘s Robert Costa.

“I’m not going to be a candidate for president in 2020,” said Hogan.

Hogan had refused to vote for Trump in 2016, instead casting a write-in vote for his father, a former congressman. Hogan had continued to be an outspoken critic of the President, one of the few current Republican office holders to continue to do so after Trump was sworn into office.

Hogan has enjoyed high favorability ratings as governor, and received a lot of personal support from his constituents when he was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2015. Hogan reported that the cancer was in remission late that year, and finished his final chemotherapy treatments in 2016.

Still, popularity in Maryland is not necessarily the same kind of popularity that can take on an incumbent president. A Baltimore Sun poll conducted April 29-May 4 showed that while Hogan had a sky-high approval rating of 76%, among Maryland Republican primary voters, he would capture only 24% of the vote to Trump’s 68%, with 8% undecided.

In the interview with Costa, Hogan acknowledged the uphill path his potential presidential challenge would have, but that the more important issue in his mind was the commitment he had made to the people of Maryland who just re-elected him as their governor in 2018.

“I have a commitment to the 6 million people of Maryland and a lot of work to do, things we haven’t completed,” said Hogan.

Hogan added that he had discussed the possibility of a presidential campaign with his family, and his wife had encouraged him to stay focused on Maryland.

“Her big push was, ‘You just got reelected to a second term as governor. You made a commitment to the people of Maryland and that’s where your focus should be,’” said Hogan. “She said there is plenty of time to think about the future but right now my attention should be on my day job.”

In addition to his gubernatorial duties, Hogan will launch an advocacy organization called “An America United” this week, which he described as attempting to “transcend partisanship” and find issues both political parties could support, like infrastructure improvements. He dismissed suggestions this group was laying the groundwork for an independent presidential run.

He confirmed he is still considering running for President in 2024, saying “I believe there’s going to be a future in the Republican Party beyond President Trump. It’s either going to be next year or four years later. But at some point we’re going to be looking for what the future is going to be like.”

Robert Mueller Purposely Edited a Phone Call From Trump’s Legal Team to Make It Seem Like Obstruction of Justice

Robert Mueller by DonkeyHotey, licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0/Original

This is a pretty big deal.

The issues with Robert Mueller’s report are apparent, especially given his decision to overstep DOJ guidelines and smear those who he had no intention of charging. Part two of the report reads like a roadmap too impeachment, full of insinuations and scatter shot “evidence” that doesn’t actually add up to anything but more speculation.

Mueller’s inability to do his job smacked of political gamesmanship. He winked and nodded at Congress but didn’t have the fortitude to just recommend charges against Trump. There was no regulation stopping him from doing so and in the end, he failed to complete the one task his special counsel was appointed to do.

We did not need Robert Mueller to investigate Facebook trolls or DNC emails. The only reason for his existence was to answer questions of criminality on the President’s part given the supposed conflict of interests at the DOJ. When Ken Starr was tasked with that during the Bill Clinton years, he had the courage to put in his report exactly the laws the former President had broken. Mueller chose not to because he didn’t have the goods but wanted to still leave a negative impression.

The more we learn, the worse Mueller looks and this newest revelation is pretty damning.

Remember a few weeks ago when the media and Democrats thought they had a bombshell based on a voicemail that supposedly showed Trump’s legal team trying to coordinate with Flynn’s legal team after he agreed to cooperate with the government? I wrote at the time what a garbage accusation it was.

Let’s just say that I’m getting tired of being right all the time.

Here’s the original source who caught this.

This is pretty crazy. The report is the size of a moderate length novel but Mueller just had to edit those lines out? And as the media ran crazy with accusations of obstruction of justice and witness tampering, Mueller sat idly by even though he’s been speaking out on other matters.

Those that are still hanging onto a virtuous image of “Saint” Mueller are delusional. This guy is as cunning and manipulative today as he was a decade ago in the Pan Am case.

John Dowd, who’s Trump’s lawyer in the call gave a comment (Techno Frog may lack the coveted blue checkmark, but he’s a legit insider on this stuff).

So there you have it.

Robert Mueller and his team purposely edited a call to remove context and to try to paint something totally innocuous as a sinister attempt at obstructing justice. This is exactly why he does not want to testify and why Democrats are not subpoenaing him. They know he’d get destroyed if forced to defend his report.

If Mueller was willing to do this, what else was he willing to manipulate in his report?

AOC Accuses ICE Agents of Purposely Killing Children Because She’s a Moron

I’m going to break one of my own rules. I normally refrain from name calling in headlines and try to not do it in the body of my articles unless it’s just unavoidable. I.E. calling people idiots, morons, etc.

Let’s call this an unavoidable situation. There is no more of an accurate way to describe this latest nonsense from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez than moronic.

There are so many questions.

First, I’ll note that Jessica Valenti’s link above doesn’t work. While I can’t be sure what it said, what I can guarantee is that her description of what happened is almost certainly not accurate. She’s a dishonest hack and routinely misrepresents matters to push her rabidly pro-abortion views.

Also of note is that at the time that AOC reacted to the tweet, the link was still not working, which means she had no actual context for what she was responding to.

Regardless, AOC is comparing ICE agents having an accidental death happen in their custody to abortion doctors who purposely choose to kill children.

In short, she’s accusing ICE agents of murdering kids.

This harkens back to an episode a few weeks ago when a Democrat Representative made this same argument, accusing DHS of making policy choices with the intention of killing kids. That was quickly swept under the rug and the media completely ignored it. We didn’t even get one fact-check.

Now, we have AOC equating ICE agents with abortionists, asserting they are making the same affirmative decision to end the lives of babies. That’s her words, not my interpretation. She says it’s the “same thing.”

This kind of language is disgustingly vile but not unexpected from someone with very little mental fortitude. It probably never even crossed her mind how illogical her comparison was.

No matter what one thinks of immigration policy as a whole, CBP and ICE are doing everything they can to treat people humanely given the impossible situation at hand. They are not purposely killing anyone and in the rare event someone dies in their custody, accusing them of doing it intentionally is just gross.

Legacy Time: Hillary Clinton Selfishly Uses College Commencement Speech to Talk Mueller and Bash Trump, Facebook

Hillary Clinton speaks at the Hunter College graduation ceremony in NYC. 5/29/19. Screen grab via NBC News.

Students ready to put years of hard work behind them, celebrate their graduation, and get started on their respective career paths were treated to a blatantly political and self-centered commencement speech given by twice failed candidate for president Hillary Clinton on Wednesday.

The Associated Press reports:

Clinton’s bluntly political speech to members of the class of 2019 at Hunter College was delivered at Madison Square Garden hours after Mueller made his first public comments about his probe into election meddling.

Referencing Mueller’s remarks, Clinton said the allegation that Russians had attempted to sway U.S. voters “deserves the attention of every American,” and she condemned Trump for largely dismissing Mueller’s work as a witch hunt.

“What we’ve seen from the administration is a complete refusal to condemn a foreign power who attacked our democracy,” she said. “We’ve got to deal with what has been investigated and reported.”

[…]

“What do we do when people in positions of authority are not held accountable? When they defy requests from Congress? When they spread misinformation online?” the Democrat said, suggesting it was up to the graduates to find solutions to such problems.

Clinton also took a jab at Facebook:

“When Facebook refused to take down a fake video of Nancy Pelosi, it wasn’t even a close call,” Clinton told the graduates. “The video is sexist trash. And YouTube took it down but Facebook kept it up.”

The former presidential candidate then suggested that a message be sent to Facebook to show opposition to the tech giant’s decision, and she warned that the site would be “flooded” with “false and doctored videos” if nothing happens.

Her full speech can be viewed below:

Twitter users called Clinton out for using the speech to air her personal and political grievances instead of making it about the students:

Some Twitter users pointed out something I noticed, too: Some of the graduates sitting behind Clinton looked visibly bored and agitated:

As I’ve written before when she’s made similar remarks, it’s just really rich to see her of all people complaining about people in positions of authority not being held accountable, especially when you consider how Clinton herself managed to avoid indictment in 2016 in spite of all the evidence against her as it related to her email server scandal.

Clinton’s rationale for continuing to bang the Mueller drum is not just political, it’s personal – very personal. Her loss to Trump in 2016 had to be devastating to her. Very embarrassing, too, considering she was a “sure thing” if you listened to so-called political experts and polling gurus.

Some have called the investigation into Russian interference a “coup attempt” against Trump, but for Hillary, the investigation has been a way for her to soothe her bruised ego over the fact she was defeated. She’s convinced herself that without the interference she would have won the election.

The students at Hunter College deserved a speech that was centered around them, their accomplishments, and their futures, not a political bashfest with insinuations about what could have been for her in 2016. Clinton’s defenders will call this her greatest speech ever, but in reality this was not a good look for her. Not good a good look at all.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) has some things to say about the way both Robert Mueller and Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) have treated President Donald Trump as of late, and he appeared on Fox Business on Thursday to air some grievances.

“The thing that shocks me is that someone like Mueller, who is supposed to be esteemed and has been around for decades, completely and fundamentally misunderstands our justice system,” said Paul while talking to Stuart Varney.

“The burden on the government is to prove that you’re guilty. Nobody proves that you’re innocent. You’re presumed to be innocent,” he continued. “So he’s out there, all over television, saying, “We never said, we never concluded the president was innocent.” Completely misunderstands our judicial system. You’re presumed to be innocent; they have to prove you’re guilty.”

“He was not charged. He was not indicted, so he is innocent,” he concluded.

Paul went on to say that it’s not right to assume someone is guilty because they never said they were innocent, and that innocence comes with the lack of a guilty verdict. According to Paul, Mueller “completely misunderstands that.”

Varney then turned the conversation toward impeachment, which Paul said would be a complete waste of time and that the people are sick and tired of hearing about it.

According to polls, he’s not wrong.

However, you can’t bring up the impeachment of Trump without bringing up the recent calls for it by Amash. Paul wondered aloud why a libertarian like Amash would want to support an investigation undertaken by the secret FISA court going after Americans:

So I don’t understand a libertarian who would take this investigation and say we should pursue it and impeach the president. It goes against everything libertarians are for. We don’t like too much power. We don’t like the secret FISA court going after Americans. Foreigners are one thing, but always we’ve been very concerned about the FISA court being used against Americans. So I’ve been talking with the president. I spoke with him last night about how do we try to prevent this from happening to the next president or to the Americans at large? I think the president is open to trying to figure out a way, either legislatively or through executive order, we can try to prevent this abuse of power from happening again.

There was very little doubt Trump would run for a second term. Some of his critics on the right perhaps held out hope he’d decide not to and Mitt Romney would come riding in on a white horse, but nah. We are never going back there and it’s probably time for some to accept it.

Today, the President formally announced his re-election campaign, or better yet, he announced his coming announcement of his re-election campaign.

While I’m normally not too in to watching Trump rallies (dude’s hilarious but it’s a bit repetitive), this one is going to be grade A entertainment given its context. There’s no telling what the dude will say.

Another thing to note is that an important question appears to have been answered.

It looks like VP Pence is along for the ride again. While Trump running was a forgone conclusion, there had been some chatter that Pence might not be on the ticket again and that it would be beneficial to replace him with someone else.

I can see both sides. On the one hand, it’d be crappy to dump him as he’s not done a bad job. On the other hand, Pence adds basically nothing to the campaign. I think evangelicals are already with Trump regardless and that’s Pence’s only real draw. He reminds me of Tim Kaine running with Hillary in the sense that he’s just an after thought. A woman or someone from a swing state would be very valuable in what will be a grueling campaign.

Regardless, what’s done is done. Trump is the guy moving forward and Pence will be at his side. No pipe dream primary challenges are going to derail their path to the general election. If I’m Trump, I don’t even engage with whatever nut job Bill Kristol and company decide to put forward.

Given something unforeseen, it looks like June 18th is going to officially kick off the 2020 election season. Buckle your seatbelts. It’s going to be an insane year and a half.

Erick Erickson Suspended from Twitter Over Liz Warren Joke

The Resurgents Erick Erickson has been suspended from Twitter over a joke he made about 2020 Democratic candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

According to the Daily Caller, the tweet Erickson was suspended for was a joke relating to her claims of being a Native American.

“Elizabeth Warren set to introduce the Wrecking American Prosperity Under Marxism, or WAMPUM act, wherein she gives everything away for free,” tweeted Erickson.

Twitter suspended Erickson, claiming it violated its rules under “hateful conduct.”

“I suspect it was an algorithmic ban, but algorithms written by progressives are more likely to consider conservatives problematic,” Erickson told the DCNF. “Of all the things to ban for though. That’s just stupid.”

The suspension will last for 12 hours from Friday morning and was confirmed by a Twitter representative according to the DCNF.

Erickson is just one in a long list of conservatives that have felt the wrath of Twitter’s left-leaning employees and algorithms. Twitter recently suspended an analyst who had uncovered prominent journalists with solid connections to the domestic terrorist group Antifa.

Last year, an undercover video sting showed that Twitter employees were purposefully going after right-leaning users, confirming fears that many on the right were being “shadow banned” on the platform, or having their reach artificially limited by Twitter.

Meanwhile, Twitter has no problem allowing certain things to exist on its platforms, such as Antifa accounts and threats against individuals so long as those threats are directed at people on the right.
